Hey eds, are Liverpool interested in saponara of Empoli? Don't know anything about the player, just read he's carrying a team out of relegation and Liverpool is. interested.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect a misunderstanding - it is another side from Liverpool who are interested. Empoli's Riccardo Saponara continues to be of interest to both Everton and Juventus who have been told they will not listen to offers before the summer. Previous interest of Norwich has waned.}

Any truth in the rumours linking us with Sofiane Boufal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Although Sofiane Boufal only moved to Lille in January 2015, a bid from Spurs is expected in 2016. PSG and Monaco have both had the playter watched regularly and PSG has spoken with Lille to see if some sort of deal may be possible. Arsenal and Lyon have also had the player watched this season.}

Coutinho

Recent form shows that coutinho likes playing for Klopp and his new methods and is now scoring again and what i like is not the world class goals, his goal against man city was like a poachers goal.

This got me thinking do any of you guys think that Coutinho got fed up of playing for Rodgers? I think that if Rodgers was still here come Januray phil could of been off to Barcelona that's my personal thought, i know it might not of happened but he looks a completely new player.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I have explained before that outinho has said that he will leave Liverpool in the summer if they don't have Champions League football - this was said to three of his International colleagues. He is also aware of interest from Barcelona and one of the three is a Barcelona player.}

24 Nov 2015 11:59:58
Didnt he come out and say that he has no intentions of leaving Liverpool tho?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, he is a flake.}

24 Nov 2015 12:14:50
hopefully itll be a case of leaving if we don't get CL and staying if we do, simple as.

to be fair, to keep your best players, you need to be successful and play in the champions league.

players are human too, they have a very short career, and if they feel they can win more elsewhere, and they have the opportunity to go elsewhere, they will.

klopp is our opportunity in making him stay, if we are successful of course.

Bloody hell Ed that's bad news then mate. You think Klopp can change his mind? CL is a big ask this season imo.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new here - the club will know about it.}

24 Nov 2015 13:28:13
We currently have all season to make up a 6 point gap, it's not that big an ask.

I just don't think he is ready yet to go to Barcelona or madrid and i don't see where he would fit in just yet. I think Coutinho can be world class but is he in that bracket yet? No shows moments of world class but not consistently for me. He is still young and he needs to stay with Liverpool for at least another season and see what Klopp has got to offer as this is not his full first season (i know he took over quite early on) It would be interesting to see when these comments where made about leaving Liverpool in the sense of was it when Rodgers was here or even now that Klopp is in?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It was when Rodgers was there - but it was about being in the Champions League - and not who the manager was. Bayern Munich also watched Countinho at the end of last season at a game in London.}

24 Nov 2015 15:17:39
I would rather he go Barcelona than man city. U know man city has habit of buying players that did well against them.

i think klopp has changed his mind.

Personally wouldn't blame him if he left in the summer if we are outside the cl. We would get a substantial sum and I think it would be a case of just having to give thanks to a player who has been successful for us and respect that as a top player wants to play in the biggest games possible. If we make cl and he stays then all the better still!

I'm hoping he'll be a bit more invested than just 1 season under Klopp with all the potential he brings to the club (not to mention the possibility of him building a lasting partnership with Firmino that could possibly see them leading the attack for Brazil for years) .

I'm not sure of we'll make top 4 this season, but if we keep the side together under Klopp I can definitely see a run at the title in a year or two. Would be a shame if he left before testing exactly how far Klopp can take this side with a bit of time to mature this relatively young squad.

Lets hope your right Zimbo mate. Surely Lucas and Firmino will have an influence on him staying?

If we continue playing the way we are, there's no reason why we can't win the Europa League and qualify for the CL that way. I'd much rather we concentrate on that, than the Carling or FA Cup.
Still confident of a top four finish too.

Suarez Neymar messi are leagues ahead of him at the moment. If he's bought as a centre mid, then busquets is almost guarenteed the Cdm role, so he's in direct competition with iniesta, sergi and rakitic. I know iniesta is getting on and he could play out wide too, but there's not many starts for attacking players in that team.

I'd imagine things will have changed slightly since klopp has arrived.

If we don't make CL this season but coutinho sees improvement then I'd imagine he will give us another season.

Coutinho wants to play with neymar and Barcelona needs a replacement for Iniesta.

I prefer that coutinho leaves if he feels so than stay with us and leave like suarez.

Barcelona already have a replacement for Iniesta. They've bought 2 midfielders they can't play yet. I still see Coutinho moving to Barcelona as a MASSIVE mistake on his career.
Reitic, Turan, Rafinha, Roberto, and Iniesta are all competing for places, Then in the forward 3 you have Neymar Suarez and Messi. I just don't see how he gets regular game time, especially in that front 3 unless Messi moves on. Even then Barcelona have Vidal, and 2 youth products, who are in the squad. It'll be tough going and he'd have to really step up his game.

If coutinho does go then at least playing under Klopp will have increased his price tag and increased the chances of getting a decent replacement due to the Klopp effect.

Mr. Bobatron I always read your posts.

Im from barcelona and i have watched barça for many years as well the spanish league, so let me give my two cents.

Rakitic plays with iniesta so its not a replacement he is a player from the starting 11. Also, rakitic is different from iniesta doesn't has a lot of flair is more like a midfielder with good shoot to mantain posession. You don't see him doing many combinatios with the front 3.

Turan is more like a winger but certainly is a good option. However i never have seen playing with barça.

Rafinha isn't like iniesta and never will be. Is a very strange player, has good dribling but is not a good paser, moreover he never sits in midfield to elaborate is more like a forward with good techinque.

Sergi roberto, believe me with this, now he seems good but barça is playing very well and has players who cover his shortages. He is a mediocre player, only has physique and that is a masia product if not it would not have any options to play.

Vidal is a winger who won't play in iniesta position i think that barça wants him in alves position.

I agree that turan is the replacement but barcelona is now one of the best and needs more top players if one gets injured or is playing bad and trust me barça doesn't has that many options in midfield.

I hope that my explanation has given some insight, excuse my english and keep the good job and those nice discussions for us who love this sport! Thanks.

Hello eds. Ed001/002 I really don't think Origi has it in him to make the cut and I think Sturridge is a waste of resources. I read a while back that Icardi was someone Klopp could look to bring in. Any truth in this? Also regarding a new CM have Liverpool had any interest or inquiries for Leon Goretska? Seems to be taking the Bundesliga by storm, Schalke are lucky to have so many young talented players like him, Sane, Ayhan, Meyer. Thanks Eds!

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Inter's Mauro Icardi has been subject to sustained interest from Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, with both Arsenal and West Ham watching the player late last season. He was very much Chelsea's first choice striking addition for the summer of 2015 but he eventually signed a new deal with Inter - a contract that is in his favour unlike the one he had previously. It seems unlikley, regardless of a number of difficulties there are with the player, that they would look to sell in January unless they were to recieve a very, very good offer. However to counter that, Inter need to raise money for purchases and are actively looking at players with Piero Ausilio attending two recent games in London and holding discussions with Chelsea over another player.

Goretzka has been of interest to Southampton since the spring but Schalke has no intention of selling in the short-term.

You are certainly correct that Schalke seem to have hit a rich vein of well respected youngsters.}

Inter Milan has to be one club that can rival Liverpool for constant re-builds. They seem to be in for a lot of players!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They are all over the market right now. Ausilo has been showing up at games and talking to teams about a number of players.}

24 Nov 2015 13:19:53
Origi doesn't have it in him to make the cut? Based on the 4 games or so he has started, being a 20 year old from Belgium in a new league but has already played in a World Cup? Absolute nonsensical comment. He needs time, thanks god you're not managing. We would be rebuilding the team every fortnight.

Genuinely sad to live in a time when fans are so casual about their insults to players. It's one thing to believe that Sturridge will be unable to be effective enough for us in the future but when did phrases like 'waste of resources' start to become okay? Speaking of which, when did it become okay to describe any human like that?

24 Nov 2015 16:11:20
If Sturridge is fit, he's one of the most devastating forwards in the league (only Aguero can realistically compare in full flow IMO) . I think we'd be crazy not to see if we can get another full season or more with him post his surgery.

In terms of Origi, he's a 20yr old that has performed on the biggest stage (albeit briefly), so while he had a poor season with Lyon and hasn't shone just yet at Liverpool, he clearly has the physical attributes and talent. With time and training under someone like Klopp, I think he has real potential to turn into a top striker or Winger. Let's let him develop and judge him in a year or two shall we?

Origi is increasingly looking like a rich man's Carlton Cole.
