Hi eds I appreciate your comments about Suarez future. Some questions I have for you.

What clubs are interested in him other than Bayern and Juventus?

Could you give us a rough realistic valuation of what Liverpool would want?

Do you believe buying clubs would match that valuation taken in account his disciplinary problems? {Ed002's Note - (a) The fear is Manchester City. (b) £33.47M. (c) It will be a long summer.}

Ed, who could we get to replace him. I am not a huge Sanchez fan. {Ed002's Note - I don't know but Suarez and Pere Guardiola kight be able to help I am told.}

Lol £33. 47million (39. 28m euro), good joke

i'd day nothing less than double what lfc paid. so around £45-£48m

Nearer 50m no less!

What we the fans value Suarez at and what the club would be willing to accept are two different things.

I personally think Suarez was always going to be sold in the summer if an offer of around £40 Million was put on the table, however last weeks episode may see Luis sold on for a figure around £27 Million.

I'd love the bloke to stay, and think selling him would be a backward step especially if he goes on the relatively "cheap", but realistically I think this is where the club is at financially and any figure equal to or above what we paid for Luis might be considered good business by the owners.

Very frustrating and difficult to know what is the right option.

Haha your rite Ed going to be a long summer for Liverpool probably going to be a lot of deals happening.

Ed002 all the Liverpool journos have said that Liverpool value suarez in excess of 50m so I don;t think he will be leaving for £33m

Man City fans don't want Suarez!

Alonso and Higuain for Suarez!

Ed.
Noting related to Suarez.
But what a player is Lewondoski.
My GOD, the guy is unbeatable.
Any chance we go in the summer for him?

I heard he might head to UTD? {Ed001's Note - sorry, it does look like it will be between Bayern and United.}

Are you serious? Why would such a quality player even consider Liverpool never mind join them.

Would Dortmund willingly sell to Bayern? I know they have sold goetze but surely they won't allow all their best players to leave to their closest Bundesliga rivals {Ed002's Note - Goetze went because BAyern met his release clause and the player wanted the move.}

24 Apr 2013 19:20:37
Eds unsure if you've answered this one today but are the stories credible on this Armenian player? Never heard of him or seen him play so can't really say anything on him.

Do you have any knowledge on him?

Jonesred {Ed001's Note - I am trying to look into this, somebody else has asked about him too, so I will put this answer up in the meantime so they know they aren't being ignored! Mkhitaryan's end are the ones doing all the talking about him being of interest. It is clear he wants a move to England, but it is unclear at the moment if it is just his reps trying to engineer a move here or not. We have certainly had Shaktar Donetsk watched on a number of occasions this season, which backs up the story.}

If we have had Shakhtar watched, I'd be shocked if Mkhitaryan wasn't the focus- or, if he wasn't to begin with, didn't become so. He's brilliant!

Hi ed. Just to move away from the suarez stuff who would you say are the three players we are most interested in at the moment. Just a guess for a bit if fun if you don't really know. {Ed001's Note - we know that we are after at least 1 central defender, we have looked at a few, Toby Alderweireld being one of those. Personally though, I think he is an outside bet, I would expect it to be more likely to be Botia, who I am told we have been looking at. I am hoping that it is Medel too, but I am told Botia is the target, though I have not seen much of him, so no idea if he is even any good. That is the only player I can think of at the moment whose name I haven't seen mentioned, that I am told we are looking at. Actually be interested if anyone has any info on him?}

Ed do you know are LFC intrested in Medel, would absolutely love him here.

Ed I've been told that Miran is being looked at, don't know if that would affect Botia though.

I've heard that botia is going to Swansea. barca had a buyback clause with sporting gijon but decided not to take up the option, instead he moved to sevilla for €3m. I've been told he's very highly thought of in Spain.

26 Apr 2013 14:56:20
I think the most likely LFC signing is Ince.

24 Apr 2013 18:56:07
Hi Eds, could you see us making a move for Badstubber to replace Carragher. Skrtels off to Russia so two CBs may be needed? {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely Badstuber will be joining us.}

24 Apr 2013 18:54:11
Hi Eds, Well do you think that ban means Andy Carroll may not have played his last game at Liverpool. If Suarez is out for the first 5 games we may see Carroll and Sturridge playing uptop.
Unless Suarez is sold (In which case I expect a BIG signing) I can only see our Defence being built on as Carragher's retiring and Skrtel may be sold CB seems the weakest position. {Ed001's Note - I really don't expect Carroll to return to our team, unless we really can't shift him at all.}

24 Apr 2013 18:41:14
Ed, read somewhere that Suarez could potentially be loaned out to some lower league team as they have more games left with Liverpool paying full wages obviously.
players in the league 1 or 2 team would be thrilled to train with a world class player & more people comes to know of the real side of suarez. highly unrealistic, but a good way to reduce his ban effective for next season. is it legally possible? {Ed001's Note - the loan window is shut for the season.}

24 Apr 2013 19:08:44
Time for Sturridge and Coutinho to really shine.

I'd love to see Suarez at Prenton Park :P

Even if this were true, this is not the way to go. The club is already being hammered from all directions. If we were to try and mitigate the effects of the ban, this would only do further damage to the club. The priority at the moment is not Suarez, it is to protect the good name of the club.

As I asked on the Banter pages, the loan window is closed here, but how about South America, Australia or the Northern European countries who start in the summer. Loan him out there for a fee, he wouldn't even get injured!! {Ed001's Note - I really don't expect the club to see that as an option, it would not be viewed favourably by the FA.}

Regardless of the fact the loan window is closed, to do this would totally destroy the club's reputation and would be a clear two fingers to the FA and indeed the rest of the league. It would be a disgraceful act.

I do see the point about being disrespectful to the FA but if the ban had been reasonable, about six matches in my opinion, we would not have to think about protecting our start to next season.

How about we protect it, by selling him and buying another player

24 Apr 2013 18:38:40
is there any interest in matthias ginter from sc freiburg?

24 Apr 2013 17:30:29
I don't know why you don't shut down the site on days like this. It's pointless - people are mental and need time to calm down. {Ed002's Note - I agree and think that we should do that.}

24 Apr 2013 15:45:26
Any interest in Patrick Herrmann?
Cheers D. V {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

24 Apr 2013 14:38:15
out of interest edward how much would Arjen Robben fetch? also who is looking at him? he is a class act as a player

Alves {Ed002's Note - I don't see that Liverpool would be interested in him and his preference would likely be for a move to Italy. Juventus, Inter and AC Milan have a long term interest in him and Palermo are looking at players of his ilk as part of their extensive rebuilding. PSG are consideringing him as an option but Anzhi's interest is unlikely to attract the player.}

He was class last night

The EPL is too rough for him!

24 Apr 2013 12:35:44
There's going to be a lot of movement in and out of B. Munich this summer they've already got: Mandzukic, Gomez, Muller, Kroos, Ribery, Robben and Shaqiri and they're buying Gotze, maybe Lewandowski and are rumoured to be interested in Suarez.

They play 4-2-3-1 at the moment and Will probably change to a 4-3-3 when Pep takes over. I know Gomez is on the way out but was wondering who else will leave and if Liverpool could make a move for any of them. I'd love Muller but he wouldn't come, and would definitely take Shaqiri too. I'm guessing Ribery and Robben would be looking for massive wages if they left Germany?

Cheers Eds

James
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Ribery, Pizarro, Gomez, Robben, Boateng, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Contento, Luiz Gustavo and Tymoshchuk could all be leaving.

They have the best team around at the moment why would they wreck this! {Ed002's Note - They are rebuilding for the next generation. A new manager is arriving and a very significant budget set aside for the rebuilding over the next season. I have explained this all before.}

24 Apr 2013 13:35:36
Nice. We need a CB and Badstuber would be ideal. How much in a region would he cost? {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to discuss the cost of player Liverpool has no interest in at this time.}

Badstuber and Luis Gustavo would improve us ten fold

Is this the Liverpool rumours site?

Out of that lot i'd love Boateng and Robben they would fit in with Brendans football model in a 4-3-3 formation we would be a very decent side if that happened. sadly it probably won't

Alves

In an ideal world we could do with taking Badstuber, Gustavo and Muller off their hands. Shame there's no chance of any of them. I think I'd carry Tommy Muller to Liverpool if needs be.

Why would any of these listed players join Liverpool? surely they would go to one of the top 4 English clubs

In what world would Badstuber improve Liverpool? He can't even get a game ahead of Van Buyten. The clue is in the first syllable of his name. BAD.

Our fans used to be knowledgable but now it seems that if a player looks above average on a console game then we simply have to buy him! {Ed023's Note - I've a feeling only me and you share the same opinion on BADstuber lol}

You do realize Badstuber is behind Van Buyten because of injury, prior to the serious knee injury he was usually in the starting 11.

Hi Ed's,

I've just read Rudi Voller, Bayer Leverkusen sporting director has said in an interview that he fears loosing Sami as he wants to come back to Liverpool.

Is there anything in this or is it merely "a one day he'd like to come back. " just seems a bit of a strange statement to make about loosing him.

P. S - I don't want Rodgers sacked, just wondered if there is a reason for this statement.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - As I have explained before, I don't know of any plans to fire Rodgers this summer.}

Rodgers must be given next season to get top four and a trophy. If he doesn't, them I would welcome Sami back.

What if Rodgers wasn't going to be sacked, but Sami came back as a defensive coach?

Morning eds,

Just curiosity but I know that Di Maria and Sanchez will be available this summer. Does Liverpool have any interest in either? and in your opinion would either be interested in Liverpool?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I speculated a while back that there might be interest in Sanchez is Suarez were to leave. Since then much has happened and discussions taken place with regards Sanchez so I would say it is looking unlikely at this time. Di Maria, no.}

Thanks ed.

Hi Eds,

I saw one of you (i believe it was Ed001) say on here yesterday we have been in contact with Ajax and Christian Eriksen? I tried to find the post but its really difficult with so many people on here now!

Anyway if you could sum up the Eriksen and Liverpool situation that would be perfect,

Thank for all your great work!

Cheers {Ed002's Note - AC Milan, Liverpool, Roma and Spurs remain the most interested clubs in Eriksen but I would personally not rule out PSG, Arsenal, Manchester City (although he has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea) or other previously interested clubs regaining interest in him. Back in July 2012 the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen by them, although it came to nothing. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam until the end of next season before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons this summer. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain, or perhaps Italy, whilst now himself courting both PSG and Manchester City as interest from Spain has not arisen. Whilst all of these clubs continue to watch the player, no one has yet come forward with a bid but I would suspect if Manchester City were to make a bid then they would be well placed to complete the transfer.}

Ed002 why do u think eriksen would go to city this time when he has already rejected them before? because he would not play enough {Ed002's Note - I am also rather surprised he has said he would like to play for them. He certainly knows he needs to move on this summer and his desired move to Spain does not seem to be an option.}

24 Apr 2013 12:03:07
With the Goetze departure do you anticipate Dortmund increasing their interest? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Dortmund interest at this time.}

24 Apr 2013 12:42:20
i read in the mirrior yesterday he wanted the most money he can get if this is true maybe avoid this 1 would be a good idea but i'm sure if his atitude is wrong Liverpool would know by now. Tommy Irish Red

Bild are today reporting dortmund interest!

Morning Eds and fellow posters!

Ed002 if you are around, has there been any change in the situation regarding any of LFC's transfer targets?

That is,
1) Dejan Lovren
2) Stefan de Vriej
3) Christian Eriksen
4) Tom Ince
5) Balasz Dzsudzsak
6) Carlos Zambrano
7) Stefan Miggnolet

Also, has there been any interest towards Alderwereld? You mentioned LFC might be impressed but has there been any development?

Also, has there been any interest shown at any other players?

I read your post the other day regarding what LFC might do with Suarez, if they want to keep him or not, in light of this, has LFC shown an interest in a possible replacement?

Sorry for the long post.

The real AG {Ed002's Note - Aside from growning interest in Lovren there is nothing new that I am aware of in respect of these players. As far as I am concerned there has been no approach to Ajax by Liverpool regarding Alderweireld, but it would not be a surprise if that did happen. Given what happened with the latest incident with Suarez is as recent as Sunday I would doubt the focus will be a replacement just yet, but the club will be looking to avoid any further fall out - not least a repeat of his statement from Amsterdam last summer where he said that he would never get a fair deal from The FA. I have, as you say, explained what the moves the club could make are in respect of setting the player aside whilst matters settle. I now also think that regardless of what happens that he will not go on the pre-season tour.}

Thanks Ed002.

So by the looks of it, Lovren is seen as the one to replace Skrtel and Kelly to replace Carragher. I suspect a versatile CB to replace Coates, but someone who also can fill in at full-back and midfield if required. Zambrano and Gardos (not full-back) can do this.

The real AG {Ed002's Note - The thing is with Lovren that there is interest from elsewhere as well.}

Ed what would be the logic as to why luis would not go pre season the main reason I thought was to try get the players match fit if we leave him out it sounds like we mite aswell let him leave thanks {Ed002's Note - We can wait and see what happens.}

Who is showing interest in Lovren Ed002? Also, can we strike of Amorebieta from the list as he seems to be heading to Fulham?

The real AG {Ed002's Note - Lovren is attracting interest from a number of English clubs and has been watched by representatives of Sunderland, Everton, Chelsea, Stoke and Liverpool in addition to Roma, Barcelona and Hamburg. With Hamburg close to agreeing a deal for a centre back I suspect their interest will drop off. He could well be available at the right price in the summer, but Aulas will look for a higher fee from English sides if he sells - perhaps why he has told the world which clubs have shown an interest in Lovren. Roma and Chelsea have made direct approaches about his availability with Lyon. At this time, Amorebieta's most likely destination is Fulham.}

Morning Eds How true are the Henrikh Mkhitaryan Rumours {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar's Mkhitaryan is of interest to Lazio and interest possibly remains from Juventus, but the player is looking for a move to Spain with Barcelona or somewhere in England, preferably London, so he can get the very high wages he says he is due. Seems a bit of a flake to be honest. Shakhtar are looking for about €25M which seems high to me. I am not aware of interest from Liverpool at this time.}

Anything on Loic Remy and Micah Richards? Loic Remy has been class since he joined a struggling QPR side ad would add goals up tip, allowing Syrez to drop in behind. Any good team needs 3 good strikers with goals to secure a champions league spot. Although I hate them look at Utd they have 4 strikers who can all grab goals when the rest of their team is cras, (and they're still trying to add more). And with a reported £8 million buy out clause, why not he's proved he can score in the Champions League with Marseille as well.

As for Richards, obviously big injury concerns over him, but City look like they want to get him off the wage bill if we put in a £10 million bid and go from there surely they won't say no. A big strong quick defender who can play out from the back and has been used at centre back more often than not when he has been fit. And he's still only 23 if we could keep him fit then I believe he would be a great buy to replace Carragher and Skrtel.

Thanks Eds hope for a reply

RedsMatt {Ed001's Note - Remy's style is suited to a counter attacking team, not ours, I have heard of no interest from us, yet. Micah Richards was a Dalglish target, since then he has barely played, due to injury and loss of form (plus there were issues with his attitude), as far as I am aware we are not interested any more.}

Richards would be great under Dalglish

Although true ed, you could argue that similar things were said about Daniel Sturridge before he came.

24 Apr 2013 07:54:03
Ed, do you have any information regaring the possible ban of suarez? Will he get a ban? {Ed001's Note - how can anyone have any information yet? Just wait until the panel sits and makes their decision. Anything said before then is guesswork or conjecture.}

My guess is 12 matches.

I really wanted him to win the golden boot this season! : (

24 Apr 2013 05:03:16
I think marco van ginkel has fantastic season. I heard that christian eriksen is more likely to join man city and Liverpool.

He can't join both Manchester City and Liverpool.

24 Apr 2013 04:58:34
Any truth that Liverpool now looking xherdan shaqiri after mario gotze has confirmed he joiins bayern.

24 Apr 2013 00:10:41
hey eds,

do you think mario gomes will be moving on from bayern munich in the summer? he seems to have played second fiddle to mandzukic all season. I would imagine he would generate interest from a lot of clubs if he was available.

Thanks,

RedSam {Ed002's Note - Gomez will certainly be moving in the summer and is keen on a move to England.}

Are we in for him Ed's? {Ed002's Note - Not at this time.}

Do you suppose we may become interested, or do you see the expenditure (wages, transfer fee, tax, agent fee etc) required to gain his services be too much for the club? {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool at this time.}

What English clubs had he been touted to ed002? {Ed002's Note - I am aware of three London clubs being asked of any interest they might have.}

Gomez would be a fantastic signing for any team, he has struggled with injuries this season but 11 starts for Bayern 11 goals
