i read we could move for adebayor in the summer coz spurs cant afford his wages and transfer value! any truth or possibility?

Adebayor has said himself he will happily take a wage drop to make his move to Spurs permanent, so he will not move to us.
I'd have liked a move for him when he was available, though - attitude aside, he's a big, strong number 10 who can actually score goals, and would have made a good partner for Luis.

Ed i know you don't think twitter is reliable but there is a guy jeremy_lfc who was spot on like you guys are all summer and with injury news. He has just said that we had scouts at napoli vs city and then spoke with lavezzi's agent afterwards. Do you see this as a possible jan transfer? {Ed001's Note - more likely any move would happen in the summer.}

Ed a reliable guy on twitter (yes i know) said that liverpool have very recently been told that luuk de jong won't move in jan. I this is correct what other striker/winger options are there? I would love lavezzi,podolski or hulk? {Ed001's Note - I believe he was being signed as a striker, but I will have to see if I can find anything new out. He was originally seen as a summer target anyway, the move was only seeming likely because so many other clubs have shown an interest in him.}

ed any chance of us offering say 20m plus aquilani for pato {Ed002's Note - They will want £40M for Pato or somewhere close to it. Aquilani will cost 5M euro (£4M) - it is not a viable option.}
Is aquilanis valuation so low because everyone knows he wants to leave liverpool or is there another reason as well NZL_REd {Ed002's Note - It is part of the deal for completing the transfer. The total payable will be a little higher to compensate Liverpool for the wages they are still paying the player - but he will be gone soon in any case.}

any chance of liverpool enquiring about robin van persie? out of contract soon at arsenal and if he has any sense he wont sign a new one, so surely a decent bid from liverpool could bring him to anfield? good partnership with suarez too as andy carroll is no where near good enough to wear a liverpool shirt, id rather have kept david ngog!

Im afraid that Liverpool would be well out of their depth with a move for RvP at the minute, every club in the Champions League will want him, id say that at the minute we would be behind Inter, AC, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Man United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and many more such as the Turkish and Russian billionaire clubs, and Malaga who have a fortune, im afraid we simply would not be at the races for him at the minute.
The only possible way forward may be a deal in principle based on our quae champions qualification for the champions league?

I don't care what you think of Carroll...his price tag means he simply can not be written off as "not good enough." He's young, so we really need to give him time to improve. That's it. There's nothing more we can do that doesn't involve basically flushing his transfer fee down the drain. So can't we just think positively about him and hope he comes good?

The price "mentioned" by Lille for Hazard was 50M euros - perhaps £44M. That is true. The bid for Clayton may well be true as there was earlier interest although I have no confirmation at this time.}

I'd like to see Pato as our 3rd striker with maybe Aquilani going the other way permanently to reduce the fee, for something like £25m-£30m overall, that would be cracking business.

How many times do you fools have to ask these questions over and over.... Eden Hazard DOES NOT WANT TO COME TO LIVERPOOL. He has made this clear. He wants to go to Madrid, or Milan. he would never come to Liverpool, it is not even theoretical, he has SAID IT EXPLICITLY.

Liverpool dont have the pull to get players like Hazard, Pato or RVP who are wanted by Europe's top clubs. And by that I mean Europe's top clubs now, not 10 or 20 years ago

Eds ive heard recent rumours about keita coming to liverpool what are the chances ? {Ed001's Note - I have heard the rumours, but none of them seem to have originated from a good source, no one I knows believes them to be true. So I would have to say it is unlikely, though I don't know anyone with a connection to Barca to confirm or deny anything for definite.}
