Hi eds, first time posting,
Based on the display last night, i was wondering if we were looking to sign any combative midfielders who can sufficiently screen our centre backs in the january transfer window
thanks in advance,
SR

{Ed001's Note - one performance doesn't make a transfer policy mate.}

I mean it has been a recurring issue this season which was highlighted heavily against RM, so are we looking at a Mascherano type player?
Thanks, SR

{Ed002's Note - It won't be a priority.}

We have a good enough squad. Mario wouldn't be my first choice transfer but he is here now and the manager has to figure out the correct utilization of the team he has assembled. Buying players just for the sake of making changes is never the right way forward.

Eds just read on metro that liverpool have lodged a 31.2 million bid for higuain? it doesn't say 'interested in' it says bid lodged, any truth to this?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - They are teasing you. No offer has been made. Liverpool might well be one of the interested clubs if he is made available for sale.}

Yes that is a bid odd, although i'm not sure if higuain is such a good idea as you hear that he is a very lazy player.

I think we need a player like lavezzi who can have similar effects as suarez in terms of work rate and inspiring others. I know he is not a very good finisher but people forget that suarez early in his pool career was all huff and puff and not great finishing, so maybe rodgers can help lavezzi with that

JOURNALIST: BR, BR, how do you plan on helping your defense get back to any sort of form.

Haven't seen anyone ask, do we have interest in Saido Berahino? I liked his movement when he played against us, runs for the cause, looking at stats, his shots vs goals is impressive this year. Would west brom sell in january? We can send Boroni on loan as cover.

I do think he needs another season or two of seasoning, but after watching Balotelli loaf and waste chances, think it's time to move on.

This used to be called MOTD fever ! Whenever a player starts getting a bit of tv coverage and the press bandwagon starts rolling everyone gets lined and everyone starts asking if we are interested.

He is quality tho and I think he would fit nicely with our quick attacking play. Add him to the list!

Be nice to think the club Would start their striker replacement list as early as people do on here ! They will probably leave it until 30th of January tho!

I thought the guy looked very good last season and thought he might even have been a better pick for England at the WC than Welbeck (although admittedly Welbeck is playing well at Arsenal.

Berahino remind me a lot of Sturridge, always moving, looking for space, not afraid to run in behind, just needs a bit of polishing before his talent turns into consistency.

Completely the opposite of our current striker.

He would likely be too expensive now, but I think he is a good player!
