Heard that the Willian bid is further on than first thought, it may have already been completed!

It's a rumour - just passing it on!

Believable106 Unbelievable57

I will not believe anything till I see him smiling holding the Liverpool jersey and I urge everyone else to do the same!

Agree12 Disagree0

I hope so, don't want to hear Willian, Willian it was nothing.

Agree11 Disagree0

I will believe it when I see him at melwood with the shirt on!

Agree7 Disagree0

I would not be surprised. if this is true but then again I would off though ssn would be all over this.

Agree1 Disagree2

Anzhi will have no trouble offloading Willian. They won't panic into selling to the first bidder. We won't be the only club to have a bid accepted, and Willian will wait to assess his options. No way has a deal already been agreed by both clubs and the player.

Agree9 Disagree1

Nonsense.

Agree1 Disagree4

Hope your right pal but won't believe it till its done! Really believe we can push for top 4 if we get him.

just to add to the excitement, Willian has started following coutinho and Lucas on twitter

Agree7 Disagree0

16 Aug 2013 23:21:03
It's far from completed, just because a Brazilian follows fellow Brazilians on twitter hardly means he's signing does it? I follow LFC and it follows back I'm not signing for £35 million though am I? All the fans need to calm down we've contacted his agent but he's sure to have many other suitors and just like Mkhitaryan and Costa will probably goose against us. For now I'm more than happy supporting the players we've got against Stoke tomorrow.

Agree0 Disagree2

Normally true Honolulupool, but Kerimov is pretty desperate to offload quite a few players in a short amount of time.

He won't want any drawn transfer dealings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony Barrett Of The Times who is very reliable saying it is almost done.other source saying anzhi accepted 28m plus 5m in add ons. Hopefully its true as I am one of the few people who believe he is a cracking player who is worth the money. {Ed049's Note - Not done yet but I believe it'll be completed soon}

Agree6 Disagree0

Ed049 don't do that.

Your beeping with my heart strings.

He'll use us to get a move to a CL side, just as Costa's agent used us to get his client an improved contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Micky was also very close. I am not going to budge unless the transfer is confirmed.

Agree1 Disagree1

No mate. No.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is another bad rumour the player himself asked Liverpool to bid a few days ago no way they are even interested.
The only hope is if they drop the asking price significantly and it won't happen.

Agree0 Disagree1

Deal is rumoured to be £28m + £5m bonus if LFC qualify for CL!

Personal terms are believed to be around 100k per week contract.

As I say this is all rumours at the moment, but from a few people who have called other deals earlier than main media streams.

I think we will get him, rogers wouldn't have offloaded downing if he wasn't going all out for willian.taking the wages and fee involved it probably will be expensive

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't want Willian not t a cost of 40m euros or more. He's relly not worth that money for his goals and assists return. There's wiser wys to spend that sum out there

Agree3 Disagree2

Bobatron . Can't say I'm that familiar with Willian but as most top 4 clubs have expressed some sort of interest in him he must be a player. And great insurance should RM or another team rock up with a late 50m bid or Suarez. Failing that we'd have some or forward line and a real chance of top 4. We need to be in CL to replace Suarez adequately if he goes next summer. 25-30m would also show FSG are still prepared to invest if the deal is right.

Agree2 Disagree0

If we're going to get top 4 we need to strengthen the centrebacks not the forwards (if e're keeping suarez)

I believe one of the Ed's has already said some big clubs were put off the price given his lack of returns. Also given didn't budge on the mktiryan price of 20 million but will now offer 40 million or willian whose record doesn't even begin to compare, I'd seriously be questioning our big name spending.

hi eds, there's reports that aly cisshoko has agreed a season loan move to Liverpool with a view to buy at end, any truth in this?
thanks {Ed002's Note - It has been dragging on and is not yet complete - but likely will be today.}

Believable63 Unbelievable10

Not optimistic ed? Would like your opinion on the matter even though info is extremely limited. {Ed002's Note - I don't understand your point.}

Agree0 Disagree2

So Ed,
Finally what kind of deal has been agreed Loan or permanent?
The original source of this news (Valencia Radio) reckon its a loan deal for 1M€ and LFC will have an option to buy for a further 5M€. But there is no obligation to buy. {Ed002's Note - Putting aside the numbers it will be a loan with an option to buy.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Good signing for us in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

Flying into Liverpool today for medical.
Deal should be completed Monday.
If we get Wilhem and Sahko or Papa, excellent work done by the reds.
Suarez staying would be cherry on the top

Hi Ed's,

Is it true that we have bid, or are about to bid for Willian? And is this likely to be the replacement for Suarez?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - There has been no bid but Liverpool has spoken with his agent - so perhaps they will bid.}

Believable47 Unbelievable11

Im really shocked but very excited that were actually going for Willian considering Man Cty allegedly had a bid of £34.5M turned down a few weeks ago and his reported wage of £120K a week.

But with news breaking about Suarez training with the 1st team after he made an apology, the impending arrival of Cissokho as competition at LB for Enrique & the possibility of Willian arriving I think that will conclude our Summer and I personally feel that we are very well placed to compete for 3rd or 4th spot alongside Utd, Arsenal & Spurs as Cty & Chelsea will get 1st & 2nd as were not quite there yet.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed you said that Liverpool know how much they should pay. Does this mean the bid will be an acceptable bid? {Ed002's Note - It doesn't mean anything more than it says.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I don, t think we will get him, other clubs will at least match us financially and some can offer CL football.

Hello Eds

Can you possibly tell me if anything has changed with Turan? I read on LFC site something about Madrid listening to offers if someone meets his release clause, but this came from turkishfootball.com and I have no idea if they are reliable at all.

I think its around £20 million or just under which seems acceptable. Not saying we would get him but just wondered if we are still looking?

For me he would be the best signing. The guy is simply brilliant and would excite the crowd no end!

Anyhow, thanks for all your hard work Eds. and where if Ed 52 lately? {Ed002's Note - There is sustained interest in Arda Turan from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player and from his former club Galatasaray. Both Chelsea and Monaco enquired after the player earlier in the summer and Monaco has made two bids. An enquiry has also been made by Arsenal. Atletico Madrid previously rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January and even now they would ideally like to keep him for at least another year still. However, a bid of €24M would be enough to satisfy his club.}

Arda Turans agent has spoken to the press about his client. He has said Arda wants to play in the EPL and could move this window if someone meets his buyout clause. He also stated that LFC and ARSEnal were interested. He is probably just causing a fuss and trying to drum up interest!

However he also stated he and Arda had spoken about the gooners and that Arda liked what Wenger was doing there!

Just FYI. I personally don't believe a word of it. yet!

Believable10 Unbelievable18

Turan is effectively a cheaper alternative to William now you mention it

Agree0 Disagree0

Regurgetated again today, all the same quotes from his agent, but Arda, can play lw, lm cam, and I don't see Arsenals need for those possitions, they nead a goal scorer, a goal keeper, a defender or two and a defensive midfield player, (unless AV, plans on copying barca and playing with 3 cam's), whilst I wish it were us going for him, it would seem we are hell bent on this willian kid, with talk of 120k per week, Arda is only a year older than willian and his wages are much less than that being offered., Yet again another transfer window and Arda Turans name is being flung around again. would be nice to see us sign willian and arda, but I think that's best saved for fifa and dreams, rather than any actual eventuality :( {Ed002's Note - There is sustained interest in Arda Turan from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player and from his former club Galatasaray. Both Chelsea and Monaco enquired after the player earlier in the summer and Monaco has made two bids. An enquiry has also been made by Arsenal. Obviously we can't sign everyone Eds but I was just wondering why we didn't make a move to bring in Emmanuelle Giaccherini? Not young but neither are Siqueira and Cissokho particularly and he can play as attacking left back and also on the right and left flank had vast experience and was relatively cheap at £6.5 million for Sunderland! What do you think of him? {Ed002's Note - THat would be a Dear Brendan question. I don't decide who Liverpool try to buy, the tubby one does.}

Believable8 Unbelievable8

He is a decent player, but nothing more. Also, he is primarily a central attacking midfielder or a wide player and I don't see him as an improvement on Enrique at left back.

Agree0 Disagree1

Just a wild stab in the dark here, but have you thought that the reason we didn't sign Giaccherini was because Rodgers didn't want him?

I know I will get ripped apart for this but I wouldn't mind us going for Yossi Benayoun again. Free agent and I think he would be good squad player still has something to offer.

Was gutted when Yossi left more so than Torres. On another note I would be surprised if we sign Willan, I am not being a pessimist its just that if Man U and Tottenham are also after him, can we really compete and that is not me having a go at the owners or BR as if you look through my past posts I have always and will always be a big supporter of both.

YNWA {Ed002's Note - Benayoun will likely conclude a deal to join Crystal Palace - possibly today.}

Believable3 Unbelievable47

I have just read that ed sorry if I wasted your time.

Agree1 Disagree0

You won't get ripped apart but for me I would not want him back. Too light weight and a little ineffective

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree, I wouldn't mind getting Yossi back for 1 season while FSG work on securing quality younger signings for the future. He always creates chances and can play anywhere. Loads of experience.

Agree0 Disagree1

Okay you're ripped in the worst way. Benayoun couldn't hold down a first team place after he left us so why would he now be good enough to have sitting on our bench? Better blooding youngsters than bringing back has beens on good wages. Yossi was a pretty decent player once but his best days are way behind him.

Agree2 Disagree0

He hasn't played well consistently since leaving us.

Agree0 Disagree0

No. just. god no!

Hello ED1 & 2 hope all is well & you have a great day!

Just a quick question, any news on S. Coates? do you expect him to leave in this window? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new. He will go if an acceptale offer comes in.}

Understood Thanks #2!

Have Granada decided they want more money for Siqueira?
Keep up the good work

Believable20 Unbelievable5

According to James Pearce of the Echo, we were originally told that the price was 3.5mil, then it went up to 5.5 mil, now they want 12 mil. Apparently according to other reports this is because Real Madrid have an interest.

Personally I think we are right to walk away, we shouldn't be held to ransom on any player.

YNWA

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes. They want £12 million.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for the replies and obv £12m is too much

Agree2 Disagree0

Cissikho deal done!

Agree3 Disagree0

Forcing us to go back to Cissohko and agree. can't complain really!

Agree1 Disagree0

Get Sissokho quick before he goes elsewhere.

Hi eds, just wondering with willian's recent interview do you think we will step up our interest? Thanks in advance. {Ed001's Note - the interview will change nothing, it was well known he is a Liverpool supporter anyway.}

Believable28 Unbelievable8

Lol brace yourself for "is he really a Liverpool fan? We should defo sign him!" posts ed, you've opened a can of worms with that response.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is there are a chance that we could get him? {Ed002's Note - He is available and Liverpool has an idea of the cost.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Hey Ed, did the bid for Willian from Manchester City come before or after they signed Jovetic/Negredo etc? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - After.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Eds do you think with the World Cup looming and the fact that (a big if) we are in contention to sign Willian, he might favor a move to a club where he should get more game time i.e. LFC as apart from mu all the other teams that are said to be liked have more/ already signed attacking players? (Clutching at straws a bit I know). Thanks appreciate all your fab work on this site. {Ed002's Note - It won't be a consideration.}
