Reports saying we are already in advanced talks to sign Gotze. Not saying it's true but putting it out there deem it as you wish.

Coutinho, Firmino and Gotze behind Sturridge next season is an exciting thought.

If he is not good enuf for pep what makes u think he is good enuf for klopp?

I love Sturridge but Coutinho, Gotze, Llalana and Firmino upfront would be just as good and with Gotze in the side all goalscorers and similar minded players.

Agree0 Disagree22

{Ed001's Note - hmmm not so sure Lallana is a goalscorer and Goetze would in no way replace Sturridge and is not going to score as many.}

02 Apr 2016 05:07:44
Lallana couldn't hit a barn door from 5 yards mate, his finishing is awful. Coutinho contributes maybe 10- 12 goals a season at best. Sturridge is easily our most prolific striker, but is injury prone. We don't need Goetze, we need another reliable striker and a decent keeper.

i'd be happy to go into next season with sturridge, Origi and Ings as our strike options next year. there's no point having promising young strikers if we won't give them the oportunity to play and improve.

Top quality 'keeper has to be the priority before anything else, it's an absolute no-brainer.

I wouldn't take original post as gospel. Only got to look today and it's reported we are leading the race for Yarmalenko. Another good player but it's still paper talk.

Yarmelenko has to be a rehash of an old link. I'd hope it isn't true as he's not worth what they're asking for him and given how awkward Ukrainian plutocrats are to negotiate with I think we should dodge that bullet and let Everton waste their money instead.

I'm not saying I think goetze will come but of course he's good enough. He's just having a bad spell, He's the type of player to take a chance on. He's still young, and would benefit from being a first choice. Klopp knows how to get the best out of him.

We need a wide player and this player knows where the net is so him and gotze, lb and a good gk and we be ready to challenge for the title naver mind top 4.

We'll see how good 'Pep' is, in a much tougher league, with more than one other good team in it.
Think he'll be in for a shock myself!

We need a big improvement in the defence (including GK) before we spend more time looking up front. It is the shipping goals that will cost us, not scoring them.

Sakho dropped in my opinion he's a liabiliy.

Hi EDD'S, could you enlighten us on these reports that a middle - eastern company is in advanced talks to take over the club.

Believable8 Unbelievable15

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about any advanced talks, but it is very difficult to get info on that unless you know someone involved, as NDAs keep the vast majority of people quiet. I know there is interest, a lot of it, in particular in Dubai, in buying Liverpool, but I don't know any more than that.}

01 Apr 2016 06:55:57
I've just read the same. massive injections of cash but it is from the daily star so not sure about the accuracy. I remember eds saying it would not be like city as emirates are all about pushing their global brand but I guess we would still be cash rich? I hope we smash spurs!

With the oil price etc still low I find it difficult to believe a consortium would be willing to dump a load of money into a financially fragile club such as ourselves, and if they are, then I would suggest they're more than likely bad business men. I would hope this isn't true, as I would expect it to match the Hicks and Gillet reign for the damage it will cause.

David Moores originally shook hands on a deal with Dubai International Capital (DIC) to sell Liverpool before George Gillett and Tom Hicks stepped in and bought the club due to DIC hesitating on the deal, if the interested party is DIC, who are the international investment arm of Dubai Holding, a global conglomerate and sovereign wealth fund of the government of Dubai and its ruling family, I don’t think they will be put off by cheap oil prices.
If true it is the only way Liverpool will challenge the European giants.

Agree1 Disagree18

{Ed001's Note - they will not be buying us.}

01 Apr 2016 16:38:13
There's been way too much DIC in Liverpool over the past years, let's hope Ed' right.

Leicester have shown that it doesn't take vast sums to challenge, just a good team that fits together.

That's been one of our main issues. No doubt we were dug our of a hole and have spent significantly, but recruitment and PR have been poor. And that's being generous.

I'm not asking for prices, investment or companies who are interested. Honest opinion though would you like new owners?

We've always been told there is an exit plan with current owners. Would it be beneficial for them to sell from a fans point of view or would the new owners cut everything to the bone?

Is that why you met up with Harry ed001?
Planning a takeover bid?

Agree0 Disagree10

{Ed001's Note - he was busy taking Agbonlahor and Richards out on the lash mate.....}

02 Apr 2016 03:09:19
be careful what you wish for would be my answer, the current owners are not perfect, but there is a lot worse out there. I expect them to stick to there exit plan, also why would anyone working for the daily star be privy to a story no one else seems to know about?

Agree7 Disagree12

02 Apr 2016 11:54:35
Since when was the Daily Star even remotely accurate or in-the-know. You're better off chatting to some bloke down the pub than taking the Star's info as true.

Can Ed001 shed any light on Ryland Morgans leaving so suddenly?

Believable2 Unbelievable16

{Ed001's Note - I can't mate sorry. I expected him, and a couple of other staff members, to go in the summer. It is odd timing.}

01 Apr 2016 07:47:47
Does this include John achterbergonomic?

I agree ed the timing is very odd. I have zero inside knowledge but leaving with 6 weeks of the season left surely smacks of a disagreement or falling out over methods?

Thought I read he was leaving at the end of the season - may be mistaken though.
