Ed002, whats goin on with Poulsen mate? A link on lfctv saying his agent has said his future is at anfield? I hope this is his agent talkin crap 'cause hes a useless overpaid failure.
Cheers
LFC1802. {Ed009's Note - he has stated several times that he wants to stay and "fight for his place". I have no doubt he enjoys his wages, but if a good offer comes in I think we can still rest assured he will be sold. I apologise but I am not so sure Ed002 is round at the minute.}

Hi eds, do you think that the rumour of Bangura brothers is possibly true? {Ed009's Note - they have been linked with every club under the sun - one week it is Newcastle, then us, the next Chelsea. I see no reason why not - but for the fact I know of no solid interest.}

14 Jul 2011 23:23:02
Highly rated USA international Marc Pelosi has claimed that he has commanded interest from Liverpool ahead of a proposed transfer.

rate the possibility of: cissoko, a.johnson, mata, park chu-young and g.cahill. thanks {Ed009's Note - Cissokho is the most likely out of those players as we have definite interest and he is available.

Adam Johnson is probably the second most, as he makes sense to me as a purchase. Mancini wants rid and he wants out. Previously it would have made no difference but Mancini has more power in his position since he won the FA Cup and secured a top 4 berth.

I don't think Mata is likely, Valencia are reluctant to sell and we don't appear to have taken any chance we had for the player. Park Chu Young is possible - thats if we buy a striker full stop though. Cahill is, for me, over priced. But I suppose he fits Kenny and FSG's policy to an extent. I am trying to phase out the 'rating out of ten' baloney.}

14 Jul 2011 21:12:27
Hey eds

With downing coming in, if we decide to go for another winger, would do you think it would be?

Maybe Vargas/Johnson/Bastos? {Ed009's Note - Perhaps Johnson. Maybe someone cheaper if not.}

14 Jul 2011 21:08:21
any truth in Cissokho edging closer to Liverpool Ed's? have Liverpool made a bid for him yet? {Ed009's Note - no bid as of yet as far as I know. We are interested and he is available for a fair price. That is where we are; we will have to act soon to beat competition from Roma and Juve.}

14 Jul 2011 21:04:25
Eds you said earlier there was a bit of interest in cole do you know which teams they are ? {Ed009's Note - I think Hamburg are. QPR also held interest. I don't personally believe the player will leave necessarily either. He has certainly proved he has stuff left to give in the friendlies so far (albeit there has been but one.)}

14 Jul 2011 19:15:09
Ed do u know whether the rumours about higuain are legit ? also whats the latest on cissokho ? {Ed009's Note - I think that Higuain is very unlikely to join. Nothing has changed with regards to Cissokho. He is a very good player who we are interested in, and he could be bought for a reasonable price. Both Juventus and Roma are also interested in him too though - so we must act fast.}

14 Jul 2011 21:18:55
Kenny has cut his china trip short becsuse of Cissokho who is in liverpool and is about to sign. All the Higuain rumours are bull. If he signs then it would leave either him or Carroll on the bench and I doubt either will agree to this.

14 Jul 2011 21:51:27
Higuain will not be signing. I have very good source at madrid and along with ramos and pepe, higuain is a very trusted member of the team.

Mourinho has said privately that none of these are to be sold with him in charge or he goes. Believe meon this. Higuain will be leading the line for madrid next season regardless of who they buy.

Hi ed whats your thought on lee walace comming in at left back ? {Ed046's Note - Lee Walace the Hearts player!? im positive you will be able to get a better left back than him and he has not had the best of careers as he is usually injured, he made about 10 appearances last season.

Ed, Any truth in the Higuain rumours? {Ed046's Note - there has been some speculation surrounding this rumour but at the present there has been no bid accepted for Higuain by any club

14 Jul 2011 20:07:04
I cannot believe it Higuain could in fact be coming to Anfield as Liverpool and real madrid have agreed a 26 million fee. This will be announced next week because liverpool do not want the Higuain signature to be taken away from them and because they are in Asia at the moment.

Liverpool plan to continue to add to their Anfield squad and are preparing a bid for Barcelona attacker Jeffren.

Barcelona are after a quick sale and some sources believes that means Pep Guardiola could accept as little as
7m (£6.1m) for the youngster.

2 signings to be announced tomorrow:

Downing and Doni. Hearing maybe Cissokho too.

Then expect Baines/Cissokho (next week), Cahill/Dann and a pacey winger or striker to come in.

couple of thoughts on poulsen and kenny returning:
poulsens agent is probably trying to boost the wages on offer by stating his client wants to stay with LFC, he knows he isnt gonna get games, he knows he is not well thoughT of by the fans and he knows he wont be getting playing bonuses plus his agent wont get another signing fee, its a negotiating tactic, thats all.. he's playing out east as he is on shop display, dont worry i really think he'll be gone
kenny wants to make every new player welcome, he has targetted Downing and got the player, he is showing great diplomacy and man management by being there when the lad signs, its just good manners, the liverpool way of things. start a new job and the manager is there to greet you, makes you feel wanted, valued and part of the team, if that manager has flown back from the far east to be there you will run through brick walls for him.

Ok, so I'm not easily fooled, and can honestly say I knew there was no chance of re-signing Xabi Alonso, but once again the rumours have sparked up, and they're more convincing. Even Kenny said we'd be seeing some familiar faces... Ed's can any of you clarify that's not the case? Also, do you know anything on Leighton Baines? Some more rumours as usual, this being the reason plus another signing (Not Downing) on why Dalglish is returning early from the Asia tour.
Would be appreciated if you could post this within the rumours page with your feedback.
Thanks in advance. :)

Eds? really pleased with the impending capture of Downing However do you believe with this our interest in Bastos will fade, or could we yet see another bid for the player?

Thanks

R@ {Ed046's Note - i believe that the capture of downing will stop the bastos interest

Liverpool are in talks with Man City with regards to Roque Santa Cruz. You heard it from me first

14 Jul 2011 18:02:48
Kuyt, Johnson, Carroll, Maxi, Lucas, Meireles, Adam, Downing, Agger & Aurelio (when fit) are all very good players.

The top quality players are Reina, Carragher, Suarez and Gerrard.

I hope we buy at least 1 top quality player in this window... but can't see who it will be... Vargas, Turan or Baines perhaps?

14 Jul 2011 17:58:35
Juan Vargas is set to join Liverpool next week, that's the rumours speculating around fiorentina.

I personally hope we get Leighton Baines but never mind.

Also I can see Liverpool bidding for Juan Mata and Scott Dann to complete this summers signings.

With obviously Downing coming in, I presume no more wingers will be bought in...

So who do you reckon we'll sign as LB? I thought Cissokho?

And obviously Doni as GK

Then Do you reckon we will be sign at CB? If we do.

14 Jul 2011 17:44:53
I think our most likey targets for left back are; cissokho, vargas or maybe izzaguire i think we've given up hope on enrique. An with neil taylor of swansea who has had a change of heart on joining newcastle i think will hinder our chsnces of enrique even more, but if we dnt sign a lb i think young john flannigan could possibly play there he played well there on wednesday....

Just to let you know, LFC are in negotiation with Fiorentina I assume it's about Aquaman unless Juan Manuel Vargas is on his way to Anfield. 15M pounds + Emilliano Insua & Aquaman on loan is to be believed enough for us to snatch Vargas away from Firorentina Vargas has been known as the best left back in Italy He has got pace, power & stamina One of the attributes that Dalglish & Commoli like him is his pin point crossing which will be very useful for us He is versatile and can even play as a wide midfielder. Where his attacking is fantastic his defending is also excellent when compared to other attacking full-backs Aly Cissokho has attitude & injury problems & Lyons high valuation has caused LFC to move away from a deal & the same goes for Bastos his team mate

Ed's>>>> If liverpool are really looking to make a statement of intent why not look at Neymar?
For everything that is being said about this guy it seems he's gunna be one of the hottest players around. We allready know that Real Madrid have made their interest known and most see him and Ganso as the future of brazil. Would we be interested in him at this point in time though......
What are your thoughts. {Ed002's Note - Why would the club want to make a statement of intent like that. There is no chance of either Neymar or Ganso moving to Liverpool this summer.}

14 Jul 2011 16:50:57
Ed one very imp. Question why is kenny coming back from tour specially.as I understand downing signing can be completed without him also strange cissoko rumours yesterday.what's up and what's happening.I know doni signning is done.so can u explain or shed some light.
Regards
Red indian {Ed002's Note - If Dalglish is returning then I do not know why. As you say, it does not need him to complete any deal. I have explained the situation with Cissokho as best I know. He will be leaving Lyon as as soon as an acceptable bid is submitted - Liverpool, Roma and Juve are interested. Doni appears to be due for completion any time soon.}

taken off "footybunker" which is taken off a german news paper...whats your thoughts?

Liverpool FC are preparing to step up their interest in Werder Bremen centre-back Per Mertsacker after the Germany international revealed he would consider moving to the Premiership.

The 26 year old has been linked on numerous occasions with Liverpool's Premiership rivals Arsenal however as yet nothing looks to have been set up with Liverpool now ready to show their hand in the situation. A center-back is also on Dalglish's list as he looks to add more quality to his new look Anfield side, and although he may prefer British, Mertesacker's quality is something he would be very happy to add.

The issue for Liverpool is not being in a position to offer the German any European football, should he require a European competition he may look elsewhere. He has one year left on his contract but will be happy to remain at Werder Bremen and leave on a free next summer however the club itself would obviously rather cash in this summer if possible.

Mertesacker would not be the first Germany international to arrive at Anfield with Dietmar Hamann and Karl-Heinz Riedle also having played for the historic side. Could another quality German be on his way?

People Please put the higuian rumours to bed aslong as jose is the bossman we have more chance of starting dalglish upfront
higuian is rated highly at madrid and certainly wouldnt swap a near garenteed start everygame to watch suarez light up the prem from the bench..
whats your take on this ed?

kopitead {Ed002's Note - I suspect we might see Benzema deemed to be surplus to requirements and offered up as apart of a deal for Tevez. I doubt very much that Higuain will be leaving.}

------------------------------------------------

He is actually not highly thought of and is very undervalued by Madrid as he didn't come with the big maquee signing price tag, he was bought young and for 10mil. I get this info from a liverpool/madrid fan, that now lives in Madrid and has been going the game every week for the last 5years
He is a brilliant player and would a great signing, where he'd fit in exactly I don't know. But AS.com are reporting our interest

14 Jul 2011 15:34:31
Well the deal for downing is done.A good purchase in my opinion.If he gets in the amount of crosses he got in last year, andy carroll will thrive.He also has other qualitys but we need his pinpoint crossing more than anything else.Him and carroll will rack up the goals together.

BAd news

The agent of Liverpool's Christian Poulsen has ruled out a move to FC Copenhagen for the out-of-favour midfielder, insisting he will remain at Anfield.

Uncertainty surrounds Poulsen's future after he failed to make an impact on his debut season with the Reds, having been signed by former boss Roy Hodgson last summer.

The Denmark international is contracted until June 2013, but was only used on six occasions by Kenny Dalglish last term, not featuring again after the 1-0 UEFA Europa League defeat to Braga in early March.

The arrival of midfielders Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam this summer has fuelled speculation that Poulsen is on his way out of the door, with reports surfacing that Danish giants Copenhagen are chasing his signature.

However his agent, Jorn Bonnesen, has dismissed such rumours, insisting the 31-year-old is staying put on Merseyside.
Staying

He told Onside.dk: "No, Christian Poulsen is not on his way to FC Copenhagen and he has not spoken to them.

"Christian Poulsen's future is at Liverpool."

I Love to see Gerrard playing in the Right-Midfield. In the last season when he played as RW, he scored 23 goals. But in recent years he played in Central Midfield due to the fact we need cover for Defences.
In this season we have enough quality in CM. And remember that Gerrard has great crosses and excellent Finish.

Higuain To LFC £30m

14 Jul 2011 15:03:55
Hi Eds
Reports today suggest Liverpool's summer spending is far from complete. Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain is the latest player to be linked with a move to Merseyside. The Real Madrid player has found opportunities at the Bernabeu limited since his return from injury and reports in Spain suggest manager Jose Mourinho is keen to offload the striker to fund a move for Carlos Tevez or Sergio Aguero.

ed, do you think that there is a firm interest in Poulsen from copenhagen. Do you think, the rumours of a 2.5m bid are true? hello ed002, I came to know u have good info with french footy. Yesterday many other eds suggest aly cissokho to roma. But i saw jose angel to roma. So could we be leading for the race of cissokho. Would he be interested in coming to LFC. Pls rate the chances out of 10. If not him who else would u suggest. THANKS {Ed002's Note - Roma are interested in Cissokho in addition to Angel. Like Juventus are interested in both Bastos and Cissokho. There is a reasonable chance that Liverpool could sign Cissokho for a decent price.}

14 Jul 2011 13:25:59
What's the situation with Sturridge? Are we interested? And how much would he cost?

I think he would be a great player to have on the bench behind Suarez and Carroll and he showed he is a goal scorer with his spell at Bolton.

But would Chelski sell to us? And I've hear a bid of at least £20m would have to be made which I think would be too much for a back up striker... {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would have no problem selling a player to Liverpool. Chelsea do not want to sell Sturridge but if he requested a transfer they would let him go. Liverpool would need to guarantee him first team football of course. It is not likely to happen.}

14 Jul 2011 13:03:51
'{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Liverpool interest in Mata.}'

I can assure that there is definate interest from Liverpool. Also, to everyone else, there is interest in Higuain too although it looks unlikely he will sign. I might have mentioned this before, but Comolli feels (even after buying Carroll) that we need someone better to replace Nando Torres.

I have reliable sources.

Thanks, James.

People are saying were paying over the odd for average players? i do think that adam was a quality signing and an absoulute bargain..yeah we paided alot for carroll and the same to be said for hendo BUT there young and the other reason is that the likes of City & Chelski have ruined the transfer market by just buying everything and everyone for a ridiculous amount of money so every team is just over pricing there players.

anyhow onto my question Ed, i havent seen or heard much about Mata lately could you confirm if the interest is still there or are we happy just with downing?

Liverpool are considering a move for highly rated Uruguayan wing back Alvaro Pereira and have scouts monitoring his performances at the Copa America finals where the FC Porto star has been displaying good form.
The adaptable wide-man is one of many Est dio do Drag £o stars considering their futures at the Portuguese side following the departure of boss Andre Villas Boas to Chelsea. Pareira has been a regular on the left side of the Porto defence for the past two seasons and helped his side to a domestic double as well as a Europa League success.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of potential purchases to resolve the left back problem area but failed to persuade Gael Clichy to move to Anfield, the Frenchman opting for Man City, and moves to capture Everton s Leighton Baines and Newcastle United s Jose Enrique have thus far failed to bear fruit.
Director of football Damien Comolli is thought to be a big admirer of Parreira and the fact that fellow Uruguayan international Luis Suarez is also at the club may help in any pursuit of the former Argentinos Junior and Cluj full back.
Pareira is thought be valued at a fairly high price of 20m (£17.5m) by FC Porto, who are keen to get the maximum price for any of those players they feel could leave the club following Villas-Boas s exit. New boss V tor Pereira is already reportedly trying to fight off Chelsea interest in Colombian pair Radamel Falcao and
Fredy Guar n.
Liverpool tried to fill the left back role with many options last term and the likes of Paul Konchesky, Fabio Aurelio and Emilio Insua have all failed to impress Dalglish and the Scot had to at times last season play Glen Johnson and Danny Wilson out of position but is keen to bring in a strong character to fill the role.
Perreira has been very impressive during the current Copa America competition, netting twice and guiding Uruguay to a Quarter Final berth and the Montevideo born 25 year old has the added benefit of being able to fill a more advanced role on the left side if needed.

ANY TRUTH?

People Please put the higuian rumours to bed aslong as jose is the bossman we have more chance of starting dalglish upfront
higuian is rated highly at madrid and certainly wouldnt swap a near garenteed start everygame to watch suarez light up the prem from the bench..
whats your take on this ed?

kopitead {Ed002's Note - I suspect we might see Benzema deemed to be surplus to requirements and offered up as apart of a deal for Tevez. I doubt very much that Higuain will be leaving.}

14 Jul 2011 12:08:06
EDS PLEASE POST ME

a few people said about shirts having HIGUIAN prints overseas (welshKopper) or something but i have searched and cant find posts, i remember making a remark and laughin it off myself, but i hold my virtual hands up and agree that this is now gathering alot more pace Gonzalo, Suarez, Carroll, Downing, Gerrard, Adam, Henderson - possibly a.johnson - all in one team....GOSH thats scary for any opposition.

EasyD {Ed002's Note - I seem to recall it was in Mexico - try searching on that.}

Ed002,

You have written a couple of times this morning that people including me do not understand the reason Mavreaux was not signed.

I read this site a lot but have never seen another reason why we did not sign Mavreaux fapart rom the fact he wanted more than we were prepared to offer him. Some problems were highlighted in the medical and that we offered him less than he wanted.

If this is not the case can you explain what the reason was? i have never seen anything else written or alluded to here or in the press.

Orrin {Ed002's Note - There were no issues with teh medical. Sylvain Marveaux decided not to join Liverpool because the verbal agreement that had been agreed was not reflected in the contract presented to him. It was nothing to do with Liverpool turning the player down.}

14 Jul 2011 11:30:20
Hi Ed please post this on the rumours page.
I know you may have been asked this but was is th likely hood of us signing Higua n?
I dont see whre he would fit in tbh and if we did sign him it would be amazing and no excuse not to get a top 4 finish.
Thnaks great job {Ed009's Note - very low to be honest. Mourinho is a big fan of the player and he would be far more expensive than i believe we would be willing to spend on a striker at this time.}

14 Jul 2011 11:30:19
Mats Hummel to sign from Boruusia Dortmund foir a fee of around 15million pound
Quality 22 year old centre half and great signing

14 Jul 2011 11:27:47
is there still a chance of Adam Johnson, or did that chance vanish when Villa accepted our offer for Downing? really hope we will see Adam Johnson in a Liverpool shirt next season he is pure quality {Ed009's Note - I believe that there is still as much chance as ever. We were always going to get Downing in my opinion and so the interest in any other wingers was in addition to that. Mancini wants rid of Johnson and Johnson wants out. Whether he will be allowed to leave is harder to predict as City's board are very volatile. We will sign a left back and likely a centre back first, then we will see where we are. So an outside chance.}

14 Jul 2011 11:14:55
Hi ed. Heard a lot of rumors about a left back. Id rather have cissokho than enrique. Especially for 15million. Any updates? Thx {Ed009's Note - Enrique is being overpriced by Pardew and I think that, coupled with his awful performance against us, may have put us off a little bit. We would also be opening ourselves up to allegations of tapping up after Thommo's unfounded claims of a deal being a certainty. Cissokho, on the other hand, is available for a fair price as Lyon know he is going to leave and would be a very good signing. We are interested in the player, that's all we know right now.}

14 Jul 2011 11:02:52
Hi all

A while back I was the first to post on here that there would be any interest in Higuain (even though I didnt 100% believe it at the time)

Now I am here to report that before the window closes a serious bid for Davide Santon will be made by Liverpool.

I cannot reveal my sources but watch this space.

What do you think ed

KopiteKurt {Ed009's Note - Santon is a good young player and there was previously interest in him, but he would be expensive and recently we seem to have moved on to other targets.}

14 Jul 2011 10:42:56
AFTER AGREEING A FEE FOR DOWNING THE NEXT PLAYER BEING LINED UP IS ALY CISSOKO THEN AFTERWARDS PROBABLY SCOTT DANN OR MBAYE NIANG BUT THE LATTER DEPENDS ON HOW MANY FRINGE PLAYERS WE ARE ABLE TO OFFLOAD, IF BUYERS FOR JOVANOVIC, NGOG, POULSEN AND AQUILANI ARE FOUND EXZPECT ATLEAST 3 MORE SIGNINGS.

14 Jul 2011 10:07:15
Hi Eds,
Just want thank u for a great site and i was wondering will we sign a striker or a left back or a centre back first and which names would think are the mostly likely options that we will look at in these positions. I know that we have been linked to Jose Enrique, Aly Cissokho, Michael Bastos and Leighton Baines but are there any other options out there that have came about that maybe are better or are at the same level of these {Ed002's Note - It is impossible and pointeless to try and predict the order people will arrive in. I suspect a sustained effort to clear the decks of fringe players is high on the agenda. For left back, my preference, as I have stated a number of times, is for Vargas.}

14 Jul 2011 08:04:04
There will be two/three more signings which will be
LB - Cissoko (ready to move with no obstacles) Enrique (NC wanted to milk the cash and the chap has not handed in a TR)
CB - Sakho will be my bet, Dann is optional
CS - Sturridge (remember we tried to get his in Jan)
- Heguin wil be crowded out of RM
Aquaman was brilliant as he was passing well & raising the tempo, Flanno, Kelly, Cole, Pacheco were brilliant too. Adam exposed his failure to double back, was panicking prob due to first match otherwise played well.
Loved the Chinese fans, thats why we are the loudest and loyal fans. Thanks to the eds and other contrbts. YNWA DanieRed
ps just read Downing in the bag {Ed002's Note - Sakho will certainly not be moving to Anfield this year. I doubt Sturridge would want to swap Chelsea for sitting on the bench at Anfield.}

14 Jul 2011 08:00:12
Eds now that we have downing do you think thats the end of the adam johnson possiibility? {Ed002's Note - Downing was always the number one target. If there is interest in Johnson nothing will have changed.}

so perotti, who was said not to be leaving from Sevilla this summer is close to Juventes. I think Kenny will be battle for his signature for the right wing. Eds is there any player that interests Liverpool for the right wing? Bastos, Johnson, Marin, perotti, Cazorla, mata.. anyone?
or are we gonna play henderson the whole season on that position?

miccmak

miccmak {Ed002's Note - I suspect there are other priorities right now. There is pleanty of cover oin Kuyt, Henderson and Johnson for the RW. Perhaps the club will make a move for a player, but I don't see anything on the cards right now.}

14 Jul 2011 09:30:48
Hi ed. Just wondering now that downing is as good as done. Who will we b after nxt. Any updates on turan or honda? Please answer on rumors page. Cheers {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Turan and Honda.}

14 Jul 2011 09:25:30
Ed do you think 20mil is a bit much for downing? He's good but he'll be 27 soon. And to ed046- contraeo plays for real madrid mate. Eds one more question do you think we can afford to spend another 15mil or whatever on cissokho? Thanks please post haven't had 1 posted in ages. {Ed002's Note - I don't know the final fee for Downing but it is done, so there is little point dragging it out. As for further spending, I am sure there will be money spent on a left back but the club does need to cleanse itself of a number of fringe players very soon.}

14 Jul 2011 07:45:29
4 Jul 2011 02:44:13 Eds on BBC sports it says we're nterested in Higuain. Would you know if there is any truth to this or s it just journalist making something is it just journalist making something out of nothing due to Madrid ooking at strikers. Thanks Irf_lfc {Ed046's Note - i think it is journalists making stuff up and i'm not too sure yous need another striker as yous have got carroll and suarez and got ngog for back up and the liverpool system is to play one upfront

--------

Don't believe papers. Higuain is mourinhos most trusted striker and he has actually told the madrid hierarchy that if higuain, ramos, pepe are sold without his approval he will quit the club. I have a source within the madrid hierarchy and know this to be true.

Liverpool are interested in sergio canales but face competition from roma, valencia, and qpr {Ed002's Note - Canales will not be moving to Liverpool. I don't know of any firm interest from Liverpool in the player. Arsenal and Manchester City enquired as did Villareal and Roma. I suspect that the player has no interest in either a loan move or a move away from Spain.}

14 Jul 2011 08:22:27
Hi eds. Any news on Alvaro perreira on caught offside it says we are turning our attention to him. Please post on rumours page

14 Jul 2011 06:24:14
good morning ed. just wanted to know the approx fee for downing ? Is it £20 or £18.5 thanks. {Ed009's Note - I believe it is about 16 million rising up to almost 20 with add ons such as Champions League qualification. It is certainly not an initial fee of 20 million.}

14 Jul 2011 04:42:48
Hey Ed,
Now that we've got everything sorted out, Except for a LB,

WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO about our midfield? Let's count:

Meireles
Adam
Lucas
Gerrard
Shelvey
poulsen
Maxi
Downing
Aquilani
Spearing
Joe Cole

Think anyon'e gonna leave?

PITSILFC {Ed009's Note - Poulsen will leave, as will Aquilani in all likelihood. Meireles will also leave in less he lowers his wage demands to come in line with a squad player. We could see Shelvey go on loan.}

14 Jul 2011 01:42:34
Ed wats the progress with aly cissokho.. Have talks taken place or bid been put in? Annnnddd.. What is YOUR realistic target next season? Ill leave u a kiss too coz i love this site x {Ed009's Note - we are interested in the player - who is available - that is what we know right now.}

Jose angel-roma just on sky
So will this make us front runners for cissokho. How likely we sign him. ED046 suggest we will only sign a CB. but i think our next serious target should be LB. I rate cissokho very high. my 2nd personal favourite behind contreao. this signing would make us absolutely lethal on left wing with him and downing. Rate the chances out of 10 PLS. THANKS {Ed046's Note - its me again lol, after taking in what people have said to me im doubting myself about saying liverpools next target liverpool do need a lb and i think out of those two you metioned it would be cissokho as im sure contreao is on the verge of joining benfica

14 Jul 2011 05:16:07
Take from it what you want, but supposedly Liverpool are interested to sign 1 of the following 2.

Diego Perotti 14 Mil
or Lavezzi 26 Mil

Of course not ed
I welcome your views (even though you're a Rangers fan lol - kidding).
So long as you're honest (brutally) you'll have the respect of the genuine LFC fans - i'm sure the saddo's out there will send some abuse your way too when you're being honest but fook um
Welcome anyway as i say & i look forward to your views on us, positive & negative.
You have a lot to live up to (Ed001, Ed002 & Ed009 are very good to be fair so best of luck) - so no pressure lol
Only joking, you'll be grand obviously
Talk to ya soon mate, good night & god bless.

Who do you support ed if you don't mind me asking?
Don't worry, i'm not a hater, i'm just curious
I'll understand if you'd rather not reveal due to the possibility of some abuse from closed minded so n so's
Welcome to the site by the way - first time i've seen you edit here

Also Ed046 last time i checked Carroll and Suarez are forwards, they play on the pitch at the same time.So i'd say we play 2 forwards when we play with them both together with one of them taking tries and turns at dropping a bit deeper when we haven't got the ball. I can see why you would think that its just that our forwards are the hardest workers in the Prem. Back to the style of play, when we've not got the ball of defending from the front that Ian Rush who inveted it and then perfected it. Your opinion could be total opposite to mine but thats what these forums are for right Ed.Thanks Ed046 and while were bigging the Eds up, we should not forget Ed009 who does a great job on this site as well as the usual suspects that are mentioned like Ed002 and the gaffer Ed001. Jonson6 {Ed046's Note - no problem but we dont really know what daglish is going to do as he has got a lot of new signnings in and im not a liverpool fan but i honestly can't wait to see the liverpool line up

---------------------------
Ed,
If / When the day comes that LFC TV covers all of our games live i will be first in line to cancel my Sky Sports subscription believe me, but until that day i'm afraid i & many others who can only dream of being at Anfield every other week will need to remain subscribed.
They (Sky) practically own the E.P.L. which is a disgrace - Brown envelopes (all round) heading to government buildings me thinks.
Disgusting

Shouldn't Raheem Sterling get a left wing position. Why are we buying Downing when we have someone coming through that could take that positon.

Shouldn't LFC take a risk on youth

If you've never heard of Souleymane Coulibaly that could be about to change because the young Ivory Coast striker - dubbed the new Didier Drogba - has taken the FIFA U-17 World Cup by storm

Souleymane Coulibaly (Ivory Coast)
A striker that burst onto the tournament scene when scoring all four goals in his country's defeat of Denmark in the group stage, and then followed this up with the greatest hat-trick I have ever witnessed against Brazil - to Youtube, my friends. In total, Coulibaly scored a goal for every 40 minutes he was on the field, and scored all but one of his country's goals. To put that in perspective, if a striker did that over a full Premier League season, he'd score 86 goals.

'New Didier Drogba'

Any chance of getting some younger players in the first team

14 Jul 2011 03:10:42
Ed046, not trying to be clever but at this moment in time the back up striker is Kuyt not N'Gog. I'm sure 99% sure that we are trying our best to move him on. I do think once the priority positions have been filled, left back, centre back, maybe another midfielder, hopefully Moussa Sissoko and a back up striker/attacking player, hopefully Mata but Adam Jonson is more realistic and would do just fine. No disrespect Ed046 just my opinion mate.Jonson6 {Ed046's Note - i wouldn't say that kuyt would be a back-up for liverpool as i think he is one of liverpools consistent performers and i believe that yous will sign a defender and that will be yous down in the market. No disrespect taken as i am more than happy to recieve your opinion and your probably right as i am not liverpool suporter i am just here to put my own personal opinions and help if people ask for my help and submit your comments :)

Kenny Dalglish praised Charlie Adam after he starred on his debut in Liverpool's 4-3 friendly win over Guangdong.

Adam impressed when he came off the bench in the second half, while another sub, £35million man Andy Carroll, got on the scoresheet five minutes before the end.

Dalglish was particularly pleased with Adam, the Scotland midfielder producing a passing masterclass to show why the Reds boss pursued him for six months before last week's £7m deal with Blackpool.

Fulham have confirmed the signing of former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise from Roma. The 30-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Craven

14 Jul 2011 02:29:23
Another great day. Football started(sorta). Charlie debut and looked decent. Carroll and Agger look fit and healthy. C.Coady scores. J.Cole put himself in the shop window. Downing signs finally. The kids from last year (Flan and Robbo) keep improving, The bench just got a lot deeper. KK has many options all over the place. I think it going to be a very interesting season. Get out of the gates fast and put ourselves in position early.Saw this stat earlier
Downing, Adam & Henderson created 239 chances in the PL last season, equivalent to 56% of Liverpool's 2010-11 total (429).

That's a reason to be excited. Add a healthy Stevie, a full season from Saurez and a healthy Carroll and sky is the limit. BTW I don't think we're done yet.................

have we got downing? {Ed046's Note - the transfer fee has been agreed between the two clubs, now its down to liverpool and downing to sort out the contract and see if he passes the medical

14 Jul 2011 02:19:00
Ed, why is it taking so long

Liverpool announced 4 hours ago that they had agree a fee for Downing, surely he could have had his medical by now and signed on the dotted line?

Are sure this Comolli bloke ain't Spanish...Ma ana, ma ana, MA -BLOODY-ANA

dmedly :-) {Ed046's Note - transfers take time and someone doesn't move straight away as soon as the transfer fee has been agreed. im sure that this will be cleared up tomorrow and they'll be progress and you also need to take into consideration that it was quite late the transfer fee was accepted

You've had an 18.5 million pound bid accepted for Downing, all that's stopping him from being an LFC player is Villa's replacement being sorted (N'Zogbia). United fan but no need to wum.

Oh, one more thing. This is more of a suggestion for the site, if it is at all possible.

I've noticed that all the posts are labeled with a timestamp and that they are all in GMT+1. Sadly, we don't all live in that part of the world, but would still love to know when comments were made. It would be really nice if you could some how edit the site to show the current time in GMT+1 as a reference point to when posts were made. Maybe a small one in the corner or something.

Just an idea.

14 Jul 2011 01:53:30
Hey Eds, I have a tactical question for you guys. I personally think that Kenny rates Cole, at least enough to be given another chance. I'm wondering what position you guys think he will operate from if he does indeed stay. I personally think he would do well as an option on the right, pushed up high. Thanks.

BCHAN {Ed046's Note - i feel that joe coledoes not have the pace to be out in the right however he does have the technical ability to do so. i would play him behind the stricker in a cam role

Doni will sign Friday, Aly Cissoko will be mid next week if Lyon accept Liverpools final £11mil offer. Followed by Scott Dann. Dann has rejected stokes contract offer and is holding out for Liverpool to come in for him after they have secured both Doni and Cissoko. (they are currently priority.) I've heard whispers and the odd jangle that Liverpool will sign a striker later in the transfer window, as they expect a few players to be made available with impending transfers on the horizon at many top clubs. Higuain and sturridge have been mentioned a lot in the papers, I don't think it will be either if them but I'm assured there will be an exciting established striker coming to the club in the next 4 weeks

14 Jul 2011 00:21:48
Alright Ed's. As we have signed Downing do you think that there will be another winger coming in. As Mata and Bastos have been linked and i dont think Bastos would be used as a left back with us. Also Downing played on the right alot last season whipping in good crosses with his weaker foot so could be used there. So could you just clear this up please, Thanks :) {Ed001's Note - Mata is not a winger, he is of interest to play central and provide cover for the left, it is Aqua and Meireles that are stopping him from joining if anyone. Bastos now looks unlikely, Juve is his prepared option.}

My dad was talking to his brother 2day who works in lille football club and he said that liverpool are close to signing a defender from there he said he did not know who it was.. and i asked my dad to ask about hazard and his brother said that liverpool made an enquiry about him in june but did not make an offer or continue their interest do you know what defender it is Ed and have u heard of any interest cheers. You heard it from KOPNUMBER1 (Zincho) {Ed001's Note - this would be Ed002's specialist subject, but she is away. The only one I have heard we have interest in is Lucas Digne, but, like I said, Ed002 is the one with the French footie contacts.}

hi,
can't believe my last rumour has been put in the dodgy category
anyway just heard from a very reliable legend and i mean legend, that KK is only looking at 1 poss 2 more signings. 1 being a defender (cissokho) and back up striker at the right price
KK has 100% faith in our youth, Robinson, Coady, Flanagan, Kelly, Wilson, Pacheo, Sterling etc (ALL CLUBS ARE ENVIOUS OF OUR STRENGTH IN DEPTH)
1 signing that looks to be happening soon is nick powell from crewe, returning for season loan could be as cheap as £500,000 with add ons.
