Hi all read of this what you like but I saw a text sent yesterday apparently from the p.a of somebody pretty high up at Anfield. I was going on about this supposed takeover talk. Basically said the talk of Chinese takeover was B.S. it read the Chinese are going after the world cup and were not looking to buy our club . And also fsg think that by winning the premier leage, it would make them worth a billion plus.

It also said mane was nearly sealed but Southampton want to appoint a manager first so they don't lose player and manager and keep the fans inside. Also they have not received a bid for couthino, but bar a looked at him, but decided he needed to add more goals to his game and the psg talk was not true, but they are bracing themselves for a bid which will be rejected straight away.

Believe what you will, but this was what I saw yesterday. Was going to post last night but the abuse some people get on here made me think otherwise, but what the hell. Hope you all believe it.

Wow dude

Must have been a pretty long text. Basically answered everyone's questions in one text.

Sorry don't believe a word of it.

Good stuff, Ted. I hope you are right about everything except maybe the one about Mane being done and only kept back due to management issues. I personally don't rate him higher than our very own Adam Lallana! Cheers anyway, Ted.

Best regards
M. Smedegaard.

Must of cost a fortune sending that text ;o)

That was a long text then!

Okay, I believe you. Now smile. It's Friday night.

17 Jun 2016 20:08:04
So the Chinese are trying to buy the World Cup?

Thanks for the info ted. 😚.

Agree8 Disagree10

17 Jun 2016 20:52:31
Ted don't take it personally mate. You must have realised how unbelievable the post is, or you wouldn't have signed off with "I hope you all believe it" ;)

Agree7 Disagree12

17 Jun 2016 23:07:59
Trying to buy the World Cup? Well if Russian and Qatar can then China certainly can. Then we'll just head over to North Korea for the full set!

Agree3 Disagree12

18 Jun 2016 05:35:03
Thanks for posting mate, I actually think some of this makes sense, esp the Coutinho bit. Not so sure about China buying the WC!

Better than reading a bunch of rubbish about how our squad isn't up to scratch.

Agree1 Disagree14

18 Jun 2016 08:09:56
Love this type of post. Thanks Ted.

Think we need to buy better than sane to win the premier league anytime soon though!

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Jun 2016 09:59:04
With any luck there isn't any interest in Mane.

Agree3 Disagree14

18 Jun 2016 13:39:28
It does not mention China buying world cup it says there going after the world cup. China are currently trying to raise their credibility in football hence the very high wages and stupid transfer fees . If they get the world cup it will be raised more. at this time the big guns are not interested in buying abroad .

Agree4 Disagree19

18 Jun 2016 16:11:13
If we ever secure a china owners, we will not be making great players, we will be buying them. For once it feels great to be on othet side.

Agree2 Disagree14

18 Jun 2016 13:40:14
Southampton are closing on Redmond and I expect they would happily let Mane leave for their asking amount. Liverpool has shown in the past we conduct decent business with Southampton. If klopp struggles to bring in any winger this window, expect a late bid for Mane.

Decent effort mate one of the better attempts at a rumour, well done. Complete nonsense though lol.

I remember a while a ago Liverpool were close to signing Clint Dempsey. What happened there.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool were accused of tapping up Clint Dempsey which is why Mr Werner and Mr Ayre issued apologies to Fulham in order to have them withdraw their complaint to the FA. A transfer was not going to happen after that.}

17 Jun 2016 15:12:57
Thank Ed. Liverpool seem to make a habit of this.

Agree6 Disagree11

17 Jun 2016 16:39:33
It's at a stage of embarrassment now. Can we honestly think we can do it and get away with it much longer?

Agree4 Disagree16

17 Jun 2016 18:21:31
If you have been doing something and getting away with it for long enough it turns into the norm. Maybe a slap on the wrist is the kick up the hole we need.

Agree2 Disagree9

{Ed001's Note - thing is we did do so, hence why I got pelters for saying he was set to sign when it didn't go through and he went to Spurs. He was all agreed to join us, but we had gone to him first instead of the club. Idiotic way to work.}

17 Jun 2016 18:24:06
Why not?

Plenty of employment headhunters out there in our ordinary lives, so why is filthy rich football any different?

What's the problem?

Blame the players if anyone, and not the club's.

I don't see how football is any different.

I don't see why Mr Joe Bloggs is any different when his star plumber is lured away for a better wage.

Do we see people moaning then?

No, because they get on with it instead of frigging whingeing!

Agree1 Disagree11

{Ed001's Note - different employment contracts, they do not require registration to play elsewhere.}

17 Jun 2016 20:53:05
Just follow the rules of the game and organisations, it shouldn't be hard, especially after being warned. Why do they do it, to avoid the embarrassment of being rejected of the club say yes and they player no?

Agree3 Disagree8

17 Jun 2016 22:13:59
I bet the majority of transfers have an element of tapping up its just sometimes it goes more public (like Zeilinski saying that he'd spoken to Klopp in the press) . There are so many ways to contact someone these days you can't tell me that a manager or other club rep never speaks to a player of another team to sound them out before approaching their club. It's totally naive to think that everyone plays by the rules.

Agree5 Disagree7

17 Jun 2016 23:09:44
As a recruiter, luring someone away from a job into another job is one thing. But convincing a company to dump a contract, even when it's a one person company, to take up my contract is a) exceptionally unprofessional and b) likely to end in lawsuits surrounding fair business practice.

Agree2 Disagree7

18 Jun 2016 02:41:09
I wonder, is this tapping-up behaviour, a long term Liverpool FC habit, or is this about FSG`s transfer policy? As I dimly recalls the FSG (in their early LFC days) said something like: "We won't overpay for any player".

Tapping up players, and also loosing out on preferred targets on small cash principle seems to have become far to common in this club.

It all smells mediocre to me. But then again, it could just be something wrong with my nose.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - it was going on long before FSG.}

18 Jun 2016 08:11:24
Shame we don't tap up some decent player. I would have an issue with it then!

Agree2 Disagree6

18 Jun 2016 11:50:31
Ed, do other clubs tap up at all and we're just stupid enough to get caught or what? I just can't believe how easy it would happen, yet other clubs don't do it!

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - Some clubs do bot the vast majority don't.}

17 Jun 2016 13:26:30
Ed, any truth in the rumours going around of LFC Kovacic interest?

Cheers.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

18 Jun 2016 04:09:23
Wish this is true. Would be nice to see him here.

Hope this doesn't turn up into another Arda Turan like chase on the site.

18 Jun 2016 10:10:55
Can't see it myself. If we're after Zielinski there's be no point? Surely a spoiler would be more what we need?

Hi eds, I know a while back you mentioned that Ben Chigwell was almost done, is there any advancement in the deal or is it stalling because we are waiting to see the severity of his injury?

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I don't recall saying "almost done". Liverpool are indeed interested and the player is injured right now. There is no rush.}

17 Jun 2016 13:35:55
I remember you saying it's all but done.

Agree1 Disagree7

{Ed001's Note - no he did not, you might want to go back and read what was actually said. Ed002 informed us that another club had turned their interest elsewhere as they believed he was set for Liverpool.}

17 Jun 2016 13:58:32
I'm concerned that the Ben Chigwell deal may be held up by his money grabbing agent, Joey Essex.

Agree6 Disagree8

17 Jun 2016 18:03:19
It's Chilwell.

Agree5 Disagree6

18 Jun 2016 06:47:23
Looks like we will miss out on Ben chingwell as well as the mysterious enigma which was ken aguero.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - gutted about that. We can't keep missing out on these world class talents and let the likes of Man City pick up their lesser talented brethren.....}

17 Jun 2016 13:04:50
Ed, any truth in the rumour that Ings might be going out on loan? If so do you know which clubs, if any, have an interest?

Believable0 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plan Liverpool have to loan Ings out.}

17 Jun 2016 14:00:42
That would be a stupid idea, I reckon Ings can play a key role under Klopp provided he can get match fit quickly.

Agree8 Disagree6

17 Jun 2016 18:39:18
Really hope Ings isn't sent out on loan, was really looking forward to him to be fit and firing in the new season.

Agree4 Disagree5

18 Jun 2016 11:56:29
I'm excited for Ings to return, he'll suit the high pressing system and knows where the goal is.

Hi Ed's

Thanks for the great site. Have Liverpool shown any interest in Robbie Brady? I live in Norwich and a rumour going round the city is Brady to Liverpool for about £10m.

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool Alex but there is interest from others as I said.}

17 Jun 2016 11:50:27
Would be fantastic signing.

Agree4 Disagree23

17 Jun 2016 13:31:57
No he wouldn`t be, in my opinion KOB. We can do much better than him, surely.

Agree8 Disagree6

17 Jun 2016 13:36:16
As an Irishman, I love Brady. He's good on the ball, solid defensively and has an excellent delivery both from open play and set pieces. However, sadly I don't think he's Liverpool quality and there's no point hindering a young players growth for someone who would be a squad player at most.

Agree8 Disagree6

17 Jun 2016 18:24:16
Also played for them who won't be named lol.

Agree3 Disagree5

17 Jun 2016 20:54:57
I would be disappointed if we went for Brady, we want to get in the Champions League not the Championship. Not better than we already have by a long way.

17 Jun 2016 11:23:45
Hi Ed's

Thanks for a great site. Living in Norwich and one of the rumours going round is Liverpool are interested in Robbie Brady for left back with a fee of about £11m being mooted.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Alex. Certainly Robbie Brady has been in the thoughts of Leicester as a player they are considering bring in as their first choice target is attracting a lot of attention from other sides. Agains, Sunderland have also taken a look at Brady - very much for the same reason as Leicester - their first choice is looking tough to get. West Brom would be one club who I would think will look to getting a bid on the table very soon.}

17 Jun 2016 18:26:56
Whats your opinion on Brady ed, if you have the time.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - average. No positional sense whatsoever but does have a decent delivery, lower end of Prem team is his level at best.}

17 Jun 2016 19:42:16
In fairness Ed, he's not a full back he's a striker turned winger and somewhere along the way got put a full back so I wouldn't expect him to have any positional sense, but your spot on he's not top end premier league material, although he's tops for the boys in green, hopeful ireland fan for tomorrow.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - he is not good enough in any of those positions.}

17 Jun 2016 20:22:45
Thanks for the reply ed and the one above ^^.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

17 Jun 2016 20:55:59
£11m for Brady? The world has gone mad.

17 Jun 2016 10:29:01
Hi Ed's,

Portion of French media suggesting Benjamin Mendy is delaying a move to Monaco to await Liverpool and West Ham following up interest. Do/ did LFC hold an interest at all?

Thanks as always

A-P.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Marseille's Benjamin Mendy has been subject to an accepted bid from Monaco with interest of Roma put aside during negotiations. Marseille are keen to close out the transfer with Monaco and expect that to happen next week. The West Ham interest is in Nice's defensive midfield player Nampalys Mendy who is subject to an offer from Leicester that should go through. Liverpool does not feature in any of this.}

17 Jun 2016 14:35:48
Appreciate the response Ed, Thank you. Have a great weekend.

17 Jun 2016 07:52:05
Good morning Eds and reds.
A month ago, there was a discussion
about Embolo supposedly coming to Liverpool.
Today papers write that Manchester United leading the race and are desperate to buy him and they made
£28 million bid.
Are you aware for any interest from Liverpool?
Thanks in advance.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool looked at him earlier in the season (as did many other clubs) but it never went any further than that.}

17 Jun 2016 10:08:52
Thank you very much Ed002, have a nice week end.

Agree2 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Gus - I shall be in Berlin over the weekend.}

17 Jun 2016 10:55:52
Nice, I will be in a Greek island.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Enjoy your time there Gus.}

17 Jun 2016 11:22:34
I'll be on the west coast of Ireland sheltering from the rain in a campervan.

17 Jun 2016 16:15:28
Are you going to try get into Berghain Ed002?

Agree2 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what that is, but I don't need to "try" and get in anywhere.}

17 Jun 2016 16:20:23
Berghain is a club in Berlin reknown for being hard to get in past the bouncers. This may be one place in the world where they may not let you in Ed002.

Agree2 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Sounds like a challenge but I won't have the time Taurus.}

17 Jun 2016 16:31:50
Haha I totally agree. One night there will result in coming home at 7am and spending the next in bed. Safe travels to Berlin though Ed002.

I hope for your sake Graham Norton doesn't show up with a guitar and a couple of friends, but then again while it's passing rain you could try and explain to dougoul why a toy cow is small and a real cow outside is far away

😂.

{Ed007's Note - That with the cows is still one of the funniest things I've seen (rofl) Father Ted is a classic show.}
