Exclusive!!!

Brendan Rodgers to make a £6million bid for Gael Kakuta (once the next big thing in the Chelsea youth ranks)

Junebug 777 (remember the name and the date:14/7/12)

When I first saw Kakuta I thought he was going to be awesome, he was quick and very tricky.

Then nothing.... then the loan to fulham (i think?) what happened to him?

I've heard some bad rumours but this takes the biscuit, we won't forget ya name george junebug michael name lol soooooo funny......

Other loans to other clubs is what happened.He next was loaned to Bolton and then Dijon.He looks like players we've had in our reserves.Predicted to have a glowing future and then faded away.I seriously doubt BR would consider spending anything like £6 million on him.

Not good enough to start for Bolton or Fulham when he was on loan there; so what makes you think he's good enough for us?

Is he the same lad they got the whole tapping up charge for then done nothing an loaned out

Now that the Borini deal has been done, will we follow up our interest in Salomon Rondon, or are we gonna let Chelsea get him on the cheap. At 22 years of age i would have thought a 18mill euro bid would have been well worth while. If his improvement continues i would have thought his value would only increase and if, as seems likely A. Carroll does depart a replacement will be needed.
I know that money is tight but to me age and price seem to be right, so why not give it a go?
vrcomp
Y.N.W.A.

If carroll doesn't depart then we will have the bottleneck effect and we will not see the best of any of our strikers.
derryred

You say you know "money's tight" then suggest we spend £18M. You've got a strange understanding of "money's tight".

Why does it seem likely Carroll will be leaving?If i was Andy Carroll i would feel really p***ed off that the manager underrated me and would want to prove my ability to play in his new style of passing football.OK it might well backfire and he cant play that style but at such a young age he can then think about his future more clearly and choose better options for teams that use a more English style of orthodox play that uses an out and out center forward.
Good luck to him whichever way it turns out.

Bill

Yes i do suggest that "money is tight" having not qualified for the champions league for the last few seasons, there for an 18 million euro bid is not an excessive amount for a team in the top half of the esp, when you see the top 4 making bids for players well over the 20 million mark. And as i said in the original post, if his improvement continues his value will only go up.
And yes Bill i agree, i wish him luck whatever he does, i personally would like to see him here for another season but if reports are to be believed if we can find a buyer he will be on his way.

Y.N.W.A.

May be I'm wrong, but I thought the general idea was Andy would be given another season (at least!), as Bill wrote he will need to prove he can play the passing game, but to develope that style he needs to be given the chance, not pushed out of the door. Andy doesn't strike me as the most mobile of strikers, but he must feel he has a point to prove, and should be wanting to convince Rodger's, and the club as a whole that he can do cut it at the club, and in this passing style of football. I'd like to see Andy come good and not just be regarded as this "battering ram" of a striker, give him a chance to develope his game, as he adds a different dimention to the team it is, but in time could be our biggest threat up front.... YNWA. Ant B

Andy Carroll is not the right player for lfc under Rodgers apart from his goals tally being poor his closing down of defenders is painfully slow.

hi Eds
Thanks alot on the great sight. Pls pls pls post this.

Im from South Africa and i love football, even now when i watch the Istanbul videos, they still bring tears to my face. Many of my fellow fans seem to be misguided in regards of the teams transfer policy , as far as i can remember , KD is the only mananger in our entire history to ever invest more than 30 mil in a player, and i highly doubt it will ever happen again. People come here and ask stupid questions involving Cavani , Munaiun, Lucas Moura, Muller , Hunterlar etc . The club is not interested in such players for many obvious reasons . Players like that are just hitmen with soccer balls . Liverpool is about heart and pride , and these 30 mil players dont have it . Heart won us the uefa in 2005 . And i believe that BR is looking in all the ryt places for players to get us to the top .

trust in BR and YNWA .

Ciah out , whats ur take Eds ?

I too would like to congratulate the EDs on their 20/20 vision.

The reason we paid £30m+ for a player lately and haven't in the past is down to a thing called inflation. Liverpool have in the past "broke the bank" to get Kenny Dalglish a british record £440k until Man Utd bought McClair for 500K, remember F Torres £26m Jeez how much did we pay for R Keane (only ever a squad player. If your going to lecture us on our history at least know it.

I would say Munian And huntellar are realistic if we made an attempt.

Think your all attacking this poster by looking at it wrong. Think what he's trying to say, despite not being 100% valid, is that we don't need to break the bank for players and that its not so much the player but the effort that the player gives...

I agree with you totally the only sad thing about football these days is that money is taking over the title is being bought

Jpow_LFC

Money does buy success but only in the right hands. Comolli was not the right man to give £100 million to. FSG have had there fingers burnt.

Ed, I read an article that was taken from the Daily Sport from Barcelona. They say that contract talks between Barca and Tello have stalled. Have you heard anything about it?

Thanks mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - No Blair.}

I would love for liverpool to sign him bt doubt it could happen this year

majestic69

To me the daily sport is a tittie paper not a rag that gives out info.....

14 Jul 2012 18:48:44
Hi eds is there any interest in Diego(Wolfsburg)
Impressed a lot and won't cost a fortune because Magath wants him gone {Ed002's Note - Try 14 Jul 2012 13:45:53.}

Filthy attitude not worth the agro he brings
LeeWils

14 Jul 2012 18:41:36
Is there any news of any players going out on loan? Especially to West Brom with Steve Clarke there, they need a left back for example and they're a bit short in centre mid {Ed002's Note - I would suspect after the tour there might be a few going.}

Have heard West Brom are interested in Spearing

14 Jul 2012 18:27:08
Hi Eds... been on this site for years originally the Football-rumours site... amazing how big its become! Good work

My question: Whatever happened to Xerdan Shaqiri? He was meant to be one of the next big things? Any news on him moving this summer?

Cheers

Bernowatson {Ed002's Note - He has moved to Bayern Munich.}

Keep up to date my freind ,he signed for bayern in january

He is one of the big things!..if his country had got to the euros he would of ran a muck...

14 Jul 2012 18:16:27
Hey Ed's, Macca. Could a player plus cash deal be an option for Allen? Maybe an Adam or Pacheco? Thanks.

Lewis the Red {Ed002's Note - It may be possible but it would very much depend on what Laudrup wants to do and he is very much his own man. He was confident in bolstering his squad with a couple or three choice hand picked loan players from relegated sides around Europe.

14 Jul 2012 18:09:34
Hi Ed i have a lot of rumour that lfc will make a bid of 10m in next few days. And what u reckon about carol downing adam spearing. Will they stay or leave if they does leave do u expect there replacements will bring at the club.
Thanx.
Great work. All The Eds doin grt job. Love u all. {Ed002's Note - A great rumour but folks like to know who the bid is for. I am sure there will still be some coming and going of players.}

14 Jul 2012 18:06:46
Evening Ed, if I said the name claudio yacob what could you tell me.
(please no sarcasm Ed002 I'm after some genuine info if you have any)
Thanks

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Practically nothing aside from some notes I have which say Arsenal, Reading and Cagliari were interested around January and West Brom and Fiorentina are interested in now.}

Cheers Ed, and well done on playing that one with a straight bat I was so sure you were going to use some of your usual comic genius (almost on a par with the great Ronnie Barker) to make my question look stupid!
By the way any more cryptic clues for me?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Actually I can give you one as he has now moved elsewhere so there is nothing for anyone to bleat about. Romulo who has moved to Spartak.}

{Ed002's Note - Sorry Chris. The foul abuse has returned.}

Got to ask Chris, are you the same Chris in Tamworth who e mails talksport daily? {Ed002's Note - Yes he is.}

14 Jul 2012 17:45:47
Man City are looking to make a bid for Daniel Agger and are willing to swop Joleon Lescott plus cash. I don't see B.R. being interested, but my dad just been in Manchester and this is what the city fans are talking about. Have you heard anything about this eds?
vrcomp
Y.N.W.A. {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

That would be disastorous. skrtel and the dagger at the back are immense.
the wise one

No chance. It would need to be £30-£35 million. And they can forget about Lescott. Awful player.

This rumour was started a few weeks ago by a lazy journalist who couldnt be a**sed getting out of bed.

Lesscott is probably on a par with Agger defesivley but does not offer as much bringing the ball out and setting up attacks from midfield plus Aggers goal scoring ability. I think it would be a bad move from LFC to consider but of course it depends on the amount of money Man City thinks is appropriate compensation for LFC to allow it to proceed.
Lets not forget there are not that many attaking center backs in Europe that come cheap!

14 Jul 2012 17:45:34
Hi Ed,
Just a question, now psg has pretty much signed Ibrahamovic and has already signed Lavezzi, could Liverpool be interested in Kevin Gameiro? {Ed002's Note - No. Lille and Malaga showed interest but he looks very likely to join Valencia.}

14 Jul 2012 16:59:32
Eds,
Have we made approach to sign Joe Allen?
At the age 21/22 would be a good addition and price tag 10M is just right price. Hope we sign him.

I very much would like to hear your thoughts on Joe Allen Eds.

KamalHisham'LFC {Ed002's Note - I would suspect that Swansea are aware of potential if not specific interest given the statement that Laudrup has made. Equally an approach would not have gone via the manager.}

Cant buy swansea players as part of Rodgers deal

14 Jul 2012 16:52:40
Hi eds, not about Liverpool but have you heard of any interest from anyone in axel witsel? {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Witsel from Manchester United, AC Milan and Real Madrid over recent months although Manchester United's interest in the player will have gone by now.}

Good source told me Real Madrid will likely make a strong move for him.

14 Jul 2012 16:41:58
any chance us bringing back anelka to cover bellamys spot in the side {Ed002's Note - None.}

14 Jul 2012 16:27:05
Hey ed's. Is there any truth in us being interested in Alvaro Negredo as a replacement for Carroll? {Ed002's Note - Negredo was offered to Chelsea last year but I understand not for sale right now unless a significant bid is made. There has been some interest from Malaga and Arsenal may look to Negredo as an alternative to Adrian Lopez to avoid becoming involved with any "bidding war" with Spurs if they are needing to replace Van Persie. Liverpool could well become interest if a replacement for a departing player is needed and the money is available.}

There are only 2 strikers i would like to come in for Carroll,the 1st is Llorente and the 2nd is....................wait for it.................................................Torres,probably gonna get shot down for that but hey ho,i reckon fans would take him to their heart again,if he could regain his old form,i dont reckon he's happy at chelski either to be fair :)

If you look solely on performances at the European Championships, then Andy Carroll is, by far and away, the better option.

Id say Torres by far outperformed all the names mentioned even with limited time on the pitch. And no, I dont want him back.

14 Jul 2012 15:26:28
Eds do you think Downing will stay or get sold and if so how much do think aprox? {Ed002's Note - I doubt he will leave.}

Why does everyone keep comin up with crap why would they sell after 1 season really get a grip guys

Maybe because he's useless and offers nothing to the team. Whats the point of keeping him.

We all know one of the main reasons for Kenny's and Comolli's departure was the poor performance of our last summer signings. I still think Adam and Hendo were alright, but Downing was perhaps the worst and failed to make any impression. it will be good for him and for us to offload him sooner than later.

I hope Downing will stay for the new season. He will fit in with the new type of play BR is bringing in.People need to get off his back and support the lad and give him some encouragement. He's one of of our players isn't he? iIf any player is not doing his job it will be noticed by the manager. Its not really a reply to your post but i think you would like him to be moved on. Unfortunately it would cost a lot to replace him and LFC do not have that amount unless they sell.

Bill

Downing ,Adam,cant see them getting any better TBH money badly spent .
Hendo and Andy 1 season to improve or theyre gone Andy seems to be getting better ,Hendo I have my doubts ,
Stevie G rates seems him so we will see .

McGurk

14 Jul 2012 15:10:33
What is the latest on Downing? I have heard he is off. With QPR and Stoke interested.

14 Jul 2012 14:09:38
Hi ed002

I know the moussa sissoko rumour, has been blowing hot and cold over the past 18 months or so, however it seems to be rearing its head again...

Do you know if its based on any new information or is it just an old story being re-hashed?

Cheers

Ray {Ed002's Note - To be honest Ray I did not know that it was back. I cannot see anything new in respect of Liverpool. If he moves, Roma seems a likely destination still. If Liverpool are interested, a great buy.}

14 Jul 2012 13:40:49
There any chance that Liverpools interest in Griezmann being rekindled also a possible bid for Schurrle happening? {Ed002's Note - Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now. The kid has said that he has no plans to leave Spain this summer. Bayer Leverkusen may be willing to sell Schurrle if the player wishes to leave but for now they are keen to keep him. There has been interest from Chelsea for about a year and following the departure of Kalou and a failed bid it is certainly possible they may now push for the player by offering more. There is unsubstaniated interest from Inter as well.}

14 Jul 2012 13:35:27
Hey was, amazing site and ridiculously addictive, any reason why different media such as papers and websites are reporting arsenal are favourites to sign Dempsey as lfc are looking at other targets? Seems to not make sense as it appears Dempsey IS in fact a big target for us no? More media bull or something in it eds?? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what meadi you are referring to, but with Dempsey being available there was bound to be interest from elsewhere.}

Which websites you looking on then or have you got paranoia?

Mighty reds

Liverpool ARE looking at other targets. Its all about getting the right balance.

14 Jul 2012 13:28:54
There have been several questions regarding the potential signing of a DM as Lucas is still a few weeks away from full fitness. I understand that Yann M'Vila is not a possibility but was wondering if the club are looking at, or have ever looked at, Toulouse's Etienne Capoue? I know that he has been linked to Arsenal and that they may have the advantage in any transfer? Thanks in advance for any reply. {Ed002's Note - Etienne Capoue has been of confirmed interest to Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Schalke, Barcelona, Arsenal and Lyon.}

14 Jul 2012 12:56:31
Anuva brilliant answer ed. A general question--I'll understand if the eds don't have time to reply--but let's say a £10m bid came in for player X. The player was bought for twice that amount last year, but Rodgers doesn't see him featuring prominently in his plans. Would FSG sanction the move, on the grounds that it's best for the club, or would they be at all concerned that it might cast doubt on their judgment in making such a heavy loss over such a short period of time? {Ed002's Note - If players are sold the owners will want to recover as much money as they can - but time comes to cut losses and move on. It would likely mean less re-invested. They have already been stung by the lesson learned. It won't happen again.}

Thanks ed, all your time and effort is much appreciated.

Eds, correct me if im wrong, but havent FSG only spent 20-30m net? yes we have money invested in players and will probably lose more on them....but still....not much considering todays market prices for players. {Ed002's Note - You are wrong.}

14 Jul 2012 12:52:13
Whats the latest of Stefan Jovetic? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Roma and Spurs did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if the price is acceptable. Juventus are being pushed a little in his direction as well.}

14 Jul 2012 12:18:33
Hi eds, do you think allen will come to us if we offer around 10m for him? also what is your opinion on him?
Thankyou! {Ed002's Note - I think Swansea will want more - the player is well though of.}

I think he's worth about 15M atm. Do you think that may be enough ed? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

Maybe a cash +player deal with Spearo or Adam involved?

Unlikely anything will happen til much later in the window. BR will want to wait until Swansea say he's for sale or someone else comes in for him and have a bid accepted etc. Tentative talks for a few weeks before any movement.

If they want more than £10 million, then forget it. He's worth about £5m or £6m. I'm sick of Liverpool being ripped off and overpaying for players.

Well he was the 6th best passer of the year with 90.1% and only 22, he must be overpriced because he is a future star with alot of potential of becoming the next xavi or iniesta

The next Xavi or Iniesta. No chance. Standards are slipping if we think Joe Allen will improve us.

And downings amazing stats from villa (most crosses and best % cross completion) obviously meant he was also a star?!

Allen is an alright player who shows potential but not worth 10m.

Yeah i'd only pay 5m he isnt as good as they make out...

The combination of allen and britton at swansea last season were a genuine comparison to iniesta and xavi on passing rates, the comments valuing allen under 10m are pretty ignorant really. 10m would be a bargain, swansea are more likely to want closer to 20m and in todays market they have every right to. he's at least twice the player hendo is, and we kinda set our own precident there...

14 Jul 2012 12:09:00
hey eds i heard we have been linked with lewis holtby what are your opinions on him and have you heard anything about a possible deal the lad said he wants to play in england one day, and is there any chance of a player profile on him
cheers
laylow {Ed002's Note - You can go to the Player Profiles and submit a request. Arsenal may be interested in Holtby, but that is all I am aware of.}

The lad has stated he would love to play for Everton (his dad is a scouser) , i know this doesn't
rule out a move for him by any means , but i don't
see it myself .

JR

I think steven gerrard`s cousin was a red but he played for toffees.so cut it out. we have the same chance of signing him which they have.

Comparing Anthony Gerrard to Lewis Holtby is not a good comparison. Paul was picked up as a youngster. Lewis Holtby is 21 and has openly said he would love to play for Everton. It is not impossible but highly unlikely. Didi Hamann had the same attitude when Moyes rang him. He said something a long the lines he is a Liverpool fan and also certainly would not disrespect Liverpool fans by moving to Everton.

My Didi point is irrelevant in the same way as your Anthony Gerrard point. I was just reiterating how pointless a statement can be.

The Irrelevant One.

If he wants to play for Everton then let him go there. He obviously has no ambition and doesn't want to win any medals in his career.

And Liverpool have ambition? One trophy isn't ambition. It shows Liverpool can beat a championship side like any premier league club can.

Ok smartarse, how many trophies have Liverpool won since Everton last won one ? No trophies for 17 years.

Brendan Rodgers is ready to fork out the £22 million asking price to land Carlos Tevez, could be bad news for Andy Carroll if Tevez agrees terms
BobtheRed

Not a chance. His wages are ridiculous.
FowlerGod.

Absolute nonsense! Too expensive,excessive wages,and a proven bad influence wherever he goes.Great ability for sure he won't be joining us.

Is Tevez really the kind of personality we want at the club? Personally.... I dont think so. He'll be a distraction in my view. Great player, but a pain in the proverable.

No chance, wages well to high plus he is a k**b

Really!! Can we afford £200,000 a week wages {Ed0

No chance what so ever of getting tevez we need to get real guys he wants champs league footy something we dont hae these days. jameslfc

No chance, think you just read the back of the star and changed AC for Liverpool

Thats not true. its about Milan having to fork out 22mil if they want tevez.

Can we afford his wages god sake guys your saying like we're poor yes we could afford his wages I mean we are Liverpool fc for god sake it's just this rumours just a load of crap

Can we afford his wages yes will we pay his wages NO {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not in a position to be paying £200k per week to one player in wages.}

I'd love to see what kind of person presses the 'agree' tab...
Tevez?!! Funny.

Eddie

Utter Nonsense, he is a with no loyalty and just wants the money.

Rodgers maying be willing but FSG won't be, so unless Brendan has a 'rainy day fund' tucked away at the back of his desk drawer Tevez won't be coming.

Hi, Love your site
I just want to know whats the latest on Aquilani? thanks {Ed002's Note - If a club makes an offer acceptable to Liverpool then I would expect him to leave - particularly if it is a club on or near the Med.}

I dont understand why we dont offer aquilani plus cash in exchange for gaston ramirez

Maybe because they consider Aquilani worthless.

Aquaman is not leaving this time just wait and see his impact

I read his english is not good, so Fabio may help him settle this time around. Pre-season last year there were many fans of Aqua after a couple of good performances. {Ed002's Note - Won't take that many performances to trigger another payment to Roma.}

Eds, Macca is it likely we can expect anuva signing before we go on tour?

Basy {Ed002's Note - Anuva has no interest in a move to Liverpool and will continue his career in Peru. Unless Macca has heard different.}

Love it!! anuva has an younger brother who is also on youtube i think called anudda. check him out!

Quality . I have heard though Bruv he may come. Bruv has scored 12 goals in 15 games for the Dominican state of Russia

Brilliant response! Ed 02 just made my morning! Oh how the English language is failing.

Haha class ed. 'another' would help :)

Danny

I believe our interest in him has cooled , and that
we're now looking at signing Anuva from Serie A.

welcome to LFC Borini, thanks for the accurate info Macca.. yet again, and ED002 you are a legend.. any 100% facts on when Allen & Dempsey will sign? {Ed002's Note - I think that work is currently in hand on the Dempsey front.}

Do you think Arsenal might come in for Dempsey? Based on his supposed preference for Champions League and London, I'd imagine if they did that'd ruin our chances of getting him? Cheers!

DP {Ed002's Note - Other clubs may well be interested. Arsenal is certainly one thought.}

Dempsey looks nailed on to sign before we go to the US, meaning within 3 or 4 days.

14 Jul 2012 11:23:17
Hi ed002, i just read your response to chris in tamworths questions regarding ramirez where you mentioned that liverpools interest could be rekindled if suarez was to leave. I understand it would only be your opinion, but why do you think he would not be considered while suarez is here? Surely we would be a better team with both players and playing with luis would be a selling point for him. Could it be cost related?

Thanks in advance and apologies if you have answered this already

Danski {Ed002's Note - The thing is that Liverpool have not shown interest in the player, have not spoken to Bolgna or put in any sort of bid.}

LOL....another expert avoidance of answering a question directly!

Why not though? He is the type of potential class we are supposed to be looking for. I can't understand what we are doing. If there is a chance he would sign for us we should atlest put an offer together for him

The reasons are based purely on finances, there are limited funds to spend, there will be more players leaving, there will not be too many arriving - this is not going to be a fruitful summer.

14 Jul 2012 11:22:04
Hi Ed, Whats the situation with Moussa Sissoko? Heard he's available for around £9M due to only have a year to run on his contract. Would surely be a bargain and could be Liverpools yaya toure.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has previously attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over last summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko remains available but Liverpool have seemed to have long lost interest. Right now I would have to say Roma are most likely to get their man this summer - if he does indeed move.}

14 Jul 2012 11:00:14
Morning Ed I know you're going to hate me for asking this but with all the talk about Ramirez over the last couple of weeks I'd just like some clarification. I think he'd be a great signing but can you give me your opinion on the situation, are we actually trying to sign him or is there really no story at all.
Thanks

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - Liverpool had looked at him last year but there was no follow up or offer made for the player. Bologna will not now listen to offers less than 20M euros. However, it remains most likely that Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Bologna have held discussions with several interested teams (Manchester City, Wolfsburg, Napoli and Juventus). The talks with Juventus do continue and after Wolfsburg met with the player's agent talks are now being organised between Bologna and Wolfsburg. Gaston Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt said in early July that Juventus and Wolfsburg are interested in his client and that he knows of no on going interest in the player from other Italian clubs. However, since saying that it is clear that Napoli has returned to Bolgna with a proposal. I have postualted that interest from Liverpool could be rekindled if Suarez leaves.}

Postulated - a word revived by Ed02. lol
Ramirez is a skilful player but inconsistent. Never worth 20m of anyone's money.

Gav the Red {Ed002's Note - It seems a lot of folks think "postulated" is something to do with me letting them touch my ass.}

Why is the potential signing of Ramirez dependent on the exit of Suarez when they both fulfil different roles in the team? Surely having them both at Liverpool would be more beneficial?

SMc {Ed002's Note - It is not dependent.}

Morning EDs
Do you think we will be looking at a defensive midfielder, with Lucas not yet due back and people expecting Spearing to move on?
Also what is the situation with Sergio Canales? Do Valencia have the option to buy the player during his loan period?

PM {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers about a DM player. Canales missed most of the season with a crutiate injury but remains at Valencia. He is on a loan to buy deal and will not be moving to Liverpool next season. I suspect that the player has no interest in a move away from Spain as demonstrated by the previous interest of Manchester City and Arsenal being rejected.}

Hi eds possible daniel Sturridge might be on his way to Liverpool in an 10million pound deal {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool show enough interest to make an acceptable bid then Chelsea will not stand in his way.}

Can't see Rodgers wanting Sturridge. The lad can't get his head up. So imo no chance.
kidmillions

I wouldn't even think of buying him at that price. More like £4 million. He's not that good.

Rodgers proberably worked with Sturridge. maybe {Ed002's Note - Not at Chelsea.}

morning eds quite happy with the the borini signing think there is potential there and goals hopfully.My question is do you see karim frei of fulham possibly being a target young looks to have lots of potential.Admittedly not seen a great deal of the lad but have been very impressed with the bits i have.Obviously liverpool trying to build for the future with the amount of youth in our ranks.Feel he would be agreat addition.Maybe part of a player exchange i know quite rare but in your oppinion is it a possibility. tomo 10 {Ed002's Note - I know that the Fulham fans were impressed with Frei initially but concerned that all too often there was no "end product". Copenhagen and now Galatasaray are trying to lure him away. I suspect he will stay in London.}

Borini sounds like a good signing. I've heard that Liverpool are interested in signing Iker Muniain from bilbao, he's an absolutely brilliant player at 19 years of age and would fit perfectly into BR's style of play. Will it be possible or do you know of any interest? Also, whats going on with the Gaston Ramirez deal? {Ed002's Note - Muniain would be very expensive. There is no change in respect of Ramirez.}

I am an LFC fan living in Manchester. Heard that he has been at Carrington having a medical I'm afraid, so looks like he ain't coming to us

Not true, muniain has not been to carrington, spurs have shown an interst in the player along with adrian lopez!

Jason Cundy on Talksport is saying Borini is a very good player and he wishes he never left Chelsea, he also said he would definitely get in Chelsea's first team so chill everyone it seems that he's going to be pretty good.

Well if Jason Cundy says so, it must be true... .(not a clue who Jason Cundy is)

Jason cundy is the biggest clown on talksh**e and that takes some doing . He's good mates with john terry which says it all really {Ed002's Note - So this means you are not satisfied with Borini and don't think he is good enough for Liverpool. Or are we just back to the natural position of spewing hate at everyone who is not a Liverpool player?}

The boy has pace to burn, strong and direct, good with both feet, clever and deadly in front of goal.. His nickname is 'The Killer'

Matt

Alan shearer, jason cundy and numerous other players have all come out and said chelsea should've worked harder to keep him. huge potential.

I haven't seen enough of borini to say whether he is good enough for Liverpool , I put my trust in br judgement , but I have heard cundy enough to know he's a clown

Cundy and "Talksh!te", talking intelligently ? {Ed002's Note - Clearly there is going to be a faction that does not want Borini at the club. I would have hoped the guy could of had a chance.}

Statistically the 23rd best striker in Serie A last season, 118th best player in Serie A last season...

Hi all just had good information tha lfc will sign Adam Johnson Clint Dempsey and Scott Sinclair there r main targets From an ex lfc player thats all plus he don't think Carroll will go anywhere

Isn't there a clause in Rodgers contract not allowing to buy any Swansea players for a year.

Would Adam Johnson and Scott Sinclair BOTH be main targets now that Borini has signed?

First of all br can do what he likes
there is no contract,
plus swansea would never turn a good offer down.
BR feels we need two young exciting wingers sorry to say mate borini was on that list of main targets but we already own him so y do i need to state his name borini is a striker

Hi Ed's
Love the site
Do you rate Pacheco highly or do you think we should sell him because despite being a prodigy wen he was younger I haven't seen him play for ages because he's been on loan {Ed002's Note - Much was expected of him but he failed to put the effort in which is what led to the loan. I suspect he will leave if a buyer can be found.}

Do not agree with ed002, the lad never got a chance, just like Aquaman, we need all of them as we blew so much monies on the four flops, we have to stick a hand in the academy and pull out some brilliant players we have been grooming.

Eds or macca is there any truth in the coutinho rumours. {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through last summer. He had a few starts early in the season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they would want to sell - hence the loan to Espanyol. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. I suspect he will stay with Inter this summer and see how it goes next season.}

Eds, if AC Milan really do want big Andy, would we be out of our depth to ask for Pato in exchange, plus us giving them a few quid obviously? As I know they've been looking to offload him since January. Don't hate, just asking. Cheers.

Welshred {Ed002's Note - You can always ask but would Pato be interested in a move to Liverpool and Carroll in a move to Milan?}

I like carrol but i would swim there with a kayak tied to my back with carrol on it if they offered a swap deal like that and then swim back with pato in the kayak

Pato gets injured driving over a speed bump or in slight turbulence he couldn't fit in in the prem. I reckon Carroll has got till Christmas to prove he can play for Rodgers .

Benzo

We'll have Pato plus cash. They owe us for the Aquilani farce.

14 Jul 2012 00:31:55
hi eds, do you expect us to bolster our goalkeeping options this season? {Ed002's Note - Gulacsi must be considered but if Reina, Jones or Doni leave someone may come in or be promoted.}

14 Jul 2012 00:26:25
ed whats happening with wilson is he going or staying.also do you believe dempsey will be a straight cash swoop or a player plus cash.thanks DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - I am sure BR will be considering Wilson and the options available. I have explained the situation with Dempsey but Fulham may propose something involving Carroll - but would Carroll want to move to West London.}

I thought Wilson was great in the film Castaway with Tom Hanks and should of won an Oscar:)

hi eds with ac wanting to get rid of Sneijder so bad could we not make an offer? hes the type of player that would improve us alot and wold give ac cash and us a creative player like stevie

thanks cj
{Ed002's Note - Considering transfer fee and wages I would very much doubt Sneijder will be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

It'd be a shame if we gave ac money for sneijder, because he plays for inter...d'oh!

Thought he played for Inter?

Time to unleash suso on the premiership with lucas and gerrard in midfield.Tommy Irish Red.

No fence, Eds, but Rodgers said we could match the wages with every club in the Premier League, so only the red would be a problem.

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - If Rodgers said that he was joking. Manchester City have a wage bill of something like £60M more than Liverpool - say 40% higher. Liverpool are never going to be able to match that.}

I dare say that Inter will be very p**sed off if AC are actively trying to sell off their players for them :)

AC are so conniving, trying to sell off their arch rivals players

Knowing our recent transfer dealings with Italian clubs, it would be just like us to give AC Milan cash for one of Inter's players.

14 Jul 2012 09:36:30
Do you think we could make a move for Holtby Ed? Would rather him than Dempsey tbh. {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely.}

14 Jul 2012 09:34:40
Eds International Business Times (IBT) reporting that as well as Borini and Dempsey, we are also targetting Alavaro Negreda from Sevilla. Any truth in this from your end?
AnotherFalseDawnAtAnfield {Ed002's Note - Negredo was offered to Chelsea last year but I understand not for sale right now unless a significant bid is made. There has been some interest from Malaga and Arsenal may look to Negredo as an alternative to Adrian Lopez to avoid becoming involved with any "bidding war" with Spurs if they are needing to replace Van Persie. Liverpool could well become interest if a replacement for a departing player is needed and the money is available.}

Ed is there any interest from us in adrian lopez? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Borini signed =good buisness
dempsey will be signing soon
allen will not be signing for l.pool
a.johnson is a target as long as personal
agreements can be reached.
T.walcott is not a l.pool target
a winger WILL be signed but apart from AJ
everything is beign kept shtum

With kuyt and maxi gone and carroll and bellamy on the verge of leaving.. Do u thnk we might sign a striker and a winger soon ?

If everything is "beign kept shtum" how do you know all this info?

You say "apart from AJ
everything is being kept shtum."
Which is totally contradicting everything you previously said?
Which means you can't possibly know anything.
kidmillions

All Liverpools hard work to keep everything behind closed doors an you come along and ruin it :)

You seem to know a lot if everything is kept shtum!

BR is NOT looking for a bloody winger, seeing as he doesn't play bloody wingers! He's after forwards, an attcking CM (probably Allen to add to Gerrard, Henderson and Aquilani if he stays) and possibly a LB. That's it. With so many young players ready to emerge and so many top players already here he won't be buying many. He will want 5 players to fight for the 3 forward positions, and only has Suarez and Borini as definites so far, meaning that is priority. The speculation about Dempsey and Sturridge is much closer to the mark.

Sssshhhhh everything is kept shtum although you have the blueprints to the lfc's transfer targets this summer :)

We need a winger we only have downing (if bellamy leaves) to play on the wing now as kuyt and maxi have gone. we need pace!

I think he means everything is being kept shtum in regard to wingers, not overall targets

Hi Eds, just wondering is there any chance of us signing Eljero Elia? Fantastic player with great pace I thought {Ed001's Note - he has just moved to a new club, not a fantastic player anyway, average with great pace would be a much more apt description.}

13 Jul 2012 22:42:01
Eds, whats the update on schurlle? chelsea had a bid rejected...we had a look at him last year is there a possibility?Also hypia being there could we be intrested in any other players apart from schurlle as well?? {Ed001's Note - I don't know, sorry.}
