Slow but exciting start to the season!

What are your thoughts on Dele Alli? At 18 years old, he seems a great prospect. 6ft2, scoring 1 in 4 games (pretty impressive for a CM in the championship), English and a Liverpool fan. Do you see us making an effort to bring him in as a potential replacement for Lucas (and long term maybe for Gerrard) either in January or summer? Or will his price have rocketed now he has signed a new contract?

Morning Eds, Ed001 if you are around, I know it is very early days yet, and that the last transfer window just closed, however, I was just wondering, do you know of any players that LFC would/may like to bring in in January Or perhaps go back for players that LFC couldn't get over the summer for whatever reason? (of course money permitting).

Also, could a new goal keeping coach be brought in, the current one seems to have not done to well with Mignolet. As I see it, If BR is being ruthless, so to speak, with players, shipping them out completely or on loan, why not with coaches as well.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know what the January plans are yet, I doubt anyone at the club does until a fair bit nearer the time. As far as I am aware, there are no plans in place to replace Achterberg.}

Given the amount we brought in during the summer window, I'd expect our signings will depend on who leaves the club. Even then, I'm sure it would be a good idea to not add any more faces until the summer.

Hi Eds,

Been following your site religiously since 2011, but posting for the first time in a really long time!

My question to Ed is that, have we targeted Sven Bender in the Jan transfer window? Or his brother Lars for that matter, though I think Sven is the more accomplished player, and so will be tougher to lure him?

Ed, do you prefer Lars or Sven? Personally I think Lars offers a Lil more than Sven.

Lars is the better player of the two. He can play box to box or as a CDM both roles to perfection. Sven on the other hand is a CDM strictly and a bit injury prone. IMO I would still try to sign Lars to replace Stevie G as Can is more of a box to box midfielder to challenge Hendo and Allen for the CM spots. Play Lars as a CDM.

Like Indian Buzzer said, Lars is better than his brother Sven (who's not a bad player at all). The thing is that Lars is more of a Box to Box and I think that we need a more defensive-minded midfielder, since BR doesn't fancy Lucas, so If I were to choose one, I would prefer Sven.
