They take a few Legends to ease the press commitments for the playing staff. God is there, and one more who I'm struggling to remember.

Pass on all our regards to Neville Southall Ed025, his anti-austerity tweets were bang-on.
Tell him to keep the red flag flying, so to speak, haha.

{Ed025's Note - i will do juicer, but it will probably be by a chippy in llandudno mate..

I was a kid in the Liverpool v Everton FA cup final in 1986. My dad took me to the team hotel where Everton were staying before the final. I met most of the players including Tony Cottee and big nev.

Big Nev let me (aged 7) take penalties against him in the car park - a couple of hours before they left for the match. Ill never forget it, good lad!

Met him again when I was aged 35 at a charity football tournament where he was playing for a vets team and I had a team out. I asked him if I could take a pen then, but he wouldn't have a bar of it!

Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a new LFC deal and will join Eintracht on a season-long loan - from the club's website.

Just curious ed, we are struggling a lot to get a work permit for him, is this going to be an investment with a view to a sale for a decent fee or are the club looking at him as a 1st team player at some point in the future?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - the initial plan was to get him in as a long term first team player, with a view to a sale if he doesn't make it.}

25 Jul 2018 17:25:49
Has anyone watched him play? Curious to know what he’s like. Ta.

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Jul 2018 18:32:23
I haven’t watched him play much, just the occasional game here and there. To me he’s sort of like a mini Alonso, keeps the ball ticking, over with a great eye for a pass and is positionally aware enough to be effective when defending, although obviously he isn’t a powerhouse tackler. Main strengths are his first touch, passing range, vision and calmness on the ball. Main weakness is his somewhat diminutive stature and lack of physical strength.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jul 2018 19:43:15
Thanks Westwood, hopefully he’ll get his chance with us one day (WP permitting) .

25 Jul 2018 20:39:16
You could be describing a young Iniesta there.

If only!

Fingers crossed he continues to develop.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have to say that there are many who see him with a great future but he needs to break out of the situation he is in, get back to South America for a year and then look for a progressive move to Europe.}

25 Jul 2018 22:41:55
Big Sami in defensive coaching role would be the dream.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Jul 2018 22:43:40
I hope so T Dig buts it looking more and more unlikely every year. I’m surprised he’s sogned a new deal with is to be honest.

25 Jul 2018 18:52:58
Ed, what exactly does this fella need to achieve in order to be eligible to play in England? What needs to happen? Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there are loads of ways, from getting citizenship of a European country to playing international football.}

26 Jul 2018 00:11:59
What is preventing him from getting a work permit? Previous criminal history?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - lack of international appearances, lack of citizenship of a European nation etc.}

26 Jul 2018 10:30:35
Criminal history? Why on Earth would you assume that? Be careful what you say about a player on a rumours website, that's how rumours get started.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 13:45:16
How do Spanish teams ie Madrid buy this kids from South America no issues? Is it to do with having g Spanish heritage or something?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "no issues". If you are referring to Work Permits then it is simply a matter of the rules being different in England to other European countries - as many of the rules related to the recruitment of players are.}

26 Jul 2018 15:51:30
I know that several Latin American countries have things in place where their citizens if they live legally in Spain for 2 years they can apply for citizenship. I wonder if Brazil and Portugal have such an arrangement too. Makes you wonder if a loan to Portugal would have been a better move for him than Germany and Greece.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A passport of convenience would not help with any attempt by Liverpool to cheat the system.}

25 Jul 2018 09:19:54
Sheyi Ojo is linked with moves to either Nottingham Forest or Reading, according to The Echo. Forest apparently interested in a £10m purchase, Reading interested in a loan.

The source of the story (Googling it and looking for the oldest news article) seems to be The S*n so not sure on accuracy. For obvious reasons, I didn't click through to the original story.

Chiravella also appears to be linked with Forest, although The Echo says they are unlikely to move now they have Colback on loan again for the season.

Both of them are 21, both have been highly thought of, and both are of an age where they should be getting starts in the first team (at least for cup games) if they have a longer term future at the club.

I wonder if other, younger, players have overtaken them in the pecking order and therefore a move (even permanent) is probably best for their careers?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

25 Jul 2018 09:53:53
Yeah Chirivella in particular is never realistically gong to break into the team, so may as well get him a good move and a few bob for our troubles. I like Ojo as a player and think he's got potential but needs to find consistency and won't get the game time at Liverpool. Really now with Shaqiri there is little room for Ojo, especially considering we've got Camacho and Adekanye coming through and of course Wilson out on loan. I'd take 10 million pounds for Ojo in a heartbeat. Pity I don't own him, though.

25 Jul 2018 12:16:02
I’d snap their hands off for 10m.

Annoying when you start reading a story and halfway through you see that rag is the original source.

I just instantly stop reading it and couldn't be bothered what the rest says.

25 Jul 2018 07:20:27
It's true, we'll sign Fekir on the 4 Aug 2018 at 12:10:59.

This story came from Jean Sebastien on twitter, pay no attention mate if its from that site because 99.9% of the time it's nonsense. For the record, I do still believe Fekir will sign, but saying he's going to sign on X day is pretty daft, how would he know that lol.

Agree17 Disagree9

25 Jul 2018 08:09:36
hahaha, why August 4 specifically? Because he wants to catch the Cheltenham Cheese and chilli festival? Or because it's the anniversary of the death of King Henry I (the French one)? Or to commemorate the unification of the Duchy of Brittany with the Kingdom of France? Or maybe Napoleon's victory at the battle of Lonato? No no, it must be to celebrate the invention of champagne by Dom Perignon. That's the one. Looking forward to it. :)

How can anyone be so stupid as to believe this garbage from Twitter!

It’s actually going to be announced on Monday August 6th, time TBA but the wind in Liverpool will be in a westerly direction and Klopp will be wearing green trainers in the photo shoot.

A little birdie told me 😉.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

25 Jul 2018 07:02:39
James Pearce saying we have no interest.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it would be a surprise, especially considering he has a bit of a wild lifestyle. He was thrown off the team bus at Dinamo (I think Zagreb) for cracking open a bevvy on the way to a game, among a number of other incidents. He is not what you call a professional in his outlook.}

25 Jul 2018 07:49:41
