I think we join the race for Gary Cahill's signature! Our defense is dodgy and the good centre halfs we have are injury prone and carra is not getting any younger.
Cahill would be ideal or even Jagieka but he's a blue... thoughts ?

I'd rather not think about it at all...they are both dire....
Iggypop

Erm...What about Sebastian Coates? I think he has the potential to be better than Cahill.

Carra needs to go,he is a liabality at this point,time to drop him now and build for the future,pd

Agreed, Carra will be 34 in a few months time. Time for him to spend more time on the bench. And we still need another top quality centreback because Carra's getting older and past it, Agger's gets injured too often, and Skrtel is just a slightly better than average defender, Coates is still young and will need time to adjust to EPL.

We should defo go all out for Lavezzi now its been revealed he's got a buy out clause in his contract of 26mil. We'd face stiff competition but with the South American and Spanish speakers at the club he might fancy it. Jonson6

But he is not proven. Too expensive for a player that is unproven.

People say he has the potential to be one of the best, but at the age of 26 shouldn't he already be at his best?

If we want to win the league, we need to attract better players than him.

I completely disagree with the 2nd poster. this guy is a very talented footballer. I think 26m is a fair price considering the value of some of todays players

Yes he is proven. That's why he is so highly rated by the Napoli fans.

Adam

At least see 2/3 Napoli match befor say he not proven. he is like rocket in the field. and euro 26 m is like £20m so its a good price. and he will be rock solid with Suarez.

I Have three words plus add ons lol
MAKE IT HAPPEN

2

Yea get him now,whilst others appear have targets elsewhere

Alright then, tell me at what stage in his career has he proven himself? Of course Napoli fans love him. He's their number 2 striker and scores occassionally. They support their squad, clearly unlike some of us.

We loved many players who we let go of this summer because they didn't prove themselves, yet we supported them regardless. The Italian league is rubbish and cannot touch the speed, brutality and skill of the EPL.

He is a good player but not an amazing striker. Yes he has quick feet and good movement but consistently scores less than 10 goals a season.

WE NEED A STRIKER WHO SCORES AT LEAST 20 goals a season!

Finally, don't compare us to Napoli. We are LFC and we have much higher expectations than them.

Yeah we have higher expectations than them were looking to get into champs league maybe title although not yet whilst napoli are looking at copa italia, serie a, and champions league titles at this momment in time they have the higher expectations also when we played napoli he scored against and ran the defence ragged only reason we surpassed them was cos of stevie g gettin a hat trick also he went to man city and ran their defence all over the park granted not scoring but having a good 5 or so chances.

Also lets look at his internatipnal career slowly edging his was into argentina first team...
He would be the ideal partner up front for suarez id genuinely say hes quicker than babel. He is sheer class

Not a rumour more a 'you never know, it could happen...'
I can actually see a scenario where AC goes back to Newcastle in Jan if things haven't improved for him. Lfc would say something along the lines of 'he couldn't settle in the area/missing his family/ it's the right thing'. Newcastle take him on Loan with a view to buying in summer or for the ol chestnut 'undisclosed fee' which I reckon wud be £20-25 mil.
At the same time I wouldnt be surprised if FT did the same at chelski, if he was on a downer too. Same, loan to buy or undisclosed approx £25-£30m. And when you think about it in a financial and player quality sense isn't too bad.
v plausible IMO and stranger things have happened.

This is NOT a get AC out but more a theory. How do you guys feel about this, putting all the nonsense of FT (and his miss!) to one side?

Sinner786

Very unlikely, but that doesn't mean people don't want it to happen.

Anyone who says they'd rather AC than FT is lying.

maka

Great idea , but cant see it happen. Torres will go back to spain , if any where. Carroll needs to get fit and work on his touch

Your an idiot,another stupid remark. give it up

Sadly Torres would not be welcome back after what he said and the way he left - which is really unfortunate and not a nice situation, as this was a guy who when paired with Gerrard gave supporters hope in any game, in any sitation that we could always win. He was the best finisher in the league bar none, the most popular player in the league and loved by the best fans in the league, but threw it all away. So now we move on with hope in our hearts and a team in progress with the King of Kings at the helm. We have a new rising star in Luis Suarez who believes in the Liverpool so we must back him, Kenny, Gerrard and the rest of the boys as they will deliver the goods. A little patience is required from all, with Gerrard, Suarez, Downing, Kuyt and Bellamy we have strong attacking and experienced players each with their own qualities, combined together with Lucas they will without a doubt be very strong indeed. So stop bickering amongst yourselves and concentrate on the next game as your bitchin at each other about sh1t and uneducated opinions incredibly dull. If you have an opinion that is considered, takes all factors into account and not just what you saw after a few beers then share it, otherwise keep it to yourself.

Ashley will never part with 20-25mill
JJ blackpool

There are not to many strikers who have left Liverpool to go on to better things. He has 2-3 years max in prem. He knee is not in good shape he will probably go back to Spain. Also stevie g and few others were disapointed in how he left Liverpool. It's going to be FT biggest regret.

Why are you calling him/her an idiot. He/She just put in a theory and ask what you think. People are entitle to their opinions you know. It seems like you are the idiot. What a tool. Anyway I wouldn't mind if that happened. However we need to give AC time he is young and for the future.

Id prefer Andy C to Torres and Im not lying. He's a striker who scores more goals. Fact. He gets less injuries. He is younger and has room to improve. When the team is faltering, he tries harder instead of sulking. Fernancy will only get slower - we had his best years and Chelski are welcome to him now.

You're prob right re ashley not parting with such an amount, but the prodigal son returning...can you imagine the PR he'd get out of it :)

as for FT saying what he said etc. but i do think some of this is media manipulation. suppose he was offered the chance, granted we're not in CL, but he knows a few words of regret and he's be back on side, no?

as for AC, i'm not sure re his touch. you've either got it or you haven't and the way his touch was so heavy on sunday tells me the latter. at his age it's difficult to teach that. i appreciate he's raw but for the last 4-5 years he's been training with the 1st teams so to speak, surely he would have improved?

the daft thing is i do want him to do well, but i see it let's say 'difficult'. that's why the he's not settled might be more of a way out for all

sinner786

On what basis r u saying that carrols fitness is better than torres's? Torres is n will always be better than carrol, who is an absolute waste of space. If newcastle offered 15 million for him, i wud take it without a second thought.
Indian Buzzer

I've just watched Torres's miss for the first time. My god, he makes Ronny Rosenthiel look magnificent.

cozinoz

Sinner786, you have SINNED.

FT will never be bought back. You and all dreamers should get that into your heads. We do not want him back. Period.

It's time to stop this Judas nonsense.

In addition, look at how his performance has been at chavski. AC will prove himself sooner rather than later. He's young, has the qualities and will perform very soon. Judas is on the way down. We were very fortunate to have got rid of him for 50m. no chance in hell will we take him back. We would be shooting ourselves in the arse!

I have been disappointed with Carrolls performances so far, but we need to remember that he is 22 and needs to settle. It cant be easy with a £35m price tag, and every scouse fan expecting 20+ goals a season etc. Us and Newcastle play differently and he needs to adapt. For that reason whilst a plausable option, I can't see it happening. As for Torres, after his comments, he wont be welcomed back, and I feel that his injuries have hampered him some what. He looked good in the CL and did finish well against the mancs, but he is not looking sharp as he did when he started with us. Like the above comment, if he goes, it will be back to Spain, where the slower pace of the game will be better for his speed etc. We need to start looking forward now anyway, and not bringing back ex players. Okay Bellamy was an exception as he is more a stop gap and was a free (I beleive). Hopefully a good show at Brighton and then Wolves can get us back on track.

I remember when Rushie said he didnt wanna go to Juventus, just before his last yr here was up. Then he r-signed for us after a yr.
I think the Mancs had a mega-signing in the early 80s who only lasted about 90 days.
Clearly Torres and Carroll back to their "true" clubs makes huge sense. IF Torres's fitness inc full pace is back.

Anyone who believes Nando forced a move is an idiot. And Carroll clearly isnt arsed about life at the 5x European champions. Hed rather get hammered in a club in Bigg Market {Ed001's Note - anyone who doesn't believe Torres forced the move is an idiot as he did force the move. There is not even a doubt about that, why make yourself look so stupid by trying to deny it??}

Torres played Utd by himself the other day. I think him up top with Suarez dropping deeper would have been amazing.
But it's never going to happen, Lfc will not buy any explosive/pacy players (at that price) who are past 25 and have had injury probs.

Carrol has no touch at all, that is why we resort to playing it long when he is on the pitch. He was always the laughing stock of NUfc, and I know people who used to go and watch training up there just to see how inept he was. Don't care tho as long as he scores lots. He's ours now, so lets big him up....... Defenders are scared off him, and he will create space for Suarez and Stevie G.

Oh and to the guy who put "period", this site has a .co.uk address so keep to speaking English please. I believe they are called full-stops, unless you really were talking about a woman's monthly cycle!

Bram

FAO Ed001. 1st is there any need to throw insults?
2nd - check your facts please. JWH is playing u. Remember the derisory offer for Suarez? Nando was under contract and just wanted promises that we'd see net spends. We saw NO net spends. NESV wanted the money AND the wage reductions.
If Nando had permanently lost his pace, 50m is a good sale. But with his head and pace right, Nando would be/ is worth more.

I hope Carroll ( and NESV!) will come good. But in all objectivity it looks like a bad joke at the moment.
I'd take a fast Nando( or similar) over Mr Ponytail in a flash!

Bet they're plotting a potential Suarez sale as we speak. Cue the "no ones bigger than the club" statements in the press. {Ed001's Note - if you say so, but you are clearly clueless and know nothing about the subject. Perhaps you have forgotten that Torres wanted out in the previous summer too? The man was desperate to leave the club, he had fallen out of love with it, there is no doubts that he went because he chose to. Anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or knows nothing, which are you?}

There is no chance Ashley would spend anything like 20m plus for Carrol
And its sure as shyte he wouldn't pay his wages hes on now, don't forget Newcastle have just spent all summer clearing the wage bill

Pardoe

Hey Ed001 - as a Sunderland fan just scanning your site you are getting some good banter from people with football brains. (Better than the total crap and abuse we get from the thick Mags). Think you should let them have their opinions without your harsh comments. After all that's the purpose here isn't it?

I was at Anfield for the first game of the season and got to say I had a hell of a day out. Had some great banter with your fans, you are proper footy mad just like us. We were damn lucky to go in 1-0 down at half time but in the end could have nicked it.
You will come good this season, no worries, just need to be patient with your new signings. God knows we've had to be, we suffered before beating Stoke 4-0 and hope its starting to gel a bit. Hopefully we can give you a cracking game when you come up to SOL.

Ild take that tomorrow!especially carrol part.lads far to immobile.crouch and adeybyour big lads.but they can move!

ed do you think we would get gaston ramirez. his club president told that there is a good chance we will buy him(insidefutbol).
st
YNWA {Ed009's Note - I think that if we make an approach, which is a possibility, we could certainly get him. At the same time though, it is very early on, and I can't see many players coming in, unless some leave.}

Why do we have to sell??? it's not as if we're scint!

Ed009, what do you mean if some players leave? We've gotten rid off most of them. Are you having a laugh? Strongly disagree with you.

{Ed006's Note - 009 is not about at the moment so I will try to answer. What he meant is say if in January a player wants to leave and we sell them then we will sign someone to replace them.}

Players Who i think we will sign

Lavezzi (to partner up with suarez)
Ganso (because we despretaly need a creative mid) or gotze (fav german player)
And Hazard btw ths is for the next 2 tranfer windows !

Ed; Take this on roumours site!; From 1 too 10 how good chance have wee too buy this players; Jan Vertoghen,Christian Eriksen, Gary Cahill and Gasto Ramirez in January ? And from 1-10 good chance are that wee selling this players in January; Brad Jones, Fabio Aurelio, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger. {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to this now but there may be a very slim chance of Cahill, no chance of Ericksen and the others seem unlikely. Brad Jones is to be released - and I don't know when this will be. I have no idea what will happen with the others at this early stage.}
