Liverpool will not buy any household names this January, but will be signing some young talent. Rumours are hinting at some south American players.

Liverpool will buy a household name this January... a Hoover! They can then clear up all the rubbish they have signed in the summer!

what are the chances of liverpool getting rodallega eds? Also liverpool and arsenal are interested in abidal because his agent has said he is looking to move from barca at the end of the season. Any truth in these eds? {Ed001's Note - not as far as I know.}

Hi all Red's... big news from the Irish camp I am friends with a bar man who was serving at the Rep. Ireland bash after we qualified and he says when the drinks were in some of the players spilled the beans...Kevin Doyle is a serious target for 8 mil and McGeady 12 mil I think Doyle is exactly what Liverpool need...

I sure as hell hope not. Mcgeady & Doyle are no better than what we already have. Maxi is twice the player McGeady is. As for Doyle he has hardly set the Premier league alight. Liverpool should be looking to bring in the likes of Gaston Ramirez (Bologna) and Abel Hernandez (Palermo) both young players who have the potential to become truly world class.

does anybody know if we have scouted or looked at alan dzageov hes really young and a quality player ! {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this year. There is no interest from Liverpool that I know of, but would not be out of teh question.}

Just a musing really, I was wondering if LFC would consider a loan bid for Thierry Henry - a bit like the Toffees did with Lady Cakes Donavan.

If Larson can do a decent job for Utd then certainly Thierry Henry could do one for us. I'm not saying we should do it but it wouldn't be the worst decision in the world.

He simply wouldn't consider the option!

Joe cole does alright in the french league but not good enough for us, he plays in the mls because no decent teams want him

Er I dont think it was a case of no decent teams wanting him, I think it was the lovely salary and New York life style.

hi eds long time viewer of this site would love for you ton post this. i have heard from sources in italy and england that liverpool are intrested in coleman coutinho and most surprising of all carlos tevez.there is also some intrest in mcgeady ass he impressed in the play offs

Hopefully McGeady will lose his passport and will be forced to stay in Russian until we buy a better option than him. I'm an Ireland supporter and the concensus is that he is over-rated and never likely to fulfill his poential.

McGeady would be a great buy much better then Downing

McGeady is NOT better than Downing! McGeady isn't even as good as Maxi.

seeing as suarez is likely to get banned for his "racism" and we have been struggling to score even when he is on the team!

Yes completely agree, lucas moura is a quality player and if we are expecting CL and top of the table then sometimes we must fork out the money for these top players

£10m is a fair price for him when you take into account how much we paid for him his age and ability.

I am undecided about Kuyt and always have been. I get so fed up with all the talk of 'hard work' he does when most of the time he struggles to even pass the ball. Whenever he gets it I wait for him to make a meess of it and he usually does.
Because of that I think £10m would be a great deal. Do it Kenny!

Hes good when given space to work in, has the knack of knowing when to release the ball and when to hold. Has bundles of energy and defensively a footballing brain to track back when there is a dangerous situation. Always available, never hides and makes some of the younger players look lazy. Two minor problems are lack of extra pace and gaining control at speed. I thought he was hopeless when he came to Liverpool, but he improved when moved to the right flank and has been one of our best players since. He is worth £10 milion if he leaves and I only hope we get a replacement in if he leaves (Henderson isn't it) otherwise Kuyt will be sorely missed.

Seems to me none of the people posting on this thread have watched the legend that is Dirk play for the past few years. He's a vital member to our squad, and when he moves on, it'll sit heavy on so many supporters' hearts, and I'm sure his as well.

As I've thought about it recently, we might keep him around for another year. He doesn't want to move for first team football (he still gets into the Dutch starting side) and he loves this club and always gives his all, and who can forget the goals he's scored for us?

Maybe I'm just hoping, but the man is a legend and for anyone to belittle him saying to ship him off because all he does is make mistakes? Watch the game, buddy.

I agree with the above poster, Kuyt is a Liverpool legend, who was the lasr player before him to score a hatrick against the mancs?? I can see a poosible coaching career for him at Liverpool after he hangs his worn out boots up! His work ethic stands head and shoulders above the rest of the squad and all of the youngsters should try to emulate him and his attitude. English football would not be in the state it's in if all the players acted like Dirk. We love you mate

hey ed, i've just read that we(along with the cream of europe) are trying to sign andy polo. i think he is a fantastic little player. what are the chances of him coming to anfield? {Ed001's Note - hard to say, it will be difficult to get him a work permit for starters.}

Just wanted to ask if you know of any interest in belgien players? I know hazard is little to non doable, but I was wondering if dries mertens or jan verthongen are options that are being looked at?

I know mertens only moved this summer, but could he be a target for next summer?

And verthonge I feel is ready to step up, superb defender that could really add to the squad.

Jan {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of us having any interest in those right now, but both have been extensively scouted in the past, so it could just be that there is enough information about both already. I don't know about how much notice we are taking of Belgian players, but I would be schocked if we weren't looking at them, especially as so many good young players are coming out of Belgium these days.}
