Liverpool will NOT being going gun hoe during the summer. our main targets will be the same as those we looked at or didn't get in January.

Honda
Turan
Adams

Young
Marveaux

Coentrao
Kjaer

I know we won't get all these players but I expect 3 of them at least.

What say you Ed?

YNWA {ed's note - I expect at least 3 as well, but I don't think the last two are likely.}

Gents, i really don't think we are going to be spending 50 mill plus in the summer, kenny and clark are looking to instill grit integrity and passion into us so why go spending big money on foreign gambles. I think its gonna be young, Adam and possibly/ hopefully - garry cahill, (signing luiz has ruled chelsea out and smalling looks the real deal at manure) that leaves arsenal vying for his signature with us. Coady/ morgan/ sterling/ suso/ flannigan to play in the cups next year all good enough imho
Thoughts Ed?
Jay Mc {ed's note - I really hope we don't sign Cahill, we have better kids than him.}

Like who Ed? Wilson? {ed's note - Wilson, Kelly and Ayala.}

Ed, skrtl to woslfberg. Could he go mate, could my wish come true? {ed's note - it is unlikely at this moment in time, but it is a long way from the transfer window.}

Ed I have heard a lot of roumers that andy Carroll is fit enough to make the squad for west ham any truth in this

Misfired thnx ed {ed's note - he is fit to run, but he is nowhere near match ready yet.}

{Editor's Note: I did not see any of the game tonight. I knew little of the player but was told overnight that someone would be there looking at him.}

Some of these rumours are so wide of the mark it is unbelievable, why do people post things with radical squad overhauls. They expect us to spend £100m on new players and suddenly find teams to buy our passengers for 2x there actual value.

22 Feb 2011 18:43:55
Heard a rumour from a massive Everton fan that LFC are watching Rodwell! Can't believe it personally but would love it if LFC got him - views please Ed. {ed's note - excellent young player with the potential to have a great future in the game.}

Evening Eds and fellow fans I have been extolling the virtues of Dejan Lovren for weeks on this site and I would love to see us approach him. I hope you all see a bit of him tonight for Lyon against Real and here's hoping he doesn't have a stinker and make me look like a right mug! !

{Editor's Note: Pandev is a good player but I don't know of any interest in him from Liverpool. Taiwo is holding out for a move to Benfica, Inter Milan or even possibly Juventus. I don't see him moving to Liverpool.}

Hey Ed, could you tell us why you don't see him moving to us? Why would he prefer Benfica, Inter or Juve? We are a far better side than any of those 3. {ed's note - they all have much higher chances of regular Champions League football as they play in weaker leagues, they pay high wages and he would get guaranteed first team football.}

Sounds like a bullet that needs dodging, no matter how good he may appear to be.

What about Oscar Wendt of Copenhagen I believe that we were linked with him in the summer with regards to our desperate left back problem

Why shudnt we go for fabio grosso a decent left back with tons of experience . .
Wats ur say ed? ?

{Editor's Note: He has to be well over 30 now.}

*Shudders at the thought of our last Italian left back*

{Editor's Note: Rumour has it that Liverpool may just be taking a little look at a defensive midfielder in Claudemir tonight.}

am I right in thinking that he plays for copenhagen?

{Editor's Note: Yes you are - he has been turned from a general purpose midfielder in to a defensive midfielder. I am not sure how he will be used this evening.}

how good is he and what would he be worth? {ed's note - how good is he? That is an impossible question to answer, why don't you watch and see for yourself whether you like what you see or not?}

Heard from a dear friend of mine who works at the local chippy near Villa Park in Birmingham and one of his customers is Ashley Young's Cousin and he claims a move to merseyside is imminent in the summer. Kenny has informed Ashley that he will not be the only one arriving in the summer but a deal for Charlie Adam and Keisuke Honda is also sure to happen. Ashley has been promised the no. 11 shirt and no. 10 for Honda. Joe Cole is out the other way to Aston Villa.

To the divvy that said this

Hi I was just thinking, we've been thinking we need a new defensive midfielder for a while, experienced and physical. How about Gattuso? After his ban the manager will probably decide to start playing their younger players more often instead of him. He could be a good temporary signing, picking him up for £2M or so.

---------------------------

do you know nothing about football? remember istanbul? gattuso and gerrard? gattuso called gerrard a cheat and gerrard said hes seen scarier kittens . these 2 hate each other .

yeh gattuso would be a great addition to the side and would work well amongst our midfield.

orite mate calm down I don't even remember that (was only 11 then :L)

Ed is it true that C sar Azpilicueta is joining in the summer? It says so on wikipedia which isn't a very good source but I was a bit shocked to see it. . {ed's note - anything mentioned using there as a source I am just going to ignore in future, it is pointless reading anything off there. I am pretty sure he has an ACL injury and is out for the season.}

KK's latest scouting mission may see an influx of veteran irish crooners.

Dalglish was at Parkhead on sunday to watch Emilio Izaguirre.
Looks exactly the player to fill the left back position next season and would probably only cost £5 - 6 million.

R u all k. .bs r signings in the summer r contrioe lb, turan winger, marveaux winger already signed, and lavezzi, dalglish is smart and not prepared to play gerrard in forward role no more, come on he is getting on leave him where he can influence attacking and defending

I heard some information over the weekend regarding Kenny and the managers role. The guy who told me has a slightly long and tenuous link to the club source but i do know for a fact that he knows the person/ people involved. However, whether there has been any exaggeration or a Chinese whispers effect down the line, i can't say for sure. He said that Kenny will keep the managers job but only on a yearly rolling contract rather than a long term one. The board however will fully back him during the summer by, quote, "spending to rival City and Chelsea"

I'm slightly disappointed if this is true as i would love KK to get a long term contract.

I really don't understand such posts. Kenny has just come in. He has turned the club around. . .
(see previous post, tis quite long)
. . .Let us not bother with things that are not immediate. The club is bigger and better than any human. SUPOORT the club for heaven's sake.

I suppose some people are just pessimists. I am not. I love our club and I love where we are at the moment. And I am enjoying every second of it

= = =
I clicked unbelievable because the poster was only passing on information they had heard, no need for a rant mate, we all feel the same toward Kenny, as the poster states in the last paragraph!

On a rumour note, i have been informed talks with Arda Turan will happen again in the summer and a deal will be pushed for.
Honda was always going to be a struggle with time constraints as it was the Jan window + Asian Cup and his agents willingness to speak to as many clubs as possible! But Honda will be re-approached come the summer and the situation will be analysed.

I really don't understand such posts. Kenny has just come in. He has turned the club around. He has inspired a red revolution. He is our Messiah. He has redeemed the hope in our hearts and the passion in the players. Who brought him in to this position? OK, initially it was Rafa who asked him to come back. But who has now appointed him as Caretaker manager? NESV / FSG, that's who.

Kenny loves Liverpool FC. It is his blood, his team, his passion, his everything. Do you think our owners don't know that? Do you think they do not see the change in our performances? Who wouldn't be disappointed if he does not get a long term contract? All of us of course.

But at times like this when we have just turned the corner and are starting to shine and have lots of work to do to get to the top 4 by next season, what is the point of stirring up some more ill feelings or doubts?

Do you think Kenny would perform any less if he wasn't offered a long term position immediately? I mean, come on! Seriously mate, is this what is currently on your mind? Do we not have other things to worry about?

Let the King do his job in peace with all our support. Let the owners understand who Liverpool FC really is. We, the supporters are a MAJOR part of the club's culture. We support the club through thick and thin. Show your support. You might simply be sharing your thoughts, but mate, there are other things to focus on. BE POSITIVE and enjoy our current form. After so many crappy years, just try and enjoy who and where we are.

After so many MISERABLE years under H&G, NESV/ FSG have shown us the light, they deserve our support and our respect. Fault them when they make a major mistake, which they have yet to do.

We have so much work ahead: trying to make the top 4 this season and next season, summer transfers, getting Carroll fit and performing, making sure the team gels together, focusing on games 1 at a time trying to get 3 points, trying to win the Europa, etc. .

Let us not bother with things that are not immediate. The club is bigger and better than any human. SUPOORT the club for heaven's sake.

I suppose some people are just pessimists. I am not. I love our club and I love where we are at the moment. And I am enjoying every second of it.

ED is there any chance of us getting Giannis Fetfatzidis from Olympiacos? He's a fantastic player and I really think that he could be a real asset to the future of the team. {ed's note - never heard of any interest in him, he has the kind of name I would expect to remember if we were watching him.}

According to the Mirror, Andy Carroll is back in training and mighht make the bench on sunday vs West Ham. Would certainly be good to have that presence in place and some field time ahead of the 6th March. Fingers and toes crossed. .

Any truth that Carroll could be on the bench this weekend ed?

Dan {ed's note - it is perfectly possible he could be, hard to say with the injury he had though.}
