Hi Eds it's my first post on hear and would like to say what a great job your doing. I'm on here everyday for updates etc. Firstly is there any truth to sako wanting a move from the reds? And also when is Benteke due for his medical?

see i don't rate sakho i think he is a liability when he is on the ball and didn't have a good season last year but don't get me wrong he is a solid defender maybe we will have to see what happens this season.

Do you know what the views of the management staff are, ed? It would seem to me that the defence needs to be built around Sakho, but for some reason BR does not rate him?

Considering Toure's age and Lovren's poor start to his Liverpool career (which I'm not 100% sure he will turn around from) I don't see why sakho should feel the need to be assured. I rate him more than Skrtel, even though Brendan seems to love the guy. If he trains hard and performs well then he should be fine. I really like the look of Gomez btw! But do you reckon Brendan would consider starting him in the centre at his age Ed001? Performing well at wing back so far

That's a better attitude than most players, he just wants to play! Do you think rodgers will give him the assurances. There's never really any media coverage of sakho in England, he seems like a good character in the dressing room and sensible off the pitch too.

We need to keep Sakho, he's our best defender and the only rock in a collection of soft centres.

This is where BR needs to show us all he has some decent man management credentials. Wenger, Mourinho, Ferguson etc all had to deal with big players who wanted assurances as they all had big squads - they all managed it so it can clearly be done if you have the personality and brains.

We should be talking to him about a new contract. he's up at the end of 16/17. I have a terrible feeling Rodgers sees Skrtel/Lovern as our defensive pairing.

My worry is br doesn't rate sakho as much as a lot of us and like others have said br will want skrtel and lovren.!!!!!

Sakho is a terrible defender. If you think he's the best at the club you're deluded big time. Illori and Gomez are great cover for Skertl and Lovern. BR buysall these so called quality young talent so its time he give them a real go instead of £20million+ flops.

Sorry, but i don't get where all this support is coming from for sakho???? i tend look away when he is on the ball, I've not seen a player so uncomfortable passing the ball in years.
He may well be a solid defender but i'm sorry, for me he is not LFC quality., far from it. right from the first time i saw him i said he was a donkey, i still say it.

Sakho is a very good 'Defender'. He is not a very good ball playing CB, which is what BR seems to prefer. Personally I would rather Sakho/Lovren, concentrate on defending and a Deeplying midfielder worried about building play, using full backs to give width and space. Much like must other teams.

You don't see Arsenal expecting much from Mertasaker or even Chelsea who have 2 very comfortable Centre Backs with the ball, they do just enough, give an option and then move it on. I think the technical term for BRs tactics is fanny about, invite pressure, sign a new defender when they f'up, blame the other coaches.

I will love and support the Reds and everyone who wears the shirt, but that doesn't mean I'm not holding my breath waiting for a panic clearance or misplaced pass every time Sakho is on the ball. Latter stages of the season I felt that opposing teams really wised up to how nervous he was on the ball. They sat back and then attacked on mass as soon as he received the ball.
As I said, I will support him and everyone else to the hilt when wearing our red shirt, just not sure how he's considered our best defender by so many.
