Hi eds
Just wanted to ask with regards to Allan who's on loan at Hertha, under what circumstances would he get a work permit and be eligible to play for us. Bit of a confusing area so just wondering you could list the possible circumstances
Cheers and keep up the good work
Ksbhogal.

{Ed002's Note - He does not meet the work permit requirements so Liverpool would need to request a hearing to make a case for him as a "special talent" and they know that after lying to the committee last year about another player their brownie points will be used up. Hertha Berlin would loike to have him continue on loan and I suspect that is what will happen. Right now Liverpool is not well structured for looking after such players - something I would hope that they can address – but the addition of Grujic makes Allan’s long-term future as a Liverpool player in doubt.}

Cheers ed2, does playing in European competitions help his case or just international appearances count?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

16 May 2017 03:32:57
Do you expect Grujic to kick on next season?

For me He needs to work on his core strength to build up the stamina for a premiership season.

Not just him though, all the other younger lads coming through will need the same as they appear very light

Bar Origi. he seems to be physically there but maybe his confidence needs a boost.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - stamina and strength is very rarely there at a young age, it is very easily developed, but it takes time. I don't see it as a problem.}

16 May 2017 13:59:09
What does Allan's future have to do with Grujic Ed002? They are both midfielders but that's the only thing they have in common. Two completely different type of players, its not a case of one or the other. Allan's direct competition at LFC will be Henderson and Chirivella.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot keep adding midfield players to the squad without removing some. Allan likely has no future at Liverpool in any case. Try not to be an idiot about this.}

16 May 2017 14:33:25
IB, it is the work permit they have in common. Liverpool got a workpermit for Grujic due to promised playtime, a promise that wasnt kept.
Which obviously makes it hard to try and make the same promise again to get a work permit for Allan.

ED's please correct me if im wrong but this is how i understood things.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool know that a "special talent" nwork permit will be much harder to get after lying last time, yes. Add to that Allan will not be homegrown now and his chances diminesh.}

16 May 2017 15:19:35
Is it ability the reason behind you seeing no future for Allan or more circumstances around the permit? Surely if its ability there's no rush to judge, a young lad who's had appearances in a top league and would have played a lot more but for the u20 championships with Brazil.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He does not qualify for a work permit. He is not home grown. I am not sure why I need say the same things over and over.}

16 May 2017 15:41:42
Hi Eds,

Knowing nothing about the subject myself, how should Liverpool be structured to handle these kinds of players. This is surely not a unique situation for Liverpool but for all clubs. A club as the size of Liverpool should have grasped this by now? Lack of future planning? and are they being addressed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but they are not.}

16 May 2017 17:46:21
With Stewart and Lucas due to leave this summer or next, and no one knowing how Henderson will be managed in the future would there not be space for him if he has a super season next year and gets his permit? think he looks a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can't see him getting in to the Brazil squad.}

16 May 2017 21:58:38
Would becoming a starter for Hertha and playing maybe 30-40 games for a team in a top league with European football at the age of 20 not be enough? Or does he HAVE to get into the Brazil squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He does not meet the criteria for a work permit - you are clutching at straws.}

15 May 2017 14:44:17
Hi eds. Do you think Nat Clyne will be moved on this summer? With Trent AA doing a good job when called upon and us being linked with Rafinha (judging from the papers), it seems like even RB is not as sorted as we think.
I remember last summer he wasn't that happy with LFC.
Many thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any efforts to sell Clyne and Liverpool has not been looking specifically at RBs.}

15 May 2017 14:50:22
Ed002, didn't you say that you thought that the club would sell Clyne this summer? Or was that ed001?

Cheers,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it was Ed001.}

15 May 2017 14:50:43
Thought we were interested in Pereira from Nice Ed he's a right back?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The interest in him was due to his versatility.}

15 May 2017 15:22:54
Okey, my bad!

Thanks Ed!

Ed 002, on May 30, 2016, you stated in your response to a post that Sofiane Feghouli may have been tentatively speculated for Liverpool but you believed he was moving elsewhere with confirmation expected shortly. Well, it happened like you said (not that anyone is surprised you called that right as you almost always do! ) .
Anyway, I thought he was probably the brightest spark for the Hammers yesterday and I was wondering, purely speculating, if there'll any movement this summer for Sofiane Feghouli this summer, and if so, if it has anything to do with Liverpool.
Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of two clubs who have spoken with West Ham about Sofiane Feghouli but Liverpool moved on to Mane last season and seem satisfied with him.}

15 May 2017 12:14:30
I think satisfied would be an understatement ed.

Agree19 Disagree1

15 May 2017 13:57:38
What makes you think he is good enough for us? Cannot even get into the West Ham first team.

15 May 2017 16:41:05
Neither could mascherano but he turned out alright (potential understatement) . Sometimes quality players don't suit the team / manager they play for, it doesn't affect their qualities and fit in other teams. I have no idea if feghouli is any good but if our scouts decide they want him I will support him, as with all players.

Agree6 Disagree0

16 May 2017 19:09:46
Mascherano was a top class player playing for a numpty manager who didn't understand how to use him. Feghouli is a bang average player.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2017 18:42:20
That numpty manager named Alan Pardew, was the one who thought a highly-rated Mascherano from Argentina knocking on the door of the national team, was inferior to the great Hayden Mullins. There's a reason he is a woeful n=manager, out of a job, and bitter who has not gotten over LFC and SG snatching the FA Cup from in in 2006.

Hi eds, would you suspect by the Robertson signing he will Ben a back up LB? With Moreno on the move? I'm nkt a foot ball manager but I can see that we need a better LB than Robertson is.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - what signing? No deal has been done, he is one of a number under consideration, but he has not signed as of yet. Hull were not discussing player futures until after they knew which division they would be in.}

15 May 2017 01:14:49
Liverpool are looking to sign William Carvalho this summer. He is available and Klopp is looking to sort out a deal.
