Hi eds, any news on Udinese's Pablo Armero? It's reported officials met his agent at the QPR game.

Cheers. {Ed001's Note - I am trying to find out what I can now for you.}

Thanks alot 001. {Ed001's Note - no worries, I don't know if I will have anything tonight though, weekends can be difficult to get anything out of anyone.}

Why the hell would we need a Left back?

It's alright Ed, whenever you can mate.

With Robbo injured, and Aurelio on the way out we only have one. Enrique's been pretty poor for a month or two now, this is where we needed another LB to fill in or give him a kick up the arse.

Ed001, do you think that this could be a possible transfer... no pressure.. you guys always pull through {Ed001's Note - I am trying to find out, but it does seem we might be looking for another left sided player, not sure why though when we need someone for the right!}

He can play on the left wing too but can't believe why another left sided player. Downing does better on the left than right, I hope, it won't be what I am thinking. YNWA
We need to bolster squad on the right, though. YNWA

He can play as an all round mid. Hes quick and energetic and has a cracking shot. Would be decent signing for me

eds, do you think we'll get rid of charlie adam in the summer, if so do you think we'll replace him or will one of the youngsters like jonjo shelvey take his position? {Ed001's Note - no.}

He won't play so much next season with Lucas back. He's a good squad player though.

I still cant work out why Shelvey hasnt been given more of a chance. I'd rather have him in my starting 11 than hendo. Shelvey and Spearing are both fantastic, determined young players, nd neither came with a 20m price tag!

They are determined but lack quality...especially spearing

Any chance of german goalkeeper Marc Andre ter stegan? He looks amazing and only 17! Good back up for reina for a couple of seasons and then soon replace him!

I think we are looking at Garratt from Crewe Alexandra for the future.

Square tomato

This guy is awesome and after the way pepe has been performing lately would be good to have a superstar to get pepe back to being one of the worlds best

RTR07YNWA

He is actually 19

Scot carson? Chris Kirkland? Dean Bouzanis? need i go on

Why would we sign a goal keeper when Pepe is ever present? Seems unlikely to me.

Well, He is again a top German GK product. they've got lots of those, going through their history. He can be a very very good Gk in the future. YNWA

He's great on football manager, which is where i assume you sent your scouts

I live in germany but am a liverpool fan and he is outstanding! i would love to see him playing for liverpool!

hi eds, dirk kuyt says he may leave because de doesent get enough playing time. Rossi would be a good signing. his agent says he will accept 12million. Also we should sell caroll and buy tello and possibly afley

Dirk Kuyt says that does he? Probably when you overheard him talking to his mate over on the Albert Docks? Rossi's agent says he will accept £12m? Surely you mean the club will accept £12m? I doubt the player would have too much say in the transfer fee. Unless you're talking about the contract per year which would be 230k/year?

Kuyt will leave because he sadly isn't what the club need. He's been a great servant to the club, but his time on Merseyside is limited.

Carroll will not be leaving Liverpool FC.

Tello is being monitored (by about half of Europe).

Affelay* is returning from an injury, but may be available depending on Villa's return.

Stop harping on about Kuyt being a "great servant to the club". He is loyal and hard working - but has lost us more points by giving the ball away and bad ball control than I care to remember. He is one of the main reasons Liverpool have not done better in the past few years. Thanks to Dirk for his efforts, but move on now please, and you people that stick up for him are pathetic. Stop being so sentimental and get real ya bunch of gays.

Finally someone with the same appinion of kuyt he works so hard because he gives the ball away so much!i bet he has the highest percentage of given the ball away.
Kp

Ok 1) I choose not to take any personality advice from anyone who calls someone else 'ya bunch of gays' without prior knowledge of their sexual predilection - and even if every single person on this site was gay, it would still be offensive, no?

2) Kuyt miscontrols the ball a lot less than people think - but the negative always generates a lot more noise than the positive so let's just keep the bandwagon rolling eh?

and 3) If you have proven beyond all reasonable doubt by extensive years of research using your parallel dimension viewing device that Dirk Kuyt has cost us countless points from giving the ball away and bad ball control - something that, as I stated above, happens far less frequently than the hivemind of the negative glifnards dictates - then your post cannot be considered a grubby little piece of sensationalized rubbish; although, the laws of probability demonstrate that this is largely impossible so I do, in fact, get to call your post a grubby piece of sensationalist claptrap, twaddle and rubbish.

TSP

I agree but he want's out he is not happy being super sub

Pathetic? So it's wrong to say he's done well for the club in the past?

I'm also fairly sure he win's the ball back for the club with his putting the defenders under pressure, more than he loses it. If you have some sort of mental defect then i'll forgive what you said to a point but if not then i do wish you'd go and spend your time testing for traffic on the M62.

No chance of signing Rossi

ed do you reckon that junior hoilett will leave on a free and if so would he be a possibilty at rw/rm for us {Ed001's Note - yes, no I don't think we will be in the running.}

Why dont we just go int the running (should we have the money; which i expect we do) and if in the end we do not want him we dont pay big buck wages

Charlie Adam is rumoured to be out for the remainder of the season following a knee injury at QPR.

Daniel Rogers.

Praise the lord.

A blessing in disguise if you ask me. Not even his set pieces have been of any quality this season. Shocking distribution, his tackling makes Paul Scholes look good and he's slower than Peter crouch.

Poor, poor piece of business Kenny.

Id never wish for any player to be hurt. but we do have to look at the positives i guess. by god i hope shelvey starts tommorow. and hendo to sub him. both are real talents but i feel shelvey does better on the right then henderson

Well, u can say its a blessing in disguise for us. Though, I don't want any player injured but this can bring lots of positives with it, if its true. YNWA

He's not started in 9 games for us this season, we've won 8 and lost 1, says it all really.

Why would you feel Shelvey does better on the right than Hendo? From memory, Shelvey played 10 minutes on the right wing and had about as much impact as an oxygen atom does on a brick wall.

TSP

Adam is a great squad player imo. He can play a variety of positions if needs be, would never start him though.

Agreed. a very good squad player and I think that will be his role next season, especially with Lucas back.

Not even a good squad player and I'm not being nasty. He really has been poor this season I don't think there is much debate about that.

Adam has been played in a unfamiliar role since Lucas has been out and has hit a poor run of form. I think he's still got a lot to give the side.

Also, remember that until Lucas's injury, Adam had 2 goals and 9 assists.

TSP

Thank god!! just runs into people and gives the ball away constantly

ed is it true a 17year old Man city player is on loan at Portsmouth?only ask because i've always seen on this site that young players cant go on loan till they are 18 years of age!cheers... {Ed001's Note - yes, but Pompey have special dispensation to sign players as they can't anyway due to their financial state. Due to having a squad smaller than 14 players, they were allowed to take players on loan, so long as the loaning club were willing to pay all their wages. I would assume they waived the age rules as well.}

Eds Is it true Lucas barrios has agreed to go to china?

Thanks
Jman {Ed002's Note - Guangzhou have contacted Dortmund but have not yet made an offer I am told.}

Barrios is a player I like and thought we should be targeting although he seems quite out of form this season. Do you think he would suit us as a goalscorer Ed?

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg, Espanyol and Sevilla were known to be interested but Guangzhou are soon to formalise a proposal to Dortmund following on from discussions that will allow them to put an already well publicized financial package to the player himself. Earlier in the season Barrios struggled to get back in the starting line-up after injury and was not happy with sitting on the bench - something he made abundantly clear. Dortmund are looking for two replacement strikers as they already know that there is interest in Lewandowski and have target set as Polter and Welliton. As I have said previously, I think there is a chance (but not great) of Lewandowski moving to Liverpool.}

Ed, do you think there would be any chance of Sterling getting a chance in the run in to the end of the season? Would love to see him get a chance! {Ed002's Note - Use the search function please.}

23 Mar 2012 10:42:39
It would be good to say the season has gone well under Kenny but it hasn't. FSG have a record of stripping out the old and rebuilding for the future and I have to say that time has come now. We need a long term replacement for Stevie and we need a striker and a winger who can play either side. I don't see Wilson ever working out and with JC getting on a new centre back as well. I remember that we spoke to Deschamp before Kenny and I think we should go back to him again now. Geoff Shaw

Well thats why they are working on the academy. Thats the best way to get long term replacements for our bests. Hoping to see some of them getting involved, soon. YNWA

Why do we need a new centre back when Agger and Skrtel are in their mid 20's and Coates and Wisdom are 21 and 18 respectively? I think that defence is one area where we are pretty much set.

Deschamps? You mean the manager of one of Frances richest clubs who are 20 points off the top in 9th place?

I wish your knowledge and intelligence matched the quality of your grammar.

Kelly and Coates are CB's by trade so no need to panic, Wilson will be gone in the Summer along with a few others like Darby etc who have failed to make an impact. Robinson and Flannagan are the ones were looking to keep! I have to agree with the OP - I think Dalglish should leave at the end of the season. He's come in and ended our cup drought and we have the FA cup to play for too. However I think our priority needs to be the league and getting those champs league places. I think we really need a right winger though, in the mould of lennon, jarvis or similar. I'd love to see Hulk in the prem but we have no chance of him, and only a slim chance of hazard, tello, affelay, navas etc. so think it will be british buys aain...

I think we need to have patience in kenny, he aint been here long and the premiership is harder to crack than ever! We arent looking for a quick fix, we are looking to build a formidable squad over the next couple of seasons that can challenge the very top of the table each season. In Kenny We Trust! YNWA

You silly boy.

Mourinho is the man who can bring success to the club but I doubt he is interested to come here due to the purse of the owners here. We should have stick with Rafa in the first place. He would have done a better job than Kenny. Yes he failed to bring us the title that we have been yearning for but at least he gave us considerable success in Europe. Even Fergie took a few years to bring success to MU. If given the financial support unlike the period under the previous owners, I am sure he will bring us success in due time.Kenny was a success during the 80's and 90's but not any more. Rafa has alot of passion for this club and he is the only available option we have. If we can give Kenny another chance after 20 years, why not give Rafa another shot with the team,perhaps with a 2 years contract for a start.

Danny wilson is a very very good CB, watch him develop. i have friends who are rangers fans who are still dissapointed they lost him and for so cheap. he will blossom

Who is this person calling for rafa back... Claiming the old owners never spent any money..... Are you even a football fan

The old owners bought mascherano for around 18 mil, Johnson for 17, Torres for 22 etc. etc.

While tags helped to demolish our club with the help of the old yanks, like he did with Valencia and inter... Who after winning the treble under mourinho 6 months earlier, claimed the team were no goo enough and needed a big investment in the team.

No more bring back rafa rubbish please!

I agree, we need a striker, winger and people to replace legends like Stevie G and Jamie Carragher. Maybe the striker and winnger will come in the summer, the replacements for the two legends will take time.

However, our defence is fine.

I wouldn't have Deschamp as manager. I don't rate him at all. Our current manager is a winner, the problem is the players aren't doing it on the pitch (again).

Come the summer he needs to be brutal and swing the axe to get rid some of the rubbish he has signed. Players that were good at their previous clubs but don't look bothered or don't play the way they need to at Anfield.

Until then, back the team and the manager.

Gaz1975.

Your too hasty he has only had a season in charge. hendo was bought to replace gerrard and coates to replace carragher. i agree that a striker and a winger and creative midfielder is needed though. if we do the double we will be able to attract better players now

We do not need centre backs, we do need striker and winger everyone knows that, all those that are calling for Kenny's head try remembering where we were this time last year and to those who want Rafa back I shall never forgive him for forcing Alonso out of the club which started the slide we were in before Kenny came back.

Any of the eds, can I have your opinion on wilson? Personally I think he is very good, but was never given the chance to play in central defence. Hopefully the club will keep him and use him in the Europa league. Do you think he isn't good enough to make the grades at lfc? {Ed001's Note - I am not convinced he is good enough, he lacks the quality on the ball I think we need.}

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Who is this person calling for rafa back... Claiming the old owners never spent any money..... Are you even a football fan

"The old owners bought mascherano for around 18 mil, Johnson for 17, Torres for 22 etc. etc."
Mascherano - captain of Argentina sold for 12 million (could have been more though)
Torres - sold for 50 million, you may slate him, but u know what he was for us. He scored in the Euro final and was a member of the World Cup champion team
Johnson - England's first choice right back and a lot of big clubs are after him

Now please comapre these profiles and
PS: still you have Lucas, Kuyt, Agger, Skrtel. You do not have to criticise Rafa to worship Kenny

The bit I don't understand is he seems to have changed his preferred style of players since he can back. Houghton & Beardsley were such creative cultured players, Barnes was tricky and skillful. We have Adam, Henderson & Downing who are so far remove from those players it's untrue. Yet he is still trying the build from the back style of football.

I hate saying it but I think he has been out of the game for too long or has a piss poor set of scouts, who are convincing him that certain player are better than they are. Either way a change needs to be made either management or scouts.

Players and style are just not suited.

If the owners care about stats then they will look at the 1.83 points Kenny got per game last year and wonder why after the summer spending we are now onloy getting 1.44 points a game. If we were still getting 1.83 we would be third.

Anything on Sahin or Afelaay? Would they even be available this summer? I'd assume so given their situations. Both talented players, both potential world beaters and exactly the positions we need (creative midfielder and a winger). I know Sahins struggled with injury but Madrid being Madrid will strengthen in the summer further pushing him away from the 1st team surely? Can't see him getting in over the likes of Xabi etc.... So anything on these two at all? Not even on our behalf surely clubs have shown some interest in them?

Nice one eds
Nico {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with Juventus) or a return to Germany would come before any thoughts of a move to England. I suspect that with Affelay out injured pretty much all of this season it is unlikely that Liverpool would take a chance on him before he could prove his fitness. However, he will likely be available in the summer.}

Liverpool's highly-rated winger Raheem Sterling, 17, could quit in the summer over frustration at a lack of first-team opportunities. His mum is also wanting him to return to his native London and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on events concerning the youngster. (Daily Mirror)

We now have nothing to lose put Raheem Coady and morgan on the bench and give them some game time but while we are doing that lets see some of our not performing first team in the reserves

Seriously! The boy is 17 and is upset at not being in the 1st team. What is going on with these kids, yes he's a very promising talent but what right has he to be upset at not being in the 1st team, he's not even an adult yet! If that's the lads attitude then back your bags son and go learn your trade elsewhere, you are not bigger than the club!

Scarface

If he's quitting Liverpool to play regular first team football, then he's hardly going to get any by joining Spurs is he? Bit of a stupid article really.

Good point, he is more likely to get a game for us than spurs, papers have nothing better to write about!!!

Remember that this is by the mirror, it is likely rubbish! Also, in the article it says sterling was annoyed at not being allowed to go out on loan, but he legally cannot go out on loan until he is 18! It is complete rubbish, nothing to worry about

He can legally go out on loan...... City's Rekik is on loan at Portsmouth and is 17.

It also said in the article that his mother was the one that wanted him to leave Liverpool...poor journalism and pure pony imo !
Big dawg

Theres more to it than that, if it were purely footballing reasons the lad would be fine! yes his head had been turned & he would like to get away!

I think the last reply was from Raheem's mum.

Raheem was born and raised in Maverley, Jamaica. How could London be his 'native' city?

Martin

Considering he was at QPR since he was 8, i'd imagine he's pretty fond of the place.

Hows he frustrated, hes 17, what other 17 year old is getting first 11 games. not even messi was, turn it in and give him a chance to grow some pubic hair before he gets a game

He is 17 and at the bottom of the pecking order. If this is his attitude, and it's not just been made up by the paper, then do we really want him playing for us with that kind of an attitude?

He should do his talking on the pitch and then see what happens. I am sure if he is good enough he will soon be in the first team at some point.

If it was the financial times writing this then I understand everyone's frustration here. Bu the mirror writes it and everyone has a go at the kid? Please look at yourselves, and you are supposed to be supporters of the club.

He scored against Arsenal, so his head ain't certainly down , this is just paper bulls**t, they know he's one of a lot of promising youngster so the media try to unsettle him , no unsettling of Ravel Morrison when he was at United at the time however

The Mirror is as bad as the sun - Never believe what it prints!! All Liverpool fans shouldn't buy or read it!!

great website. i just can't talk about this season's performance because, it has been a disaster. are we interested in the villareal striker giuseppi?. i know he has been out with an injury but he is better than the players that we currently have such as carroll, adam etc. how much would we have to spend?. thank u {Ed002's Note - Giuseppe Rossi will leave Villareal in the summer and a move to Italy is most likely if he leaves Spain. Barcelona may be interested.}

How has it been a disaster. Weve won a cup, semis of the fa cup, granted we're 7th but we're in europe next season and i reckon its plain for the management to see our squad isnt deep enough. Time to blood the likes of stirling and coady in my opinion

23 Mar 2012 07:07:03
hey eds , is liverpool interested in Giuseppe Rossi beacuse he seems to be like a perfect replacement for kuyt ,were he to leave ? Also rossi's agent recently said that he could me available for 17 million (i do know that he is current injured).........RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Giuseppe Rossi will leave Villareal in the summer and a move to Italy is most likely if he leaves Spain. Barcelona may be interested.}
