Evening Ed001.

First of all, what a result today!

Away from the match, just want to pick up on the discussion regarding Clyne. You were spot on regarding him not being injured. Mate of mine who I sit next to at the match, knows a bloke who works with the phsyio team. He was saying that Clyne was caught smoking marijuana and partying whilst away in Ghana and the club actually spoke to the FA regarding this and the only reason he played against United was because of the lack of cover at RB.

He was also saying how worried the club was regarding Brewster's injury, especially when the leg was infected, hampering his comeback.

Brewster is very very highly rated at the club and have said that before his injury, was ahead of Owen ( at the same age ) in terms of terms of ability.

Good to see him back and scoring with the 23's along with the Ox and Gomez. I think the club will resist bringing them back early and wait until next season.

If Brewster is ahead of Owen ability wise at that age i'll be a very very happy man because in todays market that's a £150 million player.

Ahh he was stoned the whole time, explains his performances over the last few years.

Second hand tittle tattle Drogie, which may or may not be right.
You shouldn’t have posted that imo.

Second hand title tattle? And what make you so sure mate?

It's a rumour site. so why not post a rumour?

I know it's a rumour page but I'm a relative of Clyne please don't slander his name by bringing drugs into it he injured his back playing how shall I say extra curricular activities lol 1000% fact but don't drag he's name through dirt he loves the club and the badge he played for just know that

Cheers
Guys.

Surely everything is second hand here, everyone’s heard it from someone.

Drogie - are you tslking about the period of his (Clyne) so called back injury?

If so I heard the same thing at the time. In fact I remember a rumor of that kind was flying around on social media, but never paid much attention to it.

You probably shouldn’t post something that could destroy a man’s career unless you have actual proof.

Agree2 Disagree9

{Ed001's Note - it wouldn't destroy his career. It is not seen as career-defining, let alone destroying. Numerous players each season get caught with marijuana in their systems. It was not marijuana that caused Clyne to be dropped, it was his lifestyle. The guy may claim to care about Liverpool or football in general, but the only thing he gives a toss about is living the high life.}

15 Apr 2019 07:40:20
Those of you that read my posts will know that I never post a rumour, in fact it’s probbly my first!

I was given the info by a good friend of mine that I sit next to at the match, I’m not one for spreading cr*p.

Sorry if I’ve offended anyone, but the club are finished with Clyne.

Ed01 already addressed the Clyne issue months when many moaned as to why he was not being picked. Ed01 said at the time that he was "not living the lifestyle of a professional footballer" and if anything the OP posted is true then that was what Ed01 may have been referring to.

IMO and regardless of his alleged lifestyle, he is light years behind Trent, Milner and even Hendo at RB and for me, Klopp did the right thing by getting shot of him cos he was no good enuff. Now if you add his "lifestyle" to the equation then it was a no-brainer.

Agree6 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I have already posted in this thread that it was not about a drugs test. It was his party lifestyle. He acts like one of those spoilt rich kids who have too much money and never had to earn it as they were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Klopp wants professionals who train hard and not turn up to training after snatching 20 minutes kip following a night out partying.}

16 Apr 2019 12:42:38
With you all the way on that one, Ed. Regardless of his issues (of which there are many, clearly) he is a dreadful player and I'm thankful he is no longer here and we will get rid come this summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the sad thing is that he was a dreadful player because of his own attitude. He had the ability to be more than good enough.}

17 Apr 2019 23:25:06
Clyne will always be an important footnote in Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnolds careers.

Hi Ed, do you no if we Klopp still has an interest in Brandt please, or have we moved on? I guess it will probably be a "possible if Mane were to leave"? .

Believable12 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Liverpool will be interested if Brandt is made available.}

14 Apr 2019 11:53:35
Thank you for your reply Ed. I’ve read he will definitely leave at end of season, but not sure how accurate that is.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not accurate at all.}

14 Apr 2019 13:30:32
Cant see him sticking at Leverkusen without European football.

Agree5 Disagree0

14 Apr 2019 16:14:48
He would want some guarantees regarding playing time. Cannot imagine him willing to sit on the bench and starting only domestic cups games.

14 Apr 2019 20:17:46
Hmm interesting. Not seen us really linked with anyone that I know that well. Brandt and Laxalt seem recurring names. I think as I've said before we need a right back option, a striker to give a different option and maybe left back cover.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - Brandt can play anywhere across the front.

14 Apr 2019 20:31:30
I’d see him as a good buy think he’d get quite a bit of game time since he’s so versatile in his positions. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of him this season in his attacking / box to box type of role.

Agree4 Disagree0

14 Apr 2019 21:35:47
People say they can't see him joining us without guaranteed playing time. let's face it he won't get that guarantee but at Leverkusen next year without European ball he's going to get 35-40 games at most, whereas with us with a squad good enough to go deep into the domestic cups he's going to get at least similar numbers, more if he proves himself and forces his way into the starting lineup.

15 Apr 2019 08:47:40
Little Naby, I think the player himself wanted assured playing time when we looked at him last time. I can’t see that will have changed but if Ed002 has said we are interested if he is available then I guess it’s doen to the club to persuade him mate.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Apr 2019 14:14:21
I don't understand the worrying about Brandt having "concern for playing time", unless he's publicly stated that concern. One (very small) criticism I have of Klopp is that he overplays guys because he doesn't like to compromise on players who haven't quite mastered his system (see Fabinho's and Oxlade-Chamberlain's slow integration, Shaqiri's disappearance when we moved to the 4-3-3). I would love to see him expand the rotation by a couple players. Brandt can play in the midfield or in the front 3. He'd be a perfect addition as there will be plenty of opportunity to play for a guy with this type of versatility.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Brandt has previously expressed that concern.}

15 Apr 2019 22:10:22
If that’s the case then he’s destined to play for a mid table team for his entire career. If you want to play at the top table you will never be guaranteed playing time.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Maybe Klopp should stop making such promises then.}

16 Apr 2019 10:21:53
Surely by now professional players understand that with the amount of games that have to be played each season demanding game time from a potential new club is ludicrous. Different systems to counteract different opponents etc automatically dictates players have to be rotated.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Apr 2019 14:20:21
Surely City ( I say begrudgingly) have shown a model whereby young stars and the ego’s that sometimes come with have been managed effectively; Sane being a good example of a player who would demand playing time but comes on and off the bench. I would feel disappointed that Brant would put playing time first, when our clubs aspirations look promising. In my opinion, no matter how big a player, they shouldn’t demand playing time ahead of any future signing. The player themselves should believe in their confidence and prove their metal on the pitch to earn playing time at a club.
My opinion, subject to criticism of course.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Sane is looking at his options to move on.}

16 Apr 2019 16:17:36
Thanks Ed, that comes as a surprise. Is there a favoured destination?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware, but he is 23 and wants to be playing regularly as he thinks he is good enough. But there was some interest in Leroy Sane in January so Manchester City will look to resolve the situation.}

16 Apr 2019 19:33:12
Thanks Ed, appreciate the response. Best of luck to the lad.
