Eds I heard a whisper about BR looking at bringing Ryan Babel back. Any truth in this u reckon? {Ed002's Note - No.}

It's rumours such as this that make me thank God for Ed002

Must be a loud whisper, this was covered on here a week agao...

Expect Swansea City striker 'Danny Graham' to join Liverpool as he is no longer in the managers plans.

Thought he was out injured hence why he's not been playing

So because he can't get into the swansea starting line up he will at liverpool?

He had an illness and couldn't play against us. that's all there is to it

What is it with everyone wanting the entire swansea team all of a sudden.

AC Milan already have El Shaarawy, current top goalscorer in Serie A and are rumoured to be interested in Balotelli. Add to that they have an owner facing jail time (which he probably won't serve) and are sitting 9th in the league. With Milan qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, no one will want to leave in January, but is there a chance Pato could move in the summer?

I would love to have pato, suarez, zarate/sterling & gerrard in attack. could be just as good as tevez, aguero, silva, nasri

Pato is dating Belursconi's daughter. His not leaving Milan

Forget Llorente, Huntelaar, Sturridge(thankfully) and especially Torres.

The striker coming in will be Darren Bent on loan from Villa, don't be surprised if we go for Mertens though. Although Bent isn't a 'world class' name, he does score goals.

Cue the beach ball jokes...

If true this will smack of desperation and highlight a complete lack of ambition by FSG and prove that they do not have the money to drive the club forward.

But i would be very surprised and annoyed if we buy him he is 28, 29 in feb and that goes against everything all the stubbornness that they showed in the summer would have been a big waste and would indicate FSG's stupidity.

PS. not FSG out rant just saying they are making Liverpool FC look like right mugs. {Ed002's Note - If Bent moves to Liverpool it will because the manager wants him - not FSG. They might be in a position to stop players arriving but I don't think there is any way they will be forcing players on to the manager.}

I totally agree. Let's just hope it's nonsense.

Bent world class?? That's why he is scoring so many goals to get Villa in the top four!

Since when did liverpool become a loan club plus if your looking for goals then why wouldnt we get huntelaar hes cheaper and a much better goalscorer

Fernando Llorente has dropped the biggest hint yet that he wants out of Athletic Bilbao - by saying he is desperate to end his barren run and leave his side as high as possible in La Liga.hope we are actively trying to sign him.

I do honestly think we could land Zarate and Huntelaar in this window for a combined fee of 15 million. That would be great business by the club to me.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is still interesting Juventus, Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal. Chelsea dropped their interest and I suspect that other clubs would be scared off by a transfer fee of more than £25M still being asked by Athletic Bilbao. There is a very good chance that he will move next year although there are talks continuing with Juventus over a January move, with the interest from Arsenal, Spurs and now Atletico Madrid ramping up. I would suspect that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a much lesser fee. Arsenal still maintain a very strong interest in Adrian Lopez as well. His alternative will be to sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down.}

How about Mauro Zarate for around £8m and Darren Bent on loan. so we have more money to buy a Striker we want in the summer.

That's less than £10m for a out and out striker and a Utility Forward that we were willing to spend a lot more money on 18-24months ago.

Along with a actual Fullback that can cover both Enrique and Johnson in Mario Sampirisi for around £4m.

selling downing to recoup at least £8m and invest some of it into Luciano Vietto for around £4-5m

I dont see how llorente will fit into the style of play BR wants to play. FL plays as a up top big striker just like AC.. So cant see FL joining. JB

If you think FL plays up top like a big lump, AC, then you have obviously never seen him play. He is one of the best at holding the ball up in the world; be it with his chest, head or feet. He is also an intelligent player who brings others into a side. AC is not a very intelligent player and his control is not nearly of FLs calibre. Add to that that AC cannot score for toffee (1 goal at WHU) and Llorente can.

I wouldn't want either at Liverpool next year but that is due to FL costing a boat load in Fees, wages and bonuses etc and AC as he just isn't good enough. Plainly put I would prefer Liverpool to look at getting a player who can be up there with the best IE Fierro, Damiao, Yesil. We have Suarez who is carrying us; with a bit more of goalscoring from the rest of the team (Gerrard, Suso, Sterling, Defence) we can actually do fine with just Suarez and avoid over inflated January sales (Carroll, Torres, Berbatov)

FSG are here for the next 16 years and not 16 months; 50m on Falcao would be nice now but the financial strain isn't worth it. I would rather have a club built over time than a team that plays for a few years before going bust (Portsmouth)

Ben

I certainly would like us to take a chance on Zarate. He's only still 25 and could develope into a great player for us.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Certainly a number of clubs have looked at Zarate in the past including Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs, Arsenal, Rubin Kazam, Spartak Moscow, Lille and Malaga. Certainly Lazio would like to be rid of the player would be willing to sell as he has neither settled nor performed well since his arrival. Given his less than good recent form he strikes me as an odd choice if there is current interest from Liverpool.}

I agree, I think Zarate along with a another striker or Winger(that scores and assists) to replace downing would be enough to improve us, as well as some fullback cover to compensate for loosing downing at lb as cover for enrique or johnson.

out
Downing - £8m
Cole - £2m

FWD: Zarate - £8m
ST: Rossi - on loan with option to buy
RWF: Ezequiel Schelotto - £8m
FB: Sampirisi - £4m
£21.5m

spending £11.5m - £15m

Hi eds whats the chances of tello either in january or next summer.think this lad is ideal for us {Ed002's Note - Barcelona have no immediate plans for the player under the new manager and the player is keen not to sign a contract before he knows where he stands and I suspect he will leave rather than stay with the B team. My understanding is that general enquiries about the player's availability were made over the summer by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. Discussions about loans of one type or another were raised by Valencia, Ajax and Atletico Madrid. I also understand that Benfica made a proposal to Barcelona - but I don't know what it is. I would hazard a guess that it could relate to Barcelona's interest in Nelson Oliveira. So there was clear interest from Liverpool but no easy way forward right now.}

Ed002, first off, thanks as always for the insight. Now, you said that Newcastle would likely make a low bid for Remy. They already have 4 recognized strikers. Surely with only one fit senior striker, we could match that bid and tempt the Frenchman to the Reds. He plays more as a wide striker anyway and would slot in well alongside Suarez in a front 3. Even if he's not a guaranteed starter, for the money talked about, surely we must be interested. To me, it seems plausible that we will at least make an inquiry in January. Thanks in advance for the reply! {Ed002's Note - I am sure that Liverpool could match any bid from Newcastle but (a) he is not playing well; (b) Liverpool has not shown any interest in him.}

Rodgers has previously mentioned moving for players that may not have been a glowing success elsewhere, but whom he feels could fit into the style of his team and ultimately prove a success. You generally don't have the Chelsea scouts interested if you're a bad player. For 7-8mil I'd have him in the squad at least.

4 recognized strikers?

If you think any of the Ameobi's are recognised Strikers then I am ashamed.

Obviously you have forgotten Liverpools injured Striker in Borini and the potential of Yesil and Morgan. I would rather see Yesil make 10 appearances for us than Remy make 15 as Yesil has the potential and Remy does not.

Just been speaking to John Ruddy in Pizza Hut in Norwich. Really nice bloke, I asked him if a move was on the cards for him...he said he didn't know but he was happy at Norwich. I asked about Liverpool but he has heard nothing - but stated he would loose a ball to be between the sticks for us. He should be a target this summer IMO.

Simon

Unfortunate trait for a goalkeeper , losing balls .

Definitely horse produce this mate. I served him in Costa, and he said "No milk, I'm lactose intolerant." So he would hardly have any cheese.

I'd lose a ball to play for Liverpool too. But it doesn't qualify me for the job.

- Something Red -

He can't even catch a ball, let alone lose one...

To loose or lose a ball, its a frightening perspective, either from a football or anatomical viewpoint. There's nothing worse than loose balls.......

Simon, Pizza Hut Norwich Branch Manager, with some cheeky marketing apparently.

John Ruddy in Pizza hut! Classic

RUDDY is a class keeper,and Norwich would drop to balls to keep him!

Its common to see a few NCFC players about town!
LOWESTOFT RED

I'd imagine he likes his Pizza Hut delivered!

Ive heard this rumour around Norwich,Just a mate said he was talking to his agent - Didnt really belive him but you just never know in football but I like Pepe though hes still world class.
WarnesTheRed

I don't eat cheese.

Paul Ruddy

Isnt he an ex Bluenose

27 Nov 2012 16:02:59
There is definate interest in ruddy! Could this mean reina
is off to arsenal?..maybe part of a deal for walcott? Like to know your thoughts edd02.
gazthered. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

Hi EDS, any possibility of some interest in Antoine Griezmann of Real Sociedad either in January or in the summer? Young, quick winger, definitely fits FSGs profile for a player to buy, as well as Rodgers' definition of a winger. Also heard we'll be looking toward Christian Eriksen or Isco in the summer? Much appreciated! {Ed002's Note - Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now. The kid has said that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon.}

26 Nov 2012 16:50:22
Hi Eds,
Wilfried Bony and Dries Mertens have both been reportedly monitored by Liverpool scouts.
Is this true? If so, are we looking to buy/loan in January/Summer? {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, but that is all there is at this time. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea.

I don't see Mertens moving to LIverpool in January. If he moves next summer I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there remains serious interest from Lazio.}

If you don't see Mertens moving to Liverpool, does that mean we haven't been scouting him? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool right now.}

Hope Bony goes to Lisbon to partner Wolfswinkel...

Hi eds and reds!

Eds and Reds quick question
If a player plays in CL before the window shuts in August and then he transfers to another club who's also in the CL,he is then cup tied,does this rule apply in January,if he switches clubs,he ends up been cup tied?

Reason why I ask this is cause I read somewhere that Hunterlaar is willing to pick the Gunners over us cause of them been in the CL,,I always thought once you played in CL at start of season you be cup tied and can't play in it again for another club during the season if you make a transfer...

Aneesh {Ed002's Note - A club may nominate one player in January who has previously played in the CL that season and will be allowed to play - if his team are no longer in the competition. However Schalke are still in the competion so if Huntelaar were to move in January he will not be allowed to play in the Champions League. Huntelaar has many options for January and I don't suppose for one minute that the Champions League is driving what he decides to do.}

No talk of him choosing anyone at the min in london! From what I hear there will be no movement in jan? I'm also told spurs remain front runner's? although I still think spurs will shop elsewhere?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed and there is no deal close to being completed. The situation remains that Schalke certainly do not want to sell Huntelaar as it is going very well for him in Gelsenkirchen and they want him to sign a two year extension to his contract - and he wants to only sign for a further year. This is the reason for the impasse. However, Schalke said that they would likely sell if he refuses to agree any contract extension, and he hasn't - although that threat was there in the summer and they didn't sell. Fiorentina, Juventus, CSKA and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest with Napoli and Lazio appearing as possible destinations if he were to move in January, but several EPL sides are still looking for a striker: Arsenal (although they have other clear targets I would not be surprised to see him being considered), Chelsea (again he is by no means near the top of the shopping list but could be attractive to the club as a second striker) Spurs and Liverpool - both of which are interested at the right price, but I fear not the most attractive of options that Huntelaar has available. There is a valuation based on a buy out clause of 20M euros that Schalke might want to try and exercise, but even with several interested parties it seems unlikely that they could attain such a fee. The player himself could opt to sign a new deal or run down his contract and seek a hefty signing on fee in the summer.}

26 Nov 2012 15:21:48
Hi EDS, any news on Loic Remy? I remember he was on our radar a couple of years back, and now his agent has said he is available for about £10m. Good player who is also versatile, could be a smart addition. Also, I realize we are 'interested' in Kevin Grosskreutz, but would Dortmund actually even consider letting him go? Saw them play pretty recently and he was vital...

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Newcastle will likely make a low offer for Remy in January.

Grosskreutz has previously said that he wants one day to play in England. Before the last January window noted, to the annoyance of Jurgen Klopp, that his dream was to play for Arsenal. This summer, before the transfer window opened he told the press that it was his dream to play for Liverpool. I am not aware of interest right now but Liverpool do appear to be looking for a wide player. Equally he is a starter for Dortmund so a move in January is perhaps unlikely.}

26 Nov 2012 14:02:55
Hi EDS ,just wondering what are the chances of getting bent on loan and maybe downing going back in the opposite direction on a loan deal as well? {Ed001's Note - slim to none. Bent is only going to happen if we get desperate.}

I would rather no striker than a really poor one

Define desperate. ie Not in need of Darren Bent?

Ed you say if we get desperate, do we already have targets striker wise infront of him who seem to be dead on targets for us? {Ed002's Note - You have been told repeatedly where interest is - read the posts please.}

26 Nov 2012 14:11:01
Hi edds have Liverpool shown any interest in bobadilla think he looks useful and may come cheap from young boys {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

26 Nov 2012 13:24:15
Eds,

1) From all the game this season, I can safely said that we really need at least 1 experienced quality winger and younger attacking midfielder.

Playing raheem/suso constently may have burn out effect.

2) Is Ricardo Quaresma still available? Any chance we get him on cheap?
I think its time for Liverpool to buy attacking winger with physical body advantage.

3)Our Jonjo is OK for attacking mid but his scoring record is poor. While he's playing gud on the pitch, at the end of the match we are looking for a result. Agree eds?

Kameel. {Ed002's Note - Quaresma has struggled somewhat since leaving Porto where much was expected of him when he was younger. Since leaving Porto he has been much lower profile and has had a number of clubs but not really settled. The rumours persist and he would, I expect, be reasonably cheap as Besiktas look to recover most of the 7.5M euros they paid for him - certainly they have little or no interest in him and would be happy to have seen him move on in the summer, but no one wanted to pay the price. In my opinion heading back to the Iberian peninsula would be a good move for him. To me, a club like Liverpool should not be looking at taking a chance on a player who has not been performing well.}

Exactly ed..
we looked players performing great and we bought them..
downing, caroll, henderson and adam..and look they have been trumendous right?? {Ed002's Note - That is the great advantage of taergeting folks like Rossi with long term injuries. They can't play so won't fail.}

26 Nov 2012 11:52:28
Eds, Your thoughts please on the comments made by Rodgers on transfers?

Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool do not plan to spend big money in the January transfer window.

"If we can get in the quality in the final third we need to support what we have, then there will be enough to keep the team moving forward," said Rodgers.

"But I am not so sure that will happen in January. This year the club wanted to balance the books and see where we are at.

"There has been big investment in the club and lots of players went out and a few came in during the summer, so we will look to do some business.

"But it is a thing which is evolving more slowly. The team is coming together and I can see improvement all the time."

Is this a warning they expect little or no business in Jan? or a ploy to stop teams upping the price when we come calling?

{Ed002's Note - My view is the same as it has always been. I expect that the owners will continue to support the manager. There is confirmed interest in forward players including one on loan - and I expect a couple to arrive. Those who were expecting £80-90-100M spent were always going to be disappointed.}

So basically those of us who expect the owners to invest and try to improve the squad to avoid remaining a mid-table side were always going to be dissapointed? If £100m is what it is going to cost then they either need to spend it or sell up to someone who will/can. Every year we are out of the CL makes it likelier we will never get back to where we should be. The owners are out of their depth and do not have the money to be Premier League owners of one of the biggest brands in English football. These guys got Randy Lerner written all over them. Don't be surprised to see Suarez sold if an offer comes in. We are a selling club under these owners. {Ed002's Note - Only four EPL clubs spent more than Liverpool net this summer - and one of those was Southampton. Last season only two clubs spent more. The owners have invested considerably in the club since they arrived but have to suffer whining, grizzling, bitching, entirely non-appreciative fans who do nothing but complain about them, the manager and all of the players. It has gone well beyond caring for the club as there seems to be little or no support for the club at all from many of the posters here.}

Just like they did with dempsey.

Sounds good ed002! Who is the player that we're interested in taking on loan? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - Jeffren.}

Ed is the one on loan Darren bent?

Thank you {Ed002's Note - Jeffren.}

Hey Ed

Any chance you can divuldge who these players are? Including the loan option? Was wondering also if a little Downing for Bent deal (perm or loan) maybe on the cards.

Cheers

Sisco {Ed002's Note - It has been dealt with at length. Please read the posts.}

Liverpool only need one striker in Jan with extreme quality i say shell out for Cavani and get a loan left winger and liverpool have the fire power to make a late run for 4th 30mil spent and get what you pay for!

Ed..I have never and will never question or threaten or abuse the owners..they have indeed spend over 120 mill in past two season which is remarkable..
So what in your opinion who is at fault?
The manager (KK) who has blown over 80 mill into sea water?
the players who once played best for their respective clubs before joining us?
or Us the fans whom you think should keep our mouth shut and see the joker in the circus?
Some fans here says...playing for a bigger club like liverpool is always a presusre and its not that easy..
So what shall we do? do we need to train the players before they arrive?
I mean look at van persie..went from arsenal to UTD..is performing naturally.
Giroud to arsenal performing quiet well.
hazard, oscar, mata.al coming from different league performing really well.
Victor mosses from wigan to chelsea is performaing well.
Y are the players purchased by liverpool needs 2.5 years time to settle and play well?

Need an opinion or views from you. {Ed002's Note - I don't think anyone is at fault per se. You could blame Dalglish for some questionable signings or blame Comolli for the fees agreed. As for the fans, I am not sure that there are many saying playing for the likes of Liverpool adds any more pressure than playing at any other high-profile club, but as you say there are plenty of examples of folks performing well. I can understand a certain amount of frustration but I really do feel that the constant attack on the owners and their spending is not something which is acceptable.}

In my opinion based on what puplic financial figures for liverpool regarding wages transfers income from competitions ect the past couple of years liverpool and BR should have about 5-15 million (depending on how greedy shareholders are) before sales in jan
to bring in a striker/wide forward player of which there are several potential options that could be available in our price range, personally i hope we can get some klass in.
other speculative things including need of a new LB with enrique now seen as a LM/W and selling the "deadwood" still at the club like downing and cole which seems more likely to happen in the summer. {Ed002's Note - This is just rubbish. The club has been hemorrhaging money and the responsible owners have been doing what they can to work to put the club on a strong financial footing. And you talk of "greedy shareholders".}

Okey, cheers ed002! Scouserseb

I agree the wages issue needing sorting but losing kuyt, bellamy and carroll and only really brining in borini as proper first team striker was their fault. {Ed002's Note - Why don't you make them aware of your opinion: defacing the ground, hate campaigns - do you wonder why they don't show up to games nowadays?}

How is it supporting by splashing 35 mil. for Carroll? More like stupidity. Why is difficult for them to give this amount for a proven player and give a decent salary? And don't tell us again that no one wants to come without CL. There are plenty of "superstars" who are not playing in CL. {Ed002's Note - Andy Carroll was not the owners' choice of player - he was Dalglish's. There are no neat pils of £35M laying around.}

Reading some of the posts here *shakes head* makes me wonder if they even know anything about football.

The modern game is as much a business as it is a sport so getting the clubs finances in order was always going to be the first priority of the owners. Getting rid of the likes of Kuyt was good business sense (older player on big wages who was the past not the future of the club).

Savings had and still have to be made in order to be financially competitive especially with the new Break Even rules set to come in next season in the PL and UEFA's FFP rules in the future. Redeveloping Anfield to increase matchday revenue means more cash to spend on players in the future etc. Why do you think that Chelsea and Spurs are desperate for new stadiums? As a member of the Arsenal board (cant remember which) recently stated that in 2 years time once debts are paid off that they will be able to compete financially with any club in the world and buy the best players available. Henry and co are following the same business model.

There is no quick fix to our clubs on/off-field problems, buying a better new player here/ selling an underperforming player there/ developing talented youngsters everywhere. It will take time but eventually it will come good. Everyone just need to have a little faith and btw, no my name is not John Henry

Ed 02, please stop being naive, is it so hard to see that though we can applaud FSG for saving us from the debts we had and what not, doesnt Abramovich do that for Chelsea??, doesnt the Arab guys do so for City??. Its not like they are stupid and dont want to reduce their debts. The problem with FSG is that they are not the "type" of Owners that most fans, me included would have wanted.

Let me make it clear this way, IF we got a Rich Arab or Russian as an owner, i do not think we would be complaining about anything right now. At the end of the day, FSG made the right choice in regards to Manager by getting a coach who wants his team to play a great brand of soccer, but their willingness to splash the cash regardless of other issues is what IS, WILL and FOREVER WILL BE costing us a Top 4 or even league title. If the owners cant cough up atleast 25-30M EVERY window then i just dont see how were going to compete with the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs who atleast are assured that much most windows, nevermind Chelsea and City. My point being, it doesnt matter whether FSG rid us of our debts, that can be done by ANY owner but the sticking point is, do they back the manager with sufficient funds??. A star striker ala Cavani, Falcao, Lewandowski etc costing 25-40M is what is keeping us from getting top 4 at the moment... {Ed002's Note - (1) I am hardly naive - I think you will find that just about everything I have ever said about the Liverpool owners, about Comolli being bad news, about Dalglish leaving etc has been correct. (2) It is nothing to do with Chelsea or Manchester City. (3) What "type" of owners do you want? Ones who have invested in the playing side of the club whilst trying to bring spending in line with the FFPR and operate it as a stable self-sustaining business - or would you rather have someone like former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra? How about Kenny Huang? If it is eventually sold through a floatation you could have some nice institutional investors as owners - one of those nice Turkmenistani banks perhaps? (4) Right so it is jealousy - you just want someone to throw a lot of money at the club? Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani wants out of Malaga - maybe he could buy Liverpool? Sacha Gaydamak might be looking for a new club. (5) Of the examples used - Liverpool has spent more than Arsenal and Spurs in the past three windows - perhaps the owners do stump up the cash after all.}

Greedy sharehoulders was probably the wrong use of words but not entriely untrue considering how owners of almost every single sports club on the planet are (except the splash the cash billionaires burning holes in pockets for tax breaks or whatever), they are running liverpool football club as a business are are trying to make a profit, the owners work has been good improving existing revenue streams ect, but other than a wage bill that has been consider quite high but still within tolerance since dropping out of the champions league places, there hasn't been any significant drain of funds. liverpools net spend on new transfers hasn't been much over the past seasons everyone thinks we spent 100's of millions, but we had a net spend of -5 million in the year torres left for 50m, and the following year the net spend under kenny was about 36m, this season under BR so far net spend has been about 25m
once again the greedy comment(probably meant more like how strict/tight fisted they could be with what they want to pay for transfers resulting in no action/not getting the right players in at the right time/before end of window) can't be dismissed as rubbish untill the transfer window anyway, if the owners decied to not fund anything and take a gamble on if the players will be cheaper/free in the summer (more likely to happen with our moneyball type owners). the owners want liverpool to be sucessful, which means more money for the club and for them (they would of earned it unlike the previous owners who were truely greedy)
but every type/style of running a club has it's positives and negatives. {Ed002's Note - You can't see it I know. How much of a loss did the club make in the owner's first year - £50M. How much was the loss for last year - probably similar. This year started off with more than £30M being spent of transfers and fees. Again top ten net spending world-wide. Higher net spend again than Arsenal and Spurs. It is futile the owners explaining anything to those fans that have no grasp of club finances nor about running a business.}

Cheers and thanks for the explanations regarding financing etc Ed0002
and an extra big thanks and cheers for your patience
john

So ed002 your saying that you think liverpool fans aren't smart enough to comprehend finance. i'm quite offended by that. {Ed002's Note - Actually that is not what I said. Perhaps you understand finance and struggle with the English lanuage.}

{Ed002's Note - Why don't you make them aware of your opinion: defacing the ground, hate campaigns - do you wonder why they don't show up to games nowadays?}

I've never done any of the above and I find your tone insulting, fans are in entitled to their opinion just like you.

26 Nov 2012 20:09:34
1) I'm a fan and I don't have a bad word to say against the owners. Lets be clear, they've saved us from a similar situation to Rangers or Portsmouth, it was a close thing under the former owners and scary for a time.

2) I will say through fan pressure we appointed Kenny Dalglish and that was a mistake. It was a dangerous decision for the owners to make, instant success was the reward, huge risk if it did not pay off. Simple really the risk was tremendous with Kenny being out of the business too long.

3) Rafa with 100 million pounds, how would he have spent that same pot of money? Think this would have been my choice had I been the owners, might not have been quite so popular as appointing Dalglish, but Rafa made some very solid purchases during his time at LFC, with a poor budget overall.

4) Fans are frustrated because the owners have implemented only half their plan this season - got in a forward thinking manager, got rid of some of the higher wage earners. And now having to undo the CHAD situation created by Comolli and Dalglish. All this has taken time and wasting 100 million has set us back countless years unfortunately.

ED002 why do you accuse anyone who questions the owners of hate campaigns and defacing the ground i think we all know thats a small miniority doing that there is just fans here who do nothing of the sorts asking questions and needing answers so maybe instead of the accusations maybe you should explain why the owners are good {Ed002's Note - I have not made any such accusations - perhaps you should read and digest what I wrote before sharing your erroneous views. I have done to death what is good about the owners - you of course failed to read it.}

Downing will either go on loan or will be sold if the price is close to what we are looking for. His replacement is looking to be Kevin Großkreutz of Dortmund, if an agreement can be met.

Cole will also be sold. If he cannot agree terms then he will be sent out on loan. A replacement is being looked at with the two main options being Eriksen or Isco. But we may have to wait until the summer for either player.

Rodgers is apparently keen to go after Sturridge as another forward option. Don't expect any business that will break the bank such as Cavani, Higuain etc.

This is all from someone who told me about Sahin coming in on loan before the news broke. I'm not sure where he gets his info he won't tell me, but we'll see if he is right. I'm not convinced myself, but thought i'd post anyway because it doesn't sound crazy like some of the things posted on here.

A replacement for cole? He's played less games of football this season than I have and I'm an asthmatic with a twisted pelvis

Yes a replacement....it is a squad which is lacking attacking options due to inept players such as our number 10.....pfffft ha number 10.

Hi Eds! There seems to be a lot of rumours with Ba and Rossi, any truth what so ever in this? Cheers, keep up the great work! {Ed002's Note - I understand that Newcastle are still likely to get an offer for Demba Ba from Galatasaray. It is possible he will move but he would look for a Champions League side. I am also not so sure that he would slot in to the way Rodgers is looking to play without the side adapting. And he could be expensive to buy for a non-CL side. Rossi is still out with a significant injury problem - to me if Liverpool wish to buy him it would be a particularly dumb move until he has proved his fitness.}

Can't believe they would come to us, they're both on the radar of the top clubs who are in a much better position than us. Also won't get a transfer fee for Cole we'll probably still have to pay part of his wages as they are prohibitive and he's no spring chicken no more.

Were known now as a team that over passes ffs when will we get the balance right? Midfield aint good enough-Downing,Hendo,Cole,Sahin-so far-can all go.Poor louis runs hits nuts off-desperate for help.Sterlings a revelation

I thought Sterling looked a bit disinterested and surprised he wasn't subbed today. Looked like it was just a low key training run for him, but then it wasn't a great performance by us in general. Maybe Sterling needs a break to freshen up a bit?

Sterling was pretty poor today. He should've been subbed. Henderson was subbed though, despite having another solid game. Joe Allen was dire. He never looked for the ball unless he was in line with the centre backs. BR wouldn't sub him though, even for Jonjo 'All The Tools' Shelvey

The whole team looked in need of a freshen up as did BR's tactics. This tip tapping about playing short passes across our own defensive third is going to get us killed.Short passing is fine but it needs to be quick and the forward pass needs to come earlier.
CR

Sterling and his camp are already agitating for a move back to London. Barely 3 months since he "arrived" and already he thinks he's big time. While its unclear whether this is from Raheem or his advisers is unclear but to be honest from what i have heard and read he has a big opinion of himself and the kind of attitude that would fit in at chelsea. Don't be surprised. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish - what has it to do with Chelsea.}

Sahin can go, he's scored 3 goals and had 3 assists, better than 'Captain Fantastic' at least when Sahin plays the deep role which is his best position he doesn't sulk around the pitch all game constantly trying to hit 40 yard balls in a team which should be passing along the ground in the Rodgers manor. Downing and Henderson are playing poor but at the moment they are Liverpool players and need supporting

Henderson has seemed like any other average prem solid box to box CM when i've seen him play this season physically all the attributes are good if he has shelveys tactical and technical prowess then he'd almost be a young gerrard, vice-versa for shelvey only really missing abit on the physical side of his game, (have to consider his age though) if henderson can improve his technical and tactical abilities over the next 2 years he will surely be a good player
22-24 years is the peak development years for most players if they haven't learnt how to get the best out of timing and positioning of attacking runs, correct shooting/passing/dribbling technique under pressure and all the other aspects of football that can be taught by the time they are 24-25 it's highly unlikely they will ever the perfect example of this is spearing he never really developed his game due to lack of game time here or out on loan so not only has he not improved he may have lost some ability. on the other side of the coin look at lucas constant game time during his development years has made him into a very good player in his position.

Sahin is quality. You blatantly no nothing about football, tactics etc. love him on a permanent deal

Eds, do you know of any concrete interest in Son Heung-Min from Hamburg? RVD was recently reported in saying when Liverpool lodge a £20 million bid its easy to be distracted (along those lines).
Cheers D {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, including Liverpool, have been looking at Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion as well. I would doubt he will be available for a January move.}

Sturridge and Jeffren Suarez are both serious transfer targets.

Wilfred Bony continues to be monitored. Huntelaar still unsure about his future.
