Gents, after hearing a few baines rumours this morning there seems to be an influx of simon kjaer rumours now. Solid centre back i agree but after getting put straight by the ed today we have probably got better lads already on the books(coady/ wilson) not too sure on ayala tho ed! if baines does come in i don't think we will sign a CB as wilson will push carra n agger for a start. Lets hope he gets another chance tomorow.

Ed what are your thought on Aguero? Do you think he'll still be at Atl tico by the end of the summer? Hard to tell but your gut feeling. Have a bad feeling he'll go to Chelsea. Would love us to sign him but I don't think we have the budget for him. {ed's note - I actually think he might be at the other side of Madrid come next season. I really can't see him staying at Atletico though.}

Just thought id let everyone know carlos tevez was in liverpool city centre today at half 4, walked past him and his girl. Just thought it was interesting he was in liverpool on the day mancini says hes not sure if he will stay. Btw he wasnt wearing a snood but he did have a scarf on.

Ed do you think we are still interested in loic remy, he looks very good and would be a great addition to the squad {ed's note - I haven't heard anything further on him, he does look like he would be a decent player to cover right wing and back up striker positions it must be said. I will see what the editor with the French football connections has to say about him, something might have slipped out that end with regards to him.}

Liverpool scouts have watched the 20-year-old extensively this season and assistant manager Sammy Lee made another check last Saturday as Barton helped Preston recover a draw against QPR.

Hi ed. I'm more of a reader than poster but i would like to know if if Liverpool have registered any interest in Edinson Cavani? He has been in prolific form this season and i think he would fit perfectly into a 4-3-3 with Carroll up front and him and Suarez out wide. Or if not us, what clubs might try to get him? {ed's note - I had heard one or both Milan teams were interested in him, but I have not heard of any Liverpool interest, but I am double checking now.}

ok thanks. but your answer causes me to ask another question. will pato be leaving milan? he seems to be spending more and more time on the bench nowdays with ibrahimovic, robinho and cassano all playing. were cavani to join it would alienate pato even more. or do milan not plan on making ibrahimovic's move permanent? not that i think we would have any chance of getting pato. i would guess if he was likely to leave he would go to city, chelsea or madrid.

i hope we sign charlie adam asap then the season ends, he is the type of player we need. also there has been alot of talk between wingers such as turan and young, but do u think michel bastos wuld be good i don't see alot of intrest for him be other teams. one more question, are we still intrested in honda or has tht gone now hodgson is gone?

what to u fink ed? {ed's note - Bastos looks an excellent player, but I wouldn't buy a player from Lyon as they always force the buyers to pay through the nose. The Honda interest was never due to Roy Hodgson, we still had reps in Qatar speaking to his people at the end of January, long after Roy had gone. But that does not mean we will necessarily sign him, after all we bid for a lot of players in January and only actually signed two, I expect a similar summer window.}

The three players I think we will deffo sign are Mvilla, Marveaux and Gervinho. I am not totally convinced Kenny needs a left back after watching Wilson play there last week.Kenny will give certain players an opportunity to show him they are worth a place in his future plans.I have heard that Glen Johnson will be leaving and that iswhy Kenny as giving Kelly the Right back spot.

Ed, are you talking about adam or baines mate?Are we interested in both? {ed's note - Adam is likely, Baines would join us, Everton need the money, but it is unlikely to happen at the moment, long way to go until the window opens though so it could all change.}

ED, SAMMY LEE, at times this season we have looked the unfitest team in the division, will KK keep him as his assistant if he gets the job, because i would love phil thompson or someone like that etc. I don't rate sammy lee at all mate and i know the players don't think much of him. Why do people keep posting liverpool want a centre back??
We need a left back badly, then Johnson can go back to playing right back, and Kelly can go to centre back as along term replacement for Carragher to partner Agger. With Wilson and Carra as subs.

Hardly gonna happen. Kayal gave an interview recently where he said that he felt at home in glasgow and wants to spend the next 5-6 years at the club.

People are saying that he was scouting at the Old Firm Derby, i doubt it but maybe he was, he was probably at the match because of his connection with Celtic.

I'd much rather us to sign some proven talent like:
Ashley Young ( 18m should be sufficient I'd say)
Niko Kranjcar ( 12m and not a penny more)

On of the above with marveaux would be a good summer
Charlie Adam should complete his move fairly early in the window for 8.5m

Leighton baines, arda turn, Connor wickham. All quality players (obviously wickham isn't the finished product), all Liverpool fans (not of major importance but could help during acquisition) and should all be available for around 40mil combined. Add marvaex to that providing his recovery goes as planned and then get rid of 2-4 of the older high earners eg jovanovic, poulsen, Cole, maxi, kyriagos.
Obviously more players will leave like players out on loan and youngsters unable to make the grade but they won't have a direct bearing on the current squad.

So we are lookin at 3-4 in and 2-4 (squad players) out followed by the likes of aquaman, konk, insua and youngsters.

Depending on how all this movement affects the net spend and wage structure I would maybe expect to see another center mid to arrive providing we can identify the right man. Don't no if kenny still fancies Adam but is be made up if either he or benega were to arrive.

Anyone got any thoughts on this. I know its compiled of wishful thinkin and speculation but I don't see why it wouldn't all be possible.

Gents, just had a text of a couple my mates and a rumour is spreading round liverpool like wildfire that we have tried to get leighton baines signed on a pre contract after offering everton 12 million. this offer was refused point blank! I think if we went a bit higher they would accept due to immense financial difficulty at their small club!

Would be an excellent signing and could fit in to flat back four or as a wing back a'la clarkes new formation!

I got this link on the liverpool home website on transfer rumours it says that we might sign lb taye taiwo do u think they r legit if so i will be pretty excited

Reports in Nigeria have claimed that some of Europe's top clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham have been following the progress of Marseille left back Taye Taiwo.


Liverpool apparently sent talent scout Damien Comilli to watch Taiwo in the recent friendly against Sierra Leone and view the player as a ready made fit for the problem left back position.

The Nigerian Tribune also claims that Tottenham have watched the player along with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus, but their headline made it clear that it is Liverpool that are the clear front runners.

It would be strange for Tottenham to go after the player, they already appear to be set with left sided players, the same to a certain degree applies to Manchester United, the same however cannot be said about Manchester City, they will but almost anybody.

One thing is becoming clear, that Liverpool will be very active in the transfer window come the summer as they continue the rebuilding process at Anfield.

think some sobering up is needed

1. do we really have to rival (even if we could) s**teh, for spending, they themselves have proven you can't buy a team assemble it with megastars on huge contracts and get instant sucess. . . fact of the matter is(and many s**teh fans have and will agree), with all their spending the team does not perform the way its expected to, infact if you took tevez out of the equasion they'd be in dire trouble and mancini would be back in italy, Now don't get me wrong having the spending power is a great situation to be in, but none of this change the entire squad season in season out, rubbish, IT does not work. citeh have had loads of money since sven was in charge!(any titles, cups to speak of etc?

3 KING KENNY ONE YEAR ROLLING CONTRACT my arse!, please don't listen to silly rumoursand pass em on, if hodgson got three, why would nesv/ etc giv a man who has galvanized the squad and turned our entire season around, why would we pay top dollar for a footballer(s) who another manager may not want, bad business !, as even if we tried to sell carol and suarez the only club who would pay near wot we did is citeh/ chavski. .all have too many strikers as is.

three quality players ( i expect c. adam in this), and maybe two up and coming youngsters , we are meant to be reducing the squad not putting more in, changing deadwood for quality. and the prospects to get 3 year contracts instead of the four and five year ones the previous regime loved so much, mainly because we were cr*p @ negotiations @ that time.

Hi ed and all lfc fans Taiwo is on his way to anfield in the summer rumour has it taiwo had made his mind up and is leaving as he has refused to sign a new contract as well.A second good addition. Ed do you think he would do well I only remember him vaguely when he played against us in the 2008 champions league.
