Eds any chance of Pirlo - would be ace! {Ed001's Note - no.}

Any chance in a slow highly paid overrated player? Any chance? And before anyone mentions the euros, he got outclassed by any team that closed him down

Yeah mate.......any other players you never knew before euro 2012 u wanna link with us?! Get real!

Im sure he has heard of him mate.. a little more than borini, but obviously you will havesee n him play . No one should expect top end players this year.

any chance of isaac cuenca great talent?

21 Jul 2012 20:51:32
Tom werner just reeled off all the first team players that will be coming over in a couple of days an how good they are! An guess what carrol wasnt mentioned ! He said all the first team players apart from the big fella... am convinced hes deffo going now

woozlfc28

Doesn't mean he's going what so ever, Tom Werner mentioned our bigger named players that have been resting after the euros. If you read the article that was on sky the other day that Rogers stated he'd be assessing Carroll before any decision is made.

He also mentioned Suarez.

He didn't mention downing Agger or Reina either

No he didnt! he missed off more than just Andy! Stop trying to get a story out of nothing!

I thought the same thing when he said that of either he like the rest of us knows Carrolls crap

Actually he mentioned 4 names gerrard, johnson, downing & henderson, not kelly or carroll

Missed off a few others including Reina so take a chill pill :D

From memory he also didn't mention Reina or Kelly.

TSP

If this was a credible source (which it isn't) it means Downing was staying, which is not a good thing whatsoever

He also didnt mention Henderson or reina

He is up for sale, if the right offer comes in, he is gone. Terrible signings last yr. Said it at the time, it was our chance to sign quality and we blew it

21 Jul 2012 20:46:35
Eds, any chance of Jose Callejon, would be a brilliant addition to our attackers?
Cheers YNWA {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any serious interest in Callejon although a number of clubs have apparently enquired as to his availability. I don't see him being made available.}

All!

I would just like to plug my latest profile, if possible Ed.

I have just uploaded a player profile,over on that site of Kevin Mirallas, whom many people have been talking about recently. please go and have a look, see what you think, and I welcome all feedback. How can I improve it etc.

Thanks

Burnsy

You make very good profiles, as good as ed22&3's imo. Quick question, do you get most info from your own sources or this site? Please don't be offended, just wondering as you seem to be very well informed (though aren't most of the users on this site :D), Maybea future ed? Just thinking out loud. Again, very good, detailed profiles which I enjoy reading a lot. Keep up your hard work.

Hi mate.

Most information I can get from Ed's, see what they say etc.

Burnsy

Great one Burnsey. Thanks mate

Michael Laudrup will not stand in Joe Allen's way if the Team GB star wants to leave Swansea.
New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is determined to be reunited with the midfield pass-master, who he managed at the Liberty Stadium last season.
The Anfield club are thought to be lining up a bid of around £12 million for the 22-year-old Welshman and Laudrup, who succeeded Rodgers in south Wales, has admitted that he will discuss any bids with Allen.

Well done for copying what sky said

No m8 he's not standing in his way and having watched him play for team g.b,I can understand why 12 mill is 10 mill to much,

What, how can you judge him over 1 game? A warm up game at that, with players that have not had time to gel. Momma did raise a fool in your case

If Liverpool sign Allen especially for £15 million then it is signs how far you are fallen behind the top 4 clubs. Is he any better than Charlie Adam or henderson. Not really.

What paper did you copy and paste this from? If you claim to have an inside source fine but what you've posted is clearly journospeak!

He is wayyy better than Adam, possibly just better than henderson. You can't be rubbish nad have best passing accuracy in whole of europe just like that.

Yes he is far better than both adam and Henderson actually!

Andy

"Is he any better than Charlie Adam or henderson. Not really.

This statement has just made my day. Are you telling me that a player who was the 6th best passer in Europe is not better than Adam who i guess wouldnt even be in the top 50 let alone 25. Are you telling me that this guy Allen has got more assists than Charlie Adam in the league. We can forgive both Adam and Allen for assists in the cup as usually managers play squad players initially until the quarterfinals stages...
If anything, i would personally carry Adam on my shoulders to whichever club buys him. If Adam's strength is passing, why was he not top of hill in that aspect??. Allen was playing his first season in EPL, Adam his second, you would expect Adam to do much better. I have left Hendo out of this because he has age on his side and will surely mature.

Allen is quicker than Adam btw, so i just dont see how Adam can even make in the first eleven on a regular basis, the guy would need a ticket to get to a ball 10metres from him!!. Allen and Hendo may(in my opinion "will") be the future of LFC. To say Allen is not better than Adam on current basis is just nonsense. For all Adam's Freekicks, did 1 ever go in??. For all Allens passing, only 10% of his passes were off the money ALL SEASON, says alot about who plays his strengths well....I rest my case and hope you realize your error mate....

Blind faith. So what if he was the 6th best passer in Europe. A lot of his passes or square or backwards and go no more than 5 yards. £15 million player he is certainly not. Look at all the top 4/5 teams from last season and they all have better midfield players than Liverpool. Uncertain times ahead I think.

All top 4/5 teams have better midfielders?

Man utd for one have a poor central midfielder which Allen could walk into!

Xavi and iniesta play alot of short passes sideways and backwards, you going to tell me they are poor now?

You can't always provide a killer pass with every pass of the game, keeping possession is the first and most important thing.

Ask yourself this question, if Liverpool keep possession, who's more likely to score? Them or their opponents?

Watch how barca/Spain play, theyare patient, knowing that if they keep moving the ball around and keeping possession that eventually match winning chances will come. They don't panic if they get to the 88th min of a match and it's still 0-0, they stick to their beliefs, which is why they are 2 of the best teams in the world.

Andy

You must be joking! Have you watched him play? He is a donkey. Villa would be well rid.
People complain about Carroll, he is a king compared to Gabby.
CR

We will sign him but no where near that sort of money,7m max will buy him great little player too have,jay essex red for life red till dead

Cannot believe you are trying to compare Allen with Iniesta and Xavi. Deluded.

Hi eds, posted a few weeks ago about Luc Castaignos and heard today from my same source that there remains interest. Stumbling block may be inter prefering a loan deal which may not suit Liverpool. Watch this space I guess but interest and discussions have taken place I'm told.

Andy {Ed002's Note - Although FC Twente are in talks with Inter it is not absolutely certain that Luc Castaignos will leave this summer. I suspect if he leaves it will be a permanent transfer rather than a loan that Inter will be looking at - although a poor season means it may be difficult to find a club willing to take him on a permanent basis. Feyenoord, Everton, Fulham, QPR and West Ham have also shown interest. So Liverpool will need to move quickly.}

21 Jul 2012 17:25:08
Eds, Have Liverpool dropped their interest in Lucas Piazon? Or were we ever interest? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has never been interested in Lucas Paizon. He is settled in London.}

21 Jul 2012 14:59:10
Hi all, only my 2nd time posting. Other time was last yr when i posted Dempsey was of interest. Eds said villa were interested but now he is close to joining us. This time i'm hearing we are interested in gabby agbonlahor. Brendan is a big fan and feels he can utilise his pace across the front 3 as well as inproving him technically. i'm not saying he will join but there is def interest. Any news on this Eds?

Based on your apparent last rumour then, we'll sign Agbonlahor sometime next year. Thanks for the heads up! Why don't you do the lottery any more Mystic Meg?

Since you're the one bringing us this 'news', perhaps YOU could tell US if there is more to it!

21 Jul 2012 14:56:19
Heard that Liverpool are scouting a young Argentine defender called Leonel Galeano. Anyone know anything about him or can confirm? My mate doesnt usually chat rubbish. The Gringo

This kid is very good in my opinion. Could be a future star defender

The guy has talent maybe still a bit to young to move to us though

Just to let you all know - I have just posted a very detailed profile on Dempsey over on the player profile site.

As he is a player that Liverpool may shorty sign, I would advice you to go over to the site and have a look. Also, I know that another poster has also made a good profile about Dempsey, so please have a look at that one too.

I have spent around a week on my profile and have put as much detail into it as possible. I really hope you all enjoy it, and I look forward to your comments, criticism and banter.

Thanks

Burnsy

Thank You :)

Cheers Burnsy, nice work.

You put a lot of work into that profile, Burnsy. Such work doesn't deserve criticism. Thank you very much, my friend. You did a magnificent job on that profile.

SUMON VAI

From my previous reply saying i couldnt find, it, i finally found it, and good work

If we shorty sign him does he only have to sign his initials?

Where is the Clint Dempsey profile? It's not on the player-profile page ??

People on here slating Allen..... He played well for Swansea last season.....if we do buy him then il be happy because Lucas is just coming back from a serious injury and will take time to get back to how he was playing before the injury, gerrard is too injury prone for me, so that leaves us with Adam, Henderson, spearing, shelvy and aquilani, well aquilani will get sold, shelvy will go out on loan, spearing just isn't good enough n should be sold, yes he's a work horse but I'm sorry he doesn't add anything to our team, it's pointless in keeping him, Henderson will be better this season if we play him in his natural position in middle of midfield , I'd keep hold Adam too.... Plus get Allen n our midfield will look alot better.....

I dont see the point in keeping Adam if we get Allen and I hope that Shelvey stays in our first team and doesn't go out on loan, he was looking very sharp at the end of last season and could be the attacking midfielder with Allen and Lucas behind him.

Anonyred

What an person. people like you have`nt a clue. this is why Liverpool fc is were it is today because we are happy buying second rate players. your happy with Henderson, Shelvey, spearing, Adam, and signing players like Allen. when the likes of chelsea, utd, city, spurs buy class every year and we spend stupid money on crap. no wonder we will never compete. and what hope do we have when are manager states the we will sign a player who is a fantastic player. and will get all the fans excited. then he signs borini.

I reckon in the long term Shelvey could well be a natural replacement for Gerrard. He has that rough diamond look that Gerrard had at the end of the ninetees early 2000's. He can grow into some player in my opinion, where as Spearing has been given plenty of opportunity to shine and has not helped himself one bit.
Rik int Wirral

For he people who watched team GB play they will know that Allen has played very well. Looked sharp on and off the ball and his movement was excellent. People who calls him second rate doesn't understand that he is a player that Rodgers needs in his system while other players are still trying to adapt to the new system. If you look into our midfield, none of them are too mobile or willing to run for the whole game except Henderson, which is key tot the new system.

People who says you need class players to compete knows nothing about football. I wonder how good Messi, Xavi and Iniesta were before Tiki-Taka took over the world. And I wonder how world class players like Henry and Ibrahimovic did in Spain?

Its all about the system and finding players to fit into the system, not how much or how famous players are. Supporters that can't even accept new ideas and philosophies is the reason why Liverpool is in today's state.

STB

What we must bare in mind is the fact that we outplayed most teams last season we just couldn't score!
Our season really went wrong when Adam got injured at QPR....he is quality just needs the confidence rather feel he needs to pass the ball to Gerrard everytime he gets the ball....that goes for the rest of the team too! I agree Spearing must go....even my 6 year old son thinks he's not good enough!

Your 6year old son is not only right about Spearing, he can probably play better as well. Spearing cost us several games last season all on his own.

Not sure why people are complaining about Allen, he would be a good signing for us, also means we should be able to ship out Adam and Spearing two very poor players, to the fans saying about the players who chelsea, city & utd sign, do you not understand we do no t operate at that level anymore, we can not compete with what these clubs can offer players either wages nor access to the CL.

Your 6 year old son is probably taller too

Red Raw

Spearing not good enough should stay on the wirral with tranmere n adam at blackpool with the rest of the donkeys shelvey has promise n should stay

Hey eds, any chance of us signing Van Persie?

DTOX {Ed002's Note - I would not think there is any chance at all.}

The days of us buying the very best have been flushed away by the tightwad Yonks. They have made us into another Stoke or Fulham.

RVP wants a world class club, were just world renouned.... Bring back the good times Brendan

I'd say it was more to do with the fact that we haven't had champions league for the last 3 seasons. It's a circle, if we get into the champions league we'll have the extra income to buy players and will be able to attract top players.

The previous yanks were tight, but nobody can honestly say the current owners aren't committed after spending £120m last year after wiping nearly £300m of debt when taking over the club.

Andy

They only spent money that was there. Money for Mascherano, Alonso and Torres paid for the signings. No new Stadium and BR getting only 30 mill to spend. FSG need to look at the City and the Chavs "projects". That's what I call owning a club.

Who asks these questions?

There have to be at least half a dozen CL clubs in England, Italy and Spain interested in him. Unless he has some special affection for Liverpool (I don't think he does) it's not going to happen.

- Something Red -

Why even ask such a stupid question?according to rvp arsenal cannot match his ambitions so how on earth can liverpool.arsenal are in a much better position than liverpool

All the news rumour articles relating to Dempsey have been taken off the official website, media watch section. Similar to what happened with Borini? One I always saw was I think from the mirror stating 'Reds have Clint in their eye'. All have been removed and perhaps an announcement is imminent. Eds has anything developed?

Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed002's Note - I understand that efforts are being made to get a deal in place with Dempsey.}

Ed - I think Dempsey is exactly what we need - would be very happy if we landed him.
Obviously I'm not asking for percentages or anything, but would you say Dempsey is the most likely forward to be signed.
I would imagine Carrol would pretty much have to leave if Demosey joins? Would you agree?
Also, would you think a deal for Carrol to leave would have to be pretty much tied up before commiting to buy Dempsey?

Great site, thanks for your hard work.

Eddie {Ed002's Note - There is every chance Dempsey will join.}

Ed, is there anything is this Adam swap deal as far as you know?

In my mind, it fits. Murphy leaving Fulham, Dempsey is going to go and with Allen likely to arrive then a midfielder (I'm hot counting Aqua as I'm sure he is off anyway) has to go.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know if there is or not.}

We need Dempsey or someone in that role regardless of carrol leaving.
Bare in mind Bellamy may well leave after the olympics.

So dempsey arriving will have nothing to do with Carrol.

Logic Liverpool Lad

If we sign dempsey surely we need makepeice as they coma as a team 'dont they#

Disagree Logic lad,
Bellamy going (if he does) will be balanced by Borini coming in? Also Joe Cole can play as one of a front three.
I believe the club would be more comfortable bringing in Demosey if Carrol was moved along, and was asking the Ed if he agreed.
Thanks for your input all the same.

Qestion for eds: Has any club tabled an official bid for Luis right now? Singred {Ed002's Note - There remains interest from several clubs and at least one have made contact with Liverpool. I don't know of any offer on the table.}

Ed do you think rodgers was lying when he said that suarez told him he wants to stay and that the club want him to sign a new deal? {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure Rodgers would not lie to the fans.}

Ed then in that case surely suarez is staying? {Ed002's Note - Surely.}

21 Jul 2012 10:48:51
Laudrup says he is ready to sell Allen to Liverpool. Eds how long are Liverpool in the States? Can we sign him before the squad are home again?
DanielDenmark {Ed002's Note - They will return on the 29th I think. There is nothing to stop any transfers going through before then.}

The people that do the transfers don't go to America on tour. Any transfers in and out continue as normal irrespective of where the team are.

Rodgers and liverpool made an agreemnet not to raid swansea for 12 months.

That's great news if true... Do you have a link?
As far as this supposed agreement goes it is negated if the player is made available (I.e Swansea want to sell), if another club makes a bid for a Swansea player, or if a player hands in a transfer request.

So forget about this agreement.

Eddie

Borussia dortmund 24 year old winger, Kevin Grosskreutz, has expressed his desire to move to the premiere league with his preference being Liverpool. There hasn't been any reported interest in the german international from Liverpool, but could be using this statement to spark a move to his favourite club. It will undoubtedely be good move for both parties as Liverpool are looking to strenthen their attack particularly on the wing.

Dorset red {Ed002's Note - Previously he said he wanted to move to Arsenal.}

21 Jul 2012 10:21:45
Ed002 as its almost certain that Carroll will leave and its possible Suarez may go this summer. Do we have any plans to bring any strikers in? I know Dempsey is a target but I just hope we don't get left short before the start of the season. Also is Ba a possibility in the Carroll deal?

Thanks mate
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Borini for one. Will the youngsters be given a chance - Adorjan, Ngoo, Adam? I don't know if Ba would be offered nor if Liverpool would be interested but I expect it is not out of the question.}

I often wonder if you have some hidden animus against Liverpool, Ed002. Are you proposing that Liverpool are facing the prospect of having Fabio Borini and Adam Morgan as their starting strikers next year, and that there isn't a whole lot that the team can do about that?

Doubtless, anybody who finds such an eventuality to be horrifying/unacceptable/disgusting in the extreme will be dismissed by you as being utterly unrealistic.

Sorry if I'm misconstruing what it is that you're saying, and sorry again if what I'm saying seems unfair, but I can't help but feel that you do derive a fair bit of pleasure from making Liverpool fans fear for the worst. {Ed002's Note - I did not say that at all. I, like all of the other Eds, are sick of the same questions being asked repeatedly by people who cannot be bothered to read any other posts - look at what I said about Adrian Lopez already today. I am not responsible for Liverpool buying Borini nor for the club spending years training and educating the likes of Adam Morgan. If, as seems obvious, you don't want these players at the club then you need to take action fast - waving flags at Anfield demanding they are sold is a good way of pushing your hate campaign. Twittering how they are not good enough for Liverpool; perhaps a Facebook page seeking support to force the owners to sell them. Borini has not kicked a ball for Liverpool yet, but you and others make it clear that he is not good enough. I have been straight forward and honest and have said the likes of Aguero, Neymar, Cavani, Hazard et al will not be joining Liverpool and where there is interest I am aware of in a player I have said. If I wanted to demonstrate schadenfreude, as you seem to imply, then there is no doubt much I could goad you with - but I don't. I really don't think I am the problem here - you need to look much closer to home. Try searching for "donkey" or glance through the archives after every match last season to understand what your fellow fans think of the players.}

Where do you get " it's almost certain Carroll will leave from " ? - no one at the club has said he will, and allegedly he has said he wants to stay.

John B

Let's hope we don't get Ba, his knees are worse than mine and I'm 38!!! We need a proven prem league/european striker, who? I have no idea. I have given up second guessing as Lpool/FSG as they keep cards to chest and with signings like Borini, who saw that comin?

Suarez is going to join Juve after the Olympics.

Saurez will NOT be joining Juventus, Italian football is struggling financially and they cannot afford his fee and probably not his wages either.

ED002- To be clear, I don't feel that way about Borini at all. I'm actually highly, highly enthusiastic about his signing, and expect that he will do very well in the years to come. Neither do I feel that the likes of Adorjan and Morgan are incapable of stepping up to the plate when they have reached maturation. I do not, however, believe that Borini and a reserve team player can step into the shoes of Suarez and Carroll to lead the line next year.

To conclude- just as I am speculating on the subtext of your posts, I fear that you are making a bit too much of mine. Perhaps some of my irritation with you stems from my outrage at the inanity of Juve's offer for Suarez (Giovinco and Matri? come on!) and my feeling that you believe this to be an offer that Liverpool would entertain.

(The poster above) {Ed002's Note - You are simply making stuff up. It is nonsense.}

I know this wont get posted cos mine never do! {Ed002's Note - It certainly would have been posted but if you write things like this on them they will be immediately cut.}

Thanks to the Eds again. Unbelievable the stick they get on here.

We will likely have something along the lines of Suarez (LRC), Borini (LRC), Dempsey (LRC), Cole (L) and Sinclair (LC) as our main forwards with Suso (R), Sterling (LR) and Morgan (C) as the main back up from the ressies, with others (such as Ibe) progressing too.

People need to stop writing players off before they've even seen them put their boots on. We've had ace players for the past 3 seasons but no Champions League - it's not about the players but how we play, regardless of the bloody names on the back of the shirts. From what I've seen of Borini he looks ace. Dempsey, Suarez and Cole all had very good seasons last year and are class when on form.

Get a grip!

Redge

Hearing today from a juro mate that Skrtel, Suarez, Carroll could all be sold at the right price. Fsg should just sell the club not all our good players.

This not a rumour. It's almost a direct quote from Brendan Rogers and it applies to almost every player at every football club

There is the possibility and probability that 2 out of the 3 actually want to go . Sign kjaer and soldaldo and lets move on with players that actually want to play for the club.. TyRed

Look I don't believe that Suarez will go. Carroll may stay because he gives something different. However I think Skrtel will be on his way.

Suarez caused trouble for the club,carroll doesn't fit the br style and after 1 good season skertel thinks hes god...... sell them for as much as they can if they want to leave and im sure replacements will be bought

That's not from a journo - that came from the BR interview where he said EVERY player has his price, and that if they received a worthwhile offer they would look at it. It's the same with every club, no player at any club would not be sold if their club valuation was met.

John B

Let's be honest none of us are sure if Carroll is gonna make it at Liverpool, skrtl was brilliant last season but can he pass and move? Plus we have replacements in Coates and Kelly. Suarez, I'm getting tired of stressing about his temperament as brilliant as he is so I for one would shed no tears if any of these were sold for bountiful amounts of money to help us rebuild or n carroll's case-cut and run.

If Brendan Rogers even hinted that Stevie Gerrard could be sold he might as well pack his bags and shut the door behind him.

Get new owners

Agree with the 3rd post! If they want out sell them! But get as much money as possible! Skertel had one good season nw he thinks he's bigger than Liverpool!

I'd be lookin close to 90m for all three of them 40-50 Suarez. 20-25 skrtel and as close to 20 for Carroll

Why are some people so stupid.Can,t they see most of what is written is BS to sell papers.
Must admit I am sadly disillusioned with many so called LFC fans this summer.What a miserable load of negative minded sheep.

I do not mind if they were sold. That happens for all clubs. However Certainly they shud be replaced by world class players and the money shud br recycled.

If they want to go, lets get decent money and move on
Suarez does not deserve our loyalty, its only a matter of time before he lets us down again- he didnt even score that many fOr us
Carroll adam downing are not liverpool players, get what we can for them
Skrtel is gOod though, real spirit about him

Those people slagging the owners make me sick They have short memories of the carp we were in a couple of years ago ? If we need to sell to improve then that's what we do ! Remember there is little loyalty in the modern game players come and go ! I believe they really want success and if any player has any doubts about that they should get off including any of the moaning so called fans
L 1

Dont care who goes none of them covered themselves in glory last year in by all accounts a poor league in comparison to what it was some years ago!

Suppose the manager doesn't want Carroll, an OTT offer is made for Skrtel (this guy's had just one top season, remember) and he wants out, and Suarez doesn't shut up about the Evra thing. Right or wrong, the club decided to drop it, that means he has to as well.

Should all of those players still stay?

And suppose we get £60m for them and spend £90m replacing them? Are they still crap owners then?

Think about what you're saying, please.

- Something Red -

If you read the link posted yesterday on Financial Fair Play and Liverpools financial state you'd not be surprised if Carroll, Skryel and Suarez are all sold. It's about the need to sell players above book price and in Carrolls case because BR doesn't fancy him. As Ed02 has been saying there's every chance Luis could leave. I hope not this year but I wouldn't rule it out. The articles from yesterday well worth a read and it should stop all talk of big net spending this summer.

Charlie Adam will be used in a possible deal for Dempsey. He was told y'day before the players left for Toronto. According to reports he didn't look happy at the open training last night.

Does it really work that way? I'm hoping players and contracts are treated with a little more respect or the squad could get disillusioned very quickly. Loyalty works both ways.

A club can tell a player he can be sold or make weight for a purchase but a player can refuse to leave and see out the remainder of his contract...so NO he can not just be told "will be used"....and in a "possible" deal! oh and by the was...the other team does have a say! And which ever low life and person wrote this did really make me laugh with the words "according to reports he didn't look happy at the open training last night"!lol. and whose reports are this....face experts? go get a life and stop talking drivel!

If he doesn't want to be part of any deal, he won't be, it's his choice - advantage of being under contract, he makes the decision, not the club.

John B

Adam was a big fish in a small pond at blackpool looks a bit out of his depth at liverpool to slow

Its not as basic as you have made out but at the same time contract to liverpool or not, liverpool have every right to inclue adam in a swap deal regarless of wheter adam would want to be swapped. He can always turn down the new terms with the new club but why would you want to be at a club that doesnt want you

Why would you want to leave Liverpool and go to Fulham, even if Liverpool don't want him, he can refuse to go - and wages, and being part of Liverpool Football Club is reason enough to stay - a few injuries and he could even get to be a first choice.

I don't understand the big fish in a small pond analogy - doesn't matter who is was playing for, it matters who he was playing well against - and it was other PL sides.

John B

Chuck seems the obvious pawn ,good move for both parties if you ask me just have to wait and see

McGurk

Been saying it for ages makes perfect sense
After Lucas Liverpool need a midfielder with bite better than spearing and let Allen and gerrard do their thing

Read on NewsNow web page LFC on verge of signing Aly Cissokho from lyon 8.7 mil,deal to be done as early as Sunday.
Any truth in this ed,hope so as he is quality! {Ed002's Note - No it is not true. Liverpool has not made any approach for Cissokho this year although there was interest shown last year. I am aware of what his agent has said he would like to move to Manchester United but Napoli or Inter seems a far more likely destination for Aly Cissokho.}

This was a re-prodeuced article from last year mate: Check the dates

There was loads of old articles on news now this morning that sometimes happens.

We have jose and jack robinson young flanno agger if needed other positions such as strikeforce midfield to attend to defence is sound.tommy Irish red.

The newsnow article was published on 16 july 2011..not 2012..its just old news...

There's loads of old articles from nesn on newsnow, since the dempsey has signed srticle, there going into a meltdown, old newz- even has downing might join from villa lol if only we could turn back the clock,

I've noticed there are a lot of reproduced stories from last year by NESN on newsnow this morning including the friendlies in Asia and Kenny's thoughts etc... wish they'd sort themselves out!

Even i saw it today dude but it was a last year article it even said that we have signed charlie adam

Hope not, over rated left back with next to no defensive qualities and a poor attitude, if we are/were sniffing around him we would do well to look elsewhere.

Eds, is it true that afferlay is only 4 mill, and are we interested in signing him? {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this past season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seemed keen to have him as a squad player. However, it looks like Barcelona will now make him available. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold (Although Inter have said they are no longer interested) and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. A move to Lille has been rejected.}

Hi eds I recall you saying juve may have a player exchange deal they will use perhaps with cash to get Suarez of those is their any strikers they will offer? {Ed002's Note - Juve have paid up 11M euros for the remaining 50% of Giovinco but are prepared to let him move on. Their first offer to Liverpool will likely be based on Krasic plus cash. If they can get to a point of negotiation then I understand that Giovinco and Matri are the other bargaining tools they will look to use - although I have been told Matri has already said he has no interest in moving to England. They have been looking to use players in other deals this summer. For example, the offer Juve made for Cavani was a messy cash plus Giovinco plas Matri plus x% ownership of a couple of youngsters. And it is not only them taking this rout as Inter offered cash plus Marco Faraoni, Goran Pandev and Joel Obi for Lavezzi and have recently offered a a deal for a young Brazilian (that Liverpool also looked at) which would see them exchange part ownership in two of their players for part ownership of him. It can be a real mess working this way but in England clubs would prefer to have the cash that gives them options when buying replacements. A search on Giovinco could provide more information.}

I would not like to see Suarez leave.I think he's one of the biggest talents in the Premiership.If he was a Chelsea,or United player.He would not get the press he gets.I don't agree with some of his antics,and I think it will be best for the clubs interest if he moves abroad.I think Giovincho would be a similar type player for us, but Krasic no thank you.

Cash + players won't work surely, if we wanted any of those players then we would have shown intrest. {Ed002's Note - That is the whole purpose of negotiation.}

Hi ED's would it not be possible to ask Juventus for Giovinco and somewhere around the 18M mark for Suarez, yes he is a very special player, but can we risk him affecting our season again. IF he did leave we could buy Matias Suarez and Mirallas. And if Carrol was to leave for Newcastle i would rather have cash, than a player plus cash deal. We could then buy Rondon, doesn't sound too bad does it. We could have attacking options of Rondon, Mirallas, M Suarez, Borini and Giovinco, not too bad for losing two players. ED'S would any of that be possible. Thanks Si {Ed002's Note - If the two clubs get to the negotiating table then Liverpool could ask whatever they wish.}

Any chance of Adrián López Álvarez eds has he been linked to us do you no if he would be available

Shanklys statue {Ed002's Note - Adrian Lopez was of interest to Arsenal but with Podolski and Giroud arriving I would expect that interest to have waned. Spurs interest in the player remains but no bids have been made.

He is available and to me would be a viable consideration for Liverpool.}

Ed do you see us possibly buying him as a replacement for carroll if/when he goes? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest at this time so it would be no more than speculation, but as I have said, a viable option.}

Hello Ed002,
can you see both Carroll and Suarez leave this summer? thank you {Ed002's Note - Sure, it is possible.}

Thats just ridiculous if we do what a joke we turning into.

Why not just sell off the entire 1st team squad and go down 3 divisions like GRangers? All I read on here are people expecting most of our quality players to be sold off.Sell a batch of our regulars and it won't matter who we sign as it will take half a season for the new line up to start playing as a team.

Suarez aint leaving will you get it in your heads!!

Michu has officially signed for Swansea

Hi Eds in a 4-3-3 system i think the midfielder liverpool need to make our middle 3 play the style of football rodgers wants is nuri sahin. i understand there is a high chance he will leave madrid this transfer window. are liverpool any chance of signing him? cheers South Aussie Red {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England - although there could well be interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

Gerrard, Henderson, Aquilani and Shelvey are all capable of playing pass-intensive football so BR has no need to look for an ACM at the moment unless Aquilani moves on. Lucas and Allen, although both better suited to the DM role at the mo, can also play the ACM role if needed. It's forwards BR is looking at, plus Allen and maybe a LB. That's it for now.

Rodgers will NOT play 4-3-3 very often. Majority of games will be 4-2-3-1. Don't fall for the media speculation or player comments.

Hey Eds,

I remember some time in the past year that there were a few rumours flying around that we may be interested in Raffael of Hertha. Is there any information of whether or not we have actually scouted him? Thanks in advance.

Brian from Birmingham {Ed002's Note - Raffael has a decent goalscoring record for sides who have strikers that struggle to get goals. Sampdoria have been after him for a couple of years but a move to Italy seems very unlikely as he is negotiating a move to teh Ukraine with Dinamo Kiev. There was also talk of enquiries from Atalanta and Lokomotiv Moscow during the January window.}

If we are to fail with our pursuit of Dempsey, would Matias Suarez be of interest to us? I wouldn't think he would come cheap, but not dear either.

From what ive seen he's got 2 good feet, can pass, score, has great vision and his stats from last season where brilliant.

Would he be on the radar ed002?

LFC1802 {Ed002's Note - Liverpool along with Bayern Munich, PSG, Zenit, Arsenal, Newscastle, Lazio and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez who has already rejected approaches from CSKA Moscow and Galatasaray. He will need a work permit and not playing for the national team is a major issue against it happening. Claiming on an exception basis will also be difficult for someone of his age. His other option would be to seek a Belgian passport and stay a while longer there. Otherwise, he can move freely to other European countries.}

To Ed002 - How long would the qualifying period for a Belgian passport take? He looks to have all the attributes to make him a success in the EPL. Thanks for any reply. {Ed002's Note - He could probably qualify for one reasonable y soon.}

Rumours abound that there is another club in for Allen can we assume the deal wont be hijacked like the siggurdson deal.
Eoghan Cork

{Ed016's Note - I don't think so. Macca believes a deal is close. I would trust him more than anyone else.}

On wat i seen last night he is not worth anywhere near 15 million .cmv

Well you could almost bet your life its Spurs again!!

No bids for Allen yet, from us or anyone else. I would think we are big favourites to get him after the olympics. We'll probably have a look at Sinclair too as BR really likes him as an option for the LF position. Looking more likely than Walcott or Sturridge at the mo anyways.

You can't base an opinion on a friendly match! I've watched Liverpool pre season for the last few years and no one particular has stood out, it's like watching training.

£15m isn't alot of money in football anymore since man city and Chelsea splashed the cash around, increasing the cost of players, £15m nowadays would get you a player on a level that £5m would have got you 5 years ago.

I thought Allen played fairly well, let's be honest, none of the team gb players stood out and probably weren't expected to given the talent in the brazil team but I thought Allen was solid, consistently breaking up play and more importantly, he never stopped finding space and providing an option for whoever had the ball.

Andy

Savage also said that Gary Speed had told him that Allen was the best player he had ever worked with. High praise indeed.

The only thing you can assume is that it's not sensible to assume anything.

22 Jul 2012 15:47:15
Surely it depends on who the other club is, I'm pretty sure that if the other team pays a lot more a week than we are willing to pay then as we all know in football money talks far more than playing regular football.
Just ask Adam Johnson and other high profile players who spend most of their time getting splinters.
I hope Macca is right, but only at the right price, wouldn't surprise me if the other team is Spurs, as they have already bought the second best midfielder at Swansea last year, why not go for the better one as well.

Is there any interest in Vaclav Kadlec? young talented striker, would fit in Brendan Rodgers system perfectly. well done on a great site aswell!!

20 Jul 2012 23:00:55
Great site Eds, well done . I'm just wondering if Cisse has been mentioned by either Newcastle or Liverpool with respect to a player plus cash deal for Carroll? A front 3 of Suarez, Borini and Cisse would look very promising.

Tks! {Ed001's Note - Newcastle would not be interested in losing him.}

Liverpool basically bought Cisse for them. Why they hell would they want to send him our way? {Ed016's Note - Player swap deals are extremely rare}

Like carrol n 20 mil yeh ashley would go for that behave

Much more chance of Ba coming our way. I doubt we would get much cash out of Newcastle in a swop deal for Ba either-they won't be that desperate. Theres also chatter of swopping Carroll for Cabaye but I can't see Newcastle wanting to lose their best player! I think we'd have to offer Carroll plus cash for Cabaye in their eyes!

It would of been easier for those yonks to buy Newcastle. U seem to wanna buy all of our players.

Cisse is better than carroll so it would be liverpool offering carroll plus cash for cisse

I notice some1 mentioned that it's man u who are the other team interested in joe allen. Do any of the eds know if that is the case and if not do any of u know who it may be?
Thanks as always

SPARKY {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard who the other team is, I don't believe it to be Man Utd though.}

If anyone itll be the spuds they always after our targets

Based on past experience it must be Spurs :-)

20 Jul 2012 22:24:13
Ed's.......do we have any interest in Damiao? He looked certain to leave for Juventus, but that has not happened.

Ozred. {Ed001's Note - not that I know of, there are a few issues around him, which have seen a move to Spurs fall apart in recent years.}

20 Jul 2012 23:57:32
Been speaking to one of our scouts today, he usually just scouts defenders, and he says there are two centre halves we are very interested in if Skrtel decides to refuse a new contract. They are Davide Astori and Omar Toprak. I have never heard of them or seen them play and a quick google search doesnt help much. Even youtube doesnt make them look worldbeaters :)...... dsthe messenger.

David astori is from a italien defender 23,24 years old playes in Cagliari. Omar toprak i turkeys, but i actually think he can play both CB and DM. Both good players.

hej eds, thanks for this great side,
just wanna ask if kevin grosskreuz (borussia dortmund) is an option? I thought we were linked with when KK was at the helm.
he's young, he recently said would love to play at anfield and he's a worker (imo better version of kuyt)
are we looking at him? appreciate oppinions on him toom thx
swissred {Ed001's Note - I have heard of no interest in him, difficult to tell though right now. I can't give you an opinion on him as I haven't seen much of him.}

I don't see him as a better version of Kuyt. I see him as a mediocre player who has benefitted from fitting in the tactics of a very strong Dortmund side.
However, I do think he would fit very well into BR's tactic as well, though this is just a hunch.

Anzhi faxed an improved offer for Skrtel today offering 16m euros. I dont think it will be accepted but he will probably leave if a club offers 20m euros. Brendan wants someone who is quicker and a better ball player for this position. I have no idea who he wants, but can guarantee whoever it is will cost considerably less. I will let you know if anything comes up....im the fax man.

Man city made on offer of 16m£ for skrtel, and and turned that down. So cant how 16m euro is and improved offer. I think they need too put a bid in for at least 20m£ before LFC accepted anything.

Someone who is quicker and better passer like Kelly or Coates for example

One of BR's targets, Steven Caulker, has just signed a new deal at Spurs.

Quicker and a better ball player - looks like Carra might as well hang up his boots right now!
