Posted approx. 2 weeks ago that around £350,000 per week in wages would be freed up with a whole array of the older players to leave; Cole, Maxi, Poulsen, Kuyt etc. expect for the remainder of the season in the Europa League and some of the lesser EPL games, for the youngsters in the Youth and Reserve team to get more chances to prove themselves before next season.
Kenny Dalglish will give these boys a chance before the summer window opens to see if he will need to go out and get squad members or first team players. With Suso, Pacheco, Shelvey, Coady, Ayala and Sterling, next year becoming squad players, expect Kenny to go out and buy 2-3 more big names to improve the quality of the First XI.
Personally I expect a CB (Gary Cahill - 15-18mil), a LW (Arda Turan - 13mil) and that will be it for first XI signings. The rest will be squad players; Marveaux (free), Gervinho (12mil) and maybe Charlie Adam though I hope not (Give the reserves the opportunity).
The rest of the outgoings that haven't been replaced by signings, will be replaced by the youngsters who being brought up in the Liverpool system, under the eye of Kenny Dalglish will be moulded to his style of play and be able to change formation styles.
Next season I expect either the famous Dutch formation (4-5-1) with 2 advanced wingers or the more current formation 3-5-2 with the two wing-backs. Whatever formation it is, it's going to be, the 2011/ 12 season is going to be very exciting for the fans!

Kjaer and hazard are coming to lfc KK is working hard to bring very good players to liverpool, Hazard himself said he can not rule out a move to liverpool. looks like comolli is working wonders in france. your take ed on hazard please.

Its the club of Eden Hazard who draw the speculation. They have said they want X amount and they name all the top clubs in Europe so they can't start a bidding war same with Lukaku he has been linked with nearly every club in the top 4 of every European League.
Guillem Balague actually said it was doubtful about Maxi coming to Liverpool because Rafa had no interes. It was Athletico Madrid who contacted Liverpool about Maxi offering him a free player and Rafa Benitez took the option. Benitez openly stated in years before that we never had any interest in Maxi, i think it was in 2006-2007 when he was at his peak.

Yeah but the point is he still made a mistake in doubting it as we did sign him and I used his name not to discredit him but to say things can change. Another example is you have made up your mind to go to the movies and tell your friends but you change your mind on the day. Your friends could have told someone about you going to the movies but then you don't go in the end. It doesn't make your friends liars but it shows that not everything is set in stone. All I'm saying is that the Ed's sources are getting the feedback that Hazard is not interested now but that could change in a few months.

Liverpool want proven aswell as young players. We will not buy 2 unproven wingers maybe 1 proven and a up and coming. I think Sterling and Suso will prove better players.

I posted earlier on the rumours page that Guillem Balague had said on Revista La Liga, that Real Madrid had lined up a replacement for Alonso. Did anyone else see it? If it's true were is Xabi going? Ed did you see it mate? I know how you feel about Guillem, but most of the time he talks sense.

Just that I know we negotiated for this player in Dec and we will do so again this summer.
I am not saying he will definitely sign for us but I do know we are in for him.

Of course different eds different views, facts, opinions. Does the specific ed have sound information or is he/ she expressing personal opinion? {ed's note - he has very good sources in French football which is why I believe him to be expressing knowledge they have given him.}

Hazard is possible. He can't be ruled out as we are all human beings with our minds subject to change. Hazard can change his mind if he is not currently interested. And finally sources can be proven wrong as Balague has been because he had said maxi would not be moving to us early within the January transfer window of last year and had to backtrack on his statement like 3 days before the move was completed.

Not Facts, Just Opininons based on Recent Rumours. . . . . .
I have to agree with the Editors. I think we will not sign Eden Hazard. The amount of people who jump on the Hazard band wagon on here is unbelievablie. People on here hear a name and youtube it and think he is fantastic, try watching him fully like i have. He is small and lightweight and we have better potential in Raheem Sterling and Suso.
Liverpool most obvious wingers they OUR looking at are Ashley Young and Arda Turan. There more versatile and can play in different systems which Kenny Dalglish has displayed already.
A move for Charlie Adam is very likely again. With the purchase of Blaise Matuidi too as Damien Comolli rates him very highly and as made no secret of his interest.
A Centre Half will also be looked, but no names yet been linked. Micah Richards?? versatile defender can play Right Back and Centre Back and Man City did turn down a 20 million bid from Liverpool in January. Watch this one close. .
Liverpool will look at a Left Back to with Baines, Enrique and Contreao being linked although i think its high unlikely we will buy one of these as there all going to be stupid money, Jose Enrique would be the cheapest of the three. Maybe a sneaky move for Taye Taiwo, who is maybe average.
Sylvain Marveaux will be most likely our first signing, which i think willl be a useless player like Jovanovic, Voronin and Cole etc. .Dont see him fitting in anywhere and is average to say the least.
Rumours our flying high on Karim Benzema who again Damien Comolli rates. Rumours where we did make a loan offer for him with Carroll and Suarez already still coming, but Real Madrid wanted another replacement alongside Adebayour so talks were put off until the summer.
We will have to wait and see but it turns out to be exciting summer with a real genuine belief of success for next season.

Hi Eds, seems to have quietened down in here after the rather busy transfer window! ha ha
Anyway, I know it's early talk but I agree with some of the posts on here, Regarding Everton being relegated, a couple of weeks of p*ssing myself laughing then realisation of no merseyside derby's would settle in and it would lead to disappointment. I hope they stay up but could snatch a couple of their players if they did go down!
So, Eds, IF Everton were relegated, do you think their players would switch a blue shirt for red of LFC? Suppose they would sell their best talents to blue noses butt buddy red nose! Ha ha ha

Good call ed, just as you say that, its his fault for the Barca goal, not stepping up in time with the other defenders.

Ed how do you rate clishy(cant spell) because arsenal are strongly linked with jose enrique so maybe we could buy either him or gibbs but i don't think arsenal would sell gibbs {ed's note - I am not convinced by Clichy at all, he is very very weak defensively and not quite good enough offensively to make up for it
what about gibbs and do you think we could buy him {ed's note - Gibbs is very injury-prone, Wenger prefers him when fit though anyway so I doubt he would let him go.}

Ed what are the chances of us signing arda turan in the summer? i think we desperatly need a player of his quality , the good thing is that kenny likes him , he loves liverpool and galatasray are 10th i think he will be available in the summer , so i would say there is a big possibilty , i think it will be either us or athletico madrid but i think if we go in for him he won't turn us down.
also ed if these reports about gervinho are true do you think kenny would want him as a striker or winger? looks a decent player and is doing really well this season , would definatly improve the squad. {ed's note - we would get Turan if we went for him, it is that simple, he is a very big fan and would pick us over anyone else. As for Gervinho, it is about getting a player in who can be flexible, Kenny likes to be able to play more than one formation with the same players.}

There have been quite a few reports on a potential summer move for Gervinho again today.
Is there any truth is this as I for one believe he would be a quality signing, like Kuyt but much better as he scores goals from up front (11 this season so far) and can provides assists from the wing (7 assists so far).
Can you see this deal happening and do you rate him as I do.
Thanks {ed's note - he is not a player that has particularly impressed me, but we have looked at him very closely and held talks with his club in January. I can certainly see a move for him being very possible in the summer.}

Just a rumour i heard today, at work, that liverpool made a late enquiry into turan in the january transfer window but with all the comotion over torres suarez and carrol the move was put off, and instead liverpool are working on a pre contract with galatasaray for him, like i said just a rumour could just be heresay but thought id post
ps congrats to sterling getting into the squad aswell as the other young lads, can't wait to see if he gets some decent game time. thnk you kenny for finally putting faith in our youth something liverpool have missed for years.

According to a Italian paper; With Fiorantina doing so poorly, we're going to make a move for Jovetic who is currently unsettled. He was a great prospect at one point and I think he still is. Can play on the left and can beat a man. He has recently announced he has higher expectations than Fiorantina can achieve! Are they on the verge as they say or just struggling?
I would hate to see them go into administration or the like.
Only asking on behalf of a friend who is an EFC fan & is very concerned at the situation.
And ed, if you have any news on Moyes' situation within the club please share?!
Any idea if he'll walk come the summer?
Any inside info or just high probability rumours will do ed if you have any.

There definitely seems to be some major financial issues behind the scenes.
To have left one of their top players go now when they're struggling for £3m was crazy - i know his contract was nearly up but he could have been the difference between survival or not which would cost them more if relegated. They should have done a Blackpool on it i think! If they go down, i really don't think they'll be back for a while!
Think it'd be quite sad.
I know i'd prefer a derby match anytime over playing the likes of QPR.
