Melissa reddy goal journalist who covers Liverpool who's very reliable, has said we are willing to spend what ever it takes to get both Naby Keith and Van Dijk. Great news, need to get the signings done early to have a full pre season with the new players.

The journalists who cover Liverpool (James Pearce, Melissa Reddy, Paul Joyce, Chris Bascombe and Tony Barrett) have all repeatedly said that Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk are LFC's primary targets.

Either someone in the club finds it advantageous to leak this information or they contradict what Ed002 has said to some extent.

Wouldn't classify bascombe or Pearce as reliable but Joyce, Barrett (who now works for LFC) and Reddy are known to be very reliable. They can't all be wrong.

Couldn't really care for VVD. Would rather Sule who's heading to Bayern. Keita gets me excited though. Class act. Would make a real difference to the first team.

Not blowing smoke but I would back eds2 opinion every time. He's got no vested interest in stoking up our hopes. Of course he may not have heard all of our transfer plans but he ain't often wrong.

There is no way our current CB, s will do for next season. Klavan is simply not good enough, Gomez is still learning and has a long way to go. Lovren is o. k. on his day but Matip is the only one consistently good enough.

Ed002 is not necessarily wrong. He's repeated several times that Gomez was available for sale. So who slots in for the missing CB position? VVD could very much end up wearing LFC red, and Lovren and Klavan become the backups.

But I must say "what the hell is going on"? LFC looking at two players quoted at 100 Mil and neither is a fullback or left winger. I'd much rather develop Can as a holding midfielder and use the money up front.

I wasn't quoting your exact words, Ed002, just paraphrasing a bit. But the fact remains that if LFC are enticed enough with an offer for Gomez, then an offer for VVD makes sense. There's a consistent barrage of 6 months of these VVD reports. Too much smoke without any fire.

Ok ed now my mate who usually doesn't message me at all has just emailed me saying a Mellisa Reddy has said we are prepared to pay 50m for kieta and talks are ongoing. Also that VVD will attract the same figure but we are front runners. Absolute BS? If we are prepared to throw that sort of money down the drain then why not go for proven world class players. Also we don't have any interest in VVD so she along with all other journos has that totally wrong! Were do they get this stuff from?
