Ed002, I have read the posts on Salah, but a few weeks ago a move seemed unlikely, whereas it looks plausible. Is he actually becoming more likely? Would love an answer. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - The interest remains and a deal can be done. The kid should have kept quiet.}

Thanks again Ed002.

Hello Ed002. How are you? I do hope you have a good holiday. (I am on the other hand, jobless now :().

I saw the update you gave regarding Fernando Reges. Multiple sources (some very reliable like Di Marzio) are now reporting definite LFC interest in Fernando.

I was just wondering if you heard anything new regarding him with respect to LFC?

Thanks in advance,

A very saddened, and miserable

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry you are struggling for work AG and I hope that you find something really soon. There has been a little twist to the saga of Fernando. Fernando has recently become a Portuguese citizen and is desperately looking to force his way in to the national side in time for the World Cup. Whilst this eases a move to Italy where Inter and Fiorentina remain keen, the signing on fee asked of Fiorentina has come as a real shock to them. A number of other clubs have declared an interest and certainly Everton is one but I really don't know of confirmed interest from Liverpool - but it would make some sense. Porto would like to keep him if a deal can be agreed - and that might be back on the table now his citizenship has been confirmed. He is perhaps on the "Just Maybe" list. Enjoy your holidays and I hope you can figure some work stuff out.}

Thanks for swift reply and the kind words Ed002; that is very nice of you.

I actually only left work today (it was my first job). With some luck, I will know by February if any of the Universities I applied to in the States has accepted me for a PhD program.

I will definitely try to enjoy my holidays (in Vietnam) and I hope you do the same.

PS: I will understand if you do not want to post this on the forum (after all, it is football related).

{Ed002's Note - I came to England from America many years ago to do my Masters. Vietnam was a very popular destination for young American men in the 60s and 70s.}

AG,

A few years ago I went to a similar situation. I think I know how you feel and I know how hard it is not to feel despair. I wish that very shortly you can look back at these times as a rough patch you went through. Best wishes to you and your family.

Sorry to hear about that AG, here's hoping you're only temporarily jobless, I'm only 18 myself but I've already been sacked twice! Both were for family reasons (a relative died), I told them I was going to the funeral so they sacked me! Its not all doom and gloom though, now I'm happy as ever doing a coaching course and travelling all over the world, so in a way, I'm glad I was sacked! Moral of the story, don't get yourself down, because a better opportunity may be just around the corner ;-) Good luck mate!
Cheers,
ROI.

Well edd02 it must be a age thing but I can appreciate that black dry joke, it made me have a wry smile and according to my wife I only have wind, very good.

Hi Ed's, I wanted to ask, we were in for costa in the summer, he himself said he was very close to joining us, if we did get the deal through do u think it would have been a replacement for Suarez? Or do u think they wanted to have them both at Liverpool? because a partnership like that would have been outstanding.

Believable17 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it was to play alongside him, though it was also seen as being the replacement if he did still leave.}

Along side him and sturridge

Agree0 Disagree0

That's such a shame, I think if they new how good he was gunna be they would have got the deal over the line for sure.

Agree0 Disagree1

Didn't we target Mkhitaryan and then Costa to convince Suarez to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed030's Note - No, we won't buy players to convince others to stay. }

Hi ed, I've seen Pastore's name thrown about a bit and you said that he may be made available as he's been struggling.

Rogers doesn't seem to mind a player struggling to find their best form if he thinks he has the right attitude e.g sturridge and coutinho, so the key question is do you or any of those who liaise with think he has the right attitude to succeed?

If you don't really know/care, don't worry mate ha.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - {Ed002's Note - I don't recall any suggestion of an issue with his attitude. Pastore may well be moving next summer - and it is possible that PSG will let him leave in January if a suitable bid is made or if an offer of a loan and guaranteed playing time is possible. I understand that AC Milan, Roma and Fenerbahce have asked to be informed if Pastore is available. Right now his form is questionable as it was for most of last season and the player may well wish to move on if he does not get a regular place in the team. His agent has suggested also that Zenit and Napoli have approached him directly. Right now, the interest of Liverpool is speculative only although they did make an enquiry about the player in 2010. Roma and Napoli would seem the two most viable options if he were to be available.}

Hey eds,
Just a quick query if you have the chance to shed some light.
A lot of rumours regarding central midfielders and as much as agrer to an extent. M'vila, Cabaye, Fernando et al would all improve our central steel and distribution we already have a number of players fighting for positions.

Coutinho is apparently deemed to eventually occupy the central attacking role, henderson, Allen, Lucas, Gerrard all fighting for two or three positions what type of central midfielder or we looking for?
Another defensive mid to offer lucas competition but after that are we looking for a more creative midfield? What does that mean for the existing players? Are we looking to replace the ones we have with improved players or juat add players that will conplement them
Cheers

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Hughes.}

I hope for a DM and I think hendo and Allen have been inconsistent but maybe both will continue their fine form and won't need replacing but I'm not convince they r good enough long term
A SG replacement also needs to be found sooner rather than later so there is room for a quality midfield addition in my view

Agree0 Disagree3

Henderson and allen are ideal gerrard replacements

Agree1 Disagree1

I actualy think that's a little harsh, I actually think Henderson has been fantastic the past nine months and has started proving his worth! But I do agree with allens inconsistency more so
