Hi all,

There has been a lot of talk of german players recently ( even if not for our team) and there seems an abundance of attacking (and to a lesser degree defensive) talent. So my question is: has there been any solid know interest in german players or players from the Bundesliga. Just wondering as i love the bundesliga - it's less painful to watch football as a nuetral. Also, is there any news on sahin possibly moving from RM?

Thanks in advance
YNWA

Ryan {Ed002's Note - Not that I can think of.}

Rumours have it that Kuyt and maxi could stay next season to add some depth to our squad. How do you see there situations eds?

Thanks
mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I don't see it.}

I am sure they will go.Hopefully some of the better young players will get a sniff at the first team next season, particularly in the Euro league and Carling cup. Sterling should have had a sniff by now, the WBA game would have been ideal for him.

I was told several weeks ago by a trusted source that Rafa was to be LFC,s next manager, the feeling is that he had his hands tied by those two cowboys Hicks and Gillett. JH and TW believe he could do a better job this time arround with their backing, especially in european comps. KD to be moved upstairs as they feel he will add credibility to attract the type of players RB will want to sign. FSG are prepared to back Rafa with a substantial summer funding and word is KD supports the move as the pressure on him is immense and not needed at his age. Great site eds, could you give your view please. JK- Red Forever

BUlls**t. People forget rafa is the one who got us into the mess with those owners. Dalglish will have another year I am certain

I know Rafa was one of the main forces that brought Kenny back to the club and so can see Kenny returning the favour.

I seriously hope and doubt dalglish is there next season, we will go even further back if that is the case. his style is out of date, get rafa back, or emry , or AVB

Bang on JK, I THINK HE WILL DO AN EXCELLENT JOB THIS TIME ROUND.rbh

WTF,Rafa was the first one to hint that the cowboys were not all they made themselves out to be after Athens.Personally i want KMD to continue as manager for so many reasons,not least that as a club and fanbase we pay our debts.
But there's no need to denigrate one of our former manager's who fought for the club and fully understood what it meant to be Liverpool boss.
Steve

Unbelievable comment that Rafa got us into the mess with those owners. Since when has a manager had a say in the ownership of the club. Baffling.

Don't forget get down to bet Fred Rafa on the 1st of June! Make sure it's bet Fred as it'll feel even better taking money off a united fan!

Rafa > Daglish

Rafa's incessant demands for more money for yet more over-rated and over-valued players nearly crippled LFC or have all the delusional pro-Benitez drones forgotten that. He ruined Inter and there is no-one beating a path to his door. He even offered his services to Chelsea with the promise of getting Torres scoring again and was laughed off the phone by Abramovich. NO TOP 10 TEAM WANT HIM AS MANAGER! FACT!

Have you forgotten how tactically inept the team was in RB's final season?

Stop making up bulls**t rumours just because ou personally want a LFC legend to lose his job. Idiot.

Cant believe there are some fans here who dont appreciate the work done by rafa under those pathetic owners with minimal funds..we won 1 champions league final reached another, won the fa cup,consistently top4 with record points of 82,86 ..the players who performed this season from lucas,skrtel,agger,maxi were mostly his recruits ..people boasting about giving chances to academy players..who brought in sterling,suso,pacheco or the coaches like rodolfo.. point is he deserves more respect that most people give him..
I have immense respect for kenny but he did his best and would be remembered for giving us siilverware after 6 seasons,steadied the ship but looking forward he isnt the ideal man ..if we dont get a proven wc manager like pep,hiddink or mourinho we should give a chance to rafa rather than chasing people like avb,emery,klopp..

Lmao at thwarting above post. Meaning he bought Torres for 20M and that is expensive considering his record at Atletico was awesome. He bought Alonso for a decent price and see how much he is worth. For Christ's sake, we are talking about a man who is able to keep faith in a player(Lucas) knowing that the rewards will come eventually. May i also remind you that Dalglish has not hit Gold with any of his signings while Rafael has hit Gold with almost all his signings. Even Riera was better than Downing and Garcia better than Carroll on scoring!!. Rafael with 100M can win us the title. I don't believe it, I KNOW IT!!!...

NO NO NO NO NO NO - please don't even joke about that outcome.
If Kenny goes, which he probably should - new man with new ideas is the way forward.
He's is out of work for a very good reason.

So it was'nt the clowns debts that crippled the club but Benitez spending.
So Benitez ruined Inter even though he warned Moratti the squad was ageing and needed refreshing.Even though his replacement Leanardo could not wait to bailout out of the club complaining of Mourhino "influence" still in the dressing room.
Oh and i'm sorry where excactly are Inter this season.
Chelsea wanted him to manage to the end of the season.
He refused.
Indeed i curse him every day for bringing Torres,Alonso, Masch,Arby, Pepe, Lucas,Dagger, Skrtel,Momo,Dirk, Bellamy, Crouch and one of my personal favourites Luis Garcia to the club.
Try not to let your two braincells rub together they might start a fire .

-rafa's incessant demands for more money for yet more over-rated and over-valued players nearly crippled lfc or have all the delusional pro-benitez drones forgotten that. he ruined inter and there is no-one beating a path to his door. he even offered his services to chelsea with the promise of getting torres scoring again and was laughed off the phone by abramovich. no top 10 team want him as manager! fact! -

you are as dumb as a box of arses...fact!

If it wasn't for benitez's signings, we would be about 16th place this season.. people forget he brought in Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, probably liverpools best players, I agree with the fact that with 100million, benitez would get us champions league. Those idiots slating him get real, he was a fantastic manager, who actually had real hunger for the champions league.

Yes rafa got us into a right mess in istanbul did'nt he!

Rafa is better tactically than kenny whereas kenny is more man management. does anyone think they would make a good partnership in some way
NZL_red {Ed023's Note - Doubtful, hardly worked with Evans & Houllier}

Rafa would be ideal but people have fallen for the negative coverage he gets. I am not saying he his fool proof even Ferguson bought djemba djemba and kleberson but he is a brilliant manager. Rafa if you ever read this please ignore the negative comments.

I'd love rafa back, always in top 4 apart from last season when we became a selling club, he'll bring back the good times given the right backing, the clowns above who dis him have short memories! In rafa we trust

How sad that people can't see the reality of the Benitez era. He won La Liga when Barca and Real were in transition with Hector Cuper's team. He won in Istanbul with what was essentially Houllier's team. What did he do with Mourinho's team at Inter - they still haven't recovered. How did Athens go with his team, his tactics against a much weaker AC Milan side?

Yes he bought Alonso, Bellamy and Crouch as 1 guy pointed out but he also drove them out of the club as well.

He also bought El Zhar, Dossena, Kromkamp, Josemi, Keane, Voronin, Degen, Padelli, Cavalieri, Zenden, Nunez, Gonzalez, Pellegrino, shall I continue?

The point is he was lost when Pako Ayesteran and Paco Herrera left the club and I can't see them working with the plastic messiah again. HE'S OUT OF WORK FOR A REASON - EVERY SANE PERSON CAN SEE THAT. FACT!

If it was Hector Cuper's team how come he didn't win the league with it.
It's also interesting that many of his so called failures were free transfers or bargain basement buys.
He's out of work by choice at the moment as he didn't fancy the Sunderland,Villa QPR or a couple of high profile job offers from Spain.
Your probably a bitter but i apoligise if your a chavski or plazzy salford red.

With all due respect the person who wrote the above post i think your wrong.
Alex Ferguson bought:
Kleberson
Miller
Djemba Djemba
Taibi
Poborsky
Bosnich
Bellion
Veron
Cruyff
Blanc

All of whom while they were at united were not great and they had plenty of money when they made those purchases.

Benitez genuinely had his hands tied and had to sell to buy, and often had to go for people who were not his first or second choice. I am not saying he didn't make any mistakes he did, who doesn't?

Also you need to add skrtel, agger, insua, reina, arbeloa, garcia, mascherano, lucas, rodrigues, kuyt, torres, johnson, sissoko. I haven't even mentioned the revamped youth system.

People slating rafa wow you are actually all stupid. He made us champions and your moaning? bet you wernt moaning then. The only reason he started dropping at the end is cause of the owners. As much as i love daglish i think we need more aggression and can get us scoring goals because if we could convert chances we would be way up there fighting for a champions league place

Am split by this one. i do agree that he brought some blilliant players and alonso and mascherano sales were somwhat out of his hands. ( if alonso loves lfc so much, why not return). whilst perhaps a more modern cl focused manager than kenny. he did tinker a fair bit and we did play some very boring football. I am saddened to think that any real lfc fans can call this a bad season under kenny. One cup in the bag and another probably just 90 mins away . a fantastic achievement whilst bedding in what is half a new starting 11 . Id much rather be a kopite than a gooner this season. Well done kenny and steve. a shame you couldn't walk on water and part the mersea. ynwa

ed do you know if cabaye will be sold in the summer and whos interested... cheers!! {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

If newcastle qualify for champions lge then he's hardly going to leave to join liverpool

Hi Eds, great site and thanks for your outstanding work.
What is going on with Lucas Moura? Are we still interested in him? And my next question is about LFC jersey for next season. We all know that Warrior will make our jersey next year. So i am wondering how it would be. Have the design been release? Every year, i buy all home,away and 3rd jersey because i'm a die hard LFC fan. I have been supporting this amazing football club for 20 years. Hope you can answer me. Thanks a lot. Keep on with your great work.

David69 {Ed002's Note - There is nothing on the kit. Moura remains of interest to Chelsea and to Inter (whoc cannot afford him) and his agent is trying to get other clubs to bid. Liverpool is not one.}

Lucas moura's agent (i dont know about himself) had a dinner with president Perez other day (real madrid's president). he will probably end up at madrid because whenever perez has a dinner with player's agent or a player, the player usually goes to madrid (benzema etc).

Must be really good dinners.

Does getting every kit make one a die hard fan? I consider myself a die hard fan but I know I can't afford to spend £150 a year on a shirt I'll only wear to the match and to the gym.

Anyway, Warrior can't make any release of the kits until the current deal with Adidas ends, so expect it in July.

Eds: Do you see us going for Jackson Martinez, David Texeira or Luuk de Jong this summer? Do you know if we have been in contact or how far are the negotiations come?? {Ed002's Note - Interest remains in De Jong.}

I found a new 'light at the end of the tunnel': since we are by far and away the highest paying mid-table team, we should certainly be able to attract the cream of the crop from the other mid-table teams. Players like Dempsey must be licking their lips knowing they can play for same caliber team and make triple the wages. For that matter we could even sign Fletcher from relegation bound Wolves....not a high profile name, but already outscoring anyone on Liverpool.

Good times ahead. How could they be worse?

What is wrong with you, fletcher is not good enough

Do you feel better now.

Sarcastic haha

And where do you think we would finish if you adopt this genius transfer strategy - perhaps mid table ? Fletcher is rubbish anyway by the way

Shed End is that you?

I agree Fletcher is world class, all we need is Jarvis for the wings and Cattermole to cover lucas and the premier league is ours 0_o

Fletcher can be our Javier Hernandez. He pops up at the right times, he has more goals than Andy Carroll. Back-up option he is great. If we had Luuk De Jong we would be 4th atleast....

23 Apr 2012 20:37:57
Sigurdsson would be a good buy - been linked with him. Adds goals something adam henderson and downing fail to do.

Gaitan aswell decent player, is he on liverpools radar eds?

jav {Ed002's Note - Manchester United and Barcelona both showed interest in the winger but PSG or Napoli may still be the first to eventually put an offer on the table for Gaitan. Asking price is and will be an issue. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica in January but no bid was made. I understand that it remains the case that no firm bid has been made but Benfica are aware of sustained interest.}

Cheers eds

Does anyone think that Sigurdsson could turn out like Charlie Adam? A one season wonder!! totally let down by his signing this year. promised soo much and delivered nothing...saying that there is a few others that fall into that category.... We really haven't been too bad this season, a prolific goal scorer (fowler/rush/torres) could have seen alot of games we drew and lost turn into more points! ;-( Summer of change according to Macca... Lets see how we do YNWA

Gylfi Sigurðsson would most likely not be a flop, just look at his stats and see that he´s been performing consistantly since he was given a chance at Reading. So no he probably won´t be another charlie, but give charlie a chance, I don´t think he´s been all bad this season. And why doesn´t Liverpool ever get fast wingers with skill, something in the likes of Bale, walcott, sanchez etc, all the best teams have them because it makes them all that more dangerous :) YNWA Róbert Red

hi eds, what is the situation with Joel Pohjanpalo. he looks like he could be a top player

also is there any interest in hoilett if not is there any reason why as he is young and proven in the prem

thanks for doing a great job with the site

Tom {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Hoilett at this time. Bolton, Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany, including Bayern Munich. I understand that Roma may press to have Hoilett sign a pre-contract agreement with them - which may spark further interest from Germany. The English sides are at a disadvantage in the chase for Hoilett now as he is in to the last six months of his contract and he can talk to interested parties from outside of England. Blackburn will offer him a new deal but I doubt he will be interested, in the same way as a move to Bolton, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say North London or foreign shores are the most likely destinations - and I do expect him to leave this summer.

I know nothing much of the other kid but if you try the search function there are bits and pieces.}

23 Apr 2012 20:04:26
eds do you think that mourinho will come to liverpool in the summer. cheers. {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Mourinho aint stupid enough to come to a club in terminal decline

Not a chance, he likes to be able to buy who ever he wants, we dont have the funds to keep him happy in that department, he does get the results though.

23 apr 2012 19:50:13
i have it on very good authority that we are looking across the park at fellaini and pienarr. i think they would be very useful additions.

Still half term I see !

Those gr8 players wouldnt join our current s**te team

Not to mention pienaar is not an everton player, he is only on loan to em :P

Not good enough to improve us to level we need to be at, winning prem and champions league!!

Fellaini would be a great addition, strong, good on the ball and not affraid to have a go. I don't see Pienaar adding anything to our team other than squad depth and would not be an improvement on what we already have.
SH -YNWA

Why the hell would we need more centre mids. we need to buy players for the positions that are currently available for the takling i.e right wing or striker. then go for quality youngster as back-up

23 Apr 2012 19:45:19
Ed is there any chance of diego or Turan comin Liverpool think they would be good signings {Ed002's Note - Probably not.}

23 Apr 2012 19:43:53
Hey Ed's, great site!

What are the chances of the following players joining LFC in the summer. I think they would be good signings(hopefully, we could get at least 3 of them)

Alvaro Negredo, Roberto Soldado, Clint Dempsey, Junoir Hoilett, Adam Johnson & Luuk De Jong. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - You need to test out the search function rather than have me bore everyone again with the answers.}

23 Apr 2012 19:08:06
eds/macca,
do you think that if we do sign muniain it is to replace suarez? i know they play in different positions but i have a feeling that if suarez goes munain may be to replace him.. That is if he signs!
josh

Does he score goals? No! Well whats the point; he will just get in Sterlings way. We have to leave room in the squad for some of our great young players coming through in a long time.
kidmillions

They better come through quick...on the matter of munian there is no chance of him wanting to join a mid table prem team so you can relax on that front

23 Apr 2012 19:08:03
hey ed's, anything on erick torres?
great site. {Ed002's Note - Nothing.}

23 Apr 2012 18:07:36
Eds What do you think of us taking brendan rogers, his swansea team play exceptional football! and if so would he spend money well? First post. great site. {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

He would be a bad choice. he's good with a small team but unproven at the highest level. we've made that mistake before and can't do it again.

qwerty

Weren't we in the old 2nd division the last time we had a welsh manager?
kidmillions

Rogers is irish - moran!

We'll be in the second division fairly soon the rate we're going

Boring swansea. They pass the ball backwards and forwards backwards and forwards in there own half for half the game. To the guy saying we will end up in the second division, he needs a slap

Your an person the only team that plays better football then swansea (was) spurs now i think swansea play top rate football if you replaced there players for like for like (eg) speedy lw,rw that can score a goal poacher in the middle that can create and a creative mid that can score but the better versions then that would be an class team. swansea play boring football? you need a slap mate

23 Apr 2012 17:59:11
Hi Ed i want to know did any chance lfc could move for either falcao benzema or higuain. And did kk quit in summer or he will stay for another year. thanx grt site.
{Ed002's Note - No, doubtful, most unlike, I expect him to step aside.}

23 Apr 2012 17:47:32
eds do we have any intrest any of these players

llorente
munain
martinez
soldado?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

It that a joke or you serious

I'm sorry but the days of you signing players like that are long gone.

23 Apr 2012 17:16:56
I mentioned him yesterday so I'll ask if we have any interest in Sani Emmanuel?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest Tris and he already lost out on a move to Chelsea because of Work Permit issues - so perhaps one for the future.}

23 Apr 2012 17:30:40
Hey eds, great side

After what most people would call a pretty poor season do you think Kenny will be moved on at the end of it even if we win the FA cup? If so, who can you see replacing him? Klopp? Emery? Bielsa?

thanks very much,
Joaozinho {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

So if we win the f a cup to get a double thats a "pretty poor season". ok we have been poor in the league but a team like arsenal r cryin out for a trophy. if a double is a poor season to u mate wots a good 1? prem n cl. your dreaming i dont no wot some fans expect sometimes ....redman matt

23 Apr 2012 17:21:23
Liverpool want andrey voronin back he is like 82 rated on fifa :)

Seriously Eds - you#ve put this one on? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what "82 on Fifa" means but it is as valid as the Cavani, Goetze etc. posts.}

Fifa12 is played by kids, hence the stupidity of the comment.

Doesnt seem as stupid as Carrol was for 35 million. I say make that man your manager!

Hes actually 80 on Fifa but hes still terrible

Why post such - - - - , sorry I mean twaddle ?

In fairness, its about as realistic as the crap people post about soldado, Llorrente and Munian joining us

Come on, lighten up its only a joke.

23 Apr 2012 17:16:56
hi Ed's....great site guys!......i was thinking that Clint Dempsey would be a good buy in the summer....your thoughts?.....

thanks

SCOUSER TILL I DIE {Ed002's Note - Should Dempsey come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Everton, Spurs and a couple of German sides, plus possibly Arsenal.}

23 Apr 2012 17:14:21
my dream transfer signings:
soldado and alba ( valencia)
Martinez and llorente (blibao)
sakho ( Psg)
Isla and benadita (udinese)

more realistic signings:
sessegnon ( sunderland)
Moses (wigan)
Kalou (chelsea)
raffael (hertha berlin)
Dembele (fulham)
Martinez (Jagures)

another unhappy transfer window

What line up will b for both teams

Dream team=
..................Reina..........................
Isla......Benadite......sakho........alba
.......gerrard..martinez.....lucas.........
.......suarez.....llorente.....soldado....

other team=
................reina.........................
johnson.....skrtel.....agger........enrique
...............lucas........dembele.........
sessegnon........gerrard...........downing..
......................suarez.......................

23 Apr 2012 17:11:35
hey eds

if suarez or carrol leave do you think we have a chance of signing llorente and soldado i think they would have a big partnership {Ed002's Note - I doubt both.}

What about one ed saldado or llorente {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Soldado.}

23 Apr 2012 17:09:11
Liverpool football club are not doing aswell as we should be doing, but we have a good basis of english talent in our squad now with downing,carrol,adam and henderson. now we have them this does not mean we have to play them. They have to work there way into the team like most players do from all of the top teams.

players we need to get rid of are

aqua 8 million
cole 4 million

players we need to sign and are avaliable at the right price

ibrahim affelay 10million quality player can play either wings or cam

raul albiol 12 millionquality center back and rb/lb

guss hoilett he is a really top player winger/striker free

gaiston ramirez or diego playmaker 14 million

strikers either sturidge 20 million or jackson martinez 8 million or erik torres 4 million or diego milito 3 million

Eric Torres? really? what planet are you on?! he's apauling, as for Junior Hoilett* he wouldn't be free, blackburn are looking for around £20m for the player, who I beilieve is looking for a move to either Chelsea or Newcastle. As for Diego Milito; he is very... "experience" and might not have the legs on him to make it in the top flight of english football.

To improve the squad we should look to sign;

Clint Dempsey - £10-15m
Gulyfi Siggurson - £10m
Yohan Cabaye - £15m
Edin Dzeko/Fernando Torres - £30m+

Dempsey would fill the creative-spark role that we see to lack, as would Siggurdson but Dempsey could play as more of a striker or in a free role on the right hand side. Yohan Cabaye has proved he has the ability to ping balls from one side of the field to the other without fail, as well as soring goals and playing the short pass. This verisitility is what we have been lacking over the previous few seasons, since Benayoun left. Torres would be open to a move back to Liverpool (the greatest days of his career so far) to rebuil his repuatation and also his scoring partnership with Steven Gerrard. Edin Dzeko fills a similar up top striker to Andy Carroll, but is more of a prooven goal threat.

I think this guy speaks sense well done

More wishful thinking not happening.

Bosco

How is Erick Torres terrible if he is meaning the Mexican youngster?...whereas you think we should get F. Torres for 30 mil, you seen his season?...good one fool.

How you expect Blackburn looking for 20 mil is beyond me, he will be free and if not very cheap until eventually becoming free, stop trying to be a smart a*se. The players he mentioned are good although Guss Hoilett is clearly a mistake.

Charlie Adam is Scottish.

Dont know about affelay due to his recent injuries great player though, maybe adam johnson instead :) and de jong or m.suarez for strike..!?!

Are you seious, Adam, Downing, Caroll, Henderson are the root of the problem. Mid table mentality and skill

Someone been playing football manager too much

23 Apr 2012 17:04:36
Just heard on good authority (all be it from a blue nose with connections) that Rafa will be returning to kop hot seat this summer.
The decks are being cleared behind the scenes for this to happen. My source tells me that Kenny may very well take a senior board role - DOF or "President" type who will be involved in signing Rafa's choices. Board feel KK can help entice players to Anfield.

Rafa will become "Head Coach" - european term for manager but his power is limited to the training & playing field - though final say on signings will be his.

Big overhaul at bootroom. Rafa's backroom to return & maybe Pako to make a return also.

KK's comments during run up to semi & additional comments this week praising Rafa are the first of similar comments we will hear over the coming weeks.

FSG are prepared to invest again & also allow all sales to be used in addition.

My source is no b*ll shi**er and this does sound a possibility. Can Macca or any Ed's add to this at all?

robkop {Ed002's Note - I can add nothing to what you have said. Perhaps Macca can?}

Well the chance of Rafa returning is there but I wouldn't hold my breadth over that.

Its almost clear that Kenny will likely step down but who will take over is the big Question? No clue at all, just wishful thinking of people.

Cheers
Armando

Why go backwards, Rafa has had his day if kenny decides to step down we need fresh ideas not old ones.

So appointing Kenny was a mistake. That was going backwards was it not??

Rafa is still a manager for the present day not for twenty years ago!!

As for people saying boring Rafa, when the "Special one was at Chelsea " I dont remember wonderful flowing foorball but he won cups, that the aim being successful.

When he managed Madrid against Barca he used rough house tactics to try and beat them he did what was needed to win.

West Ham played wonderful football so have Arsenal in recent years, but they both won sod all

So give Rafa another chance with proper backing

By the way Kenny was the right man at the right time still the KING

rasone

We have been playing wonderful football this season. certainly there is excitement. however there is little or no end result due to a lack of strategy.
Rafa can pick talents. I saw Insua the other day in the semi final of Europa league. He seems so matured by now. Rafa's recruits - masch, torres, arbeola, alonso are contending to play for the CL final. Lucas has cemented his position in the Brazil side. Johnson is England's first choice riht back. He convinced Suso to come to liverpool snubbing Real Madrid. what else does he have to prove? I dont know whether or not he will be returning to LFC. but it will be really disappointing to see him managing any other EPL side.

So pako has straight forgiven rafa after being sacked for no legitimate reason, apart from rafs ego ? Rafa was decent but showed his frayalties when he erupted his Fact Rant , and he was power mad at liverpool, and for every good signing I can name 4 bad ones ! Not for me !

See your post made sense until you mentioned Paco.

In an interview with Paul Tomkins, Rafa said that Paco betrayed him, he had to leave and there is no way they could work together again.

Fadi

I honestly don't think that Kenny is the problem. If you look at the style of football we've played this season, we've been doninating everyone that has come to Anfield except for Spurs. The problem has been the misfiring strikers. I don't think that changing the manager, especially to one who plays a boring, defensive style of football, will change those off target shots and woodwork shots into goals.

23 Apr 2012 16:27:05
Anyone mentioned Frank De Boer as a possible new manager on here? his Ajax team plays some great stuff

As manager the best choice for me is Bielsa while King Keny to take the role of Comolli. If we couldn't take then Klop or return of Benitez.

For the summer a hope we will transfer Martinez of Bilbao, Hazard of Lile and Kakava of Dortmund those three realistic transfers

Do you think liverpool will move for any newcastle players e.g cabaye, ben arfa? Also do you think if anyone made a bid for cisse (papiss) and it was acceptable would he move even though he only went to newcastle in january? {Ed002's Note - I do not know of any interest from Liverpool in Newcastle players at this time.}

I hear a bid for Cabaye could be mattirialising

If we buy them they will forget how to play football and hit the post about 20 times a season

? Why would they leave for Liverpool? Enrique is already thinking about his position at Liverpool. Also, Cabaye would cost 20 mil, Cisse probably more same with Ben Arfa, all of which have expressed no desire to join Liverpool. A massive step backwards for the players. Also if Newcastle get Champions League football IF... then why would they leave.

A few seasons ago Liverpool could attract top tallent, now they attract flop tallent.

23 Apr 2012 16:02:25
ed is there any interest in didier ya konan, looks similiar to cisse of newcastle and only valued at 6m?

wafa {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. There was interest from Stoke last year but they dropped their interest as it was thought there would be an issue getting a work permit.}

23 Apr 2012 16:00:08
Is there any interest in sigurddson? {Ed002's Note - Swansea are keen to take Sigurdsson on a permanent deal from Hoffenheim but face opposition from PSV, Zenit and, reportedly, Juventus. It would not be a surprise if Liverpool became interested.}

Have heard from a reliable source that Kenny Dalglish will be given a new role at the club. He will take Comolli's job as a sports director and Guus Hiddink will be the new manager for LFC.

Also linked with the LFC job is Unai Emery, and linked with the sports director role is David Dein, Johan Cruyff and Txiki Begiristain.

YNWA

So if Kenny has his new role and Hiddink is our new manager, as per your reliable source, why are there others being linked?

Come on pal, it can only be one of them surely?

Tristan

So youre sure KK will go dof, and huddink will be manager.....
Yet you add that other people are linked to the job.
So which is it? Why contradict yourself?
I hate stupid posts like this.
Ben the red

Sounded possible until the "also linked " bit

Hiddink would be a great manager for us...the only problem with him is that he doesn't usually manage a club or country for more than a couple of years

Please thank your reliable source for summarizing all the rumors across the internet

Right, if the king has to go then who do people want? Personally i still behind him but if he is moved on i would go Martinez. wigan play good football,and he got an eye for a bargain. Suggestions???

FowlerisGod

LMFAO: Why not bring Roy Hodgson back!
How on earth your r thinking like that.. clueless

Bosco

...but he has no defensive game?

TSP

Klopp first choice by a country mile. We should pull out all the stops.

Martinez is a very good manager... Liverpool could do any worse that what they are now. Dalglish has brought back the smiles, but I think it's time we had a manager who has his team playing football. Moreover, we need a manager who isn't afraid to get rid of a few!

When you end a post with the word "suggestions" the answers just write themselves my friend :)

Simply not good enough

1 of emery,klopp or deschamps looks like most people's choice ..
guardiola and rafa remains my 1 & 2 though..

AVB easily.....or Rafa....gotta remember the manager should speak fluent English and Spanish.

You must be joking if you want martinez just because his team plays good football. Look at the way we play... some really really good football and yet we don't win. What would martinez do that Dalglish hasn't tried yet?

Ian holloway ?

......I forgot to mention he dislikes mcsenile. Does that count for nothing people!!

FowlerisGod

Wigan lost 8 games on the run earlier this season and could still get relegated. I like Martinez and am glad Wigan's management and supporters back him to the hilt. Would he really want to come here with our lot screaming for blood if we draw a couple.
kidmillions

Mon martin o neill

Brendan rodgers all day!

Rafa back, BUT only if Kenny has to go. We play great football and control games very well at the moment, 1or 2 quality players (proven, world class goal scorer must be priority) and i think we will do well next year with Kenny still in charge. Still, if the owners decide he has to go then I woukd take Rafa all day. After all he was the scape goat for former owners ruinous regime! He was a brilliant manager who won us the champions league and took us to within a gnats fart of our first league title in 20 years. Only decision of his i take issue with was alienating and then selling Alonso. Great player who made us tick and would have stayed here for his whole career had the situation been handled better.

Louis Van Gaal would be my choice if Keeny steps down - lee

I'd like to see Jürgen Klopp on our bench.. :)
any chance of that happening?? {Ed002's Note - No. Sorry.}

No I think he has hung his boots up now although he couldn't do any worse than some of our other subs.

It's a bit like the England job... Don't go foreign! Pick somebody from the Premiership or another who has knowledge of it. Any outsider is a waste of time. We want to win the league and get back into Europe. Not have a squad of more mis-fits who can't play football, but who take home a decent wage for doing sod all! {Ed005's Note - Who would you suggest then? There aren't that many candidates, certainly not candidates who the fans would be happy with. We don't want to end up with another Hodgson scenario - where the job is too big for him and the fans are split. We need someone who the majority of the fans like and will give time and support.}

To the guy above....the two most successful liverpool managers of the last 20 years are Houllier and Benitez.....Souness, Evans, Hodgeson and Daglish (MK 2) have not been good enough....all have been from the UK. Our two foreign managers have done more for LFC in the last twenty years than any british manager.

Houlier's team played awful football on the counter, big hoof to Heskey with Owen grabbing goals against the run of play.
Rafa was a great Manager in many ways but he did have the benefit of joining the Club at the time of a certain Steven Gerrard plus Sammi and Carra at their peak. Kenny hasn't had that luxury and has inherited Carra at the end of his career, Steven Gerrard struggling for fitness. Pepe having a bad season by his standards and also suffered the loss of Lucas. Also some of the most promising youngsters we have had in a long time are just not quite ready yet. So if you want to make comparisons Kenny comes out quite well.
Plus at the end of the Season, it's just possible we will have won 2 out of the 3 competitions we entered against all the odds. So just stop and think what might be achievable if things go our way next Season.

Hi Eds,love the site.Was just wondering if Kenny was to step aside and move back to his role with the Academy,do you think we could possibly attract Unai Emery from Valencia?Have looked at his record and he is a young impressive manager.Ok he has not won cups,but has done a great job at Valencia with little money. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea who might end up as manager next season if Dalglish were to step aside.}

23 Apr 2012 12:45:00
Hi Eds,

Just a quick query....I know the likely leavers have been covered frequently (maxi, dirk, possibly johnson etc.)....but is there any concern that our poor league form could see us at risk of losing top players like Danny Agger, Lucas, Reina? I see these guys as being world class (although Reina's form has temporarily dipped) and I'm sure other big teams do too.

Cheers
MD4 {Ed002's Note - As with any team, there are many factors that could leave players to leave. I would not see many as being entirely sure of staying next season.}

Cheers for the response. I'd be absolutely gutted to see us lose players like Lucas & Dagger as I'm sure we all would be.
MD4 {Ed002's Note - Players are simply transient employees of a club. No doubt Ajax fans were upset to Suarez move to Liverpool, and Manchester United fans upset to see Ronaldo move to Madrid etc..}

I don't see Agger or Lucas going, but I do believe Reina will pull up sticks for London or go back to Spain. Either way, I can see him gone within the year.

While Reina is world class and been a great servant I'd be less devastated if he leaves than the other two.....as long as we get significant funds for him and replace him well. We'd defo miss his distribution but his performances this year suggest he is becoming stale and needs something different. MD4

been told that mr Henry wanted martinez from Wigan as the new D.O.F

Strange one I know but just passing on info

jkjunior

Not as DoF but would have as manager...think he has got what it takes

I heard that KD is being kicked upstairs to be D O F and Sam Allardyce is being brought in as team manager.

Doesn't make sense we have a manager that Fergue likes !

Get real people, none of these are good enough, if you think they are then there is something seriously wrong with you

To all the devoted Liverpool fans. Get a grip, and stop re-living the past. Martinez is a decent manager who just needs a few quid to buy players and have the backing he currently enjoys. It's not a strange one at all, in fact the strangest thing would be to keep Dalglish after the record he has notched up this season. Try looking forward and not sideways and backwards.

D.o.f stands for director of football not manager, therefore it is a strange one!

jkjunior

Martinez is a great choice, young and hungry and gets the best out of his players who punch well above their weight. i would rather go with him than some big name coming in.

liverpool only need

Pellagrini - good manager

Kagwa - creativity
Honda - power
M.Suarez - in the right place at the right time FW
Piatti - speed

How about some loyal fans?

Open the curtains and watch some more footy. Who? There are decent enough players in England.

Liverpool need quality proven players just look at the last 10 years who we have had. english players are good but for a successful team you need a mixture of talent. i understand that home grown team is amazing but its not practical

23 Apr 2012 12:19:56
Any chance of Kagawa? Looks a decent goalscoring centre mid and chips in with assists, also how about his fellow countryman Honda? Both good players who wouldn't cost a fortune?

Cheers Ed
jord {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been one of the clubs, along with Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. Although Kagawa has had a generally pretty poor season to start with, he is now back in favour at Dortmund and looking to agree an extension to his contract. I think that he will probably stay on in Germany next season although he says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down.}

Hi eds, I know this is most frequently asked probably but after Macca explained big changes could be ahead who do you believe could take over Dalglish if he does get sacked. Do you believe AVB, Rafa or O'Neill to be the favourites as the bookies do. Great site thankyou for your hardwork {Ed001's Note - no, I don't believe it will be any of those 3.}

My money is on Sam Allardyce.

Hi Ed001, you say you believe it not be any of those 3, do you have a name in mind? If so could you share it with us? Thanks Danny {Ed001's Note - I believe the Txiki rumours are true and that he is the first choice for DoF, with Dein brought in as well.}

Hi guys. I'm not a Liverpool fan but over the weekend I spoke to my pal who is involved in the Challenger Soccer camps in the US. He's also involved with the New York Cosmos academy. Basically he has links with Fenway through Phil Nash of the Redsox, and to cut a long story short the word is Begiristain has been approached to be DOF, and tentative approaches have been made to Frank Rijkaard to become head coach in the close season. Rafa Benitez is another possibility should Rijkaard fall through. No news on any player signings I'm afraid.

Frank was looked at previously but it was decided the would not suit the club.

New york cosmos dont exsit and is the new york red bulls and they are not owned by the same people who own the red sox and seeing how now the red sox and liverpool are both falling a part couldnt be happier and geordie who lives in toronto and supports the magpies and the blue jays

Why are you reading liverpool rumours then?

New York Cosmos do very much exist they are hoping to gain one of the next franchises that come up for MLS, as it stands they are an amatuer outfit gearing up to turning pro.

Roumours de la bernabau diciendo José Mourinho está muy interesado en Liverpool los jóvenes jugadores Jonjo Shelvey, que lo quiere como un reemplazo a largo plazo para kaka

Translated:

Roumours from the bernabau saying Jose Mourinho is Highly intrested in Liverpool youth player Jonjo shelvey, they want him as a long term replacement for kaka

Just Read this on a spanish site, heard any of this ed? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

What a load of kaka

Mourinho is leaving Real in a few weeks. He will not be taking Shelvey to Real. {Ed002's Note - But maybe Kenny will make Shelvey his first target when he becomes Real Madrid manager?}

I heard a similar rumour, Real want Shelvey and Carroll in a swap deal for Higuain.

I have soem good information which i gathered while at the game sunday... Slate me if ye like but these arer the facts, Dalglish will NOT be sacked this sumemr he wil step down and move back into the background to what position is still unknown yet... Uni Emre ov Valencia tops the shortlist of Managers to replace him i believe talks have already been held with Valencia and Emre has told his players he does not know if he will be there next season but this dosent mean he will eb at Liverpool as Chelsea and Inter also are looking at him... The shortlist also includes Brendan Rodgers of Swansea and Fabio Capello talks have been held with Capellos people and he would be willing to listen to offers but not until the Summer as he is taking a break from football... This is what is happening behimd the scenes as regards to player coming and going Liverpool are keeping there targets closte to the club which i like but i have heard there is serious interest in Hoilett of blackburn and Roberto Soldado this is it so far the rest wil ldepend on who leaves, Kuyt and Maxi will leave for sure and ive been told if the price is right for Suarez and Liverpool can get a replacement in place he will be moved on... I will probably be slated for this from people saying Suarez will never go he loves the club dont be fooled Players like Suarez alwasy wana play for clubs like Barca and Madrid so expect him to move on if a big european side shows Interest... There is a nice balance to the squad and im sure whatever happens the owners will get it right YNWA !

RK11

LOl! I would rather have Kenny rather than Capello or Brendon Rodgers. Brendon Rodgers will be the next Hogdson [better sta at swansea he belongs there mid table club] & Capello and his boring tactics sucks.

Would love Unai Emery to come but would say Dershamps.

Bosco

Deschamps? Seriously? He really isnt the answer to our problems.

I am only informing you of what i have been told just becasue they are on a shortlist does not mean they will be the next manager... Emery is the main target but we are fighting with other massive clubs... If emery does not agree to become manager then liverpool will look at there next preferd option who that is is still unknown im sure there are more than 3 names on the shortlist tho... Expect big changes at Liverpool next season John Henry will also be involved alot more!

RK11

Brendon rogers in + luis out = complete conmen owning LFC.
I knew it wasnt time to bin my Standards Corrupted shirt!

First choice has to be Klopp; everyone else a distant second.

Don't want anything to do with Deschamp.

Brendan Rodgers will be Spurs manager IF Redknapp becomes the England manager..

He is still undecided on the England job..

Cheers

Macca

I'm sure, maybe one of the eds commented on it? That hoilett has already chosen what team he will be at next year and its NOT liverpool!

Klopp would be my choice aswel but at this stage Liverpool is becoming a less and less attractive job if we win the fa cup then expect a few more heads to be turned towards us...Our leage position isnt tge best but any manager that comes in would not be inherating a poor squad, our defence is fairly solid and with the addition of another quality midfielder and striker i think liverpool will be a force next season, remember its our home form that has hindered us this season with 2 or 3 more quality players i think whoever is managaer has a good foundation to build on from next season! YNWA

RK11

Mourinho, Pep, Rafa, AVB, Lowe, Klopp, Cappello.....they are the best candidates, although most won't come to lfc

Hi
macca is emre a big possibility,
who would you like to see there
lee

I really don't see Cappello as being a viable consideration as he is too old to fit into FSG's vision of younger, dynamic managers who are hungry for success.

And how old is Dalglish? If FSG believe he is the right man and Liverpool do not get Emery expect Capello to be a very good bet to take the job

RK11

Because capello did such a great job managing england

Why are we in such a rush to sell dirk and on the cheap too?

Tbh its because he is sh**e, has played terribly in each of the last 5 games. He has been a loyal contributor to LFC but now it is his time to move on. I will be happy when we finally have some pace on the right.

Reds Jake

Because he is s**t..

Stichi

Kuyt is rubbish and has been rubbish for a while now ... we need players with quality and Kuyt lacks quality ... he is hardworking yes but if you pay me what he gets paid i promise you i will be just as hardworking if not more

Because he is s**t, we have not won a game when he has started for god knows how long

Because he's too slow to be our answer up front, and has very little contribution as a right winger.

His best assest is he'sprobably the fittest player in the squad with his own personal Conditioning team and faith healer but just like Emile Heskey, being fit and willing to put in a shift does no mean your are technically good enough to pull on a Red shirt. If it did I would be in the starting XI.

Under Benitez he was valued due to his work rate but if you look at his actual contributions i.e goals I would estimate 70% of them have been goal mouth scrambles or 2 yard deflections. His pass completion is terrible and his dribbling is woeful. If you actually watch him 8/10 passes made are straight back to the player who passed to him. This breaks up any forward momentum of a move and kills the flow. Not exactly outstanding characteristics for a forward/wide player...

FatJanMolby

He wont command a large transfer fee because of his age and his wage demands.

Dirk is still a first 11 player for Holland. Why do we almost always get mugged off selling players, Aqualani bought for 22 million, selling for 4-6. Masch bought for 18 million sitting on a west ham bench, sold when he is the best DM in the world for 18 million. Joe Cole tearing up the french league probably be sold for 2 million. Kuyt should still get 6 million at least, if we accept the 1 million reported we are mugs.

He costs liverpool £80k a week, to keep him for a year would cost liverpool 4.1m in wages. Sell him for a million and that 5million can be invested somewhere better.

Because his 2nd touch is always a tackle

You say he is s**t but he is in the starting line up for Holland ! ,lots of clubs interested in him ,but they must all be wrong !

Agree, Still as fit as any of them and winning mentality, absolute madness Henderson gets in eam before him. Same goes for Maxi and downing

Morning Eds
As DC has now left do you know if anyone is working on getting us a new striker? Is it Kenny and the scouting team? Has someone been given the job on a temp basis or do we just have to wait until the new DOF is announced (assuming they'll be one) ? We've know all year we need a "fox in the box /poacher" but yesterdays performances highlighted the issue again

thanks

RedDan {Ed002's Note - Life goes on after Comolli - it'll be fine.}

Hint of sarcasm there ed? not too surprised though.

Hello guys, any chance of Son Heung-Min leaving, seems like Hamburg are in danger of relegation. I've seen him playing and i like the fighting spirit he possesses. Tho he got there last season, any chance Liverpool looked at him?

For those who dont know him:
19 years old South Korean striker, currently playing at Hamburg. Youngest player to have scored in the Bundesliga at the age of 18, he has pace, good dribbling, shoots both feet and is hard working ... he managed to score 18 goals in 9 games during the pre-season, weak teams or not this is still quite an achievement for a youngster :)

Thank you :)
Nrox. {Ed002's Note - Hamburg will not be looking to sell and there is no interest from Liverpool, so most unlikely.}

Madrid win title.
Mourinho to leave
Rafa to replace him at his dream job
Mourinho to LFC

Give over u clown! Where do people get this bs from?! I for one wouldnt want Mourinho!
Clarkchenko7

And I'm a monkey's uncle! Where do idiots get these stuff from?! Singred

He won't come near a club outside the CL and I wouldn't want him. Although if Kenny does leave (and I don't think he should), I'd take Rafa back.

All we need is a decesnt striker

Purely based on results, Rafa was our best manager in the premier league era. And he made those results with a much leaner squad and transfer kitty. I would happily welcome him back.

Rafa follows Mourinho again? Worked so well for him at Inter didn't it.

American Red

Never going to happen.

Madrid win title
Mourinho to leave
Rafa to replace (dream job)
Mourinho to lfc........
puts down crack pipe !

Many times in the past "TSO" has mentioned he wants to return and manage in England...and almost as many times he has stated he will NOT manage Liverpool. He said that he knows why he cannot manage Liverpool but he will not say why...

Liverpool are looking at Patrick Herrmann, Borussia Mönchengladbach born in 1991 21 years old. Midfield Right Winger who recently broke into Borussia first team. Also looking Marc-André ter Stegen GK Borussia, but man utd want him value £8million

He won't join Utd to sit on the bench behind Lindegaard and TeenWolf (who just happened to cost around £20 million).

I would love for that to be true. But why would Utd want ter Stegen when they have De Gea?

23 Apr 2012 02:35:10
Not heard anything about Kenny getting the push or stepping down, but I've definitely heard that Steve Clarke is on his way in the summer. Again, nothing about Kevin Keen, but I imagine he would go if Clarke went.
