Hi Eds, I don't suppose you would be good enough to provide a short insight into the season plan for Solanke and Origi would you please? Obviously both are sat at 3rd/ 4th choice, but are they expected to get a cup run? Destined for a January move? Thanks in advance.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - Origi was supposed to go out on loan but it fell through. One will go out on loan in January, is the plan, one will just be cover and probably get a fair few games if we progress in the cups.}

Ed001 am I mistaken or do I recall you saying you'd prefer Origi to be the one given that chance? Or perhaps that was in comparison to Sturridge or Ings, not sure.
I know Solanke and Origi are quite different, so which do you think is best suited to this team and has more potential to remain useful beyond this season, if either?
Also, where can I find any player profiles you've done on Liverpool players?
Thanks a million as always.

{Ed001's Note - I do think Origi has more to offer yes. As for player profiles, they are on the player profile site in the drop down menu at the top. Sorry am on my phone at the dentist so can't put the link in.}

No worries I found it all by myself. Go me!
I'm a little torn because I think Solanke has more developing to do but I'm not sure how much potential he really has, while Origi has had more time to reach his potential but has so far pretty badly failed to do so. In retrospect perhaps signing Solanke and loaning out Origi was a mistake. I'd be happy to see them playing and scoring for us or sb else, but there simply isn't room for both at Liverpool.
I liked Origi a lot when he was in our team, although he could be infuriatingly inconsistent, but Solanke has the advantage of age, Englishness and contract length. Perhaps an unfair advantage for Origi, but the reality all the same.
I'd be interested in your and other readers' opinions on comparing the two directly and which people would pick.
Thanks again Ed001.

Cup games, like this week, I’d rather we went with Sturridge!

I was wondering about this today and then I suddenly remembered that Brewster is meant to/ expecting to be a part of the first team squad when he gets back from injury too - how likely do you think it is that he will get some first team game time this year Ed001? Obviously no one expects him to get into the starting 11, but I'd also be surprised to see him make the match day squad much at all this year too unless we have a good cup run. He decided to ignore interest and stay with us for a reason though surely?

{Ed001's Note - it depends on his recovery, too many ifs and buts at the moment. Which is probably why he stayed.}

Thanks for taking the time out to reply Ed001 - Personally I'd like to see Solanke get a Prem loan at a Bottom half side, like Huddersfield, who struggle with finding the back of the net and see if he really does have what it takes to be a competetor at this level. Origi I feel still has a part to play as he can cover a wide position if required.

{Ed001's Note - I feel the same way.}

Ooohhh yeeeeah, haha, Brewster TOTALLY slipped my mind there yesterday. Right so, problem solved, once Brewster is fit it'll be neither Solanke or Origi, sorry lads!
And Firmane I agree Sturridge is second choice but I'm thinking more long-term and specifically who has or hasn't got a future at the club.
Our first team squad is so good and solid now that it only leaves the backup guys to even talk about.
Outs -> Mignolet, Clyne, Moreno, Lallana, Origi, Solanke
Ins.

I like Brewster but I don't think he is ahead of Origi or Solanke for that matter. He plays without fear, he has a very clean strike, good ball control, starting to run good channels, but the question mark over him is whether he can adapt when he is playing against men eg he relies a lot on his pace. This becomes even more pertinent since we don't know how he will come back from his injury.
