Hi ed, there seems to be a lot of rumours today about Xabi Alonso returning to anfield, is this pure fantasy or is there any substance to this, have you heard anything. Would love this to be true. {Ed001's Note - this is due to him not getting on with Jose, but it looks like Jose will be off in the summer now anyway so I doubt anything will happen.}

27 Apr 2011 23:32:24
Ed can you confirm any of the Defour situation above am I right? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware you are correct.}

So long for the "he is interested in a move to Anfield" comment lol. {Ed001's Note - hopefully he is, his club have resigned themselves to losing him in the summer.}

27 Apr 2011 22:55:11
Ey ed002 how much could we nab borini off you for? {Ed002's Note - You can have him for nothing - he is out ofd contract in the summer.}

27 Apr 2011 23:10:38
To the guy who said Defour has just signed a new contract who told you this?

Liege are resigned to losing Defour this summer and his agent has already held talks with Benfica. Comolli has also contacted Liege regarding Defour but unsure if a bid has been made/ agreed.

Therefore you are way off on him signing a new deal

Ed can you confirm any of the Defour situation above am I right? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware you are correct.}

27 Apr 2011 22:53:46
Navas, Jarvis and Downing to be the three wingers that will arrive. Witsel, Sahin and Mautudi will arrive to add steal and creativity to the midfield. Bains to be the new LB and one of Defoe, Wolfswinkel, bemzema or lavezzi to sign. Spending will around the 65m-80m mark with around 30m being recouped the player sales.

Reina
Ramos, Pique, Tiago Silva, Coentrao
Navas, Gerrard, Xavi, Ronaldo

27 Apr 2011 22:48:55
I see whiskey nose has lined up a good replacement goalkeeper in Neuer.

27 Apr 2011 22:35:54
Hey Ed, just read rumours regarding Lavezzi. His agent claims we've been watching him for a year now. you think there is a chance of signing him and do you think he'll be a good signing? Cheers Ed. {Ed002's Note - There is a chance. I am by no means certain any interest will be followed up.}

Whats with the Phil Jones rumour. He has to be one of the worst centre halfs in the league. He's slower than Richard dunne and 2 stone overweight.

Kenny wants to play pass and move football, I can see him buying:

2x class attacking players that keep the ball, pass very well and move with pace i.e. from Hulk, Turan, Augero, Lavezzi, Jovetic, Navas, McGeady, Perotti, Marin, Gervinho.

1x very good crosser i.e. from Larsson, Downing, Young, Dzsudzsak.

1x very good front striker i.e. from Llorente, Benzema, Gomez, Falcao, Muller, Gameiro.

27 Apr 2011 22:25:57
Mr em re forlan, they did laugh but now they are posting the rumour regarding forlan joining, so they aint laughing anymore its now becoming a topic! think it would be a good signing for you lot? yea he failed before but this time he would have suarez his fellow countryman but he knows how to play with him! ! also the price! the price your bounding around around the £16 mill mark is well off it should be about £8 mill mark

27 Apr 2011 22:20:00
After sitting through 90 minutes of "El Classico or as I like to call it El Pieceofcrapio" I want Jose Mourinho no where near our great club. This man has absolutely no class & I pray that Ed002 is correct in his belief that he will never manage our club.

27 Apr 2011 21:47:24
Hey Ed I see even with injuries Gago can't get a look in at Real. I would go for him what do you think

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - There are other priorities, but there is a chance he may be available and links to Roma have been denied.}

27 Apr 2011 21:38:40
Messi's being lined up ;)

27 Apr 2011 21:21:02
Being a spurs fan i chatted to a former fa cup winning captain i asked about two players we were linked with in forlan and adam the player told me adam was a done deal to liverpool and that forlan was to be their 3rd striker and also link up with fellow country man suarez, i did post this last week and should be on archive?

A couple of questions for the Ed's of anyone else who wants or knows the answers or some imformation please:

1) When is Kenny going to become the Liverpool manger full time or have the Yonks got someone else they are lining up? As i can't believe that they havn't taken him on full time yet. If another club had the same up turn in results as Liverpool have had, then they would have made the position full time by now. (Well maybe not Bury)

2) Why aren't Liverpool after Turan as Kenny is a big fan of his, i think he is a better player then most of the wide players people have been talking about and i think he would be alot cheaper then most other options. Also he would jump at the chance to play in the premiership instead of Turkey.

3) Are my questions linked? As kenny isn't full time manger, then the club owners will not chase Turan. Have they got someone else in mind for the full time post, who doesn't what Turan?

Really hope Kenny keeps the job full time, because that would be the best signing this summer. Better then over priced footballer.

Basil {Ed002's Note - (1) Comolli was tasked with finding a new manager and I suspect it is Dalglish's if he wants it. We know there have been talks already. There is no rush at all as he is contracted until the end of the season. (2) Obviously we do not know why Liverpool are not interested. He will be moving in the summer with Atletico Madrid and Valencia likely destinations. (3) The "should we go after player x" decision process will likely involve, Comolli, Comolli's scouting team, Dalglish and no doubt input will be sought from the coaching team. If they agree that they wish to pursue a particular player they will then have to mae a case to the Board (assume Tom Werner) who will be OK to release the funds.}

27 Apr 2011 20:26:21
Missed out again on two palented youngsters in gabriel and guillherme (brothers from brazil), but we where linked with them so looks like our scouts are finding talent but we just aren't acting as quick as we should. another indecation that we overthink tooo much about players and their ability to adapt to the prem.

27 Apr 2011 19:39:01
Lavezzi joining in summer , were on good terms with napoli after the sale of dossena to them last summer we will offer 25m for the argentinian attacker

front 3 of Suarez Carrol Lavezzi

Possibly the best strike force in the prem and one to compete in europe

27 Apr 2011 19:23:54
Liverpool will offer around 7 million for diego forlan in the summer.same guy who told of benitez leaving 48 hours before reported on ssn.believe me?couldn't care less.its the truth.not my choice but that's who we will bid for striker wise. .

BREAKING NEWS - - - BREAKING NEWS - - - BREAKING NEWS - - -

SSN, The Daily Telegraph and several other big newspapers have reported that Liverpool are NOT interested in signing Chelsea legend FERNANDO TORRES.

Reports say that Liverpool wouldn't like to sign the Chelsea legend as he is JUST TOO GOOD. He has been in fantastic form recently and it's no wonder that he wouldn't attract attention from clubs like Liverpool as he is so good he might destroy the whole of the Kop when he shoots.

Is it just me that would consider this a good summer transfer window for Liverpool Football Club:

CB: Roger Johnson from Birmingham City, £8m max.
LB: Leighton Baines from Everton, £10m max.

CM: Charlie Adam from Blackpool, £12m max.

WG: Ashley Young from Aston Villa, £18m max.
WG: Adam Johnson from Manchester City, £14m max.

All good British-based players, the sort Kenny Dalglish could get the best out of.

ST: None. Promote Dani Pacheco. Already got good enough strikers in Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt (if needed)

£62m but with about £20-£25m from player sales. £37-£42m spent. {Ed007's Note - You were doing ok till you said £12m for Charlie Adam there as well lol}

Some day LFC will have to feild a first 11 team without Gerrard or Carragher.
The loss of these 2 influential players was always going to hit LFC hard as they were seen by many as irreplaceable.
Liverpools current demise could be a result of the Carragher+Gerrard era coming to an end.

On the subject of Phil Jones/ possible targets for the defence, does anyone know how Ayala is getting on?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

On the official LFC site there is a thread posted. There is a link to the Derby forum where this exact question was posed by a LFC fan. Looks like we got a serious player here in Ayala. May still be a year away but he's close. Mostly positive feedback on there but unless you see him regularly it's hard to tell and it is Championship footie.

I'm currently working at Darsley Park near Whitley bay, this is Newcastle's training ground, Enrique has been sold to a team in the north west, Liverpool, I have also been told today that Newcastle has been sold by Ashley and they are considering an offer for Tiote. All from Geordies working with me.

Ed, do you think we are looking to sign Sahin from Dortmund. I hope so, he is quite good and several people say that he has a 6m buy-out clause in his contract. has he? How much do you rate him out of 10. Thanks alot. .

{Ed002's Note - Watzke has made it clear that his price will be €20M and up and that there has been firm interest from Real Madrid. Enquiries have previously been made by Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan and AC Milan – although I am told that interest from both Milan clubs is waning. Dortmund have a replacement ined-up in Nuremberg’s Ilkay Gundogan so it looks like Sahin will be moving. If Liverpool are interested, which they do not appear to be at the moment, then he will not come cheap.}

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of anyone but am informed it is very likely Adebayor will make the move to Real madrid.}

Interview on SSN the with Guillem Balague, to make a long story short , at the end he said Real have signed 2 players

I think Adebayor will sign myself . Would you be able to get back to me on the other one Ed
An with Adebayor signing do you think Benzema will leave

Have it on good authority that Kaka will be avialable from Real Madrid as he is unhappy at Madrid and not Jose's first choice, so I believe he will be available at around the £40 million mark, and will be the so called 'marquee' signing FSG are looking at.

The Rectangle {Ed002's Note - Man I love this stuff.}

27 Apr 2011 17:11:47
Ed who is the two players Real have signed
An will go to them in the summer
Cheers Ed

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of anyone but am informed it is very likely Adebayor will make the move to Real madrid.}

27 Apr 2011 17:09:28
Diego Forlan would be a great signing for a couple of years as third choice striker, formed a great partnership with suarez at international level and is out of contract at athletico so would be cheap.
marquee signing has to be alonso comin home.
UP THE REDS KING KENNY.

{Ed002's Note - Diego Forlan has a couple of years left on his contract and would likely cost £15M. I really don't see the owners spending £15M on a 32 year old.}

Hi all ed's i don't know about you lot but the idea of
barton and i know he's been trouble in t past but he's
seamed to have calmed down a bit, i mean he's constantly fouled and not biting anymore he's been tested all season and now getting better and better at crossing, knows corrol like the back of his hand, he
would love to play for the shirt and we put all are trust into carroll and suarez both who have similar past to barton i know people will say they don't but their records for offenses look pretty similar to me.kenny would get the best out of him also, being the man he is
and not to high in wages lots of plusses some minuses
to but worthy of consideration.

Liverpool are after phil jones of blackburn and ezequiel lavezzi so the papers say.
bit slow on the uptake i posted this a month ago

MYSTIC RED"

I honestly can't see the Lavezzi link being true. Surely he'd want to be a regular rather than a third striker and is far too similar in overall game (though poorer) than Suarez. For exactly the same reason i think all the talk of Aguero, even if he wasn't on monumental wages and wanted by clubs that can offer CL straight away, is far-fetched. We'll likely be looking for an up-and-coming forward who'll readily accept being used as cover, then we'll be sorted for strikers now Kuyt is taking a central role when necessary.

I still think the big money will go on established wingers, we don't want youngsters in those positions who'll block the passage of those we already have but need the finished article sooner rather than later. Of course i could just be talking out of my proverbial on a slow Wednesday afternoon though.

On the subject of Phil Jones/ possible targets for the defence, does anyone know how Ayala is getting on?

Out of these which defender would you prefer?

cahill
jones
kjaer
johnson
dann
sahko
huth
shawcross

any other please say who

what ya think eds, anyone else feel free to give your opinion

p.s id most like to have kjaer

p.s 2 defour has signed a five year contract with liege

{Ed002's Note - Johnson or Dann. As for Defour, the discussions with benfica came to nothing and there was no strong interest from elsewhere. I am guessing but he could still be available at the right price.}

27 Apr 2011 16:08:57
Liverpool have opened talks with Bolton over Gary Cahill, fee around £15mil plus Jay Spearing on a season long loan. Spearing get a full season of first team football under his belt, which well further his development like it did for Jack Wilshire.

Thorgan Hazard also been scouted from Lens. A deal likely to be set up for the summer. Heard he will be loaned back but is the future of Belgium football along with Eden Hazard. He will be an excellent signing for the future.

Tux

27 Apr 2011 15:59:04
Joey Barton would never be excepted by liverpool fans and I am sure this is a case of lazy journalism.I have heard the Payet deal was being negotiated, but talks have broken down. Do you have anything on this Ed? {Ed002's Note - An interesting thing cropped up about Payet this morning in that in addition to Liverpool and PSG, Lille are very keen on the player. Aside from that, zip.}

27 Apr 2011 15:52:16
Hey Ed, heard a rumour that Liverpool are trying to secure a double deal for Sahin and Kuba from Borussia dortmund. Heard that we can get Kuba easily enough but that United and Chelsea are looking to buy Sahin. Heard anything ed? {Ed002's Note - Sahin will likely be available but there is interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan (waning) and AC Milan (waning). Blaszczykowski may well be available but I do not know of interest in him.}

27 Apr 2011 14:22:38
Hi Eds,

Just a comment on the article on Commoli!

I don't really know enough about him to comment, but he was involved in the Suarez deal, so far so good for us! but my main point is that the St Etienne Chairman Bernard Caiazzo says he is hacked off because he didn't sign Koscielny, well in my book that puts his decision making on players up a notch because he is carp! ! ( I know he was probably thinking about the profit it has made but if it is his player judgement, I agree I wouldn't sign him either!) {Ed002's Note - Keep in mind that this is the Chairman of a mid-table St-Etienne speaking. And the money is a key issue for many French sides.}

27 Apr 2011 14:23:54
My source tells me that we have already rapped up the transfers for 2 Championship players:

1. Connor Wickham - Ipswich - 10 mil
2. Wilfried Zaha - Palace - 5 mil

Both deals will be announced next month. Both are great prospects for the future.

What do you think ED? {Ed002's Note - It strike me as unlikely at this time.}

From when Comolli joind Liverpool:

St Etienne co-chairman Bernard Caiazzo has sent out a warning to Liverpool that Damien Comolli proved to be detrimental to the French club.

Comolli left the Ligue 1 side to be appointed as the Reds' new director of football strategy. Liverpool are hoping he will unearth for them talents like Gareth Bale, whom he took to Tottenham Hotspur.

But his former employers across the Channel have a very negative view of Comolli's accomplishments, or rather the lack of them, during his time with them.

"Damien spent 22 million [£18.7m] of our money on seven players in summer of last year. Only one is a first-team regular now, " Caiazzo told The News of the World.

"We gave him the keys to our club and are now in financial difficulties while trying to make free transfers."

"We are not crying into our handkerchiefs.

"You need some humility in football and Damien was convinced he was right 100 per cent of the time. There was never any question of dialogue.

"Damien enjoyed total power in his first year with us. His was the last word on all transfers and that is how he wanted it.

"The manager at the time, Alain Perrin, had not even seen some of the players he was given. Damien was his boss."

However, Caiazzo insists that despite failing to sign the kind of players that Les Verts needed, Comolli spurned the chance to sign Laurent Koscielny for 1.5m [£1.27m]. The defender was recently transferred to Arsenal for a sizeable fee.

Caiazzo said: "His powers were much reduced in January after the failure of his transfer policy the previous summer - and he was not pleased.

"I would have fired him then but my co-chairman defended him for months, even when results were poor.

"I know he sees Damien's departure as something of a personal betrayal. It was a mistake bringing him back to the club.

"We do not have money to throw around and the players he signed for us have lost at least 30 per cent of their value.

"We lost the chance to make a lot of money, too, when Damien refused to sign Laurent Koscielny, for whom [Arsenal boss Arsene] Wenger paid more than 12m [£10.2m].

"Koscielny was in the Second Division with Tours, whose manager used to play for us. He said we should sign him. He'd cost only 1.5m [£1.27m].

"Damien told me that, if you signed Second Division players, you ended up with a Second Division team. So the player went to Lorient and made them a fortune instead.

"My own view of Damien is he favours size and strength as the qualities he goes for first. Perhaps, he will do better with more money at his disposal at Liverpool than he did with us."

ED, It say's on SS that we are looking at Joey Barton, do you know if there is any truth in this, he's a 28 year old thug!

I would hate to see him in red with the liverbird on his chest!

I hope these rumours about Joey Barton are true because for all his downfalls, he is actually a very, very good footballer, when he applies himself. he has been kept under control this season because i think he has finally learnt that if he wants to stay at his peak, then he has to calm down a bit. players have been trying to hack him down every game this year to provoke a response but he has just ignored it and had probably the best season of his career, could get him for about 5M which i think would be a bargain seeing as his link up play with Andy Carroll is superb. But ed's, do you really see this happenin, i mean, does it fit NESVs policy? i know it''s not all about policies but there has to be a limit on age. wage, that sort of thing? on to other rumours. i do believe everyone on this page believes that Ashley Young is a done deal, i however, do not. i think we will go into the summer and there will be a bidding war between us and man united which will effectively cause us to pay at least 20M for him, whether that means that they lose interest remains to be seen. i don't think we will get a new striker as we have Dirk back in form again and that front 3 looks in form, (Suarez and Kuyt supporting Carroll) i think the 3rd signing will be a CB and i'm not sure out of this 3 i would choose.

Cahill - good player and probably half way through his career, 20M way too much for this guy and i don't see bolton lowering the asking price.

Jones - i'd like to see this one happen because he's english and he's young. 15M seems way too much for a player of this age though and could be better spent elsewhere, if we can get the price down then i think this should be the one we go for.

Sakho - haven't seen alot of this guy but i've heard he's got bags of potential, i think the fact that he isn't british should make him second choice to Jones.

Aquilani, Konchesky, Jovanovic, Poulsen, Maxi and Cole will all be leaving the club which should re coup about 17-20M

So there we are, Young, Barton, and Jones in for a combined 35-40M and i think these will be the only signings of the summer 2011, what do you think ED's?

Scouserlewy {Ed002's Note - I would be surprised if Joey Barton moved to Anfield. It would be interesting to see what the reaction would have been if it were proposed under Roy Hodgson.}

Ed, Do u know if this supposed interest in Barton is for real?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest; but it does keep cropping up.}

27 Apr 2011 12:46:00
Ed can you answer me this who will have the major say on who gets signed this summer. Because it feels like we are paying over odds to sign players because they are english. Cahills price u can buy Thiago Silva a better more Agger like defender that I would prefer instead. Anyways I heard that we are Seriously looking at Perroti of Sevilla and Hulk of Porto. I really feel we need to go all out on a proven left back instead of One who was in the Championship last year. Contreao is great . Playmaker Leftback winger and striker and we should be good. Team for next year.

Reina
Kelly/ Johnson. Agger. Kjaer. Contreao
Meireles Lucas
Gerrard. Perrotti
Suarez. Hulk

{Ed002's Note - Damien Comolli, his scouting team, the manager (let's assume it is Kenny Dalglish) and his coaching staff will agree who they would like to make formal offers for and then a case will be put to the board (assume Tom Werner) who will authorise the expenditure. Before any formal offers are made Comolli or his team will have spoken with the players club about price and with the players representative about whether or not the player would be interested and the sort of deal he would be looking for. Keep in mind that a player will often ask for a package that includes tickets, flights back to his homeland etc.. I notice Carroll is not in your team.}

Balague on La Liga " Liverpool have a considerable amount of money to spend on a marquee player, but it's not Kun Aguero.
Myself I'd love to see us raid Bayern for Thomas Mueller and Frank Ribery.
Cissoko, Defour, Cahill and Nicky Maynard as back up striker.

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Joey Barton's contract situation at Newcastle, skysports.com understands.

Barton's future at Newcastle has been the subject of speculation with the midfielder yet to agree a new deal at St James' Park.

The news has alerted a number of clubs to Barton's possible availability with both Aston Villa and West Ham credited with an interest in the former Manchester City man in the January transfer window.

Now Liverpool are believed to be tracking Barton following his superb season for Newcastle this term.

With Barton entering the final 12 months of his contract at Newcastle this summer, the midfielder would be an attractive proposition for Liverpool as he could be available for a cut-price fee.

The 28-year-old has been Newcastle's standout performer this season on their return to the Premier League and he is widely expected to scoop the club's Player of the Season award.

for the love of god please no

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is thought to be drawing up his list of transfer targets and Barton could figure on it due to his success in linking up with Reds striker Andy Carroll while the pair were together at Newcastle.

Barton was the provider of eight of Carroll's goals at Newcastle this season prior to his move to Anfield in January and Dalglish could look to reunite the pair as he tries to get the best out of his £35million signing next season.

Barton has excelled in his right-side midfield role this season and he could be the answer to Liverpool's problematic right-wing position by adding some creativity to the midfield.

Kind of funny how everybody attacked me on here when i mentioned Joey Barton to Liverpool. I think the ed's will remember my post, i don't want him at the club even though he is a decent footballer, just his mad attitude is the problem.

Arsenal are willing to sell fabregas for 35mill. and i know its 90 % certain that if he leaves he will join barcelona , but can we put a cheeky bid for him. i know its wishful thinking but who are we without wishes. And even nasri is running in to his last year and he is not that old , skillful too. Liverpool should consider him.

what do you say ed?

{Ed002's Note - I'll get shot down again for this, but I don't see Fabregas moving to Anfield.}

Sky sports reporting today your after joey Barton. Why didn't that yonk just buy Newcastle instead? {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the owners of Liverpool. If the club are interested in Joey Barton, as **e***** has been telling us for months, then you need to take it up with Mr Dalglish.}

Hey Ed's. I don't understand why we would go in for Phil Jones. Although he is young and looks promising, surely we have enough talented youths at our club already who can play in the middle of our back 4

{Ed002's Note - I am not convinced either. For me Dann and Johnson would be cheaper and better options than Jones or Cahill.}

@ The blizzard

I wouldn't know anything about this "Thorgan" kid, though I do recall a post from yesterday, or day before, mentioning LFC being close to completing a deal for a young player in France.

Ed002 did say he might look into it. So have you heard anything, ed?
There's also one Cameron Park I heard we were keen on a couple of months back. He's said to play at Middlesborough and is apparently the latest of Boro's ever excellent left wing breeds.
Know anything about, him, ed?

You know, I wonder. Chelsea and United are picking a bunch of good players in Brazil, whilst we seem to be totally absent there.
Ed, do we even have a scouting network there, cause if we do, it's certainly not yielded any results.
This is so disappointing I must say.

Talking about South America, what's happening with the Argentine centre back Nicolas Otamendi? The last time I heard about him on here Ed002 was of the view that one of the Milan teams is his likely destination. Is that still the case?
It's all gone so quiet.

Fowler Bless Ye All
Cudroe
Ps: ed, you may wish to read the post again as you've probably forgotten about me other questions (like yesterday).

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, although Otamendi has only been at Porto a few months there is a lot of interest from Inter Milan and, now, Roma as well. It wilkl be interesting to see what happens. Obviously Thorgan Hazard is not French so the suggestion he was the player in question seems may be incorrect - although he does play in France. I don't know of any young French players who are attracting particular interest but with Comolli's previous activities it would not be unreasonable for someone to arrive. I know nothing of Cameron Park and in general I know little about lower league teams or players in England. As for South America, Liverpool will have someone representing them at the various U16, U17, U20 etc. championships that seemingly are ongoing at all times. I don't know how the scouting set up works there for Liverpool but generally clubs will use local experts. A number of clubs (Chelsea, Porto, Benfica, Palermo, Ajax and probably others) have their own dedicated scouting staff in South America.}

KENNY DALGLISH'S Liverpool are lining up a £15m summer move for Blackburn starlet Phil Jones.
Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli watched the centre-back face Manchester City on Monday.
The club are searching for a top-class defender to strengthen the Anfield squad and Jones, 19, would provide perfect cover for Jamie Carragher, 33.
Blackburn are desperate to keep hold of the England Under-21 international but are likely to struggle to block a transfer.
If Rovers are relegated, Jones £15m asking price could go as low as £10m.
this fits into nesv youth policy

Jones is a decent prospect but common 15m. Not even 10m worth at 19. How much is Kelly worth then? 30m?

We should bid 5m for Jones imo. Otherwise let SAF have him.

Hi guys,

I did say at the end of January that King Kenny was going to go back to 1 of his former clubs for a young player and I did confirm we did enquire about Phil Jones in January! This transfer appears to be back on after Monday nights game at Ewood Park where Liverpool personnel were spotted. A bid for 10m + add ons will be accepted and will be our first transfer in July.

I do have other news on King Kenny, Steve Clarke, Reina and Young.
Kenny and Steve will both sign 3 year deals before the end of the season after a meeting with Mourinho's agent brokedown over pay issues.
Reina will definitely stay for the next 2 yrs and Young has already signed a pre contract agreement with Man Utd in January (this is well known in Birmingham and Manchester)

My source is within the coaching team in club but that is all

Forget Harzard, Sanchez, Aguero, etc. . Hulk is the player, who Liverpool should sign.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Most realistic fans have forgotten the players above. Think I am going to add Hulk into that bracket too.

We want to find the next Hazard or Sanchez for a few million that would be worth 30m in a couple fo years. Not pay 30m now. Henry is a business man. Buy low sell high.

I don't think lfc will sign adam anymore. with spearing doing so well and talk of a few other big names. i can't see where he will fit in. the new way lfc are trying to do things i don't think they are looking at the middle so much apart from a holding mid.they want wings, a foward, cb.they are going to buy more younger players and bring them thru.

Morning Ed, is there any chance of us signing Coutinho and Canales this summer? Perhaps on a loan deal with a view to buy? Cheers

{Ed002's Note - There has been talk of another loan for Coutinho since January - he had only arrived at the club in the summer when he turned 18. It strikes me as very unlikely that Inter would sell. It is a similar situation with Canales and real Madrid. They may well loan him out, but would require that he plays when fit. I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in either player and you would have to ask yourself where would they would play if they could be obtained on loan - instead of Miereles, Gerrard? So possible, but not probable.}

The Liverpool football director Damien Comolli is setting up a plan to sign Jovetic from AC Fiorentina. The 22-year-old playmaker is valued at around £18 million, however Comolli has already started negotiations to take him to Anfield with an opening bid of £16.5 million.

27 Apr 2011 08:56:59
Our midfield looks very good for next season if we buy the rumoured players. We already have Gerrard, Lucas and youngsters such as Suso, Coady and Sterling to break through.

I do think Aqualani will come back as I don't feel Juve will pay the fee for him.

In addition the impending arrival of Sylvian Marvuaex from Rennes.

With strong rumours that Steven Defour is joining this summer our midfield could be

S. Gerrard
A. Aqualani
S. Defour
R. Mereleis
Lucas
S. Marvueax. (Sanchez)

With a marquee signing such as A. Sanchez of Udinese ( wishful thinking I know but so was Suarez in January).

This would be one he'll of a team. Possibly get Sergio Canales on loan from Madrid and we have a lot of quality and creativity in the middle, and the emergence of Sterling, Coady and Suso.

Ed could you see us having this midfield next August?

S. Gerrard.
S. Defour.
S. Marvuaex.
A. Sanchez.
R. Merelles.
S. Canales (loan).
Lucas.
A. Aqualani.
Suso.
R. Sterling.
C. Coady.

The future is looking good for LFC, I'm looking forward to next season already.

{Ed002's Note - Yes with the exception of Sanchez, Canales and Aquilani.}

I don't get alll this talk about Cahill costing 20m. No one in the right mind would spend 20m on a player that has got 1 year left on their contract.

We have met with his agent so surely we must have agreed a fee or we're tapping up. . Same applies to Adam, we met the player and agent last Thurs so that looks like a done deal.

Young is all but done and Enrique is very close.

We will target another ST- Llorente, Benzema, Aguero, Van Wolfswinkel are some names.

Shock bids for Bale and Wilshere which will be probably rejected.

And talks have taken place with PSV regarding Dzsudzsak.

27 Apr 2011 08:58:45
Liverpool have been scouting 17 year old Thorgan Hazard (Edens brother) from RC Lens youth team. He has a lot of potential and is available for around 2mil. He has been scouted since January, and I believe we will sign him then loan him straight back as he is on the verge of breaking into their 1st team.

So you sir think that I, who put together that bench didn't notice that there was no keeper? That the subs limit had been exceeded? Do me a favour, pal.

"{Ed001's Note - there is a chance, a very real chance.}"

Good that. As I said yesterday, although I'd primarily prefer Hulk (long have), this kid Lukaku is a no-brainer for me.
He can be just as good as Drogba. We'd get him for a million £ more what Chelsea paid for Drogba who at the time was 5/ 6 years Lukaku's senior.

In terms of age, talent, sell-on value and the NESV's criteria, he represents the best of some of the options bandied about (Llorente-£25m; Gomez-£22m+; Wickham-£15m).

So, ed, have we been talking with his (Lukaku) club or what? To what extent is the kid aware of our interest? Is/ would he be keen?

I think Kuyt will play a more central attacking role next year and so we won't buy a striker. Lucas has earned a new contract and these two are statistically gold dust to FSG and Comolli. From what i gather we are going for the league next year but are telling the media we aim 'within five years' to keep the pressure off. FSG have moved swiftly in all affairs with the club. Europa next year or not we revenue enough money to compete now that's why buying within the EPL makes sense, less risk with the player adapting and his development will be well known etc. Plus the home grown rule. YOUNG is most likely leaving Villa in the summer and LFC would be an amazing step up for him, and im sure we'll fill out the squad where needed and have enough depth and quality to potentially win every game. What do you think ed's?

*** BIG TRANSFER NEWS ***

Evenin Eds and fellow kopites,

very interesting news developing around anfield is that comolli is travelling to the copa america to scout talent believed to be either argentine or brazilian.

Unfortunately its not Neymar or Pato. . but it is Banega of Valencia we will be watching and also Lavezzi who Is believed to be sought after to fill the Tevez terrier like role.

We don't want him as an outright striker or wideman but more of a 3 pronged attack. . Carroll Suarez Lavezzi

That will allow space for Gerrard and maybe the arrival of A Young to whip in the balls from wide wher Lavezzi and Suarez could play great linkup.

Now Commolli hopes to tie up deals before they have an amazin tournament n their fee rockets. similar to how whiskey nose pulled off hernandez coup and parry made us miss out on david villa under rafa

What your thoughts EDS?

CHUCKA JULIUS YNWA * * * *

Just a couple of things. First, if he wanted to scout them, he could get an easyjet to Spain and Italy to watch them week in week out. Secondly, if he hopes to tie up deals before the tournament, why would he go out there to scout them after he would have signed them? And finally, the Hernandez coup was a player not widely seen or known by many fans. Can you honestly say that most of the football watching world don't know who Lavezzi and Banega are?
