Just checked Skybet and Aguero is 5/ 1 Fav to join us as reported earlier.

However, Interestingly Owen is 2/ 1 Fav to sign for Brighton.

Now, I'm guessing neither of these will happen.

Hi ed's, great job. .
just a quick question. .how serious was the jan approach for Richards?? I know there was an offer/ enquiry but were DM and KK expecting anything or was it hope and see??
he has been outstanding for Citeh this season.
cheers

B3nLFC {Ed002's Note - I don't know how "serrious" it was per se, the only relevant thing would be if there is still interest and I don't know that there is right now.}

15 May 2011 19:21:47
will be interesting to see if we sign an asian player this year, FSG definitely want to but won't buy bad players just to sell shirts- the problem i see is that most of the best asian players would be unwilling to leave or their clubs unwilling to sell,
honda, hasebe and kagawa whom i consider the safest bets would take a lot of persuasion to leave their current clubs and i have my doubts on park chu young making it into the team above kuyt carrol suarez or any of our upcoming younguns- lee from bolton would be good but expensive and risky all in all our options are very limited in asia,
maybe we will just sign some for the academy such as the 2 korean trialists that just left

Also ED is it true madrid are closing in on Aguero for nearly 75 mil euros?

KOP89 {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid may be closing in but not at that price - 45M euro is closer. But at present the ball is in Juventus' court as they try and figure a deal out.}

15 May 2011 18:36:01
Just heard kenny will be given a 85m war chest (50m from owners + sales) to Ensure liverpool are title conteneders next season. Kenny is willing to blow 50m on 3 wingers which are mata 20m, marin 15m and young 15m. The rest will be spent on a lb which be ally cissoko for 15m and the cb will be sacko for 20m. With the 85m spent and kenny still wanting a striker, kenny will turn to the free transfer of klose. This will be the end of the transfer business

15 May 2011 18:06:15
KK is very keen to sign players who already have premier league experience and I can confirm the club have already made 'enquiries' for the following players:
Dawson - Spurs
Shawcross - Stoke
Adam - Blackpool
Parker - West Ham
Nolan - Newcastle
Tevez - Man City
Young - Aston Villa
Richards - Man City
Fletcher - Man Utd
Baines - Everton
N'Zogbia - Wigan

KK expects to receive the green light for only one or two players but, in my opinion, all would strenghten the club

15 May 2011 18:02:50
Liverpool will have to rethink transfer targets if they do not qualify for Europe this season.

Some of their targets have aspirations of playing at some european level and failure to qualify will be a set back for King Kenny and Comolli

15 May 2011 17:56:17
ed what are the chances of getting n'zogbia i think we were close in jan no?? {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in teh past, but there does not seem to be at present.}

15 May 2011 17:51:50
Ed, do we still get Europa League football next year given Tottenham are ahead in the Fair Play League? {Ed002's Note - No, the only way for Liverpool to get in to the Europa League is to for the club to get a better result at Aston Villa than Spurs do at home to Birmingham. The 2011-2012 EPL Europa League places are assigned, for this season, as follows:
League Cup Winners: Birmingham City
FA Cup Runners Up: Stoke City
Fifth in EPL: Liverpool or Tottenham
Fair Play League: Tottenham (if Liverpool manages to get to fifth place), Fulham or possibly Blackpool depending on the outcome of the Fair Play League.}

15 May 2011 17:46:42
When does the transfer window open ed ? {Ed002's Note - Each FA decides the date that their transfer window opens. In England and Wales it is after the last game of the season - but that only applies for transfers between clubs who are members of the same FA. For International transfers I think the window will open on July 1.}

15 May 2011 17:42:13
Will they announce aguero after the game?

15 May 2011 17:22:36
Just listened in to 2 LFC officials walking out of Anfield and apparently Young is 100% a target but not a done deal yet. And also (you heard it here first) they were talking about KK and Comolli lining up a deal for Arsenals Theo Walcott. They said it could be likely he will join as Walcott is a lifelong liverpool fan.

{Ed002's Note - This is fantastic news only tainted by it being posted from Bedford half way through the second half of the game against Spurs.}

If we dont get 5th do we get the other europe league place because of man city winning the fa cup or what ?

{Ed002's Note - The 2011-2012 EPL Europa League places are assigned, for this season, as follows:
League Cup Winners: Birmingham City
FA Cup Runners Up: Stoke City
Fifth in EPL: Liverpool or Tottenham
Fair Play League: Tottenham, Fulham or possibly Blackpool}

15 May 2011 15:52:09
Hey ED's,

Have you herad anything about Honda?
Would love to see him at the club.
I think he is a fantastic player {Ed002's Note - Liverpool may have blown their chance in January when he was available. It is now mid-season in Russia and he is less likely to move.}

15 May 2011 15:42:09
Eds - What are the chances out of 10 of these players joining?
Parker, Navas, Gary Cahill, Enrique, Marin, Young, Coutinho {Ed002's Note - 3, 1, 4, 6, 3, 6, 4}

15 May 2011 15:34:58
Before i get terrored for 'MOTD fever', what do you eds think of jack collison? done extremely well for west ham before his injury {Ed002's Note - I have a buddy who often reminds me how good he is. But for me, I see no more than a decent player. I don't see a career at Liverpool for him I am afraid. But then again, Charlie Ada, Joey Barton - you never know.}

15 May 2011 15:34:45
Hi ed. . What's our chances of getting Iker Muniain either this summer, or in next January? Ive seen him on Youtube and he really looks like one to watch. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance - a much better chance than many of the others that folks seemed to think are in Liverpool for negotiation any time now.}

15 May 2011 15:33:21

Hi ed, I heard a rumour that Kenny has told Ayala and N'gog that they haven't got a future at the club, is there any truth to this? {Ed002's Note - I refer you to earlier discussions.}

15 May 2011 15:29:41
Ed what do you think of Fabricio Coloccini ? Good Player ? {Ed002's Note - Ah, MOTD fever.}

Good player, but not good enough.

15 May 2011 15:28:28

Drezperado

Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique has denied claims he has been negotiating over a potential move to Liverpool.

The uncapped Spaniard, a 2007 signing from Villarreal, is reportedly stalling on an extension offer to his contract, which expires in the summer of 2012.

Liverpool are believed to be keen on his services with the Reds in the market for more width to provide service for towering centre-forward Andy Carroll.

Carroll and Enrique combined to good effect when together at the Magpies, but the left-back has denied holding talks over a prospective move to Anfield.

"Liverpool is a big club but I am not negotiating with them at the moment, I am calm at Newcastle, " he told Radio Marca.

"My dream is to play for the Spain national side and I think that I have a chance.

"I have improved as a footballer since my arrival to England. The Premier League is more competitive than La Liga and I have not received offers to return to Spain.

"The referees in England are not so strict on the field because they permit more action."

Having received a £35million cash injection from the sale of Carroll to Liverpool in January, Enrique believes the Magpies must reinvest the money into the squad.

He added: "Newcastle now needs to buy many players if the club want to be among the best in the Premier League."

Anything in this story Ed, being that Phil Thompson said its a done deal? {Ed001's Note - Thommo just jumped the gun, we have looked at him, he has admitted he would be interested in the move and Newcastle have indicated a willingness to sell him. But no deal has yet been struck.}

15 May 2011 15:07:04
Ed001's Note - his agent is there to deal with Maxi's new contract, he represents both players.}

no he doesn't do your homework ed001 {Ed001's Note - look person without the balls to put a name to their posts, both players are represented by T21plus Sportsmanagement. Don't worry I know you won't have the common decency to apologise, nameless people who put in digs without knowing what they are talking about never do.}

I agree it could be for Maxi (i'm a different guy by the way) but his contract runs out in 2013, so why would he need a new one now?

JMS {Ed001's Note - because he is being highly paid and the club want to discuss a lower and longer term deal or whether to sell him.}

After the Janurary transfer window, LFC sorted out the problems that were occuring with the strikers.

Hopefully in the summer transfer window the problems occuring with wide players will be sorted. Looks like LFC will try to sign Ashley Young, but they are also looking to the French market, with Marveaux looking certain to sign with Payet a good possibility.

Liverpool could be looking to the French market to add dept to the center field positions. M'villa, Adam and Milner are possible transfer targets.

In defense, with Aggers persistent injury problems and the lack of cover for Agger, Vertogen could be a possible transfer target. Clichy could also be a possible target if he is available for less than 10 million.

15 May 2011 13:10:48
What would you think of a move for lazio's zarate?. Looks like a great player and fits nesv's young potential category . .

Attention, attention, everyone. The news we have been all waiting for is just in.
Siamese twin Sergio Ken Aguero has just landed at John Lennon Airport.

He will immediately be chauffeured to Anfield by Michel Seydoux. Greeting him at the entrance will be Pini Zahavi and Franjo Vranjkovic. The three men will then proceed to the directors' box, where they will join Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Nevan Subotic, Javier Pastore and Givalnido de Souza.

Master of Ceremonies Maurizio Zamparini will announce above's attendance 20 minutes before the proceedings get under way.
On the flip side, Madridista Lassana was refused entry at the Airport. He was also supposed to attend.
He was told, however, "too much baggage".

Other than this, the King's Coronation promises to be a real blast. Attendees are sure not to have enough. . Luis Suarez will see to that.

Nicholas Kudrow

Shay Given - If Reina leaving he will ideal replacement - experience with 110 caps and have already work with KK in Newcastle

Stephen Warnock - Backup Leftback know the setup of old clubs
Pablo Armero - Excellent attacking Wing back Like to defend also attack but Barcelona also after him

Yann MVila - if can't sign Sissoko his and options strong and excellent defensive palyer
Javi Martinez - Long Term replacement for Gerrard and setup goals and score goals from long range just like Gerrard
Steven Defour - back from broken leg excellent attacking midfielder could sign as to replace ineffective Joe Cole also have good relationship with Comolli but Man Utd could steal him from Liverpool

James McCarthy - unlikely to sign while Liverpool got Jonjo Shelvey
Ashley Young need 20m+ to get him quick and can whipping the ball into the penalty area ideal for Carroll latch on his crosses
Adam Johnson - Alternative to Young more like to get him than Young half the price can cut in side from the wing and cause problems to defense
Sylvain Marveaux - He's free and play left winger quick and skillful but problem with groin may need a backup winger.
Matthew Jarvis- backup for Young and Marveaux - good crosser of the ball
Stewart Downing - depending will get Marveaux will cost 12m but doubt with his fitness and injury not create enough goals
Eden Hazard - Great if Liverpool can get him nearly complete attacking player will cost 30-40m but more likely end up in Real Madrid or Barcelona
Gareth Bale - can we afford him 50m
Gervinho- nickname the elephant play left side and up front, strong and quick may need 20m

Romelu Lukaku - the next Drogba more like to head to Drogba current clubs
Xabi Alonso - booker have him on 8 to1 to go back to Liverpool. good bet he still have a house in Chest shire and he still love Liverpool unfortunately his on £165kpw and cost 30m and weather is nicer than merseyside
Fabio Coentreo - ideally Liverpool would like him but too expensive starting bid 20m may end up paying 25-30m
Fernando Gago -Surplus in Real Madrid likely to move on cost 8m but others team will bid will cost 10m option if we can't get Sissoko or MVila
Blaise Matuidi- same combative quality as Mascherano fierce and strong tackler may be double swop him and Dimitri Payet from St Etienne
Emilio Izaguirre - The problems is Celtic want 10m for him
Nicolas Gaitan - another option for left winger but Have to bid more than 18m before Benfica releasing him
Bojan Krkic - pint size forward have to completing with some of euopean top clubs for his signature include Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter, Mian, Juve, A Madrid, Valencia, Bayer Munich and others
Hugo Rodallega - could come in as backup for Suarez Cost 10m will be good buy with good scoring record in PL must fence off Everton for his signature
Arda Turan - dream to play for Liverpool the left winger could be in cost 10m less than some of second choice winger ie Downing Adams and Javis
Nuri Sahin - we cost considerable less than all the wingers Liverpool try to get 6m but have Chelsea and Man Utd are after him might have a task to persuade him to come
Dimitri Payet - another oprions if we can't get Ashley Young or Adams Johnson

Balazs Dzsudzs k - another left winger Liverpool is interest unlike to be sign for since several left wingers ahead him
Ryan Shawcross - unless Sktrel leave he won't be consider
Mich Richards - Man City want 15m+ for RB unlikely already have Johnson, Kelly and incoming Flanagan
at the RB position
Addition players may or maynot be Liverpool Player
Brad Friedel Short Term replace another Brad (Jones)until suitable GK move up a scales
Aaron Lennon very quick like Young tend to do too much and lose the ball but frightening the lives of defenders with his pace
Peter Crouch Like to come back and only for backup, it the reason why he want to leave Spur
Georginio Wijnaldum Dirk Kuyt is his hero and could replace Kuyt in the future play right and centre attacking midfield role just like Kuyt. DC have already contact Feyernoord for his availability
Michael Owen - Out of Contract end of season . KK fancy him to come back but fan are not . Would be a backup- more likely head to old boss Gerard Houllier team Aston Villa

Iker Muniain - Spanish Messi total package will be £35m (£25m up front and another 10m depend on appearances and international games) at 18 bit risky

Phillipe Coutinho could cost £15m Old Inter Manager Rafa influence may be a factor for him to come if he decide to go
Sergio Aguero Maradona son in law will cost £30m Plus but prefer Kennington and Chelsea than Merseyside but can be persuade if given £200k+ pw to go up north like Eastland
Mirko Vucinc another Left Winger haven t play well at Roma and in and out of the team any offer for him- may be a good buy if he capture his form known for his speed and dribbling and abilities to score impressive goals
Mario Gomez did try to get him last season but decide to stay New Bayer Manager need fund to buy new player may attempt with a big offer . Score 24 goals this season alternative to Carroll up front
Gael Clichy Arsenal contract rebel Left back £7m might be good chance signing him cheaper than Enrique also Wenger already found a replacement Mamadou Sakho
Keisuke Honda good backup for Steven Gerrard play similar role and also Asian shirt sales will go up the roof - but several European clubs also after his shirt
Scot Parker short term answer to Alonso great passer of the ball cheap £5-6m
Alexis Sanchez.- At £40m minimum Cheaper to go for Young and Andy Johnson combine
Oscar Wendt Sweden Left back KK and DC already see him play several times could be more likely to come in than other 2nd choiceleft back
Hamit Altintop- Surplus for Bayer Munich desperate to go, can play any where across the midfield cheaper than all the wingers £5m
Carlton Cole since West Ham more likely to go down - he and parker will be going out the door KK fancy him to backup for Carroll-offer of region of £8m + £6m for Scott Parker not a bad buy + they want Konchesky for £1.5m and

15 May 2011 12:25:04
Ed why arent wetrying to get sanchez, there are rumours of him going to city for 25m; surely we could afford to spend that much on a player of his quality {Ed002's Note - I will try and explain what I know to be correct and what is “rumoured” about Alexis Sanchez. We know that Chelsea and Inter Milan have made unsuccessful bids, and we know that Manchester United and Barcelona have a declared interest. Juventus had previously been interested but were hoping that (a) Sanchez stayed under the radar until a deal could be struck, and (b) Udinese would look kindly on an arrangement that included some cash and several players either in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. As an aside Juventus have proposed a similar deal for Javier Pastore. Anyway, there was a January meeting with Chelsea in Monaco and broad agreement was reached over the transfer before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions. I expect that Juventus will not come back in to the picture. Although Sanchez has been watched by numerous teams including Roma, there is nothing new other than Manchester City preparing a bid for the player as well. They have, like Juventus, recently been knocked back in a bid for Pastore and are likely to aim their cheque book in another direction – this may well be Sanchez. The advantage they have, in addition to being able to match any transfer fee, is the ability to put together a wage deal far beyond anything the other clubs could afford or would be willing to pay. I suspect that we will see this whole saga drag out through the summer transfer window as Pozzo puts the player on the market, takes him off the market, values him at €100M and so on. Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter will all likely remain interested but could well tire of the expected drawn-out negotiations. Manchester United and Chelsea were both originally wary of the player being not quite as robust as needs be for the EPL. Perhaps Inter will get their man or perhaps Sanchez will take an offer from Manchester City or respond positively to reported interest from the nice folks at Real Madrid. Liverpool are not currently part of the equation.}

Eds is it true that man city have made a 22m bid for mata and if so where does it leave us in the race for his signature {Ed002's Note - Valencia may be preparing for life after Mata by lining up Elia as a replacement. Although there is some interest from Liverpool and it would not be entirely out of the question that the club could move for the player, I suspect he may end up elsewhere with interest being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and I suspect Barcelona will become interested at some point. If Barcelona do show their hand I expect he could move there, if not Chelsea are heading the queue. It is unclear what formal bids have been made.}

I don't see much need to sign any more strikers(aguero, lavezzi, benzema) as we've got an amazing partnership in carroll and suarez and we've also got players who could fill in if either of the two get injured

Now on to transfer's

Jose Enrique (7-12mil) 7.5/10 chance
Ashley Young(15-25mil) 8/10 chance
Juan Mata (18-22mil) 7/10 chance
Brad Friedel (Bosman) 8/10 chance
Adel Taarabt (Joe Cole and 7mil)chance 50/50

There have been many names brought up as always but as i see it there the transfers with the most likelyhood

Hi ed,
Please could yourself or any fellow reds out there give me a good site to watch todays game?

{Ed002's Note - All I can provide is these simple instructions for watching the game via Google Chrome. These instructions are very simple to follow and work just fine:

HOW TO WATCH FOOTBALL ON THE INTERNET (WITH THANKS TO RED LENIN)
1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

Ed and fellow folks. Couple of issues.

AGUERO: how truly unthinkable is it that Liverpool Football Club would fork out £38m+ for such a (young) brilliant forward as this kid and indeed one of the best footballers in the world?
Is it inconceivable that Liverpool would put together a "package" to secure Kun Aguero?
Ed?

Much has been said about the chances of this kid coming to LFC, from zero to slim to very real chance.
Personally, I don't see it happening, and I'm not sure if I want it to happen either.

I don't see how we need this player. People keep saying he's exactly like Suarez. No, he isn't. Suarez first and foremost is a striker as such and can lead the line on his own and very often thrives coming from the wide areas. Aguero, on the other hand, is not a striker as such. He certainly won't lead the line on his own. He's an "in the hole man" and thrives in the centre.
These two players certainly do share some attributes, but are nowhere near being the same type of player.

What we need is a striker as such; someone who'll be able to do it up top on his own and get goals when Luis and Carro aren't playing. The French kid Benzema would be my pick.

Clamours for Aguero at £38m+ and frankly ridiculous reek of insanity. If we to spend that much on one player, it should be one in a priority area, e.g. Sachez or Johnson.
I'd really be surprised if we end up signing Mr Kun, seriously, just makes no sense to me.

ALONSO: to cut to the chase, I don't see Alonso (at 29/ 30) uprooting his family again just 24 months after settling back in Spain. In any case, paying £23m+ plus extortinate wages for a player just a year short of being 30 would go against every piece of FSG's blueprint. Xabi won't be coming back, end of. At about £16m-£18m, I'd expect that Comolli would see Bilbao's young Javi Martinez as a better alternative. I wouldn't disagree with him. I love Xabi, I admire Xabi, but he's not coming back. We should leave it there.

"ENFORCER"- MAKELELE/ MASCHERANO/ M'VILA: how really great is the need for this type of player? I've watched Barca play for quite some time without this type of player and they've done superbly well.
Busquets and Keita are nothing like Makelele. Mascherano is, but he seems to be having it hard breaking into the starting XI (not talking about makeshift centre back here).
Toura Yaya as well wasn't.

If anything, this player, especially if he can't play the ball, is just huge hindrance.
If you watch Barca, all of these guys press high and hard. They close down players, win the ball by rushing the opposition into mistakes and intercept. There's nowt of this flying into tackles stuff. And it works for them.
All eleven men have to an extent a dedicated responsibility to defend and contribute in attacks.

Look at Pique's goal against Inter (CL) and pay particular attention to Messi when he tracks back some 70 yards to disposses Aguero and immediately puts them in the attack. Stunning stuff.
How a team should play.

To cut it short, I'm no fan of this "enforcer"/ Makelele player. He's rather limited and hinders the team (unless you're Chelsea and Jose Mourihno, of course).

BREAKING NEWS! !

Kun to liverpool for 35m and will be at anfield today!
YNWA!

15 May 2011 11:51:24
Well its obvious what sort of players Liverpool need to splash cash to get (fast wingers) Young/mata reasonable rumours. Heard we have intrest in Aguero key word in intrest! I do however think Lavezzi would be a gr8 buy any more information on that ed? The game at anfield, he was the only player who worked their socks off for Napoli. We need players who never give up but have talent to back this up. Leighton Baines is also heavily linked with us.

{Ed002's Note - I think there is a possibility, but keep in mind that Liverpool's interest in Lavezzi pre-dates the January window. He has an agent in Frederic Guerra who does a really good job of talking up his players without being pushy; and a fabulous technique where he denies interest in his players from major clubs thereby attracting attention to them. It is also possible that he will stay at Napoli who will almost certainly have Champions League football next season.}

Ed, What are the chances of signing Marko marin?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I refer you to yesterday's extensive discussion on the player.}

15 May 2011 11:47:57
Baines, marin, turan, gervinhio, and maybe i midfielder from matuidi, sissoko, adam should be enough for us to mount a challenge next season, what you think eds, are these realistic targets {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure that they are all available, but you are probably in teh right ball park.}

15 May 2011 11:41:41
ed i have heard there has benn a fotmal enquiry to scott parker, is this true? Cheers {Ed001's Note - I have not heard any talk of that, I expect him to most likely end up at Spurs if anywhere to be honest. You know how Harry likes to collect midfielders and Parker is a Spurs fan.}

Just a quick heads up to those of you suggesting left backs for next season. Taye Taiwo has already been confirmed as an AC Milan player for next season and i read a while back that Fabio Coentrao is in advanced discussions with, if not signed for, Bayern Munich so really no chnace of either (as the eds have already said)

The Gunners meanwhile are ready to fight Manchester City and Liverpool for Everton's sought after full-back Leighton Baines.

Spurs, Liverpool and West Brom are all keen to sign Aston Villa keeper Brad Friedel, who becomes a free agent this summer, although the Villa Park club want him to sign a new deal.

United meanwhile are set to battle Liverpool for the signing of Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique.

To ed
i was just wondering that the turan story has died down abit , it is more then likely that he will go to atletico madrid , but could lfc be doing tranfer talks behind close doors the lfc way.
cheers
paul ynwa77 {Ed002's Note - A very slim chance. Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Dortmund apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. Spurs have dipped their toe in the water over the player and I suspect Valencia are keeping a watchful eye on matters. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

Yeah I agree as Taiwo has already signed for A.C. Milan.

15 May 2011 10:17:24
Morning. this is what i think may happen. ngog, ayala will be offered to bolton for cahill and maybe some money. konchesky will be part of the enrique deal. poulsen will be offered to blackpool as part of the adams deal because king kenny wants him. they will only offer poulsen if they stay in the prem. as for jovanovic he wiil be used as a deal for another player not sure who. maybe defour. iam not so sure we will get young or downing. i do think kk will go for jarvis, mata. as for aquilani i know kk wants him to come back. he is a good player and i would like to see him given a go. then we don't have to get adam as none of the fans seem to want him. i still think kk will go for calton cole and use some of are youngs guns as a make way for that deal. maxi, cole will stay for at least another season. ed; is this marveaux a done deal?

{Ed002's Note - Marveaux is a done deal subject to a successful medical and both sides signing on the dotted line - a 9 out of 10 perhaps.}

15 May 2011 10:14:12
I it true naymar (the young brazilian that played for Santos) and Sanchez will be at the game today ??? I also hope we sign marin who looks a really talented player I think we should go all out to sign him what do u think Ed ????

Ynwa Dave {Ed002's Note - I don't know if Marin will also be at the game today as well. But you never know.}

15 May 2011 10:11:54
If Chelsea are only asking £14m for Sturrige, Under Kennys guidance i think he would be a great buy.

15 May 2011 10:11:17
Why are Sanchez and Neymar at the game? Have seen in a paper that Young will make his dream move to United when we all know he is 100% a LFC player.

15 May 2011 09:51:01
Hi Ed,

just listened to talksports Sunday morning show and a journalist was talking to Micky Quinn and Mark Sagers and he stated we are trying to hijack Man Citeh's bid for Sanchez. . .and we are looking at a fair few options, but we are trying to keep things under wraps just in case Chelski and man Citeh get a sniff and bump up the price.

What does anyone think. . more journalists making things up. .or an ounce of truth. .I know all the Eds on here don't believe we stand a cat in hells chance of Sanchez. .but what if! !

I say bring it on, lets go for these world class players, if they decide against it, their loss

Timmo. {Ed002's Note - And Sanchez will be at the game this afternoon. . }

15 May 2011 09:37:16
Hi ed is there any possibility of signing Hazard ? {Ed002's Note - Slim at best I am afraid. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well. I rather think he will end up in Italy, possibly at Inter.}

15 May 2011 09:34:34
Has anyone considered Neymar, he would work well with Sureaz and Caroll {Ed002's Note - And he will be at the game this afternoon....}

15 May 2011 09:33:53
What are the chances of these ed?
Marin Turan Young Mata Lavezzi Ageuro Cahill

{Ed002's Note - 3, 2, 7, 3, 4, 1, 4}

Morning, I have heard over the past couple of days and I think the press has picked this one up to about Adel Taarabt. By no means confirmed as far as I am aware we are just enquiring at the moment however the season he has had in the championship has been unbelievable (cue Championship players don't always make good Premiership players) but I think this lad would be a great investment.

I think a lot of the players on here are ridiculous e.g. Aguero. Kenny has said "not be held to ransom by greedy players". I think with additions to the squad we could certainly be challenging for probably top 3 at least.

Ok Fellow Reds.

Enough is enough. We need possibly 4-5 new signings. 40m Aguero will not be one. LFC will not spend this much on one player when our squad is depleted at the moment. We need quality players at the right price. Please keep in mind we are still considering plans for a new stadium. i don't want to speculate who will sign cos Comolli and KK are the only one's who really know. I can say this. im confident the right players will be bought and not the most lavish and high priced ones. This is real life not Championship Manager.

YNWA.

15 May 2011 08:33:49
Morning ed, looks like you had a busy day yesterday trying to convince people that sergio aguero is not liverpool bound. gutted that hulk seems to be staying at porto, think he could have been a great signing for us, as he is comfortable on either wing or up front. i know alot of people don't think another forward is needed, but carroll struggles with fitness, that's clear enough and if suarez was to pick up an injury then i think we would have problems. kuyt has really hit it off with suarez and they have looked great of late, but when he plays as the main striker by himself we look very ineffective. so i would like to see a striker come in, benzema keeps coming up, and i think he would be a good addition, he must be unhappy at being dropped again.
ashley young under kenny would be a great buy imo, but would have to be deployed down the right wing, he has pace to burn and would assist carroll in many goals next year. marveiux i can't comment on as i have not seem much of him, but he has attracted interest from top clubs in the past.
i think left back might cause kenny a problem next season, kelly was great at right back, and johnson didn't put a foot wrong when asked to play at left back. so will he buy a left back or see what happens first half the season with johson playing there?
delighted at the emergance of spearing of late everyone including myself thought he would never be up to first team standard. . and look at how a bit of faith shown by the manager and confidence can bring someone on.
cahill seems to be the top target for cb and the thought of him next to carra next year is mouthwatering, carra plays on the edge every game, 100% commited and cahill is much like agger very comfortable on the ball. would be a good partnership next year with game time given to wilson, ayala etc to bed them in. think its time to cash in on agger, great player but never available due to injury.
its a difficult situation, on who we buy, as in all the problem positions someone has stepped up to the plate, flannagan, robinson, spearing even lucas, scott parker would be a great addition, and would get two good years from him, giving shelvey time progess.
so there you go, i know its the usuall suspects young, marveiux , cahill and benzema but i think they would make a huge difference. add to that scott parker to add the bite in midfield and we could be in business next year. i know aquilani is not gonna come back, but i think its a shame he will be judged on the few games he played, and also that he has judged his time in england on the few games he played. he has been great in italy this year, and would proberly, had he never signed for us been a player that we had sent scouts to watch.

a top 4 finish and a trip to wembley for either cup and that has to be deemed a success considering the last 2 seasons.

ed the same names have constantley been linked to us, do you think the above players would be enough to get a top four finish next year?
matt 27 {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to be sure of a top four place for Liverpool, but the key thing is to be challenging competitively - which I am sure they will.}

15 May 2011 08:32:51
For all those slating Cahill, I agree he is over hyped and priced high because he's English. However he's good in the air, composed on the ball (perhaps hoofs a little) and has good pace and positioning. He also plays next to Zat Knight, which is like playing with one leg so at least give him some credit. I'd prefer Sakho but if Cahill signed I wouldn't be disappointed and I would say the same for Ashley Young. Add a left back and an out and out winger (I see Ashley Young as a flexible attacker) and we're in business.

Does anyone think Marveux was being lined up to replace Maxi and know that he's come good we may stay clear due to his injury record?

Papa G

15 May 2011 08:18:11
Lots of scott parker talk on here but is anything doing the rounds about Mark Noble? Would be a good long term addition.

Fellow Reds I have a favor to ask. Stop posting ridiculous rumours. Aguero is not coming! ! I have been listening to this stupid rumour every transfer window. And we're not going to get Benzema either. Firstly, he will cost nothing short of 30 mil (the price RM paid for him) as he is young, talented, and scored 20+ goals this season. There will be no cut price. And also we did not pay 57 mil for Suarez and Carroll for one of them to come of the bench. Alonso will not be returning. We are not about to pay 15+ million for a 29 year old CM when we have young talent. And some of your lists of purchases are about 8 players long. What are we just buying a whole new squad? We're not Man City. Mata, Young, Marin, Enrique, Marveaux, Sissoko are reasonable rumours, but we are certainly not going to get them all. These posts of yours are nothing short of wishful thinking. Ed please post this to rumours. It needs to be said.

15 May 2011 05:07:27
Sergio Aguero will not be joining Liverpool(sadly) - he's off to Real Madrid. Jack Wilshere, Leighton Baines, Adam Johnson, Ashley Young & Gary Cahill will be summer signings.

to those who posted dis, u would've made a mistake by saying dis cuz atletico had revealed in aguero's contract dat he can't join real madrid. its in his clause mate

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing in Aguero's contract that stops him joining Real M adrid.}

15 May 2011 04:25:34
N'Gog being looked at by a handful of clubs toward the bottom half of the table. West Ham, West Brom, Bolton (not exactly bottom half but they are interested) and Norwich are also keen.

Also, my sources inside Melwood tell me that the move for A. Johnson is still very much on and is gathering pace fast. The chances of him coming are now very much in out favour.

Lastly, A. Young deal is essentially done, just waiting for the window to open. Fee 15.5 Million.
