Liverpool reps was watching wolves v Blackburn today I think they was watching Jarvis or jones

22 May 2011 23:34:31
Blackpool relegated. What about Ian Evatt? Yes, he scored an own goal today, but he is a strong and commanding centre half. Great back-up for Carra and whoever it maybe next season. What do you think Ed? {Ed002's Note - I don't know the player at all. Sorry.}
--------------------------------------------
Evatt might be strong and commanding mate, but he's h*cking carp.

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - My thoughts are Scott Dann would be a good buy and that Liverpool should look elsewhere than players from relegated clubs for replacements. As an example, who would you want to see leave Liverpool to accommodate a 30 year old Scott Parker? Spearing has been playing well and Shelvey was always seen as one for teh future.}

I wouldn't mind Parker replacing Poulson...

sergio aguero will not be coming to liverpool or anyone else this summer hes already rejected man united and chelsea and said he wil stay at atletico madrid till 2014

22 May 2011 22:32:51
Ed just wondering when do you think we will start bidding for players, do you think we will bid/ buy any players in the next couple of weeks.

(-Mcbabel. {Ed002's Note - It would be guesswork, sorry.}

22 May 2011 22:22:15
don't mean to annoy u here ed but do u think we will confirm any signing tomarrow? that the deal may already be done?
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know, it would be simply guesswork.}

22 May 2011 22:21:36
Ed, has there been any interest in Lucas Rodrigues of Sao Paolo? In my eyes there is more chance of him signing than Coutinho, Pastore and Diego. What do you think Ed? {Ed002's Note - None.}

22 May 2011 22:01:05
I reckon defence is our main weakness as we have two top quality strikers(and back-up), and alot of young midfielders( wings are a problem).
I suggest selling agger(injury prone) and the Greek( not good enough) and then get rid of konchesky and insua and replacing them with:
Sakho(lb or lcb)
P.Jones(cdm or cb)
Dann(cb-cheaper now the blues have gone down).
I reckon it would cost around
15 mil for sakho
12 mil for jones
5 mil for dann
32 million for a back for that won't need changing for a very long time it will look like this:

Johnson-jones-dann-sakho
Or
Kelly-carra-skrtel-Robinson
Or
Flanagan-wisdom-Ayala-Johnson

Sakho can play in the middle as can Kelly.

I'm not saying these are the only improvements to be made but this can be covered by all players going out add a CM, couple of wingers and a back-up striker and a few free players and you have a very decent squad there.
Any chance of the 3 defensive signings happening edds?

22 May 2011 22:00:22
Just watched Udinese v Ac Milan there. If at all possible we really should break the bank to get Sanchez. What a handful he is.

Is there any chance at all that we could sign him? {Ed002's Note - I'll say no to be enormously disruptive.}

22 May 2011 21:59:43
Expect a lot of attention on Birmingham's defender Scott Dann.

22 May 2011 21:46:15
hi ed , can liverpool actually sign anyone from midnight or do we have to wait until 1st july , if so example of a player .... ? {Ed002's Note - Players who play for English and Welsh teams.}

22 May 2011 21:31:45
Wel ed

""All this talk about Aguero does have some base to it all. We have spoken to him but we are no longer interested unless he drops his wage demand.""
--------------------------------------

Mate you got that straight out of the daily star. Dont believe a word of it, they got his buyout price wrong, and even put the wrong age for him.

22 May 2011 21:29:48
ESPNSoccernet stating that Man City are in talks to sign two Japanese stars, one being Keisuke Honda! Shame we have missed out on that signing...

hey just a follow up from my post yesterday.
the player i was told was very interested in joining us is mata. he has told his club he wants to move to us as his first option as he will be sold in summer.
my source is a member of the first team although not directly, so can't name him.
sorry forgot to sign my post:

Apparently the mancs has offered Young a 130K a week pay.... When Rooney cried his tears to gain his salary, the club developed to a man city light... This is a proof. Now lets see if he's a money grabber or not.

I'll try to keep this short as possible.Adam has chosen to join Liverpool over Spurs. Young deciding between Liverpool and Man United (Spurs also had offer accepted but he wont be going there). Dont know which one he will be joining out of them two. Also Kenny and Comolli are very keen on Baines, people will continue to not believe this but i know for a fact we have pursued him heavily for the past few months (actually posted about this in January) All this talk about Aguero does have some base to it all. We have spoken to him but we are no longer interested unless he drops his wage demand. Also watch out for Perotti, DC has been keeping a close eye on him.

if i were to choose an lb i would probably go for vargas too but isnt he too old and expensive in terms of our new transfer policy

We have to consider things carefully concerning our youth policy. Vargas is 27 & Jack Robinson is 17. So if Vargas retires between the ages of 30-32, that would be the perfect time for Robinson to stake his claim.
I hope we don't break the bank for Hazard when we could probably get Perotti for a better price.

22 May 2011 20:13:59
Ed, do you think Liverpool are interested in jeremy menez of Roma. Seems to be viable option and he is also un-settled at Roma. How much do you think, are the chances of getting him, out of 10. thanks... {Ed002's Note - Chances of getting him will be low because there is no interest.}

22 May 2011 20:09:29
ED. Do you think Chris Mavinga is ready to become our long term first choice left back?

He's quick, Great going forward and he can defend.
What do you think? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the club plans to do with him. But we do know that DC and KD have been looking at other left backs - perhaps a hint?}

22 May 2011 19:48:40
joe cole out diego in for me don't want to slate the lad but cole is too slow and too poor in possession of the ball if we want to improve hes got to go go
===========================

I think Cole is Kenny biggest headache, what to do with him, paying him off and let go, or hope something good can comes out of him one day .. selling him will not be easy.
As for Diego, he has no pace, but fairly technical , however as Ed002 mentioned earlier today, we need to ask why did Juve sell him for half the price they paid after just one year, and now wolfsburg are giving him away for half the price they paid for him after one year??

Hi eds, just want to point out that although the transfer window opens at midnight, no transfer can be official until july 1st. Please confirm i am right or wrong

Out of interest, i think we will sign
Ashley young
Eden Hazard
Sylvain Marvaux
Jose Enrique
Phil Jones

Bran {Ed002's Note - For domestic transfers they can take place as of tomorrow.}

22 May 2011 19:38:13
S Dann and C Adam in to beef up the squad maybe
Oscar Wendt and Marveaux both free , Seb Larsson not a bad player for free to

Then 2 or 3 big signings Hazard , mata , sanchez (sanchez for me playing on the right in a front 3 with Suarez left and andy c )

Hi ed in terms of signingd i am just going to sit back and wait for the kings descisuobs what i would like to ask the eds is have we had any interest in our players who are being tipped for an exit? {Ed002's Note - Man you have to read the posts.}

Nuggets telling the truth this is what I got

endabrady For everyone wondering where Charlie Adam will play next season . . . He'll be at Liverpool. #lfc

Does anyone know what clubs, if any, are interested in our players who we won't need next season. There are a lot of posts suggesting who we need to get rid of, just want to know who to?

22 May 2011 19:14:50
i was looking at some of the danish sites showing transfer rumours and according to that it said that we were looking to sign 7-10 world class players isn t that a bit too much and wouldnt it be too expensive for the club?

{Ed002's Note - In the past couple of weeks we have had Neymar, Aguero, Hazard, return of Torres and Sanchez all confirmed. We are planning on confirming the transfer of Ganso tomorrow and Pastore on Wednesday.}

22 May 2011 19:13:48
ed, what are the chances of us getting perotti of sevilla and also a group on facebook thinks we have already bought adams and also for e.g if we have got young on a pre-contract could we buy him tommorow morning !!

Ant-lfc {Ed002's Note - Perotti a fair chance; I very much doubt that Liverpool have purchased Mr Adams yet; Young cannot sign a pre-contract but the transfer windows opens at midnight in any case.}

22 May 2011 19:07:30
which other targets for lb does then seem likely if interest in wendt seems to have cooled {Ed002's Note - For some reason Enrique seems to be a popular choice. There was interest in the young lad from Celtic and certain parties suggest Clichy may be an option. For me, a left wing back in vargas would be top of the list.}

22 May 2011 19:01:30

See city are after Honda. Ed is this looking likely. source espn sport. anyone know anymore. thanks {Ed002's Note - Liverpool may have blown chance in January when he was available. Wolfsburg are interested. I don't know about City.}

22 May 2011 19:00:01
The clearout begins now, Ngog, Cole, javonavic, Poulson, el Zhar, Aurilio, Agger, Aqualani, the Greek, Pacheco, Eccleston, Jones, Insua, Degan to name but a few.

It's time for a change we have enough young lads coming through all capable of filling the places left by the above players. Kenny and the owners want to add Quality Not quantity to the team with this in mind maybe 4-5 Quality additions to be added who would imediatly compete for a starting place in the first eleven. Also expect a couple of bargain additional squad players to be added to beef up the squad.

Kenny and Comoli will move very swiftly to try and get the players required, expect players arriving over the next 4 weeks. This will allow kenny and his team to prepare for July pre season with a set balanced team.

Roll on next season.

hi eds im a danish lfc supporter and i was just wondering if there is any interest in oscar wendt of copenhagen cuz hes a free agent in teh summer {Ed002's Note - Interestingly there was interest in both Claudemir and Oscar Wendt earlier in the year but it seems to have cooled.}

22 May 2011 18:58:41
OK, thanks very much for my mini_update ED,
Probably many more questions coming your way tomorrow,
Thanks again,
Burnsy!! {Ed002's Note - Well I shall be around in the morning and then shall be heading to Marseille and Monaco for a couple of days or so.}

22 May 2011 18:54:56
FINALLY ED, !!
Does Park Chu-Young play more as a winger or striker, and why would no European football be a problem, as if i am not mistaken Monaco were not in Europe this year.

Thanks,
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - He plays more of a striker and no European football is a problem because he has said he wants it.}

22 May 2011 18:49:44
hi eds, any chance of these being the summer signings?

Gervinho- 15mil
Payet- 14mil
Perotti- 13mil
M.Sissoko- 15mil
Aly Cissokho- 11mil

i think these are all reasonable targets with possibly one marquee signing, what are the chances of these players arriving out of ten Eds? and if you had to say, wou do you think would be a marquee signing coming to liverpool i the summer?

Cheers lads great site. (please post in rumours) {Ed002's Note - 6, 4, 6, 5, 2}

22 May 2011 18:48:55
"We should be able to get Charlie Adam for about £3mill now surely"

=== Not a chance. There will be an auction for him and that will push the price up. There are a number of teams who would take him.

Frenchy.

22 May 2011 18:35:26
Ed - I saw Ashley Young and Downing shaking hands with KK at the end of the Villa match. Does this mean a deal is imminent? {Ed002's Note - Yes it is the age old tradition of signalling secret messages to the fans. You will also note that Dalglish shook hands with Gary McAllister and he will be coming out of retirement as well.}

22 May 2011 18:34:47
Can we sign players today within our own fa, just as an example young, because villa are in the same fa as us.

{Ed002's Note - From midnight, yes.}

22 May 2011 18:34:37
Any offer yet for Park Chu-Young or just serious scouting?
Thanks
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have shown an interest in teh player in the past and I suggested he may suit any desires for an Asian player. However, he wishes for European football. It is a maybe.}

22 May 2011 18:33:35
HI Ed,
Have we made offers for Perroti/ Vargas.
Is Perotti the most likely winger, and are we still in discussions with Toulouse over M.Sissoko?
Thanks,
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Perotti and Vargas but there will not have been offers. I don't know the status of any discussions with Toulouse at present.}

22 May 2011 18:27:39
ed- what are the chances of signing owen because he is free transfer in the summer. i think he would be perfect as back up for games like today when we didnt have one of our top strikers, would fit the bill perfectly?? {Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely to me. And many of the fans do not agree with you.}

22 May 2011 18:25:10
Hi again Ed,
Just wondering the likelihood of Park Chu-Young (?/ 10)

Thanks again,
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - 5/10 but no European football may be an issue.}

22 May 2011 18:21:52
Hi Ed,
You've mentioned interest in Vargas and Perroti.
How would you rate the chances of signing them (?/ 10).

Also, i believe Ed007 said he understood a 23m euro bis for Hazard was put in to Lille. Do you know if the bid was successful?

Thank you,
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - 5/10 for Vargas and 6/10 for Perotti. I would not hold your breath over hazard just yet.}

22 May 2011 18:16:17
Ashley Young and Scott Dann will be our first summer arrivals, expect announcement to be made by 15th of June.

Eden Hazard, Gervinho, Moussa Sissoko, Aly Cissokho and Diego will be the other bits of buisness we complete this summer.

Mr. Liverpool

22 May 2011 18:14:26
ed, do you not agree that we should be looking at a goal poacher to link up with carrol and suoarez, someone like owen, only not that t*rt. Who do you think could fill that spot? {Ed002's Note - I think Gervinho would be a neat buy and can play on the wing as well. If not Park Chu-Young.}

22 May 2011 18:08:30
adam was exceptional today, his set pieces are quality. sign hhim up 8 mil i reckon.
conor

22 May 2011 18:05:58
Just wondering, look at the teams going down, West Ham, Birmingham and Blackpool, there are a number of players we could improve our squad with that are with them:
-Charlie Adam
-Scott Dann
-Seb Larsson
-Scott Parker
-Matthew Upson

These players would be back up to first team, and would all be available on a fairly cheap deal due to relegation.
What are your thoughts on any of the above players eds??

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - My thoughts are Scott Dann would be a good buy and that Liverpool should look elsewhere than players from relegated clubs for replacements. As an example, who would you want to see leave Liverpool to accommodate a 30 year old Scott Parker? Spearing has been playing well and Shelvey was always seen as one for teh future.}

22 May 2011 18:05:31
Ed, when does the transfer window actually open??

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Each FA decides the date that their transfer window opens. In England and Wales it is after the last game of the season - but that only applies for transfers between clubs who are members of the same FA. There has been a real big fuss in France this year as the clubs want the transfer window to open after the last day of the season rather than their following the tradition of opening on the same day as the International window. The French are concerned that those nasty English clubs will come and take their best players and costs will be inflated. Some countries use the last game, some June 1 and some the international window date. For International transfers I think the window will open on July 1.}

22 May 2011 18:03:31
liverpool to sign malouda for £12 million

22 May 2011 18:02:17
I really doubt king kenny would buy anyone who is not well known, so will people please stop posting this rubbish

22 May 2011 18:01:34
So ed, West ham, Blackpool, and Birmingham all go down...
Surely this increases our chances of getting Parker, Adam or Dann?

{Ed002's Note - I think the first two would have been leaving regardless. Dann is there for the taking once his fitness has been proved. Out of the three, I would only take Dann.}

22 May 2011 17:57:54
We should be able to get Charlie Adam for about £3mill now surely

22 May 2011 17:49:44

Ed's do you think Pacheco has a future at Liverpool? He didn't make the bench 2day - I may be reading too much into that; but if you know anything it would be good to know.

Thanks

Hoola {Ed002's Note - Pacheco has been on loan and is ineligible. But I expect he will leave over the summer.}

Pacheco to Norwich for £3m with a future sell on clause of 15% to Liverpool ?

22 May 2011 17:19:35
We should get Downing or Albrighton rather than young. Class old fashioned wingers, would suit Carroll better.

2. Mtudie - 12mil DC holds him in very high regard and contact has been made.
3. Young - 14mil No contact yet, but only a matter of time.
4. Payet - 8mil another St Etienne player contact has been made, St Etienne holding out to see how much PSG offer.
5. Hazard - 20mil Formal bid of around 15mil will be rejected, this deal depends on how much Arsenal, Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid are willing to pay. This is gonna be a who bids the most gets him.
6. Marveaux - FREE done deal verbally, just a matter of signing on paper.

22 May 2011 17:08:06
It is so unprofessional or unrealistic to think that lfc will make a big signings this summer. So, expect Lfc to sign the following players:

N'Zogbia (he is premier league proven player)
Emilio Izaguirre (he will certainly solve the left back problem)
Charlie Adam (CM, RM, LM)
Taarabt (He did a good job to bring QPR to the EPL)

22 May 2011 17:02:04
why are we even considering a bid for mata when man city are also interested they will tottally outbid us and everyone else

22 May 2011 17:01:23
The sight of Poulson on the bench is proof of our lack of depth. I really hope we can bring in some quality this summer.

i don't even think we need more than 4 decent players to be fair!

i would be happy with Young, Vargas and charlie Adam

i would very happy if hazard and marin come in for us because under good management they will be very class players and as being young, fast and very talented they can go very far with us and be sold in the future for very good profits.

and just good addition to the squad will be n'zogbia, ireland, clichy and barton

players i dnt want is enique, dann, johns and all those other players just because there british or average players, they keep ruining our team, and don't ever get played, look at the likes of pennant, joe cole and paul conchesky

we got a chance now to bring back the glory days, let not ruin it.

22 May 2011 14:50:50
Eden Hazard supposed to be spotted in London, most probably visiting Emirates as he's been quoted to fancy a move to Arsenal.

22 May 2011 14:41:23
ed is it true that we are intrested in eden hazard but that he is not that interested in joining us over clubs like arsenal or inter so realy unless kenny can persuade him or those other clubs lose intrest it will be difficult to sign him: soory for the long question ed {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

22 May 2011 14:26:20
Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have contacted Mata s representative (his father) and the trio have all expressed varying degrees of interest in the player s situation. Mata s new contract contains a buy out clause of 60 million, but that will always be negotiable if both the player and the club are willing to listen to offers.
What is clear is that Valencia expect an offer at some point and so far City and Liverpool seem to have shown the greatest level of interest in him (more visits from their scouts to Mestalla or more contact with his agent, for instance). At The moment it is agame of poker, but City and Liverpool are both under the impression that the transfer depends, not so much on the player - as they think they can convince him - but on Valencia and the final fee they will demand for him. Valencia plan on approaching Real Sociedad for Griezmann if it looks like Mata is leaving.

PEPE REINA
As I Tweeted last week, Pepe Reina has decided to stay at Anfield because he believes in the new project. Liverpool are trying to buy a left back (Jose Enrique and Jose Angel of Sporting have been followed, but there are doubts over the defensive qualities of one and the maturity of the other, so no decision has been made), a centre back, a central midfielder and two wingers. Juan Mata could be one of those if Liverpool make an offer that is accepted by Valencia and if city abandon their interest in him. And at the moment, with no offer on the table from either club, that is a big if.

From Guillem Balague's site ed, what do you think are the chances of much of this happening?

Thanks mate, your doing a great job :)

maka {Ed002's Note - Aside from this being the second time this has been posted and the same questions were answered earlier, I will repeat the answers.

Mata we have discussed at length and Valencia may be preparing for life after Mata by lining up Elia as a replacement. Although there is some interest from Liverpool and it would not be entirely out of the question that the club could move for the player, I suspect he may end up elsewhere with interest being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and I suspect Barcelona will become interested at some point. If Barcelona do show their hand I expect he could move there, if not Manchester City are reportedly heading the queue now. But without doubt a chance and he could well be the "big double super suprise shock signing of the summer". Griezmann I am less sure about. Everything has been very quiet and no move appears on the cards at present. Marseille and Lyon have shown some confirmed interest in the pass. Possible.}

any suggestions for a good site to watch todays game {Ed007's Note - I know it's something to do with google chrome, anyone help out??}
--
yeah download google chrome - then download the add on for it "google chrome live football" it will then appear as a ball on the top right corner of the web page, click it then click live stream; a selection of games that are live atm will come up, obviously click liverpool villa, then choose the stream that is best quality, and then watch liverpool have a nice easy wiin :)

{Ed002's Note - HOW TO WATCH FOOTBALL ON THE INTERNET (WITH THANKS TO RED LENIN)
1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

I think Liverpool will have £50mill to spend, plus player sales of £10-15mill so around £75mill to spend on class players:

Baines- £18mill
Downing-£22mill
Mata-£20mill
Benzema-£18mill

Even though its a bit over the £75mill mark, I think this is what KK would want.
Eds?

Downing Worth more Than Mata........Oh and Look There's a Flying pig.

hi folk's interesting reading of late as the transfer window draw's ever nearer,
i'm wondering if macca has anything on the latest rumours???
my source as i've posted before is still convinced that we will be trying hard to tie up karim benzema asap as interest is building from man u,
also we have as good a chance of signing hazard as anyone it will depend on the mata situation as it will be one or the other we'll persue, after all if reina can see our direction why can't other world class players ie a year to settle without european football aint too bad,
and contrary to the age old rumours imo we will also try for turan or elia depending on the outcome of the above also dann or cahill,

IF YOU JUST GO ON www.livescorehunter.com then its the same website as all the google chrome stuff but you don't have to go through it all. Just go on live football stream and click the match and it will have loads of sources. (bear in mind that the time zone is set an hour ahead so it will say 5pm instead of 4 for example)

Ed, what are your opinions on Wijnaaldum (spelling), I havent seen him play much but he seems to be a good dribbler and he is still young. We could put an 8m bid in maybe?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and Real Madrid have shown an interest - so maybe.}

22 May 2011 13:01:40
Hi ED's, I was reading yesterday on the La Gazzetta that Inter think that they can get Benaga for just 8 million, surely we must be interested at that kind of price?, and do you think that Clichy is a realistic target for us. {Ed002's Note - If Banega has decided that he wants to move vto Italy to player for Roma or Inter there is nothing that Liverpool can do. As for Clichy, if he won't agree to sign a new deal he will eb moved on - so maybe.}

22 May 2011 12:55:52
I read up a little on Moneyball during the January transfer window & noted at the time that one of the philosophies behind it was getting value for money on players.

One of the criteria behind this was to look at players with a, shall we say, 'checkered' history & then make every effort to 'support' the player once on board. The reason behind this being that the price on 'problem' players tends to be less than their value.

The 2 signings in January, Suarez & Carroll both had very checkered pasts (biting players, petulant attitude for the former & drink problem, girlfriend issues etc). So, maybe just maybe there is something in this.

So, looking at some of the players that have been discussed as options, its easy to see why people would dismiss them as not wanted at our club, not Liverpool players etc but maybe the following players are serious contenders to wear the Liverpool red.(There are others but off the top of my head)

Joey Barton (although I think its more likely we were looking at Adam Barton and people put 2 and 2 together)
Charles N'Zogbia
Diego

Bearing this in mind, I wonder whether there will be/ has been any interest shown in

Carlos Tevez ?

i know hazard probs wont come, however not because we don't have champs league football. suarez left ajax for champions league football. and if the owners show intent of signing a few big names people like hazard will know we will be a force to reckon and will join if a good offer is given. no none of this champs league BS

Afternoon Eds and all LFC family.

If Wigan go down, I expect we will sign N'Zogbia. He would be a good signing and I have said this before. Not regarded as a world class player, but he has always been in a second rate team! Also McCarthy from Wigan, a very good young central mid, I would have him in my team anyday.
Would be sad if they went down as Martinez is a proper gentleman and a really good guy.

I get the feeling Young will go to Manchester United, just a gut feeling.

Aguero is far too expensive in both fees and wages, don't want him as he would unsettle our team.

Parker will go to Spuds.

I think the Mata rumours have some bones, would be awesome to see him sign.

I would take Diego over Adam, despite him being moody; but McCarthy is still preferred.

All quiet on Reina leaving finally, the idea seemed ridiculous to me!

Manchester United are trying to up the price on Enrique as usual by saying they are interested, we should look elsewhere if his price goes over 12mil!

What does everyone think? Eds any opinions on these transfers?

Bazzaa {Ed002's Note - Might not be too far from the truth.}

22 May 2011 12:14:59
The King and Clarke have both reiterated many times that the only players that will be brought in will be the best that they can get (only world class), so no mediocre players. You can expect us chasing the likes of Aguero, Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Hazard, Benzema, Baines and Lukaku for this reason.

ED - Do you think Liverpool will sign Diego?And what do you think about taarabt. {Ed002's Note - Should Liverpool take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. I suspect Taarabt will head for the sunnier climes of a Mediterranean country where several offers will be available.}

The main rumour I wish to be true at the moment is Mata, a young intelligent and attack minded winger/ forward/ am with the potential to lift our entire team with his direct play, and also light up the Kop with his dribbling.

Also, I have heard that Dalglish has mentioned that we will make a marquee signing, a massive one, and it is someone we showed interest in during January could be a few people, but as a marquee signing Young or Adam simply do not fit, anyone got any ideas who it could be, Ed??

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - I am afraid that I don't know of Dalglish saying anything about a massive marquee signing.}

Ok Ed 002 what is chance on Aguero going to a)Chelsea b)City c) Staying at AM
and what's the talk about Diego coming to Anfield

{Ed002's Note - I have already explained what the situation is with Aguaro and the clubs involved. And how am I meant to answer "what's the talk"? What the hell does that mean.}

______________________________________________

The talk of Diego is pretty much just paper talk from what I can gather, although it was L'equipe who started the story[a respected sports source in Europe] I don't think it is true personally.

And the situation with Aguero, is according to the Ed's and some unreliable sources, he's in talks with Juventus who;
1. Have no money - Ed002's Note - ??????}
2. Have no European football
3. Have an ageing squad
4. Are in a second rate league.
Chelsea have been knocked back, so too have Real Madrid and Manchester United/ City.

We all know that the board are interested in singing a player from Asia. And i propose that we sing one of the following, and most of them meet out policy of young talent.
Hao Junmin (24 / Winger / Schalke 04)
Lee Chung-Yong (22 / Winger / Bolton)
Ki Sung-Yueng (22 / Central Midfielder / Celtic)
Park Chu-Young (25 / Winger or Striker / Monaco)
Atsuto Uchida (23 / Right Back / Schalke 04)
Koo Ja-Cheol (22 / Midfielder / VfL Wolfsburg)

What do you think ed?

daRedChef {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are screwed if they choose their players based on where in the world they are from. However, Park Chu-Young is a player I have mentioned on numerous occasions.}

What's this talk of Davide Santon being involved on a deal to us? Would be a great buy.

If we could sign Santon along with Jan Vertonghan as the new centre half that would be excellent bit of business.

So the five signings we need this summer are.....

S. Aguero A. Madrid.
E. Hazard Lille.
D. Santon Inter.
J. Vertonghan. Ajax.
J. Mata Valencia.

The above would make our squad title contenders. For certain.

Any concrete news on the above Ed? {Ed002's Note - It won't happen I am afraid.}

Heard that we are gunning for Gervinho, club is keen and so is he, 15million should do it.

He only has a year left on his contract, he's linked with arsenal and man city for 6 million so we could get him for that, I think he was a hodgson target though.

{Ed002's Note - Gervinho is keeping his options open but regardless of a new offer from Lille or interest from Fiorentina, I suspect that he will be playing in England next season with Newcastle, Liverpool, Fulham (if they make Europa which seems likely), Spurs or perhaps Arsenal.}

It would be a great bit of business if we could get him for 6mil - i suspect there would be a bit of a bidding war for him and Arsenal always seem to have the edge whenever signing anyone from France...

I've heard the Diego talk hotting up, 10million would be a bargain but for a guy so unstable i think he presents too much of a risk not olny in terms of his wages and performance but also his potential to have a negative impact on the dressing room.

My mate is convinced Santon is a certainty to arrive for 12million p/ ex but don't know the player (possibly aquaman?), i don't know why, any news anyone??

Right, here's the lowdown whether you believe me or not is your choice. Bear in mind that some of my posts have been reported by the newspapers (not directly, but the same info.)

Ok, regarding Marveaux. Comolli will meet with his reps in the next week for a FINAL time. Whether this is "showdown" like shots or to finalise the deal is unknown - but I am hearing it is to finalise the deal. There were concerns about his ability to deal with the physicality of the PL however Dalglish would like to increase the depth of the squad and sees Marveaux as a good squad option - nothing more. Expect this to go through folks - but if it doesn't sorry for being wrong I just go on what I'm told.

Also regarding Diego. There is definate interest. Wolfsburg want to sell him and his price is 9m. Comolli is a big fan of Diego and its no secret that we want a creative midfielder. This deal looks on, especially at the quoted price. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen. Charlie Adam is there and waiting, but I think there are other priorities personally. McCarthy on the list also, Scott Parker there is small interest.

Enrique looks less likely to happen by the day. Comolli and Dalglish question whether he is defensivly sound enough but if we want him we have a great chance. Cissokho from Lyon has been watched by Dalglish and he likes what he sees. Clichy on the list also as is Jose Angel. Would still bet on Enrique.

Comolli due to meet two La Liga clubs, two French clubs.

hi ed please post this... All you lucky Liverpool fans going to Villa today, please cheer on Ashley Young. He may not b the best player but he is a quick premiership proven player. He wont need time to settle and will be a good addition to the squad. We may have a bad time losing out on players in the transfer market, so Young may be an important player. We may still not get him or even want him but lets not throw away the chance to say that we would welcome him. I am sure thats what Man U will be doing to Charlie Adams. Young is English and young which suits FSG's plans, but until we get into the champs league we will have to have these calibre of players unless Comolli and KK pulls out a couple of amazing purchases. It looks like we will be going French this summer, so Young will be a good English buy alongside Dann. My targets would have been....Turan, Hazard, Banega, Dann, Baines, Lukaka and Young.

Anyone hear about the possibility of signing Demy de Zeeuw????

TrueRed73

Strange rumour starting up about Demy de Zeeuw of Ajax. good mid field player but plays more a defensive role. Just thought I would pass it on.

22 May 2011 01:19:16
Liverpool have offered an amazing package for Lille pair Eden Hazard and Gervinho. £35mil rising to around £40mil plus Milan Jovanovic to sweeten the deal. I've been told Liverpool will not be signing any central midfielders other than Charlie Adam in place of the outgoing Christian Poulson. Ashley Young deal hangs in the balance as does Enrique deal. Gael Clichy starting to look like most likely candidate for left back spot. Also Scott Dann looks increasingly likely to join Liverpool with Birmingham resigned to losing him regardless of whether they say up or not.

OK this is what i heard today.
Man C are planning to join the race for A Young.
(hopefully just a rumour) Kenny has a shortlist of Diego, McCarthy and Parker.
Know McCarthy is rated at 20m which wont happen.
Personally i hope Kenny has a second look at Coutinho, Sissoko and M'Vila

Ed with Nasri refusing to budge on his contract terms, and only having 12 months left in the summer have we shown any interest in him?

I know we don't have CL football next season but with a sign of intent early in the summer (I.e Hazard and Mata signed or Vertonghan). Could these signings possibly sway him our way?

He's an excellent player who has already proved he can cut it in this league.
