Ed why don't we put all of our power to get bastos prob the best left winger out there pace power and can finish an cross perfect player if u ask me. . {ed's note - I have no idea, except that maybe he is not as good as you think?}

Hey im pretty new 2 this site but im already addicted :) was just wondering, eds or anyone else, which of the following do u feel we hav the most realistic chance of getting and why?
Elia
Turan
Mata
thx and keep up the gd work

Turan seems most likliest at moment but its a long way to summer and things can change. However Mauvearux (*spelling*) is most likliest. -Mc

{Editor's Note: There will be changes in the summer. M'Vila seems a viable option. I have no idea about the injuries - no doubt the club will report on them in the next day or so.}

in your opinion do you think ngog will leave and who do you think would be a good replacement for the bench? thanks {ed's note - it does look likely he will leave, he has not been impressive. As for a bench replacement, I would rather we looked to buy someone for the first team than waste money on players for the bench.}

24 Feb 2011 21:05:39
Anyone think we will show any interest in Ola Toivonen again this summer?

Ed what do you think? {ed's note - I don't know, depends on other targets as he is defo not first choice.}

Can I make a request that has been made before but does not seem to be headed relating to Believable/ Unbelievable buttons? Why do we not abide by the simple rule below:
If you agrre with the last post in the thread press Believable - that includes what the Eds say.
If you do not then press Unbelievable.

I get the impression people are not viewing what the Eds say as part of the posts and on many occassions pressing Unbeilvable when they should be doing otherwise?

I agree that it can be confusing, but what happens to your rule when the ed says something contradictory to the post? Which one would you be agreeing with?

this is a perfect example!

Ed, i don't rate johnson at all at side back! and he isn't good enough to play anywhere else in the future. For a player who demanded a contract to be playing so many games and on 125k a week, i think he has to go, if not this summer, the next, and i do rate Zhirkov, hes just never been given a run in the chelsea side. Ed? {ed's note - what is a side back? Johnson is twice the player Zhirkov is, and I don't really rate Johnson. I don't understand your obsession with a player who has shown no quality, no pace, no power, no trickery, no defensive qualities, nothing.}

24 Feb 2011 19:25:37
Ed, we are looking at LB'S. With Yury Zhirkov looking like leaving chelsea, why don't we sing him, hes outstanding. Ed, are we interested, do you rate him? {ed's note - he's not outstanding, he has done nothing at Chelsea to stand out and has been very average. I would prefer to keep Johnson out there personally.}

24 Feb 2011 19:00:43
Ed, Tell me that ngog and poulsen are being considered to move on? {ed's note - Ngog is only seen as a back up behind Suarez, Kuyt and Carroll, if we get another striker in the summer it is unlikely he will stay. Poulsen is not likely to be here next season, again we are looking to replace him with better.}

24 Feb 2011 18:06:49
Ed, to conclude mate(sorry), will LFC make a bid for him?

Cheers

{Editor's Note: A clue as to who you are talking about would help. If it is Aguero then I do not expect an offer to be made - there is no way that Liverpool will want to get involved in paying that level of wages.}

24 Feb 2011 18:04:51
{ed's note - I don't think Aguero is likely to join us, I think he is more likely to join Real Madrid, they will outbid us and Atletico need the money. But I think he would prefer to join us out of the two. Both Suarez and Carroll are goalscorers, I don't think we have too much to worry about there.}

Ed, man city bid 100m for kaka and he didn't go cuz he didn't want to go, he went to madrid for 56m. Ed, its not nesessarily the highlest bid mate.

{Editor's Note: You missed the crucial words "and Atletico need the money". But in any case, I do not expect that Aguero will be moving to Liverpool - like Hazard and Sanchez.}

24 Feb 2011 18:01:42
Ed, aqeuro, an LFC fan.even though chelsea are favourites, if an offer was tabled, would he come mate? {ed's note - can we move on? This is getting as repetitive as the questions about Suarez's eligibility! Yes he might well come, but he earns more a week than any player at Liverpool, so he would have to accept a pay cut. It is extremely unlikely to happen.}

Liverpool FC confirms that following the successful transition of the Club to its new owners, Christian Purslow is to step down as special advisor and non-executive director.

LFC Chairman Tom Werner said: "We will always be grateful to Christian for his vital contribution to the Club during his time as Managing Director and latterly as Special Advisor.

"He has played a fundamental role in securing the future of the Club and in the sale of LFC to new ownership."

Christian Purslow said today: "I have been happy to be available to provide support for the new owners during the transitional period since the sale but now Liverpool FC is in excellent shape for the future, and in safe hands, it is time for me to concentrate fully on other business interests. I look forward with pride and excitement to watching Liverpool FC compete at the highest levels once again."

I think Christian deserves our thanks, and best wishes.

Hi Ed do you know of any interest in Sergio Ag ero, Arda Turan, Karim Benzema, Yan m'vila and Ashley Young? {ed's note - there is an interest maintained in all of those players.}

Thanks Ed. Do you think there are any chances of signing them? {ed's note - I think there is a very good chance of getting a couple of them.}

Which couple of players Ed?

{Editor's Note: Perhaps M'Vila would be most likely, then Young or Turan, Benzema less likely and Aguero is unlikely in my view.}

Would you want these players? And do you think they will actually happen Ed? {ed's note - I have faith that Kenny Dalglish will pick the right players.}

24 Feb 2011 16:34:52
Ed does the match kick off at 6pm {ed's note - yes.}

24 Feb 2011 16:48:37
100% Fact! ! ! Taye Taiwo will be a Liverpool player next season he has agreed a 4 year deal. My mate is at the ground and its going round the Sandon and Sam Dodds leaked from a very reliable Liverpool source who works for Liverpool Football Club. Expect it be announced in a few week on a pre-contract agreement. This is a Damien Comolli signing with the backing of Kenny Dalglish.

On the grape vine so to speak is that the owners are goin to try and get a younger manger if they fall the king will get it i personaly think this is dumb no has more respect of the squad staff and supporters the King Kenny . . . . . . . make of this what you will but it whats floating about

Ed, do you think that these players would be interested in signing if they had the chance to:

-Cissokho(1), Bastos(2)

-Adam Johnson(4), Mata(5), Griezmann(6), Afellay(7), Payet(8)

-M'Villa(9), J Martinez(10), Defour(11),

-Aguero(12), Hulk(13), Benzema(14), Bojan(15), Iker Munian(16), Pato(17)

It's not a question of "are they likely to sign", no. But would, in your view, they give serious consideration to the idea?

Lastly, ed, are you convinced of Turan's ability to adapt to the rigors of the prem?

Kromkamp {ed's note - any player would give serious consideration to a move to Liverpool, it is a huge club and it is on the up. I am not really convinced about Turan, but Dalglish has recommended him in the past and if he rates him that is good enough for me.}

Summer Ins:
Ashley Young
Sergio Aguero
Yan M'Vila
Marveaux

Summer Outs:
Poulsen
Konchesky
Degen
Krygiakos
El Zhar
Darby

24 Feb 2011 14:27:26
Hi Ed I think all these foreign names we are linked with in the summer are a no go i expect Ashley Young to sign and defnitely think the king fancies Baines at left back also Charlie Adam looks a done deal if we show our interest again expect Konchesky Ngog Poulsen Maxi to depart

24 Feb 2011 14:24:52
Jose Enrique - £8m
N'Zogbia - £9m
Aquilani to return from loan spell at Juventus if they don't meet the £12m asking price.

Realistic summer targets.

24 Feb 2011 14:01:30
Yes ed i was i think id much prefer aguero wouldn't u {ed's note - anyone who isn't 45 with dodgy knees would be a plus. Aguero/Llorente would be my first choice players though.}

24 Feb 2011 01:10:39
Ed do you know if we have been watching or had any interest in Arjen Robben?

With Torres and Aquilani gone, Aurelio's going to need some company in the treatment room.

24 Feb 2011 14:08:50
John Arne Riise and Alonso back to LFC? what do you think ed, would they be welcome back and do you think we have much chance of getting 2 well liked players to return? {ed's note - I am sure they would be welcomed by the players and fans, but highly unlikely. Riise is over the hill and was never really good enough and Alonso is first name on the team sheet for Real Madrid.}

Lol, this has not given me much hope for next season, if Marveaux is the most likely to join us, out of all those players, as we need a DM, LW, RW, LB, CM. Do you think we will sign a player for each of these positions? {ed's note - not all of those, nor do we need that many signings.}

24 Feb 2011 13:51:55

Martin Skrtel has joked about transfer speculation linking him away from Liverpool.

A Sky Sports News reporter quizzed Skrtel on his plans for the future and links with a move away from the club - at which point manager Kenny Dalglish intervened by telling the questioner: "Behave yourself.

"You've been linked to the BBC! There is a difference between a link and a fact."

The question was then re-phrased to whether Skrtel sees himself as having a big future in L4.

"Of course, " he replied

An then sell off the likes of poulson, ngog, jova, maxi etc an buy some quality squad players, i also think we need an impact sub who can come on an change a game, like hernandez for united, an old school fairclough wud be nice

what do ya think ed ?

{Editor's Note: Liverpool know what they need to do if they wish to obtain the player's services. There have already been talks betwenn Juventis and Lyon over Bastos and a offer from Juventus refused. Juve need to decide to either up their bid or to persuade Taiwo not to wait on an opportunity at Benfica to arise. Bastos has always said that he wants to move to Barcelona but I don't know of any interest from them. The rejected bid was for 14.4M according to my information. So the chance is there for the club, should they wish to press. It was thought that 16M-18M would be enough for Lyon to sell, but I fear they would up the price a little for an English club.}

wud you agree with me on the need for more impact player for the bench ?

{Editor's Note: I don't really know what you mean by "impact player for the bench"}

Heard this from a very reliable source when it comes to all Blackburn rumours. Liverpool will make an official approach to Blackburn in the hope of signing young centre back, Phil Jones. Contact has already been made.

Not sure why we would be after him with the likes of Wilson and other good young centre backs coming through the ranks.
