Nuri Sahin wil be confirmed by noon tomorrow,Adam to Sunderland 6 million Spearing to forest 2 million.

Clee Red

That would be perfect if true.

Maybe I heard wrong but hasn't Sahin already been signed by arsenal? Eds?

BaltimoRed {Ed001's Note - he has not given a decision yet.}

Hope this us true

I would love it, but think he will only come to Liverpool if we are his only option (ie Arsenal can't agree terms, and Spurs don't do their usual and steal another player from under our noses!)

RedDen

If this happened I think I would jizz in my pants lol

Really wierd feelings about this one, we shouldn't be second/third choice and that hurts, Plus want him to be great but he reminds me so mmuch of Yossi, technically briliant but might not be big/strong enough for our league (yes i know he's more DMC and tougher, but can't see him launching players off the ball a la, Sissoko, masch or de jong

Arsenal Fan here would love Sahin to join us, but just want the whole saga to end because it's starting to p*** me off and so we can get on with other targets!!!

Good luck this season :)

Llanelli Gooner

Still really apprehensive about this whole Sahin saga. First we are on top, then it emerges he´d prefer Arsenal (CL football), whilst supposedly Mourinho and his posse are pressing for a move to Liverpool. Then a few days ago reports state the Arsenal deal is done and now all of a sudden... I believe he is good but as an LFC fan I´d rather that his decision about joining us was a wholehearted one. A lot of hassle for a kid who´s been benching it for a year with Real Madrid. I live in Germany and I remember his performances for Dortmund. He obv. has serious potential but i think this whole ordeal has been blown out of proportion by a kid who can´t make his mind up. I want hungry players!!!!

Noon has come and gone and still no announcement!

Awaiting test from his medical

Noon has come and gone. Still waiting....

Yeah still waiting... tut tut

Hi eds and everyone. On LFC tv they have just said rodgers has stated they should know about Sahin in next 24 hours. Have we got a chance. Follow u guys everyday but first time poster. Great job. {Ed001's Note - yes a chance, it is still down to him.}

23 Aug 2012 22:18:27
Sahin will sign tomorrow medical due around 1pm everything else William complete, of Carroll goes we will look to Sturridge only of Carroll goes newcastle and west ham are looking likely to bid for 17 but r waiting till deadline day

What Williams complete?

William? Do you mean Willian, the player Spurs and Chelsea are after and Liverpool have zero prospect of getting? Forgive me if you mean someone totally different called William.

Serena Williams (not Venus)

Total tosh! Why would West Ham wait until the final day? The complexity of the deal (if one were to be offered) by the 'cabbage-patch' lookalikes at WHU would mean a deal would need to be with us from now. AND WHY would BR be telling fibs when he gave AC an ultimatum to decide on his own status by today (Friday 24th August)??

No Kenneth Williams so Brendan can Carry On the good work.

Do apologise I wrote it on my iPhone haha, ment to say "has been" don't know where William come from

#LFC now in pole position to sign Nuri Sahin on loan from Real Madrid. After this morning's glimmer of hope, LFC much more positive

Rodgers expects to find out tomorrow if we've got him.

23 Aug 2012 21:54:29
Liverpool will sign sahin by saturday if all goes well

23 Aug 2012 20:28:07
my sources confirm shelvey, adam and spearing to leave with an unconfirmed cm coming in, proberably under the age of 23. also, sturridge will be a deadline day signing.
Watch this space...

Well your source is wrong, letting 4CMs go in one window WONT happen

Absolutely no chance of Shelvey leaving unless it is a loan deal.

Have you seen Liverpool play? Shelvey won't be sold! Make up something believable!

Is that the same Shelvey that signed a new long term contract this summer?

Sounded believeable until you mentioned shelvey. he wont be going anywhere, rodgers likes him

Please be true these have had a aweful night they dont fit in

Don't need a source to see that one coming, those three gave more passes to Hearts players than Liverpool players , extremely surprised at how poor Jonjo played? None of our midfield took control...

Shelvey's going nowhere
Monkey The Red

Adam and spearing maybe but shelvey, no chance

Rik int Wirral

Shelvey whose just signed a new contract??

Hoola

Y the hell would we sell shelvey?! hes on of our best young mids

Shelvey to leave after recently signing a new long term contract ?

I don't think so

Hans

Shelvey should go on loan because he needs to play and hes not good enough for liverpool yet was awful tonight

What the space in your empty head, get real kid

Kind regards

The southern red

Why would we get rid of Shelvey? He's got a lot of potential.

Dan

Are your sources Liverpool-rumours.co.uk by any chance?

I won't mind Adam & Spearing leaving. But I don't think Shelvey will be leaving. He just signed a new contract & I think he can become a star one day.

BROCK LESNAR

Where was Carroll tonite

Yea I hope this is true, that we will sell Adam and Spearing. And I hope wee keep Shelvey in this uear squad or been loan out. I hope wee buy this players before 1 of september; Herrera from Mexico, Sahrin on loan from real madrid, buy one of Scott Sinclair (Swansea) or Gaston Ramirez (Bologna) and buy Sturridge from Chelsea. And sell Wilson and Doni from the squad.

"where was Carroll tonite"? Lamplighter?

One poor game and some LFC fans want Shelvey sold?? ... these are the worst kind of fickle Liverpool fans, in fact they're not real Liverpool fans they're just morons and an embarrassment to the club.

Sell adam n spearing.we have joe allen.he's much better than them.

23 Aug 2012 20:16:09
I hear Sahin will be confirmed to Liverpool tonight or tomorrow.

PM

I heard that too in France.

Whats ur source

Not a chance

Been hearing that Sahin was going to sign everyday since the start of July... Getting bored of him now and will believe it when I see it.

Damion

Unfortunately he is Arsenal bound

TrueRed73

I think you heard wrong. But we'll wait & see.

BROCK LESNAR

Confirmed to liverpool that hes going to arsenal zzzz

Just been watchin lfc tv and they quoted rogers saying there in advanced talks and to expect news in the next 24 hours so sounds positive

According to Rodgers he expercts to hear tomorrow if we've got him. I think he's going to come here and turn down Arsenal.

Arsenal have pulled out and Real Madrid have agreed the move with us. Now its just down to the medical

Looks like this guy had it right

HI eds

just a question our owners have always said that they will pay for a player if he fits the bill..

leandro damiao is young and cannot be on a high wage bill as spurs are after him and they have a similar wage structure to us...

rumors of a 20million pound fee have been thrown around aswell. now if we can clearly see we need a goalscorer why do we not bid for these sorts of players?
great talent and i have no doubt his value will only rise.

thanks
Lyon King {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao remains of interest to several clubs including Spurs, PSG, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan and Juventus. Lyon, Arsenal and Barcelona seem to have dropped any interest they had in the player. January 2013 may be a more likely time to move than the summer although with rejected bids from Spurs and PSG. Roma or Juventus may force a summer move - and these remain the most likely destinations right now. So no acceptable bids but perhaps a flurry of activity will happen. His club value him at an unrealistic 60M euro and don't want to sell.}

Don`t be fooled by the owners. yes they saved us from possibly from going bust. but they didn`t do it for the love of the club or to make us great again. it`s purely to make money. they have spent money on transfers but they have also sold players and reduced the wage bill massively. they have also got massive kit deals with standard and warrior. sponsorship deals with car firms and air lines. they have never thought about building a new stadium (fact) they will expand anfield and sell the naming rights again (fact). so if a big name with fee comes around again henry and co would not pay for him if he fits the bill. so believe me the owners will and he made more than they have laid out.

23 Aug 2012 16:26:16
Any interest or chance of us going for loric Remy at Marseille they need money so might sell {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no interest in Remy.}

We should go for him, he is class.

He is often injured.

23 Aug 2012 15:45:01
Sunderland launch 6.25m bid for Charlie Adam, Ian Ayre has left it to BR as 7m will bring Dyer in from Swansea as replacement for Maxi/Bellamy out on the left.

Hope it is true but I would,nt put a bet on it

If that's true, then bye bye Charlie.

Amazing if it happens

A) dyer is definitely a right winger
b) why are we only linked with swansea players for god's sake? If br was that intimate with them he woulda stayed there

Please let Adam go! Shelvey is much better anyway!

Despite the views of some uneducated nerds who troll this site, Charlie Adams is still a very good player who can do a good job for LFC

Get off his back, please

Tel 1949

Christ I hope Adam goes, likeable enough lad but dont think he is at the level we need. But for the love of god no more Swansea players!

Dyer definately plays on the left.

Are you sure you don't mean Sinclair?

Adam gives away too many fouls. Let him go.

Tel 1949. Charlie Adam had a season to prove that he could do a job for Liverpool and succeeded only in proving that no, in fact he can't. That doesn't make the rest of us uneducated trolls; it simply makes you a little behind the times.

6.25, be nice, i would take 4mil.

What are we doing are we after Swansea's first team?

Are we trying to be Swansea ? Besides, does he have a buy out clause, has any other team bid ? What about 'the' agreement ?

Bit unfair, Adam is a good player and had injury towards the end of last season. Everyone seemed to want to give King Kenny another season to turn around his poor one, yet no one is doing the same for our players.
Besides, BR has stated he likes Adam, rates him and even tried to sign him himself.

Dyer definitely definitely plays on the right. Sinclair plays (played if he goes to City) on the left with Graham in the middle.

Dyer is quick with good technique personally if a player has ability I could care less where he comes from on charlie Adam in this months lfc magazine terry mc dermott says he took him & ray Kennedy 2 years to settle. Paisley's genius

Lift it while its still there!....and get him to pack Cole, Spearing and Doni in his suitcase.

suits BR style less than Carroll

Shushyboy

Personally I would be sad to see Adam go, I agree that he gives to many fouls away but his passing is exceptional, however with Lucas, Gerrard and Allen I think he would not make the starting 11, as for shelvey he's not good enough to make our reserves! Also would prefer to see Dempsey come in instead of Sinclair

Greg

Shelvey isn't good enough to make our reserves? Greg get your head out of your ass and watch a match or two. Shelvey was exceptional in preseason and should be pushing for a starting spot through the season.

Greg, Shelvey is the big bald bloke who is really coming on. Just thought I would point him out as your obviously watching someone else!!

Personally I think Adam had a bad season last year but I'm convinced he doesn't fit into Rodgers philosophy..

It's about winning the ball back after 7 seconds - if Adam's fouls (and he does a lot) then this releases the pressure on the team, also IMO he's not mobile enough.

Remember Rodgers said he wanted Adam for Reading (when they were in the championship) he will do well for someone but not in our style of play or be first choice (I'd rather give Shelvey and Henderson the experience).

Hoola

For CA, I dun mind he move on this summer. He gives away fouls too easily and seems to have a habit of collecting cards.

Shelvey is good. I think he deserves more first team action. The same goes to Sterling. Too bad we sold Tom Ince. Otherwise, he could come in handy in the wings.

Greg you obviously don't follow LFC. Shelvey will be an exceptional player for us this season and will be in the first team for years to come!

Why would we want adam he is rubbish

Charle adam iis to slow! end off!

Surprising that none of the 'bigger' teams have tried to sign Dyer...he is a very capable player that is young and improving

We paid over the odds because Oyston believed the fergie hype, decent dead ball but I would rate Gerrard, Fab A, Enrique, Agger and Shelvey as good if not better (yep I know Aurelio has left). Charlie looks great in patches, but he's a central midfielder and for some reason he thinks it's ok to go missing in a liverpool shirt, summary - all the skills, no application. Comparison, big Jan, just nowhere near as good.

To be fair the "bigger" teams try to sign quality players liverpool fester the recently promoted or mid table youngsters which is the reason lfc are so far behind the big teams

Hi Ed's different sort of question today not regarding transfers but what would be the process off attempting to become a football scout of some sort. Like do you have to take coaching badges for thishow to approach this area of work ect, and what else, thats if you lot know haha..

cheers
BenO' {Ed002's Note - Scouts are typically those who have been involved with the game for many years, particularly at the grass roots level in a particular area. Others are ex-players and managers. The majority of scouts do not work for one club alone. There is no need for coaching badges.}

Becoming an understudy for a scout help in any sort of way?
And obviously it would help if you have been in the game before in some sort of way?
Thanks for the quick reply..
Cheers
BenO'

First you have got to go to beavers, then you can become a scout when you are a bigboy.

You should do what Liverpool do and present player stats off fifa

Who from liverpool thought fifa stats would be a good idea.. thats poor.

BenO'

Just become a scout for Tottenham. All you have to do is see who Liverpool are after, then tell the Spurs manager to go for him aswell.

Ed, can you become an understudy which would no doubt help, surely?

BenO' {Ed002's Note - A scout doesn't have an understudy - you are confusing it with an actor.}

So, Ed002, if a scout doesn't work for any particular club does this mean they are either paid a finders fee or on short term contracts?

dmedly {Ed002's Note - Many are unpaid. Some clubs would pay a fee if they are responding to a particular need and have expenses to cover. Some are on the employ of clubs of course. I can think of a couple of ex referees who scout as well.}

There is no qualification to become a scout, most scouts are people with a coaching or playing background, ie people who have shown an understanding of the game. Most scouting is done at a local level first, here in Ireland most pl clubs have a local coach keeping an eye out. If he has a proven track record his recommendations will be offered a trial. If the club sign his recommended player he will get a small fee. I have recommended two players to a London premier league club, they sent a scout they trust from Dublin to run an eye over them and he recommended them for trial. If they are signed I'll get a small fee. Next time they might take my word for it and take the recommended player on trial without a second opinion. If I then gain a proven track record I will become the second opinion scout with the hope eventually of being offered a full time job scouting. It's a long an arduous journey and at this level you are only as good as your last recommendation. A friend of mine was the final call for recommendations for sheff weds in the 90's, he told the club collymore had no ability about two weeks before he signed for forest. He was never asked his opinion again.
Good luck
Dunnerpool

My best friends father was a scout for Real Madrid ( their longest serving employee of sorts until he retired ) He played professionally in Spain for a while and then coached a local side. No qualifications if im correct but a passion or the game ( and i do mean a passion ) and an eye to spot young tallent. He found Madrid a fair few players over the years.

Forgot to add he knew Rafa Benitez well at the youth set up at Real and always rated him very highly

Haha Cheers people

BenO'

I have been informed by a reliable contact that Agger will join City with A.Johnson coming the other way.

We have asked City to put in a £5m bid for Sinclair in order for us to be able to bid for him, as Rodgers cannot bid for him unless another team does (you will all know Rodgers has an agreement with Swansea regarding Swansea players).

Carroll will join Newcastle possibly late on, with Coloccini set to join us as a replacement for Agger.

Another Striker will be bought, most likely a deadline day transfer but I am not sure who it will be. I also do not know The figures involved in these transfers as most are still ongoing negotiations.

Your comments and opinions are welcome!

Red Lee

That's a lovely work of fiction...

Which other team bid for allen?

I doubt very much you would welcome my comments,so I'll hold fire...

Marshy

Getting another team to bid for a player just so we can bid for him. isn't that against some regulation?

KMK and Red Lee - same person, two different and yet VERY similar comments.

Sounds very far from the truth

Sounds like convoluted rubbish to me.

TSP

Utter tosh,simonpw

He had a buy out clause which was met by Lpool

Where has this nonsense come from?

What a load of bull.

Allen had a £15m buy out clause, therefore the agreement became irrelevant in that situation.

Cheers, Red Lee

Why would coloccini wanna come to us ?

About as true as Freddie flintoff bear wrestling David cameron

So we told man c to put a bid in so we can buy him, get a grip . I also read the other day that we told Sunderland not to bid on a Johnson so we can get him. Are the yous people deluded. Do u honestly think we have control over other pl teams. All teams act for themselves.

eire red

Rubbish he wont go anywere:)
sterlin red

Why would we buy both Sinclair AND Johnson when we have Assaidi, Downing and Borini vying for the wide forward positions - we need one more wide man yes, but not two.

BS. I believe Sinclair statement could be true but we wont have said that to City. Allen had a clause which was met but Sinclair and the rest we need another club to make a bid as part of the agreement. I personally would prefer him to Walcott and would be much cheaper. But I still feel sterling will hold his own against them as he a similar player. can see him been sent on loan to Swansea in january as part of the deal. Collocini will not be moving to us as Agger is staying. Agger if he leaves will not involve a swap deal and cash. it will take up to 30million bid to get him. then a 10million fee for johnson if we want him.

Rubbish. We are not good enough to let Carroll go. He has to stay. Agger is staying. Collocini is average at best. Adam Johnson would answer our problem out wide.

Seems like a pointless execise in terms of added quality to the squad

In terms of generating additional transfers funds after signing on fees / agents fees / wages - is it really worth it

Then again we have witnessed more bizarre dealings at Lfc

Leam Red

What an absolute LOAD OF OLD TOSH!

Tel 1949

Absolute crap - Agger wants to stay, Liverpool want him to stay, enough said!!

If you believe that a football club would bid for a player at another club so they could make the transfer possible for our club then you are a fantasist. Dream on fella. This is the rumour page not the dodgy rumours page. Also read BRs comments re: AC then go back to dreamworld!!

Han Solo...is that you again??

Erik_Oslo

That was Tottenham the 1 bid on Allen came from.

You're a 'man of farce' Lee!

I totally believe this post........... I also believe Elvis is alive.

I stopped reading at A. Johnson...

Ya and prince harry not one of the lads ,still the same ,open them royle ar*e cheek s spred them an look deep ""what do you see ""thats right hahah

BR said in his press conference: Agger is staying, AC is staying, so is Charlie Adam. So, where do you get the idea that Agger and AC are going?

Comments + opinions.......rubbish!

Typical fanfiction.
The whole "they get this player and then we get that player in return" thing is ever popular with rumoursmiths. Happens very rarely in reality. And here we have it twice. Not likely.

The comment about not needing AJ and Sinclair, as we have Assaidi, Downing and Fabio.... I read that Sinclair IS the centre forward option, not sure if he used to play that for Chelsea youth?... The BR connection? I doubt we would request another team bid on a player so we can, but it is all about negotiation. If we really don't want to sell Agger, but would for the best deal for LFC...
Although I think this comment is not going to happen, it sounds possible. We've apparently looked at Colocini before, when Newcastle were relegated (and before joining Newcastle). BR has stated Carroll can go IF the best deal id for LFC.

Why would Colocini who was in every puindits team of the season go to you.

You need to stop playing football manager and your deluded.

huyton red

I rally don't rate Adam Johnson so please let's not sign him and Any Carroll is not that bad that he cant fit in to BR system ?

Lolllll love the Han Solo stuff

I would love a drag on what the poster's smoking...

ed002 is true that sahin has made another U-turn and is joining us? any new news about johnson and ramirez? i've heard that talks with southampton has stalled {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

This is what Sid Lowe tweeted about 30 mins ago: "Sahin: he wants to go to Ars. Mou doesnt want him but also reluctant to lose permanently and/or to a ChLg club, wld rather diff dstination "

Yeh it is true dailymail has announced lfc have moved ahead in the race for sahin as sahins agent flies to englands to come to anfield to discuss a possible deal and also according to a website ramirez deal has stooled

ESPNsoccernet reporting that, we are set to renew our interest in Sturridge.
Ed002, is this true?

THE SUMON VAI {Ed002's Note - If an acceptable offer is made Chelsea would not stand in his way but (a) as of Friday there had been no apprach to Chelsea, and (b) I would think Carroll would need to be sold to raise the money.}

Thought FSG were all about investing in young English players and strengthen the squad to compete...... Why are we not going for Sturidge if they have "money, forget 'bout it bada bing" Why are we not buying available young talent Mr Werner

Sturridge should not be an option, don't rate the lad too much ego and baggage. Had big chances at Man City and Chelsea but just has not cut it. Looks like a primadonna footballer who sulks his way out of the first team and eventually the club. Would rather keep Carroll than bring in this muppet.

Pauleyuk

I wouldn't pay any attention to what SUMON VAI says. A long with LDW (who was the worst of all) he spent the entire season screaming for Kenny to be sacked after every defeat or draw. Then when we won SUMON VAI and LDW went very quiet until we lost again and then they both came out the woodwork and screamed for Kenny to be sacked again. The word 'Legend' doesn't apply to many but it fits perfectly where our Kenny is concerned, he won a cup, nearly won the FA cup and got us back in Europe in one season.

Sturridge would be a gr8 signing for Liverpool, but seriously do not think Liverpool will get him..

Yeah I remember that. LDW who was (LucasDaWarrior last season) treated Kenny terribly for the entire season it was terrible the things they said about him. Some LFC fans were a disgrace last season to our King Kenny.

All this talk of Sturridge brings me back to the time when Torres was sold to Chelski. They wanted to give us some cash and Sturridge for Torres but noooooooooo...... we bought Carroll. Now Carroll out, Sturridge in.... Cool :)

Marca reporting sahin's Agent held talks with Liverpool yesterday and player now set to join Liverpool.

Recoill1975

This sahin saga is as exciting as a football match. totally end to end stuff. it reminds me the 4-4 and 1-1 draw with the gooners in the last few years.

No he has joined arsenal with a view to a £14m permanent move

I have read on a few sites now that his agent had talks with us and he has decide to join us. I really hope these reports are true.
Jackson87

Do we trust Marca?

I hope it's not just more rumours, sahin is a class act and we need someone of his creativity at the minute. Read it on marca myself and it said just to be finalised now... Fingers crossed.

Ian

What do you make of this new twist ed?
Should we take it with a pinch of salt?
TT {Ed019's Note - Yep}

Just read that aswell they recon it's because arsenal wanted a permanent deal where Madrid is just looking at a loan, which is what our offer is. Still don't quite beleive it but there was always a feeling we had a pretty good shout.

St08

As I understand (from reading accurate reports), Sahin preferred the move to Arsenal due to CL football and Wenger's persuasion, but the option-to-buy clause was a huge issue, as Arsenal want him signed permanently after the year loan (effectively a sale).

Madrid want the player to return after 1 year, and Sahin wants to fight for his place at Real next season. Liverpool are happy just to have him on a 1-year loan, with no promises to sign at the end of the loan. This sticking point is putting us now back in favor, and Madrid may only sanction a move to Liverpool - as they do not want to sell him for a knock-down fee, and Arsenal have pushed too hard for this.

Arsenal have not been able to close the deal, whilst we have one sitting on the table still with terms pretty much agreed from before Arsenal swooped in. Sahin preferred them to us because of CL football, but is happy to move to LFC for regular 1st team football for the year. Now his agent is talking with Liverpool again.

RC

Daily Mail are no confirming this report

Hope we dont get him , he does not want to come and we need players up for a difficult season .

Wow, didn't see that coming. I would be both surprised & happy if this happens.

THE SUMON VAI

Cant blame any footballer for wanting Champs league football, if true (not holdng breath) then all that matters is that he gives 100% and helps us to achieve at least 4th spot as we will strugggle to do so without the xtra quality players like him will bring to our squad.

R2TB

Tbh, I dont see Arsenal not signing him anymore just because they cant have the option to buy him at the end of the season. They can always sign him on loan and go after him at the end, pretty much like how spurs went and bought Adebayor on a permanent. But if Arsenal were so fussy as refusing to sign him unless they had the option to buy, then Brendan by all means please sign the fella.
DAni

Know one knows who to believe Marca are saying this but SSN in Germany say he has passed his medical at Arsenal and is ready to sign his year loan contract.
Skurks

Agree with the sentiments displayed above, if we're his second choice I'm not sure I want him in our kit.

Totally agree with dani... FSG should be pulling all out the hat to get sahin,, everything could change in 12 months. We should just be getting him into the squad then go from there get into his head to ask real for him to move make his life so he doesn't want to go back to real, plus andy carol IMO should be loaned out not sold he has petenial for other type football if rodges doesn't succeed then we should have the option to bring him back, we loosing to much money to just sell him without manager proving he will cut the managers job for us..

Smells like another Aquillani!

I don't understand why people have clicked unbelievable to this rumour. Marca are reporting this so the person who has posted this is telling the truth. His rumour is about what Marca are saying, it is not about wether Sahin is going to join us or not?

The permanent deal was not the biggest issue it seems. There seems to be an issue with the holding midfield situation where Arsenal only has Diaby and Frimpong is not ready. Sahin can't play in that position and he has to contest with players like Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere (when he is fit), Oxlade, Ramsey, Walcott and Arshavin. Also Arsene won't give Sahin field time if the player is not going to be in his roster next season (why train someone part time?).

That's why Sahin has asked for 1st team guarantee and not as squad player in the loan deal. It seems Liverpool can give that and it sways to LFC's way.

Arsenal is still in the driving seat on this as they can agree with the terms but it seems that Wenger has cooled off this piece of deal and is looking for a holding midfielder as a priority.

The agent was furious about this and is now forcing Arsenal's hand by talking to LFC. So it's a showdown and it's now in Arsenal's hands. Give in to "1st team guarantee" + "no permanent deal" (which now reports say Arsenal can go for 1st refusal should Sahin wants to leave RM) or say bye-bye to the deal.

Not sure about the deadline but they want this done before they kick ball this weekend. It's a showdown now!

If Real Madrid only want him to go on loan then surely they would not want him playing in the CL as they are in the competition as well and would not want him playing for the opposition.

Ed002, With Liverpool FC still making efforts to secure further attacking options do you think there has or could be any interest in James McClean of Sunderland - excellent left sided midfielder, young, strong, v quick with a good eye for goal and creating assists; I know he is still young and highly regarded by Sunderland especially M O'Neill, he has undoubted potential already witnessed last season although probably wouldn't be cheap.

Also is there any interest regarding Chelsea's young striker Daniel Sturridge . Personally I think he too has potential although he does tend to play too much on his own, always looking to go it alone rather than been able to pick out a pass as a better option, although he too is quick and has the habit of scoring some fine goals. Just curious on these points.

SC Irish Red {Ed002's Note - I don't see interest in McLean. As of Friday Liverpool had not spoken to Chelsea about Sturridge at all.}

Wouldn't take the gift of McClean.... trouble maker and a Norn Iron turn coat.

Gibzkit.

Friday was nearly a week ago Ed, I posted earlier this week there were rumours we were interested, has anything happened since last Friday?

CoolhandLFC {Ed052's Note - Let's say no}

fabricio coloccini is off to city for 16m giving newcastle extra funds to land andy caroll for 18m. not in the no this is what im picking up from vibes due to the fact city are after a cb and newcastle are still in the pic for caroll so we will see. but you heard this here first

Why on earth would city pay 16m for Coloccini who is the wrong side of 30? Don't be daft.

Os Red

From the stories about what Buck has said about the Skunks! There is more chance of me buying big AC to be my biatch for the season than LFC selling them to Newcastle!!

Swap coloccini for carrol and sell agger?

NUFc are really not that bothered about signing Carroll. If they can get him on the cheap they will have him, but are looking for better quality. Carroll is only worth around £12-£15m maximum. For that kind of money they could get far better players.
If BR thinks that anyone will take AC off LFC for the money being quoted he is living in dream land.

Ok 16m may sound steep. like i said im not in the no and this isnt a rumor as such but im judging this by the fact city still havnt found that cb and lfc are trying to offload caroll, ignore the prices as i may have that slightly wrong lol but the transfers i feel will happen

I disagree mate, I can't see Coloccini going to Man City, they'll chase somebody younger. Coloccini is worth about 6-7m as a maximum, but probably more than that to Newcastle if you know what I mean. The guy is 31 in January, so he's go about 3 years after that left in the top flight at a club pushing for top 6. I'd expect city to go down the route of putting up with what they have for now, and lining up a big money move for a defender come January. They still have Kolo Toure as CB back-up, as well as Savic, and Kompany and Lescot are both fit at the moment - Zabaleta could probably cover CB for them if they had to - they have a big squad. Carroll will not go to Newcastle for 12m - i think we'd be looking at the 18m mark to sell.

I'd rather do a straight(ish) swap coloccini for carroll. Then get 25m for agger, 5m for adam, and 3m for spearing. Then blow the lot on some quality, like phill babb!!

£16m for Loloccini?

The sad part about that is that's almost believeable.

- Something Red -

City have a back up cb.. they signed rodwell who plays cb/defensive midfield. they have an established pairing in kompany and lescott. Do u see city paying that over inflated price for agger to use him as back-up? and if they did can u see agger moving to a club where he is only a back-up? IT WONT HAPPEN! Man city are looking for midfield players and maybe a striker if they offload dzeko. Put this rumour to bed now please

Oh shut up! There's enough persons around here making up stories and now you're even making up transfer fees out of thin air! Go back to your computer games you ridiculous person.

ed any interest in isco? not MOTd fever but this game has reminded me of the lad. 20 years old, rarely loses the ball and Malaga need the money! {Ed022's Note - I've heard much speculation but it remains unlikely at this time.}

And he will want to go to a bigger team looking at his talent on display last night.

Scouts from LFC where in Zagreb tonight watchin Milan Badelj as Brenan Rodgers looks to add more creativity to his midfield after missing out on the loan signing of Nuri Sahin.

Badelj would like to try and steer his hometown club into the Champions League, however if that fails to materialise Rodgers will try and tempt him to Anfield, but will face competition from a number of German clubs, one of them being Hamburg.

KMK

He plays for hamburger sv ?

I watched the you tube clip on him and it appears that he plays behind the forwards a position I think Carroll Should play as well. However, he knows how to find the back of the net.At the rate we scouting for players looks like BR is changing half of the team which could maybe be a good thing or not.

Badelj is HSV player , done deal !!

Badelj has gone to hamburg

He moved to hamburg

Already joined hamburg.

Lil Red

I think he scored an own goal and then scored one for the team:)

Just what we need,a player that can find the net! Both net's in fact!
Shame he's off to Hamburg.

Might be a bit of a conspiracy theorist here but do Eds think there is any chance that we might be waiting for Man City to make an offer for Sinclair so we can swoop in and Brendan bring him to Liverpool to solve the striker issue? As I understand it, his 'agreement' with Swansea was null and void if another team made an offer on a player. Joe Allen was an exception because of the buy-out clause in his contract. Interested in any thoughts on this. {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt it.}

Ed why do you doubt this? I know you have more contacts than most but surely for this price and potential, if he gets his head down and works hard, this is the type of player we need. Pace, skillful, scores with both feet. He knows Brendan well. All I can think of is obscene wages from City that would prevent him choosing Liverpool? Any answer would be appreciated. Thanks. IanCallaghan IsMyHero. {Ed001's Note - because I don't believe we will be able to compete with City, thankfully, because I don't rate the lad at all. He has told Swansea he wants to go to City.}

Thanks for the reply, Im hoping Assaidi will be a much better player :) IanCallaghanIsMyHero.

Dont want Sinclair, he is greedy and a non intelligent footballer.
Also would have no chance of bagging 20 goals a season which is something we desperatley need.

Lets see who would you sooner play for a team thats just won the epl or a team that finished 35 points adrift of the champions managed to squeeze into europe via the kids cup .,
at this stage you would be lucky to get 7th i know you have new manager but i think the fixtures are against him ..
will he be able to pick the dressing room up if you lose you next few games will he lose the players support ,more than likely going to be a tough one for u,lot this season..
my prediction you will finish in 8th place this year
