High I don't think Reina will leave, as Barca are apparently looking at Ter Stergen

Bergkamp5353 {Ed002's Note - Barcelona has not shown interest in Reina, Atletico has.}

Pepe will join Atletico, its his dream to follow in his fathers footsteps.

Pepe will join Atletico, its his dream to follow in his fathers footsteps.

It would be a very good move for him, but we should be looking at a price of around £15M or a swap with Turan.

Fathers footsteps is Barcelona {Ed001's Note - his dad played for Atletico as well.}

Does arsenal retain ann interest in reina still 02? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Arsenal.}

i think victor valdes will either opt stay at barca or join ac milan with abbiati retireing that means barca will move for Reina and rodgers wont't stand in his way as replacement think mark ter stagen would be perfect and their is few germans already at pool or ali ahamada that plays for toulouse he looks quality goalkeeper but maybe to much of risk or micheal vorm rodgers has worked with him at swansea and does rate him what do you think ed {Ed002's Note - Barcelona plan to complete the signing of ter Stegen in the summer after being knocked back on two bids for Courtois.}

Where is it that Courtois will end up then Ed? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would like to keep him.}

17 Feb 2013 23:47:12
Where do you believe neuer is most likely to go now if he does leave bayern? {Ed002's Note - It looks like he will stay in Bayern now.}

Forster from Celtic

Hi Ed's Is is true that FSG want to sell LFC. They have been looking for a buyer since the back end of 2011? Mike Jefferies who put that video together to get rid of Hicks and Gillett and lives in America says he knows {Ed002's Note - A subject for Wednesday, not today.}

17 Feb 2013 22:25:26
Y wednsday ed002
Basy {Ed002's Note - For the obvious reason.}

Why Wednesday? {Ed002's Note - There is no secret message.}

Why for Wednesday? {Ed002's Note - Because it is convenient.}

It a date then ed, should we say 18:00 GMT
Andrew

Roll on Wednesday Then.

I firmly believe we will have new owners by the start of next season. lm purely. Speculating her but I think we will soon be in Arab hands.

We get owned by a Mega rich Arab owner, we win the title next season. Its as simple as that!. We just don't had the financial muscle to compete with any of the top 6 teams frankly speaking. I want an owner who can guarantee us about 25-40M EVERY freaking window. Rodgers knows the players he wants. These FSG guys are not as rich as we make them out to be. PS to Ed's and other people, having ultra rich owners does not mean that we will spend heavily but atleast it means that we can spend money in a few quality signings as well as the bargain buys we buy.

Anyone who wants new owners needs to be careful what they wish for.

Mrpjd

If it is true. GOOD NEWS! OUT FSG!

-warhead

With any luck we will have better owners not impressed with fsg

No Seriously why Wednesday.? Confused. com

Ed why do you do it to yourself lol :)
You will have everyone including me asking about wednesday.
Eam

Something is going on behind the scenes that were not aware of, but wouldn't be at all surprised. To see. Us under new. Ownership. Once again.

Agree with what the other poster says: be careful what you wish for. Could be very unsettling and set the club back rather than move them forward. The owners, like the manager, need time to stabilise and re-establish the club - new owners will not be conducive to this process.

SMc

Pumped in millions, listened to the fans, the fans got the manager they wanted who promptly wasted the millions. yeh let's hope the owners get totally fed up and sell us to some no mark arab owners who don't give 2 hoots what the fans think. that's the answer. short term gain. really do beggar belier LFC fans sometimes.

Pumped in millions? They got the club on the cheap, to the point H&G took them through the courts.

Spent only what has been made from players sales (Torres and Babel went for £60mil in their first window)

We get a load of the TV rights share we're always on Sky or ESPN, when its the FA cup we're on ITV, always in Europe. Hell, even our preseason games are on TV.

Add the biggest Kit and shirt sponser deal in EPL history and then some {Ed001's Note - and who covered the massive losses the club was making? Who covered the bill for paying up contracts from all the players let go? Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about.}

If Rich Arabs take over soon we will keep hold of Suarez and buy Cavani 30m, Eriksen 17m, Sanchez 18m, Sahko 10m, Williams 12m, Isco 25m, Begovic 14m. 130m spent THIS SUMMER! Now who would not want that? {Ed001's Note - what a crock of ****!}

Fsg for the future hope they don't sell

Announcement on Wednesday is it eds!

Everyone but Williams

What a lot of crap. Very few of those players would come without cl football. Lol FIFA fever me thinks

To the guy who wants Arab owners and wants £130m for a summer spree. how much will that fantasy list cost you in terms of wages and other payments? In case you haven't heard there is the little matter of FFP regulations heading this way which just might have an impact on your wishlist.

Instead of just firing off names that you've heard only about on here why not show a little bit of loyalty to the owners who saved the club from administration?

Is it summet to do with the plans for the stadium?

Some comments saying that the fact the owners are spending the TV. Money and kit money we get means nothing is stupid! We are not the only club to get them, look at those over the park, they might not get as much but they still get TV rights and a decent wedge from Nike for their kit deals, they don't see a single penny of it!

The owners have done vertually everything right. How many other owners would have got that 50mil for Torres and just pocketed it all? They have given a lot of money to the managers to spend, its not their fault the manager have spent it on crap! Is that not what everyone wants, the MANAGERS to make the signings not the owners? that's how it should be done, look at owners who have made signings that they want (Abromovich and Shevchenko). What exactly have they done wrong? Listened to the fans to get KD back, then when he messed up the transfers and was only brought in to steady the ship, they got a bright new up and coming manager to hopefully provide stability for the foreseeable future, rather than follow other clubs and plan for here and now, with a manager change every 6 months!

Eds,

Why is it a Subject for Wednesday, what are you expecting to happen. {Ed002's Note - It has all been dealt with yesterday.}

Everyone has to stop kidding themselves that some mega rich owner is going to step in and buy the club. Remember the DIC rumours, and the rumours of the Chinese government backed owners?
If it was going to happen, it would have done so by now.
We need to accept that we have to build long-term, getting into the top 4 is the immediate priority and build from there

Hi Eds. Just a quickie if you have the time. Falcao, Cavani, Neymar - the 3 strikers supposedly ready for a big £40m+ move soon. Are any really likely to move in the summer? Falcao/Chelsea as good as done? Neymar to Spain finally? Cavani to PSG? Any clues would be great ta. {Ed002's Note - There is interest in these players and Falcao will likely move. Chelsea and Bayern Muich are keen on Falcao. Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea have an interest in Cavani. Higuain is most likely to head to PSG. Neymar interests Barcelona but a move this year seems unlikely.}

Hi ed. Are bayern targeting bale suarez and falcoa. Would they not cost somewhere in the region of 150-160m {Ed002's Note - They have several other targets as well. And a budget of 278M euros - they won't get everyone of course - nor spend all of that money.}

Cavani to Liverpool playing in europa league now {Ed002's Note - I had forgotten - the Uruguay FA will be buying Cavani for Liverpool.}

17 Feb 2013 20:10:55
Ed do you think we will try and sign a striker in the summer?
Please reply and give your opinion, thanks! {Ed002's Note - It will not be a priority and it will depends on others coming and going.}

Based on everyone expecting Suarez to leave in order to get champions league football, I would expect us to go into the market for a striker with money to spend.
It's still possible that FSG could change manager before next season, sell Suarez for a healthy profit and replace him with Andy Carroll whose lone spell will be over. This way they could recoup some of their out lay.
Now we have sturridge, Carroll might work out better. I'm not sure but there must be a chance they have played for England together in the past and hopefully will do again in the future

Hi Eds, Not sure where this story about Eminike is coming from, but hiope its a hoax. We really need a prolific goalscorer - someone like Jackson Martinez or Welliton - or both! We also need to make vast improvements in central defence. I'm sure that between Coates, Wisdom and Kelly we can find a fantastic pairing for the future. If Reina is to go in the summer, then Curtois would be the perfect replacement. Do you think though that we would benefit from having past masters helping out with coaching certain attributes of our game - for instance, why don't we have Ian Rush in coaching the forwards - Clem or Brucie in to coach the keepers - what about Phil Thompson in as defensive coach? I think we'd improve greatly. What do you think?

{Ed002's Note - There was talk of Emenike and Panathinaikos interest a while back. I am not aware of any confirmed interest from Liverpool at this time, although there are of course rumours that he is being "lined up" as a replacement for Suarez. Jackson Martinez only recently moved to Porto but they are prepared to cash in on him with interest from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona. Porto will seek his full release clause of 40M euro but would likely need to settle for less. Welliton has gone on loan to Gremio and will not be joining Liverpool. Two offers for Courtois from Barcelona have been rejected - he also won't be joining Liverpool. I would expect Coates to leave at the first opportunity.}

And to think we were looking at j martinez for 6m before he moved to porto

17 Feb 2013 19:10:42
How long is coutinhos contract? {Ed002's Note - Until 2018.}

17 Feb 2013 18:43:35
Hi ed's do Liverpool have any interest in Jackson martinez or James Rodriguez. {Ed002's Note - None.}

17 Feb 2013 17:49:45
Brendan Rodgers plans to sell 30-year-old goalkeeper Pepe Reina, centre-back Martin Skrtel, 28, left-back Jose Enrique, 27, winger Stewart Downing, 28, and midfielder Jordan Henderson, 22, in the summer.

Daily mirror is his source.

BR, will soon sell the tea lady as well. BR is not make for Lpool. He is failure and will fail badly.

i can't see my pool been misused by some ameuter manager.

If Rodgers goes for the likes of Howedes to replace Skrtel, Coutinho to replace Downing and Erikson to play through the centre. Mvila or Strootman for defensive midfield and a good goalkeeper like Vorm then those players could be replaced quite seamlessly. The only one hard to replace is Enrique because there are very few good left backs in world football, i've always liked Balzaretti but he's 31. If Rodgers signs players like Ashley Williams and Tom Ince then the writing is on the wall as far as next season is concerned. {Ed002's Note - None of that is going to happen.}

Henderson's too young to be sold. He's not in FSG's 'pensioned off' age range for another 5 years.

Enrique: we need LB COVER not a replacement

Henderson: no way

downing: if we can upgrade then yes

carrol: yes - sturridge was his replacement

skrtel: same as downing

reina: risky move

Luke Shaw - LB

Lol I pull my hair everytime someone mentions christian eriksen, and call him erikson, the danes have a rivslry going on whit the swedish, and basicly erikson is what he would have been named had he been swedish, please pls please don't spell he's name wrong, for once in a long time we actualy have talent in denmark, i'd hate for people to think he was swedish.

You guys honestly think brendan isn't doing a good job, i'm honestly seeing improvement everytime we play, and I can't realy blame him for the mistakes we have made, i'm surpriced some people are so fast to whrite him off, I feel like its become ynwa as long as we like you, wich is just wrong have some faith ffs.

I bet he isn't.

LeTrench

We have one of the smallest squads in the prem. we need tobuy before we even think of letting anyone go.

Liverpool have targeted Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, 31, after being priced out of a deal for Stoke's £15m-rated shot-stopper Asmir Begovic, 25.

Do you even watch Wigan played?

Why would Liverpool want to sell Reina to get older and worse goalkeeper? Msakes no sense to me.

17 Feb 2013 20:05:03
Brilliant so Pepe out and Al Habsi in, really? Sounds like a great deal in planet mental.

It's Alonso - Barry all over again.

It's a copy and paste from the tv gossip page.

17 Feb 2013 17:35:47
Hey Ed,
Do you know of any buy-out clause in Moussa Sissoko's Newcastle contract? Secondly do you think we may be interested in a summer move for Diame? Because something we significantly lack is raw power and pace in the midfield. Our team gets pushed aside and r***d against physically stronger opponents.

For those of you who will wine about already having enough midfielders, its called having strength in depth, something the likes of United and City have and not Liverpool. Gerrard is close to the end of his career, Hendo, Shelvey and Allen are just not good enough.

If we can bring in a powerhouse midfielder and an explosive winger to replace Downing, such as Ben Arfa, we will be a force to be reckoned with next season.

Give me your opinions.

Regards Dave. {Ed002's Note - Sissokho will not be moving to Liverpool in the summer. Liverpool has shown no interest in Diame.}

How many times!, why would sissoko come to Liverpool when he has about 6-7 french m8s in that Newcastle squad, hence the reason he choose to go there no matter how low the fee was, some people just can't seem to put 2 and 2 together,

17 Feb 2013 17:06:04
hi eds just like to say i'm in love with this site and because you love me can you tell me who are summer targets are and how likely they are to move to us. {Ed001's Note - it's February, a lot will depend on how we get on between now and the end of the season, so no, I can't, sorry.}

17 Feb 2013 14:08:47
Eds,

Is there any truth in Liverpool links with Mignolet of Sunderland? Seems to me to be a viable option as he appears to be a pretty special keeper. Any thoughts?

Cheers
hutchy {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Liverpool have made no approach for mignolet. Arsenal have.

17 Feb 2013 13:03:36
ed with de gea playing well could this make man united not move for begovic and are Liverpool interested or we looking elsewhere thanks {Ed002's Note - I heard De Gea had a decent game the other night. Right now I do not see Begovic moving to Liverpool.}

17 Feb 2013 13:11:01
Our NO. 10 STARTS!!!
Redmanluka

17 Feb 2013 12:20:31
Mirror Football reporting we have been offered Lucas Biglia for 4.5mil. Any truth in this? {Ed002's Note - Not offered but available. Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he will move in the summer with interest from Napoli, Fiorentina, Southampton, Wolfsburg, AC Milan and Arsenal. There may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned; lately his desire is to move to Italy. Anderlecht have found a replacement already. There is every chance he might interest a club like Liverpool, but there is nothing right now.}

I heard chelsea want him. have you heard anthing ed? {Ed002's Note - You have what I know on the matter there. There is no interest from Cheslea.}

Eds would a work permit be hard to get for him? Or is he a Belgian citizen now? {Ed002's Note - He has an Italian passport - hence his desire is to move to Italy.}

If Saints are interested in him, then you had better forget him at Liverpool!

17 Feb 2013 10:54:25
Eds is it true we've shown interest in and watched Pastore? He fits the profile and everything, but would his wages demands place him out of our reach? I'd be made up with this. {Ed002's Note - No it is not true - sounds like Twitter.}

17 Feb 2013 10:17:53
I don't know why I'm posting this, might even get a lot of hate, but here goes. Eds, have we looked at bringing in nasri? I know his wages are way beyond us, but he's a cracking young lad who is just 25 years old!

Ratan. {Ed002's Note - I suspect Nasri will be moving in the summer, but not to Liverpool.}

Wouldn't want him, he's a primadonna who couldn't care less as long as he gets his wages

Nasri would be brilliant!

17 Feb 2013 00:52:39
Hi Eds,

Reading that Ince Snr will be named Blackpool boss. Will that pretty much put an end to our flirtation Ince Jnr?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

HE himself would love to see his son at the top, right?
Since Liverpool is the closest thing to the top for his son, why should he stop his sons career for himself?

Judging by Ince's managerial record I doubt he'll still be manager by the summer.
solidair

Wouldn't worry - he won't last beyond next season as manager anyway!
