Does anyone think vardy would be a good signing? He has an eye for goal and has shown some real classy technique. That goal (against West brom? ) when it came over his shoulder and he volleyed it. I cannot stress how difficult that is to do, you need the technique and the timing but you need to do all this in full sprint, footballs move pretty quick when played high and straight.

He is also pretty quick and it seems only a matter of time until he joins a bigger club. I wouldn't put him before Firmino, no way but there are a lot of games and Bobby can't play them all.

The fact that whenever he scores (that goal included) he wheels away pointing at his own chest and screaming "ME, ME F*$"ing ME" suggests to me that he may not fit in with the team ethos that Jurgen is building.

Considering age profile (31)not sure he'd be a good investment for LFC or any other top 6 club.

I would prefer for our other options such as Solanke, Brewster or Ings to be given a shot, however if some or all of them leave in the summer and we need a proven back up, I think we could do far worse than Vardy as a stop gap. Only problem would be price for an aging player as has been mentioned above.

21 Mar 2018 21:20:23
I think that Ings and Solanke are more than enough back up. Klopp seems to want to add goals in the midfield positions. Hence the Ox Followed by Keita. Hendon Milner and Gini all scored one each whilst ox scored 4 assisted 5.
Maybe he will move TAA into midfield next year?

I think vardy is a good player that has developed later in his career albeit too very good player, I would say yes too him but like other posters on here it’s the age that is stumbling block,

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed0333's Note - haven’t you just contradicted yourself Wombat?

22 Mar 2018 00:52:51
Reminds me of my favourite joke:

What do you do if you find a wombat?

Have a game of wom

No thank you. Stop gap not required
For those old enough to remember David Speedie did well scoring at other clubs and to be gair scored some big goals for us.
However- started a churn of older players who didn’t fit and were shipped out.

No thanks. Wouldn't suit out style of football.

22 Mar 2018 08:55:22
Doesnt suit our style at all, doesn't suit our team ethic at all, has a well documented history of downing tools every time he's not happy and frankly is a bit of a racist ***. Thanks but no thanks.

I don't think that Vardy would fit in, for a number of reasons, his age, his price, his partner, his attitude, is that enough .

22 Mar 2018 19:33:30
What about Origi as a back up rather than Vardy?

Yeah good point Ed reading it back haha, and you can’t beat the wombats!

{Ed0333's Note - No worries mate and nooooo you can’t beat the wombats.

It has been said on here that there is interest in draxler but I also see links to cabellos of Madrid. Would it be a case of one or the other or is the cabellos interest not real?

Keep up the great work.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over about interest in Ceballos - but they play in different positions.}

21 Mar 2018 15:19:34
Hey eds, any interest from Liverpool, or any team, in Richarlison from Watford? He's looked decent every time I've seen Watford play. Thanks guys, hope you're having a great day.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - none from Liverpool, most interest died out because he has been awful after a good start.}

21 Mar 2018 19:50:43
Agreed Ed1. I’ve seen Richarlison play live on a number of occasions and I assure you he’s massively over hyped. Ok he’s young but I’ve never seen a player miss so many clear cut open goal chances in all my 40+ years (he makes Ronnie Rosenthal look like Messi on occasions :) .

Eds what is the situation with Grujic? Does Klop rate him for a place in the team for next year or are we looking to sell him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it is all dependent on his loan spell, though his dad wants him to move on.}

21 Mar 2018 08:23:47
Thanks Ed001.With so many midfield players plus the new signings in summer to be honest i don't blame him. He will not find a place.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - personally I am not convinced he is anywhere near good enough.}

21 Mar 2018 08:28:44
What have you made of his performances at Cardiff ed? At while we're at it, what have you made of Keita lately? Seems to have upped his game to his levels of last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen Grujic twice at Cardiff and he did not impress me at all. Same as his Liverpool performances, lots of running around but no thought. Keita is a top class player, just needs to act right off the pitch, all very well turning up early for training etc, but no need to be a dick over money. That will not wash in Liverpool if he starts dumping tips on the floor or similar. He will soon find himself regretting it.}

21 Mar 2018 08:31:05
I think it's best for him to move on. For his career and for us, I don't think he'll ever quite make it, Markovich springs to mind when I think of Grujic. I think we're improving dramatically, we're going for top players and I'm afraid Grujic just isn't that.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Mar 2018 09:49:17
contrary to posts, i believe if coached and played right Grujic can be a much better player than Matic. But he would need a lot of consistent chances to become a player like matic. which of course would not be happening at LFC. Makes me wonder why do we even buy young players at all. If i remember correct Grujic wasnt a free transfer.

Agree7 Disagree3

Nothing to indicate he’s good enough but it’s early days, if Cardiff get promoted and he spends a whole season there in the PL learning you never know.

Ffs Ed Keitas not a dick is he.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he has been one this season, taunting team-mates about money, in a restaurant threw his tip on the floor after mouthing about how much he is earning and stupid little things like that. Hopefully he will get that out of his system, it is a meteoric rise he has had and it is easy to let it go to your head.}

21 Mar 2018 10:09:53
Good God ed those are the worst kind. i am certainly now not looking forward to that. Hope he gets a reality check.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid who is in need of taking down a peg or two. A bit of community work, learning about those less fortunate etc, will soon teach him some humility and empathy. I just fear LFC, with its total focus on money over respect for others (see sponsorship deals in recent years), is not the place to teach him humility and respect.}

21 Mar 2018 10:30:32
I was about to say that but feared since the posters. It is really not a match keita's attitude and us.
Still i think we have down to earth players in Hendo, mo and others who he might learn a thing or two from.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - certainly Salah shows genuine humility and a lot of other players around the world could learn from him and his acts of generosity.}

21 Mar 2018 10:37:31
coming from Guinea i'd thought he would know better. But success really hits few very hard.
though i hope Klopp won't have any of his shenanigans and he will be shown the bench if his attitude persists.

How's Mane's attitude Ed? From what I've read he's close to Naby off the pitch, hopefully he can be a positive influence on Naby when he comes.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he has been fine since joining. I am hoping it was just a bit of childishness from Keita that he will quickly grow out of. We all do stupid things, that's how we learn. Just have to hope he learns.}

21 Mar 2018 10:59:34
To sign for a club like us, in the premier league and at his age, he's going to be overly chuft which has obviously made him look daft because he's bloated about it a bit too much lol which in a way I understand, he's young an excited, he just should've kept his mouth shut and got on with it but I believe once he joins us he'll get his head down and mould into our team comfortably. The more senior players, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Hendo etc will straighten him out I think just from their presence alone.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Mar 2018 11:00:46
I remember mane had a breakdown at soto when he was to join us. Attitude really went the drain. I just Hope both players help each other in becoming better and world class footballers and not create whining side corner in the dressing room talking things other than football.

If Grujic can prove himself there is a place for him in the squad next season, we need a back up to Hendo and, with Can leaving, there's no suitable alternative at the club. However I think that Klopp doesn't trust him and will bring in someone else for that rule with Grujic going on another loan or being sold.

Keita regards Mane as a big brother figure so perhaps it will be Mane who gets to impact on Keita when he’s here.

Keita will be fine it is different from any young lad who suddenly comes into money and has not really had to earn it like the working class do
Lee Bowyer John Terry Nile Ranger are all example of idiots who money could not humble but with Hendo there and Salah and Mane and Robertson setting the right examples he should be fine imo.

Watched Naby play Bayern last weekend he run the midfield covered a lot of ground got into Bayern box on several occasions and scored and set up Werner for his goal them two work well together . The two center half’s were out standing they nullified the Bayern attack they need scouting for future reference . I would of rather had Bayern than city in champs league they are not that great.

Henderson, Wijnaldum and Keita can all play a holding midfield role.

I think one of Grujic's biggest weakness, which can often make or break a quality footballer, is his inability to improve the mental side of his game.

I have watched Cardiff, as often as I can, and I still see the same problems that made me concerned with signing him. Grujic's concerntration throughout a match is suspect, his positioning often questionable, he makes silly challenges early in matches which leaves him on a yellow card within the first five minutes. He is rash and aggressive, not so much with intent, but accidental. He will often judge a defensive tackle, often a sliding tackle, inccorectly and take the man out completely. He does this so often.

The boy does have ability, although his passing, I think, will always lower his ceiling of development. His passing is often times horrendous and I am not talking about his inaccuracy with long balls, I am talking about his inability to play a simple pass when no defenders are closing either him or the receiver down. It is very troubling, he turns over possession so frequently. If he is to play for Liverpool then that needs to stop because, with our offensive strategy, turn over possession in the areas Grujic occupies would see us concede a number of goals.

For me, Grujic is not ready to perform in the Premier League just yet. Maybe near the mid to bottom sides of the Premier League, but definitely not the top. In my opinion, the club needs to make a big decision in regards to Grujic, either sell him and let him develop him, or loan him out and make a firm decision next year.

21 Mar 2018 19:25:17
Sadly, I think Grujic missed the boat by insisting on loan back to finish the season with the old club after he signed in january, Klopp gave bunch of kids a run of games that spring as he was all in on the europa league. He's been very stingy giving chances to kids since then preferring a more finished players. With top 6 being so far ahead of everyone else and bunched up on top of that, early cup exits, there will be only so few chances afforded to the youngsters.
