Evening all, I doubt Joe Gomez will play again this season ( he'll probably start against palace now and make me look stupid) apart from maybe a cameo now and then, Klopp wants him to have a proper pre season, he's a big part of the plans going forward he'll be pushing lovren and be ahead of Klavan from what I can gather, sturridge looking likely to leave which seems to be common knowledge right now not that he particularly wants too, also Klopp really wants TAA to be a regular 1st team player next season not sure what that means for Clyne but I just know Klopp wants Trent in the team, it could mean nothing as we know he's very versatile.

I think TAA would make a good RM/ RW. best crosser of the ball I've seen in a Liverpool shirt for a long time. Once players like origi get used to where he is going to put the ball it could be a deadly move. Or maybe klopp is thinking 532 which in my opinion would suit TAA more than clyne.

21 Apr 2017 04:33:44
TAA is so important to the future of the club but also the future of Klopp. By bringing players like TAA through the ranks it allows Klopp to really build HIS team in his mould and allow him also to say "look at the players I've brought through". There is big focus on this at all clubs but when top clubs can do it, its huge.

Does anyone else see us playing 3 at the back next season

Matip lovren Gomez or hopefully VVD that would be a dre

TAA would be perfect for the Rwb position- Klopp ready said he needs to work on the defending side so playing 3 at the back would allow him to push forward.

Milner and hopefully the Fulham kid also are better attacking.

Hendo Gini can can fight it out for the cm postion

Coutinho postion would not change because he likes to play inside.

Mane can play the other side

Lallana can play any of them 2 postion

Firmino and Origi can also fight it out.

I think Klopp will continue to play the 4-3-3 but I've noticed that against sides that set a low block and aim to hit on the break, our deep midfielder is increasingly sitting almost between the CBs to create a defacto 3-4-3 and provide a bit more protection against the counterattack.

In more balanced games where possession is 50/ 50 and play frequently switches between attack and defense, he seems to use the high press more and keeps the 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 shape to cut down the space.

Cheers Square Tomato, Surely Gomez will play against Palace seens as all other defenders are injured mate?

Big game for the lad.
Klopp has said he's been the complete package in training for the last few weeks.
He may know some of Benteke's tricks from earlier training sessions.

I hope Migs and Lovren help and not hinder the lad.

i would think sturridge wants to play, and he has every right to leave to seek for first team opportunities if he's not getting it here.

ive seen players come ago, and i feel like he genuinely loves the club.

Agree4 Disagree0

23 Apr 2017 12:52:10
The thing is that the lad is never fit for long enough to warrant first team opportunities
It must be hard for any manager to plan a team around Sturridge.
The lad has ability by the bucket load but needs a less intense league.

Hi eds. Was watching the Leicester vs Atletico game the other night and noticed Jose Gimenez looked quite the defender, researched him today and seen a few posts about us rivalling Man Utd to get his signature? Any truth in this or just lazy journalism? Thanks guys.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - lazy and utter bollox. I wish we could get him.}

20 Apr 2017 18:44:06
Fantastic defender as is most of Madrids defences Godin is good, lucas hernandez is quality, savic has built his reputation up a little same as nastasic since leaving city.

20 Apr 2017 19:36:41
I thought the "lazy and utter bollox" referred to Gimenez!

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no mate. Gimenez is a quality defender.}

21 Apr 2017 12:35:27
Sounds like the Spanish Joe Gomez!

Eds,

Have you heard anything about Michael Keane being close too joining us?

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - nope. Burnley are making no deals with anyone right now for any of the players they want to keep. If they do survive, then they will not be looking to sell, so it will take a big offer to prize away their players. If by some chance they do go down, then they would be more willing to make a deal for players that have Prem interest. Not because of the money, they are no longer desperate for money.}

20 Apr 2017 15:47:53
What is so special about Keane? Whenever i have sen him play, he gets turned inside out by half decent forwards. Also looks a little slow to react.

Okey eds,

Thanks for your reply.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

20 Apr 2017 16:57:44
I know you hate these sort of questions but if you had to money on it would you put it on United resign him .

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would be very surprised if they resigned him, he simply is not that good.}

20 Apr 2017 18:48:16
Thanks ed I save my money.

{Ed001's Note - I would.}

20 Apr 2017 13:07:46
Eds. any truth in the rumour we have bid for marco asencio of real Madrid? Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid's Marco Asensio has been the subject of interest from Arsenal who will look to replace Sanchez with him and Juventus amongst others. Interersted sides have been told he is not for sale and Real MAdrid are unwilling to have discussions with clubs about the player.}

20 Apr 2017 13:27:44
Is sanchez definitely off then? What are the likely destinations? Had a squiz on the arsenal page but couldn't see anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page, but all clubs make provisions for players looking to leave.}

20 Apr 2017 15:49:51
if the rumour is true and was rejected, it wasa good move by LFC. shows intent to our "potentials" we are interested in.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you think going for players we have no chance of, and know we have no chance of, is a good move? I would say it would have made us look silly, if there had been any truth in it.}

20 Apr 2017 16:57:50
Thanks ed ill go have another squiz on the arsenal page then.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There won't be much there - RM are not looking to sell him.}

In the Irish press yesterday

Hart to LFC is a done deal.

29 million quoted to City as he has still 2 years left on his contract.

I know its been mentioned on here before but
I thought it was just hype

Now I'm not so sure.

Believable1 Unbelievable32

20 Apr 2017 11:46:12
The Italian press are saying he's the second worst keeper in Italy. If they get half of 29 million they will have done well but it won't be us.

Agree19 Disagree1

20 Apr 2017 11:54:48
I hear that Klopp has completely ruled this out so sounds like nonsense to me.

Agree17 Disagree1

20 Apr 2017 12:40:00
Hart is a flapper simple as that, no better than mignolet.

Agree8 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 12:40:35
Can we please just stop talking about Hart, we are not signing him. He is beyond average, he's had a torrid spell in Italy. He is no upgrade whatsoever. Klopp stated this morning we have no interest in him at all.

Agree14 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 13:41:36
I just cannot see any scenario in which signing Hart makes sense other than Mignolet leaving, Karius leaving, Ward being the bencher, a new GK coach, improved defensive coaching and new defenders. And I mean all of those not just some. Since the evidence is there that all those aren't going to happen I don't see a point to considering the signing. Plus he isn't enough of an upgrade on Mignolet or Karius that if you improved Gk and defence coaching and the quality of defenders available you wouldn't just stick with improving those two we have already.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Hart would struggle to make the team even if the only other option to playing him in goal was Coutinho on crutches.}

20 Apr 2017 15:34:50
I would rather we brought David James out of retirement than pay 20 million for Hart.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 17:56:39
I have to be honest thought Mignolet has looks okay towards the end of the season, Could definitely have someone more solid, but got to give him credit tbh. Hart wouldn't be an upgrade on minners imo.

Agree5 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 22:52:36
Hi Ed001 is that as in wouldn't get selected regardless not just an ability opinion? I thought Klopp was very quick and very exact in killing the story so was wondering if your comment reflects a wouldn't touch with a barge pole feeling at the club?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it reflects the feeling in most clubs right now, the guy has shown himself to be utter dross over the last few seasons.}

21 Apr 2017 15:19:31
Agreed Migs has looked better this year. Still not the top level we need really but difficult to find someone better that will come to us right now. Hopefully Karius can step it up next season, still holding out some hope for the lad.

Agree3 Disagree1

22 Apr 2017 17:10:12
Hart has looked average at city for seasons now. And made to look better by having played behind a very good defensive line and a strong attacking side. Klopp has now spoken and I couldn't be happier.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2017 19:58:21
Hart has been complete dross for ears and for Torino this season, he has succeeded in actually getting worse. Only his buddies in the media are trying to sell him to us cos no team with a functioning brain would sign him. Karius and Migs are way ahead of him IMO and if he wasn't English, NOT a soul would care about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 10:03:47
Morning Eds,

What are the possible (plausible I'll throw in too) destinations for Sturridge If he were to be sold? Is there any mooted interest?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there is a bit of mild interest from West Ham. Palace, Stoke and West Brom would all love to sign him as well, the issue is that I am not sure he would have much interest in them. Maybe Palace could persuade him, they have the funds, but I can't see how they would use him in their current system. Stoke need a striker desperately who can score goals, but they look to be going backward under Hughes. West Brom just don't look to have the money to afford a deal for him.}

20 Apr 2017 10:29:06
What a shame that that's the level of club he'll probably end up at. He should be in his prime right now. Wish he could've stayed fit for us.

Agree6 Disagree0

20 Apr 2017 10:40:46
Ed do you think a move abroad would suit him better France or Spain.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, but the clubs that have the money to afford him are not the ones likely to need or want him, sadly.}

20 Apr 2017 12:17:21
Ed, do you think there is a chance he could stay or do you think Klopp is fed up of how little he is available?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there is every chance he could stay, it is just more likely he leaves due to his injury problems. Klopp would prefer someone more reliable but that is all it is.}

20 Apr 2017 15:51:28
sad but he will never be fit for more than 5 games in a row.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Apr 2017 22:50:47
5 games at a push. On his day quality in front of goal but that injection of pace he had is long gone, the guy doesn't even lok interested in chasing a ball in behind anymore. The injuties have got to him which is probably fair enough considering the amount he has had but for LFC it's time to move on and get a decent price for him. He will score goals for whoever he signs for and best of luck to him but we need someone we can rely on up top if we are to push on.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2017 17:13:30
With a World cup around the corner I am sure he will want to be playing.
I hope he finds some fitness and gets his career back on track.

We have all seen how good he can be.
