OK. This is the info i have. Suarez deal is 50/ 50 at the min. The least Ajax will take for him is 19mil(pounds). LFC have the cash but are cautious just in case another club comes in for him at that value. If not then LFC will bid for Luis for the said amount on transfer deadline day. They will bid in the "AM" of deadline day so as, if the bid gets rejected they will then go to plan B. Plan B is Gignac. Commoli has reportedly been interested in the player if the Suarez deal falls through.
Adam deal will not happen. Also Warnock is a no go.

LFC Transfer Activity

Ins
Luis Suarez - £18.5m + £5m

Outs
Ryan Babel - Hoffenheim - £5.7m + £2m
Paul Konchesky - Fulham - Loan + £3m

Thats all that will happen sorry. We won't get a winger, left back or centre back. If we get a winger we will force Jovanovic to Wolfsburg but we won't so sorry.

Jovanovic has turned down move to Wolfsburgh

()()

27 Jan 2011 20:50:54
2 departures and 3 signings to be made before the end of the months.

Paul Konchesky will rejoin Fulham. A loan deal has been agreed but the clubs remain locked in talks over a permanent deal. Liverpool would prefer to sell, but Fulham would rather a loan move initially with a view to a permanent deal. A permanent fee would be around £3.5m-£4m.

Milan Jovanovic will leave for Wolfsburg for £5.5m. Liverpool have accepted a fee but Jovanovic wants to stay at Liverpool and is reluctant to leave. However, it is understood that guaranteed first team football and the fact he is not in Kenny Dalglish's plans may lure him to the German club.

Luis Suarez deal is expected to go through right at the last minute. Ajax's deadline is purely a negotiating tactic to try and scare Liverpool and make them offer a substantial amount of money to get Suarez. Despite the talk of a £30m transfer fee may need to be paid, Ajax will do business for £20m

Liverpool have approached Wigan regarding Charles N'Zogbia. They have enquired about his availability but were knocked back. However, Liverpool are set to offer Wigan around £10m and offer 2 younger players on loan for the remainder of the season.

A similar deal to the N'Zogbia one will be put forward to Blackpool for Charlie Adam. Liverpool are expected to offer £7m for him and offer Jay Spearing and Dani Pacheco on loan, with their wages paid by Liverpool for the remainder of the season.

We are trying to sign players, definatley. .regarding suarez, as i said before ajax will sell but they are waiting for more bids from different clubs to come in and if that dosn't happen they will take the cash we are offering.
blackpool are trying to price adam out of a move, but i think 7-8million should get him. . there is still time left don't forget, its not deadline day.yet

Hi Ed and fellow Red's.
I was reading "The Metro" today, its a free paper they give out in Dublin and it said in the sports section that Ajax have said that if LFC don't sign Suarez by Sat that they will add 5million per day after that, I could have miss read as it was 7am.Any Irish posters see that story today or have you heard that crazy rumour in England.I think we will sign a couple of players only if they will improve the team now as the January window for us is really for the present in my eyes.

I agree with Macca and I am confident that Luis Suarez will be signed this window. Also, if Arda Turan is available in the summer I will be suprised if we don't make a move for him. Finally, an improved bid for Charlie Adam will be made but NOT £14million though and I have heard that we are intrested in Charles Nzogbia but no bid has been made, yet.

Van onze Telesportredactie
AMSTERDAM - Het is vandaag D-day voor Luis Suarez.

Translation

From our Editorial Telesport
LONDON - Today is D-day for Luis Suarez. The star player knows today since last night that Liverpool will do to a supreme effort to remove him from Ajax. It awaits the South American striker is excited. Blocks Ajax his transfer by adhering to his eyes in an exorbitantly high price (25 million), it is no longer motivated to Suarez for his club to work.

Luis Suarez

Whether that means he is not training and playing, the next 48 hours clear. But it is a major problem where the management and technical staff at Ajax for days to hiccup. Suarez after a failed transfer negotiations on Monday (between Liverpool and Ajax) Ajax to everyone expressed that he wants to leave at all.

The player is finished with the Netherlands, due to the lengthy suspension and the tough criticism after the biting incident. The chance of a championship with Ajax is also getting smaller. If his current total of seven goals not substantially bolt on and not in the Champions League comes out, its price plummet to a messy twelve million euros.

The clubs now have not queued for Suarez and will therefore do no more than twenty million. In the league he is the star player, but abroad know trainers and clubs it is not such a big status. The management of Ajax is now a poker game with the Uruguayan as effort and the risk of a major financial mistake and sporting loss is great.

*From de telegraaf today. Seems Suarez is really pushing the move.

From Goal.com:

Liverpool's Lucas Leiva has been urged to join Villarreal by compatriot Nilmar.

The Reds midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club as he faces tough competition for places from Steven Gerrard and a revitalised Raul Meireles.

Midfield anchor Christian Poulsen has also been back in the team under Kenny Dalglish, and there is speculation that Blackpool's Charlie Adam could add to the competition at Anfield.

Villarreal has been reported as a possible destination and the Spanish side's Brazil striker Nilmar has revealed that Lucas has quizzed him about life at the club.

Liverpool's principal transfer target, Luis Suarez, has spoke of his disappointment at his current club Ajax not accepting a bid for him.The Uruguayan forward has been the subject of a euros 15m bid from Liverpool, but Ajax are seeking closer to double that figure for their coveted top goalscorer.

Suarez told Dutch radio station Radio 8 FM "I am very disappointed that I can not play at Anfield. And I feel cheated by the actions of the leaders of my club, because they refused any compromise to be made for this transfer."

"Now I have a very small motivation to play for Ajax, " he added.

Talks between Liverpool and Ajax are said to be ongoing, despite the huge difference in valuation, with Liverpool hoping the Dutch side will lower their demands after the player signaled his intention to leave the club.

Suarez has scored seven goals in 13 league games for Ajax this season.

@27 Jan 2011 17:41:54 Liverpool Rumours LFC1 "Sorry to disappoint, but KK has already stated that it would be difficult to sign anybody this window, which puts doubt on liverpool actually being able to compete in the market at this time."

Kenny is a wily old fox and all he says about transfers and transfer activity in public is designed to do one thing and one thing only - confuse you. Look at the other morning - "Babel is going nowhere". By tea time Babel was in Lederhosen eating bratwurst and his after match interview last week when the commentator asked him about transfers "Do you think I'd tell you if I did know".

You won't get any sense, hints or clues out of Keeny - he's too shrewd for that.

Macca,

I am with you on this one, I am growing more in faith as it has all gone quiet - except for Ajax's supposed press comments. I think WE will sign Suarez - £21 mil, bargain.

I am also hoping we get N'Zogbia, prem experience and a good player. He would flourish with a team of quality around him. NOT saying he is world class mind you! !

TURAN to A Madrid for such a small fee! Really Eds? Is this true do you know?

It states in press if Adams falls through we may sign Matuidi, can't we just sign Matuidi anyway as he would fit the team better as Def Mid?

Thanks Eds

I told you that we are interested in Suarez before anything was mentioned in the press.

I also know that Commoli was at the Wigan game the other night watching N Zogbia i believe.

With regards Hodgson, i told you he was leaving before the Utd game.

The info i pass is 100% genuine but i cannot guarantee we will sign these players because circumstances change.

Hi there, not a rumour, however ed's please do post this to the rumour site.

I heard a football writer from the Telegraph on Talk Sport a few weeks back. He was sayin (the TalkSport people veryifying) that he was a close friend of KK. This was two days before Steve Clark was officially appointed as our trainer. The Telegraph chap said a recognised scottish number two would be coming. He seemed to know. .

so my question to all on this site is, does anybody follow any of the Telegraph football journalists on Twitter? I am not on Twitter so hoped you guys or eds may see what is being said there?

Please post this on the rumours site Ed.

I seen Shaun Wright Phillips drinking in the Vincent Hotel last Saturday night in Southport. Its also doing the rounds in Southport now that he was looking at houses in Formby over the weekend.

Has anyone heard anything about his possible signing?

I can't see him going to the bluenoses with his wages so can only realistically see him being linked with us.

You have to put yourself in Ajaxs shoes, Knock out stages of the CL so if you have to sell your best striker, get as much as you can so that the players replacment is not cup tied.

Didn't Ajax get knocked out of the CL in the group stages?

Since when are Ajax in the CL knockout stages? The rumour about a get out clause sounds plausible, as why would we be such cheeky f*ckers to offer only £12m.

Also, for all those complaining about Ajax/ Blackpool, remember how we played RM along for the Alonso transfer - we got £30m out RM doing exactly what Ajax/ Blackpool are doing to us.

Was at the game last night and watched Joe Cole getting very annoyed at not being brought on. When Kenny brought Aurelio on Cole stormed past the bench and down the tunnel. He came back but obviously never got on and went straight back down the tunnel at the end. Not a happy chappy and i think he could well be looking to leave if he can.

Just something I heard some time ago, (Sorry can't find any references/ quotes), but Adams' is apparently in dispute with Blackpool about some unpaid bonus from last season. If this correct & he wins his case, then his contract becomes void/ cancelled & therefore can leave for free. Has anyone else heard this? {ed's note - was this not resolved before the season started? He apparently got a guarantee of being allowed to leave for a big club at the same time, hence him being upset at Blackpool not allowing him to leave to join Liverpool.}

Looks like liverpool are getting rid of all the deadwood before making new signings as john henry wants to lower the wage bill:

konchesky - fulham [done]
babel - hoffenheim [done]

poulsen - monoco have bid 2.5m
jovanovic - wolfsburg have bid 5m
cole - could be loaned to westham

my only worry is that if we get injuries we don't have replacements for these players!

Ed, what's your view on BBC sports report that Jose Morihnio has said he wants to return to England in the Summer?
Do you think this would alert NESV to the possibility of Jose taking the Liverpool managers position? Would love Kenny to stay, as all reds fans would, but surely NESV would have to seriously concider his domestic and European record? And if approached, would it be a challenge Jose would welcome? {ed's note - I hope not, if we are reduced to cheating our way to victory I would be disappointed.}

AS Monaco are chasing Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen.

Le Parisien says Monaco are hunting for a new midfield signing before next week's transfer deadline falls.

The French club have a shortlist of names - with Poulsen their top target.

Poulsen has endured a difficult time at Liverpool since his arrival from Juventus in the summer, but Reds boss Kenny Dalglish insists the Dane can still be a success in England.

Monaco have the spending power to convince Dalglish to cash in on the midfielder. Tribalfootbal.com

The tactics that Ajax are playing in these negotiations are all wrong. They are struggling financialy so they overprice their player. Understandeble up to a point but at the end ot the storm they will loose. Fact: Suarez wants this transfer! If a deal goes through they will never get the asking price and they will be seen as desperate for money. If a deal is not done they will have on their hands one frustrated player who will just wait untill summer to make his move. And under these circumstaces it's hard to get motivated to do what he does best, scoring goals!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In reply to this. . either scenerio 1: Its easy to work out! If i'm selling a car i'll put it up for an amount more then what i'm willing to accept for it, the same if i'm selling a house, and in this instance its the same selling a player! or scenerio 2, the player is under contract and is a player who is valuable for them i.e. scores plenty of goals ( the aim of the game of football! !) therfore they are in no rush to sell him therefore either he stays and continues to be an Ajax player which they will be happy with, or he goes for a large amount of money which also they will be happy with, i.e. win/ win situation!

Whether it is FACT or not that Suarez wants to leave, he is under contract! !

Therefore we are in 1 of 2 positions, either we do want to sign Suarez, in which case we will offer a larger amount and hopefully an amount both clubs accept, or we are not that bothered by him unless he came at a bargain price in which case we will not make any further bids!

I can bet my bottom dollar that no-one outside of Liverpool football club knows which position we are in and therefore we will all have to wait patiently! I'm sure they are trying to do the best for LFC!

I think that is probably about right ed?

Kk said this: The finance is there. Everything is in place but it's difficult to get players out of other clubs at this time, " said Dalglish.

"If we do not get anyone it is not for the want of trying." tell me if im wrong ed but if we did have the finance why are we bidding 12.5m for suarez and 4.5m for adam that is just laughable, unless kk means we have finance of under 15m so we are trying to get classy players for peanuts when in truth we can only afford lower league players. ed not sure if u posted how much do u think adam and suarez should cost, my figure for them both is £26m-28 what do u think ed: gezza1982

{editor: Suarez - £14-18m and Adam - £4m. There is no way on this planet that Charlie Adam is worth £14m!}

Kenny also said Babel was staying and he would build Konchesky up. .

Common Ed, get real. No-one is saying Adam is worth 14m, but at least 8-10m not 4m. Suarez is easily worth 20m. Its a smokescreen - we were never gonna sign anyone.

I have heard that Liverpool and Ajax cannot agree a fee for Suarez.

Negredo does not want to be second choice.

Liverpool have had any bids for suarez rejected, they have been in discussions with ajax but have not bid for the player cause the discussions have not reached an agreement on the players valuation . ajax are willing to sell suarez due to their statements in through the media about liverpools pursuit of the player .liverpool will wait till the last minute of the deadline set by ajax to make a bid for the player , if rejected we will wait till the summer. not sure on the charlie adam situation, we are miles apart on the valuation of the player .but at the moment the adam deal looks the most likely , a bid of about 6-7 million should get him.

You can look for a good price but as with everything in life basically you get what you pay for. {ed's note - you are talking complete crap, they paid over the odds for a club on the verge of administration, if you can't see that then I fear for you.}

Eds, i don't see how they paid over the odds? Liverpool are always in the top ten in football for revenue, yes man utd are usually in the top 3, but they are valued at over a billion! So i think NESV did get a good price on our club, im not agreeing though that they are in it for the short term but the price they paid was relatively cheap. . Maybe that's why they feel 12.7m is enough for suarez?

Chris

Do you not this with the impending departure of Konc back to Fulham to make his mum happy and Bryan Rabble shipped off to David hassle-hoffenheim that we are desperately light weight on the left?

with best intent we are playing a right back at left back, a right mid at left mid.

i know the KD wanted to reduce the squad size but surley there are more valuable assets the club can shift on (namley Cole).

Believe it or not but Ian Holloway is the Blackpool manager, Blackpool being the club who pays Charlie Adams wages and have a binding contract with him for the next 18months. So for this reason they are perfectly entitled to hold onto the player not matter how much he wants to leave!

Obviously surez only gets as cheap £18-£20 mil. If the owners can't come back and make this kind of offer this means we will never get him at all. because in summer many teams will be looking for strkers. and there aren't many quality strikers around. look at what sundurland payed for Bent.
It is very good that they are trying to get the best possible deal, but if they think that £20 mil is overinflated for Suraz then they were never serious in investing high on a quality striker, they are looking for bargain buys, these kind of situations never come around too often. how many transfer markets do we have to wait until we find a real partner for torres. in every transfer market, the strikers we are going for seem to be too expensive for us.
you don't buy a club in crisis and expect it to be self sufficient on day 1. when you buy a club like liverpool, and if you want it on the top again, you have to allocate a real budget for rebuilding the squad. If Ajax didn't reveal what we bid, we would have thought liverpool bid £20 mil and that the market was overinflated, then we will go on to say our owners will invest, we will get this super star in summer and so on. but now i don't think so. we will probably buy some unproven talent for a burgain price just like a mid table team.
ed for the first time i am starting to think you were right. we never serious about suarez deal. your thoughts on this?

Why do people keep moaning about inflated prices when everyone knows that's how it generally works in january unfortunatley and the fact is we do need to strengthen our first XI so if it comes down to paying slightly over the odds then so be it lets just get on with it, we can't afford to wait till the summer if we buy now we should quite comfortably get europa league as a minimum but if we don't bring anyone in i'd say top ten at best, regarding the suarez deal yes everyone knows ajax have said 30m euro but we all know he wants to leave and has said his mind is not on ajax anymore so lets offer £20m which i don't think is over the odds anyway and see what ajax say, we don't need adam i'd rather see nzogbia come in along with warnock and then i think we'd have a strong finish to the season.

Liverpool have tabled a new bid of £16.2m for Luis Suarez with addons which based on performances could increase to £19m.

Suarez has once again asked for his club to open talks again with Liverpool and a deal is likely to be done tomorrow providing Ajax are happy with this improved offer.

The offer is still below their valuation so it is far from a done deal. Liverpool are ready to move on from Suarez this weekend if Ajax reject it to ensure a striker is bought in before the deadline on Monday.

A daily mirror article today reckons we have pulled out of the Suarez and Adams deals. I believe this is close to the truth; unpallatable as it may, we are not buying anyone this transfer window.

What are we going to do if Torres gets injured (very likely) now babel has gone play ngog as a lone striker? How obvious is it we need a new striker! We should have signed some one at 00:01 on the first of January! If suarez doesn't sign we are going to struggle to score against the small teams! Never mind the likes of arsenal manure etc! Now we are not in debt surely we should have money to spend. . We have not spent big money without selling first for years! !

{editor: Suarez - £14-18m and Adam - £4m. There is no way on this planet that Charlie Adam is worth £14m!}

Its a disgrace that the Blackpool manager who says that Liverpool does not respect the value of their player yet he applys double standards holding up the players career for his personal financial gain who is showing respect

Here's a rumour, perhaps an unpopular one. We're not getting anyone this transfer window. I for one have been watching this site intnsely for the past couple of weeks and would love to see someone new at the club. Only if they are right though, best we save our money till the summer if we can't find the right player.

A lot of papers reporting that Poulsen may be going to Monaco on free. How could this happen? Surely he's not bad enough to lose all that money on.

No matter how many exclamation marks you use, I'm not going to get excited. I'm suffering from a new disorder- I've got PSS fatigue. (Pre Suarez Signing)
We have maybe two more days before we know one way or the other.

Quote from serie A weekly says Aquilani has become essential to Juve's campaign, playing a slightly deeper role and has 90% pass completion rate over a wide variety of ranges.
Another stroke of Roy's genius- all that time taken last season to get him up to PL speed, and just when he's looking good, we get rid of him.
I remember one Ed saying he wasnt happy in England, but we'd have done a damn sight better with him around at least for this season, than one or two MFs I can think of.

"look how quickly the bent deal was done ."

The reason the Bent deal was done so fast was because Villa paid way over the odds for a player that is only slightly above average. Reality is he's really worth no more than about 12-15M. NESV/ FSG are taking the right approach not to give in and pay over the odds. Adam is worth no more than 5-6M and Suarez is worth 15-18M tops.

RED LENIN

Totally agree with Bent being over priced although he could be the difference between Villa staying up or going down, which is probably why they paid such an inflated price. If his goals keep them up then it's probably been a good bit of business. The extra money paid for him will most likely far outweigh the revenue Villa will lose by going down.

For this same reason I think it's critical we bolster our squad with one or two players, I'm not saying we need huge marquee signings, the main rebuilding of the squad can and will be done in the summer. I do however think that a couple of good players will help us make it to a european spot in the league.

If that means we have to pay slightly over the odds for a player then I think it would be money well spent. For one it will show our intent, and secondly, and more importantly, it will help our squad push on for european qualification. Surely the revenue the club will generate from this will outweigh the extra we have to pay for the players we want.

I think Dalglish has done a fantastic job in a short space of time and i'm positive things will get even better under him, but I still feel one or two additions will give us that final push.

I would be perfectly happy with just Honda as our signing this window, do whatever it takes to get him it will be worth it. He can provide width as well as being a backup to Torres along with many other positions he can play.

Fingers crossed that he is our main target - hence why things have gone so quiet on that front.

Hey ed, is there any more news whether Jova is on his way out? If so, surely this would signal us bringing in a wide player or two? I think last night highlighted moreso than usual how desperate we are for some genuine width.

Hi ed, love the sight and think your comments are spot on!

1. ed you thought we never had a bid in for Suarez, now you are commenting on the subjekt is that because there has been a bid?

{Editor's Note: There is more than one Ed - and there is no question that Liverpool made a bid for Suarez - albeit a very low bid.}

2. Could the backtrack from AM on the selling of Aguero to Chelsea be because there not getting Honda?

{Editor's Note: Doubtful.}

3. Is Adam really comming, I mean everything over 10 mill we should back off.

{Editor's Note: Possibly.}

First up just want to say thank god the suarez rumours have finally calmed down, i was beginning to hate the guy! anywho, just want to know if anyone has any developments on the new stadium or has it taken a back seat for the time being?

Secondly could ed or anyone "in the know" tell me if we have any interest in bastos? i personally think hes exactly what we need and can play anywhere on the left flank. peace

mrZ0NES {ed's note - the stadium issue is being re-examined, wouldn't expect a decision until after the CEO is settled in and had time to look at it himself. As for Bastos, I haven't heard anything myself, I will ask the other editors if anyone else has and if there is anything post it up for you.}

Actually they have ronaldo too, and b4 u say hes not a striker on the real madrid official site, on his profile they have him down as a striker so there u go

The LFC site says that Kelly is a central defender and Kuyt is a forward. It also says Konchesky is a defender, so official sites don't mean a lot - LIVERPRES

Liverpool have been told by Ajax that they have until Saturday to finalise a deal for Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, having already had a £12.8m bid rejected. The Amsterdam club are holding out for £21m.

Taken from BBC Sport Website.
£12.8m is an appalling offer as I'm sure everyone here would agree, I would expect Liverpool to re-offer tomorrow or friday with an offer of around £18 with £3mil in add-ons. We still stand a chance in signing Suarez and after Saturday, we'll definately know whether we'll have the famous striker or not. Until then lets just keep a cool head and not stress about rumours from more unreliable sites.

You agree ed?

RMD
Y.N.W.A {ed's note - personally I think you are right, it is far too much for an unproven player with a suspect temperament that the club has to sell.}

I HOPE YOU DO POST THIS ED
I'M GETTIN A LIL SICK OF CHECKING BACK LATELY TO SEE IF ANYTHING DECENT HAS COME UP
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP POSTING ABOUT 'BENZEMA' HE IS NOT COMING ON LOAN OR AT ALL
'MOURINHO' WENT PUBLIC 3 WEEKS AGO SAYIN HE NEEDED A STRIKER ON LOAN DUE TO INJURIES IN HIS STRIKEFORCE
WHY WOULD HE SEND A PLAYER OF THAT CALIBRE OUT WHEN HE NEEDS COVER URGENTLY
'ADE' N 'BENZEMA' ARE THEIR ONLY STRIKERS FOR NOW

DID HAVE A LAUGH AT THE FACT 'ADE' WENT TO HIS MEDICAL IN A MAN CITY POLO SHIRT THOUGH :D

actually they have ronaldo too, and b4 u say hes not a striker on the real madrid official site, on his profile they have him down as a striker so there u go {ed's note - but he plays behind the main striker.}

hes classed as a striker and can play as a striker also so they still have as strikers, , higuain (injured) benzema, adebayour and ronaldo {ed's note - it doesn't matter as Mourinho plays with one main striker up top, which Ronaldo doesn't do. So they have two strikers for that position, not three.}
