By the way, for those of you so concerned about where all these incoming players are going to fit, LFC and Stoke have reached an agreement for Joe Allen for 13 million pounds (Paul Joyce) . The clear out continues.

Believable15 Unbelievable10

20 Jul 2016 21:27:32
Does Joe Allen even want to go to Stoke do you know Eds?

Agree4 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - He will want to consider any offers made.}

20 Jul 2016 21:42:15
Could do well there. Have to say though, never considered Allen when I was thinking about fitting in the many new midfield players.

Agree6 Disagree5

21 Jul 2016 04:11:01
13mil for such a stellar performance at Euro is outrageously low.

Agree3 Disagree10

21 Jul 2016 06:22:32
He only has one year left on his contract, that's reflected in the price.

Agree10 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - I think we are lucky to get that much for him personally. A player who can barely get a game? We are lucky we don't have to give him away.}

21 Jul 2016 14:15:35
With you on that, Ed. I`ll take the money and run before they change their minds, frankly.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2016 21:07:51
Ed's have we accepted a bid from Stoke for Allen?

Believable6 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - THere has been an offer but I don't know if it has been accepted.}

21 Jul 2016 01:28:30
Confirmed by ESPN and The Echo. Never quite fit Klopps plans.

Agree5 Disagree1

21 Jul 2016 15:43:52
It better be accepted as we are good at pricing out our players from moving elsewhere.

A few papers are reporting that Stoke have had a 14mil bid for Joe Allen accepted by Liverpool.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Wish him all the best if he does go, decent lad and a good footballer just never used in the right way for most of his time here.

Agree12 Disagree9

21 Jul 2016 06:54:38
I echo those thoughts frankly but also I have to be honest and say he was never good enough for us in the 1st place, however I wish him well wherever he ends up.

Agree4 Disagree1

21 Jul 2016 08:25:23
He probably wasn't, but you have question the manager who brought him in.

Agree3 Disagree1

21 Jul 2016 14:16:31
Frankly, no use questioning the manager who bought him as it is just too painful.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2016 20:09:26
Flanagan could be going to Burnley on loan for the season.

Believable1 Unbelievable14

{Ed002's Note - Even Klopp would not be stupid enough to buy a player to replace one going on loan.}

20 Jul 2016 20:21:49
What do you mean by "Even Klopp"? Not suggesting anything, just interested by what you mean by that.

Agree2 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - It is plain English - you should be able to grasp what it means.}

20 Jul 2016 20:22:15
Ed what's your reasons for not being a Klopp fan. Do you not rate him as a manager. You often make comments such as "even klopp" wouldn't be that stupid which suggests that you ain't impressed or convinced of his abilities.

Agree2 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - I have explained about Klopp in the past.}

20 Jul 2016 20:43:05
Ed 002, can you explain again for me please or is there an area I can look for, for your comments on Klopp? Just interested as most fans are completely in love with the guy.

{Ed002's Note - try the search engine.}

20 Jul 2016 21:12:06
Ed2 you are underrating Klopp at your peril.

Agree6 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - It was a compliment - perhaps we need brighter posters who understand that. Judging by the responses clearly the knuckle-dragging morons are out in force again this evening. In the meantime keep celebrating the failure.}

20 Jul 2016 21:23:05
Ed002's whose the player you are suggesting we have bought to replace the out going flannagan.

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}

20 Jul 2016 21:53:57
It was a dig at Brendan and/ or past management.

20 Jul 2016 22:47:33
Hi Ed002 not trying to wind you up here but i would really like to read your opinion of Klopp. I have tried the search function but had no luck, could you send me a link or a search word to read your views

Thanks

Gary (not a knuckle dragger)

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - There is no link - but you should be able to find something on the web site.}

20 Jul 2016 23:39:27
Who cares if Ed002 rates Klopp or not. He is going to be here for another 6 years and will take Liverpool to newer heights. Atleast, the majority of the Kop are behind him. Your welcome :)

Agree14 Disagree0

21 Jul 2016 00:38:37
Ed02 - You are a Chelsea fan aren't you, or have some links? What are your initial thoughts on Conte as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are on the wrong page - this is the Liverpool page.}

21 Jul 2016 07:29:46
I'm not speaking for Ed002, I'm not qualified to do that but I believe I can give a flavour of ed002's thoughts on Klipperty.
-Ed002 has met Klipperty and doesn't dislike him.
-Like all managers, Klipperty is nothing special, he's a man doing a job of managing a football club not some mercurial genius. As Klipperty himself said "I'm the normal one" and I think ed002 agrees.
-Klipperty had problems in his last season in Dortmund because he failed to adapt his tactics of 'gegenpress' or 'Kopflose Hühne' or 'blitz football'. Ed002 has not seen any evidence of Klipperty adapting his tactics yet.

I think basically ed002 does not have these outrageous expectations of Klopp's time at LFC like I do 😎 because ed002 is a realist whereas I'm a crazy fan who's hopelessly optimistic 😄. It's nothing to do with Chelsea.

Agree9 Disagree2

21 Jul 2016 08:10:06
Would just like to state that klopp will only sign players who WANT to play for LFC and not come here for money.

Good evening Eds, Was wondering if there is any updated news on Benteke's departure from the club? Is the bid from palace still alive or has it failed, does seem to be taking its time this one.

With regards to GW I don't understand the furore I think we could potentially do better but what do I know, I think as fans we have to support every player that joins us and trust in Klopps decisions after-all that is what he is paid to do.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Crystal Palace has not made an acceptable bid and will be considering their options.}

20 Jul 2016 14:52:53
Good afternoon ED001

I have done a search but found no updates on the Gary "Pitbull" Medel rumours that surfaced a couple of days ago, and I was wondering if you did that triple check to find out?

I very rarely write in about rumours, but this would be the coup of the summer, if true that is?

Thanks in advance Ed.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - I am still waiting to hear back, he is another one that we have not been tracking, so it would be a spur of the moment move if we are trying to get him. Similar to Wijnaldum. Hopefully Klopp's spur of the moment purchases are better than mine.}

20 Jul 2016 15:43:56
Thanks for your reply mate

I really hope it happens, but can't help but think it is just another name that has been randomly pulled out of the bag by the red tops et al

Fingers crossed.

I like him as a player myself, but one of my mates is a massive Inter fan. When I mentioned it he was more than happy to say the least, said we'd be better off with Brozovic but he wouldn't want him to leave.

Time will tell though. I'd love him, bodies flying everywhere! be great!

Apparently gw has pulled out the squad to face Doncaster and a deal could be completed by the end of the week.

Seriously hope we don't waste valuable funds on him. We're not flush and can't afford to make expensive mistakes and this boy is a very expensive mistake.

Agree4 Disagree24

20 Jul 2016 13:34:39
I'm actually up for it. Klopp got a tune out of a average squad GW was on board a sinking ship . Get behind the lad instead of hanging him before he has kicked a ball . Support first and give criticism when due . Young and talented and klopp won't suffer fools in sure he has briefed the lad on what is required. No passengers.

Agree14 Disagree7

20 Jul 2016 13:37:04
frankly please stop replying to every GW post you are embarrassing yourself and klopp knows better than you peroid.

Agree21 Disagree8

20 Jul 2016 13:51:53
Over paying again, but Newcastle always fleece us, hopefully he feels he needs to improve and klopp can get him working hard, if he gives 100 % that's all we can ask for.

Agree1 Disagree7

20 Jul 2016 13:53:12
He was playing out of position slot last season as well, he's certainly not a left mid.

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - every time I have seen him play, as a youngster, he played on the left.}

20 Jul 2016 13:55:41
Had we signed him directly from PSV last year I would have been excited by this signing but I am cautious after his performances for Newcastle. I am hopeful though that playing in a team with more quality around him will inspire him to work a lot harder than he seemed to at Newcastle. We need more goals from midfield and providing he has been signed to play in central midfield its a signing I believe can work out even if it appears a bit risky and expensive. Saying that we did get 15 million for Ibe and actual money for Skrtel so it's not all bad.

Agree7 Disagree4

20 Jul 2016 14:47:49
soton also fleece us lol, I can't see klopp or the rest of the lads putting up with him if he doesn't put the effort in. If the lad comes in scores a few goals all the haters will be loving it so i say give him a chance to prove his worth!

Agree6 Disagree4

21 Jul 2016 15:47:15

Hi Eds and Reds.

Just wanted to find out if we've had any further interest in Subotic?

I see nothing has been posted in a while about him and the move to Boro seems to of broken down.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - No.}

20 Jul 2016 12:23:15
We have just signed Ragner, so doubt any more centre backs really, but we do like to have strength in numbers on certain positions so you never know lol! Ps I do like that name Ragner, it just sounds like a no nonsense name, or is that because I watch Vikings?

Subotic failed his medical at Mid per Echo.

Agree0 Disagree2

21 Jul 2016 20:42:16
He hasn't just failed his medical, he has been told he is unlikely to play football again. He has a heart problem which is getting worse. Dortmund obviously know this and recognise that no club will buy him.

Hi eds,

Is there any truth in the rumours linking Origi to Athletico if they can't get Diego Costa back?

I for one hope there isn't any truth in this as I believe that Origi will establish himself as a very important player for us this season.

Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

19 Jul 2016 21:54:55
Hi Eds. Great job as always. Would I be right in thinking that Liverpool would want this potential signing of Wijnaldum completed before the US trip? Or would they be happy if he, or Any signing met the squad out there? I personally like the fact we seem to be doing our business quickly at the start of the window. Also do you have any info on what Klopp may think of the academy kid, Brookes Lennon? Seems decent, what I have seen. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - yes, it is seen as an easy quick deal to make. Which worries me, as we have not done the usual research, we have taken a punt on a player offered to us. Rather than spending a long time tracking the lad and looking at him properly, checking out his background etc, we have been offered him, Klopp liked the look of him, so we have bought him. I really do not like that. Those are the transfers that usually go tits up.}

20 Jul 2016 05:59:46
Ed01, it sounds worrying from the sound of it. Fingers crossed.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - we just have to trust in Klopp, only time will tell, but I would prefer it if we just went and got those we targeted, rather than failing because we messed them about and end up jumping on a similar player offered to us. Due diligence has not been done and those kind of deals are a much bigger risk.}

20 Jul 2016 06:43:53
Hmm interesting! Folk may think, it may even be so, that research has not been undertaken but it seems a little unfair that a high number of fans seem to be sub-conciously claiming to have better instinct or talent spot capabilities than a proven Man-Management Manager, one who seemingly gets the best out of players with differing backgrounds. For what it is worth having spent a good time in Rotterdam and getting to see this man at his first club, for me I expected a big (maybe bigger) move much sooner. He is a goal scoring Midfielder with ability to change games and let's not forget he top scored in a relegated team with only 2 fewer goals than the top LFC scorer (DS)! Write this man and Klopp's ability to bring the best out of him at your peril but, at least as Ed001 is reluctantly seeming to do, give it a chance!

Agree21 Disagree4

20 Jul 2016 07:17:49
What worries me Ed1, is the abundance of attacking midfielders we're buying. It makes me think that Klopp expects to lose a couple.

I personally don't think Wijnaldum is good enough to replace any of them, unless Klopp is going to tell him he needs to work his arse off to succeed.

Agree5 Disagree5

20 Jul 2016 07:20:07
I work with a lot of Geordies (a few of them being season ticket holders) . The general opinion on GW from these fans is he's lazy, inconsistent and not the type of player they want at there club. I'd take the opinion of people watching the player week in week out, at the ground over the MOTD fans any day. The general consensus was Rafa doesn't like him and the performances of the team went up when he started to leave GW out near the end of the season. Let's hope they are wrong and he ups his effort for us! YNWA.

Ed, you mentioned about we've bought him, so are we safe to assume this is as good as done? Cheers.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - hardly, no deal is as good as done, as we have shown this summer with the Chilwell deal and Zielinski. We seem to find a way to mess them all up.}

20 Jul 2016 08:43:52
Very true! Thanks for the reply.

Agree2 Disagree2

20 Jul 2016 08:56:55
GW is a fantastic player, when Newcastle got him I was shocked, he was the heart and soul of the PSV champs trust me, pure class. He surely lost his mojo once the Newcastle fiasco unfolded, don't forget Mc ****up and Cockupcini were there, very demotivating. If we get him you will be amazed at his quality. The fee is a snip compared to what else is on the market. I tell you to he is a fantastic player no doubt in my mind. "Doesn't track back" are you sure? Seen him on dozens of occasions in the flesh in Holland he is an engine. Pray we get him and not one of our rivals.

Agree15 Disagree4

20 Jul 2016 09:07:22
Good post Yung. I also saw him a lot in Netherlands and I also thought "this guy will go to a top club". I think the doubters would be eating humble pie too but that is only an opinion and even if my opinion was different I would get behind my manager and my team regardless rather than squeal like a pig about it! I wasn't (am not) a fan of Gotze so glad we missed out, but if he'd have come he'd have been welcomed and supported by me, as would the manager who brought him in.

Agree12 Disagree3

20 Jul 2016 09:28:14
Why go for another attacking midfielder when we have 4 specific ones on the books at the moment already, that makes no sense, This means one of them have to be going now. and i hope its not Countinho, GW is a downgrade on him. He is known to throw strops and sulk and doesn't work hard, if you think he tracks back and likes to get stuck in, have a look at whoscored or even watch a game of his on replay, you can't blame Newcastle for all his problems. No doubt he is good going forward on his day. Just a question L8where you supportive of the Balotelli deal?

Agree1 Disagree9

20 Jul 2016 10:16:21
If last season was anything to go by we need a really good defensively competent centre midfielder. Newcastle are asking for something like £27m on a player who was poor for 75% of last season and plays in a position we already have covered. Just to put this in context, Everton are looking at signing William Carvalho, who is possibly one of the best young centre midfielders out there and is a superb defensively minded player and not much gets past him, for around the same money that Newcastle want for an infinitely poorer footballer. An idiot and his money is easily parted and we appear to be the biggest idiot in the village at the moment.

Agree1 Disagree10

20 Jul 2016 11:22:59
I have to say, I think he's a top player albeit an inconsistent one. If Klopp can manage him in a way that brings out his top performances on a consistent basis then this should be a great piece of business.

That said, the main concern for me is where he fits in. We're very top heavy in this department now. Surely one of the established players is going. If not, I'm truly baffled.
