Any truth to the rumors that Roma is looking to sell Leandro Paredes and we are interested? He does offer dribbling and passing range that don't think any of our midfielders do. I think Klopp does want a ball carrier/ dribbler to drive at other teams in the double pivot like he had in Gundogan.

Believable2 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - Roma's Leandro Paredes may be sacraficed to add to the transfer budget this summer after a season on loan at Empoli. He has also been of interest to a number of clubs including Milan, Fiorentina, Chelsea and Manchester City. There has been an approach made by Monaco and an offer from Leicester. He has also been offered to Bologna on loan as part of a deal for Diawara.}

Not happening.

Like the look of him but were done with transfers apart from a lb now.

Still don't understand why we haven't signed a more defensive passing mid yet under bren or jurg.

Someone to dictate play, be calm in posessiom when in winning positions.

Like klavan has done in defence, makes everyone feel better haha

Hendos great but he's off the chains emotianally when the games going and can't seperate. It should come with time or maybe not as when rooney lost that passiom his hame left him aswel.

Just someone next to the cap, to settle it down.

Leandro don't know what his mentality is like but defiantly looks calm on the ball like klavan.

And he seems to love a hollywood ball to the right flank. Maybe a little partner for supermane.

Hes da fella now ;)

16 Aug 2016 04:05:29
I disagree on Parades who is not a ball carrier and is more of a defensive minded midfielder and there definitely are better players than him at LFC who play in the same position.

16 Aug 2016 07:14:39
Apparently we are not after a left back and a cm is more of a priority from what I hear, with milner moving into defence and Lucas leaving (if another midfielder is signed.

Agree1 Disagree6

16 Aug 2016 08:14:15
Can't see how a midfielder would be a priority. even if Lucas leaves and Milner doesn't play there, we have hendo can and Stewart who can play the deeper role, plus gruijic wijnaldum and possibly lallana, who I guess is going to get a few games there. You can say only Stewart is naturally defensive, but hendo is good in front of the back four too. That's enough players.

Agree6 Disagree4

16 Aug 2016 20:58:08
Klopp may not fancy Stewart, he isn't so young anymore and he has only shown glimpses, maybe Klopp doesn't think he's shown enough to be 1st choice. I don't think him or Chirivella have. Chirivella has been disappointing when he's had chances.

Just seen Christian Benteke, is now slight odds on favourite to move to Everton before Deadline Day. Guess it means a large bet has been placed or multiple bets etc. Just wondering if Eds know if Evertons interest in Benteke is genuine. Seems to be Koeman type striker. Think it'll be a great deal for us if we get our transfer fee back from last year. But also a good signing for the blue-noses.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Eris Kismet agreed a personal package with Besiktas after Crystal Palace stepped back and Juventus declared that they had no interest and asked him to stop bothering them about Benteke, Besiktas said want a loan with an option of buying - which might not suit Liverpool. Any agreement to buy him would need Liverpool to reduce the significant asking price and that might attract the likes of West Brom who are also looking for a striker.}

16 Aug 2016 01:16:12
Can't believe people on he will be happy selling any player to Everton . Why would you what to make them better .

Agree9 Disagree7

16 Aug 2016 08:15:31
Selling a player who Isn't good enough for us for 30 million? Feels fine to me.

Agree4 Disagree7

16 Aug 2016 09:45:31
To he scores 15 goals and helps Everton to finish ahead of us.

Agree1 Disagree7

16 Aug 2016 13:54:21
Surely we would be better selling someone who isn't going to start and releasing the funds and freeing up the wage bill for someone who is going to start

If we are concerns Everton are going to finish ahead of us that shows how far we have slipped.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Aug 2016 21:00:31
In the right club Benteke CAN BE a 20 goal a season striker, he was just the wrong signing for the wrong system. He hasn't just become a poor striker.

I can't see Everton finishing in the top 4, Benteke or no. They need to improve other areas of the squad even with Ashley Williams.

Hi eds. Any truth in the Coentrao rumours? Hearing from various Spanish sources that he's been offered to us on a one-year loan with option to buy? Also if not, is there any likelihood of a new left back being brought in? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I assume Twitter - as far as I know he is still going to be out injured for the next three months - maybe Moreno could cover for him?}

15 Aug 2016 16:31:34
According to the article I read he is injured until October, but the Spanish media outlet are lining us up for a loan move!
The fact the he's injured matters not so says the English paper "seeing as how there are items of furniture in Anfield with better positional sense than Alberto Moreno" which made me chuckle.

15 Aug 2016 18:59:34
Hahahahahaha Ed. spot on it should be the opposite way,

Agree0 Disagree4

15 Aug 2016 19:04:40
Is he that much better than Moreno anyway? Probably a BS story anyway given he's out till October.

Agree1 Disagree7

15 Aug 2016 19:48:31
eds are they looking at any left backs in particular or is it going to be milner and Moreno.

Agree1 Disagree4

15 Aug 2016 23:45:20
He's not that better than Moreno which is why he wasn't even picked for the Euros as Raphael is three times the player Coentrao is.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - You seem to have zero grasp of the game - he suffered a serious injury in April or May and was not available to be selected. Really, if you are simply going to fill up the pages with BS it would be better not to bother rather than embarrass yourself.}

16 Aug 2016 21:07:05
I believe Coentrao would of been Portugal's 1st choice LB if fit. I have admired him for years and would be a quality signing if not for his injury. Use Milner until January and see if he's available then, he's likely to be match fit. In all truth I would be more than happy if we left the LB and signed Medel. I think we've blown our chances of a decent LB now. Signing Medel would be the next best thing. Hugely strong, intelligent on the ball and in his reading of the ball plus he can pass. I honestly think he would help cover the gaps left by Moreno because he can read the game defensively.

Morning redmen,

What a start to the season! I don't know if my heart can take another 37 matches like that one.

Another weekend another loan update.

Awoniyi didn't make the squad as NEC Nijmagen kicked off their season with a 2-2 draw.

Flannaghan didn't make the squad as Burnley lost their season opener 1-0

Ryan Kent played the full 90 as Barnsley picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 win against derby.

Danny ward and Huddersfield have won 2 out of 2 after a 2-1 victory against Newcastle.
Newcastle missed a pen early in the second half but I am unsure if this was saved by ward or missed the target.

Adam bogdan kept his first clean sheet of the season as Wigan beat Blackburn 3-0.

Jack Dunn played for 88 minutes and scored the equaliser from the spot as Morecambe beat Blackpool 2-1.
That's 4 goals for the season already.

Ryan fulton and chesterfield ran out 3-1 winners against Swindon.
Swindon scored in the 88th minute to stop Fulton getting his first clean sheet of the season

And that's your lot.

Awoniyi has not been officially announced as a NEC player yet I think probably because of work permit issues.
