Is Coates unhappy at Liverpool or is it part of Rodgers motion to get rid of any KK signings?

Appreciate your work eds {Ed002's Note - Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus has been mentioned as a possible loan option.}

Kenny/commoli's signings were truly awful.

If that is the case then he best Sell Suarez and Sterling...........rubbish.

Sterling was not bought by Kenny.

Sneijder has just tweeted YNWA but it was removed, dunno if it means anything but fingers crossed!
JJ

Seen the screen shot of this but could easily be fake.

Gibzkit.

Do you screen cap/print screen to show us as evidence?

HOW has he done that when Inter banned him (according to his wife on twitter) from using twitter last November? Plus he is currently on a plane to Istanbul according to Turkish television and hoardes of people have made their way to the airport.

Seen this myself, don't know what to make of it!

Proof? Surely somewhere would be reporting this, as we have seen loads of people deleting tweets but having it screenshot.

Did you not printscreen it to put on the dodgy pictures section?

In the dictionary, there is a picture of you next to the word gullible.

LOL! wheres the proof surely someone would have screenshotted it

I follow the Liverpool page on Facebook surely every1 can see it there no1 cba 2 put it on here becuz it's must probably a fake

Maybe he uses the same web team as FSG? Or perhaps he was tired and misspelled yawn? Or, more likely, this is BS.

It may mean Feyenoord...I hope it does.

And in the dictionary there's a picture of you next to the word cu*u*be*. Only passing on what I saw people don't shoot the messenger.. I have the picture in my phone but don't know how to upload it!
JJ

Can't you use Twitter on a plane then?
;)

LeTrench

Someone has uploaded to the dodgy sightings page . Also one of the Liverpool shop selling No 10 Sneijder shirts

Coates to west brom on loan if we sign forren

Wouldn't get rid of Coates. Good friend of Suarez. Good to have him in squad as well. Can do a really good job and Carragher's almost had it

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a keen admirer of adaptable Ajax forward Siem de Jong and is preparing an exploratory advance for the 23 year old Dutch international.
The Anfield boss is prepared to use Moroccan international Oussama Assaidi as a makeweight in the deal with the young winger said to be unhappy with the lack of Premier League football he has been handed since his move to the Merseyside club from Heerenveen last summer.
Though Rodgers has brought in Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea this month he is still very aware that his side could well do with some extra quality in the final third and the former Swansea City boss has earmarked De Jong as a realistic target.
Source-

If true I'd be happy with de Dong, can link up the midfield and forwards or can play as a forward himself.

De jong would be a terrible purchase. He's only been heard of because of his Man City goals, and that was terrible defending, nothing special from the player. He's below the standard we already have if you ask me. Poor goals to games ratio in the eredivisie too.

Or he may of been heard of by people that also watch football from other countries? Not just because of a goal against City...

Check his miss from the weekend-thought to be miss of the season...

This board lit up after both those city games asking if we were interested as he was a ''class'' player, he certainly is not, people just rose tinted because of the city game. He is NOT a good centre forward

Heard a rumour that Rodgers was with Ayre and had a conference with Henry in which he told them to get Sneijder

Limerick Red

I believe buying Snidger will be one of the best signing for our gret club. He will use his wealth of experience to work with Steven G in that mildfield. Also with that other younger players will lean from two of them. I assure you that once him and steve G combined in that mildfied, 4th position is for sure at the end of this season.
I believe stevenG himself will like it as he has commented over the need to get experienced player or players.

I beilieve it will never happen and thank GOD for that, he told him get him out of our rumours for ever because we aren't even looking at him, why the j.cole saga all over again, i don't understand people like you having no clue

Did rodgers called you personally or ayre tweeted about this meeting..no wait yes Henry posted it on his FB wall..

14 Jan 2013 19:54:19
Erikson will be our main target in the summer he is the number 10 we are looking at. I said ages ago our scouts have been at nearly every Ajax match so lets hope with a bit of luck we can get him.
Murton Red

Is it Eriksen or Viktor Fischer that has been watched?

How many times have we publicly courted him and every time he's politley blown us off. Would love him to play for the reds but never going to happen (LFC is a step down from the guaranteed CL footy he'll get at Ajax)

Seeing as many are saying don't know much about Vegard Forren? here is a clip on you tube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O05lwY0LdU

Liverpool are giving a trial to Norway defender Vegard Forren with a view to a possible move.
There had been suggestions Forren was booked in for a medical at Melwood on Tuesday ahead of a £4.2million move from Molde but that is not the case.
He will train with Brendan Rodgers' squad from tomorrow for a short period. Should he impress, the 24-year-old could yet be signed during the transfer window.

Thanks for that. I'd actually posted to find out if I was missing something but you've confirmed what I had basically managed to grasp. And thanks for the youtube link as well...I don't put too much stock in them but it's good to take a further look.
Regards, Reynard

Looks exactly the type of defender Rodgers likes... Runs out from the back and looks comfortable with the ball at his feet or spraying long passes down the ground. Could be a good one. Reminds me a lot of Agger too.

I would like to see Coates play more, still.

14 Jan 2013 20:36:06
With us looking to sign this Norwegian centre half who Everton were looking at. Good move just look at signing whoever Everton or Swansea are looking at.
Spurs have been doing that with us for years.

And spurs have done it successfully because they are a more attractive option at the moment.

dave

Pity they didn't beat us to Cole, Carroll, Downing and Henderson too..

14 Jan 2013 20:24:00
Hi eds you say if forren comes in then Coates will leave will this be permanently or on loan? I think we should keep him as him and forren could provide quality cover for agger and skrtal especially if carragher retires we will need two back up cbs! {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure he agrees. Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus has been mentioned as a possible loan option.}

We don't need ''cover'' we need people to challenge them for a place, both have become VERY slack recently and are quite frankly a large % of the reason we have shipped goals

Main reason we have shipped goals is lack of a proper DM. Things have improve with Gerrard dropping deeper but he could be used elsewhere.

14 Jan 2013 18:57:00
Forren is training with The Club for a few days not having a medical. No deal/fee agreed

There must be some sort of agreement in place otherwise why would he just train with us he plays for another team in another league. You don't see Suarez just going to train with Madrid or barca for a few days

14 Jan 2013 18:51:46
Forren has been invited for a trial not to have a medical. He will train with the first team squad on Tuesday.

14 Jan 2013 18:38:08
Forren will not be signing, he is only training with us whilst on his winter break

He's not training with us, he's on a trial!!

Trial with a view to a permanent move you will find.

Mighty reds

LFC website says it's a trial. Redlady.

hi eds

is there any interest in adel taarabt he has been in fine form for qpr and looked a real threat when we won them.

cheers {Ed001's Note - no.}

Good player but i think qpr want to keep there best players to try an stay in the league

You must be joking....he's more suited to 5 a side beach soccer

Considering his 'dream' is to play for Manchester United, added to the fact he's a complete w*****r, I'd rule this out.

Stop joking, he sucks....shelvy is 5 times the playmaker he is at least..people have no idea of football anymore....:(

A real threat? He is an awful player, one of the most overrated in the league. He's lazy, only seems to do tricks when no one is near him and isnt a team player. Championship player at best

14 Jan 2013 17:47:23
Eds fellow reds, do we really need to spend £4 million on another defender .we need a play maker /no 10 {Ed002's Note - If he is arriving he will likely be a replacement for Coates being sold or loaned.}

Rather have Coates than wasting 4 mil on a position that ain't of importance at the min he ain't gunna start

Just don't get why we would get rid of coates who sits on the bench and got alot of promise for some no mark just to sit on the bench and do exactly the same,

He could be a good signing as he can also play left back. Seen him on tv, looks a good player.

Also Carragher will be given the tap on the shoulder soon

FSG won't be spending any money this window. Only finishing a summer deal when they messed up with the striker situation. This Norwegian is not going t o sign, it's training session while they have winter break to build relations for future farming of youth players.

They're will be no classy Dutch players. No extra £1mil require to snare Ince. No Mirin. No Gomis. No Holtby. No Sissoko. No money.

FSG do not spend that IS their policy.

Eds and fellow Reds
Once again thank you Ed's for keeping up with all our frustration.

I am from Norway, and like most norwegians I know very well Vegard Forren as an excellent CB at the Norwegian league champions (Molde) as well as in Norway's national team.
I just want to tell you a little bit about this guy, since (I guess) most of you probably haven't heard of him.

In May 2007 he was considered as a very important player when his team KIL/Hemne ensured that the top team Molde FK lost in the national cup.
He signed a 5 year contract with Molde in July 2007. Most football supporters, journalists and commentators in Norway rates him VERY high as a defender.
I feel sure that this guy could be a very good buy for LFC, to fill the hole after Coates or Carragher. I also believe we would have had to pay 2 or 3 times more to get a player of his caliber from England, Spain, Netherlands, France, Portugal etc.
SC Heerenveen and Tottenham has shown strong interest for Vegard Forren some time ago.
He has recently turned down offers from Club Brugge + several clubs in Germany (i.e. Stuttgart), Netherlands and Russia.
He hasn't mentioned any club spesifically himself, just that he would love to play in the English PL as he consider it as the best league today, and that the tempo and style of playing suits him very well.
Fulham and Everton are also interested in Forren, and Southampton apparently made a bid for him last week.
Vegard Forren won the "Kniksen award" as the best defensive player in Norway in 2012.
His present team Molde (w/manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) won the league title in Norway in 2011 and 2012.
He is 24 years old, height 1, 86m, and he has scored 4 goals in 124 matches for Molde FK.
The CEO of Molde FK is very discrete in norwegian newspapers today, he refuses to say anything but "Molde FK have not accepted any bid from Liverpool FC".
When the journalists asks him if they have RECIEVED a bid from LFC, he just answers "no comment".
A lot of norwegian media claims tonight that Vegard Forren is on his way to LFC for medical and contract negotiations, and that Molde FK has accepted a bid from LFC (unknown amount).

I believe and hope that he will be photographed in a red shirt before the end of this week, and as a long-time red, I would personally see that as very good news for us.

Skrtel and Agger are ok but are they the best? Not for me! YNWA

14 Jan 2013 23:14:12
Anyone who thinks we don't need to strengthen our defense is a moron, this lad will do very nicely thank you
IF we can sign him! he is an excellent player, and our defense is not that great is it? couple of injuries and we are fooked!

14 Jan 2013 17:41:45
According to several norwegian newspapers Molde have accepted an offer from Liverpool on Vegard Forren. Have you heard anything that can confirm as much, Eds?

NorwegianRed {Ed002's Note - No, I have explained all I know. No doubt all will become clear in the morning.}

Thank you for answering, Ed002, all the work you and the other Eds put into this site is highly appreciated! :)

NorwegianRed

Reports currently are that he is not booked in for a medical. He will train with the squad for a few days on trial, and if he impresses may then join during this transfer window. But a long way from definate it would appear.

14 Jan 2013 16:49:21
Veggard Forren has been booked in for a medical at LFC tomorrow. Player is predominantly a centre back but can also play left back. Fee is believed to be in the region of £4million. Ismit Miren will not be coming in.

LFC82

14 Jan 2013 17:29:33
We have indeed had an offer accepted for Vegard Forren, medical on the 15th, caught us all by surprise haha

From what i am told this probably means Coates is off too WBA on loan

LFC93

14 Jan 2013 17:25:19
Ed, how much credibility do you give to these Forren rumours?

Is the Norwegian source just another version of , or do you think there might be something in this one? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the Norwegian source is so all I know at this time is what I have previously explained. There has been nothing from the Molde PO.}

14 Jan 2013 17:21:52
Vegard Forren will sign by the end of the week for a fee reported to be in the region of £4m, the fee has been agreed and he is due for a medical on Tuesday.

BigD

I really hope we land this player, just what we need, and one in the eye for Everton and United

14 Jan 2013 17:07:52
Norwegian TV ate reporting that Molde FK accepted Liverpool's bid for Vegard Forren and he will be at Melwood tomorrow. £4m He is 2, 34m tall. Cracking left foot. Great in the air. Reads the game. Lightening pace. Great tackler. Top passer.
Murton Red

2 years old and 34 metres tall? wow

2.34 metres tall?! Must be unbeatable in the air then...

Has no pace but otherwise good player

He is not 2.34m tall he's about 187cm which is about 6ft 2"

His heights not believable that's
7ft 8inches

Lyndon

He's played in the norwegian league

Hope he better then veggard heggam

Bit of an overstatement there. 'Lightning pace' he does not possess, for a start. In fact his game is all about reading situations. By your description he sounds like world class when in fact he's very average

BR at it again. He's got a perfectly good up and coming CB in Coates, but now wants to move him out and bring someone else in (Forren). He needs to concentrate on what the team needs, and that is quality offensive players
G

No pace, that's why everton swerved him

My God!! he must have lived in a grow bag all his life!!

2, 34 tall?? So he's over 7 1/2 foot then? ha.......this MUST be true!!

Heard we might lose him to the chicago bulls if we don't act fast though....

If he had all the skills you mention he may be a little more than 4.2 million i would have thought, or maybe he isn't consistent with these attributes?
i do not know as have not seen him but if as good as you say, ill be very happy
gareth

Vegard Heggem says that Forren may not be good enough for Liverpool yet (even at that height.) {Ed002's Note - I thought he was nailed on?}

34m tall?
DJP

15 Jan 2013 01:48:33
He is 2 years old and 34 metres high that is incredible

He is not that tall...
I live in norway and have seen him play a few times...
he is 186cm

14 Jan 2013 17:03:48
Vegard forren booked for a medial tomorrow at 11, johnny d

14 Jan 2013 17:00:49
Very strong rumours that there is a medical booked in for tomorrow for a centreback called Vegard Forren, a Norwegian who plays for Molde. The guys 24 and will cost approx £4.2mil.

14 Jan 2013 16:55:25
!!

Molde have accepted a bid of about £4m for norwegian centre-back Vegard Forren.

Medial scheduled for tomorrow.

Source: norwegian news site tv2.no

best, Red Viking {Ed002's Note - Molde's Vegard Forren has attracted various degrees of interest from Manchester United, Fulham, Everton and Standard Liege with Everton looking likely to complete a deal, although the player is not sure of a move in January if it means sitting on the bench. If he is moving to Liverpool I can only assume he will be a replacement for Coates.}

14 Jan 2013 16:46:40
Any chance of Hamsik?
I've heard he's a red. {Ed002's Note - If Hamsik were to move then Manchester City. Chelsea, PSG and AC Milan would be the likely choices but I doubt it will be this month.}

14 Jan 2013 16:34:53
Ed any interest shown in any defensive midfielders?

We only have 1 natural one in lucas who is injury prone and let Sahin go to doetmund

Cheers

Shak Attack {Ed002's Note - Coady not one you want as cover then?}

I loke coady ed but some who watch more youth footy than me seem to think he isnt ready? wouldn't mind seeing another youngster coming through

Shak Attack

Ed002 coady isnt good enough yet.. we need a playmaker not a defensive midfielder.. joe allen has gone backwards, sneijder would have been nice.

jay b {Ed001's Note - Coady isn't a defensive midfielder, he is a box to box player, who can hold back if needed. More of a Gerrard than anything else.}

In answer to yr question ed Coady NO

Lucas, Allen, Coady. That'll do.

If the only cover for lucas is coady then we are in trouble. hendo or allen break balance of team when they try to play in that position.

14 Jan 2013 16:44:46
Anything on Vegard Forren Ed's? Cheers, JGS {Ed002's Note - Molde's Vegard Forren has attracted various degrees of interest from Manchester United, Fulham, Everton and Standard Liege with Everton looking likely to complete a deal, although the player is not sure of a move in January if it means sitting on the bench.}

Bid for Vegard Forren from Liverpool according to Norwegian newspaper TV2 Sporten

http://fotball.aftenposten.no/england/article263826.ece

14 Jan 2013 16:42:04
Vegard Forren will sign by the end of the week

Isn't he going to Everton

Everton were interested. It's reported by a few sources that he's just coming to Anfield for a trial. We'll see - I don't trust any reports in transfer windows. Decent player though

14 Jan 2013 15:56:00
Question for Ed002

We have purchased Sturridge and possibly Ince, so that would be £18 million (roughly) spent on players this month. Was there any reason why this money could not have been released for Sturridge in the Summer considering its the same financial year. Was it a case of wait and see how the season pans out or was the price for Sturridge more expensive in the Summer. I know Liverpool enquired about a loan in the Summer for Sturridge. Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - The approach in the summer was, as you say, in respect of a loan, not a purchase so it didn't come in to it. At the time Liverpool were looking to buy Mr Dempsey, although from memory that did not work out. There is no hidden story here.}

14 Jan 2013 14:39:34
Any chance of bringing Facundo Ferreyra? {Ed002's Note - Velez Sarsfield's Facundo Ferreyra has attracted the attentions of Juventus, Catania, Everton, Fulham and Inter Milan this season with Inter making several alternate proposals to take the player to Italy including a part ownership agreement. Inter are actively looking to force the transfer by making a recent offer to Banfield to purchase outright their 50% share of the player.}

Are part ownerships quite common in Italy. Just I seem to remember a few players such as Adriano having part ownerships but don't understand why they are pursued. Eds do you think you could shed any light on why they are done? Because I don't recall seeing any part ownerships in the premiership although I could be mistaken. {Ed052's Note - they're done to save money and if you dont want to lose a player fully but need to free up funds}

14 Jan 2013 14:39:21
Hi Ed001 and Ed002, Just wanted to ask your opinion. If (as seems likely given the lack of options for his crazy demands) Wesley Sneijder moves to Galatasaray this window will they be forced in anyway to offload Selçuk İnan earlier than the summer? And, will that force us to move for him earlier than this summer or will we (in your opinions) let the deal pass if our hand is forced? Thanks in advance, Reynard {Ed002's Note - I would not link the two necessarily. I do however expect Liverpool to make further enquiries abut Inan at some point.}

Ed is this Inan chap any good as im not really up to speed with Turkish Football?

Thanks

BigD {Ed002's Note - I am not really one to rate players but I guess you could find clips on YouTube etc.}

Is he the new turkish wonderkid ? if so i expect if he doesnt come now he'll go to a big CL club in summer, looks the real deal though {Ed002's Note - I have no idea where you get all of this "wonderkid" stuff from nor anything about moving to a CL club. It is true Rubin Kazan and Tavriya Simferopol are interested.}

I was just saying that if the hype about him is true then there'll be clubs with bigger purse strings an CL football will want him, the "wonderkid" tag is thrown around too much these days and was probably a bad choice of word by myself, am i right in saying he is highly thought of in Turkey ?

14 Jan 2013 14:11:45
Rumours says that LFC is interested to bring in John Guidetti on loan. Sounds very unlikely. Amazing talent though

14 Jan 2013 14:00:55
Is there a possibility that Liverpool will sign a left back now in January or more likely in the summer?

Btw hasn't Fabio Coentrao fallen out of favour at Real? Maybe Liverpool can make a loan bid and buy him for 12-16m in the summer :) {Ed002's Note - I am by no means sure a left back is a priority. Enrique, Robinson, cover from Johnson ...}

So why robinson doesnt play? why LFC has to suffer like this everytime.eg wisdom, another centerback playing out of position and not performing like a true rigthback should have been, while johnson struggles as leftback also adding more salt to the injury Downing as a leftback.
When Lucas was injured again no true DM as cover (we had many midfielders at that time but not a true DM, in fact we should have sell someone and replace him with a true DM but yet again they knows more than us). Strikers was depleated (Carroll on loan)
In fact thre is no plan be from Brenda.if you want aplayer you must insist and if you have to offload other player then be it, but you should not be a yesman.

Maybe he knows more and he has the habit of winning throphies.

Budashow

A LB is very much a priority, we saw yesterday that Johnson cannot cross with his left foot and Wisdom has a lot of improving to do. I do think he will become a class RB/CB in the future however. I think if we could sign a LB that is happy to sit on the bench or play when Jose is out then we could loan Wisdom to a team such as Fulham, Sunderland etc.

14 Jan 2013 13:33:52
Eds, what the story with boudebouz, any interest from liverpool or anyone else {Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz was expected to leave Sochaux in the summer with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest and Liverpool asking to be kept informed of anything that happens. However, all of this predates Rodgers and there appears to be no interest aside from Marseille right now.}

14 Jan 2013 13:25:44
Nicolas Isimat-Mirin is hoping to complete his move to the EPL this week with Liverpool his most likely destination.
Murton Red

14 Jan 2013 13:15:04
Ed's
Apologies if this has been done to death.
But are we really giving the Sneijder rumours any consideration?
FSG surely won't go against there principles and meet what will be massive wage demands after doing all they can to offset wage expenditure so far. Also, what has he done in the last year or two to suggest he can be match fit and make a difference for LFC in this league?
He has potential, is a gifted and fast thinking player who could adapt to Rogers style of play but have we all got a bit carried away here? {Ed002's Note - In my view it has been done to death.}

14 Jan 2013 13:14:23
Hey eds, afternoon all. I cannot claim that this is a credible source and I personally find this one a little hard to believe, but there is a twitter account called Anonymous0 which has just started up and it's a rumours account. Just read one that says we bid for Torres on the 11th, a £17million bid. Now I am with the eds in the chances of us re-signing Torres, just simply passing on a rumour.

Severance

I am sick of this, you can't possibly be a liverpool supporter...
please don't pass on crap cause we don't want it....yeah we are going to make the tratior the best paid player in the clubs history, gerrard makes 100k....torres can go die...if he signs for us i will go support man-city or qpr....

Chances are if its a recently opened Twitter account its been done to just spread lies, had it been an account that had been open for a while and has a history of getting things right then maybe it has legs, in this case its rubbish

14 Jan 2013 14:42:13
I've seen that too and a few others saying 20 million and others saying we have approached chelsea for him, I personally think until either us or chelsea or maybe even torres says that he wants to re join I'm taking it with a pinch of salt, I'd put my money on him going to Madrid in summer,

14 Jan 2013 15:49:08
I am sick of this, you can't possibly be a liverpool supporter...
please don't pass on crap cause we don't want it....yeah we are going to make the tratior the best paid player in the clubs history, gerrard makes 100k....torres can go die...if he signs for us i will go support man-city or qpr Whether Torres re-signs or no, my advice to you is 'do one' and go support City, QPR or whoever ya wan't. ''Torres can go die'' you're an absolute person.

Why would you go and support another team.If we could get torres for 17 million go for it. I don't think it will happen but i would like him to rediscover his form for Liverpool

Bit of a harsh response. Torres genuinely loved Liverpool, but transferred in order to win trophies. In the time that he has left, Chelsea have won the Champions League and the FA Cup, so I would say the move was justified on his part. We, in turn, got 50 million to spend, but we didn't use it wisely. If he wanted to come back, and we could get him for the price that we can offload Carroll for, then I would happily take him back.

If one signing good or bad is enough to make you stop supporting the club then your not a real fan, the club doesn't need toy fans, support for the love of it not the glory , enjoy the ups and downs because when we are back at the top it will make it that much sweeter YNWA

Ki101

Love to see Torres back.

Torres would not be the same player we had with the exception of the last 18 months of his Liverpool career.
We need to find the next Torres, not keep looking backwards.

14 Jan 2013 12:05:48
Hi eds
surly our weakest squad position is at left back, Yuto Nagatomo in my opinion is a great player, he's 26 do you know if Liverpool have had links with him.
thanks.
Chris {Ed002's Note - There has been no interest from Liverpool that we know of.}

14 Jan 2013 12:03:20
Liverpool are not interested in Chung-Yong Lee of Bolton. The rumour is a recycled one from a year or two ago. Started again by the wonderous bluebird site.

Also, I would highly doubt Ince will be joining us this January. Liverpool will not meet the price Blackpool want.

Redfella YNWA

Take it FSG, with all this money to buy whoever can't stump up a further £1mil. Joke

Maybe they shouldn't have paid RM £4.5 for Sahin to send off after six months and pay Cole £3mil to LEAVE ! Great business.

Sturridge was a summer deal missed and resumed in Jan. FSG haven't done a thing this window.

Paying Cole to go was better than paying his wages to the end of his contract and his signing was nothing to do with FSG. Also there was no telling what would happen with Sahin, when he was signed it looked a good deal so what are you whining about.
CR

You should get most things right with hindsight.

Unfortunately, hindsight is always too late.

Hy Eds.
I have heard that Ince deal could stalled then who is his alternative. And any chance of attacking or defensive midfielder as liv really need quality in that area.
Ayre sad rodgers have money to spend then why he didn't spend as we all knw we dnt hav enough depth in squad. Thanx for your time. please do response.
Thanx. {Ed002's Note - Someone suggested Lee.}

Hey eds, are Liverpool thinking of strengthening their full back stocks at all? I ask this coz when Enrique or Johnson gets injured we don't have quality back up. Enrique goes down and we have to play Johnson LB and I just don't think wisdom is quite good enough yet. What do you think? {Ed002's Note - There is Robinson as well, and Kelly is out injured.}

I thought Wisdom had a pretty good game against United. Saved what looked like a guaranteed goal when Kagawa was about to tap in, and his link up play down the right was strong. If that is against this year's champions then I reckon he is probably good enough.

14 Jan 2013 19:31:55
Wisdom is quality, he's sensible with his forward runs, pacy and strong on the back foot and can read the game. Besides Robinson is a sensational prospect at lb. I'd like to see us buy Shaw and get rid of Enrique.

Anfield Andy

To eds, is there any other clubs that has shown their interest in Gala's Selcuk Inan other than Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - Yes, Rubin Kazan and Tavriya Simferopol.}

14 Jan 2013 11:13:13
ed any interest in adel Tarbaat?

excellent player will be cheap...perfect No.10..
he kept chelsea and Spurs midfield in his pocket..
played al alone upfont...excellent link up and service to his teammates..

I know he is a big fish in a small pond..
but atleast he is a fish..and will come very cheap..

Y haven't we shown any interest?
not good enough?, attitude problem?..or anything such? {Ed002's Note - There is no specific interest for a January move but if he leaves over the summer I suspect it will be to sunnier climes. There has been previous interest from Italy, notably from Napoli, and I suspect he will head for the Mediterranean.}

Are you serious ? Selfish and over rated is how i would describe him. I seen him against spurs and he was awful (again), one example, he got to the bye line, could have driven the ball across goal but decided to do a drag back and the chance was gone, very poor decision making. we have young sterling who may make incorrect decisions at time but he is young and will learn. taarabt can have no excuse for being so poor

1) He isn't good enough. 2) He has a massive ego and is quite lazy. 3) He'd probably command a fee of about £10million.

The most selfish player on the planet.....i can't beilieve people wanting players they almost never watched, i am sure you almost never watched him since you re saying he is a team player and excellent service, am from morocco and hate his selfish guts!!

14 Jan 2013 13:16:43
so what you call daniel sturridge when he was at chelsea??
adel tarbat is quality...and he is playing in amedicore team..where he has to recieve the ball and socre..
he has got excelelnt leftfoot..
dribbled david luiz and scot parker atleast 15 times...
he takes on players..and has got skills..which you can't erase...
he won't commad any fees higher than sturridge..
and if he is that bad..he won't end up in Milan...

If he does...you guys can go and sleep..

Did you watch the game against Spurs, he was absolutely awful.

All you guys do is moan, like it is your money. No one wanted Sturridge...said exactly the same things. Like any of you know him personally to say he is lazy...selfish, yeah, a little from what I have seen of him.

He carries a genuine goal threat though

Have we made a 9m offer for Sow of Fenerbahce? {Ed052's Note - no}

No a 12 million offer acorrding to the turkish press

Hi all was told yesterday that downing is or was going to arsenal that's all i could get

Get sneijder liverpool

Lfc mike

You're joking right? We are getting rid because he is a load of tripe, why would Arsenal want to him?

Noshbag LFC

Downing can't leave in his current form.

Hello Eds,
sorry if this has been answered before but I heard PSG are interested in signing Anelka this window. Could this help in our approach for Gamiero ?
as surely he would drop further down the order especially with Ancelloti playing with 1 ST. {Ed002's Note - I think you may bave been misled over where Nic Anelka will be moving to.}

14 Jan 2013 10:22:31
Am I wrong in thinking that maybe in the summer Torres will move in the opposite direction while Falcao joins Chelsea? Or any other big club interested in Falcao to challenge Chelsea?

KrishnaYNWA {Ed002's Note - There is a chance Torres will move to AM in the summer and Chelsea's interest in Falcao is no secret but the two removes are not reliant on each other. There has been interest shown from a few other clubs in Falcao.}

I believe Falcao's camp has expressed an interest in joining PSG. {Ed002's Note - There is some interest from PSG but they have not made any direct approach to AM at this time.}

Liverpool will 100% not be bringing in Thomas Ince this Transfer window

Blackpool are "Not in the position to sell their best players" According to someone close to the club.

They quoted Liverpool something close to 10 million to bring the player back to Anfield this Window in which Liverpool laughed at.

There will be the Signing of Jeffren on loan and possible permenant signing of Atletico Bilbaos Markel susaeta

I was under the impression that they had to sell in this window as he only has 6 months left, if this is right I can see Blackpools asking price coming down to a realistic level the closer we get to end Jan. Is this not the case Eds? {Ed002's Note - I understand that he contract has a clause that allows a one year extension to be invoked.}

Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for South Korean international winger Chung-Yong Lee from Championship Bolton Wanderers.
Any number of January transfer targets have been said to be on Liverpool's wanted list, and the Daily Star on Sunday claim that the Anfield club are keen on signing fit-again Lee this month.
The 24-year-old South Korean international, who has 42 caps for his country, missed almost all of last season with a double fracture to his leg as Bolton were relegated from the Premier League but has been a regular in the Championship this season after returning to full fitness. {Ed002's Note - If LIverpool are interested in Lee then I assume it would be as an alternative to Ince. Perhaps this is who Ian Ayre was referring to in his statement?}

Wow 4th here we come. Lee and Ince Liverpool for the glory years again :-|.

Seriously, is the level of ambition at the club at the moment eds? With so many young talented players being linked with Liverpool, and other Premier League clubs in the past couple of weeks, is this the best we can do? Surely at least one of Sissoko, Belhanda, Vargas, M'Villa (who may have been already snapped up) or Amorebieta would signal the intent of the board to realistically challenge top 6 never mind top 4. We are not challenging any of the top teams at the minute and indeed, are being occasionally thumped by so called lesser teams. Time to pull the finger out!
Learpholl {Ed052's Note - Lee is actually a very good player, and should he not have been injured last season would have been a top signing for a top Prem team. Now he is coming back to full fitness, he would prove a very good buy for whoever can get him}

Fantastic! With these type of signings we'll be able to go 34 points behind the Mancs!!Nearly19

Lee is a great player, why don't people see how well he does. He is just like Park Ji Sung in that he is quick and tracks back. In my opinion, we must sell off Downing and use the cash on Lee as he and Assaidi can be great squad players behind Raheem Sterling and "X" who will be our starting wingers. Remember what ROdgers said, we are only losing because we have no squad depth, Utd could easily take off Vidic for Smalling or Jones, if one of our wingers got injured, who will bring in apart from Assaidi??. Frankly speaking, Lee is better than Downing for me.

Lee is top5 winger in priemier league

He is a championship player!

Downing is a hundred times better than lee

Hi eds just wondering are liverpool after a director of football {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has considered brining someone in to help on the footballing side. I would not necessarily say it will be a Director of Football.}

Could the rumours be true that FSG are offerin Kenny a job back at LFC?? {Ed002's Note - If they are it won't be as Director of Football.}

Makes since we could use more additions to the squad yet we are looking to spend more money on something that we do not need. Brilliant

14 Jan 2013 01:28:39
Are we intrested in will hughes from derby
??

Basy {Ed002's Note - Hughes is attracting interest from several clubs with Fulham likely to be the first to make an offer.}

Off to city

14 Jan 2013 02:48:38
Hi eds I've seen a few people say today that Rodgers has said he expects nothing else in the window! I think if true it will be a disaster! What's yur take on the matter? {Ed002's Note - I will stick by what I have said with a couple more arrivals - I'll stick with Sturridge, Ince and one on loan.}

According to a very reliable source, Sneijder is reluctant to move to Gala as he in keen on a move to Anfield, his £160k wage demans however are a problem.

Personally, I think despite the huge wages, this would be a massive statement of intent by FSG and steps in the right direction in terms of getting back into Europe and attracting other big names to the club. Its not everyday that one of the best playmakers in the world wants to come to Anfield in our current state. We would be fools not to pursue this deal.

If we have freed up £160k from Sahin and Cole's exit, niether whom we ever used and possibly Downing, then why not? {Ed002's Note - FSG paying Sneijder's wages as a "statement of intent" would be an entirely dumb thing to do business wise - you might want to read the thread on this from yesterday. However, Sneijder is delaying his move to Gala and clearly hopes for another club to make an offer. People need to stop going on about freed-up wages - unless of course Sturridge is playing for nothing.}

If he wants to come to Anfield, then he will want to accept the wages we offer.
If he doesn't, then he's just purely in it for the money and I don't want him there.

Sjb76

I know we won't get him ed but is he holding off on a move because someone's shown interest or is he just hoping someone comes in ? {Ed002's Note - His agent spoke with two clubs on Thursday - neither of which was English to try and get additional interest. I suspect that any decent English side offering very high wages would have their offer considered. I speculated before that if Spurs cannot strike a deal for Moutinho then they may be interested. Additionally Manchester United has been interested in the past. Perhaps the other clubs spoken to will be of interest?}

Joe Cole - £90k
Nuri Sahin - £110k

Saved on wages £200k

Dani Sturridge - £60k

Potentially

Tom Ince - £30k

So we have saved £110k on wages. {Ed002's Note - Your figures are miles from being correct. You also don't seem to be aware of the payments to Joe Cole?}

'Sturridge is playing for nothing' LOL! nice one, ed! Singred

I'm with ed002 on this one, all he wants is one more big pay day it would be cole saga all over agian, but if fsg let ince get away you would have to question fsg .
Eam

Don't you think if a player came in on 160k a week it might upset the apple cart with some of the other established players?

You really have no clue.

We don't want to be held hostage to smaller clubs and egotistical footballers
Let both Ince and Snedjer go. There are much better deals out there for hungry players and we have some excellent lads coming through such as Ibe and Texeira

Some supporters are mad i agree with the eds it would be crazy to pay sneidjer his wage demands as it would lead to revolts among other so called top players at the club wanting their wages risen in according to what sneidjer is being paid and that would waste any money for further purchases now and in the summer
ps
keep up the good work eds and wrap up warm {Ed052's Note - Thanks. Will do - you too}

We're in dream world guys.. More chance of signing Wesley hoolahan than wesley sneijder

If we paid Sneider a ludicrous wages it would send out a wrong message to Luis and Stevie who don't earn anywhere near that. However, I am sure the saving from the wages of Cole and Sahin will pay Sturridges wages with a couple of quid left over!

Shirt sales alone for a player of Wesley Sneijder's ability would cover a large majority of his wages. He would only be on a similar wage to Gerrard and rightfully so. You want the best then you pay them what they are worth. As for upsetting the apple cart, well no other player at the club other than Suarez should be on anything like Gerrard is anyway and I think Sneijder comes into that bracket also. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool does not get the money from shirt sales.}

Signal of what?? that we are dumb to 1. ruin team moral as players like suarez+sturridge+lucas+enrique all making under 90 k a week and are all much better see a finished 165 cm that doesn't posess any fitness or physical strenght making double their wages...??
2. just like joe cole, so we can spend 2/3 seasons trying to get rid of him and we can't sign any other players because of the wage budget blown
3. so we can have an injured player for 3 sesons playing a little bit for ridicoulous money.. plus many others reasons like he is just not good enough at all....wake up from football manager 2007!!!!!!!

'Statement of intent' i guess is the wrong term however 'business wise' attempting to get into the CL surely make sense! Signing quality players of this stature ( even though expensive ) can only help this achievement and will stop the possibility of Suarez leaving next summer due to seeking playing in the CL ! Worst case this signing would serve as a 'statement of intent' when trying to convince Suarez to stay if this achievement was not made....

Sneijder would cause Suarez to leave with wages

Downing won't leave.

Don't want to be another Portsmouth.

How about big Andys money are we still paying that

Hi eds
is there any interest in Younes Belhanda of Montpellier? {Ed002's Note - In the later half of last season Belhanda attracted confirmed interest from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and PSG and there was unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player said he wished a move to Italy or to Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy or Germany was not possible (it seems he was not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros was being quoted by Montpellier but they knew they were unlikely to get it. Recently Atletico Madrid, Inter and Fenerbahce have shown interest in the player. Atletico would need to wait until the summer for a move, but Fenerbahce pushed ahead and agreed a fee for his transfer, but are unable right now to agree a signing on fee and relocation fees. A thought remains that a late bid may come from Inter Milan, who have baulked at the price being asked for their first choice midfielder - Paulinho.}

Hi eds
Ian Ayre claimed Liverpool are working on a number of targets, any ideas on who these targets could be?
Also, i feel Liverpool lack a top creative attacking midfielder which something all the top teams possess such as Mata, Kagawa, Cazorla, Silva etc. Obviously Sneijder would be an ideal player for that role but is he too expensive? Who else would Rodgers consider bringing in for that role?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Beyond what is said here about interest in players I cannot say who in particular any statement from Ian Ayre referred to. Did he say for this window or the next? Sneijder has been dealt with at length but he has now upset Galatasaray with his delaying of teh move.}
