Just read a report saying Liverpool "should" and "probably will" look to sign vermalen. I've lost all faith in humanity

Believable13 Unbelievable131

Of everything that has happened recently: Gaza; MH17; ISIS; Rolf Harris - this is what causes you to lose faith in humanity.

Agree17 Disagree4

Bit extreme buck04!

Agree6 Disagree2

Welcomed perspective, Buck indeed.

Agree6 Disagree3

Never happen mate have faith he's a donkey

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't think we will like.
The £40m plus a quid snub will still be fresh over there as well even if we did.

Agree3 Disagree1

He is going to man utd. how to make a donkey look good?

Agree1 Disagree0

Read a different paper.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't know why everyone thinks we need a new LB because Enrique never steps a foot wrong, also I defiantly think we need a new right back in manquillo, he looks good. And Bony would be a great signing to play along Sturridge, he scored 20 goals last year, he isn't no suarez but who is, also kono would be a great signing to get a big squad, we're moving forward boys. what does the editor think of the Lavezzi rumours? any interest show from Liverpool?

Believable14 Unbelievable53

{Ed002's Note - I gave an opinion on this a week or two back.}

Eds

Sorry I should of asked on last post.

Do you no what is likely to happen with Agger and Johnson. With our reported defensive additions would you think both of the above will move on with perhaps Bronby and Qpr possible destinations?

Thanks in advance

Believable11 Unbelievable34

{Ed002's Note - Agger might be of interest to Brondby but (a) have they got the money, and (b) there may well be far more attractive options at this time. I cannot answer about Johnson at this time.}

Eds, with reports that the moreno deal is back on do you still think he doesn't wamt to come? I remember you saying that he wants to stay in spain.

Thanks

Believable19 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if Moreno has changed his mind about wanting to play for Real Madrid nor if he has retracted the statement he made after Liverpool previously failed to agree terms.

Cheers for the reply

Agree1 Disagree0

What was the gist of the statement Ed? can't seem to find anything on it. Was it to do with the inevitability that he would one day end up playing for Real?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He made it clear he did not wish to move away from Spain to England. I really don't want to go through all of this again.}

I think we need to accept that if he turns out to be as good a player as they all say he will become, he'll be agitating for a move to a big spanish club within two seasons.
He probably sees lfc as a necessary step on his career path for the time being, but not as a long term club.
But hey, if he provides quality in the lb position for two seasons, and we can arrange matters so that we won't lose huge money on the deal, then I'm in favour personally.

Agree3 Disagree2

Who cares what he said? He might well have been just pissed that the initial deal didn't go thru. As for wanting to play for Madrid? He will need to play really well for Liverpool then! Its a win win situation.

Agree4 Disagree0

Manquillo can be his mate and Enrique can help him settle in. Plus he'll get no end of amusement from hearing BR speaking Spanish in a Northern Irish accent. :) If he succeeds, Real Madrid may well buy him, but we'll make a cool 10 million profit or so at least.

Agree1 Disagree0

A player angling for a move goes one of 2 ways, either they sulk and pout and don't perform until they get their way, or they try to play their heart out and throw everything they have into proving just how good they are to potential suitors.

I don't think Moreno has done enough in his career to do the first one so I expect him to give everything to prove to Real Madrid he is worth it. And that can only be good for us!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope he does try to become a player Madrid want. But it's a little hard to accept a player who doesn't really want to play for us.
Thought BR was keen on players who want to play for Liverpool, that's why he was impressed with Suso and Robinsons attitude. Wrong?

Hey ed, have you per chance heard anything about Konoplyanka interest being reignited? I have read the thread in RAWK that seems to have started the rumour, and it seemed to indicate that Kono is coming to the Premiership, not specifically to Liverpool, but Macca budging in does change things!
I would be very happy if true, but keeping the hopes down for now.

Believable5 Unbelievable20

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool to Dnipro since January.}

01 Aug 2014 10:33:43
Macca normally is on the button . but I think we are more than strong enough out wide!

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Aug 2014 12:02:22
Do you doubt Konoplyanka interest Ed? Although Macca stated this?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what Macca has said but if he has said that Liverpool has made an approach to Dnipro with an offer then I would take his word for it.}

01 Aug 2014 12:30:08
Macca sounds a little unsure on both last rumours, so I don't think anything is set in stone - I think it would be an either/or case with Bony and Kono, we simply don't need both. Konoplyanka will make sense if BR is sure that Sterling or Marko will be able to cover for striker if need be.

Hi eds
Love the site and the hard work you put in.

What do you think will happen with ibe, will he stay with the 1st team or go out on loan?

Also what's happening with the out goings, suso borini, reina, assaidi for example?

Believable10 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plans are with Ibe. Suso was priced out of the move he wanted and will stay at the club. Liverpool want to move Reina on but there is no interest at the money being asked. Assaidi should go with Liverpool halving the initial asking price - but the kid needs to be realistic about his expectations of wages. A deal should be possible with Stoke. I still expect Borini to move on.}

Cheers Ed, I must admit I'm surprised there isn't more interest in Reina. He's at a good age for a keeper and I thought he was still pretty highly regarded around Europe.
Is it both his wages and the asking price that are putting clubs off, or is it just the price do you think?
I ask because its harder to sympathise with him not getting a move if he won't shift on his wage demands.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Wages are the big deal.}

Rafa Paez off to Bologna on loan, with an option of a permanent deal apparently.
Any truth eds?

Believable8 Unbelievable16

{Ed001's Note - they are interested in taking him on loan yes.}

Thanks for the reply Ed001.

Hi Eds,

Do we have any interests in any keepers? Since Casillas and Cech are basically available, is there any chance we can swoop one of those two up?

Also, do you think Bony would answer the question regarding our forward lines? I am somehow not convinced by our attack after watching the game with City. To me only Sterling did well enough to offer us something different up front and I can see both Sturridge and Lambert being ineffective in many games.

Lastly, do you see Kelly taking Johnson's spot on the right back position? To me he looks way more assuring.

Cheers,

Believable6 Unbelievable29

{Ed001's Note - yes, no, no idea, more likely Flanno.}

Kelly is no better than Johnson .I expect a new signing with Flanno as back up.

Eds is it true Dortmund are interested in taking Ilori on loan?

Bizarre if true, if Dortmund view him as good enough to play in their first team then surely he is good enough to play for us?

I sincerely hope if Moreno and Manquillo sign we see somewhat of a clear out of our defenders with the likes of Skrtel, Johnson, Enrique, Toure, Coates making way for Moreno, Flanno, Kelly, Manquillo, Ilori to try and stake a claim.

Believable14 Unbelievable26

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Would this be part of a bigger deal or just a straight loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware it is only a loan.}

In my opinion a great move for all party's

Agree0 Disagree0

Despite always looking close to giving away a pen Skrtle was actually one of the best CB's in the EPL last season.
Coates is looking much improved although he still looks a bit short of the deired standard
Kelly is not good enough.Has gone backwards since his injury.

Agree0 Disagree3

I am unsure which games you have been watching CR.

Coates has looked slow and always will be slow. Yes he has looked decent on the friendlies but friendlies are generally played at a much slower pace than the premier league.

Kelly on the other hand, has looked solid, he has the physique to play CB, the technique to play RB and the positioning and pace to play both. I really hope he stays and gets given a shot. Would much rather him and Flanno fighting it out for the RB slot than getting in an unproven Spanish 21 yr old.

Agree2 Disagree1

Kelly looked terrible v. City. Way off the pace and too afraid to come forward for fear of getting beaten back down the field. Johnson looked no better. Flanno getting RB by default at this point.

Hello Eds, any interest in Jovetic? I've always like him as a player since he smashed us at Fiorentina in the 2009/10 CL.
And given he's barely had a look in at City, mainly due to injury of course, I thought he may possibly be on the cards to leave City.

Sorry to just throw a random name out there Eds, I know even if he is available, he may be too expensive but there is no harm in asking I guess? ^_^

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - nope.}

Moreno done! Bony to follow and were looking at a deadly team this season.

Not quite done, but both teams seem willing to discuss the transfer. I believe Ian Ayre is actually in Spain currently with Moreno and possibly Manquillo on the agenda.

You are correct, I posted that 10 hours ago on banter.

Cheers Macca. As always, great info.
This one would be a surprise after it seemed dead in the water and after taking young Markovic.
Let's wait and see
