Liverpool have appointed King Kenny as manager, and he and Commoli have been negotiating with several quality players to be signed in the summer. I know for certain that Steven Defour has been contacted. Holger Badstuber and Shinji Kagawa have been the subject of several scouting missions in germany this season. Its to my understanding that a top striker based in Spain has all but agreed to join Liverpool in the summer. (It's not Benzema either!) I can assure you my information is 100% accurate.

How can they have the PFA Awards when the season hasnt even finished, ive never understood thIs.
It should be a bigger event. With more awards, for eg: the golden boot and golden glove should be in it, most assists, fair play team award, goal of the season, save of the season, manager of the season, etc.
Also something like referee and linesman of the season, like on a performance stats basis, how many correct decicions, etc.
Thats how id do it anyway.
Harry5:)YNWA {Ed007's Note - I've said the same thing for years, alot can happen between awards and end of season, and a good idea about refs etc. It's well past time that refs can be "promoted/relegated" for their performances.

If I was a betting man, I would expect the contract to be announced around the time of the Spurs match to give players a psychological boost on what could be a critical match regarding final position. . .

Announcement soon. (i doubt it would be tonight. So my guess is maybe tomorrow or in couple days. i don't see why it would be announced longer than that.)

Heard that scouts have been sent over to madrid to check out the young forward Alvaro Morata. Think this boy would be a quality back up to suarez and carroll, and is young enough to sit, learn and play hissocks off when called upon! what do you think?

Ed i would much rather see jarvis than young as young cuts in far to much and we are crying out for width and that's exactly what jarvis gives you

i think jarvis is a decent player, maybe bolton standard or somethin, not for us, as for young he is so greedy its untrue, i was a fan of his an thought he'd be a great buy but after watching him more an more he is really greedy an seems not to be a good team player, if we were to go to villa for a winger i'd go for downing or a cheeky bid for albrighton, payet looks a good player but i'd hav to see more of him to be sure, willian looks a great player but i think he'd want CL football an it looks like chelsea are in for him, if we were to look abroad i'd personally gor for either krasic or menez both top players

{Ed002's Note - Payet would be an excellent solution on the right. There are certainly players who Liverpool have looked at who would do a good job. Elia was of interest in January but Liverpool were scared off by the fee - perhaps they will return.}

Ed i saw that united were mayb afted forlan due to his fallin out with the manager. u think it would b a shout to bid for him? reunite bim with suarez upfront? i know hes an aul lad now but hes still very good!

The truth is that KK will sign a great back defence Bosingwa from Chelsea in a (free transfer) he is better, quicker, and highly performanced. . {Ed001's Note - and also a right back and much older.....}

I agree that there is a need to recruit a centre back and for me either of the Birmingham players (Johnson or Dann) would be a good buy for the squad. Wickham has signed a new contract at Ipswich already so it seems less likely he will move.}

The last I heard Macca say was that at the time Benzema was a done deal but that the situation could possibly change

Liverpool have agreed deals to sign Ashley Young from Aston Villa and Newcastle left back Jose Enrique.
England winger Young has been a long term target for the Anfield club and he looks set to join in the summer along with Spanish defender Enrique.
Joining them could be Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam, also a target for Manchester United. A source close to the club said a deal is close for Adam, while Liverpool are also still in the hunt for Bolton centre back Gary Cahill.
Adam was being chased by both Liverpool and United before the January transfer window but the Seasiders managed to hold out and keep Adam to bolster their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Now it is thought Adam will go whatever Blackpool's fate in a month's time. He may well leave Bloomfield Road along with manager Ian Holloway.

The Guardian has mentioned that Enrique and A Young are likely to join Liverpool this summer. Both would improve the team massively.
I think (hope) the hype about Charlie Adam has died down, he's done nothing for the past 3 months and I think he'd be a poor signing for the team.

Very little information leaking out of the club. What does seem to be the trend though is this. The posts on here where we are signing half a team (and more in some cases) are wildly far off the mark. We are looking for a winger and a centre back. Both will be no older than mid-20's, improving and not yet at their peak. We will also be buying a clutch of younger players in the late-teens bracket and we will not flinch from paying big money for talented disciplined young players. All players currently on the books will be reviewed during the summer and released where applicable. Rumours about Glyn Johnson going are wrong. Dalglish likes him and particulalry likes his versatlity of being able to play defence/ wing on either side of the pitch. Likewise Lucas will be staying (he is improving greatly and has massive potential). Many players will go though - particularly older ones who have passed their best - no names as of yet but I think it's a 'given' that Kyrgiakos will go as will Jovanovic, Poulsen, Aurelio. I will perhaops have mopre definate news in a couple of weeks.

If we got Young, Dzsudzsak and Elia, as an example, what about other positions mate? Macca says Adam and Benzema are nailed on, apparently Enrique is a done deal, Ive been told Wickham is nailed on, and the need for a CB is high, Agger is injured too often, Skrtel was immense vs City, yesterday he looked shaky (inconsistent), Carra is not getting any younger, and Soto is too slow, can't handle tricky players, by the time he turns around, the balls in the net. Either that, or he gives a peno away. Cahill is the one we want and we had scouts watching PSG looking at Sakho. I also know that we want a backup GK, as Jones has been told hes not wanted. We have not been watching Rennes for M'Vila, its for Douchez, hes 31 and a free in the summer. But you say you only expect 4/ 5 signings and this is 8/ 9 signings. Cheers mate reply if you can.
