Hi Eds,
Back in January, Ed001 mentioned that 'top Premier League clubs' were looking at Alvaro Vadillo of Real Betis. Any idea if we're one of those teams that did/do have interest?
Cheers!

Believable5 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I know of one EPL club - and it was not Liverpool.}

Spurs I believe.

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

Hey eds, do you know of any interest in Wolfsburg's Vieirinha? Thanks

Believable4 Unbelievable18

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed I remember Son of Leverkusens name was mentioned a couple of times with us a while ago. Is he an option?

Believable14 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - A number of clubs have been looking at Bayer Leverkusen's Heung Min Son even though he only moved last summer. Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, CSKA Moscow and Juventus have all had representation at recent games.}

Cheers Ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, you put Liverpool twice, is that a cryptic way of telling us it's a "done deal"?

Agree0 Disagree0

I get it, I get it. It's all very hush hush. Gotcha!

Just been reading that Alexis Sanchez has had a big fall out with Barca and they have been hawking him around to all and sundry to see if there is any interest in the player for a summer move.
Ed001. I know you have said in the past you would like to see him in the red shirt of Liverpool and the reports suggest that we are one of the clubs Barca have approached to see if there is any interest.
With us seemingly have cooled on Kono do you see us having any prospective interest in him.
The reports indicate that Barca would be prepared to accept less than the money paid for him and his wages are pretty much in line with what we are paying atm (£90 000 a week in the report)

Approaching his best years IMO. although I would be worried with the amount of time he has spent injured.

Your thought's Ed001?

Believable17 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - I would like him, but I don't see it happening, we have not shown any interest in a while. By the way, he has never settled there and the club have never really stopped hawking him round, as Messi doesn't like the lad. Yes it really is that simple.}

Ed does messi have a lot of influence at Barcelona.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, who do you think chose the manager?}

Bloody hell ed didn't think he had that sort of clout

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they give him what he wants to keep him.}

Morning Ed's! Just a quick one, with southampton asking for more money for lallana do you think interest may go elsewhere? and if so who else are we looking at in that area that you know of? Also are we still keeping tabs on will huges? Thanks in advance!

Believable5 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - I have said enough about Lallana. Will Hughes is continuing to attract interest from several clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle. It remains unconfirmed but it is thought both Arsenal, Southampton and Manchester United might also be interested in Hughes at the right price. Derby has priced him at a level which will make a transfer very expensive for the buying club. I suspect it will become clearer after the play offs.}

There is some papers in my country (Bosnia) claiming that ManUTD send offer for Sead Kolašinac, Shalke LB (7 mill euros) .
Since he is Bosnian I follow he's career and he is really good young player, he have nickname Bosnian tank .
Any chance we'll look at him at some point since we need reinforcement in that area?

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am still of the opinion that there has been no offer for Kolasinac from Manchester United. Certainly there has been no interest from Liverpool at this time.}

14 May 2014 10:41:43
Javi Martinez would be a good signing. Stronger than Lucas defensively and his passing ability is up there with Gerrards. He can also play centre back.

He would be a perfect player for us, and I suspect he is available.

Red Rum

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - Javi Martinez will not be moving to Liverpool. Sorry.}

I absolutely love Martinez. Fantastic player.

I believe one of the Eds did say that Arsenal may have some interest, if Bayern were to make him available, and I think he'd do an amazing job for them. He's so good, it'd just be great to see him in the Prem!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are interested but I think they will struggle to get a deal in place for him.}

Thanks for the info, Ed.

Was it Lars Bender that Arsenal have as their main target? - would Martinez become more of a priority if they feel a deal could be struck?

He really would suit them down to the ground and they'd be in with a real shot next season with him in their team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It seems Bender is not available to tehm.}

14 May 2014 15:03:20
Interesting info as always, Ed02 - thanks for the response.

Agree0 Disagree1

Cost too much when we have Gerrard in the team. we won't be playing with two DM's unless BR wants to undo the progress made with the 433 or 41212 formations.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haych, He can play CB mate.

Personally I'd bring him in play centre back, but play him in midfield when Gerrard is rested or we need to add that extra defensive cover.

Ed do we still have interest in Coentrao?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No, he will sign a new deal or move elsewhere.}

Which fullbacks are we looking at in this moment in time Ed? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

14 May 2014 10:27:43
Eds, have Liverpool shown interest in Valdez? If we're going to sign a back up keeper, I think he's good considering he'll be free; though I know he'll demand a fee on signing.

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City, Monaco and Roma all have an interest in Valdes who may still look to the MLS and at other options.}

14 May 2014 09:18:07
Gday Eds, Ospina likely to be one of the many moving goalies this summer? Would you see him as an improvement on Mignolet?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Ospina has effectively left Nice already and is looking for a new contract. I understand that he is interested in a move to Atletico but they have shown no interest in him. There was talk in January of Club Atlas being interested in him.}

14 May 2014 09:10:36
Eds.in your opinion do you think will sign lallana or do you think soton will ask to much for him, also what position do you see him filling at Liverpool if signed .ynwa reddave

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Liverpool know what they need to do valuation wise and it may also take the player to request a transfer. Even then, Southampton may not want to sell or may wish to see what other offers they get for him.}

14 May 2014 08:45:18
Whats the possibility of William carvalho being a Liverpool player next season?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been recent approaches by Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. Chelsea seem to have passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. The asking price will likely beyond what Arsenal would want to pay and I suspect Manchester United would also baulk at that price unless they see an impending bid from Manchester City. Atletico and Inter would look for a different solution financially. Jorge Mendes was in Manchester in late January to talk to the club about him and was in the UK at the end of March talking to another club about two players. Whether or not he met with Manchester United or not I don't know. At best I would think they have told him that they would like to take the player and would like to sit down with Sporting and him to see if a deal can be done - but they know the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player earlier in the year but I am not aware of any interest right now.}

14 May 2014 06:09:27
Ed02. Had a look at all posts since you confirmed the offer made to lallana. Was wondering whether, to your knowledge. A) it's been rejected B) it's been mulled over with talks or C) it has been accepted.
Cheers

Believable9 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I explained that there is no way Southampton will accept the price offered nor the terms. If Liverpool want the player they need to match Southampton's valuation and possibly also have the player request a transfer.}

Eds do you know if the player has a desire to leave and join us and even put a transfer request in? I always read how happy he is at Saints.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has made it clear he would like to step up a level at some point.}

Looks like this may drag on a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said all along I don't think his heart is set on joining us?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - would us be Spurs?}

No ed. As explained a few times now there are around 5 & 6 of us that go under the name chiswick in this office!

Any news from Macca eds?
Havent heard from him since early jan.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I spoke to him a month or so ago and he had nothing new then. He is a very busy man these days.}

Hi this will be fact and not just a rumour. Saurez is being sold to Real Madrid for £68 million with Peruvian Cristian Benavente included in the deal with a buy back option. Roberto Firmino is going to be Saurez replacement for around £25 million.

Also trying to get in is William Carvalho, Marcos Rojas along with Adam Lalana. All 5 players in for an expected total of £100 million.

Which is good business as there is only a £40 million available to spend.

Believable14 Unbelievable158

I suspect somehow this is not fact and is just a rumour.

Can't stop laughing. Worst rumour ever! Aha ha ha, hilarious!

Probably sent in by a bitter blue or a Manc!
So much made up rubbish I won't even bother commenting on how much is wrong with this post. YAAWN

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Firmino has just signed a new contract and doesn't exactly have a scoring record to get excited about.
Cristian Benavente? What are we to do with him? put him in the reserves for a year and then out on loan?

Nonsense. Fact.

Liverpool's bid for Lallana did not match Southampton's £25million valuation of the player and has been rejected. Liverpool and Lallana are both desperate to make the signing before he travels to Brazil where his price could rise depending on his performances and Hodgson will block off any contact between Premier League clubs and the players in his squad. Liverpool will go back with a bid closer to Southampton's valuation in the coming days and the player will press the club to accept. The deal should be concluded before the weekend provided Southampton are willing to accept Liverpool's new, improved bid.

Believable28 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is going to happen unless Liverpool match the valuation set by Southampton. Not the other way around.}

This won't happen 25m is mad money for him. Why not get carvalho or himmels for that kind of money, at least we need them more so

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps we could be whatever we bid +£1?

Seriously though, one would have thought we had learned by now to quit trying to low ball other teams on what they want. Either pay what they're asking for or move on. Can't imagine this sort of thing is making us very popular to 'negotiate' with.

Agree1 Disagree0

Is the valuation £25 million like it is being reported sorry I no you don't like talkinga about money

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Well why ask?}

Paying what someone wants isn't "negotiation".

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no but Southampton have no need or desire to sell him. They have other assets they can sell to raise funds if need be, ones that are much easier for them to replace. Such as Shaw, great prospect though he is, and fantastic player he already is, they have Matty Targett coming through that has been higher rated than him all through the academy system. So they have a ready made replacement. They don't have a ready made replacement for Lallana, so it makes it a different matter. Just like when we held on to Suarez last summer because we were not selling him for anything less than we valued him at and refused to negotiate because we had no replacement available to drop in.}

To see if you would give a an answer instead of trying to have a go at every person I reapect you andd what you do but sometimes you can be a bit horrible to people when just asking simple question

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - so basically wasting our time with stupid questions so you can have a moan about us not wanting to answer? Then people wonder why we get annoyed when people do this kind of stupid thing all the time.}

It seems to me that the Eds ..................

{Ed002's Note - Another whining little vegetable that we don't need.}

Well no other Eds are as abrasive as you. Obviously everyone appreciates the work done here but you are so confrontational sometimes it's puzzling.

{Ed002's Note - I have to put up with cretins like you.}
