hi eds, do you think we will sign alonso this window, we all know that he wants to return as he said in his lfctv interview. cheers. rich. {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

He will leave RM when he is old and burnt out and RM have no use for him anymore and by that time i would hope we would have no use for him. Please stop living in the past people. This is why Liverpool fans are mocked regularly. Lets move on together.
Davey Liver

How many more times will we hear this rumour.

Have I told you that Belamy said that he would end up at Cardiff during his holiday in Malta? No one believed me. Now it's all gathering pace.

David Malta

Well Cardiff is where his family live after all.
Surprise ,surprise , he's going home after his holiday !!!!!!

Where did you say this? Show us where you said this? I searched you name and found nothing.

2 Posts under "David Malta". This one, and 1 July about Doni. {Ed002's Note - Try 23 Jun 2012 09:08:32}

It's up to you not to believe me. That's what he said during his holiday in Malta though I wish it wasn't true since he is one of our best attackers.

Hi Eds, now that some of our striker targets are now unavailable i.e. Soldado, Borini (if he was ever a target) do you think that the club might decide to push for de Jong? Otherwise he will be off somewhere else and unavailable soon too. It's just that we don't seem to be interested in many others.
Thanks!! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

hye Eds,
Just want to some info to lfc fans.
1-Spurs try to hijack deal is actually true but Gylfi make it cleae that he turn down Swansea to play for Rodgers at lfc. Our attack mid will be Gylfi n Jonjo next season.
2-Gerrard will be put back alongside Lucas in the center. Either stevie, hendo or C.adam will partner with Lucas. Backup signing for Lucas still under consideration. Spearo will go on loan, preferably new promoting club.
3-Lfc ready to discuss new contract for Skrtel but if offers arrived with 18m bid n above, then Skrtel will be sold. New contract will begin after confirmation there's no team that will bid more than 18m to get him.
4-Diego godin, dejan Lovren and Kjaer are scout recommendation is Skrtel leaves.
5-lfc still maintain interest in Krasic, matt phillips, n boudebouz for now for right winger.
6-For striker, borini, rondon, luuk de jong at the moment just paper talk. Rogers still did not express which kind of striker he wants. Expected another South American.

Thnx for de post Eds.
SecretRevealed'lfc

Why waste your time and ours by making up this rubbish
Some of this may turn out to be correct but you're not fooling anybody into thinking you've got any info, it's just posting for postings sake

Chris in Tamworth

Is that you Brendan?

Rondon was sharp last night at the Messi charity match, Hamsik also looked good. Suarez was full of tricks and goals as usual... both will do ok in PL as it absolutely tipped down through pretty much the whole game...

Thanks Brendan. Nice of you to come on the site!

Spurs 4/7 fav to sign sigurdsson

See I like what you did there, combining random rumors into one post.

My favorite part though is without doubt you knowing that Stevie will be moved alongside Lucas and then naming every other center midfield we got to partner Lucas as well.

Quite creative actually.

any chance of elia? i know its been answered before but there hasnt been much talk of him latley so im just wondering if anything has changed!

Thanks eds im addicted to this site except the doom and gloom so called fans seem to have more time on there hands than the real fans do!

Thanks

Evening chaps :) is quasmera on the move at all?? {Ed002's Note - I expect Quaresma will move to Benfica.}

He's so overrated

I might be confused but didnt he play for porto not benfica?? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

24 Jun 2012 18:12:52
eds, i've noticed on other teams pages of this site, there are videos embed for players either linked or signed, can we have some videos on this page?

thanks {Ed002's Note - They slow up the loading of the page and are generally put on the questions page.}

What about pictures an stats? {Ed002's Note - Large pictures would slow up the loading of teh page as well.}

24 Jun 2012 16:55:58
Hi Ed's sorry to keep repeating the same question but will Suaraz stay with us.I know we are looking at other strikers but are they been scouted to replace someone or play alongside the existing players? ie Suaraz and Carroll. (We have never had 3 good strikers could this be a first!) {Ed002's Note - The answer remains the same.}

Hey ed why do you seem so convinced suarez will go {Ed002's Note - There is no point in opening this up again.}

He's staying because there is no point selling a world class player when we're having a hard enough time attracting them. There's no way we're selling him...

He's on a fairly cheap wage for his class

We have never had 3 good strikers? Seriously? Are you only out of playschool?

"We have never had 3 good strikers? "
he must be referring to few years ago when ex torres, michael, fowler were them main threat and not since lfc creation. Ill burn SB flag if suarez is sold . I better kick out standard bank than suarez. We are football fan and not ACCA followers.

Arvin

When I said 3 good strikers I mean't at the same time in one season

Question for the eds or macca

What are lfc's chances of James Rodriguez or is it all just scouse pie in the sky?

Siggle {Ed022's Note - No chance at all.}

24 Jun 2012 16:38:05
I am hearing from my sources that liverpool will only except 20 mill plus adam Johnson for skrtel.

I don't think That Man City are that desperate for Skirtle, and they certainly won't be ripped off with that kind of deal. They are not called Liverpool after all.

No chance, havent you been listening to skrtel this week

Wont that be something making a good deal for a change

24 Jun 2012 16:37:59
Hi eds do you feel we will be signing rondon ? And if so do u advise us to put a cheeky bet on while we can still get good odds. Cheers Weymouth red {Ed022's Note - I personally have no reason to believe Rondon will sign. All I have been able to gather is that Malaga may be willing to sell at the right price, but they do not need to at all (as they are slightly rich). If Rondon becomes available then you can expect interest from half of Europe, as from what I've seen he looks a pretty nifty player.}

Do you believe were going to sign anyone decent because you are very negative ed .Tommy irish red. {Ed022's Note - I expect the signing of Sigurdsson. I believe that Liverpool, Fenerbahce and Lazio are currently favourites for Krasic's signature, as well as a possibility of Tello (although it's early days). I believe that a striker will be bought, but I'm unsure of who is favourite to join Liverpool in that position. My personal choice would be Matius Suarez, although that seems unlikely due to other interest across Europe. I don't mean to seem negative mate, but it's just a little frustrating answering the same questions 50,000 times per day as you can imagine.}

24 Jun 2012 12:46:47
ed do you think benatia of udinese would be a realistic replacement if skrtel leaves and any idea what sort of money hed cost? cheers ed! {Ed022's Note - I only know of interest from Manchester United from the Premier League mate.}

24 Jun 2012 16:26:43
Do people realise that the world class players we wan't to sign were created by other clubs. I bet if we didn't alrealdy have suso or sterling we would be fighting to sign then for 20-30m in a few years. We are lfc we create world class players not buy all the time.

Lil red

I wish we created world class players all the time. Name a single one apart from Gerrard?

KennyRed

Carragher

Jordan ibe is also very good

Carragher world class? Like Lothar Matthaus or Puyol are world class? We signed Jordan Ibe from Wycombe (I think), that's not creating a world class player. Not that you can call a 16 year old world class, so that doesn't even prove anything, apart from no one can think of any world class players we actually do create.

KennyRed

The original poster believes world class players want to come to us, which is delusional to say the least.

Yeah we create them and then when they are ready to step up to first team, we loan them out, forget about them and then release them for next to nothing. E.g. Recently nemeth, pacheco, ince, to name a few who at 16 or 17 looked to be ready for a few chances at first team. Wrecks my head. Jayo. P.s. Please dont do the same to sterling, altho i feel it will to suso.

All those players you just named are not world class, so what's your point?

Name me a single youth player we have released who has gone on to be 'world class'.

I'm pretty sure that is the plan.

24 Jun 2012 16:01:26
HI edds, was I the only impressed by Jamie Carragher's analysis of the game on ITV yesterday? looks like a promising manager if he continues to get his qualifications and with Sami Hypia's career blossoming who's to say we wont see our beloved CB partnership at Liverpool again... I can only dream. On another note, how much do you think Rondon will cost and do you think he may want to come to Liverpool, are any other clubs interested in him? Thanks
YoungRedJ {Ed029's Note - I think Rondon will cost 15-20 million, if Malaga sign strikers this summer he could be forced onto the bench and could come to Liverpool to avoid that, He's been good this year, so as usual a few teams are sniffing around

24 Jun 2012 16:04:54
just wondering would all the fans be happy if we got sig,krasic,rondon and a couple of unknown players i feel that would be quite a Successful summer what are your thoughts
cheers

24 Jun 2012 16:03:27
really excited about next season i watched the messi all stars charity game yesterday and suarez out shon every player on the pitch and made falcoa and cavani who was on his team look average and it looks like hes been working on his killer finnish scoring a hatrick of spectacular goals one being a messi esk chip and another being a run that went threw 3 players nut meging the last to score a screamer and messi tried it to no avale honestly out shon some proper starts and is also leading goal scorer in the world cup qualifiers for his country he will be amazing next year you mark my words 30+ goals season and thats before carrols contribution who looks like hes back to new castle form for england an will get us 15+ goals next season and im saving the best till last gerrard being the top man for england and probably of the tournament at his all time form i honestly am excited. now to get on with my transfer gossip, whilst watching the charity game last night james Rodriguez came on scored obviously and the pundit said liverpool are interested an have tabled a bid but on the downside so have man u and another player came onto score solamon rondon and again the pundits said liverpool are interested but this time sujested no other team other then that he was class for malaga last season but they want to buy bentner and berbatov and he wont be happy on the bench... the conclusion to this rant is that good things for next season without any signings at all but if the signings we are interested in do sign we have a tittle tipping team for sure and home we can buy without selling skertal we had a solid defence last season but he wasnt out best defender agger is our best by a mile just hope he can stay injury free, an he if skertal does go he can be replaced adamlfc

I agree with you. people talk about his lack of finishing and although he is not the greatest i think people really underestimate him there. with a little more luck last year he could have had between 10 and 15 more goals for the club. i am excited for next year.

Just watched this his goal is awsome, his finishing is also really good he would have been top goalscorer if the goals were 2 inches bigger. he just loves that post

Liverpool are not even close to a title winning team..get real mate

I wouldn't get too carried away. liverpool will play different to england. as well suarez will finish better in a charity match where there isn't any pressure to score.
derryred

"as well suarez will finish better in a charity match where there isn't any pressure to score. " You are a genius. Why the selected suarez? they could have invited Angela or Arnold to replace Suarez. Anybody would have scored. Right

Nice to see you get behind your team derryred an the post above. if suarez put his goals away last year we would have been tittle tipping anyway and okay so go an watch the game on youtube an see how well messi an cavani, hamsik, falcoa, drogba, lavezi played "presure free" every one was pressure free yet suarez out shon who according to glory hunter liverpool fans are all better then suarez. and so what your saying is that gerrard will play s**t for us? like he never does... mug try watching liverpool play then comment. why are you looking for a turd in a snow storm you are not a real liverpool fan your a glory hunter who wants us to buy every top player in Europe just like man city you need to get real "mate" never going to happen untill we get an oil shake owner. you would be amazed what a good manager an a bit of support will do for a team so keep your negative comments to your chelsea fan page glory hunters

Juventus are reportedly lining up a €28million bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez - and are prepared to offer Milos Krasic as part of the deal
any true in that?
cheers

We paid over £20 million for Louis in the 1st place so £28 million is a non starter as far as I'm concerned.i wouldn't want Louis to leave at all but if he goes it has to be for much more than that offer.

To be honest we sold Torres for 50 Suarez has the potential to be better so it's going to cost a lot for any team to go in for him final

I would hate to lose Suarez, in my opinion it would definitely be a backward step, however the club will do what they do and sometimes you need to take a step backwards to move two forward.

The aforementioned said, taking Krasic as a "part" deal wouldn't appease me in any shape or form, yes the bloke can play no argument, but he simply doesn't perform regularly enough for me (I won't even mention his diving antics) ...he would be another Stewart Downing, plays well in one game and goes missing for the next four or five ...no thanks!

Why sell Suarez now, when we can get 50£ mill after next season - is this good business?

No! ahahah unlucky maitee

Hey everyone/Eds, hope you're well today!

Just to drop by and share this video of Suarez playing for the all star football team, anyone seen it? I (think) it was only a friendly but he is still a great start that Liverpool need to work hard to keep hold of. If he continues the way he is and possibly grows as a player, he really will be one of the best, (not that he's far off it now anyway).

Looking forward to the Summer signings and next season!

Thanks for all the work Eds & Macca
Ell.

Video I was referring to above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m20iV1jeb3k {Ed029's Note - Suarez played great and his second goal was brilliant, to be fair the defenders picked for the match weren't exactly world class though

There really wasn't much of any defending in the match at all by anyone. For me, it was fun to watch but I wouldn't take much from it either way.

RDL

Why couldnt cavani score even tho he tryed his hardest yeh the defence was half hearted but like i said where was cavanis goal adamlfc

Hi eds, BBC are saying Cardiff City are preparing a bid to re-sign Bellamy off us. Do you reckon Liverpool will let him go? {Ed029's Note - If Bellamy wants to leave to join his hometown club I don't think we could stop him

24 Jun 2012 11:24:04
Ed do u know if pedro would b available as he is not really a 1st team player at barca also how much would he cost.
Ynwa
DW {Ed001's Note - seriously? You might want to actually take some time to find out that he has suffered injuries last season. When fit he plays.}

From what pep says about pedro in the media, pep loves the guy.

Kaizer

No messi villa and sanchez are barca 1st choice front three, pedro clearly isnt, and please dont do the whole villa will be sold, he may be but when fit those three play

Agree with the un-named poster, pedro hardly started even when fit last season, that's common knowledge. Not to say we have any chance of signing him.

Rodgers will sign siggurddson, rondon or sturridge, krasic or susaeta, wanyama and an unamed marquee signing.

Unamed scout

Suareta, Rondon, Sigurdsson and Wanyama would be a cracking summer.

Can't see a marquee signing on top of that, as it'd be close to 50 mil, unless Suarez goes.

Papa G

I've been hearing that we've lost out on sigurdsson to tottenham, I hope I'm wrong.

24 Jun 2012 15:11:36
Carroll is only 23. He will come good. You can see he is playing with more confidence, and he has overcome the pressures of his price tag. He will become even better than the likes of ibrahimovic. We need to keep a tight hold of him.

Red Lee

"even better than the likes of ibrahimovic" just lol he will be at best a Kevin Davies

Uh not hating on Carroll but when ibra was kid at Ajax he was miles better than Andy is now pulling off goals any world class player could dream of and having the dribbling of a lesser messi considering how tall he is haha Carroll and ibra are different but I think Carroll will turn out to be a beast targetman/poacher if he works hard.
Et

Don't get silly here, Ibrahimovic is one of the worlds best strikers and has been for the past 5-7 years... Carroll might one day lead the line for England and score more than 20 goals in a season but don't get silly, just look at Ibrahimovic's record... world class - something Carroll isn't and never will be.
YNWA

He will never b as gd as zlatan

Please dont say Carrol will be better then Imbrahimovic. Imbra's Technique and Dribbling is amazing while Carrol strugles to balance himself. Completely diffrent types of players.

Have you watched Ibrahimovic play lad? he has the best technique for a tall fella that I have ever seen, Carroll is not even close to Ibrahimovic. Carroll is 23 - he should already be good, players have potential when they are 18, they are supposed to of come good by the time they are 23.... your desire for Carroll to be good is clouding the reality, he can be decent but he will not be world class, he is an 'old fashioned' centre forward - he does not have the skill, technique, touch, etc etc of an Ibramhimovic so will never be that good

SMc

Firstly target men peak later on in there career, 26ish. Think llorente is about that. And carrol will never be as good as Zlatan but maybe the likes of huntelaar and Gomez.

Hi eds or anyone that can help, I was reading some stuff on Wiki the other day and I was curious about what I found. I was looking up the wealthiest clubs/owners and it states that LFC owners are the second wealthiest in the EPL after Mansour...I am aware that this could all be tied up in assets with the Red Sox, but due to this, how comes everyone seems to think we have a limited budget? Surely the owners would spend for the right player? I am aware I'm prob just being incredibly thick, but can anyone clear this up? Are the owners just choosing to not spend much on LFC or despite their assets do they not have much spare?

Super {Ed029's Note - I think the reason we have a limited budget is the owners are worried their money will get wasted after what happened last summer

I'm not entirely sure what numbers you were looking at, but generically FSG is a consortium of many, many investors. I suppose if you were to add that all up, it would make a pretty big number, but there's a fair amount of difference in my mind of say 20 people having a net worth of X versus 1 person having the same. My opinion, anyway.

So ed if they decided that a player was brilliant they could pay big money? {Ed022's Note - There is no set budget at all.}

Unfortunately that's the chance you take
when you buy a MASSIVE football club,
if you want to compete with the BIG BOYS somewhere along the line you've
got to invest and then invest again until
your competing........do you think
ABRAMOVICH OR MANSOUR sit there
worrying whether there money is getting
wasted,they have taken more hits than
anyone on players that's the price on the
ticket when they bought the club.......

auntie annie.....

24 Jun 2012 10:46:42
Hi Eds, reading earlier posts and Ed002 you said that there is no chance in Dede, so could you tell me is there a specific reason why there is no chance as oppose to very little?

Secondly, one of the Eds said that selling Skrtel now would suit the FSG model, so does this mean that FSG will have a fairly big say on whether or not Skrtel can leave, given other factors such as finding a suitable replacement.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - He is not a player Caniggia has been looking to. Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Benfica and Roma have shown an interest in Dede over the past couple of years but AC Milan, Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich retain a serious interest in the player. Anzhi may look to make a bid in the summer but would prefer to wait until the end of the season in December.

Obviously the Liverpool board have a say an transfers. They will obviously not be making decisions from a footballing perspective.}

Why so much hype about this sig to spurs rumour?

1. Since when was the daily mail a credible source?
2. Spurs haven't got a manager.
3. He only turned down swansea since BR left. If wasn't going to happen why wouldn't he complete a move back to swansea?

Gh*Lfc

Spurs might not have a manager, but that didn't stop Chelsea from signing players did it? {Ed029's Note - Chelsea had RDM in charge as caretaker manager, King Kenny signed Suarez as caretaker manager

Yes. As we all know, Sigurdsson is a volunteer footballer who plays for free. The idea of getting paid a large salary disgusts him.

24 Jun 2012 14:32:55
I have posted here a couple of times about the possible sale of luis Suarez. Once again last night he showed why he is not just another "transient employee" but is a total one off talent who is irreplaceable. I for one will be inconsolable (sad I know) if he goes, however if the reported €18mil + krasic offer is what juve think they can get him for then my worries are releaved!
It concernes me tho that people don't pay attention to the real danger of Suarez being taken and are instead strung along by bulls**t about managerless spurs trying to sign gylfi from under our noses! Gylfi will sign for Liverpool on or soon after 1st July simple as!
Skrtel for 20mil for me is superb for us providing either vertongen or llovren is his replacement leaving some cash for whatever else brodgeson has planned!

Benzo

Got to agree with you if we was to accept 18 million and krasic i would feel like we had been well and truly done over im keeping my fingers crossed that saurez stays im not overly confident he will be a lfc player next year hope im wrong vertognen wont be coming but 20 million for skrtel would be good money i reckon we could get a decent replacement for 10 and put the rest to a winger or forward
giblet

All players are replaceable. I want him gone for embarrassing the club. No matter what a great player he is, No matter what his abilities are, he is replaceable. We have gotten rid of better players then him. So have dozens of teams.

Suarez wont go to scandal central hes happy plus he has a contract in place so id say itl be near 3 mill to land him and krasic only worth 6

24 Jun 2012 14:28:58
wish people would stop speaking about sigurdsson going to spurs.. sort it out.. listen he's pratically an lfc player already.. stop tlking about it and await confrmation, the fella's on holiday let him enjoy it.. end of the day spurs are signing nobody until the management position is filled which will probably be in a weeks time, after the sigurdsson deal is completed with lfc

Hear hear

24 Jun 2012 14:47:54
EDs Since Spurs have got Sigurdsson do you think the Elm would be considered?
{Ed029's Note - Spurs have not got Sigurdsson!

Your an person mate he's just bought an apartment in Liverpool unless he's going to travel 5 hours everyday to Tottenham then I doubt he's joining spurs and will join Liverpool this week.

saamYOO

Oh lord

What on gods earth are you talking about
you fool

Only way he would end up at spurs is if theres no offer from liverpool

I think you need to talk to frank mate

24 Jun 2012 14:39:24
I would ask 25mill for Skrtel and I would go and buy a player who I said we should have bought 2 years ago-James Tomkins,a very good footballing CH who reads the game very well and who is a very good all round player

alan50 {Ed029's Note - I'd prefer Lovren or even Shawcross to Tomkins

Verthongen for 12mil if skertal leaves ready made replacement

Let's hope we've learned our lesson and if we are going to sell a starting xi player we do 2 things - know who the best replacement is and secondly get the price agreed to buy the replacement before we publically announce selling skrtel

Tomkins!! R u right in the head, he's a championship player at best, omg!

Noo to Tomkins, not LFC standard. Shawcross is awful lol

24 Jun 2012 14:26:25
I can't believe some LFC fans would take £20 million for Skrtel!
Thiago Silva who is the same age was subject of a bid of £37 million! Is Thiago Silva twice the player Skrtel is? for me hes not even close to Skrtel!
red rrab

..Yeah, Thiago Silva is better

Thiago silva 5 times the player skrtel is, if we got 15 million for skrtel i would take it very average centre half....

Im lfc fan but are u f***in with me thiago silva is the centre back in the world he is more than twice the player srktel hes quicker, a better tackler, reads the game better, positioning is excellent, technically i cud go on but he is better than stktel at everything, stktel is a good cb we found value in him but he is easily replaceable and not a 20m player mancini just wants a pl established cb who cud be available we cud easily replace him with dejan lovrrn 7-10m
who is very talented and has the potential to be much better than srktel

The simple answer is 'yes' - Thiago Silva is twice the player (at the very least) Skrtel is, he does everything better and is one of the best centre backs in the world. Skrtel was good and consistent last season but do not be fooled, he plays he best when paired with Agger... in fact every centre back at the club plays his best when paired with Agger. Skrtel we can afford to lose (as has been mentioned lovren, vertonghen, etc etc) there are options to replace him. Agger we have to keep - if he hadn't had so many injury problems he would be rated as one of if not the best centre back in Europe.

This is a great post too many negative vibes about without justification.

All you doommongers chill out, fsg need us competing so they will not let us fall behind, the chance is there to catch spurs and arsenal now and they know it! We have plenty of money, you only need to look at the list of richest sportsmen to see where lebron James is to understand our financial position. Gylfi is on holiday, why should he rush his transfer to us through when he is wanted?. He is def signing for us and I also expect a 15-20m striker, 10-15m rw and two squad players which will release spearing and shelvey to go on loan. Things are looking up, skyrtel will stay also! Keep up the great work eds I don't know how you put up with some of the stupid questions on here! Steve.

Steve how old do you think Spearing is? he wont be going on loan, people think he is a lot younger than he is because of the few games he has played, the fact is he has been unable to break into the first team when others are fit. I think the lad could have a good career in the game but he needs to move.

Its just money to these Yonks.
They've made over 20m PROFIT so far from wage reductions and player sales.

Not remotely interested in competing.
We're just a "brand" to these people.
Make some money, sell some assets, build up the debts or sell it to the next shyster. {Ed002's Note - You clearly have zero understanding of teh club's finances. Since the purchased the club there has been more than £100M in losses that they have picked up.}

soldado has signed an extension till 2017. so i guess we can move on from him?

Kaizer {Ed029's Note - Yes! Rondon is now looking like our 1st choice target

Would there be work permit issues with Rondon, him being Venezulan and all that? Singred {Ed029's Note - That's a good question im not to sure about that

24 Jun 2012 13:55:04
A £20M offer for Skrtel would have to be considered, but i wouldn't really fancy selling him to Man City, i would rather sell him abroad if we are going to cash in!
Thoughts?

An Dun Red

Agreed we could probbly get more money from anzhi anyway.

lil red

No one in europe will pay 20million for him and, excep if he does move to the likes of Anzhi, his style of defending would not go down well in other european leagues. To be honest i think the only way we will get a good price for him is if we sell to City.

Craig Bellamy to Cardiff. Any truth in this?

{Ed029's Note - I'm not sure whether it's true but if it is I'm glad I'm not in Bellamys shoes, home club or boyhood favourites?

24 Jun 2012 11:51:53
well eds any new news to report us today ? do you see suso playin next season the lad is quality and sterling too and are we looking at any players in the german league (who) thanks ed

clarkey boy 12 {Ed029's Note - I think Suso could play in the Europa league next season as well as Sterling, I've watched them both a few times on LFCTV and they look special, not sure about the bundesliga as players like Reus and Kagawa who were targets are being signed, Muller has been mentioned a few times but I doubt he'll come

24 Jun 2012 13:35:34
why is skertal saying liverpool fc must match his ambitions ?
he was only a half decent player for us last season if he is off then good luck we dont need players thinking they are to good he is one of the worst passers of a ball iv seen he needs too get his head down and earn his money,bring in youth players .

Did anyone see skrtel's pass v blackburn for maxi's goal which released bellamy?

Would love to see:
Gylfi - 8m
Boudabouz - 10m
Rondon - 12m
Howdes - 15/18m
Sturridge or walcott - 12m

The obvious but very unlikey:
G.rameirez - 20m
M.suarez - 17m
A.johnson -18m
Munian-25m
Schurlle - 17m

Any of these players would improve our squad, would like to see our youth given a chance to!

Outs:
Skrtel - 18m
Aqua - 3m
Maxi - 3m
Kuyt -1m
Adam - 5m
Downing - 10m
Spearing - 5m

cheers!

It seems its the same old Liverpool when it comes to transfers, different manager same old story, it seems very realistic we will miss out on gylfi because another team will offer him a better reason to join (money), this is why we keep finishing where we do and we will continue to do so because we let our top targets slip away because we 'wont be held to ransom over wages', the ethic of you either want to play for the badge or you can jog on in the modem game is ridiculous,

so we can carry on being a mediocre team finishing outside the top 7 every year whilst the other clubs give players what they want, but hey we'll keep the heart of our club by only signing players who will in this day and age play for poor wages because they want to play for Liverpool football club, I love my team more than anything in the world but you quite simply have to give footballers what they want or they will go to play for someone else, simple as, and for the last 3 years everyone else is doing better than us !!

Sorry but plain simply your an person for believing the crap the papers come up with and then crying about it.

Let's see...player has already agreed personal terms with club (we are not offering poor wages, in fact we are one of world's top 10 richest club ranked by Forbes) but suddenly head turned because another club offer more wages...should we sign him? Answer that question yourself, mr nameless OP Singred

Have you actually been living in 2012, have you no idea who club 12 is in the spl and how they came about. Go and support city or chelsea, you sound about 10 so loads of time for you to love them.

24 Jun 2012 13:02:04
Hi eds, do liverpool have any real interest in milos krasic? What is your view on the player, i think his finishing is far too poor. {Ed029's Note - His finishing is poor as well as his acting abilities or diving but Liverpool have shown real interest and I expect him to sign

Ed029 if we sign Krasic do you think BR will help sort him out,tell him to cut out the diving and mold him into a player of Lpool quality? {Ed029's Note -I'd like to say he could judging by the fact Sinclair didn't dive as much as he had in the past last year

He sounds awful, wasted money it seems

Ed what do you mean his acting and diving are poor you lost me there. thankyou
hibsylfc {Ed022's Note - As in, he constantly pretends to be injured, and dives around the place like a swimmer. www.player-profiles.co.uk - the profile is there.}

Thank you Ed029 i hope your right.Nothing more i hate than a diver be it a Lpool player or any other team.So what % are we likely to sign him?...Thank's again Ed. {Ed022's Note - www.player-profiles.co.uk - look at the profile on Krasic.}

24 Jun 2012 13:07:29
If we do get rid of Skrtel for 25m then do you think trying for Shawcross will be a good idea? He'll cost around 10m I think and he's young and English and has been Stoke's best player for the past 2 seasons.

BthekingB {Ed029's Note - He was interested a few seasons ago and I think if we were going to sign him it would have been then, could still come in the future

Why do people still ask the same questions regarding certain players just scroll down before posting thanks ynwa

He looks good because he plays in a team of giants who very often sit with 2 banks of 4 defensively meaning his duties as a defender are not especially vigorous i.e. head the ball, hoof it, crunch a skillful player. In a good football playng team I would expect his defensive capabilities to be severly lacking. If we sell Skrtel I would prefer a more composed, classy defender inthe Agger mould as opposed to a carthorse like Shawcross.

Hello to all Eds
I have a question to all Eds
I know that we have had a look at Iker Muniain in the past but recently there has been no news about him,i would just like to hear all views from all Eds regarding his transfer status, Thank you all

SDM {Ed029's Note - I think His large price tag has put a few teams off including us

24 Jun 2012 12:57:05
Hi Eds,

I'm a i watch La Liga on a regular basis,but this boy,
José Salomon Rondon is going to be world class in in the next 2/3 years.
He's quick,strong,good in the air and most importantly a decent finisher,i'd say he's better than L.De Jong and F.Borini and is only 1 year older.
I'd pay £15M if rejected then pay the £20M asking price.
Also i can't see Andy being a starter next season if we get this boy!
Finger crossed!

Hey Eds, genuinely mean it when I say what a great site this is. I remember when it was just football rumours in general for all clubs on one page so congratulations on how much it has grown!

1st point, oh and it's something that really annoys me is the way people go on about how we have missed our targets! How do you know the likes of De Jong, Giroud, Podolski, Soldado were 100% targets for Liverpool? Yes we may have scouted them but it doesn't mean we didn't match the bids or anything. I wish people would stop being so negative when a player goes elsewhere unless it's clear we have bid for a player but then he choses elsewhere, and even then if he doesn't want to come to such an illustrious club then I don't want him. I remember a few years ago Rafa wanted to sign Lucas Neil but he pulled out when all Neil wanted to know when they met was how much he would get paid. I don't want players like that! So people stop being so negative.

Secondly i'd just like to say who I would like to see playing for us next year. I don't think the goalkeepers or defence need changing. Maybe let Doni go as his wages are reportedly high. I'd like to see the likes of Kelly and Robinson involved a lot aswell as Coates. Maybe even wisdom getting an appearance in the league cup.

Midfield is decent, spearing I don't rate at all and has to go. Adam I'm not a fan of either and I never have rated Stewart downing. I'd go with a 3 of Lucas Gerrard and Aquilani (if he stays) or Sigurdsson (if he signs).

I think a major necessity for us is pace out wide. I love the way Bellamy runs at the defence and scares them, not too much after his injury but before, especially at home to Man City in the League Cup semis. I'd like to see Sterling given more of a chance to do this.

I'd like us to bring in Borini upfront as the kid looks like a proper goalscorer, something we desperately lack.

So I'd bring in Borini, Sigurdsson and another winger whilst promoting the likes of Robinson, Sterling, Morgan, Suso, Wisdom and Coady. Where have the days of throwing 17/18 year olds in and giving them a chance gone?

Thoughts please eds?
{Ed029's Note - Krasic is a winger we have been looking at

In my opinion podolski and giourd are average players,(podolski at club level).

Exactly and yet people make out like they are world class and we had them about to sign a contract and let them go.

People just going on how good they were for them on Fifa or Football manager.

24 Jun 2012 12:54:16
hi, eds.
people are putting skrtel on some kind of pedestal. he had a few good games, and scored a few goals, in poor season amongst a team were no one played well. so if liverpool can get £20m for just above average defender, and get a few signing for that money or give the like of kelly ago and use the money for a class striker/winger then it will be worth it

We should not be thinking we have to sell our best players in order to buy. If the owners seriously want to take the club to another level then funds will be available to add quality to the squad we already have. Yes, if they think some of the players we already have are not up to standard we will sell, and that money will also be available for additions to the squad.
As for posts saying skrtel has only had one good season. That may be true, but he will only get better. That is why top clubs like man city want him.

Red Lee

I think Skrtel did not only have one good season because under Rafa Skrtel performed very well

24 Jun 2012 12:53:30
I think us Liverpool fans will be pleasantly surprised this season. We have a good quality team ATM I think Carroll will improve a lot this season and so will Henderson and we will get Lucas back. I think with sig and two big money signings (one in the wings) we can make a big push for champions league football. Ynwa {Ed029's Note - I can see at least a top 6 finish, I think Spurs will fall this season and we could take advantage and Move a place or two up the table, I think Carroll will be key this season and a good winger should assist him

We are easily a top 3 team this year

Finally sensible post sensible ed reply love it, how do u think newcastle will do in comparison to us? im unsure if they will do as well as last time but they have proven quality in their team {Ed029's Note - I think that all depends on who leaves, if big offers come in for Ba and Co then they will be hard to keep

24 Jun 2012 12:38:20
hey eds, seeing as we have sold kuyt do you expect to buy 2 strikers, one to replace kuyt and the other an extra striker we were going to buy anyway?
do you have any idea on what positions we are looking to fill?

thanks :) {Ed029's Note - I expect Krasic to come as we need a good winger and there is quite a chance of us getting Rondon

Ed029 why do you think krasic will come? you seem to believe that he is very likely to sign. Have lfc had scouts watching him? have we met with his representives? {Ed029's Note - Liverpool, Galatasaray and Lazio are leading the pack to sign him, Lazio don't have the funds and I don't think Galatasaray are a likely destination, so Liverpool it seems are the most likely, you can read up on who's chasing him on the player profiles page

24 Jun 2012 12:31:57
hi guys. sorry about me last post last night. it was late and posted off me mobile. i was basically saying that why are we worrying about signing well known players that will think their bigger than lfc plus wont move about much and want the ball passed to their feet when we can be patient, wait to see who BR wants where he'll probably find an unknown player who will put heart and soul into this club to prove his worth! thats all. but that dont mean i dont want big stars either, who wouldnt!
eds, what are the chances of actually grabbing a real star? we seem to hold on too long to finalize deals.

jim {Ed029's Note - I'd say Rondon and Krasic are as big as we're going to get this summer and I expect BR to sign some relatively unknown players.

24 Jun 2012 12:28:00
someone below talks of having a 'best Ed' competition.
But what does 'best' mean - different things to different people.
I urge you all,before voting, to decide what you want from your Ed of choice.

Do you want to be informed or maybe insulted.Possibly ridiculed or even patronised. You see there are so many ways the Eds can behave towards us and each has its own merits. Thing long, think hard and then abstain - or else the Eds are gonna get ya

Puzzled {Ed029's Note - Can I use this for my best Ed campaign speech?

24 Jun 2012 11:21:41
Hi eds, is sigurdsson of any interest to spurs.. sounds like they are on the verge of snatching him off us {Ed029's Note - Maybe if they had a manager

Haha! Ed, makes sense though I can't see many teams signing a player without a manager.

Young Red

...What have you been reading?

24 Jun 2012 11:44:28
Hi Ed, just wondering about the availability of Marco Reus, looks like a very good young player, cheers Ed. {Ed029's Note - He's signed for Borussia Dortmund

24 Jun 2012 11:39:19
i think that if we were offered 20 million for skrtel we should take it and run ! hes a good player yes, but he has had one good season and 3 shakey seasons ! that 20 million can buy a top class centre half and a top class winger, Simon Kjaer would be a great signing, and i would love to see liverpool bidding for Nicolas Gaitan, yes thats probably asking for too much but these are the signings we need to get back to were we belong ! thanks eds!!

Not sure really which football team you watch tbh. You must be one of those fans who watches big games and sees big name players and just starts plucking them out the hat. Martin Skrtel was immense the season that has just passed, and was also our player of the season the season before that. Granted his first season was shaky, but hes a world class player. If we want to challenge for higher up places in the league we need to maintain our few top quality players, not swap them for younger versions where they will take a couple of years to fully develop

Why is everyone after Kjaer? He is rather hopeless in anything but a Denmark shirt, and even then he makes some rather glaring errors. I think all 3 goals against Portugal were something to do with his poor positioning.

TSP

Generally players do develop so it's only natural that he would good better as his career progresses.

And why would you sell a proven, world class centre half just to buy another?

You must be deluded if you think selling Skrtel is a good idea.

£20 million will buy a top calss centre back AND a top class winger! Not in the real world mate. Add another £10 million and you might get two good signings.

But his 1 good season as been probably od world class level, 1 season shows his progression is going in the right direction and to play at the level he has last season and let him go for any fee would be poor busniess unless you replace him with world class that would probably cost more the £20mil and time would be needed for the new player to fit in. Not good football sense either really.

24 Jun 2012 11:37:10
It was great to see Xabi bag two goals.

But I must be honest France were just crap.

That said, I am sick and bored of Spanish Tiki Taka football, its like watching Barca (a team that just irks me).

Germany for me, (my absolute fave, but then I am German, so very biased), play the most exciting football, young and dynamic.

Think it could be a Germany vs Portugal final. {Ed029's Note - I think it will be a Germany vs Spain final with the Germans winning

Portugal Vs Germany final.

Got to get past England or Italy first

ENGLAND WILL WIN!!

How can a Liverpool fan be bored with pass and move football such as the Spanish have perfected?

England vs portugal

No way will the germans win ! spains team is to strong, come on Espana !!

24 Jun 2012 11:35:08
Joseph Musker
#LFC scouted James Rodriguez & his Porto team mate Fernando Reges so our scouts may well have recommended him(to Rodgers). He'd be an excellent signing.

Uncovering a player with a price tag of £30m is not scouting !!
Scouting is when you pluck the type of players for next to nothing

24 Jun 2012 11:33:16
Why am I having this feeling that if England fail at the Euros, it means Liverpool have failed, and if they succeed, Liverpool succeed? Anyways, just wishing England all the best at the tournament. Hope they come back with the cup.

If England succeed, we fail anyway, because then more questions will be asked about why we were so determined to get rid of Hodgson.

TSP

From what I've seen/heard, as far as press/general public are concerned, England fail = Liverpool fail, England success = England success

I've no idea why you think if England get knocked out the Reds have failed.Johnson has had 3 sound games and Stevie Gee is our man of the tournament so far.Henderson just had a comeo appearence while Carroll scored a great goal and played well in his full game.Now if most of the England team played for Liverpool what you feel might make some sense.

im not a liverpool fan,but i was in a local sports shop yesturday with my son to get him the new arsenal home shirt,by chance they also had the long sleeve shirt in stock aswell,he couldnt decide between the short and long sleeve so after 10 min i left him to it and walked over to the sports shoes for a look where i met a bloke who said,having problems deciding mate,no point in me giving advice he doesnt listen i said,i know what thats like he said,it could be worse i have to fork out £35 for that lfc home shirt over there.i looked over and seen a young lad browsing the lfc shirts.i know they arnt cheap i said,its not that,i know they arnt cheap he said but i cant bear to stand over there with him knowing i will have to pay £35 for that!,dont get me wrong he said im a life long liverpool fan,but this is the first time i have felt lfc are ripping me off,i will have to turn my head away at the counter when i pay for it im so annoyed.you dont like the design then i said,design! what design its like one of the workwear tee-shirts i buy,a pk of 5 for a tenner at least the arsenal shirt looks like it has cost a few bob to make with the different colours and that he said,thats it im not going to talk anymore about it anymore i feel myself starting to boil he said.i laughed then the subject was changed to the weather.i had a quick look at the liverpool shirt before i left the store and i see his point,just wondering what you guys think

I think it's my all time fave lfc shirt to be honest

The man with genuine inside information from anfield {Ed001's Note - it is by far and away the nicest I can ever remember, feels great on and looks damn good too.}

New shirt is quality back to the red and yellow lettering of the old days! Got it in short and long sleeve! I'm buy them to show my support and make a contribution ! My investment demands performance on the pitch! Buy it , don't buy it it's a personnel thing!

I'm thinking I wished I hadn't wasted a minute of my life reading that....Some people are really quite odd.

Chally

My head hurts after reading that.

Disagree with the guy. I love the new strip. Its actually something that i would wear as a casual shirt. Really smart.

I think this should be in banter and is a little dull

I think you should take a breath......

Best shirt for a long time,with a great classic look!!

If he's a lifelong fan of any club and only this season realised head been getting fleeced then he isn't the sharpest tool in the box! All football replica shirts are grossly overpriced yet even if they were made out of dog s**t people would still lap them up.

That being said though, id sooner pay £35 for our suave new 'vintage look' kit than your boys shirt with the french flag on the sleeves lol.

davethebutcher

For £25m per season, they can make whatever kit they like.
Personally, I like it. Best LFC kit for a long time.

Evrybody has their own preference I find the jersey quite classy and comfortable supringsly but to me the arsenal shirt look the same a's this year except with a black stripe at the sleeve

I love it when them celebrity fans like Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, come on our site.

Thanks Lawrence your opinion as always is much appreciated.

It needed a revamp. it is fine, as long as the team wins who cares what it looks like.

redshp

Zzzzzzz Zzzzzzz Zzzzzzz. No one has to buy something they don't want.

Honestly? I think your a nob. It's our best shirt in years.

Its a much better lookin jersey than arsenals "retro" one a few seasons back

I think you should learn to puncuate.

I don't like any of the new kits. Shame
Rd

I think we should play in skins next season

Don't care if we played with red lace on the kit as long as we start winning things again

Quality of the material is crap my gransons is already starting to bobble but like the style

Eds read on the internet that were set to lose out on sigurdsson to spurs is this true or are we still believed to be signing him when he returns from holiday plz post this as I would like your opinion {Ed001's Note - no one knows, he has offers to choose from, it will be a personal decision by the player himself.}

24 Jun 2012 10:56:30
Sigurdsson set to sign for Tottenham- Spurs have offered a better financial package and are preparing for life after Modric. It appears that Sigurdsson is on his way to Spurs!!

Never believe any deal is done and dusted until they run out in the Red shirt .
Sigi`s is no different I though the BR influence was pivotal in his move away from his club.
Spurs dont have a manager who`s buying him then ??

McGurk

A team with no manager - first clue - has offered a better financial package to a player who is on holiday and has stated that he'll sort his future out afterwards - second clue - but who is a massive fan of Rodgers - third clue - as he was the man who gave him his big break in football, before bringing him back to the Premier League - 4th clue - and who called off a 95% done deal in order to follow him - 5th clue - and that player is going to take it?

People need to stop reading the papers, especially as most rumours seem to start on Caught Offside, then move to Goal, Transfer Tavern, then the Star, then the Express, to the Mirror and then to the Mail and then back to bloody Caught Offside. They are circular, can people not see this?

TSP

Yeah right, and that would prove that Sig is liar?!??. How?!??. I just don't see how they player who clearly has admiration for our manager and has openly told that he will talk to Swansea new manager before joining us decided against the move. On the other note, what does s**tspurs offer him that we don't?!?. Clearly he has openly brain and see that the club is unstable and players want out as compared to our club which is building up and not selling any star players. The only hold up in the deal to sign for us is that he is comfortably enjoying hiatus holidays.......

All these long paragraphs, hes coming to liverpool end of.

Only a few years ago spurs knew their place about 7th we need to take over these small clubs at least if they start taking players off us were screwed not only behind the top 4 but out of contention to even get back in .

Haahahaahahhahhaaha! No he's not.

COME TO ORDER. This is an extraordinary general meeting of the Anfield branch of the Shady Pines Home for the Bewildered, called by Puzzled so that he may put a proposal to the vote.
Puzzled: I propose that Liverpool FC should re-sign one Xabier Alonso Olano.
My previous posts, albeit spasmodic and succinct, have given enough clues to show that I am not from the younger end of the age spectrum of posters on this site and therefore I do not want to hear even a whisper of MOTD fever.
Mr Alonso who is in his 31st year obviously does not fit FSG's preferred age profile but IF he could be signed for a 'reasonable ' fee and IF he would accept a 'reasonable' salary (subjective terms I know) then he could be excellent value for the 3 to 4 seasons service we could expect.
He knows the Premier League, he knows the club and the city. His playing style is ideally suited to the much publicised style and tactics which Mr Rodgers favours. In short - if we re-sign Xabi Alonso he would be the catalyst which would kick-start this new beginning we have with our new Manager.
I will take no questions from the floor.
Please vote for, our against, this proposal by using the buttons highlighted below.
Thankyou and good morning

Puzzled

It'd be wonderful and i honestly believe alonso would come back to us if we offered him a contract, but i cant see madrid accepting any bid within our budget, next year when khedira and sahin are better replacements then we'll have a better chance

We signed Bellamy didn't we? I don't think the transfer system means we can't buy overage players, especially if they improve the team.

BthekingB

I have been hoping for this to happen for last 2 years last year alonso was interiewed on lfctv and said he would consider coming back due to his love of lfc, make him an offer he cant refuse brendan

I loved Alonso when he played for us but proposing we re-sign him presupposes that he'd be happy to leave Spain and his comfort zone to return to the Reds.Also what price would be asked for him at 31?

24 Jun 2012 09:52:43
I can't believe LFC fans would take £20 million for Skrtel!
Thiago Silva who is the same age was subject of a bid of £37 million!
Is Thiago Silva twice the player Skrtel is? No
We should hold out for £30 million as there are very few CBs on Skrtels level in the world at the minute

Thiago Silva plays for AC Milan, a champions league team, while Skrtel plays for a Europa League team. That's why the price is low. Besides, if the player wants to leave there's nothing you can do.

SUMON VAI

I absolutely agree! I don't want Martin to leave but if the Man City cheque book has turned his brain then we MUST hold out for a really big fee.I'm sick and tired of us letting players leave [ Torres excepted ] on the cheap!

Your deluded Thiago Silva is an incredible CB and is probably three times the player Skrtel is!!

I agree,
Its seems that we pay top money on every deal and sell at an average price.

£20m isnt a bad offer but when you consider City paid 23-24 for Lescott 2-3 years ago surley we should be looking for 28 plus

RedLee

Nice in theory, but be under no illusions Citeh will go for someone else if we try and hold them to ransom. FSG are nothing if not shrewd businessmen and they'll know that Skrtel's value may not get any higher, so better to cash in now. Also, who's to say Silva's actually worth that price tag? I doubt that's what he'd actually be sold for

Mate, with all due respect What Are You On?

It's pointless trying to make sense of bids like £37m for a CB (if true). Was Carroll worth £35m? Was Ibrahimavic worth how ever many million plus Eto'o? No and no

£20m for a CB is good money I would say

Gav

I din't think we will sell Skrtle unless we need the money to get Rodriguez. Personally I think he will stay.

You're assuming that a player's transfer value increases proportionally with his skill level.

The reality is, the more attribute "boxes" a player ticks then their market value increases exponentially. Or at least what the selling club believe to market value to be...

Thiago Silva is pretty much accepted as the best centre back in the world right now, Skrtel isn't even the best centre half at Liverpool. So yes, Silva is twice the player and worth twice as much

At last some sense of true value! About time LFC stopped being the transfer market mugs.

We got charged 25 million for downing, surely skrtel is worth at least 30 million haha

Thiago Silva is at least twice the player Skrtel is.

Ash

Take the red tinted glasses off. I'm a reds fan, Skertl is good but not that good. Hope we fleece City for 20 to 25 million.

Mark H

I would say, ordinarily £20m for Skrtel would be a fair offer however, as it's City I'd ask for £25m minimum

Thiago Silva is a joke, no way is he worth nearly 40m, maybe on FIFA he is, but not in real life, 25m tops, with Skrtle worth max 15m, we should snap Citehs hands off if they offer 20m or more

Who claims that Thiago Silva is the best centre-half in the world? Where has he proven himself? In a very average Italian league? On the world stage at international level? There is absolutely no way that Silva would look twice as good as Skrtel in the EPL. FACT!

Hye Eds,

Pls post this.

LFC Striker target next season:-
Soldado - can cross from list now. Just sign new deal
Borini - Roma just bought him. Cant see him to Anfield at this time. can cross from list too.
Luuk de Jong - Heard that he open to move to Newcastle. It would be a mistake if LFC not even try to bid for him. Right Eds? So, we still have a chance.
Salomon Rondo - Looks like we have some interest for him. Skillfull, pacey, good all round finisher. At 20M, not a bad price to team with Suarez at front. Eds, ur opinion on Rondon?
John Guidetti - Eds, any interest in Citizen striker whos on loan last season? Quite a good finisher and young too.
Wilfried Bony - Not much heard about him to Liverpool. But considering Rodger following Eredivise leageue, LFC might put bid for him?

Hope to get ur opinion on this Eds.

Thanks and have a gud day.

Sammy Ghadia'LFC {Ed029's Note - So far it looks like Rondon is the most likely, De Jong will probably go to Newcastle, Guidetti would probably demand big wages and Bony is possible but no contact yet

I reckon Borini is more likely now his ownership situation has been resolved. Roma could double their money if they cash in now and I'm sure BR will make a bid to test their interest in keeping him

Isn't Rondon the subject of interest from Chelsea too? Do you think he would turn them down to move to Liverpool? I'd love to believe he would but I wouldn't bet on it

Morning eds,fellow reds,after watching the highlights of the messi / Suarez match last night, I would not be surprised if that's the last time we will see Louis as Liverpool player ,he's different class and that won't go unnoticed by the big team.cheers psv

Dont worry he is going nowhere, after also watching the highlights you must have noticed that tackles were few and far between. A exhibition match that favored any forward player jeez even i might have been able to do a few dribbles!

Mike

Liverpool are a big team you nonce!

50 mill might get him.Anyrhing less forget it.
We know his qualities and I think he will still be here next season. Problem we have is so many players involved in Internationals, then there is the Olympics.Just to many games.Players are not getting a long enough break.

Are we not a big team!!!!! get a grip.

Since when do teams use a charity match as a match to decide whether to buy a player or not. I'm not doubting Suarez is world class but why would this match make a difference

Yes he played well and if lfc had any brains i would pick seedorf up, free and give him 2 year deal, better than adam and spearing, well a corpse is better than spearing

He has been noticed by a big team, LIVERPOOL!

We are one of the big teams a think you
are on the wrong site mate you want the

Quick question ed. if we sell the likes of cole aqua maxi kuyt etc. how far would we be from breaking even or is the wage bill still to high. Thanks jc {Ed005's Note - The reason we lose money is partly because the wage bill doesn't reflect the ability of the team, the loss of CL football but mostly the previous owners. We're looking to sort it out and I trust FSG to do that.}

Aren't the wages at around 70% of turnover? Which is high. It's a CL wage bill with no CL revenue. So L'pool need to either a) trim the wage bill or b) get back in the CL (in short term). Of course a 60,000 seater stadium would improve revenue but that's not an instant solution

Good morning eds have been told that we are eyeing up a move for aggers international central defensive partner same person told me not to rule rogers out even when hed ruled himself out but also told me avb was 1st choice and at 1 point we wer looking at moses and wijinaldum? he was wrong abt them 3 but has been right abt a lot of things such as suarez downing carrol etc was just wondering is a move for the danish defender on the cards? and if so would it be aswell as or instead of MS? i would like aswell as as JC isnt getting any younger n the youngsters need time. cheers eds and reds CRAIG {Ed005's Note - There was under Rafa and there have been rumours, but I think people are just putting him in there because he plays with Agger mate, that's my view anyway.}

Hi eds, is it true that Xabi Alonso may return? If it is can we bring him back this summer? And please, shed some light on the Rondon rumours. Thanks in advance for your kind association.

SUMON VAI
P.S: We should sell Carroll immediately as he's rubbish, terrible, pathetic etc. {Ed005's Note - No not at the moment he is key for R.Madrid. I guess if any Italian player does well tomorrow our fans will ask the eds are we in for them too. And interest in Rondon is all I know at the moment mate - a real and serious interest.}

Why do people feel the need to work in an insult about our players? I feel you should be sold as a fan if that were possible as your simply whinging for the sake of it.
Sorry eds but it really grates on my nerves when that happens.
KiwiRed

That was quite a nice polite post and question, until you venomously decided to call one of our own players "terrible and pathetic"
You're the pathetic one SUMON VAI and you don't deserve to call yourself a fan

Joe

As i remember Andy Carroll almost single handedly rescured our end to the season. Perhaps football knowledge is not your strong point?

How good is Rondon? With Malaga being cash rich why would they allow him to leave? If the 20m price tag is to be believed I find that outlandish as Malaga paid 2.9m for him a year ago.

Our scouts really have to up their game. How many times do the southern european clubs pick up a bargain in South America or Africa and sell them on a couple of years later for a vast profit. We need to get in there first. We should not to paying 35m or 20m, finished article money, for potential. What was our last transfer bargain?

Wavertree Red {Ed001's Note - nothing to do with scouting, they don't have work permit issues to worry about. We can't get half finished kids, they simply don't get work permits.}

I'll bet you were one of the idiots who were screaming when we failed to sign Chamakh. "Oh God this guy's pure class and Arsenal got him"! If you reckon Carroll's cr*p then that likely means he'll score a mittful for us next season.

I don't know. It's never happened to me before. I never slated any Liverpool player before but I just can't stand Carroll. He's so disgusting. I hate him. Don't know why. His horrible form has made me angrier than before. He's rubbish. He'll never succeed in Liverpool I GUARANTEE you that.

SUMON VAI {Ed029's Note - I feel he'll be a key player next season

We can not (nor should we) offer 100% blind support because someone is wearing the jersey. Not every player displays the same respect, determination and skill.

It is the fans responsibility to ask these questions. We can all point to some magic players the team has bough over the years. We can also admit to some mistakes.

Thanks Ed005 and no, I won't any Italian players. But everyone knows how much we, Liverpool fans, love Xabi Alonso. Happy to know that we're serious about Rondon. I like him.

SUMON VAI

--and if Carroll scores the winner all of a sudden he will be world class.
I cannot believe how short sighted and football ignorant some people are.
CR

Carroll will be key for us now, having lost the weight and getting fit the two performances against Chelsea were absolutely fantastic, he's taken time but he'll become a true Liverpool number 9

Carroll is brill rushie drogba crouchie henry theres a few players of the top of my head who admitted they started of badly at their respective clubs didnt do too bad after being given a chance to settle in did they i think the big man will score loads this season. Tommy Irish Red.

The Daily Star is reporting that Rodgers is prepared to sell Skrtel to boost his coffers for incoming transfers. Is this true eds?

Mighty reds {Ed005's Note - The way I look at it is this - £20m is a great offer for Skrtel and must be considered.}

If a £20m or more offer came in for Skertel BR would think about it very seriously.We have a ready made replacement in Coates so no need to buy a new CB,I for one would defo take the money but maybe you would not agree....Cheer's Ed's&All.

20 million for skrtel, tell me where he lives I'll drive him up there myself, like the player but I think the offer would be too good to turn down

Fazza

Let's take the money and promote Coates or Kelly to the middle.

Damn right ed, Although he had a great season he still tends to give away silly fouls and for 20 million surely we could find a good young replacement with a bit of change left over.
G Red

Can't believe the Skrtle knockers. He was excellent last season.Agree Coates is probably good enough to step in but we would also need another cover due to the amount of matches we have to play next season.I am still not convinced this is more than paper talk.We shall see.

20m is plenty look at how much we paid for him and look at how much his replacement would cost, either coates (free) or someone like dejan lovren who would cost £7m - £8m.

If Joleon Lescott cost £22m we should be settlimg for about £27m I reckon not £20m

So ed5 is there 20 mill on the table?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed022's Note - No there isn't.}

24 Jun 2012 08:34:20
Hello eds.
Do liverpool have any interest in jordan rhodes.I know he plays at a lower level but he is excellent in and around penalty area which is what we severly lack. Wouldn't cost a bomb and is only 22. Also do u think carroll will fit into a brendan rodgers style team.
N.ireland red. {Ed005's Note - Not heard anything mate regarding BR interest but Dalglish was interested.}

"Wouldn't cost a bomb"? Then you know how much Rhodes's club is asking for him then? I take it you've got an "in" at the club have you

After they won promotion the huddersfield chairman when asked if rhodes wud still b there next season he said it wud depend if anyone offered 15 mill for him and i wud like to think we wouldnt b that stupid to pay that for a striker with no prem experience....steve

well done to Xabi Alonso last night made up for him wining his 100th cap and scoring two goals man of the match in my books he really is a top man on and off the pitch now there is a world class footballer never mind all this rubbish about rooney being world class i know they play different positions but still xabi is light years a head of rooney who isnt fit to clean rushie's bootS any way now there was a true world class striker rant over

RED KENNY

I've always been a big fan of Xabi Alonso. But you take it easy with those comments about Rooney now. You do support England. don't you? And Rooney is England's only striker apart from Welbeck. Carroll is rubbish so there's no point talking about him.

SUMON VAI

Xabi Alonso is one of my favourite players. Shame his Liverpool career was ended the way it was as he always wanted to continue playing for the club.

Take it easy with the comments about carroll...you do support Liverpool, don't you?

Red Lee

Welbeck is the worst one out of the three you have mentioned, Rooney scores 1 goal in 3 international tournaments shows he's not international world class, club level yes I agree he is, but saying Carroll is rubbish and no point talking about him, when u clearly praise Rooney and welbeck, shows to me that your are very much on the wrong page, so why not do every Liverpool fan a favour and go back on to your manc reds page and let every England fan support the whole squad regardless of whose in the starting 11

How is Carroll rubbish? When called upon he plays well.
Rooney is very overrated, maybe a good player but when Roy compared his coming back into the team like Pele I couldn't stop laughing.

Red Lee, you're witty. I like that. Yes, I do support Liverpool. But Carroll is a different case. I can't help insulting him.

SUMON VAI

With you Red Lee, England improved when Carroll came on against Ukraine simply because his challenges stopped them knocking the ball straight back at our defence and putting us under pressure again.
Rooney has his moments of brilliance give Carroll credit when it is due.Some people are so short sighted it is unbelievable.

Give carroll a chance u wool, did you watch FA cup final or the semi? The lad can be as good as Gomes, but it would be easier for him if so called fans got behind him instead of taking the piss, remember Lucas - awful for 2 years - now best DM in Prem

What rafa was thinking i dont know

G barry instead of xabi strange decision for a good manager like rafa maybe he had a big ego that xabi annoyed talk about cut of your nose to spite your face would barry get 100 caps for spain ;o) Tommy Irish Red.

Just a quick point I'd like to make. Last week I read numerous posts slating the signing of Sigurdsson with fans saying no other good clubs want him etc. etc. etc.! Now I notice people getting very worried that the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea are interested.

Careful what you wish for. {Ed005's Note - Agreed.}

Sigurdsson is quality and young

I think hes a great signing but don't really want krasic or borini. I would love sigardson Munian and Lukk de Jong

Doesn't really matter who he signs, people are always going to judge the player before putting a red shirt on.

If we get Sigurdsson, Rondon & Krasic I'll be happy. If we sell Carroll, I'll be over the moon.

SUMON VAI

I've read a lot posts that arrogantly state Spurs can't sign Sigurdsson as they don't have a manager & he'll definitely sign for us. Not having a manager is irrelevant, as the Board of the club are more than capable of making offers for players and finalising the contract (i.e. Chelsea sealing the Hazard deal when they weren't in contact with Di Matteo). Spurs know they'll lose Modric & Van de Vaart, so Sigurdsson would be an obvious alternative and would be guaranteed a start. Whilst both clubs will play in the Europa League this season, Spurs have a recent track record of finishing in and around through top four, which we don't.

Personally, I hope & believe he will sign for us, but I'm not under any illusions that his agent will try to secure the most lucrative deal he can, as that's what he's paid to do...

I have always wanted Sigardson, will be a great asset if we get him.I am a little surprised at our lack of interest in Luuk di Jong but can onlty assume that Brendan has other irons in the fire.

high intrest in muniain but who doesnt have high intrest in him at the moment hopefully we can pull something magical off and get him

Jpow_LFC

If we allegedly bid 23m for James Rodriguez then what harm will come from a 25m bid for Muniain? {Ed029's Note - Good point but Athletico would probably want more money than that

Any news on cavani as I haven't heard of any interest from any clubs yet?
Also I was watching the pre masters tour that messi organised and Suarez looked sharper than ever!
