Ed2 do you know if we are interested in any south American players that are playing over there, or players we are scouting over there?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Right now there is still a lot of interest from European sides in South American youngsters with one English side having third party ownership of a number of youngsters and another three English sides looking to pay retainers to clubs in order to have future options on players. But in most cases the edge will always go to the Portuguese, Spanish and Italian sides as it is easier to settle and culturally similar. The lower tier players generally get vacuumed up by the Japanese, Australian and Asian leagues. It is not a market that Liverpool are pushing in - but they do have representation at tournaments.}

Not exactly scouting in South America, but Liverpool picked up Allan after being impressed with him from the Frenz United tournament in Asia where Liverpool and his previous club, Internacional were in the same group.

Is third party ownership not banned for English clubs? Or does the player have to be playing for the English club for it to be an offence?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Has to be playing in England. As an aside, it is banned in nearly all European countries now.}

Eds random question re Lucas of PSG. I know you love questions about random players!
What ever happened to this lad? Seemed to have the world at his feet.
Have lfc ever looked at him and would he be available at a decent price?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has happened with him - he plays pretty regularly for PSG. He struggled for a while to settle in Europe and a while back a loan to Sao Paulo was considered. Liverpool has never shown an interest.}

Cheers ed. was always one I tried to buy on FM/FIFA haha.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know anything about kiddies games, sorry.}

Hi Ed002,

first of all thank you for your answer the other day, it was very good and more of an answer than i hoped for so a big thank's

i asked you about if we would get good German players because of klopp being our manager, i sis not mean him going back to Dortmund for player's i meant players that are unknown to many of us from other club's in Germany as i've noticed when manager's from other country's come to England they sign player's who most of us have never heard of and they turn out to be very good if you know what I mean, look at Memphis Depay i think he signed for Man Utd because of the manager or the manager was one of the major factor's, i really hope Klopp has a player up his sleeve who is an relativley (sorry about my spelling ) unknown talent to most outside Germany also i seen a football show where we have a good following in germany because of the German player's that used to play for us, like Markus Babbel and Karl Heinz Reideler, what a striker he was for us but because of these and other german player's we do have a fan base,

Once again Ed002 thank you very much for you're answer and i will hope and wait to see if Klopp pull one from the hat and he is a success i understand better about our finances or lack of them and the debt we are in but it really do believe Klopp will bring success to our club and we will win throphies with him and hopefully he will bring the big one back home for the 1st time, i don't want to play fantasy football manager so that's why i have not mentioned any name's plus i have not watched much German football so don't have a clue about who is top class and who is not except for the obvious one's,

sorry about the long post Ed002.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Memphis Depay may not have been well known to you but a number of clubs had been looking at him for some time with Manchester United being interested before van Gaal arrived. You need to remember that most of the work is done by the scouting system - obviously with the input of the manager on occasion. Certainly Klipperty will ask scouts to look at certain players he has an interest in and these may well include players they have not considered before. A quick glance at Klopp's transfer history at Dortmund shows a little over half of the players the club purchased in that time were German-based and many were from the second division. I would not read too much in to that. One thing is for sure, the club will not be buying German players because of the fan base - it will be because they can (hopefully) improve the squad. As I have said, there are certainly a couple of German based players Liverpool have looked at.}

Based on history the type of players klopp want is regardless of nationality. Like kagawa and abumenyang. Who knows he might actually sign a korean player and that will be first for liverpool. All i can say is it will not be star names that has been thrown about simply because signing ready made stars is not klopp style.

Nice one ed002 for the answer, i've re-read the questions and your answers and i did a bit of reflecting of both and it dawned on me that one thing stood out and that was hope and anticipation about our future under Klopp and what we can achieve, the hope is there its hope because nothing is guaranteed, all this had gone under BR we had no hope or i never, even when we finished 2nd with the prem title in our own hands i never once felt that we would win it because BR never had the tactics on the run in to get us over the line, we lost hendo and that turned out to be a maybe it was the difference of winning it and coming 2nd i don't know but BR should have known and had the tactics in those last games, under klopp if we are in the same position with 3 or 4 games to go i feel we will have a better chance and hope that we could win it that's the difference between JK and BR a player like suarez helped a lot as well lol, so if klopp gets a player like suarez then our chance of winning the prem will treble

anyway Ed002 thanks for your answers.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Good morning Ed002

Good info as usual mate regarding possible transfer targets and the fact we need to be realistic in January. You have said Subotic might be an option, is this based on the fact he isn't first choice atm and his time left on current contract or has Klopp expressed an interest?

Also who do you see as possible players leaving in January? Allen?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Klopp has said he will not go back to Dortmund for players, but Subotic is a player they are willing to sell - so there is a chance Liverpool might be interested. I am not aware of plans to sell players in January at this time. Clearly Enrique will be adding nothing this season but if he were to leave he would need to be replaced - so it makes little sense in January when there is far less choice.}

Ed002 i just don't get the whole enrique fiasco. He started off quite well for us and looked like a decent buy then i know he struggled with some injuries but then all of a sudden took up photography what's all that about? i saw himat the bournmouth game and he just ignored all of the kids waiting for signatures where everyone else stopped.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything in particular that has happened, but he certainly does not seem to be in any plans the club has.}

16 Nov 2015 15:13:13
Ed. may I ask why Enrique would need to be replaced within the squad if he is not anywhere near a option.
Moreno gets injured would it not be better to bring through a youth player rather than a non interested Enrique?
Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The reason would likely be that he is second choice left back with Gomez out. That is why he will likely stay until the summer.}

16 Nov 2015 18:16:22
Eds when you say he is second choice left back if while Gomez is out, do you actually believe that of Moreno did get injured, Enrique would start?
Imo he still wouldn't start. That is why I ask.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Who would you expect to play there then?}

16 Nov 2015 19:22:31
No youngsters good enough yet to come in and play for us?
Thanks for the updates đź‘Ť.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any other fit left backs in the first team squad.}

17 Nov 2015 16:11:05
Ed002 would Clyne be moved to left back if moreno got injured before Enrique because didn't Clyne play at left back the other week, but i believe that Enrique should earn his wages instead of taking photos but i think he would play a couple of games then get injured, so he will be back to taking selfies while picking up his wages, his wages could be used on someone else who would actually play for us instead of being injured all the time, the life of a footballer is a great one in them regards,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Contrary to popular belief I don't pick the team.}

17 Nov 2015 16:59:49
Least some of you be under some sort of illusion, 'realistic' in our case means we are not buying until we have sold- transfer moneyis to come from sales.

And before you think that will be easy, just remeber - we have to find buyers and then the player is only worth what they are willing to pay.

In reality, just to get a ÂŁ20M player, we are not only going to have to sell first, but take a quite significant loss in some cases.

As generoous as FSG have been to date (and they have - ridiculously so, they do not have a magic money tree.

Hi Ed 02, I know you may not want to speculate at this time of m year but if there anything new to add on Gundogan after he signed that contract extension. I did usedbthe search bottom but they seemed to be from the past. Any major update would be highly appreciated. Do you think Klopp will be able to attract him even though we do not need him actually?

Cheers!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Gundogan was refusing to agree a new deal and Dortmund were willing to let him leave this past summer as he was seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self. Clubs were interested, including Manchester United and Manchester City, but an approach about his availability was responded to that a three year extension has been agreed between the club and player and details are being finalised. However, he then again refused to sign the contract and all he was prepared to do was to sign an extension until 2017. Dortmund are pretty much done with him - he was expected to leave this past summer and they had already a replacement in place. Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have all been interested to some extent or other. Barcelona may still be interested but they are certainly not pushing right now. Manchester City and Arsenal walked away over concerns about sustained fitness and form against price - they will likely see the risk as still too high. Manchester United may continue to show interest but will only bite at the right price - and the player may have reservations about opportunities at Old Trafford. Cannot be discounted. Bayern Munich failed with an offer of Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan in the summer - and a second one including Højbjerg as part of the deal. Dortmund would rather not sell to Bayern. Klopp has said that he will not return to Dortmund to buy players - maybe he is lying - I don't know. If he is to move soon then Juventus and, possibly, Barcelona seems the most viable destination.}

Gundogan? Please do not hold your breath as Eds will say.
