ed, i know that comolli likes marko marin, but does kenny feel the same way too about him? is kenny interested in him? the guy's magic.

Kaizer {Ed001's Note - I don't know, it doesn't seem so because I have not heard anything regarding him.}

Acorrding to world soccer magazine marko marin is commolis top target

Marko marin is a comolli target, but kenny has the last say.

Kaizer

Marin doesn't want to leave Germany, so i doubt this would ever happen

Hey ed what do you think of lavezzi and cavani is there a good chance of getting them ore just one of them and which one is most likely to com {Ed001's Note - good chance? Not really no. Very little of getting both, Lavezzi is the most likely, but I don't believe we will move for either. Money would be better spent on other players at the club in my opinion anyway.}

Which players would this be eds? {Ed001's Note - for me Eduardo Vargas and Walter Gargano are the ones to go for, Vargas has only just joined though.}

19 Mar 2012 22:42:01
Alright eds, just wondering, I know you've said in the past that Mesut Ozil is a crowd favourite but do you think that if we bid around 30 mil for him would they accept and would he like to come?

BthekingB {Ed001's Note - impossible to say, we don't know who will be in charge there next season.}

19 Mar 2012 22:38:03
One for the eds , do you know if there is still interest in Kevin Strootman of PSV as a summer signing. Granted he is a young player and probably not be a first team regular immediately but I feel he will be a terrific player in the not too distant future. I believe his price tag will be huge in a few years.

The Liver Bird {Ed001's Note - there are a lot of people tracking him, we are one of many, Chelsea and Arsenal are defo also interested.}

Thanks

The Liver Bird

Ed if rossi becomes available do you think we would try and sign him? I know he has been injured but he would be on the cheap if they get relegated {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, a lot would depend on medical reports, injuries like he had can take a long time to recover from fully.}

How old is rossi again?

Man Utd have a buy back clause for Rossi i doubt they would let him go elsewhere in the prem.

Why would we want an exx manc

19 Mar 2012 21:29:53
Eds,
I read through your posts.
So we can retain that Liverpool FC is/ will be interested in the following players in the summer:

Luuk de Jong
Gaston Ramirez
Roberto Soldado
Moussa Sissoko
Yann M'Vila
Shinji Kagawa
Matt Phillips
Wilfried Zaha
Steven Fletcher

Am I right? Have I forgotten someone?

Cheers Mate keep up your great work
{Ed001's Note - I don't believe we are interested in Zaha, I believe we looked at him and decided he had no end product. Certainly the info I had access to said that he was not recommended by the scout. There are others, but I have become lax at keeping notes over the last year or so and can't think who is missing. I have to pull my finger out and get back on that!}

Soldado

I believe better end product comes with maturity and experience. lots of young talents have no end product but go on to be top class wingers, just look at nani and valencia {Ed001's Note - that can be the case, some learn it, but mostly they don't improve as much as Zaha needs to. Certainly a winger who can't cross is very unlikely to suddenly be pinging them in with Gerrard's accuracy, no matter how much experience they gain.}

Zaha has no end product but neither does Downing and they still paid ca. £20M for him. {Ed001's Note - except that Downing had an end product at Villa and Boro, he has just had a crisis of confidence for us.}

19 Mar 2012 21:03:08
Im Not a Confirmed Source Of Liverpool Football Club , And don't represent the club in any way , But ... I have been told by my Friend who is very close with Liverpool F.C that Guiseppe Rossi is on the transfer list for The Summer , Even if Villareal stay up ... Also Wilfred Zaha is too

You sound reliable until you mentioned zaha...

19 Mar 2012 20:45:53
I heard two months ago that liverpool would make a move for edinson cavani!! It's very difficult but Fernando Llorente would be an excellent choice too! Liverpool can't depend on Carroll unfortunately, although i like this player!

19 Mar 2012 20:06:49
ed what are the chances of rossi moving this summer ,especially if villareal get relegated and are we interested.! {Ed001's Note - he is likely to move regardless, Villareal will be offloading a few players in the summer. There will be a few big names leaving Spain, I would expect, their clubs' money problems are not improving.}

Brillant Move he certainly knows where the goal is and would get him under £20million and around the £90,000 mark on wages.

BigD

I doubt Rossi wud kum 2 us being a ex man u player !

19 Mar 2012 20:02:09
Eds, first of all grt job..its wid regard to ozil..it was reported in dec if i am not wrong that if madrid were to sell we would go for him in summer...had that been the case wouls he be a possibility cause he is what we are lacking a sublime creative midfielder.... {Ed001's Note - if he becomes available there would be a mass scrambilio for him and I am sure every club who could afford the price would be in there. I don't know if we would have a chance, I know Fergie spoke to him personally to try and persuade him to join United but he rejected them to join Madrid. I would think that would put them head of the queue if anything, unfortunately. Plus, I would love us to sign Ozil, and we never seem to sign the players I want, so that probably reduces our chances too!}

He follows LFC on Twitter

Fergie thought he had signed him, United even went as far as to put the players profile on their website

19 Mar 2012 19:56:37
Hey eds, is there still interest in Kagawa from Liverpool? And does it still seem likely that he is going to extend his contract at Dortmund?

Thanks {Ed001's Note - yes and no idea sorry.}

19 Mar 2012 19:21:10
eds,
if johnson were to leave who would be interested in buying him as he has been very poor this season! and is it that he will want cl football next season another reason he may leave?
cheers, josh :) {Ed001's Note - there are a few clubs interested in him. Arsenal are genuinely interested in him, with him being classed as home grown, it does increase his value to Prem clubs. More a return south than anything that interests him.}

Why would Arsenal want him? Sagna is a better player {Ed001's Note - it doesn't have to be either or, Johnson can cover left and right back, also Sagna can play central defence, especially as part of a 3 man back line. Then there is the possibility of one playing in front of the other.}

Would you like to see him leave ed?
josh {Ed001's Note - personally, yes, I prefer Kelly there and he is paid far too much and injured too often for that money.}

Sagna a better player? Ur having a laugh! N johnson poor this season? What games have u been watching u doilum!

I think Johnson is having a better season than he has the last few years but he is injured all the time..

Anybody who thinks Kelly is better than Johnston really haven't a clue what they are talking about. While Kelly is a good prospect, and I like him, he isn't in the same class as Johnston and has under performed in a lot of games when he has come in. People are so desperate for players to come through from the academy that it blinkers them. Johnston has only had a couple of bad games, and when he does everybody is on his back about, "not being able to defend" just because they've heard it in the media. Truth is, he can be caught out occasionally but who can't. Enrique, who everybody loves, can but he doesn't get any stick!!

19 Mar 2012 18:45:49
Ed, you mentioned earlier about rumours of Bellamy in reference to him being injured. What are these rumours that are flying around? Cheers

ToonRed {Ed001's Note - there were rumours flying around that he had thrown a strop on being left out against Everton. From what I can find out there is nothing in them, hard to be entirely sure as his friends could be protecting him, but I am told he absolutely worships Kenny and that he understands that he can't play every game. I am told he is bitterly disappointed he is watching, but not angry, just gutted. Like I said, that could be his friends covering up for him, but I don't think so, they seem genuinely shocked about the rumours.}

19 Mar 2012 18:34:48
if Villareal get relegated this season do you think Liverpool will pounce on Guiseppe Rossi ?

Seems unlikely as he is at inter milan

Rossi most certainly is not at Inter Milan I can assure you. He got a season ending injury this season at Villareal and Liverpool held interest in him before his injury according to the eds. So ed001, do you think that if Villareal do get relegated we could potentially move for him? Or has that ship sailed?
Cheers,
KiwiRed {Ed001's Note - I think we would want to let him get his fitness back first to be honest.}

19 Mar 2012 18:17:17
Ed guilliem balague said around 1 month ago that valero will leave villareal for around 12 million euros and that us and man city might be interested. Do you see him as a possible summer signing? {Ed001's Note - I don't believe our main target is a central midfielder.}

19 Mar 2012 18:16:03
Ed earlier ed001 said that lavezzi was a possible target but that he thought that we would move for someone else instead. Do you know who that other player is? {Ed001's Note - I think, right now anyway, that Luuk De Jong and Gaston Ramirez are more likely to be targeted.}

Go all out for ramirez, he looks amazing. Very skillful and can also split defence with ease (not easy to do that in Italy). Though I have to say lavezzi might be a better player, his craziness wouldn't be very well accepted.

Hey ed, Is it one among De jong or Ramirez or both being targeted for their respective positions that is ST and RW, I thought Matt Phillips is primary target for RW, Is something changed now. I am really excited at the prospect of Ramirez and Phillips would be a bonus with him.

AJ {Ed001's Note - Phillips seems to be being tracked for the future, we have a very good relationship with Blackpool now and they are happy to let us know of other interest in him. I expect a watching brief on him myself. We have worked hard to regain friendly relations between the two clubs, it does no harm to let them have Phillips a bit longer, loan them a player or two to befriend him, and then move for him when he is ready.}

Ed do you think they are comparitive signings though as lavezzi is a world class player who will problably cost 30m where gaston ramirez and de jong are up and coming and probably more like 12m. Is it right that we are at least interested in lavezzi? {Ed001's Note - it is more a case of where we are at right now. We are an up and coming team, looking to break back into the top echelons of European football. We are looking to buy players for that, not established stars that are looking to stay there, but young, hungry players looking to break into it.}

Oh great ed, So its safe to say that Dejong as ST and Ramirez as RW as the most likely targets right now considering the situation and this could change if we are lucky enough and get CL and Phillips for the future windows. I will be very happy with Ramirez. But i would personally prefer Soldado as ST as he is prolific and also experienced though Dajong won't be bad.

AJ {Ed001's Note - I would like Soldado, I know we have looked at him, but De Jong does seem more likely.}

Rumours that de Jong is heading to Borussia monchengladbach, is that true? {Ed002's Note - It is only March and trhere will be many rumours between now and the end of August.}

19 Mar 2012 16:56:20
Ed do you still think that kenny might go at the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - There has to be a chance.}

A chance there is. But looks quite low right now.

I love kenny but sometime I fell like he doesnt really know what he is doing. E

19 Mar 2012 16:39:04
Do you still think suarez could maybe go eds after he siad he loves life at liverpool and that he is keen to sign a contratc extension? {Ed002's Note - Of course he could "maybe" go. We will see in the summer.}

Eds do you think he actually meant what he said. So if he went in the summer, would that be down to the club rather than his choice. {Ed001's Note - he has never had any issues about being at Liverpool as such. What is there not to like about being treated like a hero? But he loved life at Ajax too.}

The difference is that in Ajax he has been for years. Here he is just 1+ year. I never saw a top player leaving his team after such a short time. And knowing Suarez' character leaving after such a short time would be considered cowardice. In Ajax he achieved a lot. I understand the media giving food for the "Suarez might go", but I didn't expect this from our own fans. Personally I don't see even 1% for Suarez to leave this summer.

Hi Eds

If any of the following teams go down, could you see us bidding for their players:

Wolves - Fletcher (back up)
QPR - Taarabt
Wigan - Moses
Blackburn - Yakubu (back up)

Cheers {Ed001's Note - the only one of those who would stand any chance of being moved for is Fletcher, there is interest in him. The only other possible is Moses, but I believe we have looked and decided against him.}

None of them are good enough to play for Liverpool.

Moses is a great player and we should definitely go ahead and bid for him. Apparently he is only on around 15,000 a week and wouldn't cost a lot of money.

BthekingB

Yakubu? Taraabt?
Thanks Roy, but no thanks.
Yakubu is an Everton cast-off who's had a quite good burst of form at B'burn but is unthinkable as a Liverpool player.
Taraabt isn't exactly setting the Premiership alight in the way he imagined he would. Problem attitude...big style!
Moses and Fletcher may be good shouts as squaddies.

Jarvis would be the only one for me

Eds,
what do you think about David "Junior" Hoilett?
Do you rate him?
And why do you think Liverpool don't show interest in him?

Cheers {Ed001's Note - Liverpool have looked at him, but he wants to wait until he can move on a free at the end of the season. He is ok, not sure he would be worth bringing in though, I would rather give a youngster a chance.}

Hi ed, do you agree with me that Raheem Sterling should be given a chance or two towards the end of this season? do you think Kenny will play him this season?

Daniel91 {Ed001's Note - no, he is just not physically ready in my opinion. He looks like a little boy against men in the youth games! I don't mean his size or strength, I mean his growth and development in terms of physical maturity. We put Fowler and Owen in very early and both have suffered long term injury problems due to that. I would rather we were careful with him and he was able to continue playing at the top level well into his 30s.}

He is Ok? Not sure he is worth? You having a laugh? he is just brilliant like Alan hansen said just brilliant, He is infinitely better than Stewart Downing already and he is just 20, {Ed001's Note - sorry but I don't see that at all, I really don't care what Hansen has said, he is not a scout. Infinitely better than Downing huh? He must be better than Messi then. Hoilett is a good Prem player with the potential to be better, but nothing more.}

Respect your opinion but for one has more skill and can take on a defender which Downing is scared of his life to do bar just once or twice all season has more skill and more end product in goals and assist

Hansen has more of an idea than most people. Hoillet is miles better than some of the crap we have {Ed001's Note - so better than crap is now the level you think we should be aiming for? You really aren't helping your point.}

Hence why I said "miles" better {Ed001's Note - if you say so.}

Lol...ed001 got to love your sense of humour {Ed001's Note - thanks I think.}

His speed stats progress to 99 inside 2 seasons on FIFA though! Surely we should be looking at that.

TSP {Ed001's Note - ah yes, that explains the talk of how wonderful he is!}

19 Mar 2012 10:20:45
Eds, I heard city are interested in Hazard now too, if they signed him do you think there would be a chance of getting Johnson? {Ed001's Note - possibly, it would certainly suggest he would be surplus, but then he did just recently sign a new contract.}

Im not so sure about adam johnson anywhere. he seemed pretty at the start but his attitude has somehow taken over his game, he's not the same player. maybe thats due to the number of games he has played, but whenever a player has attitude like that it will have a negative effect in the dressing room.

Id love to see johnson at liverpool hes a lfc fan but them getting hazzard dont mean hes surplus they have 1 winger an 2 wings :s one left footed (a.j) and one right (hazzard) if they get him so once again the "experts" talkin poop

19 Mar 2012 09:41:43
Morning Eds
Have you heard anything about Ezequiel Schelotto plays for Atalanta and according to his agent he's coming over her for talks {Ed001's Note - I have asked around for you this morning, yet to hear back but I have been in a meeting most of the afternoon.}

19 Mar 2012 13:11:37
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but Özil showing a lot of support for Liverpool on twitter....quiet optimism if anything!!

GuvTOB

Whats his twitter name?
im sure if enough of us compliment him and say how much we love him on twitter he will wanna come to us. lets work together lads!

What has he said?

Cant find him saying anything on twitter at all, maybe im looking in the wrong places i.e. his official page.
I would love him to play for us but there would be an almighty scramble for his signature if he became available and without champions league football we may struggle to entice him.
I think we should look to progress Suso if we want a play maker type player, he could save the club millions.

Loafmaster Flex

Ive noticed that also. one off his twwets about 10 days ago said lfc legendary england

I don't think thats really ozil. he tweets in english and his 'verification tick' is just a symbol on the keyboard

Id love it pluss he never gets a full game. we can always dream ay :)

Its right, just checked it..... its seems like he is a LFC fan. use this to find his tweet account @Mesut0ezil.

Yeah, all of his tweet are in (pretty well contructed) English. That said, I wonder if a parody account could get that many followers without someone realising...

He's tweeting lots about us, God I'd love to see him come to Liverpool. Would resign Downing to the bench!

I think he might be a fan maybe from champions league final in Istanbul, he does embrace his Turkish side

19 Mar 2012 11:17:29
Looking at 4 Potential, Quality Wingers that wont break the Bank..

M.Philips 4-5M
Hoiller - Free
Moses - 7-9M (Wigan go down)
Zaha - 5-6 M

4 wingers for < 20M

Right so let's spend a further twenty million on more garbage. cop on sunshine.

Probably Matt Phillips can be very good. Not sure about the others, though.

Woy, keep out of our tranfers! You did enough damage the last time

Matt phillips would cost more than 4.5m they robbed us with the charlie adam deal they will want bout 8m

19 Mar 2012 10:40:32
Just heard that Joe Allen deal has been strick for 10mil. Has macca heard anything? Warr68

Looks like a class player
Shanio1

Have to call bulls**t on this, as the whole idea of 'tapping up' a player and the transfer rules of the premier league mean you cannot reach a deal for a player outside of a transfer window, unless the player is under 18.
furthermore, we still have Spearing, Gerro, Hendo, Adam and the returning Lucas, as well as Shelvey and other hopeful youngsters. Even on the asumption that Cole and Aquilani both leave permanently in summer, I cant see a central midfielder being a priority, or even something that will be looked at in detail.

Why would we want yet more MIDFIELDERS .....

BigD

Because he's better than most of the midfielders we have...

Not a chance for 10 mil

19 Mar 2012 09:50:29
If Wolves go down you can expect we'll be looking at snapping up Steven Fletcher. He won't take the drop to the championship, Kenny is a known admirer, and he's a boyhood Red. Fergie has had him scouted, and Big Eck wants him too, but his first choice would be us. He leads the line well, he can drop deep, he's good in the air, good finisher, still young, refuses to play for his country whilst that idiot's in charge (no chance of international injury! wahey!) and will always put in 100%, even if he's not starting. Would be a good signing for about 6m.

Matt Phillips remains a strong possibility, and interest still remains in Wilfried Zaha. I would expect to see one or two higher profile signings, one of which is likely to be Javi Martinez, but on the whole we'll be looking to bring in some up-and-coming youngsters.

Cheers

19 Mar 2012 08:46:38
Ed sorry to repeat what was said earlier but do you think lavezzi is a possible signing in the summer? I think he is an amazing player {Ed001's Note - no, I don't believe we will be trying to sign him.}

19 Mar 2012 08:03:18
Hey Eds, is there a possibility of signing Javi Martinez, Iker Muniain and Fernando Llorente?
I feel that they could be the finishing touches to our ever improving squad. Also, coming from the same club they would have an understanding with each other. If there is a chance, how much would each cost, I have seen in the past you say Bilbao want 40m+ for Muniain, but surely they wont get that? {Ed001's Note - I wish.}

I wish, u wish, we all wish, for ice-cream.

Kaizer

We will be staying at Anfield..

Cheers

Macca

Macca, what do u mean, i didnt get what u trying to say, who is we?

redh0t

You don't get what he means? He means 'we' as in Fleetwood Town.

Haha. Brilliantly stupid.

I would guess that he means Anfield will be improved and we won't be moving to a new ground at Stanley Park.

He Means Liverpool!!

as in we wont be moving to a new stadium....some guys eh?

Sometimes I say stupid things before 9am too. Best try and keep them to yourself though eh lad?

"we": the liverpool fans a duhhhhhhhh

We the flintstones ;)

Nice one Macca, thanks for the heads up.
I remember you said that was the favoured option months ago.

It's the Royal 'We'

The queen will start living at Anfield

Any more info macca

So are we expanding anfield?

19 Mar 2012 05:56:01
Has there been any interest in Huntelaar? He's been banging them in for Schalke and he only cost them 12m euros. 28 isn't that old. He failed in Madrid, but the team was a mess, at the time. Would love to see Carrol sold and the money (plus a bit more) spent on Ba and Huntelaar. {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to hearing any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell as it is going well for him in Gelsenkirchen.}

I dont think he failed at madrid really, scored 8 in 20 games not all starting. Then was left out of the champs league squad. I think he's a clinical striker and for £10 - £12M would be a good buy. He would have banged in alot of goals for us this season with the amount of opportunities we create.

19 Mar 2012 03:50:34
Not a rumour just a thought really.

I know its probably been asked many times before but what does everyone think about a return for Torres? Personally speaking if we could off load Carol I would love to see a partnership up front that would scare defences witless, of Saurez and Torres.

I am sure the thought of having him back would divide opinion but I believe he has unfinished business with the mighty reds.

Cheers.

Y.N.W.A

Yeah, but we have finished our business with him. we got 50m.

Kaizer

Oh for goodness sake, do some research on what he said on the way out the door and you will understand that Torres WILL NEVER PLAY FOR LIVERPOOL AGAIN. Good riddance. Give it a rest for all our sakes.

Torres isn't coming back.

Hope we get to the fa cup final, as does chelsea. then we'll show torres which team is on the road to success.

In future repress these thoughts, Don't want to see Torres within a mile of Melwood or Anfield. I would rather have 1 Andy Carroll then 3 Fernando Torres, Carroll will come good. In last few games the touch, fitness & passing has been coming back. Lou & Andy upfront next season will bag a shedload of goals. Get of the lads back it's getting boring!! (Don't like it, want that one!)

Get your head out of the clouds soft lad. move on. torres will never play for the reds again nor will he be welcome back.

Scare defences witless. Im sure i heard that when we signed robbie keane and him and torres were supposed to bang in the goals but never happened. But anyway Torres never come back.

18 Mar 2012 21:56:29
JW Ed 002 but do you think suarez will still leave. i always have said he will stay and you always have hinted he may leave. 2 difference of opinions no big deal. just wondering if you still think thats the case {Ed002's Note - I have said I suspect he will leave - and obviously there is a chance he may not. I am not going to change my mind day by day.}

Ed, so what is all this in the media about Suarez wanting to stay and Liverpool offering to have his contract extended. Is there truth in this? {Ed001's Note - there have been preliminary talks held with regard to a new contract.}

I was just wondering if all this signing a deal stuff changed your mind. and suspecting it and thinking it are basically the same thing

19 Mar 2012 00:37:27
Well done to all back to wembley it is, and question to edoo1 is Bellamy injured?
Maxi I thought was ineffective.
Well done let's carry on like this now
Hibsylfc {Ed001's Note - I have been trying to find out if he really is injured or not. I was told initially he was, but the rumours have made me wonder.}

Damn, is it the rumours about bellamy not being selected or something like that? i hope its not true. update us ed if u know anything.

Kaizer

If you take a look on the mirror website it lists the provisional squad for the stoke game which consisted of 19 players, not the 18 player squad limit so that says to me he was being assessed ahead of the game. Hope it was just an injury because i thought bellers had matured somewhat since returning. Hope he isnt bitchin again

Tomkop7

Maxi received the ball from Suarez and played it back perfectly: Suarez didn't break stride and scored a fantastic goal.
How you can say Maxi was ineffective is beyond me? Apart from his hand in that goal the lad played well.
kidmillions

He wasn't in any of the training photos from friday along with glen johnson which reiterates slight strains that kenny suggested to the media

19 Mar 2012 00:19:18
Eds,
Do you think we have a realistic chance of signing lavezzi in the summer?

1) without CL football
2) with CL football

? {Ed001's Note - it really depends on who else moves for him, more than Champs League. As it stands I think we have a very realistic chance, the only thing is that I don't believe he is the chosen target.}

We have no chance of signing him

Who is the choosen target then eds?

And i think/ hope he is one of our targets because kenny was at the chelsea v napoli game. Who else would he has scouted there? {Ed001's Note - just because we scout someone, it does not mean we are going to buy them.}

True. But i think the King would not scout the lad himself if he doesn't have an interest or like him or his style of play. True eds? {Ed001's Note - possibly, he does love to watch football though.}

18 Mar 2012 23:17:47
Eds at this moment in time do you think that Kenny will still be in charge next year? {Ed001's Note - yes, I do.}

If we win the FA cup we have to stick by him.
