So we are in talks to sign Alisson. What did I tell yous that it is likely a knew GK will arrive, If it happens it happens, if it doesn't so be it.

Think the Brasilia presence at LFC might just give us the upper hand. Who knows what is going to happen :-)

I can't understand the logic in the Alisson bid. I know people have their opinions, but I've watched a fair bit of Kasper schmichael over the past few yrs, and in my opinion he has fewer bad games than any other keeper in the league barring De Gea. But, the main thing is that he seems to thrive on pressure and the big stage in exactly the type of games we want ourselves involved in. Whereas the only evidence we have of Alisson performing in big games is a nothing display against Liverpool and some pretty poor ones in Russia.

Is right max, but to be honest mate when you lose one of your top three keepers in Migs (who will leave) there is a really big possibility that there will be a new one coming in. i think Alisson will sign personally. To much smoke on this one mate👍.

Kasper is overrated, makes loads of mistakes and was dropped by Leicester towards the end of the season. He is a good organiser like his dad and decent shot stopper but he’s been mistake riddled for most of his career.

Dean the other keepers would be fighting for the no1 spot. It would be an up hill battle but that is what it is. If they end up being better than alisson then they would be no1. Or maybe ward has told klopp he wants out? We aren't to know. If you want to win things you need the best players you can get. If the club has the money to spend then I'm all for it. Shaqiri on the cheap may have reopened the door for this to happen while still having money left for a no10.

Sorry Ed001. I get quite a few hits when I search for Alisson. so I have tried to RTFP. Can I ask (although i am sure others have already. sorry), what is your view on Alisson? Is he a step up from Karius/ Ward, could he be the answer? Would there be someone else you would prefer?

Players lie, managers lie. It happens all the time. Football is a massive business and at the top it is ruthless.
Players know they are in competition with their peers and are handsomely rewarded for it.

Allison and Fekir and we will win the league. Allison has the same auora about him as VVD on the pitch. And the calmness of Fiker mixed with the rest of the team/ squad we will be so strong all over the pitch. If this comes of I will never of seen a window like it and I'm 44. I'm a Believer YNWA.

Very interesting this one isn't it Ed1 mate, I just hope it's not one of them what drags out for ages and then it never happens lol I'd love to see him sign after the season he had last year it really is an exciting bit of news! At least the club are trying to bring in one of the best out there, that's enough for me whether it happens or not, it's good to know we're trying for him. Fingers crossed!

My minds going into overdrive now but imagine if we signed both Alisson and Fekir? lol that'd without a doubt make this transfer window probably one of the best in years! exciting times, even if we get one of them I'll be delighted.

Sources close to Liverpool have told Sky Sports News that there has been NO bid and NO approach for Alisson.

The key thing with all of these "reports" is the terminology.

"sources close to Liverpool" told Sky Sports they have not bid for Alisson.


Sky Italia reported:

"Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia is reporting that Alisson is “close” to a move to Merseyside.

Il Messaggero reported this morning that the Liverpool offer would be €60m plus €10m in bonuses, with Sky's Fabrizio Romano confirming a total €70m offer. "

Nothing is direct from Liverpool here.

So let's just wait and see.

there are plenty of journos close to lfc that haven't rubbished it but posted it themselves. bbc are pretty reliable and don't publish unfounded rumours. i imagine with courtois close to RM. lfc have finally made a move with roma realising LFC won't pay 75m. RM not interested. Alison prob not interested in europa.

This story will drag on a while methinks. Personally, I don’t think we’ve bid. If we were to move for a number one, he would be the best choice but that’s purely basing it on what most people say here. That he is spectacular. I only saw him in Cl and World Cup but that’s hardly enough to make an educated decision.

I wouldn't take the BBC's word as gospel they've often been wrong. There are more reliable people who have said the bid has been placed so I believe it has been.

Sounds like Alisson to Liverpool might actually happen. Di Marzio now reporting it and he's very reliable when it comes to serie A transfers.

On a side note, would be nice if we got Alisson and Madrid got Courtois off of Chelsea.

I know the Ed's hate a social media rumour, but out of nowhere Alissons agent just liked an Instagram post of him photoshopped into a Liverpool shirt. I know Ed's said there are difficulties with the alisson deal and it is unlikely, maybe the agent trying to gather more interest? It looks like the agent is short of a few quid or has bills to pay because the desperation it embarrassing. It makes you wonder what his club think of it or would they need to approve or at least give a nod to tactics like this?

It's obvious that we need a new keeper, but the more I read about Alisson and the more I have seen him play, I'm less convinced that he's the right one for us. Wasn't great in the 2 games against us or in the World Cup, then reading that he would prefer Madrid and then that he would prefer to stay in London doesn't fill me with confidence. I hope that this is all paper talk and hope Klopp sorts out the GK situation this summer to enable us to push for the title this season.

I think RM are spot on- at £60m plus after one good season, Alisson is very poor value.
This may be a case of an overhyped player gaining a perceived value that is way beyond his actual ability, and the whole world just assuming that the hype must all be correct.
The half dozen games I've seen him play have shown nothing that Karius doesn't have- except maybe he makes fewer critical errors, and he does seem to generate more confidence in the defenders ahead of him.
If money was no object we would all agree that he is well worth a punt, but LFC are seemingly close to their FFP spending limit, and buying Alisson will surely limit some other options.
One can only hope they also get a new GK coach, before Achterberg works his magic on whichever new keeper we sign.
