sky sports and the bbc are saying that Martinez is in miami , our owners are from boston , were does the owner of aston villa , randy learner come from ,any where near miami , {Ed016's Note - No he lives in NYC)

John H lives in Boca Raton Florida and Martinez is apparently holidaying in Brazil so Miami would be convenient for both...maybe.

Randy lerners over here anyway in his house near bodymoor heath.

can the eds give us an update on official happenings please like timeline for manager who the candidates are transfer funds etc ...?theres alot of stuff flying about maybe if an ed can give us a brief summary of what really is happening ?? {Ed016's Note - No one knows. Thats why the media are making up stories left right and centre. We never officially know transfer funds or when things will happen down to the time and date sorry)

Hi Ed/'s, hope you're all well today. (again, lol).

Sorry for it being random and off-topic, but I have a question regarding contracts again. A story popped up on my Facebook that Ba may be available to leave, but the question I'm asking is that I read he has a 7 million release clause and if sold for 7, he is entitled to 3 million of it? Is this true?

If so, I really don't understand. Why is he so cheap? Why did they give such a contract so he can so easily be bought? If you can give any clarification it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any response, Ell. {Ed016's Note - do a google search on Demba Ba's injury history)

I believe he has a dodgy know also not sure how true but he cant be insured i was hoping we signed him from west ham n if i remember correctly we did have an interest and maybe even got as far as a medical which he failed im not 100% on that tho mayb the eds can clarify? CRAIG {Ed001's Note - his knees are gone.}

A great many posters moan on here about Liverpool's treatment by the media and yet they take in everything they say as gospel.
It is the media who are throwing all these potential manager's names into the air not FSG. Ignore all this froth this is lazy journalism trying to fill column inches. Then Liverpool supporters jump up and down and moan about various 'candidates' and there you go, the media have yet another story to use against Liverpool. Grow up and don't believe everything you are told

Puzzled {Ed016's Note - agreed)

Exactly...thats why ive asked the eds for a summary of what is goin on ....but its not been posted ...as usual..:-( {Ed016's Note - I just posted it. We can not really give you a summary, have you seen how much crap the media is posting? a new name every 30 minutes. Have a little patience, once the new manager comes in we will have a better idea on targets, sign your posts then you can search them. Check all the pages. Most times if your post was not posted and this is not just for you but in general it is because there are several posts on the same issue or your post was not appropriate)

I could not agree more mate.

James Mc

I couldn't agree more. FSG have done the right thing by doing everything in the USA, away from the spotlight, and behind closed doors. Anyone else out there getting very annoyed with Dave Whelan?

I think Mr Whelan is deploying spoiling tactics to annoy the Yanks in a desparate hope that his manager will stay

''Froth'',wonderful description.Well said !! B

Great post, well said mate

Barrypool

In my humble opinion...the reason why the search for a DOF and a manager is taking so long is because FSG are looking for a working two-man team rather than two guys great at their respective jobs, but not working well together. A shared view of tactics, transfers, desireable qualities for players in a certain position, and so on, would make things sooo much smoother, make the club seem ever so professional, rather than Rafa sulking over getting, say Keane...or Aquilani...or KK & club "handling" the Suarez-Evra incident...

Hear hear

Have Liverpool had any interest in Luciano Narsingh? Seems like he is just what we need, goal scoring winger..

24 May 2012 21:12:29
Couple of people on twitter (I know..) are running with the story Klopp has become target numero 1 and something will be announced tonight or tomorrow..

My guess is they are meeting with Klopp today/tonight to have his final verdict on the job. If he accepts we will see a statement, if he refuses we will continue the search..

The guys spreading this are Moose_TalkSPORT and cummings1986

You heard anything like this ed's/Macca?

JanBorman

I read the same things and tbh it wouldnt really surprise me as nothing does with lfc anymore
Would be delighted if klopp was manager
Apparently roberto was holding talks its villa and Lerner in miami and whelan was only assuming that it was us who were talking to him

The moose gets a lot of things right. It was a shock in the US when they replaced their last redsox manager, they work very much under the radar. only reason we know about martinez is because of whelan!

Well recent pictures show henry with martinez so we were talking to him for sure. Some people saying he spoke to both us and villa today though.

I am going to back every manager but would like klopp over martinez!

Would it be so unlikely for us to go for Matias Suarez from Anderlecht?
Thanks

20m euros for him, would depend on the Manager and DOF

CB; Musacchio -------- 8m euros
ST; M.Suarez --------- 20m euros
LW/RW; Elia ---------- 10m euros
RB/CB; Van Der Wiel - 10m euros
AM/CM; Granero ------ 8m euros
Lb/LCM; Vargas ------- 8m euros

= 64m euros or £51.2m would work like a charm.

bring back Aquilani, Pacheco

and get free-transfer; Nicolas Lodeiro

That is all the we need to make us title contenders.

What about Arjen Robben? He got booed by Bayern fans in the friendly against the Dutch. Surely he'll want out.
HuddsRed

We won't get him. I wouldn't want him

So are you telling me all German fans support Bayern Munich?

He signed a new deal a few weeks back

Maybe, but not to Liverpool

He will also want to play for a champions league side

Why would we want him? The guy is poison... Incredibly selfish,really one dimensional, cuts in and has a shot. Every single time. Never passes it. He's also a bottler.

He was easily the worst player in the CL final...

It was Bayern vs Holland , so not all german are Bayern fans, but all Bayern fans are Bayern fans

Just found out the editors on this site are everton fans {Ed016's Note - careful. I'm sure as hell not)

hi ed's/macca here is a thought, now man city will prob spend big on more quality foreign players, do you think the likes of adam johnson and james milner will be available this summer given the lack of football they both recieved this season or do you think they will hang onto them both just because they are english (home grown) ready for the new rule coming in. they are 2 very good players who could really add to are squad and english as well. also just 1 more thing i would like to say is i know alot of fellow reds are against martinez as being manager, but if he was installed as manager of are great club i would still like to think fans would get behind him and the team and give the guy a chance.

I'd have both Adam Johnson and James Milner

Adam Johnson is a greedy winger who constantly cuts inside for a shot and is predictable. James Milner is dirk kuyt markII. Also I would expect city would still want a lot for these players.

Yeah 1 for each wing

City will buy four or five for sure, and with a max of 25 per squad, sales will be made. I think both these players would be great for us.

The home grown rule has been in place for ages

I wish and hope there is more fans like u, who r willing to give martinez (if chosen) a chance, and just show the man the respect he deserves, some fans make me sick with the comments I've heard about the gentlemen, with class and talent some respect!

I like adam johnson a lot. he is a quality player and would be an excellent addition to our squad. Milner is a bit of an enigma to me. at times ive seen him fit in well with the quick move and thrust of MCity but at other times he looks like a headless chicken aimlessly wandering around the park and that worries me. he isnt a consistent enough performer for me.

24 May 2012 20:02:08
Ed, i looked at some of the players on the market for free, there really is some gems this year!
Especially players like Miccoli, Hoilett!
I know we do not have any sporting director or manager, but they can allways be used.
I mean look at Micolli, 32 years old, but would be a good player to take us to the top 4.
Serie A 2011/2012 goals : 16
Serie A 2010/2011 goals : 9
Serie A 2009/2010 goals : 19
Serie A 2008/2009 goals: 14
Serie A 2007/2008 goals : 8

We cant expect a player at his age to play very much, but this guy is deadly, hope we can get a few bargains this season after last seasons transfers

IraqKop

Im all 4 a bit of experiance.that midfield needs a maca!

Miccoli is what is to Palermo what the likes of del Piero was to Juventus and Nesta was to Milan. He is their captain and leader. Further more, Palermo will receive a significant cash boost as explained by Ed002 and I would expect Miccoli to stay, though I admit along with Lavezzi, those two are the closest things to Luis Suarez I have seen. Thoughts Ed002?

AG

Why not Quagliarella, he's 29 got 4 years in him considering Italians age like wine. decent enough record at every club he's been at.

Bayern Munich are making an offer for matias Suarez. Just thought is let you know for the people interested in what's going on with that player.

Enrique has been dreadfull for the 2nd half of the season. Cost us at least 12points and maybe a fa cup. I hope he is put on the back seat with a consistent lb on the cards.
AnfieldUSA

How did you work out that he cost us 12 points and it was spearing who cost us the fa cup

Enrique had no back up and because kenny made downing into an attacking midfielder with licence to roam , then enrique had to push forward , so watch the games and watch downing running back with players then just stopping his runs , he doesnt even put a tackle in on them , were as most full backs get cover from wingers

No one person cost us anything ,its a team sport - and if it was down to one person us losing the fa cup i personally would blame it on someone who,s name rhymes with Ray zpearing

So putting that in reverse then, Carroll should have been shipped out in January? Not taking the mick, but he was one of the only bright lights of a below par season.

You would be Tired to if u had to defend the gaps downing left for the first half of the season. Never mind the fact he put in more crosses than downing did all season so cut him some slack. He's the best lb we have had in ages.

At least he cost us 3 points against QPR. we conceded a goal against united in the FA cup for his stupidity. these happen when you get mediocre players from lesser sides. O hang on.... sorry newcastle united is above us in the table.

I totally agree Enrique was poor second half of the season. He seems to hold on to the ball for too long. Lets hope he just needed a rest.

Mighty reds

Here, here , he's s**te...need to sign a left back , and get rid of these type of players, their not fit to wear the jersey

"fans" like you lot make me sick. He was one of the best players we had for the majority of the season, ok he's had a few bad games but you can't call for his head already. It's probably you lot that keep asking for the likes of cavani etc, nothing will ever be good enough for you. Get in the real world!

Enrique was the best of last summers signings bar none.

Every player has a bad game here and there, he is no exception.

Gaz1975.

Great then send him back to us(nufc)

So your judging him on 2nd half of season and ignoring first half of season

Carroll was a bright light? he'd been dim since day one and only in the last 4 games YES FOUR games shown something that Resembles a flame.

For me i wouldn't put blame on jose on any points lost he has had a drop in form though and he annoys the hell out of me when he makes the BRILLIANT runs, to then take 5mins to pass the ball and even then he doesn't pass is the anyone on the edge of the box he crosses it for the other team to clear.

Cut enrique some slack. yes, he is sometimes cautious when running forward with the ball in the opposition half. why? because he is a left back! i lost count of the number of times that he was having to work his socks off to provide a passing option / overlap for downing who lost all confidence in his own ability (or is that realised his own limitations?). I would put money on stats reflecting he covered more ground on average per game than anyone in the team. and for a left back, that really isnt what you want. but what else was he to do? if he hadnt, we would have had almost zero attacking options down the left at all.

Enrique, best left back in years. Maybe he needs a bit more time to improve his decision making but he has the potential to be world class!

24 May 2012 18:48:10
Are we still interested in David villa and if we are should we go for him. {Ed002's Note - I would be surprised.}

Even with a broken leg he will be better than Andy Carroll

Injured and getting on........yeah sounds great.

24 May 2012 18:44:06
Chesterfield looking at Emile Heskey and Sheff Wed looking at Raheem Sterling on loan

RedStone

Sterling is better than that, Bolton at a minimum, but for oncewe should be like other top clubs and loan him to a premier league side!

Why not let Tranmere have Sterling. Win win situation, he gets experience they get his ability. Plus we help our neighbour and build bridges as a feeder club for local talent. Fox Dangerfield

Sterling is 17 and hence not old enough to be loaned I think.

AG

Bolton relegated to championship, sheff wed promoted to championship, hence same league, bolton stadium never full, sheff wed stadium always full, southampton promoted back to back, norwich promoted back to back,year !4, just saying how is bolton bigger and better than sheff wed? I would rather raheem play 4 sheff wed in a full stadium . And dave jones is a good manager to learn off, but so is owen coyle, but 1 team on a downer and 1 on the up!

24 May 2012 18:20:12
Ed are we still interested in soldado?
great work btw.

Thanks
Red T
{Ed002's Note - At the moment I rather think transfer plans are progressing.}

Cryptic answer there ed002, can you elaborate please, as you know something {Ed002's Note - Whilst I don't think anything will be completed until new staff have arrived I understand that a couple of clubs have been told that previous interest in players still remains. So nothing has been scrapped as far as I know - perhaps on hold would be the best term.}

Ed is soldado one of those players that have been told interest still remains? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to go there without knowing more. Sorry.}

24 May 2012 18:13:26

Preston have agreed the free-transfer signing of Liverpool youngster David Amoo. The 21-year-old striker will sign a one-year contract at Deepdale after his current Reds deal runs out at the end of June.

Striker? He was a winger most of the time we played him. Looked full of promise. Just a shame it never worked for him. RED LENIN

What a shame. why didnt dalglish or roy the boy give the guy a chance in the carling cup

How did you work out that he cost us 12 points and it was spearing who cost us the fa cup

How many promising youngsters are we going to let go for free. Rafa would have had something put in the contract so Liverpool would benefit.

24 May 2012 17:22:59
are you ok? hazard is way better than jarvis

JJ

This was supposed to be a reply to post sorry

JJ

Is that you matt?

What planet are you on? Jarvis is better than Hazard in mostly every aspect, His crosses are superb, makes hazard look like a rag doll

24 May 2012 17:16:27
Liverpool are currently said to be considering a bid for Bilbao's Markel Susaeta but face stiff competition from Manchester United .

Though, he can be targetted in the future but as for now it's not true as we've no manager or DOF.

We wont get him then

24 May 2012 16:53:41
eden hazard is no better than matt jarvis, let the big clubs squabble over him and we'll take jarvis who could be an absoloute gem of a signing. english, prem proven and outstanding attitude, every hazard lacks

No thanks, signing bad 'bargain' players is the reason we are in the position we are in

Are you joking

This is quite funny

I'd really like to see Jarvis at anfield

While it's insane to think that Matt Jarvis is better than Hazard I see what he's saying. I think Jarvis is a pretty good player and would come on the way cheap.

How many people have seen Hazard perform against top sides - he certainly doesn't play against them in the French League.

The first commenter is a t**t. in the position we are in. the former american owners are the reason we are in the position we are in the position we are in plus benitez left over signings.

Must be on goof balls

Jarvis and Hazard, well thats only once, I'd be watching them both in a straight line. Hazard is way better.

What planet are you on. Hazard is twice the player Jarvis will ever be. Jarvis is a poor mans Downing lol. if that wasn't clear i mean he is shocking

In that case we might as well sign fletcher as a better but cheaper version of messi ; ) taff red

Most people on here have not seen Hazard play except for youtube. Its always the same I remember when people were going on and on about Marveaux who has only made 7 appearances and has looked very poor. £30mil is a huge ask for a player who is very good yet lazy and inconsistent. You could buy Adam Johnson and Matt Jarvis and still have change.
The Hat.

The fact that 10 people agree with this is embarrassing. also i don't get this 'never played against a top side' - if messi played my pub team he'd still be the best player in the world.

p.s. he's played and scored against Liverpool..

You guys are delusional if you think Hazard isn't a brilliant player. I can see him being up there with Ronaldo in a few years. Jarvis isn't good enough for us, even if we finished mid-table again.
there are plenty of good young players out there, just need to have good scours to pick them out.

Gav the Red

I find it strange that if he's so good and he dreams of playing in Spain that Real or Barca are not interested.

Haha m8 youve just made my day. open ur eyes wud you

Gent's we are not in the picture at this stage of our development ( state of play) to sign Hazard. To quote the Great Bard "' You're Xbox we're more Atari"

Wat a load of bull Jarvis is another below par British player and I think we have Enuff of them in Henderson, Adams and downing

Matt jarvis is horrendous. what a dreadful signing he would be

24 May 2012 16:48:28
Hi Ed! Just wanted to ask if you guys reckon we could get any of Nesta, Del Piero, Gattuso since theyve all been released. Thanks! {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it given their ages.}

This isn't "Last of the Summer Wine" , this Liverpool Football Club :)

Why not Maldini, Baggio and Costacurta while your at it? :-S

Wow, what a player Nesta was. I remember seeing him in a pre-season game many years ago and he could run a game from the back. Brilliant player.

DaveyBootle

There age wouldnt come into it sfg dont want to buy old players yes they have come out and said this why because there is no resale value in doing so but. can u tell me how much liverpool can loose from giving a contract to someone who is a free agent . what can u lose out of something that was free sfg are not dumb. the reason u dont have a club is because u havent got the right stuff to figure out simple math . buisness sense . if u get a player for free and he can fill in for a season or two on a season running contract and do a better job than what we currently have then mark my werds they will be signed (craig bellamy) short example . now im not clever look at my wrighting for example somewhat retarded and im smarter than you people who belive we wont consider older players

{Ed016's Note - a "free" player can be anything but free. Considering Joe Cole actually cost 12 million in his contract alone)

24 May 2012 16:44:42
Liverpool scout told me they were going for a player called rene adler {Ed002's Note - No, he is joining Hamburg.}

24 May 2012 16:06:34
Hi eds, just wondering if there is anywhere to find a list of all the players released by european clubs? Would be thankful if any of you know of such a site?

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - tinyurl.com/6smd33y but it may take a while to load}

24 May 2012 15:57:46
Marc Albrighton 3m
Adam Johnson 14m
Falcao 30m
Manager AVB
Head of academy Kenny Dalglish
Director of football David Dein

Albrighton , yeah lets buy more crap from villa and falcao's buy out is like 40 mill, dream on lad and david dein is no dof but more af a chairman ceo ,christ get a grip of your self

And Jonjo Shelvey on lolypop sales

We can all dream. It will be more like

Victor Moses
Diame
More below par players
And Martinez manager

I like ur thinking!

Be happy with that

24 May 2012 14:54:48
Ed not a rumour but a question is it true that we are considering berbatov because i really hope not read it somewhere and not sure if its true or not
REDFOREVR {Ed002's Note - I really don't know but am aware of the rumours. To me it seems unlikely.}

Have to have a manager to do that

Berbatov did say in a recent interview (last week I think) that he would never play for man s**ty out of respect to the mancs so id doubt he would wanna play for us, and I also have my doubts wether the club would have him.

24 May 2012 15:34:22
hi eds have we confirmed any players coming to LFC no its early doors in transfer windows but like arsenal have signed podolski and and man u have just about got kagawa thanks {Ed002's Note - Not yet.}

Need a new manager first mate

Nothing is confirmed however supposed to be looking at Adam Johnson, Marc Albrighton and Clint Dempsey

24 May 2012 15:03:34
Hi Eds,
I have two questions,an opinion and a message.

Questions:
-Have we made a bid for G.Ramirez?
-Are we interested in signing S.Doumbia?
Opinion:
Roberto Martinez is going to be the new LFC manager not only because he's tactical wise but also because of his good relationship with the media,with Luis Van Gaal becoming his S.D.
Message:
JUST SUPPORT THE NEW MANAGER,GIVE HIM A WARM WELCOME!!,FELLOW REDS.

Y.N.W.A

The Anfield Swallow. {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. They will not now listen to offers less than 20M euros. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions took place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. Whilst Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time we cannot rule out Malaga, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. My understanding is that his recent words from his agent about an offer from an "important" EPL club having been made has been clarified to say that he had been misquoted and that an offer is being prepared to be submitted by an EPL club. So he is not saying that he was wrong just misquoted and the offer is on its way - which I guess makes more sense. He also said he had spoken with a "significant" German team - which I assume to Bayern Munich but it remains clear if he contacted them or they contacted him. His final statement was that Bologna would not make any decision on the future of the player until the season is over - which sort of implies that Bologna have forced him in to all of this. So as before, don't rule out Napoli, Malaga, Liverpool or Bayern Munich.

There was an enquiry from Newcastle and a failed offer from Lazio in January for Doumbia. Other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player as there is no pressure to sell. Roma are interested in the player but have yet to make any financial proposal and rumours persist of interest from Chelsea and Spurs. }

I'm sick of LFC fans telling us who to support and not to support. If Martinez is appointed I will voice my concerns as much as any manager. The fact your telling us to get behind them also confirms that you yourself have concerns. It doesn't make a very big statement if we get a mediocre manager. God we really have gone downhill.

Yea i want martinez because he his taticaly wise as well surely finishing just above the relegation zone means he got his tactics spot on this year ! as for been good with the media oh thats really going help us win games !
greenbloodredsoul

Football isn't about making big statements. Did barca make a big statement when they appointed there assistant manager as manager? They could of istantly got anyone they liked there the biggest and best team in the world by a country mile. When Utd signed fergie as manager was that a statement and yet look at the success they have had, while LFC has been hiring and sacking managers left right and center to make 'statements'.

Well he didn't get his tactics spot on at all. You are purely basing his managerial tactics on a late splurge of fine form towards the end of the season. What about the long, long run they went without a win? Okay they stayed up, so what?! I want a winner, not a manager who gets by. Some fans just say get behind the manager whoever it is and this is why we sit in midtable mediocrity.

King Kenny for Nobody of the Month Martinez would be a huge insult to us Reds

26% win rate at a mickey mouse club.
Kenny needed NET financial backing. He had none. G&H Mk2 have announced themselves.

What do people expect Martinez to achieve at Wigan? Smallest club with the tiniest budget in the prem and he has kept them up 3 years and done it playing good football. Kenny and Rafa wouldnt have managed to do what he's done

You know what? So did Roy (who has good relationship with the media) when he took over. And Roy has the ability to turn water into wine - better than 'tactical' Martinez. Yonks are in line to lose 2.5 years of severance fees when they sack Martinez in Dec 2012. Then you will see the return of Rafa.

How do you know what Kenny and Rafa would have done at a smaller club? Stop talking in possibilites. Martinez is a risk end of! We can't afford to take risks, which is why it makes the most sense to hire a manager who has experience at the highest of levels working in the realms of a massive club who 'apparently' want to win the league. Hiring Martinez doesn't suggest that in any form.

And people say the eds (ed002 in particular) don't post detailed answers

Good day ed(s) Any news on Nuri Sahin's situation at Real Madrid. doesn't seem to fit the bill there. Possible transfer this summer?

South African YNWA {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with BAyern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

Thanks ed002 much appreciated

Is there any interest in Marc Albrighton from Villa, Young and cheap. Could help solve our right midfield crisis?

What makes you think he would be cheap ?
Looked a good prospect the previous season but had a poor one this time around.

He is nothing special we need proven talent right now not might bes someone like pienaar would be better play on the left or right he would cost 3-4m nothin excessive an he has a better end product plus we can offer him more than the sh!+£

What makes you think he will be cheap?

We have no manager. They have no manager. Should be a doddle to arrange!

Well he fits the transfer policy
I'd have him he'd be great for the future

He is worse than downing is

We have enough donkeys on the wings we dont need another one !

Remember Downing!

Why waste money on players that are cheap and will maybe solve a problem? Sterling is free, young, hungry to prove himself... Lets not waste £3-5m on cheap solutions when we have potential waiting to prove themselves.

24 May 2012 13:11:43
Ian abraham is saying fsg are on there way to england and the managerial process will soon be over! I no talk sport aint a reliable source but the mousse normally doesn't get it wrong!

Nick from birmingham {Ed002's Note - The Mousse?}

The Mousse is Ian Abraham on talk sport {Ed002's Note - Not Moose then?}

Yeah, he's also saying that the new manager will be Klopp. I smell the faint stench of dog excrement in the air....

The Caribbean is closer to Boston than England

LOL - I take it you mean The Moose!

Good if true, worrying if it's Martinez.

If 'The Moose's' info is correct this time, it will be a first. The guy's a buffoon and even makes 'The S**' jourmalists look decent.

Talk sh--t allways get it wrong and that includes all of them

Just wondering eds,
Where the heck is simao now? he could be a decent back up... {Ed002's Note - Besiktas.}

24 May 2012 12:50:08
Sign Welliton, G.Ramirez and Hulk. Whoever the manager... Don't think Welliton will cut it? (UMAD?!?!) then get Doumbia or Falcao... It's obvious Welliton is the far cheaper option and is a proven goal scorer :)

And declare the club bankrupt within twelve months?

Go back to sleep there mate

Ramirez, Hulk and Falcao. Why not eh? Why don't we just get Llorente and Cavani as well just in case?

You, my friend, have been playing too much FIFA. Have you ever seen Welliton play?

Kalou on a free? Got to be worth a go surely?

Your having a laugh. RL

If he's willing to take a big pay cut - say to £50k a week on a 3 year deal then it would seem a good deal. Better that what we have but you've got to think he will want something in the region of £100k a week which would have to be a big no go.
MW

No he would have massive wage demands and he is far to inconsistent and overated

Inconsistent and overrated?

Sounds an ideal choice, if you ask me! :)

Daft wages, lazy player, very inconsistent...

SMc

Rrrrr touchay pi55 poor player mid table at best he's like a Kieran Richardson or oshea jus coz they're in a side that wins stuff doesn't make them any good he wiill end up at qpr. Stacey

No More Cheskie Rejects

No no way is he worth it

Id rather Bosingwa, who is also being released, sell Johnson, still have Kelly, Bosingwa and Kelly as rbs, with Kelly covering in the centre aswell, surely a good.option?

Anfield Andy

Us liverpool fans really are delusional aren't we? I'd have him in a heartbeat personally, 60 goals from midfield at chelsea..thats the kind of moneyball signing this club needs.

Chelsea play a 4-3-3 role he plays as a forward he's never played as a traditional wide player has Chelsea don't play 4-4-2 so he is a forward not a midfielder i

Could takE kuyts place, if he goes like, run all day, and faster! Freebie Aswell,, (but j cOle and jovanovic were aswell) so on that basis NOOOO

24 May 2012 11:09:03
Is it true that Van Gaal has told Liverpool FC that he wants to be manager?
Also is there any liverpool interest in Van der Wiel {Ed002's Note - Van Der Wiel will probably move in the summer and his preference remains Spain - and something may yet be worked out with Valencia. Real Madrid have also shown an interest in the player. Chelsea may maintain an interest but they remain more interested in Azpilicueta. Roma was another option for VDW but he has turned them down.}

Not sure you answered the first part of the question ED?! {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what Van Gall has told Liverpool.}

24 May 2012 10:59:52
I cannot understand why we are letting clubs take the p... when it comes to Aquilani- last year we had the same with Juve trying to get him on the cheap and now Milan are playing hard ball- why on earth do we let ourselves into this situation?
We need to give them an ultimatum- pay up what we want or he can come back and be a squad player at Anfield. Come on guys at the top SORT IT OUT. {Ed002's Note - But he does not want to return and I doubt the club want him.}

Aquilani is the only one taking the p---.

Thats all good and well ed 002 but in fairness we paid a lot of money for him and i can understand wat the poster is saying but at the same time ur right he has never wanted to be here so he should have been let go "on the cheap" a year or more ago! {Ed002's Note - Yes, but given time machines are not currently available, the solution rests in the future not the past.}

I wish an employe would take me on and pay me 80k a week and then let me tell them i dont want to work for them but i still want to be paid whilst i p~ss about in a nice sunny country!! the lads a joke, if we had the money city have, he would be sat in the reserves for the nxt couple of years not even getting on the bench!

I agree with this post totally. We should Tell Milan to pay up or bring him back here, stick him on the bench. Im sure his agent will pull his finger out and get him a club then. It is becoming a joke.

I agree that the Italian clubs have taken the mickey out of us with aqua, I know he dont want to come back to us but they should not be able to back track on an agreement that was made before the loan started. They either buy him for the agreed amount or tuff, he will rot in the reserves....

He was a good player when fit but you are right about clubs taking the mick. Its about time we put our foot down.

This whole thing about, we shouldn't keep the player because he doesn't want to be here is a load of rot. Look at Modric, sulked for a couple of weeks after the chelsea deal fell through, then came out and played his heart out for Spurs.
At times during the last season we were desperate for someone with Aquilina's passing ability, but everyone seems to be worried that if he doesn't want to be here, he'll jeapordise the entire team which is ridiculous

If he refuses to come back and play we should be suing him for breach of contract or telling him to buy the rest of his contract out if he doesn't like it over here.
He was quick enough to take our cash at the time!
There are too many players dictating to their clubs now. It seems a contract is not worth the paper it is written on if the player wants a move or decides he doesn't feel like playing for a club anymore. Like one of the other posters said I could just see me walking into work tomorrow and telling the boss I'm going to go and work somewhere else where the climate is better and the work rate is slower but I still want paying. I'd be out so quick my feet wouldn't touch the floor!

24 May 2012 10:59:18
Hey ed's...do you think Suso will play next season or ll he be loaned out??I suppose he has great potential.... {Ed002's Note - No decision would be made on that until a new manager is in place and he has had time to asssess the squad - so it will not be until perhaps the end of July or August before we know.}

He will be one of the best players in the academy, with a bit more experience he would be the attacking midfielder we've been missing all along. plus he links up well with sterling.

Why did he sign for a club he doesn't want to play for?! If he doesn't want to play then he should either buy himself out of his contract or rot in the reserves.

I hope Suso gets a chance soon, he is a class player and will hopefully be groomed as Gerrards replacement

Jan Vertonghen is liverpools top defensive target should Martin Skrtel decide he want to leave when the transfer window reopen's. Vertonghens valued at around £10mil at Ajax. Liverpool Value Skrtel at almost double that value, with several Italian and German teams showing major interest in the Slovakian.

And who identified him as a target? We have no managment in case it escaped your attention. Transfer targets will be selected by the new manager and new Director of Football onc they are appointed and not before.

Vertonghen has indicated that if he moves to England, it will be to Spurs. Only god know why.

24 May 2012 09:08:07
Who in their right mind would even consider selling aquilani for anything less than 10 mill? Absolute joke for Liverpool if anything less than that and an absolute bargain for whoever gets him below that figure.

This is the least of our worries right now.

Square tomato

Is he worth £10m...let's face it, he was a flop in the PL.

There was always something fishy of this deal from the start. To pay £20 mil for a player that was injured to replace alonso, there where a few deals under them owners that I thought where very fishy. Paying 20 mil for cpl players and the selling for less ie kean 6 months later. Other players alonso arbeloa Garcia even crouchy well and truly ripped off,

Wou would be so stupid to buy him for 10...

Lfc are paying him a fortune

You can only sell a player for as much as someone is willing to pay for them, its not the new owners fault that no one values him that highly.
Tom

Good players, but wanted to move into bigger clubs I guess.

Who would buy aquaman for£20 million, to replace alonso, oh yeah, that's right the man some idiots have st a web site to get back RAFA, who took £9million off us in his pay off, we need new young manager, and martinez fits all criteria! Give him a chance! The so called greatest sUpporters in the world. As if! Horrible no it all fans mow a days, evry1 deserves a chance, if it doesn't work, so be it, at least he won't be on £6 million a year like rafa the ex gaffa!

Benitez fault for buying him for £20mill before he got sacked. That's one of a dozen of reasons why he shouldn't be back as LFC manager.

Where has this belief that AA is a good player come from? He couldn't hack it in the prem and has not set the world on fire since going on loan to Italy (either time) he is an average player, worth a lot less than we paid for him.

He's a god-awful player who is lazy, inconsistent and we paid much, MUCH too much for him. FACT!

Then let's give him one last chance

He does not want to play for Liverpool. he has made that clear over and over again. We should just be looking at getting him off the wage bill and taking whatever we can get even if it's a loss. RED LENIN

We've been auctioning him for an age and there are no bidders? You are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Perhaps we could E-BAY him with no reserve :(:(:(
kidmillions

If nobody wants to pay for him than simply play him ,he have contract with LFC so if nobody wants him he will stay and I dont care what he wants ,he is paid big money so he must earn that.Nobody ask me do I love my job .Srebian Red

Ed's one of you said they will offer us 3M, do you think we will accept? I hope we do, so we can free up some wages for other players our new manager wants to bring in.

JanBorman {Ed002's Note - I expect the offer to be 3M euro and I expect Liverpool to listen. In the interim his agent will be tasked with finding other options.}

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression regarding Crouch and also Glen Johnson - we only signed Glen because Pompey owed us around 10mil for Crouchy and it was clear to the world of football that the club were about to go pop so we took Glen instead of losing money if and when went they went under.

This opening post annoys me. How many times have we had this one over.Aquilani is no good for us so we have to try to sell him for what we can get just to get him off the wage bill.Frankly he does not seem to care if he is playing football or not as long as he is getting his money.

Aquilani is a good player but he will never be a good player for liverpool

10m would be good business

Maybe you stopped watching aquliaini since his move to liverpool

An example of why benitez should never come back

Remember his salary...
Assume his is around 50K/week, a year ~ 2.5M...
If the contract still has 2 years left, selling him ~ 5M
2 years salary ~ 5M
They recoup 10M in 2 years...

ED 0022, you stated on another post that we are looking at another leftback, those that mean enrique is going to lose his place or be sold.
thanks LEP72

I think its because aurellio has gone CRAIG

Have you ever heard of bakup? {Ed002's Note - I would assume he is thinking of a replacement for Aurelio. I don't know what the plan is with Robinson then.}

Even if it weren't for Aurelio, I believe we needed another left back. Enrique has been consistent defensively, but offensively he's been a bit of a disappointment. Slow on the attack, takes far too many touches and hasn't put much quality crosses in.

I don't doubt his ability, but he needs to play with more confidence going forward. People say Johnson is a liability to us defensively, but without him, we always lacked going forward. Hopefully, Enrique can play a bit ike Johnson next season.

Johnson can switch to left back? Agger in emergency? Robinson can play in Cup games for experience and if he does well he's great cover as well. We need to direct any monies for players; to a Goascorer or two and midfield player.
kidmillions

Enrique needs some competition for his place. That would get the best out of him I think.

The club were looking at Pablo Armero at one point , he's a left Wing back however he would make good competition for Enrique , it was said Robinson was to go on loan , but things will change due to management issue I imagine

If Martinez takes over, don't be surprised to see a move for Figueroa (along with a couple of other Wigan players)

I'd go for Baines
However Robinson may have a chance to breakthrough

I cant remember the last time i saw anything from the eds that was of any realy value. {Ed002's Note - Obviously not someone who is going to sign up for my appreciation society at tinyurl.com/7fbgecd - I assume you are saying this because I don't know who nthe new manager is. At least I told you that there had only been a tentative approach for Benitez and and that as of Friday there was no approach for AVB. And did you not see value in my telling you that Dalglish would not be manager? And do you not see value in any explanations regarding transfers? You will find numerous lengthy answers from me - but perhaps you cannot be bothered reading them?}

Just thinking outloud here but how is it that chelsea are still making bids to but players when they dont have manager it baffles me. {Ed002's Note - The manager is only one person in the process. The have a Director of Football, they have scouts and they have advisors.}

AND an owner who seems to have a finger in every piece of action at the club

AVB as manager and Hulk being our 'superstar' signing, plus a few others.

Would be friggin awesome!

We can but only dream

Hulk turns green and wrecks the stadium
if he's subbed:(:(

Hulk is one of the most overated players around. Wouldn't pay more that £20mill for him - he just isn't that good!

Yeh because fsg are going to give us over 40mill to spend on one player, when kenny has just wasted 130. Get real reds

Not according to the guardian or the independent......

It'll be incredible if we sign him

Could you imagine Hulk and Suarez playing upfront together? It would be awesome!

I agree with a previous poster - not worth the money we would have to pay.

Not hulk so overrated

Hulk smash...wage bill.

I don't know if anyone else was listening to talk sport today or has posted this. They were speaking to Tony Evans - football editor of the times, scouser, Liverpool fan and someone who's generally ITK about the club.

Anyway, here is a summary of what he had to say:

He has some sort of source involved in the process of choosing our next manager. Originally this source said AVB was not under consideration and would not be interviewed. This has since changed, but their stance remains similar - he will be interviewed but they still aren't keen, in fact he's only being interviewed as a 'courtesy'. Not sure exactly what was meant by courtesy, probably that AVB has applied/put/had his name put forward for the role and it's only fair to speak to him or perhaps they want to do a thorough job and speak to all possible candidates.

I actually can't remember what he said about Van Gaal except that he's a no.

Rafa is also a no, although he thought he should never have been fired.

His opinion was the most likely candidates are (sadly) Martinez and Rodgers. He reckons Rodgers would take the job if it was offered. I thought pretty much the same thing when he ruled himself out, he was only ruling himself out of a job he didn't think he could get, why alienate Swansea fans for no reason.

So there you go, no nonsense, just passing on what someone with genuine contacts at the club shared earlier today in case anyone missed it.

Its hard not to be disappointed with those names. What has Martinez achieved apart from barely keeping team in the league playing alright football at times? It's also far too soon for Rodgers in my opinion.

I seen mention of Rijkaard on here, I like that. Links to Holland and Spain where reasonably priced talented players are often sourced. Obviously did alright at Barca, I was also watching highlights of his dutch team at euro 2000 the other day, good side he put together.

sorry, that was a long one - moooooo

We are on the up so:).I think these owners have a different vision than we do,4th place with these managers please its laughable.Hard times ahead folks.
Eam.

A pity he's been so publicly wrong on so many accounts recently...this is the man who said Kenny will NOT get the sack...but I'm sure he'll weave it to show he was somehow correct. The press are NOT ITK...these days anybody can phone up the media relations at a football club and say they are from whatever news/blog/etc and get the same information as the so-called 'big-boys'! I prefer Maccas info which is not press reliant.

That said...my previous press rant, lol...I also believe that the coupling that is most likely at LFC will be LvG as Sporting Director and Martinez as Coach as I just don't see LvG and AVB working together...it wouldn't last a year in my opinion...but hey, that's just opinion.

Tony Evans is changing his mind every minute. last week it was 100% that it was Martinez then it was AVB and now he is backing Rodgers. He knows has much as i do and thats bugger all!

FSG are going with martinez or rodgers as they dont want to spend money, they want managers who will work on a shoe string, I cant believe for one moment they seriously think these 2 are better managers then people like rafa, rijkaard even king kennyetc Martinez, rodgers have never won anything and they will continue not to do so!!

Ignore him he isn't ITK as u say he hasn't got a clue, regardless of being a Liverpool fan he is just a typical jurno who makes things up so people listen to him and sell papers. He is the same tony Evans that had a bet on talk sport 2 and a half yrs ago saying gerrard and Torres would both be sold to Madrid £50 mil the pair. Theirs only one tony in the times u should listen to and that's tiny barret who used to write for the echo.

I would give martinez or rodgers a chance, every great manager has to start somewhere. lets just hope it works out for the best and back our new manager.

It looks as though we will have no choice but to give martinez or rodgers a chance, I am trying to stay positive and hoping the owners are given better advise this time round than they have been so far, however I do feel a bit let down with the all the anticipation regarding the net being thrown far and wide to get the right man, when it seems obvious now that being able to manage on a budget of some sort has been the real motive all along. But as always from my point of view we need to get behind the next manager whoever he turns out to be, unlike some sets of fans out there at the mo who seem hell bent on causing mischief for the sake of it.
foginspector

When you say they've never won anything you actually show how narrow minded you are rodgers has won promotion to the premier league and martinez has kept easily the worst team in the prem in the league in successive seasons, with easily the worst resources in the league, another thing i'd like to point out about that is de matteo hadnt won anything but he now has the champions league and FA cup also LMA manager of the year alan pardew hadn't won much if anything and look at what a stroke of genius that was from the newcastle owner...

I dont believe for one minute that FSG would turn down Avb, Van Gaal and Capello, to give the job to a man like Rodgers without even interviewing him. This sounds like total rubbish.

To all those people calling out for change for changes sake and praising the virtues of youth and new methods, remember great new managers do not just fall from trees and new methods are not just the bastion of young managers.

Remember all those next up and coming managers, Burley, Coyle, Holloway, even McLeish, etc. All were hailed and all then failed to show they are ready. I don't care if Martinez, Rodgers, Lambert will one day become great managers, the fact is that in the here and now they are just like all those others.....potentially very good, but have proven how good that is!

And before you say anything about Shankly, that was a different era, more time was given to managers and competition wasn't as intense or as professional. Now success is demanded instantly. To Manage a big club, first you have prove you can challenge with a smaller club and budget, at least AVB has managed that. None of these young pretenders have came anywhere near challenging for anything yet. I'm not talking about winning the league here, but I am saying the these guys need to be able to build teams that the big boys take seriously.

Appointing any of these guys above the likes of Van Gaal or Benetiz (guys with proven experience and proven successs) means FSG are either penny pinching or they are been badly advised (dye in the wool Arsenal man David Dein advising Liverpool?...... mmmmmm). Let Martinez and Rodgers develop into proven challengers before we risk our clubs future on them.

Syd

A couple of things I would like to point out is that Rafael Benitez was the manager of relegation fighting team Extremadura and got them relegated. So did Jurgen Klopp at 1. FSV Mainz 05. Both managers got a chance at a big club and won their leagues respectively. So with that in mind give Martinez a chance Big Al N Wales

Firstly, I acknowledge that these two - Martinez and Rogers - may be promising young managers on the up, but neither have proven themselves yet and I think either would be far too big a gamble for us, given our rate of decline in recent years. And I know there are fans out there who may support their appointment, but really, I think with either of these we are setting our sights too low and will achieve nothing more than continued mediocrity. Yes, theyve done "ok" with their respective clubs, but with all due respect this is Swansea and Wigan we are talking about, NOT Liverpool.

We can kiss goodbye to any prospects of finishing top 4 with either. They wont be given massive bugets to bring in top, or even fairly decent, class players, they will be working in tight restricted confines budget wise. Now to be honest, if this were the case with the budget and they want to appoint someone longer term, then simply why in hell wasnt Kenny just given an extra year. Yes the results had been poor, very poor, but honestly, will either of these two improve on that? Are Martinez or Rogers better than Dalglish? Really? I honestly dont think so.

We are at such an important crossroads at the minute, the wrong decisions will basically finish any intentions of being contenders, we wil be nothing more than mediocre also-rans for years to come. All this while we sit idly by watching United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and even Tottenham get further away. And please, no predictable comments that we are not far away from these clubs - we are an absoloute gaping chasm away from these, as the points in the table shows. We need to get back to where we belong and relegation battling managers arent the ones to turn this around.

Giving martinez or rodgers the job is a massive risk, we need stability, they have never achieved anything as players and let much as managers, this is roy hodgeson repeated. The current plight we in we need someone proven!! If i had to choose between having faith in rikjaard, rafa, van gaal to ensure we succeed or martinez or rodgers well experience would win hands down!

You do not have to be a good player to be a good manager.

Tony Evans has never been in the know in regards to these new owners. He was left with serious egg on his face when he ran the front page scoop of how the deal was done and that Liverpool were being taken over by the Asian guy, just before the Americans stepped in.

He's always on Talk sport saying that we're a shambles and that the Americans appear clueless.

With friends and allies like him who needs enemies?

The man's a self promoting tosser who is in the know on nothing. His best lead is Tony Barret, nice enough fella, but another one who was is so out of the loop on all matters Liverpool nowadays that it's an embarassment.

All the Times provide now is reactionary commentary and guesswork in regards to Liverpool.

David

So tired of this "what has a he achieved" nonsense.

Try learning what the likes of Shankly and Paisley "achieved" before getting the Liverpool job, or what contemporary champion managers such as Klopp or Guardiola, or DiMatteo, or Conte "achieved" (as managers) before managing their most recent teams.

If you tired of this dont get involved this forum is for fans to express there sentiments whether they suit your thought processes or not! I would not even contemplate comparing guardiola, dimatteo to martinez & rodgers both as players and managers!

Has anybody thought about Steve nicol isn't he currently managing in America {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

Why (sadly) in front of martinez ? he is a good coach

24 May 2012 02:19:54
Heard a rumor that eriksen frm ajax handed in a transfer req. wonder if we should move for him?

If Van gaal join us then possible

We dont have a manager!! or a director of football, we will not be "moving" for anyone!

Ha ha ha...like he would move to Liverpool! Laughable

Hey ED
i'm out in Portugal on holidays with couple of friend's
and we down in the streets of Porto, people are screaming over here HULK and ALVARO PEREIRA are going to some where else, so me and the boys just asked one of them what are the talking about because he was the only one that could speak english lmaoo he said that HULK and PEREIRA are going to either CHELSEA or LIVERPOOL but it seems like CHELSEA are favorites to have hulk and pereira to go to inter or milan but i asked about liverpool and they said AVB must become LFC manager to sign these two players,

You say that there going to Chelsea or Liverpool and then say one of the is off to chelsea and the other off Milan or inter, you probably better posting this on Chelsea page mate as it really isn't a Liverpool rumour unless we appoint a certain manager.

Sounds total fabrication to me! Hulk has a huge buy out, which Liverpool can not match. Don't know why he would choose the Europa league anyway

When avb went to chelsea i believe he had to agree to sign any player from them so me thinks hulk and the other one not coming here

Where do people get the time right such rubbish.

24 May 2012 00:38:49
Hi Eds, I know we currently don't have a DoF or a manager, but do we still maintain any sort of interest in Keisuke Honda or is it actually dependent on wheter the manager is interested? I would love this guy at LFC, he is jus incredible. Cheers {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Recent enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo and Lazio nearly signed him in January. I suspect Lazio remains the likely destination but Liverpool could revive their interest.}

I really hope we revive our interest in him...world class player, better than kagawa if u ask me

Thanks for answering Ed's, i agree with the poster above, i would love us to renew interest, 8 million would have been a bargain and whoever decided to pass that up deserves a slap with a kipper. Unbelievable player and only 24/25, exactly the kind of player we are lookin for.

Carb

24 May 2012 00:25:47
hi eds any chance of getting afellay {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay. However, I think it likely that he will be available in the summer and Barcelona will listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold.}

24 May 2012 00:21:59
Avb in the running for manager role with a view of bringing hulk and moutinho to the club (fsg previously said they will spend what needs to be sent for 1 world class player) if everything goes as planned (which means Martinez will get his interview but it will take something special for fsg to change their mind about avb). I dont care if none of you believe me but I have a great source which has told me a few things which have been correct. He has only been once wrong which was alonso will stay at Liverpool. Keep up the good work eds

Mike b

Hulk = £35m+
if he is £35m dead on then maybe as FSG might think we spent that on Carroll and hulk is the real deal then maybe but no I don't think so, nothing positive comes from wishful thinking just unnecessary disappointment.

Well if the owners plan on spending on a world class player they certainly can omit the two you listed.

Firstly i am absolutely gutted that king kenny got sacked - i have been to almost every home and away game this season and despite the unacceptable league position, i can honestly say for the first time in a couple of decades that Liverpool were back on the right track - results were very up and down but the way we were playing regardless throughout the season showed that we are progressing - we are not far away at all...and next season regardless if any new players are brought in will prove this - king kenny should have been given at least the next season and i am absolutely sure then things would be evident.gutted he has gone. So far as replacements i am very shocked by some of the so called leading candidates whilst i honestly have huge respect and admiration for both Martinez and Brendan Rogers but to replace kenny before he has had a chance with any risky options such as these has suddenly cast huge doubts over FSG - I have been so pro FSG / Liverpool / Kenny - as the new liverpool, back to the old ways and so on.......but now i am very worried - kenny is the last link to the 'LIVERPOOL WAY' and the whole boot room room mentality a la shankley / paisly etc...i would never have said this a month ago but after reading John Barnes detailed comments, I honestly think that someone like him should be given the job (before u comment please read his comments in full).....he knows the liverpool way and he absolutely nailed all key problems in his detailed comments.......if not Barnsey- then consider Carragher - may seem like huge risk but that was the case when kenny became player manager - carragher is liverpool thru and thru and is a football encyclopedia (ask anyone in the biz)YNWA

I really doubt hulk wud be a option for us. Too expensive.

Hi, it's good to read such stuff. I would like to see AVB on the managerial bench. what's your source and are you 100% sure of!

Well I don't believe you . I don't no why some people find the need to blatantly lie about "sources". If its your opinion then fair enough, but making up sources is just sad.

But the newspapers are reporting those avb links have cooled down and the owners are not looking at him any more..among the available managers FSG are not interested too much in rafa & plenty others have already distanced themselves from the job so AVB remains a decent long term choice, so why the owners would discard him all of a sudden?or is it pure garbage from the media as they have no clue or knowledge of whats going on ?

Has anyone else seen a quote by fsg, Fenway, Warner or Henry where it says they will spend what it takes to buy 1 world class player, I haven't, just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

Hulk has a buy out clause from 100 mill (sky sports) and avb has said he doesnt wanna, gonna be martinez

I said before Kenny came in we'd be getting Rijkaard, he was interviewed but the yanks gave into fan pressure, it won't happen again, my sources in Holland and one from Turkey tell me he's nailed on for it this time, believe

The Sandman

No one was interviewed first time around.

BthekingB

I hope so

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here but FSG rejected Rikjaard out of hand LAST YEAR due to issues in his personal life/choices. It doesn't matter what the reason was.

McSnuggles

His agent has dismissed this allready and said Rijkard will remain where he is in the middle east I believe

I find it amazing that people can start off a post saying how they were wrong before. I much prefer the nonsense posts when it's along the lines of 'I was sharing a taxi with Messi' or 'Christiano Ronaldo came by on his pogo stick'. They are just more sufficient comedic posts as opposed to this utter tripe

We wont be getting rikjard

I know we currently don't have a DoF or a manager, but do we still maintain any sort of interest in Keisuke Honda or is it actually dependent on wheter the manager is interested? I would love this guy at LFC, he is jus incredible. Thanks

Hey Ed,
Just read a report that Martinez is the only manager to accept our approach? Please tell me what I have read is a load of bull because I personally think we need someone like Villas-Boas to rebuild the squad.
What do you think Ed?
Who do you think will get it and who would be your personal favourite?
-Cheers mate, really appreciate it.
IrishRed. {Ed001's Note - no one knows mate, the reports are simple guesswork right now. I literally have no idea who will get it, I would like to see Borrell get a chance though, as we are not going to get Bielsa.}

Who cares who Liverpool appoint anymore. Gone on too long FSG are saying nothing and the press are making tales up by the hour

Yeah like he rebuilt chelsea. you muppet

Seems as thought the EDS were right again now the paper's are backtracking and now AVB is out of the running as FSG feel he is not the right man!
