Coutinho to liverpool for 8m. Hopefully with sneijder to follow at end of transfer window. Continho is 100% tho.

Battern85

100% no chance. Inter do not want to sell him and the rumours are they recently rejected a £10 mill bod from aston villa for him so no chance of £8 mil being accepted.

Lfc have put a bit of £8 mil %100 tru

I believe the bid has been rejected this seems more realistic target then sneijder tho fits FSG youth policy

Not for £8 mill he isn't.

About time we bid for him, as Tony Barrett said its been rejected but expect us to go back with a higher bid.

There's always someone who nobody is expecting that ends up arriving.

BigD

That supposed bid was rejected so 8m can't be 100%

Ryanwhittington

What kind of insane paralell universe do you live in where it makes sense to go for two central midfielders who play in the same position? it's not like the club is lacking in that area... and with BR saying that Suso will eventually be played central as a number 10, it would make more sense to speculate about wingers.

Not a cat in hells chance. Same for Wesley Spider, it isn't going to happen, I hate to put a dampener on things but Sturridge was the main target, maybe a fringe player on loan before the 31st but that will be it. Rodgers has said openly there won't be "big money" spent and certainly comes across as though the club are looking at targets for the summer rather than this month.

Hello eds,
Do we have any interest in Coutinho? Guy from CNN italy said we had an 8mil bid rejected. I know, I know its twitter but thought i'd ask
Thanks in advance!
YNWA {Ed052's Note - not from us I dont think. I dont think we would have any interest in him}

Yeah sky italia running this apparently sort of player we would sign.

Tony Barrett seems to think so, among others, too. {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains unchanged in that Inter have no intention of selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I think his future in Milan is assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England so any move would not be easy.}

Yeah confirmed on the Guardian website story but our bid was rejected hopefully we can get one in I think he would add to our youth squad go for him at least he isn't English

Commie Red

All over the papers mate must have some truth to it bid been rejected.

He's a great prospect, Rafa gave him his chance and spoke highly of him when he was at Inter and even told the LFC scouts to keep an eye on him when he got the sack

Also reported by Bascombe at the Telegraph so not just twitter, would be interesting.

Well Ed052, looks like several mainstream media outlets and papers carrying this story now. So perhaps we do have some interest... {Ed052's Note - ive answered this. I cannot see us signing him and know nothing of a bid. And several media outlets may be reporting it, but they just tend to copy each other anyway}

Ed002,
I very much enjoy your insight into the financial side of the transfer market and many of us are grateful to have an editor with specialist knowledge. I understand it may be frustrating for you at times but I hope you do continue to discuss or disclose numbers.
Bren, {Ed002's Note - Within reason Bren we are all happy to help out.}

Yeah thanks Eds, for enlightening us all.
I used to read the headlines and think no more about a transfer. Now, from reading this site, I understand there can be huge complexities with both transfer fees and salary, never mind the agents fees, taxes, signing on and exit fees, T&Cs etc. Football used to be such a simple game! Thanks for the insight Eds, keep it going.
Digger

I bet it's nice to not be bashed for once ed? More of this!

ChrisMiz

I totally agree with you Bren, ED002s knowledge in these matters is very specialised, and although she gets stick she has the patience of an angel. To share this information lets us all understand in more detail, some of the more complex financial reasons for things. A joy to read.

It must have been her early upbringing in a nuns convent in Switzerland, followed by a three year religious sabbatical (eating only vegetable soup) that gave her the ability to be kind to all men.

Maybe that's the reason she doesn't like trolls !

Danny Wilson has joined hearts on loan till end of the season

18 Jan 2013 18:30:53
I read an article today suggesting that Sahin had been played out of position, not used to his full potential and not given the time to make an impression. The stats stated that liverpool had lost only one game that he had played in, and that was in his debut against Arsenal.

I have always trusted BR but I think he got this very wrong. Sahin was a significant part of German title winning team. Why has BR not been able to get the best out of him? {Ed052's Note - it wasnt BRs fault, simplyNS didn't fit}

18 Jan 2013 18:47:01
Hope he stays there for his sake, not up to LFC standard and struggles in the Reserves.

More wages saved lol
Let's buy Snejider :-)

Stoffe

It wil do him good.

Wilson is out of contract in the summer anyway .. and hasn't been offered a new one. He is GONE!

LFC loan Danny Wilson to Hearts

Scott

18 Jan 2013 18:05:08
Danny Wilson is off this month from what I am hearing he is going back to Scotland, Hearts have been mentioned. I think it is a loan

Hi ED I hope you rap up warm with all this snow.
Just got a quick question are we after this player Leo Baptistao. and if so what are the chances of getting by the end of this month.

Thanks BraveOne {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Baptistao from Liverpool that we are aware and it is unlikely he would get a work permit just yet, although Fulham and Sunderland have made enquiries. Expect Atletico Madrid to look to him.}

18 Jan 2013 17:16:04
Walcott has signed a new deal with Arsenal, £90/wk so that's that one put to bed, (as the Eds have said all along).
Wish all of the Sjneider dreamers would wake up! He's obviously driven by money, we don't want or need his like here.
In Brendan we trust.

Sneijder is needed. He says it isn't about money. Have to believe him

Sneijder will only go to a big club

19 Jan 2013 12:21:07
why is there like 32 people clicked unbelievable on this post what he's sed is truth? haters ha just don't like hearing stuff they don't want to here makes me laugh :)

18 Jan 2013 16:56:37
hye eds, since nigel adkins already been fired by southampton, what are the odds of vegard forren signing for southampton? is there any interest from liverpool? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function. This was done to death.}

Absolute disgrace that Adkins has been sacked.

Two successive promotions and doing well in premier league. Disgrace.

Now I wish they get relegated by placing 20th and Ramirez leaves them to join us!!...

He was announced earlier today.

ChrisMiz

Sad for Adkins, was doing a decent job and seemed to be a real gentleman. Wouldn't mind Gaston Ramirez if he decies to jump ship.

18 Jan 2013 16:48:08
hey eds,
could you shed any light on why coates could be moved on?? or are we just looking at loaning him? I can't understand it I see him being a great player in the future and don't get why we would sell him..
keep it up on site, love it on here!
MrJimmy10210 {Ed002's Note - It would appear he wants to be playing in the first team and is looking to find a place where he can.}

I think he could be a very good CB if given a chance in a team, takes a few seasons of EPL to get up to standard, but I think he's got it. Hopefully we get a CB in and he can go on loan for the rest of the season and show his qualities. Come back and really challenge Daniel and Martin next season.

I can understand Coates wanting more first team football, he is a quality player but Brendan seems to ignore him. I would be sad to see him go as we would be unlikely to pick up another CB as good as him for cover.
CR

Best thing to do is to let the man get first-team football.

I hope the speculation on Sneijder is correct, though I have little hope of it being so. Not because he wouldn't come, nor the owners not paying his salary, but because I am not convinced BR wants him.

In the meantime, I am confident we will sign two more players in this window. So far, we are down one man compared with September, when BR described the squad as "thin", so surely we will pick up two more.

Erisksen, Gotze or Ozil would be my preferred, far ahead of Sneijder, and I realize that these are unrealistic, atleast in january. Fingers crossed for the summer.

Coop

Eriksen or ozil

I know eriksen wants to join spurs! I think sneijder could be possible provided no one else comes in for him!

Rodgers described his strike force and forward line as thin. With Borini fit and Sturridge signed, and able to occasionally rest Sterling, and Downing not been absolute pants anymore, we actually have a bit of possibilities up front now. Our midfield is not thin especially with Lucas regaining match fitness, nor is our defense other than limited quality in CB back ups which is not altogether uncommon (ask Citeh when they thought Kompany might have a 3 man ban).

We could certainly use 2 or 3 more quality players in the squad but who couldn't?

SpudRed

Liverpool are much bigger than spurs.

None of these players will be joining Liverpool. Not least in January.

Gav

Wake up people !! Liverpool are not able to attract these sort of players at the mo. Seriously, these are some of the best young players in the world, Barca, are Madrid, Bayern, Juve, both Manc clubs, Chelski are all above us in picking these sort of players up ( sad but true). We need to be in the CL as a minimum b4 these players will entertain coming & even then some of the pre mentioned clubs will still be ahead of us.
I am a die hard LFC fan but some of the players fans expect us to sign are ridiculous, fantasy players !!
YNWA

18 Jan 2013 15:50:16
Walcott signed 3 1/2 year contract worth £100k a week. No move there anymore.
James {Ed002's Note - There really was not going to be a move for Walcott James.}

Never heard of Walcott James, which club does he play for and what is his transfer fee?
Is he the Brother of David James the goalie?

There was never any really interest in Theo wanting to leave, he was always looking for a contract. Was sorta obvious ...

18 Jan 2013 15:38:32
Alot of fans me included are checking every 10 minutes holding out breath and waiting for sneijder signing. then going to cry when he doesn't lol.

GAM#

Have to admit to being one of them.

My head tells me not a chance in hell, but yet I keep coming back to the hope. I know better.

SpudRed

The moment he is willing to take cuts for us is the moment other clubs will pounce on that opportunity. It's not going to happen. So don't get your hopes up.

I no I'm the same lol

18 Jan 2013 14:52:59
Eds it's gone very quiet regarding Tom Ince. Is that deal now off? tv is reporting that Walcott will soon be signing a new deal at the gooners and Rodgers has dismissed the Sneijder rumours. Do you think that concludes our January transfer business or are there any other potential targets we should be looking at? ps Great work on the site. {Ed002's Note - I think a deal can still be done with Ince. As far as I am concerned there was no Liverpool interest in Walcott and he was expected to sign a new deal.}

Rodgers did not "dismiss" the WS rumours, he answered the question in a clever manner. Remember AC was definitely not going out on loan !

Rodgers wanted Sneijder.

Hope that is the end for Ince. Blackpool are behaving like tossers. while I appreciate clubs want as much as they can get they always push it too far. Instead of us going higher and higher and ending up looking desperate, we should tell them to shove it, move on and pick up someone of proven ability better than him for the same or less

18 Jan 2013 14:36:22
Ed002 - I know we are killing you on this subject but I just wanted to check something with you. Gala have officially come out to correct the media on figures being .................... Cheers red nick {Ed002's Note - Nick - Your math is wrong and we are not going to discuss the salary anymore as the supporters simply cannot grasp or understand the numbers at all.}

18 Jan 2013 15:16:19
Ed002 - v grumpy!!! {Ed002's Note - Football supporters - mathematically challenged!!!}

How hard can it be for someone to grasp that Player A costs :
£Xm to purchase including transfer fee / agents fee / signing on fee
£Ym per year including gross salary and expected bonuses

Okay appreciate you may need a maths degree to understand image rights and co-ownership deals

But fans will always want to know the cost of the player and his annual contract value.

Coates should STAY. Good personalities, skill (he's ball winner CB). Dunno why BR don't give him more chance, maybe play him as LB just like Agger once under Rafa. YNWA, Coates!

18 Jan 2013 14:26:40
Ed002, Thanks for answering my question about Coates, I didn't realise so many teams were interested in him.

Great work with the site, all the fans appreciate the work put in.

Kelly Red {Ed002's Note - Thanks Kelly.}

Eds - with Wilson out on loan, if Coates leaves, another CB will have to be signed? {Ed002's Note - If he is sold then yes, I agree. If he is loaned out then it makes no sense.}

18 Jan 2013 14:25:40
Ed - a lot of talk of Rodgers going for Sneijder but only if he is willing to lower his wage demands. If Sneijder is willing to take a pay cut, why not stay on at Inter then? Singred {Ed002's Note - Those bridges have been burned.}

18 Jan 2013 14:18:28
Ed...
Germio signed Vargas on loan..
23, Chilie international..
Young skillfull and pacy winger..

IF we would have never bought downing..This guy would have been in Liverpool shirt {Ed002's Note - And then Liverpool could be sending him out on loan now - he never settled in Europe.}

Ed's he didn't settle in Europe doesn't mean he can't settle in England. You realize that Robinho couldn't settle well in England but is relaxed in Italy??. Maybe the opposite can, be true for Vargas {Ed002's Note - Whatever.}

You do realize he was very sought after as a striker, he could be a winger but is mainly a striker. He was the top scorer in the Copa Sudamerican.

Do you people just look at players involved in transfers and think "Oh I will post this on rumours and look like I am knowledgeable" F**k away off.

Con

Do people automatically think that because Liverpool might express a passing interest in a player that he will instantly sign for us?

18 Jan 2013 14:17:09
Hey Eds I know you said summer is a long time away but do you think Brendan might splash out on the wage bill and bring back Alonso to the club during the summer?, I think he is exactly what we need at our club and a high table finish
Thanks for the reply in advance Cheers, Zincho {Ed002's Note - It would need a transfer fee as well and I have no idea if BR has any interest in Alonso or other players in their early 30s.}

18 Jan 2013 14:16:11
So eds just to clarify who else have 'interest' in sneijder?

JD {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray.}

"Liverpool are interested in Wesley Sneijder, but only if he comes and promises to jig about Anfield for beans. That'll be that, then. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are more likely destinations, given what we know about the negotiating abilities of the Liverpool pen-pushers"

Sad, but true, Ayre and co really couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag.

And, personally, I'd be very happy to get Sneijder in here on 100K a week, but then I bet a lot of other teams would too. And, oh, but Gala will be pissed if he blows them off and takes less wages to play somewhere else. Apparently, his missus is dead set on NOT going to turkey.

SpudRed

And half the posters on this site !!!

If Gala are only ones interested surely we are in with a shot. I would be surprised if Utd didn't go in for him in particular. The thought of RVP and sneijder makes me sick.

Imagine Sneijder, Gerrard, Suarez and Sturridge argh I can't think about it because i'd be amazed if it happened haha

JD

I am a spurs fan and he definitely isnt going to Galatasaray. Inter Milan would like him to but he certainly doesnt. Would you want to go to Turkey? He wants to play in premiership and Liverpool, Spurs and Man United are 3 teams he would consider but Spurs don't want him and have made no offer, Man United haven't either and seems like Liverpool haven't at this stage either. I expect developments to happen from next wednesday onwards. I guess Inter will accept less and that may interest one of the 3 clubs mentioned possibly

18 Jan 2013 13:13:27
Hi Ed001,,

Just wondering if there's any truth in the rumour that West Brom are interested in Coates? I read about it in the Daily Mail (haha, it must be true so right)

Cheers, and keep up the good work

Kelly Red {Ed002's Note - Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus and WBA have been mentioned as a possible loan option.}

Would prefer a loan option to WBA. Seb needs time on the pitch, would hate to see him sold.

18 Jan 2013 13:12:52
It's being reported in Italy that LAST NIGHT Liverpool bid 10 million Euro to match Gala and was accepted by Moriatti.

I'm not going to follow the hype around this BUT I would like to know if the EDS do have some insight if they can confirm or deny a LFC bid took place or ANY CONTACT with Inter over Snedjer.

Thanks Septimus_Red ..PS excellent site nice and fast moving ..GOOD WORK! {Ed002's Note - As I have explained - as of earlier this morning Liverpool has not made a bid to Inter. Someone suggested that a bid would be made this weekend.}

So ed002 someone with insight has suggested to you that Liverpool may make an approach this coming weekend? Hope you're all well! Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - That is not what I said.}

According to my info Tom Werner is due to fly in this weekend for transfer talks with BR and will attend the match on saturday if weather permits... Got a feeling the Sneijer deal to Liverpool FC is a strong possibility!

Brad

Don't you just love being a Liverpool supporter, we get so excited and when the eds say something that's unlikely to happen we convince ourselves it will. I've been doing it all week about snjeider cheers red nick

Edoo2 don't no how you do it mate must be a night mare all this snijder stuff ha ha we all love to dream though would be a nice deal if can be done for the right price for the club cheers for putting up with us all though I no I couldnt

mike

Sorry ed002, I misunderstood what you meant then! Who is supposed to bid for Wes this weekend? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - Someone suggested a bid by Liverpool.}

Oh well that sounds good! Is that someone reliable? Do you still reckon that it will be hard for Liverpool to complete a deal for him? Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - It was suggested by someone in Germany who I would not know is reliable or not. Liverpool cannot afford to pay him anything like the salary he wants. If he is willing to take a very significant drop then it might be possible to do something. I provided an explanation of the status yesterday again - and nothing has changed from there.}

Hi Eds,

Do you mean someone as in generally someone you know or someone as in papers/ twitter

GAM# {Ed002's Note - See above - it seems unlikely I would be quoting Twitter unless the ever reliable WoderDogSparky says it's true.}

18 Jan 2013 12:37:11
Hello eds! First of all I'd like to say thank you for the work you guys are doing. This site is the only reliable one I came across with. Have you heard anything about the possible transfer of Balázs Dzsudzsák? He was fantastic with PSV and we were linked with him just before his move to Anzhi. The Hungarian press is saying we are interested in signing him. I know his wages would be an issue although I'd love it if happened, he is the engine pushing Dinamo right now and he is a skillful and pacy winger who has wonderful shooting technique. Would like to know if you've heard anything? Thank you and keep up the good work.

Patrick from Budapest {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest at this time Patrick.}

18 Jan 2013 12:03:56
Is there any club that has shown interest in lucas digne?Keep up the good work!BeTheReds {Ed002's Note - Lille's Lucas Digne has already attracted the attention of Lyon, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid. He would not want to move to sit on the bench and is more likely to stay in Lille after signing a new deal. But certainly one to watch.}

18 Jan 2013 12:37:45
have the eds been snowed off?

18 Jan 2013 11:55:37
Eds and Reds,
What are the chances that we could see a swap deal of Pepe Reina for Victor Valdes?

Hopefully minimal, if you think Valdes is any better than you've clearly never watched Barcelona.

Reina is better.

Hopefully none valdes isnt in the same league if he wasnt at barcelona no one would look at him twice

18 Jan 2013 13:37:46
Raina has been auful since last season. Mistake after mistake it might be time to change things

I would rather take my chances with Brad Jones then have Valdes !

I'm not suggesting one is better than the other, I honestly think their pros and cons outweigh each other and they're pretty even.
However, rumours suggest Reina wants out of Liverpool and Valdes wants out of Barca, how likely would it be to change keepers?

18 Jan 2013 11:38:16
Hello eds,
I was wandering where interest for Eriksen is from and whether you could see us making a move come the summer.
Keep up the good work!
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons and with only limited options for January, I suspect the player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

18 Jan 2013 10:50:38
For ed002, you previously stated markovic will not happen for lfc, however your latest post on the subject suggests agent slowing down negotiations, is this with lfc or another club?

Thanks for your time as always

Jamie {Ed002's Note - The negotiations are with Chelsea.}

18 Jan 2013 10:49:39
Hi Ed002,
would it possible to get Cavani sending Suarez the other way? thanks. {Ed002's Note - No, that is not going to happen.}

If Arsenal are bidding we should bid aswell... Why not? Cavani number 9 and best his friend Suarez no7 with Sniejer no10 behind them will win us the league next season!!

Brad

18 Jan 2013 10:38:38
Hi Ed002,
will Liverpool go for Valdes? thanks. {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off. I find it doubtful myself.}

18 Jan 2013 10:36:28
hi eds who are we looking to loan in? is it jeffren and gameiro if so who is more liklier? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new regarding loans right now. Interest in Jeffren seems to have waned.}

18 Jan 2013 10:22:40
hey eds can you fill me with any information regarding lazar markovic from liverpool?
regards RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - It seems Twitter placed Markovic at Liverpool yesterday but that was erroneous as I spent last night explaining. Lazar Markovic has previously attracted the attention of Milan, Fiorentina, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Espanyol. The player is keen to move to Chelsea and a move in January is possible, but no fee has yet been finalised with Partizan Belgrade. Michael Emenalo has been visiting Belgrade to watch him play and there were meetings between Chelsea and his agent immediately after Christmas. At a more recent meeting it was found that a new agent was representing Markovic - whilst it may ease the completion of a move to Chelsea I suspect the cost could well increase.}

18 Jan 2013 10:13:58
If sniejder signs for us I'll run butt naked round anfield, i'm that confident it won't happen, me running round starkers in this weather won't be flattering. I agree a sniejder type player is needed, but I agree with ed002, I think inan is being looked at and possibly being set up for a summer move

Red gaz

Look forward to that

I don't think the weather will make any difference

I only live 5 minutes from the ground so tell me when and I'll bring my camera.

On a serious note, does anyone know if this inan is any good ?

18 Jan 2013 10:01:27
Reports today from Italy say Liverpool FC will put a bid in for Sneijder this weekend... Looks like we could see him in red soon... YES!!

How the fluh would anyone in Italy know what LFC are going to do this weekend, next week, next year? Or does the club send out advance flyers to interested parties -

'Just to inform you that we shall be bidding for Sneijder on Saturday morning (just after you've left the office), you're all welcome to the cazy golf charity gala on Sunday and the bingo numbers for next week are...'

I think we all need to calm down on this one...

Belfast Pete {Ed002's Note - Actually the Italians seem to have picked up on something someone said in Germany. I think there is a likely caveat that unless he agrees to at least halve his wage demands then Liverpool won't even bother approaching Inter.}

18 Jan 2013 09:17:25
Hi Lads, love reading the site and it is an observation more than a rumour. Looking at the various sites, it appears that the Sneijder rumours/ stories are taken pace in the papers today albeit if the wages can be agreed at a serious reduction for both player and club. The longer Sneijder stays away from Gala, the more his negotiation powers are reduced. I have always liked him as a player and feel he would bring something to the team and more importantly to the younger players who would gain from his experience no end. I am fully behind Rodgers and LFC with their policies on buying players, wage structures etc., and I think it is time to stop the chaos over paying players for essentially kicking a ball and selling t-shirts. I just hope the fans can stay patient with him and give him the time to build a successful team. But in the meantime, I think the Sneijder rumours may have legs and lets watch with interest. Ed002 I have read your posts and while I agree with you, I think there just might be something there. If it does'nt happen, so be it, there is someone else out there..... {Ed002's Note - Liverpool may well be interested at the right price, there is no denying that. They can speak to his agent and representatives about the player. Again, as of this morning Liverpool has made no offer to Inter.}

He has to ask himself one question "What is more important, money or football ?", unfortunately most footballers nowadays are obsessed with cash over playing/trophies. If the answer is money then bye bye, if football lets play ball (no pun intended)

18 Jan 2013 08:33:33
Hello Eds,
1) Is it true Coates is close to a loan move at WBA ?
2) Do you know of our interest in any CB's to replace him ?
I know of Isminat Mirin but are there any others. {Ed002's Note - Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus and WBA have been mentioned as a possible loan option. It makes little sense to me to replace a player if he is only going on loan. If he is to be sold, sure.}

Disagree Ed 002, it makes sense.
Sadly this maybe Jamie Carrghers last season, therefore we need another centre half and Coates needs game time in the EPL to see if he is good enough and the gain experience.
Loan to WBA would be good move for all involved. {Ed002's Note - You mis-read what I said - I did not say the loan doesn't make sense, I said buying a player to replace a player on loan makes little sense.}

18 Jan 2013 08:19:40
What is this ridiculous rumour on transfermarkt about M'barak Boussoufa?
10mil for 28 year old slightly above average player? I can't believe there is any chance that LFC could search for playmaker that desperately and stupid, so they would rather waste 10 mil on M'barak then increase offer for Sneijder...

18 Jan 2013 02:47:22
Hi eds,
Is the deal with lazar markovic done?

BigD {Ed002's Note - The question was not about Liverpool. I spent last night explaining that after everone went wild for something on Twitter.}

Hi eds, a work colleague said today he read we were linked with yuan gourcuff of Lyon. Can't find anything linking us online just old stories from few years ago. Have yous heard anything or do yous think its another idle rumour?

Thanks

Mark {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - is he fit to play at all? Spartak did actually show some interest and certainlt Lyon would offload him given a chance.}

I know the Eds have given their knowledge on the Sneijder situation but The Liverpool Echo are now reporting our interest and to be fair they are usually accurate enough. They are reporting we're interested if Sneijder will cut his wages by half. Any truth eds?

Irish Redman

I do hope that sneijder move to us, but in the latest press conference, BR stated that he can't see sneijder move to us ... that's conclude the sneijder rumours

Would love him in red! but we should have no interest in 'money players', we've just got rid o one and might be part paying his wages anyway???

Sneijder is simply not worth the allegedly sought after 200,000 per week. Messi is probably the only player in world football that is !

If he accepts the pay cut he would be on similar wages to Joe Cole. I for one would rather see Sneijder as he would provide better value than Joe for sure. But is this the "values" that FSG and Rogers are promoting - we are not a money club and we shouldn't invest in players whose main concern is wages rather than career progress and the best for the team of which they are employed!

Like I said previously, just get him Jimmy Carrs accountant!

Yes we would probably be interested if he more than halves his wage demands, however what's the chances of that happening when he refused to drop them by a third at Inter?

Do you really think he will drop his wages by half? And if he does then probably every club in Europe will become interested. I just can't see it happening but I like the fact Rodgers has the balls to even look into a deal when you know for a fact that FSG have probably just looked at Sneijder's age and branded it a no go deal. Sneijder will not move to Liverpool though.
The Gooch

The Echo is the least reliable source I know. They regurgitate the dross the others print the day before.

They've probably just picked up on the rumour that has been doing the rounds for week.

They should just stick to printing rubbish spoken by ex players who should know better and when to shut up

I saw a story in the media that basically says that BR IS interested in wesley sneijder but only if he takes a massive pay cut. United are also sniffing around. What do you make of this eds?

Cozy {Ed002's Note - I have explained my views enough.}

Can another ED please reply!!...=) {Ed076's Note - Ed002 is the expert on this, you should ask him.}
