Hey Eds,

I was wondering if Liverpool have shown any interest in Memphis Depay from PSV. He's a young guy with heaps of potential but he could make an instant impact on the team as well and I think he'd be an excellent signing.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - PSV's Memphis Depay has attracted interest from a number of clubs with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Newcastle, Spurs, Marseille and Manchester United looking to see of a deal can be struck this past summer. Marseille signed Batshuayi and dropped their interest in Depay and UEFA sanctions will block any move from Manchester City before next summer. Newcastle and Spurs are know to still keeping an eye on the player with Manchester United and Everton being suggested as possible destinations as well. Someone very knowledgable about football in the Netherlands has suggested that a move to Newcastle would suit him better than the likes of Real Madrid or the Manchester sides as he would need a couple of years to establish himself in the first team and sitting on the bench will not help him at all. He has also advised against a move to Spurs, and his views are well enough thought of to likely remove them from being an option for the player himself.}

Hey Eds, with Mignolet dropped you think we might fork out for Perin now?
His agent said no Italian club can afford him but he's said he really doesn't want to go abroad has he?

Thanks!

Believable4 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - My view on Perin has not changed. Up to now Liverpool has been looking for a goalkeeper on a pre-contract agreement in January. Now we are seeing claims that Liverpool will be bidding against Crystal Palace for the signature of John Ruddy in January.}

Depressing times for us I think.

Whats your take on Ruddy? Would he suit our type of play? Is he good enough for Liverpool eds?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is awful, just another Mignolet - good at shot stopping but woefully deficient in every other area of a goalkeeper's art.}

Thanks ed, just what I thought.
Havent we learned anything this year regarding keepers, and why buy older keepers when you get perfectly great keepers with lots of talent AND quality.
Look how united dealt with their keeper "problem" and now they have what everyone else wants.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no point us getting a young keeper without a decent keeping coach to bring him through....}

If the best our scouting team can come up with is John Ruddy, then they should all be sacked.

I kind of hope that we get turned over by Bournemouth just so that it means that Rogers and his croneys have to go.

Agree3 Disagree1

I agree. I'd take a loss at B'mouth IF IT GUARANTEES the sack for Rodgers and all staff.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good grief, Ruddy rumours can't be true. I agree that signing a young keeper is not the solution and Perin could have problems settling. The pre-contract plan would indicate Neto or Romero but perhaps things have got a bit more urgent since that was the way of thinking. Personally, I wouldn't be thrilled with either of those and firmly believe the position will only be sorted by spending a few quid to get Begovic or somehow convincing Cech to move up north.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perin looks like a slightly taller, younger, more handsome, Italian version of Mignolet. Looks like he has had a very good breakout season with Genoa earning himself an Italian cap last month.

Agree a GK coach may be needed. Will need a couple of defensive coaches as priority!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So you think the answer is to add three more coaches? Fortunately, the expectation is that the owners will accept the independent advice that won't simply suggest adding a Director of Football and a random number of new coaches.

They would probably need a new bandwagon to get to work in as well.}

Are Rulli and Romero out of contract next summer?

Romero not a great shot stopper but doesn't get bullied in the box, don't know much about Rulli except that he is being touted as one of the better 2nd tier young GKs (first tier being ter Stegen/Courtois/ De Gea)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No and Yes.}

Hi Eds,
I remember something about LFC looking at a couple of GKs out of contract next summer.

Do you know if Kraft (Hertha) has signed a new contract or will he be moving this summer?
Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Hertha Berlin are looking to extend the contract of Thomas Kraft although interest has been shown by Borussia Mönchengladbach.}

Gday Eds, are Inter still interested in Balotelli, Lucas or Borini? Any of their players we are interested in?

Thanks!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Lucas. There might also interest in Balotelli but only at less than half what LFC want.}

Liverpool want to recover what they paid for him? That seems pretty darned optimistic.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool want to recover the entire cost associated with the player.}

That Rogers has created a situation where Lucas, our best defensive midfield player, is looking to leave yet Allen, one of the least effective players to have ever pulled on a Liverpool shirt is going to stay, says everything about his management.
Honestly can see Bournemouth beating us this week, then there is no more BS for BR to hide behind.

Agree2 Disagree1

If they are not complaining about paying an extra few million for players and loosing them after months of poor negotiations they are asking ridiculous amounts for a player who has done nothing to justify the price. *sigh*

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course there is interest in Lucas. Should be first name on the team sheet at the moment.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lucas played well in the last 4/5 matches and we remained unbeaten. Now Rodgers wants to sell him, like the way he got rid of Agger. Lucas/Agger replaced by Allen/Lovren says it all. I think before this manager does any further harm to our club, he must be sacked.

Ed002, are we looking to recover around £20-£25m and Inter willing to pay around £10-£12m then? Just trying to get context, as recovering all costs would include, among other things, agents fees, wages, signing on fees etc (thinking back to the post you have repeated a few times about associated fees). ?

Got to admit, if I am anywhere in the ballpark, then we are extremely optimistic and much as it pains me to lose so much money in such a short period of time, anything over £10m should be accepted and reinvested.

At around £100k per week (estimate) Ballo will cost us another £2.5m-£3m for the rest of the season and the club must take that into account when doing their sums.

What we have paid for him upto now is not relevant, what is relevant is what someone is willing to pay for him, what we will be saving going forward on him and whether that money can be better utilised elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the figures as it dows nothing but confuse.}

Hi Eds

Im aware that De Bour is looking for a bigger field ro manage in. Is he aware of our interest in him? i'm thinking we couldt have spoken to him as he is with Ajax but has there actually been any advances towards him at this stage other than us just considering him?

Believable6 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - not since he rejected the chance to talk to us before we appointed Rodgers, but I am told that his recent comments about being ready and looking for a new challenge were actually in response to being sounded out about interest in the role. We have yet to make any contact with Ajax that I know of, nor any kind of meaningful contact, other than just a 'would you be interested if the job came up' way.}

I think he would be a good choice as we have lots of very promising youngsters that's need to be blended in out first team and i believe that's the way forward and it will save the clubs millions in the transfer window, also he seems a good young coach who is happy to play youngsters, his style of football is good and he is willing to come by the sounds of things.

Agree1 Disagree0

All sounds like he could well be interested then mate. You still beleive it will be at end of season when we might make an approach for him or is there a chance with cutrent form it could well be January?

Agree0 Disagree1

De Boers brother said today: ""It's a nice club. If Liverpool come now, he would certainly think about it. He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago."

just heard from a reliable source who has been right consistently before, that sterling is leaving next month. .REALLY hope he is wrong. BR's team selections are baffling and his recent post match interviews are beyond ridiculous - he is losing credibility by constantly praising his players and their performances depite the fact it is blatant to EVERYBODY that neither performances nor results have been up to liverpool standards. they should have given kenny more time.2 wembley finals wasnt bad for first full season and he brought suarez in and would die for the club - kenny is smart enough where we know he would get it right in time.

Believable2 Unbelievable27

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interested side looking to a deal next month.}
