Apparently there was a heated exchange between Andy Carroll and Steve Clarke after yesterday nights game.

There were some home truths delivered to Carroll which didn't go down too well. Wonder if anyone else has heard anything on this. Wouldn't be surprised to see Carroll shipped out now though.

Why would clarke have a go at carroll. we just got to wembley and what could carrol do with the limited time he was on ,, i`d believe it if this had happened at bolton , but not last night

I heard nothing. Where did you get this info

Because of 1 heated exchange?

If it happened, it would have been after the Bolton game. Am I wrong when I say this but he touched the ball 35 times which is the lowest ever for a Liverpool striker in a match?

He was pretty dismal but that stat isn't purely down to him but also the service.

All i know one thing andy carrol has a touch worse than kuyt , and he falls over so easy or gets pushed out the way too easy , he challanged for a ball with lescott it think and as he is getting up off the floor again he started moaning to the ref again , now i dont know if he was like this at newcastle , if no why has he become such a weakling who cries to the ref every time theres a challange on him , thats why i want him gone

He falls like a weak little girl, really its amazing how easily he goes down, look at messi ,hardly ever goes down and is at least a foot shorter

After Kenny's broadside against the players post-Bolton, something like this is inevitable. Clearly, Kenny and Clarke are not going to cut any players any slack anymore.

I have heard from a friend who is a football agent, that Liverpool are willing to listen to offers around 15 million for Carrol, More likely for the summer not this window.

Jon LFC

I think it is clear to us all now that Carroll aint going to come good this side of an apocalypse and will prob moved on in the summer, allededly still on the vodka sauce too much. Flog him to the mega bucks club in russia - perfect fit and we're all happy! {Ed002's Note - Never going to happen. Sorry.}

If carroll was a horse he would have been shot along time ago.
Ben irish

Why is it we have to criticise our players and not get behind them. We haven't exactly given Carroll the service that he was used to a Newcastle and that is why he hasn't been the same player.

Quite right! On the pitch for 4 minutes so clarke was asking why he hadn't scored a hat-trick!

Whats the situation with:
1) Adam Johnson
2) Daniel Sturridge
Regarding them being sold ed's?

BillzWheelz {Ed002's Note - Very unlikely and no.}

26 Jan 2012 22:21:32
Are we still looking at gastron ramirez? {Ed002's Note - Whilst Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool I remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus, who have now made a firm offer, is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. It is in the best interest of his agent for him to leave Italy where the transaction will be handled by the agent himself. Bologna are looking for £15M and the agent is looking for a signing on fee for the player as well. If no suitable offers are made, then the player will stay at Bologna through to the summer.}

26 Jan 2012 22:44:39
Moussa Sow has signed for Fenerbache - fact!

Shame. How come liverpool never sign african players?

Diouf, Daio, Song. It's not as though we never do, just none at the present. (And to be honest - none of those exactly set the world on fire.)

Kebabthief

A welcome news. Never rated him. Do we need another Diouf?!

26 Jan 2012 22:28:34
Liverpool will not spend big.They have been getting a lot of stick from th press about big money transfers not paying off. The last thing they will want to do is sign another andy carrol. I reckon one signing under 10 mil if we are lucky.

Ooh LFC scared of the press. Yeah, let's run our club based on what the press think. That'll work! Ridiculous post.

Being a 'red' for 30 odd years, believe me KK doesn't give a rats rear, for what the 'press' or anyone else thinks.

You just have to look at some of the prices the new owners paid for players at red sox , the press has got nothing to do with what they spend its more value for money ,

Probably right. As much as we like to think we are not influenced by the press, it is hard to not.

26 Jan 2012 22:27:59
Eds, I know u tend to concentrate on potential transfer 'in' but do u have any info on possible player exits?? For instance are we going to get rid of Andy Carroll?? {Ed002's Note - I don't know that there will be anyone leaving this month.}

Would anyone want Carroll?

26 Jan 2012 22:24:49
18m bid for Damiao going in... They're running out of options though...

I think it qill cost more for us to buy damiao , and if we realy want him then we should pay what they ask , this player look the real deal and lucas could convince him to come to us ,,,,,,mickyb

26 Jan 2012 22:22:21
Hi Eds , i too think that we will pull a signing out the bag ,maybe its just wishful thinking but 1 name sticking in my head is eden hazzard , its the loe cole factor , he might be in his ear , because how would Sow know about scoring infront of the kop , anyway thats just my thought unlikey i know , but not out of the question {Ed002's Note - I think Hazard is out of the question. Sorry.}

Eds002,lets jst say 'u wl b shockd',hazard isnt out of question.watch the space {Ed002's Note - Noted.}

Your head is the one doing the signing, not LFC. Hazard has no interest in playing for Liverpool. His eyes are firmly set on either top clubs in spain or in italy. End of.

26 Jan 2012 22:14:26
Hmm, interesting, Pablo Hernandez (usual Valencia starter), is not on the bench. Could this mean he is possibly on the move? Or just getting a rest. But if he was just getting a rest surely there would still be a place for him on the bench? e.g. like for Soldado? I would absolutely love for him to sign! Thoughts?!

maka
YNWA JFT96

He's not a usual starter, not this season. Feghouli normally starts on the right.

Kieran.

Was wondering which person would mention it, put 2+2 together and get 71

26 Jan 2012 21:06:04
Good job on here mate. Whats the chances of giovanni dos santos? Under rated in my opinion. Or even krancjar, two over looked players. Any chances? {Ed001's Note - not much chance of either, Gio is too busy clubbing to play footie and Kranjcar is unlikely to be allowed to leave in January even if we were to show interest.}

I like kranjcar myself , theres loads out there who i'd pick for our great club , its a bit like craig gardner , he ould be a good buy for us ,but he wants to go to birmingham

26 Jan 2012 20:54:27
Liverpool will sign at least 3 players in January 100 percent true what do you think edd {Ed001's Note - doubt it, not that easy to get players in, it has been difficult for every club this year, seems to be the FFP ruling affecting the thinking.}

26 Jan 2012 20:42:23
Got a funny feeling that there will be a deadline day signing. Don't think it will be an outrageous one like carvani etc but maybe 1 of our targets that were intended for the summer ie De Hong etc. Or a very good player from the premiership (not walcott though!). My post has no source or background to it. It just a gut feeling that I have.

Either way I'm still very overjoyed that we're going to Wembley!
And I still have faith that we will get 4th in the league!

What made me so proud last night was how seriously we were taking the league cup for once. It genuinely felt like one of our sorely missed champions league nights under the floodlights.

That's one of the things that frustrated me when Rafa was in charge. Now i know he lifted the F.A cup for us in 2006 but he completely disregarded the domestic trophies a lot of the time, in my opinion.

I read a united fan coming on here before trying to slate us for taking the competition seriously. Thank you for showing your true arrogance, mate.

Stu.

Don't forget Rafa took us to the League cup final in 2005. Ignore all United fans, that's a peice of advice my brother gave me when I was 7, and it's carried me through my life.

I live in anfield and at te bigining i was in the backyard , i could hear them sing "you'll never walk alone " and i thought i have not heard that amount of noise coming from anfield for a while , well done redmen , if we knock maure out of the f.a. they will say they never took that seriously aswell

'Thats one thing that annoyed me about Rafa'.
Yeah, but like most people, you seem tp have forgotten it was Rafa who GAVE us those champions league nights!

Yeah we should take seriously the Mickey Mouse cup...eeerrr League Cup! If you ask me Rafa didnt take it seriously because he was giving attention to the Premier League and CL not these Mickey Mouse Cups! Pathetic how low we have fallen!

We should take every possible price of silverware seriously..! I'd take the johnsons paint trophy if we could..!
It's people like that manc and Adrian Durham who will eventually drive domestic cups out of the game, they are poorly funded (compared to CL and EPL) because of lesser due to lack of interest from supporters.
Durham today said that we were getting excited over nothing, and if we won it then that would not justify a successful season for KD and he should be sacked... The guy is a tool and his show is pantomime...

Myk

I am Happy and all we got the final but I'd rather we took the Bolton game more seriously. Plus let's be honest Manchester City were not as bothered as us, I mean they benched Aguero and Milner who were both excellent in their prior game. Shows how the clubs have been progressing I'm afraid to say.

Can you give me one reason why we should take it seriously?

26 Jan 2012 20:32:39
eds is there any news on david texeira. im getting fed up with all these 'rumours'. do you think we will get any news from the club? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of him, sorry.}

Venting your displeasure of rumours on a rumours site strikes me as a little strange! Maybe your Internet browsing needs to drift a little towards factual sites such as Wikipedia ;)!
Cheers

26 Jan 2012 20:27:54
Is there something you are not telling us Ed002? You seem pretty confident over us adding to our ranks? Threw me a bit coz Messi played last night, even though we upheld our end by resting Carroll ;-). {Ed002's Note - Originally I was trashed for saying it will only be one or two.}

I wont trash u, u boys seem to give up a lot of your time not only repeating yourselves but being barracked by knobs (not literally lol). If u say 1 or 2 then that is good enough for me, almost wish it was over, anticipation is killing me!!

I don't believe we will to be honest ed002 :)

26 Jan 2012 20:15:13
First time poster long time reader (as they say). Ed's just a quick question really as time is running out. What do you reckon the chances of a new signing actually are? {Ed002's Note - Just fine.}

Haha an answer as if Kenny himself had said it :)

26 Jan 2012 20:14:31
going to be an exciting week all round ! will there be last minute drama ? i really hope liverpool sign a winger or a striker , we are lacking that cutting edge what stiker or winger would you like too see join liverpool ? ?

i think adam johnson and edison cavani would complete liverpool maybe we will have too wait for a very massive summer .....

Messi wouldn't be bad either but we can't afford him or Johnson and Cavani.Unless you can lend Kenny the cash!

Why say messi ? of course we aint going too get him numbnuts ! johnson and cavani dont compare too messi in price !

Thats not what Ian Arye said! Money isn't a concern!

Way slate him he is rayt they wood compleat the team u fool

I think we are a long long way of being a complete side, sorry.

26 Jan 2012 20:13:39
how did the training opportunity go with Frei

26 Jan 2012 19:43:57
Fenerbahce club site says this - Moussa Sow finnaly will arrive in Turkey in 21:00 CET. Airport is - Sabiha Gökçen Havaalanı Genel Havacılık Terminali.

Another off from the list.

@nbstw {Ed016's Note - At least someone got a job in Greece today!}

Turkey

miccmak

Since when did turkey become apart of greece?

Please edit your Note. Unacceptable.

The sky sports app had sows team as fenabache whilst looking at the lineups of senegals game in the acn.

Its turkey....... {Ed016's Note - Yeah I realize my mistake, oh well you will have to excuse me. I think people get offended a bit too easily these days, but down the pub with their mates...different story, its all a bit hypocritical this political correctness, isn't making it a massive avoidance or taboo just adding to the discrimination? sorry for the mix up.}

WOuld have been classic if it was greece you have to admit

26 Jan 2012 19:35:01
A good source from within anfield has informed me that the club are in earley discussions with arsenal about the availability of walcott , There is no offer on the table yet but both club know that walcotts deal has 18 months to run and has indicated he wants a massive contract to resign hence our tentative enquiries .....I was told that this will gather pace b4 transfer deadline day ! Im personally against such a move as i dont rate the boy but this is 100% what ive been told !

kopace
{Ed016's Note - He wants too much money, if it is too much for Arsenal it is too much for us, the lad should sign up for Arsenal before he realizes its probably the best he will ever do in his career, over rated shocking end product}

Kopace by any chance have you been listening to talksport today?

ACHILLES.

BTW kopace it's "re-sign" for Arsenal not "resign"!

I'd sign him up in a heat beat. Quickest player I've ever seen and is still young. Shame it won't happen.

That might be the reason why Wenger could consider selling that crap to us. lol
Honestly, I think he is a decent player but not what we are looking for. I hope that DC thinks about then Ayew brothers from Marseille! don't really know what they are worth, but I imagine a that Arsène Wenger hasn't forgotten them. their father Abedi Pele was pure class and the two boys are allways in Deschamps line up.

I'm city will buy him and offer him stupid wages to sit on their bench. Seems to be where most arsenal players go these days for 'footabll reasons'

Just a qeustion eds, you said that his wage requirements are too much for us, but do you think that he would be willing to lower them because he is a liverpool fan. Cheers {Ed001's Note - unlikely, thankfully because he is awful. All he does is run very fast and get injured a lot.}

Don't think this will happen, though I for one would be pleased if it did, but just wanted to point out that if a player's wage demands are too much for Arsenal it doesn't necessarily mean they'd be too much for us due to Arsenal's curiously low salary cap

Red Ollie

I'm sorry for all the column inches given to this lad I just think he is so overated his final ball is s**te and he misses some shocking chances. Yeah he has pace but not much else and Wenger has a decent record at improving some young players but feel hes one fella that will eventually fade away

Moussa Sow finally completes move to Fenerbache
So that solves one mystery ,, lets focus on others.

AJI

26 Jan 2012 18:58:55
The cavani links are fake. Apparently Liverpool are looking at other options in the hope that FCG will reduce their demand for D Texeira.

26 Jan 2012 18:48:55
Eds,

Think we should seriously go in for Isla and Sow (Afcon over for him). Would be 2 amazing signings adding class to our squad. What do you think?

Matt {Ed002's Note - Napoli, PSG, Liverpool, Roma and Inter are all interested in Udinese's wing back Mauricio Isla, but no firm offers have been made. Liverpool may well see him as a summer replacement for Glen Johnson. My understanding is that a Fenerbahce bid has been made, rejected and a second bid made that is acceptable to Lille. They have granted permission for Fenerbahce to talk to his representatives about personal terms andthe player met with the Turkish side's representatives in Paris last week. He then made a visit to Lille before returning to the Middle East and then Africa. As I had previously explained, Moussa Sow is available and has been looked at by Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle and, accepting he was to leave, Lille who were keen on Luuk De Jong opted instead for Nolan Roux - who has now joined them. My understanding is that there were no firm bids made by any English side for Sow, but in theory one could still be made as the transfer has yet to be finalised. It would mean matiching or bettering the bid from Fenerbahce of 10M euro and a potential of 3.3M euros in performance related additional payments. It would then mean striking a deal with the player and completing the paperwork. The question that we should ask is why if this is what LIverpool want, they have not even approached Lille yet?. But, as I say, it could actually happen.}

Woww he's going for that little money! thought he'd be a 20 million man at least.. seems like a bit of a bargain if you ask me, no doubt we won't go for him then as we prefer to spend over the odds on very average players *cough* carroll, downing

26 Jan 2012 18:44:02
Am hearing news that LFC are in talks with Leandro Damiao over a potential January move, very exciting if true.

I know you said not a possibility a week or so but just wondering if there have been any updates on this Ed's? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any talks at all but he is a player who may be available if a good deal can be agreed. Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Juventus may push for a January transfer but I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013. If Juve made an offer Liverpool would need to move quickly. Or perhaps just more crap from Twitter.}

This is from Twitter some called skysports Joe some one who works behind the scenes at skysports (my Arse)
Fake account only 1331 followers who have been stupid enough to believe this s**t!!

26 Jan 2012 18:40:00
More news from Steve McClaren's side is that they have signed Brazilian forward Jaja Coelho on loan for the rest of the season from Al-Ahli.

-----------------------

What does this mean for De Jong ....

BigD

What it means? Maybe a new partner for de jong?

Hmmmm but they already have a good partner for de jong but if de jong would leave fc twente wouldnt they sign a player for long term not for loan

Wish we'd got JAJA!!

26 Jan 2012 18:33:25
we are NOT going to sign anyone for the first team!! and unfortunately (or not) Carroll WILL be sold for a loss before deadline day.

Expect chances for the young ones and they will shine.

Good source please post.

Don't think so mate, go back to the drawing board and think up a new one

Well it wouldnt be for a profit would it...Still not going to happen though

MJ

Well if it's a good source tell us what it is!

Selling Carroll and not buying a replacement?

Not a prayer buddy.

Ian

Well if this hapopens my name is micheal jackson

micheal jackson

I hope you're right mate i really do... would sooner sell him and bring pacheco back from loan to see how he fares in the prem with luis than have that big oaf lolloping around! {Ed001's Note - the Pacheco who couldn't be bothered to turn up for training, that Pacheco? He is highly unlikely to ever return to Liverpool, he let himself and the club down with his attitude.}

26 Jan 2012 18:13:38
hi eds
im hearing some stuff on liverpool being very interested in cavani and sow, wandering if u know anything more? {Ed002's Note - Twitter going wild again is it. The whole Cavani thing relates to a fake Twitter message about a week ago. If Liverpool want to do anything about Sow, maybe they should speak to Lille.}

26 Jan 2012 18:03:00
Any interest in Victor Moses he's improved greatly this season cos he's started most games,was the best player on the pitch against us and second only to silva against city,he has skill and pace in abundance and is gonna be a star in a couple of years,I reckon £10 million would get him at the moment {Ed002's Note - None that we know of from Liverpool - perhaps QPR and perhaps West Ham.}

26 Jan 2012 18:01:46
Any chance of Drogba on loan Edd. {Ed002's Note - None.}

26 Jan 2012 17:29:47
Just heard swansea, Bolton and west ham in for Sterling on loan, ant truth? {Ed002's Note - None whatsoever.}

Raheem Sterling is too young to go on loan so forget that!

26 Jan 2012 17:06:53
The reds to sign man city's Adam Johnson

You wish....

Would love it and he does fit liverpools transfer type aswell young and skilled. but i would not jump to conclusions and get your hopes up

Would be nice but doubt it.

Why would anyone leave City in January, when a Premier League Winners Medal is there for the taking? Only money would talk in that situation - and who pays more than City?

There is no way in hell he will take a serious pay cut to play for us...Apparently he has turned into a right kn*b since being at city the money has gone to his head and he thinks he is something special...Hence he wont come

MJ

I don't know what it is about him.........I can't quite put my finger on it........... but he just has one of those faces that I just want to slap!!!

Gifted footballer though :-)

Johnson by name and nature.
Ben irish

Don't know anything about Johnson's personality but I do know City won't sell him this season so get used to that!

Not sure Johnson is any better than Downing..

26 Jan 2012 17:04:50
Hi eds are the rumours true that we are after Anthony Grant, looks like a real talent. {Ed002's Note - The only AG I know is at Southend - and I know nothing of interest from Liverpool).

Haha. Anthony Grant from southend? He can't even get in the southend team on a regular basis this term. Even the kid kane ferdinand is picked over him!
Drapps

26 Jan 2012 16:48:09
hi eds, have liverpool renewed their interest in luuk de jong? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

26 Jan 2012 16:40:39
for all of you people who are saying edison cavani is going to join liverpool now or in the summer its a load of crap. liverpool will not sign a striker as it is pointless when suarez will be back in a couple of games. the only signing will be joao carlos teixeira.

How do you know who liverpool will defo sign and or cavani will or wont sign in the summer. Do you know john henry as a personal friend and can you see the future if so any chance of the lottery numbers lad.

When suarez was playing and we were drawing it showed we still need a striker ,because our only 2 stikers might get injured at the same time , what would we do then

Because cavani wants to play champions league football. that is something liverpool are not going to be able to give him. if he lives napoli it would be for barcelona, real madrid or man city

:L Stupidest comment of day goes to u , we sure dont need another striker because our current two just cant stop scoring this season! suarez and carrol combined goals of nearly 8 ! with out strikers keeping that great form we are bound to atleast finish 1st or 2nd because our goal difference may hend up +2 :d

26 Jan 2012 15:57:00
DC pissing around too much - Hoilett deal is off, Juve now set on a buy deal for Krasic not loan. Cant see too many signings now. Joao Teixeira is close to being signed but David Texeira is off because yet again Comolli messing around on the price. He is costing us a lot of targets because he is negotiating too much, nearly lost us Suarez last Jan...

RM

Because obviously you'd know, right?

And I would love to know how you know all this!

So DC is costing us targets because he doesnt want to pay over the odds for players, how dare he, get real mate this is business and the prices are extortionate

...As if you have any idea what the initial demands for Suarez were. Could have been 35m+ for all we know. This is not FIFA12 you know?

He's doin his job mate and whats best for the so get off his back,you targets are they yours or the clubs.or just made up by the media?

Ste Liverpool

So I guess we should just go out and pay over the odds prices then. Get a grip!

Relatively quiet window so far for almost all clubs. Maybe reality is casting a small (very very small) shadow over the high flyers of football industry.

Yeah how dare he try and get a reasonable price, he should just pay over the odds for players and then hav the fans moan he payed to much, just like they moan with the Carroll, Downing and Henderson transfers. Get a grip dude

He doesnt want to pay over the odds? What is 20 mil for Downing, 35 mil for Carroll and 16 mil for Henderson? Value for money? You are becoming jokers with these defendings of bad decisions.

I suspect you know absolutely nothing

You cant come on here slating how much players have cost and then moan that commoli is not paying over the odds.
you@re a dimebar

taffytel

Just an observation more than anything else...posts like these are a classic case of damned if you do...and damned if you don't...DC/KD make all those buys last January and over the summer and got slaughtered for overpaying and being too rash...now they are being more deliberate and actually negotiating...and they are still getting whipped!!...make up your mind will ya??

Ya whats he doing!?? I should think it can take time to sort these thing out. When your a "big" club bet it's more complicated with the agents and other team Seeing £ signs. That's why theirs always more activity with smaller teams. Chill!!

And you know this how? people like you are hilarious. come back and write some more of your stories on the website. i find them hilarious

At least he's learnt then from the prices we stumped up in the last two windows.

And that's a bad thing?

We have to face some facts that there are players who don't want to come. They use us as a bargaining chip to get a better wage. Then there are those who can't be arsed like SWP or Ireland who sit back and make 50,000-80,000 a week but don't want the pressure playing for Liverpool. There are variables in every situation-

There would have to be an extraordinary amount of variables to have swp and stephen ireland at the club...

26 Jan 2012 15:03:50
I am sorry to tell you guys but David Texeira is our one and only signing in January.

We can probably expect a busy summer.
If we finish top 4 we can buy big! If we don't ... well, then we'll probably buy players like Jelavic and Luuk De Jong. If we finish top 4 I think there is a good chance of players like Cavani and Hazard!

Reddie

Fantastic news. Great potential. Why should be spend anymore more and be held to ransom by clubs.

Got mixed feelings on that whether you are right or wrong. i think there may be one more IMO but im iffy on that aswell

According to everyone else the David Texeira deal is dead. Groningem wanted to much money.
Do you know something no one else does or are you just guessing badly.
CR

Na he wont be the only one, I dunno who else will come but I expect 2 signings. If we do get top 4 then ya I agree we have a chance for bigger names but remember we wont be the only clubs after them so dont get ahead of yourself

LFC Paddy

Rangers rejected out of hand a £7 to 8 mill offer for Jelavic so he wouldn't come cheap and since we'd have a LOT of time to scout strikers before the start of next season why buy him at all?

Mate, if we get David Texeira I'll be jumping for joy because he's true class and if we don't he'll be worth £20M+...so come on Commolli...move it!

Sorry lads buts there's no chance we're finishing fourth, we ought to concentrate on the domestic cups

Even if we finish fourth we will still not sign the likes of Cavani and Hazard. They will go to clubs who are willing to offer them the big bucks.

RedHeps

26 Jan 2012 14:52:59
Two players to expect in this week,
Dempsey for around 8m and Isla for 12.5m, that will be it for this month, serious money to be spent in the summer once high earners and non performers are moved on.

Carroll, Henderson and Downing will all be staying get used to the idea, Carroll and hendo need time, Downing is a good squad player and will continue to do the job until champions league is obtained, there is no-one else out there better that we can get at the minute.

Kuyt, Maxi, Aquilani, Aurelio, Cole and Pacheco to leave in summer, Carra will stay around the squad and be involved in the league cup next year.

I also think Johnson will be staying his wages are a problem but he perfoms consistently and gets in some great tackles hes saved us on many occasions, but also gets caught out from attacking, but he only does that as he has to, he hasnt really had that player on the wing in front of him to either cover his runs and hand over to attack, isla for right wing Johnson then has the support he needs to concentrate on his defencive duties or to over lap with.

Please post in rumours... thoughts please

I like your thoughts on midfield players. I don't know why everyone is saying we need strikers, front men aren't getting the ball they require. Carroll has been unlucky on may occasions so far and Bellamy has been really good up there. I think good wingers are needed more than forwards

Carroll is 23 . When will he be ready , 33 , 43 .......... ?

I think you would be 100% correct, especially on carroll and hendo. adam and downing did have a good game last night as well. cant see why we are so hell bent on letting johnson go. but dempsey and texeira would kind of make sense.

You cant even for a minute say carroll sucks. he has an outstanding goal record at new castle. maybe he is not the liverpool way but he is only 22 he has some thime to prove himself at this big club.

I think Johnson and Isla could be a great pairing. Both can attack and defend so they could easily interchange and cover for each other. This would surely help out our right flank

Dempsey and David Texeira will not happen. Whoever thinks we do not need a striker I cannot understand. Bellers is great but his knees have to be nursed and Andy still does not look like being a prolific scorer.We are creating chances, just not putting them away.
I hope we continue to play the more open attacking football we played last night instead of the slow build keep ball we have been playing most of the season.

Great to see king kenny posting, you would have to be him to have all this info, get real mate you are the same as me and 99% we have no clue who is going to be signed cause everthing with liverpool is done hush hush nowadays.you should have just wrote this is my wishlist of players .
Raw

Agree with your comments on Johnson

This is no wish list wait and see, the board want a top US int for marketing, it just so happens he would do an excellent job for us, the interest in Isla is well founded... if it were a wish list it would be Cavani etc.... these targets are realistic, obtainable and available at right price.

I take it your the guy who thinks we should get rid of Johnson? trust me it wont happen.

To the other poster, no one said Carroll sucks, he needs a bit more time to "feel at home" and needs the service, simple

Johnson should be played rm and kelly rb johnson cant defend as easy as that
shanio1

Christ where does this loopy idea that because we're American owned we have to buy American players come from? Would NFL or baseball teams consider buying a Brit? If we signed Dempsey what would he market for us? I doubt he's well known in the States where NFL,Baseball,Basketball,and Ice Hockey all rate higher than "soccer" as they call it. {Ed002's Note - If it were to be the case of buying an American for marketing purposes it would not be Dempsey. Perhaps Brek Shea - and he is not really up at EPL level yet.}

I agree really like Dempsey and would be a realistic target great addition rated him for a while now mate. Isla haven't seen him play so can't comment on him. Not keen on texeira to be onest looks average I wouldn't sell Pacheco I think he will be a star. Come on reds!

People on here saying its would be good to get isla , who would be good with johnson , i personaly think we have a good pairing down the right but it never gets used , kelly and johnson , kelly can get up and down the right , so theres no need of isla , unless its to replace johnson

Kelly will be moving to centre back as permanent cover for Carra once he retires hense the need for Isla.

We need Dempsey, not for the marketing etc, but for the team..... yet having a USA player at one of the world most famous clubs would surely help shirt sales etc in the US, wouldnt a move to Liverpool make him the most succesful US player to date? name another at a "bigger" club?

Linked with so many players ie:- cavani, hleb, de jong, texeira,odemwingie, isla, sow, granero, mcgeady, the list goes on and on this week, some of them good and some crap. I do think we need the odd player or two, but would like to see more of the academy players coming through or at least given a chance, it costs millions yet only the odd player makes it every couple of years to the first team, then we spend millions buying someone else, is our academy just not producing good enough quality players/or just not getting the opportunity ?

Oppourtunity, daglish did state tho he wants to use them in easier games as they have more passion then a few players

Id agree with that like i honestly believ if we had tried maybe 2 youth players against bolton would have made a huge difference... obviously easier in hein sight but i think conor coady and suso both could have easilly played and been right up for it mayb giving wisdom or raheem substitute for 15-20 mins.. i just feel that a few players dropped severely but with back to back big games they should have much more adrenalin and kenney certaintly wont let people reproduce that preformance..
Shane K Lfc

They're not getting the oportinity

I'm not sure why the younger players are being nutured to death. You've got to put them in the fray for them to grow. I'd just like to see maybe once in a while a youth academy player on the bench. It's so infrequent it's untrue.

I personally think that Kenster should pop a lad a on the bench from time to time, youthful enthusiam and drive is exactly the type of boost the team needs time to time, a fresh face who's genuinely thrilled to be playing football.

Wayne Rooney was given that chance, and he went from strength to strength, as have a lot of other players. {Ed016's Note - Rooney is an exception and I remember he did suffer a major injury a while ago and was one of the lucky ones where it did not really effect them for too long after, however, just as Martin Kelly proved last year, young players are fragile, they do need to be nurtured slightly. But I would love to see some of them get a go, I am sure Kenny will, he is massively involved with the academy and to be honest I would go with their judgement any day}

Last year there was flanno , robbo , kelly and spearing all given games , i thin kenny only brings them is when theres an injury , its like when johnson is injured , kelly and flanno comes in , but whats getting me is the goalie we are linked with , we actually bought him then sent him out on loan to twente , we sonld him to them and now we want to buy him back , i doubt the buy back price is knowere as cheap as we sold him we sold him for 1.5 mil i think , but everyone is looking for him , what gets me is the fact that with regular football games these young ones come on in leaps and bounds , kenny needs to trust the kids or get rid of the academy

Hi ed, do you think there would be a chance/intrest in ozil if we get into the champions league? {Ed002's Note - I don't see Oezil being available before the summer but the club may well be interested if Champions League qualification has been achieved. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Manchester United, Inter Milan and Juventus.}

Liverpool will never see Champions League again

I honestly dont see us getting ozil lets face it champions league may or may not happen for us but uts a gurantee for madrid and they are first in la liga also hes been playing like really well recentky and has set up loads of goals linking up with kaka benzema and ronaldo and higuain. Madrid would be fools to let him go he was man of the match for them against barcelona( which is a milestone cause normally he is invisble playing aginst them) S

Source: Footybunker

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is plotting a stunning move to bring Napoli striker Edinson Cavani to Anfield before the end of the transfer window.

The Reds chief has placed the Urugyuan at the top of his hit list as he continues his search for a strike that can fill in for the suspended Luis Suarez. Andy Carroll continues to struggle with the anniversary of his record breaking £35 million move from Newcastle fast approaching whilst Dirk Kuyt's drop in form has persuaded Dalglish he needs a proven centre forward to fire the club back into Europe.

Whilst Craig Bellamy has impressed up front the Welshman is always susceptible to breaking down with injury and Dalglish know's he can't rely on Carroll and Kuyt to provide goals. Liverpool have scored just four times in as many Premier League games since Suarez's suspension winning just once and dropping below Arsenal and Newcastle in pursuit of the top four.

Cavani has now emerged as a serious target for the 60-year-old who is toying with the idea of pairing him with fellow countryman Suarez in a devastating attacking partnership. The duo linked up to great effect in the World Cup two years ago and Dalglish is convinced the partnership could turn the club into serious title contenders next season.

The 24-year-old certainly knows where the net is scoring 51 times in 72 games since moving to the Stadio San Paolo in the summer of 2010 but could be coaxed into joining Suarez in England. Chelsea and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in Cavani but were put off by Napoli's £30 million asking price although it's thought Dalglish is willing to spend big to capture the 6ft 2in striker.

Very much doubt cavani will be the target for the winter transfers but i suspect, if liverpool were to sell off carrol maybe in the summer he will be priority number 1! thoughts?

Tell ya what if Kenny could pull it off then there partnership would be devastating, but don't see it happening, just like when we had Torres and were linked with his strike partner for Spain at the time Villa but the move never materialized.

BigD

Garbage

Cavani is valued at 55 million by napoli.He will join Real in the summer.He will never play for us so forget about it

We can dream!never going to happen this window and not going to happen in the summer unless champions league is achieved for 1

There's a fundamental problem with this article. Suarez will be back in three games he's already served over half the suspension. If the article is banking on a striker to fill in for Suarez for that time then it will turn out to be a more expensive transfer than Carroll!. Cavani would be a good signing, but unrealistic. I don't believe that article one bit. {Ed002's Note - It is all BS relatyed to a fake Twitter message that was made about Cavani.}

How did the get a hold of my Fifa 12 team?

caughtoffside say we are after hleb. are they a good source ed. {Ed002's Note - The old chestnut again. The best test of "goodness" is to search the site for Coentrao and see if they were on Ed002's side of the fence (the Good Guys - cheer) or the "on the way to Liverpool", "deal agreed" or "Kenny told price" side of the fence (the Bad Guys - boo). That is the new standard test of sport web site goodness.}

Hleb made my day that!

Why not have a BS factor out of 10 with 10 being the worst, won't happen rumour.

This rumour would have a BS factor of 11.

Aaron Lennon and luuk de Jong. Realistic and needed. Any info on them mate? {Ed002's Note - Lennon no. A check on De Jong yesterday confirmed that interest in the player remains from Liverpool, no offer has been made.}

Ed, do you think an offer for De Jong is likely by the end of the window? {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Liverpool have joined fellow Premier League side Queens Park Rangers in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Alexander Hleb before the end of the January transfer window, The Daily Mail reports. Hleb has previous Premier League experience after a three year with Arsenal before his move to the Spanish champions.

Hleb has endured a torrid time in the Nou Camp and has been sent on loan to German sides Stuttgart and Wolfsburg since his 2008 switch to Barcelona. The Belarussian is eager to get away from Pep Guardiola's side and fancies a move back to the Premier League. Hleb's loan spell with Wolfsburg was cut short this season due to a loss of form and fitness and he has played only four games in this campaign.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is considering his options ahead of a move for the Belarussian, who has proven he can perform in the Premier League. Dalglish is unimpressed with the current form of Dirk Kuyt and Jordan Henderson in the wide right position and sees Hleb as the perfect replacement on a bargain deal, as Hleb is being sold on a free transfer. Barcelona are releasing the player from his contract and Dalglish is monitoring the situation with a view to a move. Hleb has admitted he left Arsenal too soon and wants to move back to the Premier League, where he would prefer a move to Anfield over a move to QPR.

Liverpool face Wolves next week and Dalglish will hope to have Hleb in the squad before the game at Molineux, as the transfer window ends shortly. Reports have also suggested that Liverpool have tabled a bid for Udinese defender Mauricio Isla, but the Italian side are not interested in selling until at least the summer.

Was poor at birmingham

Okay so he couldn't hack it at Barca and has been on loan to 2 clubs where his form has been lousy and he's been injured a lot.He's only played 4 games all this season too and that's a reason we'd want to sign him? Worst rumour ever! The Mail's transfer section is called the "Screamer" and is subtitled "It's the talk of football"!Nope it's the trash of football!

I really hope this is not true, Barca, wolfsburg and stuttgart dont want him, Hes just not good enough for the reds either!

I'd prefer kuyt or henderson right midfield than hleb, sayin that me nan would do better on the right than hleb!! He had potential a few years ago and has never lived up to it. He couldn't even get into the birmingham team when he was on loan there, no disrespect to birmingham like but you know what I mean. Not good enough.

This rumour again? Is it a good player/bad player cycle, so tomorrow we will be linked with Hazard, and the with owen on saturday?

Liverpool are locked in talks with FC Groningen for striker David Texeira.

The 20 year-old Uruguayan is being linked with a move to Liverpool before next week's transfer deadline.

And Dutch sources say a Liverpool delegation were in Holland on Monday to hold talks with Groningen over a fee for the youngster.

Liverpool acted after scouts ran the rule over him in action against Heracles Almelo. The Reds are currently exploring the prospect of work permit success for Texeira.

Texeira is nothing special, i dont even know why we are pursuing him to badly. Tadic, who plays for the same team and is one of the best and most underrated playmakers in football today is a much much better player and should be our target, not this guy.

I have no idea if this guy's any good nor if we are in fact trying to sing him but for the last 2 days all the posts about him have been saying any deal has collapsed over his valuation.Come on you people with "SOURCES" make up your mind which it is!

Suarez's old club and Robben also started there, could they be a good club to look for talent?
kidmillions

No one had even heard of him before they did there research following Grobbelaars comments and people seem to have got him confused with the lad from portugal.Theres nothing to suggest we are interested in signing him and the fees people are coming up with seem ridiculous considering hes scored a few goals in a terrible league

No Liverpool player wants to go to groningen as part exchange for David Texeira...

Liverpool think Groningen are asking for too much cash for him and isn't worth...

The deal may well be off unless they can meet a compromise...

will look elsewhere if so...

MK

Groningen asking Liverpool to pay £1.5 of 3rd Party payment as his D. Tex 20% owner is his mother club from Uruguay. but Liverpool ask them to pay it as its nothing to do with Liverpool.

Local Radio here in Nigeria, Brilla FM, 88.9 is reporting that that Liverpool made an £8 million bid for West Brom striker, Osaze Odemwingie. The report says the striker is willing to move but not sure if the club will sale. Don't know if any of the Eds can confirm this. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it - sorry.}

LOL Radio in Nigeria..PMSL. {Ed002's Note - I apologise on behalf of the web site to our previous poster from Nigeria. It is really hard to understand the short-sighted ignorance of some people.}

He does a good job for west brom but I'm not sure he's what we need to be honest, if it's him or no one this window then I'd jump at it, but would rather some other target.

I was on about the rumour ed not the radio sorry if you misunderstood me i respect all Liverpool fans around the world as brothers. {Ed002's Note - Ok, but you must agree that is not how it reads.}

Oh dear it does sound like that..I will be a bit more careful when i post next time J4T96 {Ed002's Note - No problems, and a warning to all (including the Eds) that we need to be careful what we write.}

This guy's nowhere near good enough and at £8 mill is vastly overpriced.And that's without even mentioning the fact that he's turned 30 so let's put this one to bed for good!

Hi eds. macca just wonna pick up on something that happened last night downning how much did he cost us? he was so bad last night he gave the ball away his control is diabolical and he even jump away from the ball when it was cleared from the city box plz plz tell me we are looking at a new winger even if its not till the summer their must be someone where looking at people keep saying to me about Henderson as well to give him time and let him blossom but he looked like someone had asked our mascot's to put a shirt on hes the captain of england under 21's and star for the future but he just looked like a dear in the headlights at times plz just reassure me that somone is being looked at

ramythered {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off. Dalglish is clearly of the opinion that Downing is much niftier than you think. At some point a replacement from Kuyt will arrive - perhaps that is the answer.}

That was Downings best performance muppet

I thought he played quite well and on more than the odd occasion, I thought if only Carroll was in the box!

Keith

I thought Downing was fantastic last night down the left..That's where he should be playing all the time.

Were you watching a different match with a different player called Downing?

Manc! hasn't even got the brains to disguise it, even thinly.
kidmillions

Sorry but I don't agree with your assessment of Downing. In last nights game, he played well and showed what he can actually do. One of his best performances in the red shirt.

Some so called fans really amaze me, we played city off the park, it would have been reflected in the score line had it not been for Hart, get behind the team. This result and if we can do the scum on Saturday could turn things around for us in the league. Downing and Henderson both had decent games. Think where we were 12-18 months ago...

What is wrong with u mate. What has happened to the Liverpool fan. There was a time when we supported players and managers at the club. I am sick of reading posts from "fans" talking s**t about players and the manager. If they are wearing red then we get behind them. We f###ing knock Man City out of a semi final and ur reaction is to attack Downing. Ass## le. Support ur reds talk about potential signings sure but don't talk s#it about current players. Sorry about the rant love the site just hate reading crap.

I thought hendo did brilliant last nyt linked up well with bellamy an kuyt never stopped closeing down. just give the boys credit when they play well an stop getting on there backs.

belfast red adam

I hope potential LFC transfer targets don't visit this forum as it would soon put them off from joining our great club (atmosphere was like CL tie last night again) I k ow our new players can frustrate us at times and I'd actually hoped for a little more too but when the do play well lay off them and give them the credit they deserve!
Henderson was excellent and did as instructed, Downing far more effective hugging the line, Adam showed flashes but sharpness and endurance lets him down a little (he can improve on this )
One down and one to go !
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Certainly one player did take a look at this site in the summer.}

Forget about the price for players, Downing didn't stop yesterday, played amazing...... Hendo will be the next big thing at Liverpool

We played Man City out the game yesterday, COME ON YOU REDS YNWA

Rookie

I think herderson is coming on well, to compair him to a mascot, well its a bit silly really, i bet your one of the many that didnt like lucas when he first came to us, now one of the best players at LFC

What game were you watching? Stewart Downing played arguably his best game for us last night. He was a constant threat to the City defense.

Henderson ran his heart out, and so he should. His performance contributed vastly to the form of Bellamy and thus the team. His performance reminded many fans what it means to be a part of Liverpool Football Club.

There isn't any need to replace them. Slowly, (Henderson especially) they are becoming the heart of the club.

Henderson will be the nect gerrard!

Don't slate the guy when you can't even spell "DEER in the headlights"

No point getting annoyed at posts like this - obviously doesn't have much of a football brain and/or a manc. Glad to hear the majority of posters now out to defend the team, sounding like real supporters again !

Why did Kenny get stuck in to them at the weekend? Lack of creativity and imagination was some of the quotes. Henderson and downing are good players but at the minute are not match winners. Henderson will never be the next Stevie G. He seems to be an athlete, but needs to get involved more up front and seems to be afraid in taking a risk with his passing, which he has admitted himself. Defo better performances under Kenny

Downing respond well to kennys kick up backside good addition to squad

I think we're all in agreement that this guy is talking crap, right?
Obviously we all have different opinions and are entitled to them, but how can anybody question anyone's performance last night?
Only a plastic fan, in my opinion!

Well dimwit not one poster agrees with you so head off to wherever you crawled from!

Downing played well last night!!!!

Downing showed good improvement last night and worked well with Enrique for the first time this season. Henderson is lacking in confidence a little but there was a moment last night when he mis-controlled the ball and was disgusted with himself, a great sign of willingness and passion for improvement. Henderson will be a great signing in time. MickeyJ

Yeah what are you talking about? I was there last night and I aways make a effort to watch players off the ball (Downing, Hendo and Adam) with their moment and positioning. Downing made a real effort and his movement and positioning was the best I've seen of him in LFC shirt, but still a lot of work to be done. For me he just needs to take more players on while driving through the 18yrd box. If he lose the ball there's always enough support in Liverpool's last 3rd. You must of been watching a different game mate! Adam was the one that made me nervous, he got caught in possession too many time, trying to boss that midfield vs Man City was never going to come off for him, too many touches and didn't get his head up enough to see a simple forward pass or a pass out of danger. Bread and butter stuff for our Lucas. We're definitely in need of right winger! We'll get there, we're going to Wembley for god sake stop your moaning kidda and let Kenny sort it all out!

I go to Anfield about 20 times a season and for a start that was the best atmosphere I have been privvy to in a long time. Anyway the main point of the original post was to criticise Downing and Henderson I think, all I can ask is whether you saw the same players in the same game as me last night (had you sky plused the Bolton game by accident and watched it back at 7.45 last night?) Downing had a good game and Henderson had a superb game. Too many so called Reds fans are too quick to criticise this year, it is not the LFC way. Get behind your team, get behind your manager and get behind your players instead of slagging them off!

I like most fan's have really been on Downing's back this season.He's not getting the crosses in that Big Andy need's&i really believe that is why the big man is not playing well,i no a lot of you will not agree with me.Now having said that how the hell can that s******d say that Downing did not play well?Easy his best game in a red shirt,so the lad can do it&Hendo will be in midfield for a long time,he will come good no panic...YNWA

What a load of nonsense. Must've been watching a different game and players to you. Henderson did a lot of work last night. Granted no spectacular eye catchong stuff but broke up play and pressed really well. It was this breaking up of play and pressing that was platform for victory. Downing I thought had a good game too. Direct and willing to take players on. I know both have been disappointing given the transfer fees but I think we should get behind them and they'll come good......

Are you having a laugh mate? Downing was outstanding last night

Definitely downings best performance last night. He took players on, good dribbling and control. Good crosses too. Lets hope he continues playing like this. Well done LFC

I'd like to see Downing given an extended run on the left. He was good last night - although gash this season so far. I have all the time in the world for Henderson. He is young and this is a big step up. Downing, however, needs to prove his worth quickly. His resale value will not be much a couple of years from now.

liverpool aren't getting the goals with kuyt or carroll,so we need soldado because spanish players have braced our club and luuk de jong. i bet mancini regrets selling BELLAMY on a free. haha

Sold him for free? No wonder Britain is in a recession.

Kuyt palyed his best match this season last night

"Have braced our club and luuk de jong"! What the hell is that supposed to mean? {Ed002's Note - Man you need to stay hip with the language us kids are using now.}

It means Spanish players have embraced our club and luuk de jong. De jong has reportedly asked them to stop.

Hi from Australia, just been chatting with my wife's boss who has connections with Melbourne Victory board members. He was down at training this week before the Sydney game. He chatted to some players, one of which was Harry Kewell. He got the impression that Liverpool aren't going the spend big in this transfer window (over valuations), unless players meet liverpools valuations.But summer would be a different situation.

Well thats his impression.....

F$@$ melbourne victory!!!!! what would harry who know....

adelaide liverpool fan

Harry Kewell was one of the most disliked players inside the club when he was in a red shirt. There is no chance he knows anymore about what's going on than my Nan- and she doesn't even follow football. It's a bit like saying "Tony Blair reckons we might spend some money...or might not. Depends." Cheers for that.

And what would Harry Sick Note Kewell know

I met Bernard Diomede in Aberdeen the other week and he told me we are def signing Hazard and Lee Trundle in jan. Aquilani will also be taking the armband off gerrard for next season with Koncs coming back to back up aurelio as Enrique is going to Dagenham. ITK

Harry Kewell wasn't that clued in when he was at the club, so I doubt that he is any more knowledgable now that he's on the other side of the world.

Hi eds, do you know if there's any truth in the Hleb joining Liverpool on a free transfer story? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

Complete rubbish.

This is pure Paper gossip of the poorest quality. 4 or 5 years ago sure i could have seen it, now utter rubbish.

Joao Carlos Teixeira has already signed, had this confirmed from a source last night.

Adam2050

Never ...

Tell us something we don't already know ...

Wat website i wanna ceck that out

Pity it wasn't David Texiera although I am sure this young mid fielder will be an asset to the club.

What a source you have,to have this confirmed at an early stage is wonderfull!

Ed can you give us a analysis of all the players we have been linked with in the past few weeks and the chances to sign them or whatever you can put or know. Please dont put players like Tevez, Kaka and Cavani on there cuz we have no chance for them. Thanks M8 {Ed002's Note - That is simply not possible. Folks produce a weekly round up. If you cannot wait for that, perhaps you could take the time to read the posts.}

Ed, can you also pick up my dry cleaning and something for my tea tonight

Joehoover

I have read all of the posts.
but it seems like we we are linked with Granero, Jelavic, Honda, and others then I hear we will not be signing any of them on here same goes with Bent and Defoe. So who do we actually have a shot at?!
Cheers Ed. {Ed002's Note - Where there is interest it is explained. Look for the round up. We are not going to be drawn in to giving lists of names.}

26 Jan 2012 09:22:59
Olic an option for us or not? {Ed002's Note - Ivica Olic wants first team football assured and there is no way Bayern Munich are prepared to do that (a similar situation to Kalou). He is out of contract in the summer and can talk to foreign clubs in January and sign a pre-contract agreement. At 32 he should cost about 4M euro with confirmed interest from Galatasaray, Lazio and Wolfsburg. I think the most likely scenario is that he will stay at Bayern Munich until the summer and then move taking a decent signing on fee.}

Morning eds.
Have liverpool submitted a bid for muaricio isla... And is this guy any good? Haven't seen any of his games. Great result lastnight. Gonba be a good day out on the 26th of feb. Cheers. Stew

mornin eds alot goin round last night about isla is there anythin in the rumours?

{Ed002's Note - Our understanding is that Napoli, PSG, Liverpool, Roma and Inter are all interested in Udinese's wing back Mauricio Isla, but no firm offers have been made. Liverpool may well see him as a summer replacement for Glen Johnson.}

I would not sell Johnson, and whats the point in splashing out £15m or so on another right back when we have Kelly who is a better all round player to replace Johnson if he were to go ..

Hes a pretty good player in my opinion, however VERY attacking! although thats a good thing it can also cause problems at the back! he used to link amazingly well with sanchez with udinese

Read that us and Man Utd are eyeing Jores Okore, 19 year old Danish defender.
Also that us and QPR are looking at bring ex-Aresenal midfielder Hleb back to the Prem...
Both of there are just paper-gossips...anyone confirm?
Just wanna add last night's performance - especially by Bellamy - was the lift we needed. YNWA

Good morning Eds and fellow Reds.
Wonderful result, great for the teams confidence.

I have been following the Harry Redknapp (when at Portsmouth) court case with interest, and in particular the commissions paid on transfers.
It got me thinking, who would have received the commissions (if indeed the case) at LFC and the other clubs we were involved with, with regards to recent transfer activity.
Harry Redknapp supposedly received 5% as Director of football and 10% as manager for the deals he was involved in.
Maybe the EDs can clarify this, with regards to LFC, because if this model and structure still exists, somebody made some very nice money with transfers 'in and out' in the last 2 football transfer windows.
Regards and thanks, Food for thought. {Ed002's Note - The case with respect to Portsmouth was somewhat of an exception because it was the clarity of payments and the tax paid on those payments that has resulted in the case being brought. There have been others incentivised, quite legally, by profits made on transfers - and I recall Ian Holloway was one who openly discussed this in the past. There is nothing illegal in this of course, but morally many consider it inappropriate on the basis that there is a possibility that a move could be arranged that is not in the best interests of the club or the player. Putting aside the Charlie Adam transfer, for the transfers that Liverpool have made recently, the commissions that have been paid will, as far as I am aware, be to "agents" and other "representatives" (e.g. possibly someone who made an introduction). It is these other "representatives" who are becoming a blight on the game and efforts are being made to ensure only licensed agents are involved in transfers. However, what is happening to many clubs is player "representatives" (in many cases these people are nmot even known to the player or his agent) approaching a club to say "player x is interested in a move to your club and I can get introductions made" etc.. This is the issue that Ancelotti was referring to a couple of weeks back when he said "hundreds of players had been offered to him" or whatever.}

Mousa Sow and Senegal are out of the African Nations Cup. Do you think we can push formward with the deal now? {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool have an interest you would have expected an approach to have been made to Lille. It is not too late, but they have not made any such approach yet.}

After watching them play you can why there out. And in all honesty it is the deffeces in the competition that are really poor, the forwards should be having a field day there.

What i have seen of Sow he don't exactly look any better than what we have, also what happens if he don't adapt ?
Id either go for a proven premiership striker if possible or go and get Hunterlaar from Schakle at least him and Suarez can play together and most importantly score goals..

Hi Eds

Do you know why the sale of Moussa Sow to Fenerbahce has not gone through yet? Is is due to him being at ACON or is there still a chance LFC could put a bid in?

Also any updates on Keisuke Honda? I have read on here that his move to Lazio has stalled. Is this true and are we likely to make a bid? I know we have been interested in the past. I personally think he would be the perfect signing

Thanks

Keviniho {Ed002's Note - I don't know why the Sow deal has not been finalised, everything had been agreed financially. Liverpool could certainly make a bid but one would expect them to have done so already if they were interested. I will see if I can find out more. As for Honda, recent enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo but given the player has been out injured much of the time since September and I am not so sure CSKA will want to sell just yet unless they get a good price - which seems to be as close to 20M euros as they can muster. If he does move now then Lazio and PSG are the most likely options - but Lazio need to free up a non-EU quota slot and that has caused the delay.}

Sow could be on... Senegal are out of AFCON as of last night. I think KK might put in a bid

Hope not don't think he is the answer for us, and at £10m plus future add ons id rather add extra £8m or so and go and get someone better perhaps Hunterlaar, Podolski, Damiao or Soldado ..

Fenerba is accused of match fixing. The Team will be suspended that's why Sow is not going. This info has been confirmed by Lille. Lille is trying to find a buyer for Sow because they have already purchase N. Roux and because will have no value on the market this summer.

If honda has been out for so long it must have been a bad injury , and is he fully recoverd from this injury , without knowing this liverpool should realy stay away from honda , theres someone out there , that know one has looked at yet ,,,,,,,,,,,mickyb

heard this side that mcgeady is defo trying to get outa spartak and with everton billy going there it is a strong possibility, i hope not he is no where up to liverpool standard bottom end of epl at best would love if we could get cavani

Be realistic mate, we are not a champions league side at the moment whereas napoli are challenging for it every season. Lets just get behind the team and push them into fourth place, a league cup win would be a start of the renaissance. YNWA!

juventus apparently made elia available for loan, any interest ed's? {Ed002's Note - Elia looked certain to move to Valencia a year ago with Liverpool and others considering the player too expensive. He decided to stay in Hamburg and then took the option of a move to Juventus over Newcastle - but it has not really worked out and Juve will be willing for him to make a move on loan with, I expect, an option to buy. Everton, Hertha Berlin and Newcastle have apparently shown interest in the past few days and his representatives are looking to place him in a northern European side where he will get a regular start.

We need pace ..

Juvents will loan out both Elia & Krasic with the option to buy ..

Does it not make sense to get them asap and inject pace and flair to the side ..

BigD {Ed002's Note - Krasic is close to a deal with Lazio.}

Thanks ed002 for that didn't know nothing about Krasic & Lazio, how much are Juvents want for Elia?

Also is Farfan out of contract in the summer ? A lot of teams wont take the risk on him because he has a similar injure to Demba Ba, but do you think we could be interested?

BigD {Ed002's Note - If Farfan does move, I expect Italy with Inter, Juventus, Palermo or Roma and probably not before the summer. An attempt by Schalke to have Farfan extend his contract have failed and the club have already made it clear that they will sell in January for 7M euros, but a niggling and recurring knee injury is keeping buyers away. As for Elia, I don't know if Juventus would be willing to sell now, but they are open to a loan which would probably cost any interested parties perhaps 1M euros plus wages. Krasic is available for sale of course, but there seems only to be interest from Lazio in buying rather than loaning the player.}
