With all this fekir news, which i don’t believe at all. I just want to ask the eds have we even made contact with lyon or his agent till now?

{Ed002's Note - After a claim of the deal being agreed last week Lyon were looking in to a potential illegal approach. Lyon have been clear where they stand, his “representative” may well of been speaking to Liverpool. Something can be done as I previously explained. Macca, I am told included him in the “done deal” or whatever list. I have not seen his post. It can happen but right now there will be a little work to do. This may well be the Coutinho “replacement” - but remember he dresses to the right.}

I don't believe it either, I'll believe it when it happens, which I have my doubts about, it feels too much like the Lemar fiasco last year. If it does, great, we need quality reinforcements and he'd be a brilliant addition but I have my doubts on this one.

Exactly Ed2 mate, I think almost everybody apart from you Eds was saying how it was a 'done deal' and fans went and believed them all summer, same goes for VVD it was all about them two been signed before the end of the transfer window, it got boring.

I see the similarity with this Fekir business, it might happen of course but it just seems too much like the Lemar BS just another name. We've got everybody who's suddenly 'in the know' telling us how its a done deal, it's not! if it was he'd be stood with a Liverpool scarf having his picture taken signing on the dotted line.

Lyon were looking in to this given that Liverpool had made no approach to them about this. I don't really understand why you struggle to comprehend this.}

Shayan. Lyon investigated into whether or not we had illegally approached Fekir after French media proclaimed a deal had been struck. As it stands this is all we know of a potential deal, no contact has been made to Lyon, whether we have contacted Fekir remains to be seen. Ed2 has given this information multiple times across multiple posts.

Rumors in the papers have said that Klopp met with him last summer and reached a verbal agreement. If that's true I don't know how that isn't tampering so let's hope they lying.

The Liverpool Echo are reporting tonight that Liverpool will make contact with Lyon after the final. Nothing should take the focus away from Kiev.

Although the Echo don’t get everything right they are usually more reliable than some of the rags.

BRover, I do agree with you, there are several players in the PSG team who are arguably too good for the French league. Neymar knew the standard of football there before he signed. He and his father were more interested in money than sporting ambitions. I am sure player power will get him out of there though.

I have wondered about mbappe if he will ever reach his potential playing in the French league. I think one of the eds has said he may well end up at Madrid, but he needs to be tested.

Afternoon Ed's, are you aware of any interest in our own players?

Sturridge, Clyne, migs, etc?

Be interesting to see where they end up and if we set silly price valuations.

{Ed001's Note - there is little interest in Sturridge unless the asking price and wages drop. Sevilla still hold interest in him.

Clyne was looking to return down south and Palace were interested. Not sure if anything has happened there. Bournemouth are a possibility as well.

Mignolet has a similar problem to Sturridge.}

Salah. I use reddit a lot for Liverpool based news and conversation. The sub is 98k strong.
I can't figure out why but, whenever I've mentioned how poor Clyne is on there I've been vilified. A lot of them see him as the saviour we need at RB and how we've looked so much worse without him this season.

The guy not only can't defend but he's utterly useless going forward. I think it's down to his FIFA 18 rating tbh.

That's absolutely crazy shents, I don't understand what game some people are watching at times mate.

I agree with you, he is just poor at every aspect in the game, to be honest I think I'd go as far to say, any PL team who went for him would be stupid to do so, he's Championship level at best. The bugger gives me palpitations as much as Migs/ Matip does. Anybody who rates him can't be watching him. TAA would do a better job blindfolded.

It's probably because a lot of people assume muscular athleticism is indicative of footballing ability. It's not. The ManU fans probably love Clyne because he reminds them of their own Valencia. They may be physically similar, but there's a vast difference in footbaling skill and ability between those two.
